List of Thai BL dramas i've watched with short opinions about them i guess :P
Thai BLs that i finished:
A Boss and a Babe. It's cute for what it is, i loved the gaming friendships and i'm a sucker for forcebook. 7/10 need more unhinged energy from book.
A Tale of Thousand Stars/Our Skyy 2 : Bad Buddy x A Tale Of Thousand stars. this show reminds me a lot of early to mid 2000s lakorns. it's a beautiful by the book love story, i appreciated that a bl got to take a spin on this kind of quiet thai story. 8/10 loved it but still too vanilla for my taste.
Bake Me Please. Guide Kantapon is the cutest man alive and CAKES! that it, that all i have for this show. 6/10 it's a show that exist.
Be My Favorite. damn fluke gawin is so pretty what was this show about again? :P i'm kidding, i actually really liked this show. i watched it when i had zero knowledge about bl industry, i was oblivious about krist's controversy and i find krist acting to be charming and think kawee is very relatable as a cringe fail human myself. 8.5/10 this show made me want to collected weird thingies.
Cherry Magic (Thailand). oh boy this show. it's was everything to me also the only show so far that i've written extensively on this site. here is my personal feeling about this show. 9.5/10 would kill for taynew.
Cooking Crush. what! the fuc$! look look, i just learned that both offgun are older than me. when i first saw the show i thought they were some rookie actors with how young they looks. watching cute bl is gonna be the death of me. anywho this show is supercute don't have a lot of thought about it though. 7.5/10 cutting half a point cause of no samsee x metha.
Cutie Pie/Naughty Babe. what a fuckin legend of a series. all the characters have zero braincells and somehow all the rich pretty boys are engaged to each other and by arranged marriages nonetheless. wtf is this fanfic version of thailand and where can i get hit by a truck and get isekai to it. 7.5/10 still haven't watch Cutie Pie 2 U, i hope it get dumber.
Enchanté. this show is so dummmb it should've go full camp reverse harem yaoi nonsense but it didn't and ended up being kinda boring. 6.5/10. meh, i'm still a sucker for forcebook.
Last Twilight. UGHHH!! i'm still so mad. this show was going to be THE SHOW for me then ep 11-12 happened i legit mentally check out halfway through ep 12 and i basically blocked the ending from my mind. this show came out at the right place and the right time for me, the first 9 episodes helped me through a very tough time in my life. the story of two people helping each other finding their way out of the dark was very compelling to me. ughh. 5.5/10 (9/10 for ep 1-9) P'Aof why are you like this!!
Laws Of Attraction. yassssssss this show slay(literally :P) the show is a breath of fresh air for me despite how very lakorn of it is. i'm glad that there is a bl that feel this soapy and campy cause like i do love my angsty and innocent school bls but the industry really need show like laws of attraction. jamfilm also were very great in their roles espically film, charn is the most babygirl corrupted cute evil lawyer of all time. 9/10 no note headempty only charn's evil smirks in my mind
La Pluie. now, this is a romance. this show is one of the most romanctic media that i personally have experience. i loved that the show took the cheesy premise of soulmates and work it so well to do both deconstruction and exploration of the trope. i think using rain, thing that isolated people as a narrative tool for love connection is absolutely brilliant. last but not least pat is just the perfect bl love interest, he's an very idealized character but he do feels like an actual person. i want to give a shout out to Pee Peerawich the way he said "มันหนาวอ่ะ" in ep 8 sent me, the raspy voice, the eye twich and combo those with a back cuddle, sir! you just commited a mass murders with that move. 9/10 plz i need season two with my baby boy tien.
Love in Translation. the unhingendness of that first meeting is probably my favorite bl meet cute. look if you don't get into a fistfight with the guy you destined to be with then what is the point of life. this show fake date is very well done it's doesn't feel forced like in a lot of other bls and it make the growing attraction feels very genuine and it pay off in one of the best sex scenes in all of bl, yang is such a freak and i loved him for it. 8/10 the last two episodes did got slightly off the rail for me but i still enjoyed the show.
Moonlight Chicken. one of the most beautiful shows i ever watched. when watching this show i can feels, smells and tastes everything it depicted. from the comfort khao man gai to jim's loneliness, from alan's heartbreak to liming and heart's midnight motorcycle ride. this show gave me all the feels and i still can't completely shake it off. 9.9/10 this show is a healing.
My School President. These boys!!!! i can't, i loved these boys so much, all the boys, YES ALL OF THEM! this show is on the opposite spectrum of Moonlight Chicken for me. while MC give me the good heartaches this show give me unbridled joy it's like heartstopper on cracks. i absolutely adored tinn and gun and the show relentless optimism about thier first love. love is awesome no matter the romantic, familial or platonic kind and i think this show hit the marks with all three. 10/10(i'm super bias but fuck it idc i even liked the singing) this show made me started watching thai bl and it always will have a place in my heart.
My Ride. this show is lacking in intimacy but making up by being all heart. could this show be better if they fleshed out and explore more of tawan and his cheating bf's relationship, maybe but i'm happy for what we got. 8/10 mork and tawan were very cutie patootie, i don't remember much about the het and the side couple were just st ok.
Step by Step. man trisanu is exactly the same height at me and i want everyone to know that is the only reason i started this show🤣 . i feels like this show have a lot to say about stuff but i kinda got lost staring at man trisanu while watching. one thing i really loved is the very fem *ตุ๊ด coworker who got to be a real character not just a jokey sidekick and having a loving relationship with a hottie. 7.5/10 can i get more man trisanu in bl plz.
Triage. asshole doctor stuck in a timeloop for him to find the meaning of life, yes plz give it to me. i loved stories about assholes who need to better themself for love and other junk. tinn and tol are both grumpy bitches and i just loved that the show use the timeloop to soften these nerds. at the end i just want to wrap them in blanket and let's them cuddle each other forever. 8.5/10 the last ep is bit convoluted but i forgave the show for that cute clocktower kiss.
You're My Sky. i started this show for my boy suar and he did not disappointed. the pining and the longing for an older boy who been there for you most you life, chef kiss. this show also very beautiful to look at. 8/10 i'm kinda meh about the side couples, i do think they all got the "good ending" for their stories.
Thai BLs that i didn't finish or gave up and skipped to the ending:
Bad Buddy. Oh boy, am i gonna get murder for this??? sorry but idk why i didn't wholeheartedly love and give this show my undivided attention. i watched this show very weird and out of order, i started with the last ep than just watch other episodes in bit and peice. i think i've seen 70% of this show. plz forgive me this is the first thai bl i tried to get into but can't. maybe i need to give this show another chance and watch it properly. or idk maybe cause the way i watched it, it's ruined for me forever. 6.5/10 i loved the rooftop kiss plz don't kill me.
Dangerous Romance. this show is trash and not the good kind, how this show depicted relationship between a rich asshole and a poor boy feels very gross to me. i fast forward a bunch and gave up after the not just dumb but very cruel breakup. 4/10 it's watchable if you ignore the plot and the chatacters.
Hidden Agenda. wow this is the most nothing show that ever nothing for me. it's a perfected white noise while playing chill video games. i stopped watching after ep 8 cause look like there going to be a dumb break up, i have no desire to revisit this show. 5/10 joongdunk were kinda cutes.
The Miracle of Teddy Bear. this show is too god damn long with too many side plots the one and a half hour per episode killed the momentum for me. i liked the show and do think i want to revisit and finish it one day. 6/10 for now.
Vice Versa. why are they giving jimmysea this show. this show is so boring for me, i gave up in episode 6. 4/10 gmmtv give my babies better shows!!
Thai BLs that i've watched all the sex scenes and have no intention of watching the actual show:
Kinnporsche: heheehehhehehe everyone were so hot, too bad i don't like rich mafia story. mile being a nepobaby also significantly killed the mood for me. 55555/dead bodyguards (idk how many there are but i don't care) the ost are bangers though.
Venus in the Sky and Love in the Air. cringe gay sex for the wins. 69/420.
ok, whoo that was a lot. gonna pin this cause i don't think anyone want to read all that in one sitting. i think i'm gonna make another post for non thai BLs in the near future. thanks for reading my unhinged opinions hope i'm not gonna get moider for it 55555555.

Honestly, I really admire (and am thankful for) the way you manage and handle those back and forth with some Izzy stans, I don't think I have the mental strength to entertain them myself.
I wasn't part of the fandom after season 1 aired, I watched it without engaging much and then kind of waited for season 2 to come out, so I had no idea such a divide had happened between Izzy stans and the rest of the fandom (glad I was oblivious to it ngl). All I know is that I hated Izzy’s guts and wanted him to get his just desert.
So yeah, I wasn’t a fan and I struggled forgiving him when season 2 started because the show was trying so hard to make him sympathetic (which I honestly couldn’t give two shits about at first, I wanted revenge), plus you’re right, Izzy got way too much screen time (which gave Izzy stans ammunitions to say “SEE!! Main character!!!”), but I did end up warming up to him by the time he died. I can even say I genuinely liked him.
BUT the journey to that point was sooo conflicting because some Izzy stans were also doing the absolute most in the main tag, painting Izzy as this angel who never did anything wrong and was terrorized by the monster Ed, and I was like????? Did season 1 happen??? Did I dream the whole season??? Did I watch a version from an alternate universe??? I was BAFFLED. I don't know who is that Izzy they're talking about, but it's not the one on my screen, that's for sure.
