TMKATI au assorted ask:
I apologise for the lack of updates on "The Monkey King and the Infant" as I've been in college/getting my first real job. So I decided to compile some related asks together to answer some questions. I hope to throw together a true timeline soon when I have the time.
Short questions that I can answer quickly:
LBD ultimately wants the Harbringer (aka MK) to act as her weapon to create a new world. The Bone Mech is merely a suit of armor for her champion. She specifically allows Macaque to be revived/surface in order to catch the Comet and bring the Harbringer's Egg to her. This plan ofc doesn't go as planned due to the Egg cracking upon hitting the ground + Wukong being there. But LBD can plan around unexpected deviations.
The Scroll of Memory *does* occur in the TMKATI au, though the events surrounding it are much different. Namely the inclusion of Chenxiang - grand nephew of the Jade Emperor and Wukong's first ever student. I've altered the timeline a bit so Chenxiang (perma-stuck as a damaged teenager) only shows up post-S3 for Reasons. Namely that involving Erlang Shen...
MK will be in danger during the events of the fic, and will need his friends and family to step in to save their boy. Namely during S3. Thats all I willl say.
Haha! Basically the shadowpeach monkeys are the Incredibles of demonic demogods. Just wanting to stay out of trouble and raise their kids. Pretty much imagine if their S4 finale outfits were their defaults.
Due to the population of Monkey demons mostly fleeing FFM in the aftermath of the Burning + incorporating into existing villages, the island is pretty much a deserted kingdom with only Wukong there to mind it outside of yearly pilgrimages or festivals. Wukong prefers it this way since in his mind it keeps everyone safe from the eyes of Heaven. By the later parts of TMKATI him and Macaque begin to step up as rulers once more with the threat of LBD, the Brotherhood, and others on the horizon.
MK and the kiddos are a little flumoxed ofc, since they go from being the kids of a noodle shop worker and a threatre actor to literal demon royalty over the course of the series.

Chapter Summary: Chai returns to Pabu with interesting news for all of you that will shake everything you’ve worked to repair.
Authors Note: Here we are! The second to last chapter before the end of this fic! I can’t believe we’re already almost there! I sadly don’t foresee the final part being finished before the premier of S3 of Bad Batch but I’ll def do my best to get it done soon!
If you haven’t seen my previous updates in regards to the final season! The events of The Complete Series have already been pre-planed and outlined for each fic! Nothing will change unless I find it massively imperative to the story!
Calm, well as calm as things can be when you’re making clothes to outfit an army. Or more directly ex-army. Somehow you’d been talked into supplying clothes, along with others, to Chai’s new business. She wouldn’t give too many details, apparently the less you knew the better, but she’d taken on supplying clothes to those who’d served in the war and their families. Wrecker had told you that they were important men to him and his brothers. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that they were mainly clones. There were those rare moments where you sent children's clothing as well that made you wonder who else was being helped. You didn’t push to find out.
You were proud of Chai. It had been six months since Tech’s death and although things were rough in the beginning, she seemed to be doing better. She was helping those in need and running a successful business on an entirely different planet. At least you figured it was successful with how much you were being paid for making all this clothing. You could have sworn you’d heard Crosshair mention something about wealthy donors but once again, you didn’t push. If it was this much of a secret then you’d let Wrecker and the others keep it. All you knew was that those you cared for were helping those in need. That was enough for you.
So when Chai returned suddenly to Pabu and asked to talk to you, you were a bit surprised.
“C-Chai! What are you doing here?” Standing in the doorway of your home, you took in the almost frazzled look on her face. “Are you okay? What happened?” Your hand moved to her forehead where a healing cut could be seen.
“I needed to leave. Can I come in?” She fidgeted slightly before stepping in when you moved to the side. Her eyes looked around at your home and she smiled softly at the signs of a family living here, not just you. On the dining table was a handmade clay vase that housed a bouquet. A few new holo-flats of you, Omega, and Wrecker had been added to the walls and a child’s jacket could be seen on the couch. “Omegas at school?”
“Yeah, Wrecker’s down at the docks helping bring it today's catch. Sounds like it was a good one if they needed his help.” You moved into the kitchen and grabbed the tart you’d made the night before and two plates. “Sorry about the mess. Omega had her first sleepover a few nights ago and we’re still recovering.” Five little girls did more damage than you thought possible.
Chai followed behind you and grabbed two glasses and a pitcher of water from the fridge. “Wow, sounds like everyone’s settling in.”
Placing the plates on the table, you nodded. “It’s taken some work, but I think we’re finally getting back to normal. Omega’s making a lot of friends at school and even Crosshair is settling in.”
“Are they still having nightmares?” Chai placed the glasses down before taking a seat at the table, the bag she’d been carrying sat on the floor next to her leg.
You chewed your lip for a moment before sighing softly and sitting down. “Periodically. But calming down after is getting easier.”
“That’s good.” Pouring two glasses of water, Chai chewed her lip for a solid minute. It was clear there was something on her mind.
“Chai. What’s going on?” You reached across the table and took one of her hands in yours. “What happened? How did you get this?” You pointed to the cut on her forehead.
She reached up with her free hand and carefully touched the still-tender cut. “Fang. He attacked me behind the shop.”
“What? I hope you taught him a lesson.” You moved to stand but felt yourself pulled back down.
“I did my best but someone ended up stepping in and saving me.” Chai didn’t make eye contact with you as she spoke, clearly glossing over something.
“You know that Crosshair and Hunter are going to demand you take self-defense lessons now, right?” Releasing her hand, you grabbed the knife and cut two slices of tart. All of the boys had taken on caring for Chai. No doubt feeling a sense of duty to protect her and be there for her in Techs sted. “Did you get the name of your savior? I hope you thanked him properly.”
Chai watched as you placed a slice of tart on a plate and passed it to her before plating one for yourself. “It was…Tech.”
Your hand froze over the piece of tart in front of you. “Wh-what?” You had to be hearing things. Maybe she said a different name?
“It was Tech who saved me. He’s…alive.” The look of disbelief on your face seemed to match hers at the time.
Blinking rapidly, you tried to focus on her words. She was being serious, wasn’t she? “Ch-Chai, are you sure? It’s not someone who looks like him?”
Chai reached into her bag on the ground and grabbed her datapad. Tapping at the device pulled up the surveillance feed from the shop. She clicked on a saved file that showed the clone stepping in and saving her, his face clear and crisp on the screen. “Here. I couldn’t believe it at first either.”
You took the datapad from her and watched as Tech tased the attacker before helping Chai stand and rush into her shop. “But wait, why are you here if he’s alive? Shouldn't you two be making up for lost time?” Passing the device back to her, you caught the way her bottom lip trembled. “Chai?” It was like a damn was broken, as soon as you said her name the girl broke into a fit of tears.
“He doesn't remember me!” She covered her face with her hands and broke into loud sobs, her body shaking. “Kix says it’s a severe case of amnesia and there’s a possibility that he’ll never get his memories back!”
Oh, that was a lot more than you were expecting. “Amnesia?” Stars, that was far worse than him just being dead. At least with him being dead, she could move on. With him alive and her knowing that he didn’t remember her it would be like torture. “Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry.”
“I tried, I tried to just be normal with him. I made him tea and talked with him like we used to but” she sniffled and wiped at her face with the long sleeve of her shirt.
“It wasn’t the same?” She nodded to you, making you frown. Standing you moved around the table and held your friend close. “There’s the chance he’ll remember one day. Right?”
“Echo says it could come with time. I just...I couldn’t be around him. Not yet at least.” Her head shook against your shoulder. “Am I a coward?”
“Shhh” You rubbed her shoulder gently. “Not in the slightest. You suffered more than the rest of us through all of us. I don’t think of you as a coward for leaving.” You tapped your teeth for a moment before continuing. “But I will think you a coward if you avoid him forever after this.”
“Avoid who?” Wrecker stood in the doorway of your home with a smile and a large fish in tow. “Hey, Chai. Didn’t know you were coming for a visit.”
“It’s not a visit.” She shifted awkwardly against you. How would she tell him that his brother was alive? From what you’d told her, he’d suffered harshly after the supposed death of his brother. “I’m moving back.”
