I'm gonna be anonymous when I say this because I have seen this done by many people... I strongly dislike the "Error and Nightmare gang are the good guys and trying to make the universe stable while The star sanses are the idiots who will not see reason" .. Like... I .. really? I'm not sure if the reason why I don't like it is because I have seen it so many times or what but it annoys me dearly. The members of the star sanses are reasonable and they are just often made as one sided ignorant people- I mean okay Lets go on the different pov, on the bad sanse side: You see them risk their lives every day getting themselves hurt over and over again all to defend different worlds for the sake of bringing what they believe to be peace and you label them as the fools who just want all the glory- really??? people who get hurt over and over again just do it for that stupid reasons??? I mean come on! Seeing as generally it is shown that the bad sanses want peace as well why not be trying to reach an agreement??? you fight over and over again and you couldn't even be bothered to try and reach their heads to finally listen to what you are saying like what "in a way" dream has done with nightmare countless times but they cant do the same? Just have them fight knowing that the other side are in the wrong and you choose to do nothing but break them?? Like is this your pride or something?? Why are they labelled as good guys yet they allow the other side to fight to their deaths with a good motive in mind but they only lack the full picture?? How am i suppose to "root for you" if this is what you do????? We get inside information of how peaceful they are and how they care for each other deeply, but if you care so much for each other why would you allow the other side to keep fighting your loved ones when they are missing the big picture, you know the big picture yet you say... NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH!! you cannot tell me that they don't listen to you when you barely speak up about the true issue or find a way to show them- you maybe say it once or twice in the whole story and then any other time you go straight to fighting or just avoid them.. COWARDS!! ALL OF THEM!! And in these stories the star sanses always state their reasons for their interference yet you cannot tell them why you are doing this?? All that comes out your mouth are insults and sneers, who would want to believe you when that is all the comes out of your MOUTHS... Excuse me... Just pissed sorry for the long rant.. Oh my gosh AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON DREAM AND NIGHTMARE, DUDE YOU GOT THE BALLS TO BLAME YOUR KID BROTHER FOR BEING A KID AND NOT RECOGNISING YOUR TRAUMA EVEN NOW AS YOU ARE MUCH MORE MATURE AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU BOTH AS CHILDREN????? Is he the one holding onto the past or is it you??? Night is always depicted as the dadmare, boss, the caring lover, the brother yet he doesn't even have the decency to face the fact he abandoned his brother in stone for 500 years or so, when he comes out you automatically hate him for something he had no idea or control of and choose to ignore his pleads, when your brother wants to reach you, you break him over and over again not wanting him in your life ever again when as i said before he was your "KID BROTHER" and you want to tell me your the good one for just wanting to cut him off with no answers or anything? You gotta be pulling my leg bro... and it would be a different story if the dreamtale background is different but no! it isnt! nothing is said to make it seem dream was an abuser of sorts, they were both hurt and yet you blame dream for all of it you have a whole ass support system yet that is your mindset??? I cant.... I really cant Uh sorry again for this long ass rant though =w=

my two cents on this (that isn't something i said. a million times before already) is that it's usually because people refuse to see the star sanses in the same light they do the bad sanses the people who actively dislike the star sanses and what they do usually do so because they can't relate to them, from what i've noticed

the bad sanses are easier to root for because of the fact that they are made of struggle and the dirty, gritty parts of morality and life so to say it's easier to think of good things in the middle of so much bad, because it's in our nature as people to look for hope or root for the good, no matter how little it is having the ability to look for goodness and love in so much evil is a form of love in of itself everybody struggles and life sucks and sometimes the world is evil and sometimes we do bad things, but that's the thing, the fact that we as people find something good in the middle of it all (like finding familial love bloom in the bad sanses, as an example) is very inspiring. at least to me!!! that's how i see it!!!! that's how i like to think people see it as well because that's how i see and enjoy them together so i can totally see why people find more relatability and love for the bad sanses. i really do get it and i agree!! like a lot!!!!! i love them too

but that exact reason is also why it really sucks that people just don't see the star sanses in the same light?

i wanna reemphasize my point in relatability: it's difficult for most people to relate to the star sanses because inherently they are the heroes, the protagonists, the main characters, because nobody are any of those things i feel like people often put them on a pedestal because of their central tropes and characteristics. they have it all already, they don't need more praise, right?

i think the biggest problem people have with the star sanses, like your whole ramble very clearly shows, is that they don't humanize them i feel like a lot of people assume that just because they are good and choose to be good and are praised for being good, they are unreachable people don't think they struggle. that it sucks being that.

it's often why i like writing the star sanses with so much struggle and so much mental illness lol, because being good is fucking HARD and they're as imperfect as everybody else. dream is anxious, ink is brash, blue is a workaholic, stuff like that

there's a lot to say but it's just....the bad sanses and the star sanses are two sides of the same coin. the bad sanses is finding good in the middle of, basically, evil and misdeed the star sanses is finding struggle in the middle of trying to do good

people often portray both of them black and white morals and it's why it gets frustrating and flat and badly written.