Then, Izzy died and the hardcore stans lost their shit (you know what I'm talking about) and they have seriously soured me to Izzy again. I want to like the character we had on screen, and I want to like his redemption arc. He was a great antagonist even if I hated him, and we owed him so much for all the shit he pulled in season 1, but the OTT takes and behaviors from stans I’ve seen have made me give up on him, which sucks. Maybe I’ll feel better about him in a few months, but right now, I can’t stand him, and I’ve blocked his tag everywhere (ao3 included, because, truly, fuck fanon Izzy, fuck him).
Hope it’s not too draining for you though, just writing this felt like screaming into the void, so I can’t imagine dealing with this on the daily. Take care!
hi anon i'm so glad you sent this bc i felt very similarly about izzy in s2. i didn't find him sympathetic at all. i didn't give a single shit that he was suffering from ed being in his kraken era bc he's the entire reason ed ended up like that in the first place. izzy was reaping what he sowed. seeing ed feeling so miserable broke my fucking heart and i can't stand any bullshit takes about 'izzy was protecting the crew from ed's abuse' or 'edizzy invented love confirmed' or whatever other nonsense his stans chose to take away from episodes 1-3.
i truly do not see izzy as a victim. i truly do not see ed as an abuser. sometimes i will start reading a post in the ofmd tag that refers to an 'abuser' and a 'victim' and i get halfway through the post and realise that the op has a completely opposite view of who is who than i do.
and as s2 progressed i just felt worse and worse about it like he was getting so much screentime and popping up all over the place and he'd absorbed a load of traits (from other characters that i'd have rather seen more of) bc the writers had to speedrun making him semi-likeable. i still haven't done a proper rewatch since the finale aired and i'm pretty sure i'll feel different watching it knowing he dies in ep8, but when eps 6-7 dropped i fucking hated every scene he was in and felt like he ruined some otherwise really lovely ed/stede moments like their breakfast in bed. izzy being cheered on for wearing drag and singing - the exact acts that caused him to threaten ed - feels exactly like the very common queer experience of seeing the homophobic kid who bullied you for being queer getting loads of support when they come out themselves.
and the takes that were coming out of the canyon at this time were absolutely wild, especially in relation to ed. people absolutely baying for blood, wanting to see him suffer, wanting his relationship with stede to suffer, wanting him to have to crawl across broken glass to repair his relationship with the crew, all while treating izzy as a protagonist who never did anything wrong.
so ngl i was delighted when he died. but mostly i was relieved that it was going to be over. i walked out of my circus tent with my clown makeup on believing that the canyon would yell for a bit and then slowly quiet down as people who claimed they'd be leaving the fandom if izzy died made good on their promise and fucked off.
and if anything they've got louder and more unhinged and are out here reinventing tjlc and harassing the writers and churning out the most rancid racist posts and writing obituaries that caused multiple people on twt to mistakenly think Actual Human Person con o'neill had died.
and on one hand i'm kind of glad that more people know what they're like now but god i really do feel for any izzy fans who have had their enjoyment of him ruined by the canyon. i really do think it's not the character that's polarising, it's the fandom response, in that most people who come in liking izzy end up either aligning with the canyon or getting so fucking fed up of the canyon that they don't like him anymore. and both of those are a shame tbh because he is very well acted and well written, especially in s1, and i wish i could've enjoyed his scenes and felt the emotional payoff of his death
anyway. sorry for writing you 1 billion words. ily ❤️

Unfollowing ppl complaining about ‘pede as self-care.
Is it better than the ‘98 anime? Production-wise yes, Tri had its own charm but it was also a 90’s anime and has the errors and cost-cutting to show for it. It’s also completely divergent from the manga bc it was still serialized as episodes were coming out— it’s basically apples and oranges to compare (haha).
Do I think it’s better than the manga? Not really. Again, the stories are diverging— Stamp is borrowing more from Maximum proper and has the full context to mold as it sees fit. Yeah the pacing is breakneck compared to the manga but idk I think it’s fun, it’s different. I was getting a little hesitant during ep 6 as many others were but by the end I was into it. A chaotic situation where two lives are in the balance? And *Wolfwood* is the one who has to make the tough choices of stubbornly keeping them both alive? That’s interesting! I wanna see how that goes! Make him even more of a parallel to Vash, why not? It’s also not even halfway through the season yet and I still have no fucking idea if it’s one cour or two so who knows how it’ll all shake out. I’ll reserve my final judgements for when the full thing’s out and done, but it’s not replacing or detracting from Max in any stretch.
Do I think the manga had its own pacing issues? Hell yeah. Backstories get rewritten and details tweaked as it goes on, the EOM was a very late addition that didn’t get much time to be expanded on, nor it’s connections to other characters beyond direct A—B influence. The fight with Legato in general felt simultaneously drawn out and too short. I’d like to know a bit more about Domina and Chronica, kinda a big deal to know there are even more independents and not really considered as a new perspective to the conflict between the twins. The ending is incomplete on an emotional level. Why did we not get Vash’s reaction to the tree?? Nightow could have gutted me harder with an apple than he did with confetti and I can only presume he didn’t have the pages left to do so. But I still love it. It’s one of my favorites now, I shed tears and laughed and connected to it and a lot of cool people through reading it last year. It made me remember how much I love writing. I’d never not recommend it to someone just because *I* didn’t gel with the ending after sitting with it for a bit. Sum greater than the parts and all that.
To continue the first analogy: Stamp and Max are more like an orange and a tart. Both contain the essence of something but convey it and interact with you in very different ways— as is the nature of differing mediums. An adaptation will never be 1:1 with the source material because there’s specific things you can only do or convey through each one and tweaks must be made. How the gutters are placed and arranged on a comic page cannot be perfectly translated to a camera pan. I’ve wiped my hands of expecting “perfect” adaptations anymore, I just want the new thing to recapture and expand on the essence of what I liked about the original.
Stampede is fine so far. I like the music. I like the animation. I like the extra bits of character interaction and flavor we didn’t get from the other two. It feels *enough* like Trigun, and that’s good enough for me.
But this is all just my subjective taste. If stamp doesn’t gel for you, it doesn’t gel. I’m just jaded from a very loud minority that shit all over it the moment the trailers dropped bc it wasn’t the ‘98 Nostalgia Goggles version of Trigun they remembered half-watching on tv a decade ago and poisoning the well. There are valid things to critique, I personally just want to crawl back up into my hermit shell with the episodes playing on loop and daydreaming about having that new statue.
There’s three flavors of Trigun to choose from now. Pick the ones you like and have fun.

alrighty it's been a few days since i finished weak hero class 1, i wanted to write down my thoughts about it asap before my perception gets molded even more by time, online posts, and fancontent.
for anyone interested in reading this HELLA long post, just note that i'm p much a drama-only person. i did read up to ch 39 of the webtoon though, and i still plan to make comments about the adapation aspect & where s2 can take the story from here based on the drama/webtoon but just note that's where all my base knowledge is coming from. this post will have spoilers about the full drama
the show & story as a whole
i feel like i generally share the same opinions as mainstream about the drama... it was a good story - the pacing was excellent imo, i don't feel like anything lingered too long or was waaay too underdeveloped. i was honestly shocked when i saw we were at like ep 5-6 when bumseok finally turned, i thought he would've turned at the halfway point (ep 4) but again based on all the developments and what was to come, it was a good time when he did.
i went in p much having some idea of future scenes, and then later knowing roughly the plot of the season. i had no knowledge of the webtoon, like i think i learned it was based off of a webtoon when i 1st looked it up to watch but i had never heard of it before despite it being popular (?). i watched 2 eps, learned that the entirety of s1 covered the backstory of sieun that was simply just 1 part of the webtoon, read the webtoon to read the original writing of the backstory up to ch 39, and then finished the rest of the drama. did not continue past ch 39 bc tbh the webtoon does not interest me, the plot of HS boys warring really does not intrigue me lol.
(also... when stories that are not romance-based have female characters/representation i'm not happy with... that also turns me off to the story. i can make excuses for romance-based stories having weak characterization for the losers lol but to my knowledge weak hero is not a romance story - even if i am really suspecting the author low-key wanted to write BL but didn't go through w it. some of the stuff i'm seeing from later ch of the webtoon... why was gray lightly blushing when he was like i could have been friends w donald? sure technically there's nothing inherently romantic but that but also...)
i kind of wish i had gone w a completely or almost completely clean slate, i think there were a couple scenes where i didn't get the full emotional hit of bc i had seen gifs of it before (like the scene where sieun smiles for the 1st time when suho is poking at him in the hospital). i started knowing bumseok was gonna pull some shit, but i didn't know the full aspect until i read the webtoon. so i think if i had a do-over, i wish i could have looked at less stuff before finishing the full series... but i think knowing the webtoon story definitely made me like less sad about & better understand the developments overall.
honing in on some aspects
i feel like this hinges on a hot take but perhaps not surprising given my comments just now, but i honestly think the drama's writing is much better than the webtoon's - and this may be bc the drama had the benefit of retrospect, of having a solidified trajectory of sieun's story after this. (note: from now on, korean names refer to the drama character, anglicized names refer to the webtoon version) i was really surprised to see how different suho and stephen are as characters, but i do prefer suho over stephen... like the character morals are still present in the drama, and both characters are ppl who you really feel for when they're suffering through the injustice, but honestly... stephen is kind of not as likeable.