“Was it Kix? Did he overstep? I told him he needed to be careful with his flirting with you.” Wrecker shook his head disapprovingly before moving to the kitchen to place the fish in the fridge.
Kix had a crush on her? She never noticed that. “Umm, no.” She wiped her face with her sleeve once more before pulling away from you slightly. “Kix has been nothing but a gentleman. They all have been.”
Wrecker stepped out of the kitchen with that happy smile still plastered on his face. “That’s good to hear. Didn’t want to have to beat up my vod.” He chuckled deeply but found the gesture not returned. “What’s going on?” He looked at Chai closer and noticed the cut. “What happened? Is the shop okay?”
“She was attacked behind the shop. By Fang.” You stroked your friend's arm gently before stepping away. You’d handle this. “But one of your brothers stepped in and saved her.” Stepping over to the man you loved, you grabbed one of his hands and looked up at him.
“Which one? Gotta thank him.” Why were you looking at him like that? “Sarad? What is it?”
“You should sit down, Wrecker.” Stroking his hand gently, you took him over to the couch and watched as he sat down. That sweet, pure brown eye was staring at you with so much love. He was doing so well lately and now you were going to destroy all this progress. “Love, the brother that saved her was” You took a long deep breath. “My love, it was Tech.”

Wrecker watched as the same scene played over for the fifth time on Chai’s datapad. Tech. His vod. He was alive. “Tech…but how?” He looked at Chai who’d now taken a seat across from him while you sat safely next to him, a hand on his forearm.
“His repel line snagged on a service ladder. It helped cushion his fall.” Chai poked a fork at the tart still sitting uneaten on her plate. “His femur injury reopened from the fall and he developed amnesia. Some villagers found him and nursed him to health. Once he was healed, he left to try and figure out who he was.”
“He found his way to Ord Mantell and to you. It’s a sign from the universe.” You leaned your head against Wrecker's arm and watched him press replay on the video once more. It was no surprise that he was shocked by the news. He’d watched his brother die. Had blamed himself for weeks over his death. If this was how he was then how would Omega be?
“Will he get the memories back?” His eyes took in the way Tech carefully approached Chai after tasing Fang. It wasn’t the usual confident way Tech moved, this was timid and filled with nervous energy. How could Tech be alive? His brain just couldn’t seem to wrap around the knowledge.
Chai picked up her glass of water and swirled it for a moment. Unable to look at the large clone before her. “Kix and Echo say there’s a chance they’ll never come back. But that’s a small chance. For now, we just need to not force anything. Let it all come back naturally.” Which she was doing amazing at by running. Maybe you were right, she was a coward.
Tech could never remember them. If that happened then it would destroy Omega. “Omega can’t know. Not a word to her about any of this.” He placed the datapad down on the table and chewed his lip. “We need to tell Hunter and Cross. They deserve to know.”
“How long can we keep something like this from her though? Surely one day someone would slip and reveal it. How mad would she be when that happened? How heartbroken?” Beside you, Wrecker shifted awkwardly in his seat, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of lying to Omega. It was clearly for her own sanity but still.
This was something he needed to talk to Hunter about. He was their leader for a reason. “Just…nothing to her for now. Not until we have a plan.” Or Tech got his memories back.
“We can invite Hunter and Crosshair over for dinner tonight.” You looked at Chai and smiled softly. “You’ll be there too. Once Omega goes to bed we can go over everything and see what they think.”
Chai just wanted to go home and check in on her family. It had been months since she’d seen them last and she’d be lying if she said she hadn’t missed them. “Are you sure you need me?” When you nodded to her with a stern look, she knew there was no way out. “Alright.” She moved to stand up but stopped when she heard the door open once more. “Oh, Omega.”
“Chai!” The young blonde quickly ran across the room and hugged the woman tightly. “What are you doing here?” She could have sworn you’d said it would be a miracle if Chai came back anytime soon.
“Just came back for a visit, that’s all.” Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a small container. “Brought ya something from an old friend.”
Omega's eyes lit up and sparkled as she opened the container. “Mantell Mix! Thank you!” She excitedly jumped in place before turning to show Wrecker. For a brief moment, she found a serious look on her brother's face. But as fast as it had appeared, it was gone. How strange. “Wrecker look! So happy they let us out early.”
You moved around the table and took Omega’s satchel from her. “Why did they send you home early?” It wasn’t like the school to let the kids out early.
“The teacher droid said a storm is coming.” Omega popped another piece of mix into her mouth before moving around the table and sitting closest to the tart. She remembered you making it the night before and how delicious it looked. Silently, she pointed at the tart earning a smile and a head nod from you. Her eyes lit up at the silent permission you gave her and quickly she grabbed the knife and cut a slice.
“Yeah, all the boats are being called back early. That’s why they sent me home.” Wrecker watched as Omega carefully cut a slice of tart and happily ate a small bite.
“Storm, huh?” You walked over to the kitchen and grabbed your datapad. Sure enough, on the screen was a message from Shep to the entire island letting them know about the storm. “Looks like it’s gonna be a rough one. We should probably secure the shop and the house. With us being so high on the mountain we’re gonna get hit with the wind worse.” Already you could hear the wind picking up a bit.
Wrecker stood and stretched carefully. “Chai, want me to walk ya home? Gonna check in on Hunter and Cross and invite them to hide out here for the night.” He looked at you. “If that’s ok, Sarad.”
Already you were making a mental list of everything you’d need to do. There was fabric air drying that would need to be pulled in and patio furniture you’d need to secure. Wrecker asked you once more if it was ok for the boys to hide out at your place and you smiled. “You never need to ask, Wrecker. <strong> Our </strong> place is always open to your family.” Strong arms wrapped around your body and pulled you close as a warm stubble-covered face rested against your cheek.
“Thank you.” Came as a whisper from him and you knew it wasn’t simply for letting his brothers come over. With the news that you’d all just received, all any of you wanted was to be with those you cared for. Your arms wrapped around him and held him close. “Of course, my love.”
Omega made a fake gagging sound as she watched the two of you. “You two are doing it again.” She watched as you smirked and rolled your eyes.
Chai chuckled at Omega’s dramatic playfulness. “They do this a lot?”
“All the time. Super lovey-dovey. Especially after they go on one of those long dates in the Marauder.” She bit into another piece of tart. The flavor exploded in her mouth as a berry popped. She giggled playfully as you gasped at her words. “Well, you guys do! For like three days after you two are extra kissy.”
You hadn’t realized your trips to the waterfall with Wrecker lifted your mood so much that Omega noticed. Chai shot you a knowing smirk and you felt like you were going to die from embarrassment. “Good to know, Mega. How about you get started on your homework?” And give you a moment to not feel so embarrassed!
“Don’t you need help securing the shop?” She took another bite of the treat in front of her, enjoying the way your cheeks were getting redder and the way Wrecker was trying not to laugh.
Damn, you did need her help. “Uh, yeah. But I need to fold fabric and bring stuff in so it’ll be a bit before I need your help.” Beside you, the clone was shaking from trying to hide his laughter. It wasn’t funny…ok it was a little bit. You thought you’d been secretive about how the trips went but it seemed not. Stars, Doll was going to have a field day with this, and with the way Chai was looking at you? It seemed like she was going to tell the innkeeper as soon as she could. “Homework now and I’ll grab you when it’s time.”
Omega nodded and stood with her now empty tray. “Okay.” She paused for a moment and looked at the three adults in the room. Something was going on. Things had felt tense and heavy when she walked in earlier but now it seemed fine. Maybe things were okay? But something in her stomach was telling her that they weren���t. It was that same feeling she’d had after they’d lost Tech.
“Omega? You ok?” You walked over and took the plate from her while watching her carefully. The girl blinked a few times before shaking her head and nodding.
“Y-yeah. Sorry. Can I take the mix with me?” She held up the container for you to see.
“Just a little bit. Wrecker brought home a beautiful fish for dinner tonight. I figured you could help me make it after we get the house secured?” A strand of hair was brushed behind the girl's ear with your hand. The blonde locs were getting long. The length looked good on her.