idk, just like how i find inspiration in the bad sanses of finding hope and love in the middle of darkness, i really admire the implications of the star sanses when you actually decide to humanize them. because if you make the star sanses struggle throughout their praise, glory, and righteousness, it's...really admirable that they still choose to do good.

like you said, the star sanses risk their lives often and fight, offering treaties and agreements, just to make things right that's so??? admirable????? like for the amount of times the bad sanses fucking fight them, i genuinely would've just given up completely, but they just....don't??? and that's so admirable and sweet? it makes them so deserving of their titles as guardians.

idk!!! this is a massive ramble too, i don't even know where i was going with it but like, yeah, i think i wanted to talk mostly about why people preferred the bad sanses over the star sanses and how it makes me sad i get you anon. with my whole body and my whole soul. i understand what you mean and i see you

first day as the envoy of Yan, and i have a brilliant, amazing, fool-proof plan to assassinate the warmongering tyrant of Qin. I've got the head of a famous general inside a box, a poison dagger hidden inside a map and my backup is ruthless murderer who killed a man at age 13. mark my words, this day will go down in history!

update: my backup got cold feet and became catatonic with fear the moment we set foot in the palace. i quickly spun a story about him being a country bumpkin who was suffering culture shock but now the guards are suspicious and i have to approach the throne room alone--well, mostly alone. Oh, General-Inside-A-Box, we're really in it now.

update: the Warmonger laughed at my joke! i am going to get a good evaluation for regicide, which is normal to want and possible to achieve.

update: it's time to present the map. my palms are sweaty, knees weak and this scroll feels so heavy. i regret eating so much of my niang's dalu mian beforehand because someone didn't put enough salt inside this box and the general (heaven rest his brave soul) is starting to smell and to be honest it's making me a little nauseous. the fear rises in my gullet, strong and acrid, threatening to choke me, but i force it down and put on a brave front, like a swan on a tranquil lake, kicking like mad underneath. this is my one opportunity and i cannot let it slip away. Yan is too small to meet the might of this tyrant in open battle. for the sake of my people and all that i love, i must prevail.

update: i missed.

update: i am now chasing the Warmonger around the throne room. he cant unsheathe his Hugely Impractical Ceremonial Sword and none of his ministers are permitted to carry weapons so they just stand on the sidelines yelling advice. eventually the court physician comes to his senses and throws his medicine bag at me, giving the Warmonger an opening to finally get his sword out and cut me down. i throw my knife at him (also missed) as a final act of defiance but frankly speaking, there's not much face left to salvage here. when i enter the afterlife, the general is laughing so hard his head almost falls off again. i am never going to live this down.

update: I go down in history as a hero and one of the Five Great Assassins. really makes you wonder about the other four.

The story takes place in 228 BC, the King of Qin is in the middle of a brutal war of conquest. In the span of just ten years (In 230--221 BC) he will unify china and become the first Emperor (the terracotta warriors belong to him). He will go down in history as both a cruel tyrant and brilliant statesman, to call him influential is to say the Yangtze river is "just a big puddle."

Jing ke -- (the assassin) originally hails from the state of Wei, which was conquered by Qin, afterwards he became a retainer of Yan and joined the plot to seek revenge. I simplified the story a lot for the sake of narrative clarity.

General Huan Yi -- former general of Qin who lost favour with the King. In an absolute bro move, he agreed to commit suicide and let his head be used as a "gift" for the assassination attempt. I couldn't find any sources on how severed heads were preserved during this time, but drying + curing with salt seemed pretty reasonable so i went with that.

Jing Ke's buddy Gao Jianli (who is a famous musician) ALSO tries to kill King Qin to avenge his friend's death. He was recognised and blinded before his first attempt, but was allowed to stay. During this time, he ingratiated himself with the king and hid weights inside his instrument, biding his time until he could get close enough to take a swing (spoiler: he also missed).

helloo was gonna ask about vox's power and purpose. i wonder what's on your mind since vox's best power was to control a large community in origin. how bro gonna protect the hotel by watching around? (just remembered he owns val and vel's souls so hb style? lol) does he even have the overlord bff to help fighting eve? or will he?

being mysterious and wanting to see people suffer doesn't sound like him. (and al as vox is actually scary like is he still a sadistic? hell cant handle all of that.) in one sentence, wanted to hear your plans about ugly ass tv man

Ok because Alastor and Vox swap role in this AU and HH never show us both of thei real purposes so we will have to be honest here, we didn't have a plan for what he wants now. Yes, he is under a contract like Al. Yes, he wants to break free but I think what Vox wants will be more than that because in the end, he is still a real greedy piece of shit.

