Cole should've never been straight. He has never been straight, and should have never been not gay. Nothing against straight characters, but Cole has been gay for 10+ years. We all grew up with Gay Cole so why would we let them change him for absolutely no reason? The new writer should've just kept him gay, not change and rewrite one of the best characters in history. Sign this petition if you think Cole should still be gay. Once we reach a good amount of people who have signed, I will not contact the new writer on instragram cause that's really fucking weird.

Maybe I'm exaggerating but… I think DR is the best case of "next generation" done right. Every time I see a media trying to do this for some reason there is a recurrence of disrespecting the previous generation, or shitting on previous characters in terms of writing to make the next generation look better. DR has none of that, and the way it integrates both old and new characters so that they still feel like part of the same (but now bigger) family is what makes it work for me.

A reason why I specifically like Dragons Rising is the fact that they use two main characters of the opposite gender, not because they're shown as platonic either, the fact that it's sending a message that the show is okay for anyone to watch, regardless of gender.

With the original show that was a bit harder, since 5/6 of the main ninja were all male. I feel like DR does a really good job at making sure not to have one gender prevail over the other, on both the good guys and villains.

In addition to being a terrific follow-up/sequel, it's also a genuinely good show in today's culture, no matter what anyone else says. The morals, ideas, concepts, and heavy topics it captures are genuinely so surprising for what's marketed as a kids show.

Dragons Rising is truly a show for everyone, and people who can't accept every representation in it don't deserve to have the show. <3