Brown eyes lit up and shined at you. “Yes! Of course!” She loved cooking with you and Wrecker! It was always so much fun! The feeling in her stomach disappeared slightly, now replaced with the excitement of helping you. She’d definitely finish her homework fast now. With a wave to everyone, Omega took off for her room.
You waited until her door had shut before speaking to Wrecker and Chai. “Let the guys know we want them for dinner, but don’t tell them why. It’ll come as a shock to them too and it’s better if we do all of this as a family.”
“Including Omega?” Chai looked down the hall to the extra rooms. The girl was so sweet and pure for everything she’d gone through in life. She could only imagine how this would make her feel.
Wrecker looked down at you and the two of you shared a silent look before he shook his head. “Not yet. Not until we have better news for her.”
“Agreed. We can take a group vote tonight to see what Hunter and Crosshair think. But I feel that they’ll agree with us.” Walking over to Chai, you hugged her tightly. “I hope you’ll come back tonight for dinner.”
Chai returned the hug while nodding. “Of course. As long as the storm doesn’t get too bad. I’ll be here.”
Omega stood with her back against the door to her room, her ears straining a bit to hear what was being said. What were you guys not telling her? Why did you need to take a vote with Crosshair and Hunter? She heard the door open followed by the heavy footsteps of her brother. Whatever it was, she’d find out.

“Stitches, dinner was amazing.” Hunter sat back with a satisfied sigh, his hand on his stomach. He had to admit that you were one hell of a cook. Wrecker was one lucky man to have you by his side.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it. But it would have been nothing without that amazing fish Wrecker caught today.” With a happy hum, you stood and began to clear the dishes.
Omega stood up quickly and grabbed some of the plates nearest her. “I’ve got it!” The longer she stayed up the more likely the adults would say something to her, right?
You watched in surprise as the young blonde grabbed the dishes in your hands and carried them towards the kitchen. “O-oh. Thanks, Omega.” It wasn’t uncommon for her to help you after dinner, but it was a surprise that she was so eager. Usually, you had to ask. You felt a tug on your wrist and found Wrecker pulling you back down into your seat.
“Seems like the kids settled in nicely.” Crosshair pulled a toothpick from his pocket and stuck it in his mouth. Arms crossed, he watched Omega place the dishes into the sink and turn in the water. “So, what’s going on? Why are you here, Chai?”
Eyes flickered quickly to Crosshair as he asked his question. “Umm, perhaps we should wait until she’s asleep.” Your voice was low as you tilted your head towards the kitchen.
Hunter chewed his lip while the sound of clinking dishes filled the room. “That important, huh?” When you nodded to him he sighed. “Should have known this wasn’t just a group dinner.”
“We still have a reason to celebrate. Chai’s home. The gang’s almost completely back together. Just need Echo.” And Tech. But the others didn’t know that yet and the idea of him being able to join you all once more was still just that, an idea. If the amnesia was as bad as Chai was saying it was then it could truly be a long wait before he was truly back to you all. You caught the way Chai shot you a look. No doubt she wished you could say Tech's name as well.
“If we’re gonna celebrate then we need some cake.” Wrecker proudly cheered, trying to keep the air light and joyful. The moment the others learned of Tech everything would change.
You chuckled brightly while leaning against Wrecker. “Well, I didn’t make a cake. But Chai brought some macarons from the shop.”
Chai smiled at you and pulled the round container from her bag. “Assorted flavors. Couldn’t decide on just one so I made a little of everything.” The lid popped off with a small hiss and the colorful rainbow of treats was now visible to all.
Reaching across the table, you snagged one of the pink ones and happily took a bite. “Mmm, Rosewater?” The flavor lightly danced across your tongue making you hum excitedly.
“Of course. I know they’re your favorite.” Reaching into the container, Chai grabbed one of the yellow ones. “Omega! Come try some of these and let me know how they taste!”
The sound of dishes clattering into the seat and the water suddenly turning off made those around the table chuckle. The blonde came running into the room with still-dripping hands as sweet chocolate eyes scanned the table for the aforementioned treats. You smiled brightly as she found them and quickly made a grab for one. Hunter reached out and gripped her wrist, mentioning that she should dry them first before touching the macarons. The girl made a defeated whine before wiping them on her pants quickly. Earning an eye roll from Hunter and Crosshair and a laugh from the others. You allowed yourself the moment to enjoy the happiness of your group, knowing that in roughly an hour it would all change.
“So, Omega. How’s school been going?” Chai watched the child wiggle happily as she bit into one of the sweets.
“Really good!” Omega bounced back and forth in a happy dance as she took another bite. “We learned about currents in the ocean and riptides. Lyana said that’s why we can’t go to the cove?” She looked at you and Chai for verification.
You nodded while reaching for another macaron. “Yup. The current is too strong and will pull ya right out to sea. Usually, people use boats to get over there or if the tide is low enough then they swim over. But that’s rare these days. Especially since the tsunami.”
Omega sighed dejectedly “Oh man. It sounds like a cool place. I wish I could see it.”
“Oh, it’s the coolest. We used to spend so much time there a few years ago. Was the first place you showed me after my family moved here.” Chai ran her finger around the rim of her wine glass. The amber liquid within pairing nicely with the sweets she’d brought. “Isn’t that where you and Paolo-“
You feigned a coughing fit, stopping the woman from continuing her train of thought. She shot you a knowing smirk and it took everything in you not to fling a macaron at her. You loved her but damn did she know how to push your buttons. “Like Chai said, it’s a cool place. Maybe we’ll take you there when the weather gets better.”
“Paolo, huh?” Wrecker smirked at you before leaning over and kissing your temple. “You’ll have to tell me more about him later.” He teased you with a grin while grabbing a treat for himself. It wasn’t hard to figure out where Chai had been going. He’d wondered who your first had been, seems like he’d just found out. As did the others.
“Take it that the spot is popular with the teens and young adults of the island?” Crosshair raised a knowing eyebrow as he watched you and Chai redden at his question. When you nodded sheepishly he smirked. Perhaps his pretty little Doll would be up for a visit.
“Why would it be popular for them?” Omega bit into her third macaron with a happy hum. Why was everyone looking at her like that? “Oh, is this another adult-only thing?” She hated being young. Even if she was technically older than the boys.
You’d be flinging macarons at all of them at this rate. Omega was hearing far too much for someone her age. Clapping your hands loudly, you tried to change the topic “Omega, how about you show Chai the new decorations we added to your room?”
Omega tilted her head as you changed the subject. She may be young but she wasn’t dumb. You wanted to talk about something else. “How old do I need to be to be able to talk about this stuff?”

Everyone looked at Hunter in surprise at the absurd number he’d just spit out. What? He wasn’t ready for any of these conversations with her yet. You’d mentioned to him something about the talk about puberty soon and he’d nearly passed out. “Uh, 18. Of course.” He feigned a laugh as the sound of the rain outside picked up. “Chai, these are delicious.” Hunter picked up a raspberry macaron and stuffed it into his mouth. He wasn’t cut out for this life.
Now Hunter was getting red! Omega giggled before stepping away from the table with two more macarons in her hand. “Come on, Chai. I’ll show you my room. We got these pretty star decorations that hang from the ceiling. I really like them.”
You watched as Chai followed the girl down the hall while chatting about the new decorations. Thank goodness Omega tended to be easily distracted. Picking up your glass of wine, you took a slow sip and sighed. This was nice if only it would last all night.

“He’s alive?” Crosshair felt his heart race at the words. Alive. Tech was alive. Omega had been sent to bed and the group had retired to the shop to not wake the girl. Already he’d heard from Chai twice on how his brother had survived and yet he still couldn’t comprehend it. “Tech? You’re sure?”
“Yes.” Chai passed her datapad to him, the video from earlier playing once more. “It’s him in every way possible.” Even if he wasn’t fully himself, it was him.