like his shtick of donating all his awards and stuff to the class & being like "oh i really enjoy helping others :)" just feels kind of fictional (derogatory) to me... while suho is more relatable with his initial resistance to help someone he barely knows, and his morals of doing the right thing shown through smaller actions (stopping his hit when he realizes someone is down fr - also his fight w the baseball team is so good bc it is a really good intro to suho's character without words; demanding the bullies get back in line when they cut) rather than a grandiose kind of thing. maybe it's bc i'm cynical and irl low-key suspicious of ppl who are extremely altruistic, and stephen being the way he is makes what happens to him in the end even more unfair which is the point - but yeah. also i prefer suho in the drama over stephen's "i would wipe the floor w all of your asses academically if i applied myself but i just won't ;)" even if technically the sentiment is still there w suho's ability to beatdown. but yeah, the rewrite of suho was really good (perhaps even needed) imo.
also them rewriting suho as someone who knows how to fight while stephen just got his ass beat... again, makes his fate more excruciating w how he let himself get whaled on & bullied to protect gray, and makes the bullies even more cruel but... i'm sorry i prefer suho fighting back. tbh i wonder why they didn't keep the story aspect of being put into a coma via falling from the roof but i guess it gives bumseok/bryce more direct involvement and reason for sieun to go off like he does (he's let this slide for the entire time but this time he can't given the direct action against his best friend)
i've seen posts being like suho seems to have aspects of sieun's future eunjung friends (me when i saw gerard sleeping on the desks: is this an ahn suho reference???), which i think will actually make s2 better bc it gives more incentive as to why sieun will even consider befriending the boys - rather than in the webtoon, which iirc/imo feels more like the boys just hang around sieun enough times for him to be like "fine, i guess we can be friends". bc remember, he has just lost his 2 only friends in extremely painful ways... he will need to be drawn to positive aspects (e.g., things he liked or remembers distinctly about suho) in order to open his heart again.
also... i have to bring this up bc i distinctly had thoughts about this when i saw it but them having a shower scene to match the same scene in the webtoon... literally groaned bc enough sexualization of younger characters but also of all the things to be faithful on... i get why they included it to show how suho is p much living at school and doesn't live the same life as his classmates but why... i saw an interview (supposedly, it was someone writing it up on twt) where choi hyunwook was like "it's hard to watch that shower scene bc it was my 1st ever exposure scene but i tried my best" and i'm like dude... i feel you as a viewer
other than suho/stephen, bumseok is the biggest and most obvious example of adaption change - like sure, characters should be allowed to just be assholes with no sob story to "explain" their actions, but i enjoyed them expanding bryce's character to be a bigger part of the friendship trio and give more reason as to why suho and sieun let his assholery slide until it's too late. bumseok's inferiority complex is honestly pretty relatable, and the scene where they reveal for the first time how badly his dad abuses him made me cover my mouth, but obviously it doesn't excuse the shit he ends up doing... but all together, it's understandable why he breaks down the way he does.
also, i really enjoyed how the violence at the end of the season took on more of a tone of "you can beat up whoever you want but it won't necessarily satisfy you how you like or bring back what's lost". bumseok had multiple times of beating ppl up and when he finally got his kicks in on the guy who really set off his inferiority complex, he realizes this wasn't what he wanted. in the webtoon, gray's beatdown of suho's bullies was presented kind of triumphantly, and there was definitely a sense of "hell yea" when sieun was going apeshit on them - but by the time we get to the last guys, that scene w bumseok where he can't bring himself to hit his ex-friend despite literally watching bumseok kick the shit out of suho... not only does it show sieun's warm-heartedness, but it adds to sense of defeat he has at the end with his outburst in the hallway and visiting suho after the adrenaline of fighting wears off. i think part of it was the show not wanting to support senseless violence in schools, but i think it was a nice change from the webtoon. also matched the story better since bumseok had more of a sympathetic backstory, had regret over what he did to suho, and also already got his ass beat physically & emotionally by his dad over suho anyway. no need for him to keep getting whaled on for the point to sink in
i'm also pleased they didn't super push a romance with youngyi, the initial interactions bw her and sieun were refreshing but i was still scared and thankfully p much the rest of their interactions in the season can easily be interpreted platonically. i still wonder a little if her character was really necessary given bumseok was already a 3rd wheel (like it was pretty obvious he wasn't exactly on the same standing like sieun and suho are to each other, mostly bc they didn't know much abt him really), but it is bc her headstrong nature kind of forces bumseok into the 4th wheel category and worsens everything since we all know bumseok embraced his inferiority complex rather than the discomfort of putting himself out there for his burgeoning friends.
i kind of wish though she didn't have so much dialogue of her being like "do you have a crush on me? ;P", like the times it happened were p much in a row repeatedly within 2 eps and i was like ok let's chill we know she's mainly here as a love interest but... i would've preferred less focus on her relation to male units and more about her as a character. on the other hand, her constantly checking her romantic value could kind of imply she has issues with self-confidence and is just putting up a front (also noting that she loves to post to social media of her having friends p much)... to her, it's like her involvement w ppl she considers her friends ends up hurting them in the end (seokdae getting beat up and arrested, sieun losing suho). which would add to why she was so affected by bumseok's accusation at the end, that maybe she wasn't that confident in them liking her as a person and that sieun, p much her only friend at the end of all this, may actually hate her bc she inadvertently contributed to suho's coma.
i personally think it's pretty likely youngyi will return in s2, i was surprised when they kinda wrote her off real quick at the end but no way she (and seokdae) are gonna be 1 season characters... i'm really betting she will return in s2 and (cringe) become sieun's love interest fr. i'm not necessarily against them being a thing, but i don't think there's enough development bw them yet at this point to be for it / not a huge fan of their dynamic in a romantic sense... honestly if anything, i would be for suho/youngyi, but sieun has the main character rizz i guess lol. anyway that one scene in the hospital where they handwave a love "triangle" bw sieun, suho, and youngyi... ngl the 1st time i watched it i really felt like it was less suho & sieun -> youngyi and more suho & youngyi -> sieun (and i'm not even talking about the scene afterwards where suho calls sieun warm-hearted which i think a lot of ppl tend to interpret romantically. also i feel like the term "warm-hearted" is such a good, succinct descriptor of sieun's character - to me, it doesn't necessarily mean kind per se but that he cares).
the gilsoo story (hopefully i'm spelling that right, i feel like i saw su before but idk the hangeul being used. but apparently u and oo are both used?? all my korean lang knowledge is from duolingo so forgive me)... i was wondering how relevant this addition is to the overall story (idr it being in the webtoon, i know gilsoo as a character wasn't in the stephen story for sure but idr if there was a gambling thing going on), but i was thinking on it while writing this and i realize it could actually be a good lead-in to s2 developments... it could be that gilsoo was part of donald na's network of dealings and sieun taking him down is partially why donald goes after sieun... and then seokdae could come back and help sieun take down donald based on his knowledge of how gilsu worked and who he worked with... i am aware that eugene supposedly plays a role in taking down donald by impacting his networks (this was based on a reddit post i read, i literally don't know) so if you remove that (sorry man, but for the record i also don't enjoy eugene as a character based on what i've read so far so. not sorry) this could be a good way to have a continuity bw the 2 seasons. if they don't do something like this, then that's unfortunately mediocre writing, or i'm missing info of what exactly gilsoo is adapting from the webtoon.
where do we go from here
and now another extremely hot take... i actually think the ending of s1 is a satisfying conclusion to suho's story. this is mainly due to that last scene bw suho and sieun in the hospital (which is also actually my favorite scene out of the entire show, with the surrounding context. i had actually seen gifs of that scene beforehand, but i was so happy afterwards that i never got spoiled to the surrounding context bc i was able to get at least a good chunk of the emotional effect... genuinely felt that crushing feeling in my chest every time i thought of that scene the day after finishing the show. i'm really affected by ppl mourning/yearning for things they no longer can have) - their soft apologies to each other for hurting the other, albeit if it's technically one-sided, i think is a good wrap-up of sorts since suho will be in the coma indefinitely (webtoon knowledge lol). it does provide a sense of finality of their friendship to sieun, not only the imagined apologies but the realization that they both made their choices and sieun (and tech suho) is left to deal with the aftermath.
but also narrative-wise it makes sense for sieun and suho to never interact again - it's what drives sieun's protectiveness of his friends, the fact that his 1st/recent close friendships were shattered and are no longer accessible to him. him regaining suho's friendship via suho waking up in s2 (if it's not at the very end after everything w the association) just weakens that point imo, he needs to develop his relationships w the eunjang bros separately. i've heard stephen does get mentioned/"show up" via memories but i'm under the impression he p much disappears after his flashback arc (outside of the impact on gray's character) - honestly i wonder why the author left him in a coma instead of straight up killing him since that "good bye stephen" seemed to have a lot of finality to it... but i mean the emotional hit to gray would've def been way worse if he had died straight up. anyway low-key suspect the author might have him wake up in a post-story side story but that's just wishful thinking. i personally suspect suho will get "written off" p early in s2 since they didn't already in s1 - like sieun will go back to seoul to visit suho and the hospital will be like "oh sorry he got transferred and we can't tell you where due to confidentiality" and i guess the grandma died or got put in a nursing home to remove that possibility bc no way the grandma wouldn't tell suho's friend about where he went. and sieun will be in despair for a few moments until his eunjung friends are like "hey you good?" (via text message or maybe they came w him) and he decides to move on idk lol. all in all, i don't think suho is gonna feature a ton in s2 and i think that's for the better.
