i am so extra pissed off now bc i went out with my mom but it’s our week to stay at my dad’s and y’all know about my laptop and her issues so i left her there bc she was already plugged in and like not losing charge or anything and i was in the middle of one of the spotify gifsets and i assumed i would just be back soon enough and every plan i had for getting back before 9 pm went to SHIT and now my dad is like all the way asleep and won’t be carrying me back to his (i cannot stress enough that it is less than a two minute walk from where i am now.) so now i just have to. cope with that i guess

i wish i could articulate my feelings on across the spiderverse better

Cole wasnt “changed” to be gay. He never was STRAIGHT in the first place.

and hell- whi says he’s strictly gay now? Cole could like girls as well for all we know 🤷‍♀️ uk like, be a Bi king or smth.

The thing is, just like people are used to seeing characters from books as white as a default until stated otherwise, just because they’re so used to it, this happens with straightness as well.

People are will BEG and SWEAR that a character is straight just because they were never outright stated to be otherwise. And emphasis on “outright stated” because even when there is coding, hinting or just blatant portrayal of it, people will still deny that that certain character is queer because it’s not like they canonically turned to the camera and told the audience that “I AM NOT STRAIGHT.”

But to them, even if the character rarely showed any interest in the opposite gender or ever really talked ab their attraction, the character is just automatically straight. It’s just inherent. Of course they’re straight.

And you know what? Even if the character does, who said Bi people don’t exist? I have a lot of Bi friends and a family member that either are bi or are dating a bi person, and their attraction towards the opposite gender has never invalidated their attraction towards the same if gender non-conforming.

And even then, a lot of gay men or lesbians have struggled with comp-het in the past, reuniting them in having tried to date or even marry people from the opposite gender only to then realize they never truly were straight, and were just compulsively trying to conform or believe that they are straight because again, straightness has always been seen as the status quo. As the normal thing to be. The default.

And this isn’t me saying that “the writers were writing Cole as a dude with comp-het this whole time” or smth because I don’t know that. And while I could theorize that I don’t think the writers really were thinking about implementing compulsive heterosexuality into this silly Lego show.

But just like I can’t assure that Cole canonically has suffered from comp-het or that he is gay and not Bi or hell he could be asexual or smth while being gay WHO KNOWS-but just like we can’t exactly assure that he is exactly one of those labels, people cannot come here and act like Cole was ever REALLY canonically straight. Hell. You could even say None of the characters of the show are STRAIGHT because who said they were? You can def interpret them as straight! But why do people insist on acting as if portraying Cole as having a male character a romantic interest as them CHANGING him as if he really ever WAS straight?

No one acts that when a character is straight that it was a huge betrayal or smth because the character was “OBVIOUSLY” gay by default. No. People just see it as normal and move on because that has always been the status quo.

Because this is a heteronormative society as much as people try to act as if making a character gay is “appealing to the world and the general public” as if straight people are suddenly oppressed. Hetero friends of mine or my family will always automatically assume I’m straight because that’s the norm to them. People will always assume someone it het or cis unless outright stated otherwise.

And if you can’t tell what’s wrong with that…

And you know what? Get all pissed off about it. Complain. Make petition for “saving your boy Cole” (save him from what exactly? It’s not like Christianity exists in Ninjago so yall can scratch hell out of the list at least) the season was made. The character of Geo was made. It’s so funny how Chayanne the egg is cursed with the 4th wall breaking no matter which admin plays him AHAHAHAHA. From being terrorized by Phil for being Cucurucho and Challulah, being feared by citizens prone to commiting illegal acts, being bothered by other members for cucurucho related stuff, being called “boss” by his egg siblings and now Etoiles teasing him because he beat him as the Code. Our little egg has so many part time jobs my gosh. He now also took on the role of babysitter for Tubbo lol. Anything to support his other poor foolish skull headed father. Give our poor little egg a break, justice for Chayanne.

I think all three admins who mainly play chayanne, QNPC01, 02, and 06 should all be considered main admins at this point. They all suffer the same fate of the non existent 4th wall, they are literally just the same egg lol. I have a headcannon that the difference in personality (def not admins wink wink), are just a result of the change in Chayanne’s environment.

When he is played by QNPC02 aka Challulah, he becomes much more mellow and less active mostly because those are moments when he is not with Tallulah. He doesn’t need to be as alert and vigilant since he doesn’t need to protect her. He doesn’t jump and run around because without Tallulah, Phil can speedrun his tasks better and doesn’t get bored as much. He also talks more because between both of them, He says he’s not good with words so Tallulah is the one who does most of the talking. When Tallulah is not around he has to carry the conversation more.

QNPC01 or Nussa is the og Chayanne admin and he is very much the little warrior we all know and love. He loves to cook and does the checkerboard potato crate pattern on the ground when he’s bored. QNPC06 is mostly the same but he just forgot how to speak Spanish anymore since he rarely had the chance to use it since Missa left. But Missa is back now and for sure he will teach his child Spanish again.