Hard for us to explain everything when in SS1, we don't get to know much about both him and Al but only their surface personalities. But we want to build a deeper personality for Vox than just being a cringy villain that simply wants more power. He is 50s and has already been in Hell for more than 100 years, we want him to be a bit more mature and knows what he wants, but not even the other Vees know about his plan. Like when he's in front of everyone in the hotel, he shows his business side, combining with some of his real personality, showing Emily that he "cares" and wants to help.

But in reality, Vel and Val can predict that Vox has smt big planned in his mind because if Vox really wanted to help, he would have helped the hotel become famous but instead he keeps the hotel's reputation low and did shitty commercials...

Well, for Vox, he didn't act mysterious but I think the interesting thing about him is that he still shows the hotel more of his true personality. People will still hear him screaming "FUCK YOU ALASTOR!!!" in his tower and start asking "This is like the fifth time this week.", seeing him tired when he has to worked too much, knowing about his little duet with Alastor causing Lute to ask Emily again, "You sure this is the guy who can help us with the hotel?"...

Basically, he didn't act like Alastor and show that he has it all and that he's perfect or something like that. People in the hotel know about his loser side, plus he joins in more of the hotel's activities than Al in the original series even if he doesn't want to. This makes people let their guard down and rarely ask about his real motivation through time. For Alastor, people can tell he is hiding something because he act mysterious, he is evil and can't be trusted but with Vox, the more the season went on, the more they questioned is this the real him or not? He may not care about seeing people suffer or not but we think he sure wants more than just power. This is the Vox we want to build, we guess so?

About his power, yes he can still hypnotizes people and use that on the intruders so they kill each other and themselves, he can even upgrade the hotel so when intruders come, a hologram shield will turn on and weapons can come out anywhere and kill them all.

He didn't have any bff, and only 2 can be considered as his besties. He fooled them and took control of their souls. His relationship with other overlords either on neutral terms or on bad terms. Still, he can still find an army just not the cannibals like in the main series from asking help from another overlord, the one that we think will likely to have had some business deal here and there with him in the past, likely to buy and care about his products - Zeezi.

I guess that's all that we have in our head for Vox for now. We may change some or add more for him in the future. But I guess we're also excited to imagine his interaction with the hotel members.

"Are you talking to Iwaizumi?" Matsukawa asks quietly, pretending to pay attention to the physics problem the teacher is explaining on the board.

Sitting next to him, in the back row, Oikawa stiffens, raising his head toward Issei, and blinking. His lips are curved into a soft smile that he hasn't given him time to disguise.

"What?"

Mattsun smiles, peeling his eyes away from the board to direct them towards Tooru's phone on the table. It’s tucked under the thick physics book, screen on and brightness at minimum.

“You’re not subtle at all.”

Oikawa’s cheeks quickly turn red and he frowns, narrowing his big eyes.

“I’m not talking to Iwa-chan, it’s just… mom”

“Do you smile like a fool in love with your mom?”

"Actually, I didn't say it's my mom, maybe I'm talking to yours" He smiles proudly, but Issei arches an eyebrow, maintaining eye contact, amused watching Oikawa's ears also turn red and his lips quiver.

"Nice try, but you're not convincing at all."

Tooru's expression turns into a pout and he snorts, averting his gaze.

"... It’s Iwa-chan" He mumbles.

"Mmh" He hums, expanding his lazy smile as he turns his vision back towards the board. "Lovebirds"

"We're not!" He babbles too loudly, grabbing the attention of the class and halting the teacher's explanation.

Matsukawa has to make a titanic effort not to laugh as Oikawa (who curses him under his breath) quickly turns away, sketching his best innocent smile, the one that says I’m the best and more reliable student.

"Is there something you'd like to share with the class, Oikawa-kun?" The sensei arches an eyebrow, one hand on her waist and the other holding the chalk.

"Just how well you teach the class, sensei" He broadens his smile, cocking his head slightly in a gesture he knows no one can resist.

The sensei blinks slightly in surprise, letting out an oh, thank you before smiling back at him and continuing with the explanation.

Oikawa sighs and, frowning again, pinches Matsukawa's thigh under the table when he hears him cough to hide the laughter.

"This is your fault" He sticks his tongue out at him, slouching back over his book (his phone, actually).

Matsukawa rolls his eyes in enjoyment, again pretending to be understanding Coulomb's law. It's only a matter of seconds until Tooru is visibly more relaxed and when Issei glances sideways at him, he finds him again grinning dumbly at his phone, typing subtly.

Instead of lovebirds, fool-birds, he thinks, making sure the sensei is still engrossed in her explanation before lifting the cover of his own book where he has hidden his phone and glancing at the latest messages he has received from Hanamaki.