tbh, given the ending of s1/sieun's backstory with suho, i think people should actually go into the drama either having read the backstory itself via webtoon, or have the knowledge that suho's story is literally only 10-15 ch out of a 200+ ongoing webtoon. i think that's definitely what made me accept suho's coma more easily - i've read a few fix-the-ending fics where suho wakes up and while those are sweet & i get why they're wanted, i think it is unrealistic given the knowledge of where the webtoon goes from here. but tbh, i'm really surprised they chose to focus the ENTIRE s1 on the stephen backstory... like how tf are you gonna adequately cover the rest of the gd story in the next season? i'm saying that bc i heard the original plan for the weak hero drama was to have 2 seasons, but bro you need 3 seasons even if you remove a bunch of the fights and reduce the length of time spent on flashbacks... again, i have very little knowledge of the rest of the webtoon after ch 39 (arguably nonexistent) but idk. also the reference to donald na and the association at the very end... it is really super random given the story of s1 and how they did not mention ANYTHING about HS gangs/wars until now. again, given that the webtoon's literal MAIN STORY is about this gang wars stuff, i'm surprised they spent so much time on sieun's backstory nor did they have ANY mention of HS wars (btw was none of that happening in seoul? or is everything happening in the neighborhood that eunjang is in)... like tbh i feel like they could have provided enough meaning if they had just dedicated 3 eps to suho. to my knowledge, there's not TOO many events they pulled from the main story to write the s1 story, so there's a ton left to get into. plus there's like maybe at least 10 significant relevant characters to introduce in s2... how are they gonna develop all of those units well? s1 did p good w its current number, but idk how good self-contained stories can be when there's like billions of units involved. i personally think they'll remove a good number of units to the chagrin of webtoon fans, but man it is necessary fr.
anyway all that p much implies i am interested in watching s2 when it releases (i'm saying it will but i guess it's not really set in stone yet?). i actually wasn't really planning on it when i was in the middle of s1, given that i'm not interested in weak hero's webtoon & therefore its actual story, but man park jihoon. he really drew me in and i want to see where his character goes in s2. honestly still can't get over the fact that he used to be a relatively well-known kpop idol with a cute image and all his prev acting roles are cutesy characters... really explained why he seemed super comfortable in interviews & variety show esque stuff. as everyone else has been saying, the acting was good in this drama - i feel like i really realized what subtle acting was from this, but also for the record weak hero class 1 is the 1st tv series i have finished in maybe years, i don't watch much stuff out of depressive laziness lol. park jihoon's expressions were subtle but definitely enough to key you in on sieun's various emotions despite being relatively emotion-less - i read he purposely spent a lot of time developing that, and his hard work obviously paid off. his "crazy eyes" at the very end when he's in eunjung... ugh so good to show how much sieun has changed from that 1st instance he was bullied by youngbin.
hold on! what do i hear...
one last thing before i finish up - the soundtrack. omg. i was listening to hero and homesick on repeat for like 2 days... the music & lyrics match the show really well. homesick and again's lyrics... genuinely was struck by them when i read them for the 1st time. homesick is also very nostalgic-sounding to me bc it reminds me of music i listened to during a recent period in my life, so there's that too. hero is really good as well, and also them playing that acoustic version during the ep 7 credits... ough...
personally, i associate the songs this way, maybe this is common thought but i was like eureka when i came to these realizations:
hero - general
brass knuckle - general
homesick - sieun's pov
self - suho's pov
again - honestly... bumseok's pov. originally i thought of it as sieun, and it does match sieun imo, but i read the lyrics again thinking about how this plays when bumseok realizes what he's done to suho and i was like wait...
in summary
weak hero class 1 was a good drama/season. the writing of the season's story was solid, and the actors do a good job of showing not telling through their expressions/body language. the cinematography/editing is pretty, really liked the constant use of blue. the choreography/editing of the fights is also good (again, suho's fight w the baseball team... chef's KISS), even if there are definitely shots where you can pretty clearly see the gap of space bw the hit and the person being hit (complete tangent, but i always think of this video essay every time i think about fighting choreography so i kind of judge all fighting choreo off of that lol. yes i know it's just 1 person's opinion but whatever they're right). my very 1st opinion upon finishing it was "this was an interesting adaption of the webtoon (positive)" and that p much summarizes it. i don't know if i'd ever rewatch it (kind of the case w p much everything for me though, i'm p lazy and don't enjoy re-doing things), but i'm glad i watched it in the 1st place. also i definitely do not have a network of ppl who consume korean media bc i had never heard of this show before i saw it in passing on IG but it came out literally a year ago lol... based on that, i wouldn't even be surprised if i ended up missing s2 when it 1st comes out
also real quick now that i mentioned it... the IG vid i saw was an edit/cut of sieun and suho's 1st meeting with the music "sweet little bumblebee". cannot get over how much that song does not fit them yet that was my 1st experience w this show/series
an aside
alright i waited until the very end to bring this up bc i know this is not everyone's cup of tea but. i have to mention it given the nature of my other posts on this blog. i did touch on this kind of topic earlier though so y'all should see this coming
the ship of suho and sieun :) y'all know me, i think it's cute bc i love genki-adjacent units x reserved units. but overall i think what is most engaging about this drama is the complicated relationships bw sieun, suho, and bumseok (not shipping) and how other folks play into that storm. also i have read fics and seen fanart and honestly i'm not a huge fan of the popular depiction of the ship... like babygirl sieun, suave or super excited suho... no offense, but that's not how i would characterize them... idk how to really explain bc i don't have much plans on producing a significant number of fancontent (if any), but i feel like they would be a very reserved kind of couple. like suho would barely change how he treats sieun bw friends and dating, maybe just a bit more flirtatious language just to get a rise out of sieun. maybe sieun would warm up to suho but he would still be very reserved, half the time he would still push suho off if he tried to kiss him or get handsy but in an annoyed way rather than embarrassed (if you don't let me study by god i will not be responsible for what happens next). idk, this one is less clear in my mind bc i feel like i'm getting affected by the fan stuff i'm seeing and the amt of time since finishing the show is making me lose my memories lol. btw still on the fence about some of the suggestive dialogue in the drama, maybe it was meant to just show suho was a playful character but also stfu about being a married couple in a past life... (sarcasm. but also the "stop playing hard to get" line during the pool scene got to me more since i hadn't seen it online anywhere before, really wish i understood korean so i could tell if that was an accurate translation or not)
talking about suho/sieun... honestly i was surprised when the webtoon author explicitly covered ppl seeing gray and stephen as gay... pleased there was no homophobia bw the 2 which i was honestly expecting, just them brushing it off & being like "damn ppl just don't understand our bond". but also it isn't entirely out of left field to say gray may have had some romantic feelings toward stephen, w the way he reacted to the idea of them dating, which is apparently a reaction he has never had again in the webtoon... not looking that deep into it though, same-gender-friend-crushes happen. again, i don't read the webtoon so idk where they go from there. just adds more to gray's sadness when he reflects on the past if anything

Rating Season 4 Chenford Moments
We're halfway through the season, and coming up on a mini-hiatus, so I thought it would be fun to rate the Chenford moments we got this season so far!
This is essentially a ranking of each episode in terms of overarching Chenford plot/content. All gif credits go to the lovely @chenfordsource ! Please feel free to reblog with your own rating/ranking/additional moments!
4x01 Chenford hug #1 and (almost) sleepover 8/10
Tumblr media
It feels like we had dreamed up endless possibilities for what could happen in the premier and it was almost too good to be true that one of them actually happened - Tim took Lucy home with him for the night and she almost slept in his bed!
She asked for a hug, to which he agreed with a "come here" (!) following which there was a verrry long look, and then: Lucy. almost. went. into. his. room.
I was almost in shock watching this scene, and nervous that something more would happen, which would have felt too soon, in my opinion. I love how they left the scene and personally it doesn't bother me that this moment wasn't brought up again because it was connected to the grief about Jackson.
We didn't get much more Chenford in this episode, and I think I would have enjoyed this moment so much more if it hadn't been in the promo but nevertheless this was a huge moment for them so 8/10!
4x02 Lucy pranks Tim with booties - twice! - and he compliments her 6/10
Tumblr media
The prank! The (baby) booties! The locker room scene! Tim's smile! This was a welcome surprise in an episode where Chenford weren't even riding together. This gets a solid 6/10.
4x03 Lucy and Tim flirt banter about Lucy becoming Tim's go-fer aide 7/10
Tumblr media
The lead-up to Chenford deciding to ride together again was almost even better than their later scenes actually riding together again.
The stubbornness, the way these two were openly bantering in the roll call room, and finally, that conversation at the end of the episode!
A conversation that gave us lines like: "a very handsome boy" and "screw what anyone else thinks?" which simultaneously made us think Tim might be aware of what is developing between him and Lucy, and also wonder if Lucy is anywhere close to beginning to think of Tim in that way.
I give this a heaping 7/10.
Although, this did leave me wondering: was this a step in the right direction, or was it just an additional obstacle they would need to overcome? I'm still 50:50 on that.
4x04 Tim and Lucy...spend some time working together? 3/10
In this episode...we had some screen time with Tim and Lucy together...! lol
I wrote another post pointing out some positives after this aired but aside from the Tardis comment, a moment when Lucy seemed to impress Tim with the state department, and them sitting close together in that truck, there wasn't much to go on. At least they were together for part of the episode before Tim disappeared? A generous 3/10.