Hunter leaned against the wall closest to the door with his arms crossed, a frown on his lips. “Kix is positive there’s nothing we can do?” The door was currently cracked open slightly allowing the smell of rain to waft into the shop. Outside the wind howled with the storm and thunder rang out in the distance. The smell of your shop and its fabrics mixed with the rain making his senses override. It was a curse, his heightened senses, made situations like this difficult. Tech was alive, his brother was alive and yet he couldn’t focus on it. It was like his brain was telling him it was all too much. That he needed other things in his mind.
Chai shook her head quickly. “Nothing. He’s worried that if we push too hard we could cause more damage.” There was so much she’d wanted to try and yet she couldn’t risk him losing his memories forever. Something she equates to torture and thus why she’d returned to Pabu. Being around him, even for that little bit of time the first night, had been far too tempting. All she’d wanted to do was kiss him once more and yet she couldn’t. She’d lied to him, told him they had just been friends.
“All we can do is support Tech and be here when he’s ready.” You leaned against Wrecker, his arms tight around your waist as the two of you sat with your back against the counter. “The real question concerns Omega. Do we tell her?”
“The kid’s been through a lot.” Crosshair pointed at Wrecker with his toothpick. “Ya said she had those nightmares for months.”
“Yeah. A mix between Tech’s death and what happened on Mount Tantiss.” You felt Wreckers shift so one of his knees was up, it began to bounce nervously. Reaching out silently, you placed a hand on his knee to calm him. “She still has one every once in a while now, but it’s not as bad as it was and she’s gotten better at calming down on her own.”
Hunter chewed his lip in thought for a moment. “We shouldn’t put her at risk then. Won’t be fair to the kid.” He didn’t like the idea of lying to her and keeping such important news a secret. It was clear on everyone’s faces that none of them did. “Echo still not answering?”
Chai shook her head before tapping at your datapad in her lap. They’d been trying for the last hour to contact Echo and get his input on everything but had failed. She worried something had happened when not even Kix had answered her call. “Somethings wrong.”
“Something bad?” You continued to hold Wrecker's knee still, able to feel the tensing of it as he tried to bounce it.
“They would have triggered one of our alarms if it was really bad. I would have gotten a notification.” What if it was Tech? What if something had happened to him? What if … he’d left? Would it be considered her fault if he did? Chai shook her head before trying Echo once more, this time from her datapad. After a few moments, the call still wasn’t answered. Sighing, Chai placed the datapad down. “Looks like it’s up to us. I vote we keep it a secret until he remembers her.”
Crosshair and Hunter both shared a look before nodding in unison. “Agreed.” Came in dual voices.
Wrecker swallowed loudly before nodding as well. “Yeah. Sounds like a smart idea.”
Thunder cracked loudly outside making you jump slightly. “Then we’re all on board with this. Until Tech remembers her, Omega will not know he’s alive.”
“What?” A soaked Omega stood in the doorway of your shop, a shocked Hunter staring down at her. “H-He’s alive and you weren’t going to tell me?” She hadn’t been able to sleep knowing you were all keeping something from her. Tech had once taught her that water could wash away one’s scent and thus made it harder for Hunter to track, a lesson that she’d used to her advantage. Sneaking out to your shop had been easy and she had silently thanked the universe for the door being cracked open. She hadn’t caught the entirety of the conversations, just the end, but it had been enough.
“Omega!” You jumped up at the sight of the soaked girl. “Look at you.” Turning around you grabbed a pile of fabric off the shelf and ran over to her, ready to wrap the material around her and dry her off. “You’ll get sick if you stay drenched lik-“Your words were cut off as she moved away from you angrily.
“I trusted you!” Her brown eyes shook with a mix of anger and sadness. “You were just going to lie to me? For how long? A week? A month? Forever?”
You shook your head quickly as you stepped towards the girl once more. “Omega, it’s not that simple. We…”
“Why should I trust what you have to say?” She looked at everyone in the room. “Why should I trust any of you?” With that she turned and bolted out of the front of the shop and down the path, her bare feet sliding slightly against the cold cobblestones.
Instantly you were racing after her, the cold sting of the powerful rain whipping across your cheeks. “Omega!” Where was she going?
Wrecker and the others weren’t too far behind you. It had taken them all a moment to process what had happened before they were moving and running down the path calling out for her as well. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen her act this way. Running off recklessly into a storm. “Omega! Stitches!” He called for you both loudly, his voice booming like thunder.
Omega wasn’t sure where she was running to but she allowed her legs to carry her wherever they desired. How could all of you agree to lie to her? Keep from her that her brother was alive? Alive. Tech was alive! But he didn’t remember her? Wasn’t that what you’d been saying? That you’d keep the secret until he remembered her? How could he forget her? After everything they’d been through together. The past conversations with him ran through her head, especially the one in the cave after the mining incident. “Tech … ” tears mixed with rain as the girl continued down the path and now towards a destination.
“Omega, please!” She turned left off the path and suddenly you understood where she was heading. “Omega! Stop! It’s too dangerous!” Behind you, Wrecker's voice boomed as he called out for the both of you. The path turned from cobblestones to mud and grass as you followed her toward the cliff overlooking the cove. You hadn’t had time to put shoes on and thus the thick mud was now sticking to your feet giving you some resistance. “Ome-“ you gasped before tumbling forward and the feeling of fire shot through your ankle. You landed in the mud with a hiss and swore loudly. Looking at what had tripped you, you found a sharp rock jutting out of the earth. Pain shot through your ankle as you tried to fight back tears.
Wrecker was just barely far enough behind you to not see you trip due to the downpour showering the island with a wall of water, so when he found you sitting on the ground with mud on your face and your hand around your ankle he was shocked. “Sarad! Are you ok?” He yelled to you over the rain and thunder. Taking a closer look at your ankle he noticed red seeping from between your fingers. “You're hurt!”
“Don’t worry about me! Get Omega! She’s heading towards the cove!” Fuck your ankle hurt. You watched as he gave you a nervous look. “Go, Wrecker!”
“I … but your ankle. Are you sure?” When you nodded to him he kissed the top of your head quickly before taking off once more in the direction that Omega had run. Hunter and the others had to be close. “Omega! Stop!”
“Leave me alone!” Omega yelled over her shoulder as she continued down the path. Where was the turn-off towards the beach? It was so hard to see with all this wind and rain. Suddenly, the ground tapered to a point making Omega fumble to stop. With a screech, she slipped in the mud and went over the edge. “Wrecker!! Help!” Her hands gripped a large root sticking out of the mud. Below her, the waves of the ocean crashed against the rocks and licked at her ankles. If she fell she’d be swallowed by waves and pulled out to sea.
Wrecker heard her before he finally saw her. It was like a flash from the past. She hung from a root with fear in her eyes. Below her, the sea churned and reached for her like some terrible monster. Instantly he was back on that broken rail cart staring down at Tech. His brother hanging from a repel line for dear life as troopers fired upon them. The height wasn’t nearly the same but it still threatened to push him away from the edge. No, he’d worked too hard with you to face these fears. If it came to it he’d jump from their ledge to her. He’d lost Tech that day, he wouldn’t lose Omega. Reaching down, he gripped her wet hand tightly. “I’ve got you, Omega! Just hold on.” The crash of the sea below and the thunder and rain above mixed into a deafening roar that nearly drowned his voice out as he tried to find a better grip on the child. She’d weigh nothing to him and he knew as much, but it was finding a grip.
Omega scrambled to cling to Wrecker's large arm that offered safety, both hands letting go of the root and holding onto his hand instead. She felt herself move as he began to pull her up and a sigh of relief left her lips. Her hands slipped from Wreckers, the mix of mud and rain making it too hard to hold onto. A scream left her as her eyes closed and she braced for the icy grip of the deadly waves below.
“No!” Not this time. He wouldn’t lose another family member. His hand shot out and gripped the first thing he felt, her shirt. With an angry yell, he allowed his body weight to pull them both back and thud into the sticky wet mud.
Warmth, fabric, safety. Omega opened her eyes and found herself in the protective grasp of her brother, both of them safe on the ground. He’d saved her, ripped her straight from the air, and certain death of the angry sea below.