I think 06 has started to become Chayanne’s main admin and I am not complaining. He is doing such a good job specially because sometimes I forget that he’s not 01 until I see his username on the minimap ahaha. Even so, I’ll be lying if I say I don’t miss Nussa as Chayanne. I hope he comes back some time when he’s available. As much as I look forward to the new, refreshing, and angst loaded dynamic between Missa and 06, I wanted 01 to interact with Missa again so bad since Nussa was the one who Missa was with in the beginning and has all the memories of their time together.

these are all autistic hcs since @madreemeritus asked for more, i am happy to deliver on more of one of my favorites boys!

let's start off strong with this mans EGO, alot of autistic people are kind of full of ourselves lol this man is always boasting how articulate and amazing he is and how better he is at everything than you (example: playing the organ)

2. he has the opposite of sensory overload this man has sensory UNDERLOAD he will nearly go deaf with all the loud music cheering and clapping going on in the opera, he loves loves loves the sounds.

3. nervously picks and bites at his skin around his nails, he gets very understimulated and needs some type of sensory outpit, so picking it is! (me too)

4. one word. Dysgraphia. This man's handwriting is SHIT (again me too)

5. hygiene is not that great... his breath prob smells like straight up cyanide and ass, anyways hygiene is something all autistic people deal with in one way or another, like we forget to brush our teeth or purposely don't because it feels horrendous.

6. stimming! stimming! stimming! he definitely does this especially at points where Christine holds his hand ever so gently, or how she hits the most perfect high note on stage. he can't help but jump a little, or alot lol

7. he occasionally deals with echolalia, when Christine tells him "i love you Erik" he will get giddy and repeat it 10 times over, not just for reassurance but because it makes him so happy, "Christine loves Erik!"

8. he may not deal with sound sensitivity but textures are def a big NO. he must only wear silks and soft materials, he will complain of a thousand prickles on his skin if you make him wear such cheap and horrible textures.

9. again with the textures is food, i feel like since the acid hit his mouth his teeth must have been affected making them weaker. he tends to eat much softer foods, like puddings, soups.

10. thought about this last one alot and I think he might have light sensitivity as well, since he only uses candles to light his dark bedroom, and likes to keep the lights off in his private box. His eyes were badly injures, leaving them extremely sensitive to light.

I love how you just pointed out that the Hero’s Aspect opens the door for theorizing because like…for all the stuff that is unexplained in totk, I actually like it that way BECAUSE I can make theories, you know? I feel like people wanted stuff shoved in their faces and just chalked it up to “Nintendo is lazy” when they didn’t get that.

I am sort of split between the sentiments? Some unexplained things are soooo fun to explore and analyze because like you said, it is not in-your-face obvious what they mean and they could mean a million different things! They exist, they are there, they were definitely put in the game to be noticed, and yet they weren't explained. For example, the Hero's Aspect, or the connection between dragons and Zonai, or the exact locations of the ancient palace and temples and other places we see in the Tears. I only need a little clue and I will be thinking about it for months, exploring and looking and reading and having so much fun without EVER having my theories proven right. Headcanons are fun!!! Imagination is fun!!! BotW and TotK lean into it with their entire weighs. You make your own story in these games.

On the other hand, some things are sooo weirdly retcon-y, even when only compared to BotW. Why does the Zonai Forgotten Temple predate the Loftwing-style Forgotten Temple and doesn't even feature Hylia's statue? Why are we establishing Rauru as the one from whom Zelda inherits her sealing powers instead of Hylia? Why is Gerudo King Ganondorf given a totally different backstory to the one he had in BotW? The funniest thing is that these issues are so easily fixed. Reframe the beginning of the cutscene so we never enter the Forgotten Temple proper and stick to the Zonai rooms. Make Sonia the one with the sealing powers and the Zonai ancestors the one with the time powers. The Ganon one is not from the main game and is instead from the Creating a Champion book so it can technically be overlooked, but still, big L for me and every other person lovingly thumbing through that book.

And then there is the third option, some things are double-edged from the get-go. I don't need an explanation for where the Sheikah tech went - obviously it was either dismantled or repurposed, and the PurahPad and the towers still work powered on the blue source so it's not like it magically disappeared... But what happened to the Divine Beasts, the enormous semi-sentient machines that def can't be dismantled like that???? Couldn't SOMEONE maybe mention that they idk. Went unresponsive when the shrines retracted so they hid them away until they are needed again. OR, why does only half the NPCs remember Link, instead of either everyone forgetting or everyone remembering him and avoiding this weird distance created by half-assing it? Basically, I totally understand why people don't like it because I also dislike it, it's not game-breaking but why not just go all the way.

This was a long-winded way to say that while I absolutely agree that the speculation and theorizing is one of the most fun parts of both the games, it is also disheartening to be tripped up by the devs throwing their own lore in the trash, so I sort of get the complainers. I don't believe in the Big Timeline and will never complain about games not adhering to it, but I am pretty disappointed the devs didn't pay closer attention to keeping the lore clear between sequels at least, ESPECIALLY because it's so clear they were wonderfully pedant about other parts of it.