4x05 Tim and Lucy talk about having babies together 5/10
Tumblr media
The topic did seem to come out of nowhere, but we got Chenford talking about having kids, plus Chenford interacting with kids on the job. I still think it's foreshadowing. What more could a shipper want??
No Chenford for the second half of the ep though, unfortunately. 5/10
4x06 Tim and Lucy make another bet and continue to be competitive dorks, which everyone notices 6/10
Tumblr media
Another episode where Tim and Lucy aren't riding together (and so soon after getting "back together") but still have some quality interactions! That handholdshake? Talking to their other teammates about beating each other (we saw that exchanged look, Nyla and Nolan). Their full-body reactions at the end when Tim won they tied!
Giving this a 6/10, since in terms of progression to their relationship, there was a minor setback with the whole Ashley introduction.
4x07 Chenford have a bet rematch including a 🔥 van scene 7/10
Tumblr media
The competitive banter this episode was amazing, their case was fun, and we got the closest we'll probably ever get to an UC Chenford plot. I loved the entire van scene from Lucy criticizing Tim's outfit and essentially dressing him, to him hiking his shirt up higher than I'm sure was necessary, to Lucy not knowing where to look, to her highly entertaining commentary in his ear.
However, the ending left me confused, and I kind of wish the bet had been outside of work like the one in 2x03. Not ending the episode on a "high note" rounds this score down to a (still impressive) 7/10.
4x08 Lucy meets her future SIL and gives Tim some advice 4/10
It was cute to see Lucy and Genny bond in this episode, and Lucy's words to Tim at the end were definitely coming from the right place, but looking at this episode as a whole without what was to come in 4x09 - especially with the camera angles - didn't score very high for me in terms of overall Chenford plot. This was a great episode for Tim, of course, but we didn't get to see as much of supportive Lucy (yet!) as I would have liked. Oh, and we find out Tim is not single. 4/10
4x09 Lucy supports Tim investigating a case involving his dad, and we get our SECOND CHENFORD HUG 10/10
Tumblr media
This episode blew me away. I want to thank whoever kept most of the Chenford stuff out of the promotional material, because it made it that much better. All of Lucy's scenes were with Tim, from helping out at his old house (I still want to know how that came about), to going with him to the station on their day off (his confident "c'mon Chen"!), to interrogating a suspect for him, to that final hallway scene and HUG.
Her "come here", paralleling 4x01, her reassuring "you're nothing like him", Tim just breaking down and melting in her arms...this whole storyline definitely felt like a significant milestone in their relationship and I loved this hug even more than their first. My only complaint is we didn't get to linger on it longer! 10/10
4x10 Tim needs Lucy's help yet again in his relationship 5/10
Tumblr media
We get a hint of jealous!Lucy, them talking about Kojo, and of course the scene where she calls Tim a sweetheart. Having Ashley call Lucy was a welcome surprise and the show is being pretty obvious this time around about contrasting how well Tim and Lucy know each other vs their LIs. Plus we got another parking garage scene!
On the other hand, we got introduced to Lucy's new LI and Tim had an ending scene with Ashley so overall I'm giving the Chenford content a 5/10.
4x11 Tim is a supportive *partner* to Lucy while dealing with a personal case 5/10
Tumblr media
This was another good episode for Lucy (a continuation of what I hope is her upcoming "personal journey" from last ep), and it was nice to see Tim kind of take a step back and let Lucy take the lead on this one, while still letting her know he was there if she needed him. Overall there wasn't much development in their relationship, but we did get to see Tim in her apartment again, plus another interaction with Tamara, and they did have a sweet moment in the shop where he asked if she was ok. 5/10
4x12 TIM AND LUCY GO ON A [double] DATE 9/10
Tumblr media
Unlike Tim, we were well fed in 4x12!! We have never seen Tim and Lucy act the way they acted on that date and it only highlighted how far they have come and how well they know each other. Stealing food, sharing inside jokes, finishing each other's sentences, sitting next to each other (turned towards each other!) and basically ignoring their dates - I think this exceeded our expectations and then some!
It was also great to see them solve the main case of the episode together. Personal space, what's that??
The only reason this isn't getting a 10 is because they each ended the episode with their LIs and not each other. 9/10
Final ascending ranking:
12. 4x04 Tim and Lucy...spend some time working together? 3/10
11. 4x08 Lucy meets her future SIL and gives Tim some advice 4/10
10. 4x05 Tim and Lucy talk about having babies together 5/10
9. 4x11 Tim is a supportive *partner* to Lucy while dealing with a personal case 5/10
8. 4x10 Tim needs Lucy's help yet again in his relationship 5/10
7. 4x02 Lucy pranks Tim with booties - twice! - and he compliments her 6/10
6. 4x06 Tim and Lucy make another bet and continue to be competitive dorks, which everyone notices 6/10
5. 4x03 Lucy and Tim flirt banter about Lucy becoming Tim's go-fer aide 7/10
4. 4x07 Chenford have a bet rematch including a 🔥 van scene 7/10
3. 4x01 Chenford hug #1 and (almost) sleepover 8/10
2. 4x12 TIM AND LUCY GO ON A [double] DATE 9/10
1. 4x09 Lucy supports Tim investigating a case involving his dad, and we get our SECOND CHENFODR HUG 10/10
If you've made it this far, thanks and I hope you enjoyed - would love to hear your thoughts too!

Ranking and Rating All the Animes I’ve Watched (Which ain’t a lot)
Some of these might get me killed lmao but whatever. Feel free to judge me for my top fives
in order from least favorite to favorite
+++
15: Angel Beats: 2/10 for cool concept
- This is the only anime on here that I hate 💀 Idk why, there was just something about it. I’m not a big fan of romance so the ending was...eh. The concept is interesting as hell tho honestly
14: Banana Fish: 6/10 for Ash breaking my heart
- I know this is such a beloved show, but I just. Cant. Like it’s good, I like it, I’m just not a big fan of— idk how to explain it. Street fighting style anime? I like superpowers basically LMAO
13: Dorohedoro: 4/10 for Lizard bitch
- This is just Banana Fish on drugs and paranormal also as far as I can tell nobody falls in love here. I’m still watching and I’m struggling to get really into it, but I’m giving it a chance. The intro is one of the best ones on this list tho
12: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: 6/10 for intros
- I made it halfway through Part 2 then I gave up because it’s so batshit, but that’s kinda why I love it even though it’s so low on here. It wins #1 for THE BEST opening songs and intros
11: Hunter x Hunter: 7/10 for having one of the best villains
- I watched this entire goddamn anime and it just did not stick with me. I skipped a lot of episodes in the Chimera Ant arc because it would be one fight dragged on for three eps, however I will say I absolutely bawled at the end of it.
10: Yuri On Ice: 6/10 for Jerry Jewell the Russian King of Funimation
- Good comfort anime I binge watch every few months, my main beef with it is how repetitive it is. There doesn’t seem to be a lot at stake besides their careers and obviously the romance. Maybe it’s just because I’ve seen it so many times that I’ve become numb to it
9: Devilman Crybaby: 7/10 for WHAT THE FUCKFJJG
- I watched this mf in one night and I have not been the same since. The ending is fucking insane and I adore it, but everything else leading up to that is kinda lame. The animation is kinda ugly too lol
8: Beastars: 8/10 for sexy deer
- Can’t believe I made fun of this furry anime only for it to be one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Amazing plot, I genuinely can’t wait for more seasons especially since the manga gets insane. Also— that INTRO IS AMAZING
7: Soul Eater: 5/10 because Kid is in it
- My first anime besides SAO 🙌 Very unique art style I love it, also lovable characters. My main thing with it is that honestly the stakes seem a little too much for a group of fucking 15 year olds to handle but whatever, that’s most shounen anime in general
6: Demon Slayer: 6/10 for Nezuko and the orange mf I know will be my favorite
- I’m still watching this and so far I really like it, it’s just slow as hell. I’m not entirely sure what the main goal is, but I’ve heard it gets really good. Looking forward to another season if we get it
5: Fairy Tail: 7/10 for power of friendship
- I’ve loved this anime since I was like 10 bruh. I know it’s repetitive with “the power of friendship” but that’s what I like about it— nothing beats good character dynamics. Also wins the award for Best Hetero Ships in existence
4: My Hero Academia: 9/10 for the characters being AAA
- Hands down one of the best cast of characters, there’s not a single one I hate (besides Mineta but that’s the point of his character). The main issue I have with it is right now in the anime it’s still a little...kiddy? Like there was a festival arc after a very emotionally intense arc LMAO. Anyways, I’m excited for it to get more gritty
3: The Disastrous Life of Saiki K: 10/10 for amazing characters and comedy
- I just like dumbass fucking satirical comedy, as you can probably tell. This show made me laugh out loud so many times. If I had to choose anything to like not like about it it would be the fact that near the end of s2 it got kinda 😳😰 out of NOWHERE
2: Hetalia: 0/10 I fucking hate this dumb country anime
- I don’t even wanna talk about it. Just repeat what I said about dumbass satirical comedy and add my love for history and you get the mold that’s been growing in my head for over a year
1: Attack On Titan: unable to be rated bc it’s so good
- Honestly this just speaks for itself. Never have I absolutely loved a story and it’s characters this much, and it’s so well written I don’t know how Isayama came up with it. The ending was genuinely amazing. I’ll be thinking about this dumbass thing for a while . Also: amazing intros
+++
I have a long ass list I still need to watch tho this list will be updated in the future
Edit: lmao maybe I should say that this isn’t a list on which anime is good and which is bad, it’s just a favorites list. some of the ones I dislike are really good, they just didn’t stick with me 🤷

hello, do you have a guilty pleasure bl? mine is waterboyy, this show is so bad but really enjoy watching it once in a while.