Hunter and Crosshair both supported you on one of their shoulders as the three of you finally caught up with Omega and Wrecker. A red bandana was currently wrapped around your ankle to staunch the flow of blood and protect it from any more mud. Crosshair was positive it was broken, Hunter was hopeful it was just a sprain. They’d wanted to sit and wait for Chai to run and grab one of her brothers to help get you back to the shop while they went after their siblings but you’d been decidedly against it. This was partially your fault. You should help get her back.
“He got her.” You let out a relieved sigh at the sight of Omega in Wrecker's arms. The girl's face was currently buried in the clone's chest as her body shook, a sign she was crying.
“Here, hold onto her. I’ll let them know you're ok.” Hunter passed you to Crosshair and nodded to you before walking carefully toward the other two.
“So, you and Doll?” A knowing smirk was passed from you to Crosshair who rolled his eyes.
Crosshair shifted you in his hold while chuckling deeply. “You do know I could release you and let you fall into the mud, right?”

“There. Nice and clean.” You ran the towel over Omega locs one final time before placing the towel down and covering the girl with a blanket. You’d all been out in the mud, wind, and rain for far longer than necessary, you wouldn’t be surprised if one of you got sick. Once you’d all returned to your home it had been a few rounds of everyone showering before Crosshair took a look at your ankle. Hunter had been right, it was sprained. Much to everyone’s relief. Until the storm subsided and you were able to get to the island doctor you’d need to be off of it. Something that Wrecker was diligently seeing to. Omega knelt in front of you on the floor while you rested on the couch with your foot propped on a pillow. A blanket was laid over your lap and one of Wrecker's large long-sleeve shirts enveloped your body in a warm embrace. The big clone himself was in the kitchen making all of you warm drinks, also worried about someone getting sick.
Omega chewed her lip as your fingers began to run through her hair, the feeling making her relax slightly. “Thank you, Stitches.” She heard you whisper ‘You’re welcome’ and the room soon fell into silence again. It was five minutes before anyone said anything, the silence being broken by Wrecker stepping in with a tray of hot milk and honey. Carefully the mug was pulled from the tray and Omega allowed the warmth of the mug to radiate through her body before finally taking a sip. The warmth of the sweet and creamy drink raced through her body in a calming surge. She needed this. The warmth gave her the courage to speak finally. “Were you really going to keep it from me?”
You’d wondered how long it was going to be before she said something. Looking around the room at the others, you took a sip of your drink before sighing. “Sweetie, there’s something you need to understand.” The figure in front of you moved and turned around to face you. Those sweet brown eyes stared into your eyes making your heart twist. How could you have thought about lying to such an innocent child? Yes, you’d been doing it to protect her from the pain of knowing the truth. But Omega was smart for her age, she understood things better than most. You’d fallen into the trap of seeing her as a child when she was in fact an advanced clone. “Tech has a severe case of amnesia.”
“Like Gregor had?” She looked at Hunter who nodded. “Well, that’s good then, isn’t it? Gregor got his memories back. I helped Nala Se look him over when he returned to Kamino.” Omega looked at everyone with a happy energy. “We just need to support him and be there to help him remember, right?”
The way she seemed so hopeful at the prospect hurt the clone Sargent’s heart. “That’s just it. It’s been six months and he hasn’t remembered anything. Kix and Echo are concerned that he may not remember anything at all.” Hunter placed the warm drink he’d taken from Wrecker down on the table. “Ever.”
“O-Oh.” She knew all of this, didn’t she? She’d researched amnesia after hearing about Gregor and had read as much as she could. That's how she knew about being there for him and helping him to remember. No matter how she tried to search her memories though she couldn’t seem to remember anything else.
You watched as her bottom lip slowly began to tremble. “Oh, sweetie. It’ll be ok.” Moving to get off the couch, you felt Wrecker's protective hand on your shoulder silently telling you not to move. Instead, he reached down, easily picked Omega up, and hugged her tightly. The little clone's face buried into Wrecker's chest as sobs ripped from her once more.
Chai stood from the opposite couch and walked over to Omega. Gently she stroked her back and shushed her. “When I found out I felt the same way you’re feeling. How could I even be around him knowing he didn’t remember me?” You cleared your throat next to her and she raised her hand to calm you. She was going somewhere with this. “But Echo talked to me and told me something that put things into perspective for me. Would you like to hear what it was?”
Omega turned her face from Wrecker's chest and looked at Chai. “Y-yes.” Chai offered her hand to her and with a small bit of hesitation, Omega tapped Wrecker indicating that she’d like to be put down. Taking Chai’s hand, she moved next to you on the couch and sat down.
Kneeling in front of the girl, Chain reached up and adjusted the blanket around her shoulders. “Echo helped me see that if Tech doesn’t get his memories back then that means that we can make new memories together.” She let out a hum softly. “Think about it, getting to know him all over again. It could be fun. I know you’ve all been through a lot with one another.” She looked at the group as a whole. “You all have a brother's bond with him, made memories that only you know of. You’ll get to make new memories with him now, we all will.”
“Then …” Omega chewed her lip in thought. Should she ask her the question brewing within?
“What is it, Omega?” You reached over and stroked a piece of her hair. The blonde looked at you nervously.
Swallowing the fear inside of her, she looked back at Chai. “Then why is Chai here and not with Tech?”
“Because..” Chai remembered what you’d said earlier that day, that she was a coward. “I’m a coward. I ran when faced with the knowledge that he may never remember me.”
“Why?” Omega knew she was asking a lot of personal questions right now, but she needed answers to so many burning questions inside of her.
“It’s hard for me to explain. But know that I love your brother very much. I left for selfish reasons and planned on staying away because of those reasons. But being with all of you reminded me how important being there for the ones you care for is.” She took Omega's hand in hers and patted the back of it gently. “It’s Tech, he’ll get his memories back, and if not then we’ll make new ones together.”
“So you’re gonna head back then?” You watched your friend nod at your question. “When?” It made you happy to know that she’d be going back. Tech was far too important to just give up on and avoid. Now that all of you knew he was alive and safe, you needed him to come home.
Chai smiled softly while wiping away a stray tear from Omega’s cheek. “Probably in a week or two. I’ll try Echo again in the morning and let him know I changed my mind. Gonna stick around and help my family with the shop for a bit. My brothers have been doing the stocking and everything is a mess now.” Standing up, she stretched her arms over her head. “Maybe Omega could come with me. Seeing his sister may be what the clone needs.”
Hunter and Crosshair both shifted awkwardly at the request. Omega hadn’t left the planet since they’d rescued her. Too worried about someone else coming after her. “Maybe.” Was all that came from Hunter before he grabbed the cup of cooking milk and honey.

“Echo, what are you doing here?” It had been weeks since the clone had been on Pabu and nearly a week since you’d last spoken to him. Last you’d heard Tech was in some kind of Jedi trance working on getting his memories back.
“Hey, Stitches. You still have that pile of clothes you made for Tech?” He watched as a small smile began to form on your lips. Stepping to the side he allowed another figure to stand in the doorway.
“Stitches, it has been a while.” Tech nodded to you with, to your surprise, a smile. He extended his hand out to shake yours, another surprise.
You took the offered hand, grasped it tightly, and pulled him into a tight hug. Tears burned at your cheeks as you took in that the clone remembered you and was here on Pabu. You held him tightly for a few moments before sniffling and stepping away. “Sorry. Just happy you’re back. Come in, I’ll grab those clothes.”
Echo chuckled while slapping Tech's shoulder firmly. “You’re not the first to hug him like that, probably won’t be the last either.” Both of them stepped in and followed you as you walked over to a linen closet in your main area. “I see Omega’s still making messes.”
“Huh?” You looked over your shoulder at a stack of books and blankets on the floor. “Actually.” Moving a large box to the side, you found the stack of clothes perfectly folded where you left them. “That’s Wrecker’s mess.” With a happy sigh, you pulled the stack out and looked at the two clones. Tech was giving you a surprised look that made you smirk. “He didn’t tell ya that they live with me now, did he?”
Tech crossed his arms and shook his head. “It seems Echo deemed it unnecessary for me to know such information.”
“Thought it would be more fun for you to learn this way.” Echo took the stack from you and looked through it carefully before deciding on something for Tech to change into. “Where are they anyway?”