Ngl in my head I've been thinking of a really ooc prank for Leo and Mikey to do. And ik it,s ooc but. Im thibkin boit it so why tf not.

This would be even funnier if Leo sugested it too.

Imagine this: it's april fools' witching hour and. and Leo goes into Mikey room to wake him up (because privscy, boundaries and sleep mean nothing to him anymore) and tells him bouta this awesome plan and the nicest prank he could pull probably despite its slightly mentally torturing aspect while Mikey stifles the want to strangle him for bustin down his door at 3 am.

Leo's prank idea is as follows: tje 2 most pranky... Won't prank as usual today. Furthermore, they will be iverly accomodating, nice, and generous ('generous' as in giving ppl things usually used in a prank, like a pie or a can of pb but it's not the prank version). Studies show that dread can be considered a method of torture that can even outweigh pain in certain cases.

So the plan is to both become suspiciously over-the-top nice for the whole day, just to build a sense of mind-fucking dread.

And Mikey's thinkin 'gives me an excuse to be extra nice to Raph and Don, and forces Leo to act nice and accomodating,,, for a whole 24 hours,,,' and that's why he would agree to work with Leo for her prank plan.

like after all that shite even tho it stretched him out like saltwater taffy naruto is truly not not not not mad at sasuke for any of it. he doesnt hold anything that sasuke did actually against him. in a technical sense hes like yeah you probably shouldntve killed those guys. but he fully blames sasukes circumstances and the pain that hes in for everything that he did. he cant stay mad at sasuke. rolls my eyes. cause he recognizes what drove sasuke to act the way he did and that the world is so so fucked and even if he should hold it against him naruto really does not want to he just wants his best friend back. sasuke tried to kill naruto because sasuke loves naruto and hates himself, and naruto recognizes that this is the reason. and that you have to be in so much pain to want to do that as badly as sasuke did, and he could feel it too every time he looked at sasuke or just thought about him he felt like he was being ripped in two. he realizes that sasuke has growing and learning and changing to do but he doesnt consider sasuke to have " put him through" anything like. naruto put himself through that and i think he'd be the first to tell that to you. im saving sasuke because i want to save him. that was the premise of the whole conversation with sakura in the land of iron like "why are you doing all this for sasuke" -> "because i want to". and i think if anyone tried to be like look what he put you through!!! he'd rip them a new one. which i mean a bunch of people sayig that to him is what pushed him over the edge in such a fashion that seeing sasuke face to face and swearing to die alongside him was the only thing that could bring him back from the brink.

anyways i just do not think sakura has the bandwidth (understandably) for that perspective considering i dont think she feels like she's choosing to go after sasuke in the same way that naruto does. and its not rightreally to call it a choice because obviously he doesnt get in bed every night and be like tonight i will think about sasuke and feel like im dying over and over again, but he decided to. this is two different posts but im stream of consciousnessing it into one. he very distinctly decided not to give up on sasuke i mean there was like. literally the scene where jiraiya was like drop it its not worth it go after your dream only a fool would keep going after sasuke now. and naruto says if thats what a fool is then ill be a fool my whole life. gag. anyways. obviously sakura wants to help sasuke 10000% she wants to help naruto she wants him back she wants the old team 7 back she loves sasuke etc im not trying to say none of that is true, but i dont think she feels like she is quite as active an agent in that decision as naruto does. while naruto thinks theyre on the same page about wanting to save sasuke because they both love him, sakura is quite quick to believe that naruto wants to save sasuke because HE feels obligated. she gets fed up with him for choosing sasuke every time over and over no matter what, she's sick of it! she cant do it anymore! she decides to kill sasuke because she feels driven into a corner, she feels like she has to because she DOES CARE ABOUTHIM and theres NOTHING ELSE FOR HER TO DO. SHE FEELS LIKE SHE HAS TO. ALSO part of her resolve to kill him is that she feels guilty for leaning on naruto so mcuh and relying on him to fix things, so she wants to deal with this situation for both of them which makes this like. very potently an obligation for her. she is killing him as (in her eyes) a noble act. she's tired bro SHES TIRED!

she drops it because naruto gives her hope that theres another way, not because she shares naruto's refusal to accept that there ISNT another way; she has to be shown what it is (understandably so, narutos route is bonkers insane that boy is unwell.) she has absolutely been put through the wringer BY sasuke more than naruto has (in terms of their own povs; in actuality idk im not commenting on that) and chasing after him feels less like an active choice on her part and more of an obligation to the memory of the old team 7, especially in the tail end of shippuden. and again she doesnt understand why sasuke acted the way that he did like naruto does, so immediately the room for understanding is way more narrow on her end in terms of blaming his circumstances rather than him. so for her to be not really able to stand him and way less quick to drop it all, in comparison to naruto, makes soooo so soosoo much more sense than whatever the fuck happens actually. she should be so mad