hi anon! do I have A guilty pleasure bl?? literally half of my favorite bl shows ARE guilty pleasures lmaooo. let's go:
love sick: this show isn't bad AT ALL, yet being the first bl there are so many elements that aged like milk. it's long, it can be frustrating, the acting can be wishy-washy at times, the production quality is garbage & the writing outside of phunnoh (which are the only characters whose story came from the original novel so the director had to follow that) freaking sucks, it’s got so many tropes I hate like the evil girlfriend & the “I don’t like guys but I like him” tropes, yet... the characters are so damn lovable, phunnoh are still the healthiest ship I've ever seen in bl to this day, the friendships are amazing & the slice of life elements of this series have frankly never been matched since... it’s no wonder love sick is still in the heart of so many people, bc while it’s bad... it’s also so, SO good.
my tee: this one is definitely my number 1 guilty pleasure since love sick is still kinda good, bc this show? trash. the writing is the worst, the camero shots & sound are ATROCIOUS, there's homophobia, weird uncurable illnesses, and the show takes a turn halfway through from a happy light-hearted romcom to a tragic love story... HATED IT. drake & frank in it though??? actual perfection. firstly the chemistry is incredible, still one of my favorite ever & I legit praise it at least once a month so I'll stop at that. but also drake's acting in that show???? absolutely incredible. he honestly doesn't get praised enough for it bc it's still his best role to date imo. the raw honesty & beauty he brought to mork cannot be matched & no one would've been able to play that character as well as him. I became a drake stan since then & haven't looked back lol. so yeah truly drakefrank are the only thing that saved this show & I love them so much for it!
what the duck: once upon a time when only 8 bl shows aired a year, what the duck was my favorite for like a good 6 months lol. and this is exactly a repeat from my tee, the show is absolute trash & nothing is good apart from popoat, a ship that I adored. there's something about them that captured my heart & I know it's in big part the push & pull between them & the beautiful pining oat has for pop. they were just so good together & the sequel WRECKED ME. the day before my birthday too lol. 3 years later & I'm still mad :') that being said that show is also fucking funny, like... the first ep is still the funniest start to a thai series I've seen!
love poison: I really liked the first season of this show, and even the second season wasn't that bad (y'all know how much I hate sequels so that's saying something lmao!) I really enjoy series that take place in the isan region of thailand, it's such a different culture from what we see in most shows that take place in bangkok, and I really didn't mind the musical elements (whereas usually I tend to struggle with musical shows, kinda ironic considering glee was my favorite show for years kvfduhyui), in fact I really enjoy luktung music in shows for some reason. the chemistry wasn't half bad and the story was really fun & entertaining. that being said the production quality is SHIT, the acting is meh & the writing isn't the best either. so that definitely makes it a guilty pleasure show!

Just how long do we have to “pretend” that Grayson still has feelings for Babs? It better not be more than 1-2 episodes. Dude left her and Gotham 6 years ago and had no intention of going back until Bruce went off the rails. In one flashback he says we make sense and she didn’t seem pleased with that, presumably because she wanted him to say he loved her 🤷🏽♀️ Also from the TL it sounds like he took up with Dawn shortly afterwards. There seems to have been a modicum growth for him in between Dawn and Kory so instead of being a total dick (pun intended) with her he agrees that they figure their situations out and try again. However, this nonsense that he has to still feel something romantically for Babs to be able to work with her and protect Gotham is unnecessary BS. And if he’s being petty because of Fiddei, he really needs to stop. This is supposed to be Kory’s season so why am I halfway through and still dealing with Dick’s family drama and romance issues? ENOUGH with him constantly regressing! Where is the Titans show we were promised?
To be fully transparent (because I have another Titans asks in here I haven’t answered yet), I still have not watched the past two episodes. I said there was a limit to my patience with this show, and I apparently hit it when I heard ep 5 was 98% Jason flashback focused and then ep 6 is DickBabs flashback heavy/starts the wanting to rekindle in the present. I’m so sick of the Batfamily/Dick’s problems taking up so much space in a show called “Titans”. I’m sick of the writers overuse of flashbacks to allow Dick to “sow his wild oats” with his exes so they can avoid having to justify why Dick and Kory can’t be together in the present. Finally got rid of Hawk and Dove and it means nothing because all the air they sucked out of the plot is now transferred to Jason and Barbara. Whenever they decide to get back around to centering Kory or literally ANY other (actual) Titan, then maybe I’ll decide to tune back in. But for now, mentally, I’m here:

Beyond disappointed in Ted Lasso. What were they thinking?!
The writing is a complete betrayal and insult to Rebecca’s character and Hannah’s skills as they’re being seriously underused. It’s also insulting Sam’s character.
Hoping someone pulls Rebecca’s head out of her ass tbh. Sam shouldn’t be getting caught in the crossfire of her looking for romance. I know he showed up at her doorstep but she still should’ve turned him away, and not even messaged him in the first place.
Hey, I'm with you, Anon, though we do seem to be in the minority. Sam is definitely not blameless here, he is also in the wrong. But if one of them is more in the wrong, it is Rebecca. I can't speak to whether her head has left her arse as yet because I have quit watching (at least for now). I hear she called it off with Sam in the most recent ep, though not because of any major crisis of conscience or because anyone in her inner circle expressed any reasonable reservations in response to her bad behaviour. And to be honest, I'm not sure we should need to hope and pray that Rebecca's precocious god-daughter, her slimy ex-husband, or the brutal British press will act as a moral compass on this ill-advised relationship. Both Rupert and the press have been set up to some extent as the villains of the piece. And a 14 year old should never have to school her elders on what is and isn't acceptable. Nora's needs have already been neglected by Rebecca for far too long.
If a moral position is to be taken on this, it needs to be taken by the show (because stance matters) and/or by its characters. But the show has for the most part depicted this relationship as ill-advised but ultimately hot, sweet, funny and romantic. As for the characters themselves, Sam has shown at least once that he has some moral backbone but seems to be adorably clueless when it comes to fucking his boss who keeps trying to set boundaries with him. Meanwhile, Rebecca's whole arc in s1 was about learning not to misuse her power for her own selfish ends. In season one, she misused her power within the club in order to exact revenge. In season 2, we have seen her misuse her sexual power, though I still cannot see to what end. I'm a bit at a loss as to what exactly she gets out of this 'relationship' but then I'm a grown woman so I have absolutely no interest in sleeping with a Harry Potter enthusiast barely out of his teens. I couldn't think of anything less sexy and more ick. I was certainly hoping for better character development for her this season.
As to what the writers were thinking, obviously I was not in the writer's room, but I would guess that they were thinking that any drama is good drama, people are stupid and fan devotion will trump any meaningful critique. In other words, they were thinking exactly how every other television writer thinks, despite the fact that this show posited itself as 'not like other TV shows'. This, to me, is where the blame really lies. Not with the characters or with the actors who are doing their best to sell this ludicrous turn of events. It must be noted, however, that both actors were completely blindsided by this relationship that had supposedly been so cleverly foreshadowed. Newsflash: if the people actually living these stories did not see this coming then you haven't foreshadowed shit. Sure, there were a handful of people that paired Rebecca with Sam but this does not constitute proof either. Fans have free-range to imagine and re-imagine characters. In some cases this may extend to imagining relationships between characters who have barely, if ever, interacted. There may be little to no evidence that these characters have even clocked each other's existence and some fans will still ship it. The existence of a handful of shippers does not legitimise such a problematic and divisive plotline making it onscreen.
But wait!, you might argue, this may not be a case of a popular show seeing just how far they can stretch fan devotion. This may not be a case of fan service to a handful of shippers. After all, the creators mapped out the entire three-season arc of Ted Lasso before they even pitched it to Apple. This was their brilliant plan all along! To which I would say: then maybe they should've rethought their second act based on people's strong reactions to their first. Ted Lasso was touted as the show we all needed in 2020. The writers and creators have all marveled at the chord it struck considering it was conceived prior to the pandemic and all the chaos it wrought. And while there is something to be said for having/sticking to a creative vision, there is also something to be said for being flexible and responsive to your audience and the cultural zeitgeist with which you're engaged. Season 1 of Ted Lasso told its story so gently, without creating distrust, division or unnecessary anxiety. It did not treat its audience like a gaggle of stupid lemmings to be led over a succession of narrative cliffs. THIS is what I mean when I say the show has broken with its brand. And look, this whole dark forest thing would be okay if the narrative arc was as well-crafted as s1. Season 1 gave us meaning, cohesion, comfort, sense in a senseless time. It was an almost perfectly crafted season of television. And I kept the faith for 6 episodes, despite the first half of s2 being pretty damn wobbly. But the follow-up to this stellar debut has been less than extraordinary so yeah, perhaps they should've thought a little harder about what made s1 so special before throwing it all out the window.
But wait!, I hear the faithful say, you don't know how things will pan out yet! Wait until the season is over and everything will make sense! But -- wearily and once again, I say -- we should not need to wait until the end of the season to understand what the hell is happening. By this point (over halfway through the season and show) we should have a v clear idea of the show's themes and the characters' arcs. And tbf, from what I can tell there are some fab things happening in other aspects of the show that I wish I could watch and enjoy. But my biggest fear at this point is that they are going to use Sam to solve Rebecca's childlessness. That, like Rupert (because the parallel cannot be avoided), she will become pregnant with a young fling and the show's attitude to this relationship will ultimately be: oh well, it was a bad idea and didn't work out for them but it was all for the best in the end cos who can be mad about a cute lil baaaayyybbbeeee??!! If they do go down this path then I will definitely be abstaining from the rest of the show. I will simply recall my repeated viewings of s1 with fondness tinged with regret at just how badly they fucked up a good thing.