“Oh that’s a good one, she liked that one a lot when I made it.” White linen pants and a cream-colored cotton top. You’d made a gorgeous cream flowing sundress for Chai to match him. Nearly every one of his outfits had a matching outfit for Chai. “Wrecker took Omega down to the docks to grab dinner. Sounds like the fishermen brought in another good haul today. Ever since the tsunami the catch has been perfect. One of the benefits of that day I guess.” You smirked at Tech. “What do you think, Tech?”
“It is indeed a great benefit. However, I feel I may have something better.” And thus he’d come to the question that had been burning at him the entire trip to Pabu. “Will she be happy to see me?”
Oh, how sweet was he? Walking back to him, you looked him over carefully. Stubble was beginning to form on his chin and his hair was now longer and nearly covering his eyes. At least his giggles were back. “We should clean you up a bit. Looks like you need a haircut.” Reaching up, you brushed some of his hair out of his eyes. “Tech, she’s going to be so happy to see you, she may just cry.”
“Tech?” A small voice called from the doorway. She couldn’t believe it, he was here. Omega shakily made her way towards the clone, nervous that this was suddenly all a dream.
Tech turned and looked at the sound of his sister's voice. With another smile, he waved to her. “Hello, Omega.” The child was suddenly in his arms and holding him in a deathly grip. If she was Wrecker’s size this may hurt, but at her size it was endearing.
Omega felt tears run down her cheeks as she felt Tech's arms wrap around her and hold her close. This was real, he was alive and he remembered her, right? “You remember me?”
“Of course, you are my sister after all. My vod.” Her hair had gotten longer and she seemed approximately two inches taller. Interesting how much she’d changed in the time he was gone. No longer did she dress as a clone but as a young woman. Instead of pants, she was wearing a sundress with small heeled sandals and a braid around her crown with a ribbon holding the ends together at the back of her head. “You look like you’ve settled. I am glad this place has been good for you.”
He really did remember her! A tear-stained smile played on her lips as she continued to hold Tech. Like heck was she going to let him go anytime soon. “Wrecker! Get in here!” Still holding onto the goggled clone, she turned them both to face the door.
“I’m coming, ‘Mega!” Wrecker ducked as he entered the house, arms holding a small crate filled with crustaceans for dinner. Smiling, Wrecker looked for a place to set the crate down when he finally registered who was standing in the room. “T-Tech?” His eyes went wide as he dropped the crate, making you squeal in happy surprise, and walked over to his brother and sister.
“Hello, Wrecker.” There he was, the last face he’d seen before the fall. Omega didn’t move as the large clone pulled them into a tight hug. Now this was a squeeze that could injure them.
“Wrecker, riduur, you’ll injure them.” You placed your hand on the large clone's bicep and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“S-Sorry.” Tears trickled from the corner of his eyes while he stepped back. “Tech, I’m sorry I didn’t pull you up.” The words spilled from him before he could stop them. It was like seeing his brother instantly made everything want to pour from him.
“We were being fired upon and the rail cart was in jeopardy of falling. Understandably, you were unable to simultaneously protect Omega and pull me up at the same time. Thus while I enacted Plan ninety-nine.” Tech reached over and placed a hand on Wrecker's shoulder. Echo had explained the difficulties that Omega and Wrecker had both experienced after his supposed death. “Wrecker, my falling had nothing to do with your inability to pull me up. However, if it will help you to feel better, then I will accept your apology if you accept mine for having to watch me fall.”
Wrecker swallowed the large lump in his throat as he nodded slowly. “Deal.” Was all that he could seem to say before he pulled his vod back into a tight hug. Tech grunted at the feeling but didn’t fight the hug, much to Wrecker’s delight.
You blinked back tears as you watched the scene before you. Wrecker and Omega both seemed to visibly relax their shoulders and you realized that some kind of weight that neither had realized they were carrying was finally released. Beside you, Echo let out a happy sigh. Everything finally felt right. A calmness settled over the room as the three stayed in their hug for five minutes. “OK, OK. We can’t hog him all day.”
Omega wiggled her head free from the hug and looked at you. “Why not?” She didn’t want to let her brother go.
“Because.” Echo smiled and held out the change of clothes with his good hand. “He’s got a date that he’s already late for.”

Daxton Endgame
Why a Daxton endgame makes the most narrative sense and completes the arcs of these characters.
DEVI
Devi starts the show literally praying to the gods for a boyfriend. She wants to “shed her old identity” as the girl whose father died and became paralyzed. Paxton is described to be one of few “who raised her spirits,” and it was her desire to see him that helped her stand from her wheelchair. Paxton becomes part of her quest to heal and to “finally fit in.”
In S1, Paxton’s interest in her helps her to feel better about herself, like when he told her she looked “cool in that outfit.” But she’s so dependent on it that she makes questionable choices to keep it, like ditching her friends during their time of need.
By the end of S2, Devi’s self-esteem has grown enough that she is able to end things with Paxton if they can’t be public about their relationship. At the start of S3, they’re dating, and she walks into Sherman Oaks with the official boyfriend she started the show praying for. But this time, when given a choice to support another woman but risk her relationship, she chooses to support another woman.
Although she’s grown and has the relationship with the “boy of her dreams,” we quickly see it doesn’t “solve all of (her) problems,” like Dr. Ryan says. Devi doesn’t feel good enough for Paxton because no external thing can give her the internal healing she still needs. In S1, Devi fantasized about Paxton telling her she has “the beauty of Priyanka Chopra with the incisive intellect of RBG,” and even though Paxton basically tells her all these things in S3, she can’t believe him.
By the end of S3, Devi is able to let go of Paxton the dream, and obsessing about a future where she finally fits in. S4 will likely be about her continuing to come into her own, to live in the present, and to heal -- and her arc would come full circle in finally feeling good enough for Paxton and being able to accept all the love and care he has for her.
PAXTON
Paxton starts the show as the most popular guy in school “because he was dope at swimming...and kinda pretty” -- things that came naturally to him without hard work. And things that made Devi like him from the very beginning of the show, without him having to do anything but say yes.
But when he gets to know her more, he likes her.
It’s also hard though because she does things that hurt him, and her mother also does things that hurt him. So he tries to distance himself to protect himself.
When he loses his swimming career, he tries to get into college by cheating, feeling that Devi “owes” him. Rebecca helps him realize that nobody owes him anything and if he wants to succeed, he’s gonna have to work for it. And he does. He works in school and improves his grades. He also has to work to keep a relationship with Devi, which he didn’t have to do at the start because she was already so into him. She pushes him outside his comfort zone, and he has to grow to not lose her. He faces his fears of being judged for getting back together with someone who cheated on him and in confronting his past mistakes with women.
Although Paxton validly understood that Devi wasn’t ready for a real relationship until she worked on herself, he admits to Fabiola that he also wasn’t ready to be with someone as complex as Devi. But by the end of S3, Paxton has broken up with Phoebe because he needs someone who challenges him.
His arc would be most complete if he actually has to work to get back with Devi, because she’s no longer obsessed with the dream of him, and actively seeks out the emotionally complex relationship he has with Devi, which Lang has already confirmed in saying Paxton “is definitely still vying for Devi’s heart.”
The show has set up their arcs perfectly to come back together. Just as Devi would finally be ready for Paxton, Paxton would finally be ready for Devi. When Paxton finds the candles and lamp scarves, Paxton asked Devi why she never did any of those things for him, to which she replied because she was worried he’d think she was lame. But Paxton never thought she was lame, even from the very beginning of the show. It was Devi who thought she was lame, but now is ready to just be herself -- and be herself with him. Even though Paxton always liked her, he was not ready for a full on deep relationship with her. But guess what bitches, they both finally are and it would be SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL 😭😭😭 PLEASE LET US HAVE IT. Paxton would finally get all the candles and lamp scarves he deserves and Devi would finally get someone who loves her for all her emotional richness.
And when the last part of the dream finally comes true -- when Paxton tells her he loves her -- she might just believe him ❤️
Now, as for...
