note to self: when given the option, nrc students like being called cool rather than adorable. i learned the hard way.

obviously i picked the adorable option (bc they all look so cute) and they were...ahem, slightly offended.

“Je t’aime, mon soleil.” Regulus whispers to James, lying on his side so he can face James properly on the bed.

As he speaks, James can feel Regulus’ light breath tickle the tips of his cheekbones, as well as the occasional brush of their noses. He smiles at the intimacy, before whispering back, “what does that mean?”

Regulus tilts his head, as much as he can in this position, and his cheek squishes up against the pillow adorably. “Mon soleil?”

“Mhm.” James hums as he lazily threads a hand through Regulus’ curls, smiling as Regulus’ eyes flutter shut at the feeling.

Slowly, Regulus snakes his arms around James’ back and intertwines their legs together, a gesture far too intimate and direct for Regulus to be fully conscious. For a moment, James thinks he actually has fallen asleep, until the soft sound of Regulus’ voice shatters the silence around them.

“Sun.” He mumbles against the pillow, his fingers flexing into James’ shirt. “It means my sun.”