Ultimately, Anon, I think this may be a case of there simply not being a diverse enough perspective in the writer's room. I am not saying that every single woman or every single person of colour will necessarily object to this relationship. I am simply saying that women and people of colour will be more sensitive to the issues of gender and race that are relevant here but that have not been fully or sensitively acknowledged in the writing of this plotline. Neither am I saying that Rebecca is the first woman to sleep with a man much (much, much, MUCH) younger than herself or indulge in an ill-advised relationship. But the comparison with Rupert both works here and doesn't because Rebecca is not being written like a white woman, she is being written like a white man. Realistically, only a white man can engage in this kind of hugely imbalanced relationship seemingly without any major moral qualms or societal ramifications. Not to put too fine a point on it, but this kind of relationship is reserved for all the Bills and Joes and Brendans and Jasons out there -- not for the Rebeccas and definitely not for the Sams. We are way beyond the point in feminism where we believe that liberation is simply the right for a white woman to behave as badly as a white man. The truth is that whatever wealth, power and privilege Rebecca has, the rules are different for men and women. She will not be treated the same as Rupert if and when this affair is uncovered. She will be treated far more savagely than Rupert ever was and Sam will be treated far more savagely than Bex was. This is not an argument for the equal treatment of these two relationships. It is an argument against how the relationship between Rebecca and Sam has been envisaged, i.e. through the wrong perspective. In writing from a 'neutral' white male pov, the show has invisiblised all the many issues activated by this storyline and revealed a blindspot that was always there.
As much as I loved and still love season 1 of this show, it has definite blindspots when it comes to representations of race and gender. There are at least two moments in s1 that stand out for me as being so obviously written by a man. Not necessarily because of what they do but because of what they don't do: what is missed, absent, unacknowledged. I was willing to overlook such minor failings in a debut season for many reasons. But s2 seems to have exacerbated these minor flaws rather than correcting them. And here I can't help thinking of Tina Fey speaking of the diversification of the writer's room at SNL during her tenure as co-headwriter. This notoriously male-dominated environment only began to shift and produce better work when a greater diversity of minds, voices and persepectives was allowed in the room. In this richer environment, she notes, different jokes played differently. Different sketches made it to air. Different perspectives were represented and different performers were celebrated. I can't help wondering if this plotline would have made it to air if there had been a female writer, a writer of colour or both further up the chain of command to challenge the ideas of the straight white dudes in charge.
One of the reasons I didn't think Ted Lasso was for me was that it centred a straight, white, cis-het, able-bodied man who rose to a position he didn't earn. That is just not a pov I would normally choose for myself, especially now that there is such a rich array of alternative perspectives through which to view the world. But I think the show won a lot of females fans with its first season largely due to its portrayal of Rebecca. She is the first person we meet. She is arguably the protagonist of s1. And while she would have been figured as a villain in previous pieces, the show never took that stance with her (because again, stance matters). Other elements like the depiction of female friendships, all centred around Rebecca, made this show female-friendly viewing. But imo, the major reason this show won over female fans (this one, at least) is because, in this post-MeToo, post-TimesUp era, it stood up and said: domestic violence is not okay, we stand with women and all victims of abuse, we will defend you, we know words can hurt, we know it can happen to anyone, we know all about toxic masculinity, we do not take this lightly and we will support you in your healing. Needless to say, this is how women hope men will act when they speak of their most difficult experiences but it is not how they always do.
The shift away from Rebecca this season has however meant that the white male experience is more centred than it was in s1. Rebecca's journey to recovery, health and happiness has been trivialised and sidelined, reduced to a highly questionable sexcapade. Meanwhile, we get overwrought manpain at every turn. We get Beard wandering around London (no, I haven't seen it and no, I don't need to. We've all been raised on white dudes thinking they're genuises when they have a figurative wank all over our screens). We get NO queer represention at all. And the only other female characters on screen are in care/service roles to men. The father/son, mentoring and toxic masculinity themes are all still there but they're no longer balanced out by ANY other competing perspective. One of the reasons I was okay with Ted failing upwards in s1 was that he used his power and privilege to lift up others. He was the one in service. He used his enormous privilege for good, as anyone with such privilege must. (Admittedly, it could be argued that this is just another version of a white savior narrative).
My point here is that I'm not sure that peeking behind the mask at the sad clown is as revolutionary as some might believe. We love it because it's familiar. But this is a narrative with a long and problematic history. Do I believe in tearing down toxic masculinity in all its forms? You bet. Do I believe that patriarchy traumatises men as well as women and every other minority in existence? I mean...nowhere near as much, but absolutely. Do I believe in men expressing their feelings and going to therapy? Wholeheartedly. But I am also aware that 100 or so years ago, we were in a very similar place with our narratives. Everyone is looking for a recapitulation of modernism and frankly, this might be an indicator of just that. Whenever women and people of colour have demanded rights and recognition, there has always been a resurgence of tales about just how frickin' hard it is to be a white man. Minority genders and non-white people have never in western history been as visible or vocal as they are now. So forgive me (or don't, I don't care) if I critique a show not only for centering fathers, sons, boys and men but for blindly and boldly writing one of its only female characters and one of its only black characters as if their gender and race just do not exist. There are many other power differentials at play in this relationship, including age, experience, wealth and position, but race and gender are the two that patriarchy is most invested in invisiblising. So I don't care how brilliant they think they are, I will not trust the writing of a bunch of white dudes trying to tell me that race and gender are irrelevant.

BL ask game
tagged by @sunsetknowsaboutyou  @snimeat  & @praninlove - thank you loves ♥♥
1. your all time favorite bl and why
Bad Buddy. It had everything i could want and more. i had high expectations for this since Aof is at the helm, and somehow it exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could have imagined. There was so much story told in twelve episodes and it was paced and developed so, so well. Patpran are also the healthiest couple I’ve seen potrayed in media, and thats what takes this show to the next level for me; as a sucker for established relationships, to be able see them be the best of friends, remain supportive and loving towards one another till the very end, and face every obstacle together, was a dream come true. It’s just a beautiful, feel good drama that subverted expectations and criticised so many harmful tropes. It was made with so much love and attention to detail, had a wonderful message, and a perfect conclusion. ♥
2. that one bl that scarred you for life
gaya sa pelikula and atots - like, i love them both with all my heart, but ep 8 of gsp broke me into smithereens and I haven’t been the same since. i can’t even talk about ep 9 of atots without crying tbh. the cliff scene at the end of the ep was both the most traumatic thing i’ve watched and the most healing. Phupha’s conversation with Tian is both a balm for my soul and a hammer to the heart.
3. is there any bl that made you feel very single?
bad buddy and still 2gether.
4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?
I wish Pete’s jealousy had been addressed at the end of dark blue kiss. I hate that it was brushed under a rug, that they never held him accountable for how unfair he was being towards Kao. Even if Pete had every reason to feel distrustful of Non, it doesn’t change the fact that his possessive behavior and unfair demands were out of line.
5. that one bl you detest (don’t hold back): I think watching LBC was a waste of my time. It was decent at the beginning, and then halfway through it became a mess. I don’t know how I managed to finish it, but by God, I wish I could have the time I wasted back. There’s a second one that comes to mind but 💀💀 i don’t feel like dying today, so I won’t name names. But I despise the main character with a burning hatred that could light up a thousand suns, but i’m in the minority so 🤷‍♀️
6. your top five:
Bad Buddy
A Tale Of Thousand Stars
Dark Blue Kiss
Gaya Sa Pelikula
2gether + Still2gether
7. that trashy bl that you lowkey like
Golden Blood. The acting was atrocious, the plot was a mess, I still think that Sky needs a psychiatric evaluation, but it was so entertaining to watch.
8. your favorite korean bl (it’s important we know)
Mr Heart was super, super cute. I watched it ages ago, so I dont remember why I liked it so much, but anytime anyone asks what my favourite BL is, thats the first one that comes to mind.
9. but also your top 3 for kbls
Mr Heart
Where Your Eyes Linger
??? i don’t remember watching any other one.
10. season 2? which one?
History 3: Trapped!!!! I need to know what happens next. That ending was just plain cruel.
11. a bunch of dramas will air soon. which ones are you the most excited for?
Moonlight Chicken - If I can’t have an atots special, another earthmix + khaotung show are what I’m living for. Vice Versa looks super fun, Never Let Me Go looks like a better version of Golden Blood, and The Eclipse has Khaotung and First as leads so <333

Criminal Minds Warning Compilation
This is a compilation of all submitted warnings in Criminal Minds in one place. I got frustrated having to constantly scroll through the tag so I figured I would compile them. Thank you to all the people who submitted! You guys help all of us so much :)
I am unsure if it’s complete past the end of Season Four as that’s where I’m at in the show. If I find any more I will send a warning in and hopefully eventually I’ll be able to say this list is complete. I usually just skip an episode if there’s a submitted warning as there’s little to no plot line through the show, so sorry if some of the warnings are vague.
This list is not completely spoiler free and not all of these are actual v* scenes. This show is surprisingly safe for emetophobes!