BEN
Ben starts the show as a lonely, ambitious boy who derives his esteem from his achievements, and bullies his competition, who is usually Devi. They certainly push each other academically but not always in ways that actually make them better people overall. If he can achieve enough, he hopes he will get into Columbia and finally make his dad proud of him. His primary S3 arc was realizing how his relentless pursuit of achievement was literally making him sick, and hearing from his dad that he was already proud of him. We see him learning to let go and focus on his health versus winning, even telling Devi “I’m trying not to get hung up on what other people are doing” when she challenges him about why he’s not fighting to win Debate Team. Ben’s arc would be most complete through his relationship with Margot -- not Devi -- because it’s Margot who helps him to "chill out” and “try to find an emotional connection.” It’s Margot who helps him connect with the part of himself that is “sad and bruised,” and “lonely and exposed.” And it is with Margot and in confronting his insecurities that he may actually, finally, find the healing he so clearly needs.
All the set up is there, but...whether or not we’ll actually get the ending they deserve is, unfortunately, a completely different story 😩😩😩 Which is why it’d be so heartbreaking if it didn’t happen. Not just because I love Daxton. But because I love this story and want to see it get the ending it’s built up to so beautifully. Not to mention, Daxton is iconic as one of the first romantic relationships on TV between two Asian American teens.
I told myself I should prepare for the worst to avoid a debilitating depression, and yet here I fucking am writing this post. Because I just love them. I mean, LOOK AT THEM 😭😭😭

st5 theory: el finds vecna in will’s mind!
This is a theory for how El will enter Will’s mind to find Vecna at the beginning of st5, and how that might play out with Will’s powers getting revealed. I’m not sure if it will make total sense but hopefully enough sense for other people to weigh in!
Recently I’ve seen some videos (from @_stfaves on tiktok go check it out fr!!) about how they have already filmed part of s5 in which Will gets cursed. The highlights from those videos is that Noah was filming in his finale outfit at Rink-O-Mania, Lonnie’s actor was at s4 table reads, and ofc the infamous picture Noah posted wearing a harness with his finale outfit. This points to him getting cursed and reliving the events at Rink-O-Mania and the abuse from his father, before the time jump. In fact, it would have to occur on the same day that the Cali gang returns to Hawkins, because of his attire.
However, when we left off in s4, Vecna’s base of operations was pretty badly destroyed, he was badly burned, and Will said that he was “hurting.” Basically, Vecna is wounded and the place from which he attacks is unusable. Plus, he wouldn’t have any apparent reason to curse Will like that, since the purpose of cursing the other victims was to open gates. Or, at least, it doesn’t seem as though he will strike again just 2 days later, while he is wounded.
Now that our team knows that Vecna is still around but he is badly hurt, I think that they will want to strike back as soon as possible, to prevent Vecna from rebounding at all. That is when Will or El proposes that she looks for the piece of the Mindflayer/Vecna that is in Will. We have already seen El do this with Billy in s3. (Bonus if we get protective Mike again, this time not wanting to put Will in danger, plus worried that Vecna will be able to find them like Billy did.)
So I imagine that El’s search in Will’s mind plays out very similarly to what we saw with Billy. I was rewatching that episode recently, and it really reminded me of what we know of Vecna’s mind from s4. I couldn’t find screenshots of when he was skimming through various people’s trauma before Patrick gets a nosebleed, so just look at the scene with Max compared Billy’s mind.
It’s the red and the darkness and the smoke and the lightning… Plus, now we know the reason that El had to encounter these moments of trauma for Billy. That is where Vecna thrives, how he targets his victims. Max says herself that he uses people’s memories against them, but only their darkest ones. She says, “It’s like he only sees the darkness in us.” So, as El goes to find him in Will, it makes sense for her to witness some of his past trauma, likely from his dad.
However, this does not explain Will’s finale outfit at Rink-O-Mania. This is where my theory might get a little bit sloppy but hear me out. Will gets Vecna’d from within his own mind. This will take a lot of exposition to explain.
This relies on the assumption that Will has had powers from the beginning. I think they must have occurred spontaneously, or however 001’s happened. That is, his powers didn’t come from 001 like El’s did. He is special, but his powers (if he has them) are obviously dormant. There were some weird things going on in s1 during his time in the Upside Down, but it’s not clear what his powers actually are. I think that Vecna knows, or has suspicions, so he formed an incredibly strong psychic connection with Will when he took him and kept him in the Upside Down. I think his goal with the Mindflayer was to control Will without killing him. Vecna says that all of his victims are still in his mind, but he wanted El’s power externally. He wanted her to join him, so he probably needs her strength. If he could get that from Will without having to convince him, by simply taking over his mind, that would be ideal. And, although the Mindflayer was exorcized at the end of s2, Will still shares a psychic connection with Vecna.
Thus, the manifestation of Vecna in his mind, I assume, will be a bit different. It doesn’t have a hold on Will’s behavior, but I think it could be actively suppressing his powers. When El finds it, she will see the red smoke, the traumatic memories, but the eye of the storm will not be a location, like Brimborn Steelworks in Billy’s mind. I’m not sure what it would be exactly, but I think it is a perfect opportunity to draw another parallel with this scene!
The key of this part is that El’s interaction with the Demogorgon was the catalyst for the gate opening. So I think that El interacting with whatever exists inside Will will be a catalyst for Will having his Vecna moment. Suddenly he is thrust into his own worst memories, rises from the ground like Max did, is literally suffocated by his own trauma until something breaks. Not his bones, but whatever is suppressing his powers. Remember that focusing on a memory that makes someone angry and sad is what strengthened the power and control of 001 and El? I think that Will’s powers are tangled up in all that mess and El disturbing that releases Will’s powers. Just like her disturbing the Demogorgon created a path between the Upside Down and Hawkins.

sigh. tng update time. tuesday we did "sarek" and last night i sadly watched "menage a troi" on my own.
sarek: the fact that they mentioned his "son's wedding" once near the beginning and never clarified distracted me for the entire episode until i could google it. and google gave me no answers except to say that he married saavik in some semi-canonical novel. i hate that because saavik was his student (i guess aos had him right after all...) and also because of whatever horrible and weird thing they had going on in search for spock. WHICH BY THE WAY BROKE PREVIOUSLY ESTABLISHED CANON don't get me started
anyway, aside from that, this episode fucking ruled
i love the concept of vulcan dementia just being vulcan emotionalism. i wonder if it's genetic. i wonder if spock would've gotten it had he lived longer. i kind of wish spock had been the one following sarek around containing his emotions even though i wouldn't wish that fate on him cuz then i would've gotten to see him :(
less thrilled about the new wife. they could have had someone else play amanda if her real actress wasn't available (and she wasn't dead, i checked). if people live for like 150 years in the future there simply wasn't long enough for her to die and for sarek to have gotten remarried, especially if vulcans bond for life (which i guess was implied in some interpretations of amok time but not canonized).
actually, if sarek had once been bonded to someone as spock was to t'pring, how did HE wind up with a human wife...did he get remarried so quickly because of pon farr or does that wind down as vulcans get older...so many questions which will never be answered
anyway, i loved the sudden bursts of anger, it was so fun. uh except for beverly hitting her kid but it wasnt Her so we can move past it. especially thrilled with riker and picard almost getting into it
SAREK CRYING? ok king. i wish we had gotten to see spock cry and not in that deleted tmp scene
i loved picard's nerdery of him also. that makes the mind meld very fun. the rituals are literally intricate. also, "we shall always have the best parts of each other inside of us" i HOPE THATS TRUE FOR SPOCK AND KIRK AND BONES. i read an excerpt from a novel. well. i don't want to talk about it
anyway, picard calling out to spock and amanda...maybe i did well up a little at the mention of spock's name. who can say!!!!!
menage a troi: SSSSSSSSSSSIGH
ok, so i grabbed this one by myself because the summary looked bad and we're trying to finish s3 before chr*stmas fucks up all our social plans. no matter how bad the summary was, the actual episode was WORSE
i have three good things to say about this episode actually. the first was that i like that deanna yelled at her mom again, although this time i know better than to expect it to stick. the second was that i LOOOOVED deanna and riker's little date outfits. extremely charming. and finally i loved when lwaxana handed riker that horrible looking vegetable and he ate it with only mild reluctance. king is literally down to clown.