Unsafe episodes in Season One: 9 and 22.
Unsafe episodes in Season Two: 13.
Unsafe episodes in Season Four: 13, 15, and 24.
Unsafe episodes in Season Five: 7.
Unsafe episodes in Season Six: 7, 17, and 23.
Unsafe episodes in Season Seven: 1, 2, 6, 8, 12, and 22.
Unsafe episodes in Season Eight: 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 18, and 23.
Unsafe episodes in Season Nine: 1 and 12.
Unsafe episodes in Season Ten: 3.
Unsafe episodes in Season Eleven: 21.
Unsafe episodes in Season Thirteen: 1.
Season One: E9 (Derailed): 10 or 11 minute mark. Pregnant woman gets s*. Elle is talking to her and she says, “I think I’m gonna be s*.” No visual, just audio. E22 (The Fisher King Part One): 16 minute mark. Woman sees a body part and v*. No visual, just audio.
Season Two: E13 (No Way Out): 6:50-7:10. Gideon and Morgan are talking to a serial killer in a diner and it cuts to a police officer v*. After, the v* is still visible. It cuts back and forth from diner scene to police officers a few times but only one has a v* scene. Visual and audio.
Season Four: E13 (Bloodline): 12-12:45. Girl has epileptic seizure. Not v* but still triggering visual and audio. E15 (Zoe’s Reprise): 31 min mark. A girl Prentiss is interviewing says she’s going to be s*. Audio, unsure if visuals. E24 (Amplification): No v*, but lots of coughing, especially in first few minutes.
Season Five: E7 (The Performer): Warning is vague. “Not safe at all. Just skip it.”
Season Six: E7 (Middle Man): Multiple warnings.  1. Very brief v* after *SPOILER* Chris is made to kill Scott. Maybe mute from Scott’s death until after Chris stands up from sink. No visual, just audio. 2. 27:40, a man v*. Might be same as previous warning. Mute and look away for about 15 seconds. No visual, just audio.  E17 (Valhalla): Near end of episode, right after Prentiss says she needs some air. Some coughing and mention of the word v*. Later when she goes to her apartment to change her shoes you can see it. No visual, just audio. E23 (Big Sea): Multiple warnings. 1. 25 min. A man can be heard v*, it then shows it as someone yells at him to clean it up. 2. When the guy is being held captive in the boat, he looks up at the unsub and then down at the keys. He v*. Visual and audio. 3. 38 min. At end of episode, Agent Morgan is performing CPR on a girl. She v* water. Not too bad visual, but bad audio.
Season Seven: E1 (It Takes A Village): About halfway through the episode, there’s a flashback to a woman taking pills, and a man forces her to v*. Happens after Prentiss starts interrogating Doyle. Not that graphic but visual and audio. E2 (Proof): Around 21-22 min mark. When Tammy is shown at the dance, she says she’s not feeling good and clutches her stomach. There’s no v* but she acts like she will. Ends when Uncle Cy goes to hug her. Later in the episode, Tammy’s mom recounts the incident with Cy but nothing happens. E6 (Epilogue): 18:40 min. Chase starts trying to resuscitate the girl. The next scene shows a guy violently coughing and shows blood in his hand from coughing so much. He continues coughing. Could be triggering. E8 (Hope): A little past halfway through the ep when the woman finds her daughter. You can see it coming. Visual and audio. E12 (Unknown Subject): 3 min. Garcia is showing them pictures of a case. It’s hard to see but there’s v*. At 4:21, Prentiss asks, “what’s that on the floor?” And Garcia replies. Also, Garcia mentions there’s salt in the water which makes you v*. Skip until intro or look away. (4:59 is safe) E22 (Profiling 101): When Prentiss says something about the victim’s friend holding her hair, the victim bends over and v*. It lasts thirty seconds, so when Prentiss talks about the girl getting s* just mute and look away. Audio and visual.
Season Eight: E2 (The Pact): After Mr. Dolan is being interviewed, it cuts to Darlene v*. She talks and then g*. Mute and look away after Mr. Dolan is finished with JJ. Audio and visual. E5 (The Good Earth): V* is mentioned and not shown, but you see implied v* as people lean over. Also just a gross episode in general. E6 (The Apprenticeship): 9:40. When the kid asks Holly to cover his shift, he says he v* that morning to get out of work. E7 (The Fallen): At the end of the episode when the unsub is pouring bleach on the woman, she starts coughing. Sounds like v*. She also continues to g* after she’s rescued. It’s not too bad but could be triggering. E8 (The Wheels on the Bus…): After the girl shoots Trent and the guy says something about his blood, she v*. Lasts about 5-10 seconds. Audio, unsure if visuals. E18 (Restoration): Beuford gives Derek the list, and Derek v* after washing his hands. Mute after he finishes talking to Hotch. It’s over quickly. Visual and audio. E23 (Brother’s Hotchner): Multiple warnings.  1. In the beginning when the guy opens the stall and the girl is bleeding, she’ll fall to the floor and start coughing pretty bad. It ends in maybe 10 seconds. Audio and visual. 2. At around 8:40 min , a guy randomly spits blood. It happens/ends just as the beginning credits start. When the little girl starts to pray at the family dinner, both the parents begin to bleed like the other victims. the dad will cough before the screen goes black
Season Nine: E1 (The Inspiration Part One): Multiple warnings. 1. At around 6 min mark, girl v*. They also talk about it a few times. 2. At 21 min, a mother g* and s* out teeth. 3. After unsub kills girl in the shower, Blake asks about the v* when she’s at the coroner’s morgue. 4. When Rossi and Morgan find the girl in the park and mention her hair, Morgan says she probably v*. 5. When Hotch says “wheels up in 30” and the unsub is taking another woman into the woods, she v* when she says he’s going to fast. Lasts 5-10 seconds and only audio. (Possibly same as first warning) E12 (The Black Queen): At around 18:55 min. When Garcia and Morgan are testing microphone signal, Garcia says she feels like she’s gonna v*. Nothing happens though.
Season Ten: E3 (A Thousand Suns): When Reid and Kate go to look at the plane crash and start to look at the pilot’s seat, a few seconds later Reid will notice there is v* from the passengers on the ground. He just says the word and there is a visual but it doesn’t look very realistic. After the crowd of people at the station are asking questions about their loved ones on the plane Morgan and JJ will mention the v* again and talk about what caused it
Season Eleven: E21 (Devil’s Backbone): When the two boys are in the back of the van, one boy v*. No visual, just audio.
Season Thirteen: E1 (Wheels Up): Garcia and Simmons are in the car and Garcia says, “No creepy weird stuff.” There’s a lot of people looking s* and leaning over bowls. No visual that was noticed.
Happy watching!

I started watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tonight because I found out it was created by the creator of Gilmore Girls, but I almost turned it off about 6 times during the first episode, but then I just skipped through it a bit with the forward arrow occasionally, and saw when her douchecanoe husband left her and she ended up getting drunk and accidentally doing a comedy routine, and then I was hooked. I only watched 2 eps so far, though. I was glad to see Alex Bornstein in it because even though she was only in like 4 eps of Gilmore Girls (she played Drella, the harp player at the inn), I always thought she was funny. Also she’s done voices for like a million characters on Family Guy.
I want to finish my Gilmore Girls rewatch first, tho, even tho I haven’t watched it in like a week and I’m only like a little more than halfway through season 1.

3. REKI AND LANGA FINISH YOUR DAMN SENTENCES CHALLENGE. “after the final...” WHAT?? AFTER THE FINAL WHAT MOTHERFUCKER???? HONESTLY
4. tbh part of me expected an adam redemption arc but like??? i wasn’t the biggest fan of it tbh. like that motherfucker has been caught on camera literally fucking assaulting minors and people he’s competing against like???? he needs to fucking go to jail. i don’t mean to get political but i don’t like prisons and i’m an atheist but there’s a special place in hell for fuckers like that like jfc
5. SHADOW DESERVES BETTER I FELT SO SORRY FOR HIM LIKE WTF HOW DARE YOU. #JUSTICEFORSHADOW2k21
6. i personally don’t think the ep was SUUUPER baity??? like i understand peeps who say it’s queerbait but honestly there’s waaaaaay too much queercoding into this shit. langa literally said he LIKED reki and at the end of the ep he said langa was his happiness, so i gotta be real the bro and not lover energy was a bit disappointing, but tbh this happens a lot in sports anime i’ve heard.

8. last thing: i think the series is good with just one season, i don’t think we really NEED a second, but i’d be totally cool with one or more drama cd’s/extras/etc like they did with free
so yeah. those are basically my thoughts on the ep. i have too many feelings right now. i’m like fulfilled, disappointed, sad, a lot of things all at once. i will CHOOSE not to be productive for the rest of the day and likely all day tomorrow as well bc of this emotional-ass shit man. will my music theory homework get done? NOPE. will i do video observation hours for my 100 hours due at the end of the month even tho i’m only halfway there? NOPE. will i do any practicing? NOPE. will i get through the requests i got on my writing blog? NOPE. head empty but renga and this goddamn series live there rent-free.
also, now that i’ve gotten through that wave of excitement/anxiety/whatever the fuck that pre-episode emotional train was i can finally eat dinner bc my appetite is actually back and she’s here to stay.
so yeah i’m gonna go and listen the pain away with these four songs i found last night. oh and some movie soundtracks as well. also feel free to send me asks/dms/etc to scream with me i’d be more than happy to. uwu