the rest of this ep was garbage. i know we didn't actually see any sex happen but i feel like they implied pretty heavily that the ferengi fucked her, possibly even multiple times. and like it's funny! ha ha ha look at the crazy situations this eccentric lady gets into! ha ha ha look at her and deanna having to run around naked!
somehow, this was the worst lwaxana episode yet. idk why i actually expected them to do a little better in s3. like, if i was gene roddenberry and they did this to my WIFE on MY SHOW. but you can put even odds on it being his idea or him getting off to it. his horrible little fetish fuel.
cherry on top was lwaxana's self-sacrifice at the end where she stays behind to let deanna escape sex slavery or whatever. which one felt like a classic narcissist parent thing and two wasn't even real - it was an excuse for picard to do badly-acted poetry on the bridge to pretend to be her jealous lover to get them to let her go. and then after all that she goes right back to sexually harassing HIM. because it's funny! ha ha ha!
anyway, it's a shame they had wes's little arc as the b plot of this episode because it was fine and feels important continuity wise, and yet every list on earth will rightfully suggest this episode get skipped because it fucking sucks.
tonight, the last two episodes of season 3 - "transfigurations" and "best of both worlds part i." i already know picard gets BORGED in the finale because i've known that since i was a baby and i am WAITING!!! they fucjing blue balled me in the first borg ep and i am MORE than ready for some brainwashed cyborg action. palette cleanser after lwaxana troi episodes.

this ended up being longer than i meant but could have been so so so much longer because i am insufferable. it also lowkey began as just eps where emily looks smashin but then i thought of more things
right, so
all time fave ep is probs s15 ep4 because it's FUNNY, it's nice, it's lovely and i love it. also:
wine drunk emily, emily and her doughnuts and her breath mints
and the temily content etc
also spencer is almost bearable in this ep
another is s3 episode 14 - the one where it's about that old case of rossi's (even though i don't like him) - i just seem to like when there's proper content on the characters outside of just them at work. ALSO, it is probably one of my favourite emily lewks that exists - the OUTFIT, the HAIR, absolutely top notch:
i also really like 'minimal loss' which is s4 ep 3 because it's just good and she gets beaten up so it's sad but like she has a lot of screen time
and then OBVIOUSLY every single episode including any content of the doyle arc because drama and emilycentric
honourable mention is season 3 ep 7 because she wears such a lesbian outfit like-
the episode 'demonology' - sad emily and her religious trauma, also the quote from 'the dead' by james joyce "i think he died for me" - two worlds collide bro bc i love that story and also her obvi AND:
another episode (idk which it is) that i like for the case and also for the line that the woman says to emily about her monster being dead
"your monster's dead, i have to live with mine"
because like emily is my baby and i love her and she's a trauma queen and it wasn't acknowledged.
i actually also really like the season 7 finale but especially the last line that emily speaks as the outro quote. it's when she leaves to go to london which obvs is sad but yknow

Disclaimer: This is primarily based off of me going through my caps, and there's always a chance I have missed something and/or typoed.
I have lightened some of the caps, but I did not recolor them, so they might still appear darker to you depending on your device.
You'll also see that some outfits photograph/films differently in different lighting, etc.

Okay so listen, as some of you know, I had the unfortunate realization that Will Byers is a jorts wearer.
But little did I know that that was a blessing in disguise!!
I would like to welcome you to:
The El Hopper and Will Byers Clothing style HC/How it started ??!
(That title is honestly too long)
So, if you’ve seen some random posts on here (or read the fic I’ve been writing) you already know that I HC Will and El (mainly El but Will gets roped in) to start exploring their clothing styles.
El gets super into it because it’s another way to express herself. It started off with Max in S3 but it’s gotten pretty big as she’s gotten older. At first starting off with just her finagling something together off of hand-me-downs and store bought things to her finally being able to explore other options once she has a source of income. She even starts sewing n stuff!!! It’s cool!
And because El gets as passionate about it as she does, I have no doubt in my mind that she starts testing and gifting things to her family.
Jonathan outgrew one of his favorite shirts? Boom suddenly it’s altered with extra patterns! It’s not the same but he still loves it.
Joyce has an old dress from when she was in hs that she doesn’t get any use out of anymore? Surprise! A brand new top and matching skirt just for her.
Will ripped his jeans randomly? Poof, suddenly they’re patchwork and distressed!!
It doesn’t always turn out great but it’s fun! And she’s experimenting and she just gets really really good at it. It’s becomes one of her stress relievers along with other arts and crafts.
Now to me, I think the Hopper-Byers siblings have a tradition. A tradition of sharing their art with each other. The whole trio are creatives in their own right and they love to mash those abilities together!
So when El gets her first wind of fashion shows and models and how all that works you can BET she’s sharing it. Telling how she’d think it’d be fun to do one. This is probably a little further into their stay at Lerona, Jonathan isn’t around as much and their mom is constantly busy. It’s just been Will and El, El and Will. They’ve gotten a lot closer.
Will is a little reluctant at first because he isn’t so sure about the whole “modeling” thing but El is pretty convincing and so after some designing (El showing her ideas, Will throwing in some of his own, then drawing together) and creating and everything else they’ve finally got outfits! And Jonathan offers to take pictures and Joyce gets out a video camera!
And the wonder twins make their debut wearing the most on brand Hopper-Byers family outfits but it’s got this El-ness about it. All clashing patterns but still a cohesiveness to it. The video doesn’t go anywhere and the photos get hung up within the house but it was so fun for the both of them. It was just silly and good and Will realizes he likes explore fashion with her. That them designing things together was super fun! Thus the WillEl fashion exploration extravaganza begins haha
At first it’s really just them spending time together. Will working on his art (probably the painting at this point) and El designing while she relaxes in his bed. But eventually it evolves a bit, where sometimes they design together or they just talk about it in general while their doing their own things.
El starts wearing some of her stuff more and more to school. She’s still having a rough time there and Will notices this. Especially when they get home one day and he watches her rush to her room and slam the door hard after a particularly rough day of bullying. He wishes he could come up with something to say. But he’s more of a show and not tell type of guy so he comes up with something else.
He’s a little nervous about the solution he’s come up with but he thinks it’ll help a lot. He turns on El’s hand me down sewing machine (she’d left it in his room the day before when they’d been art-ing together) and gets to work. That night he knocks on his sisters door and gifts her a flannel of his completed with a very messy but lovingly embroidered “Wonder Twins” written in purple on the breast pocket.
Will is wearing his own flannel, it’s not the same one but it’s close enough to what shes been given. His also says “Wonder Twins”, even messier than her own, and in yellow. Will goes on a whole explanation about how her bullies are dumb and don’t know what their missing out on. That she’s the coolest person he knows and he’s proud to call her his sister.
He nearly gets the wind knocked out of him at the force of her hug but it’s worth it.
She puts on her new shirt, and laughs when she notices that the breast pocket’s been sewn closed.
“You probably should’ve used the embroidery kit we have.”
“You mean the sewing machine?”
“No.” And she’d laugh some more.
The next day they’d wear their shirts to school. And El would probably still be getting picked on but it’s not so bad when she knows she’s got Will in her corner.
That’s how the tradition starts though, they start matching every now and again. Usually a Wednesday or a Friday. And at first it’s just little things but eventually it starts becoming full on outfits (I will draw these for y’all) and they evolve as the two of them discover what they like to dress in.
Eventually when they get back to Hawkins the tradition doesn’t really stop. It slows some during the War with Vecna and it’s a lot different considering it’s the apocalypse but they never drop it.
And when things are finally over and they can finally live a life that isn’t full of battling interdimensional creatures they’re able to bring it back full force. And it’s really full force because now they don’t care about what others think, about the kids their age would say or what they’d do, not after all the stuff they just went though. 
So all through their last year of highschool, you get some crazy imaginative fits. Some of them are sleek and cool and others just go absolutely crazy.
El’s style is a mashup of so many things. She’s very versatile but it’s always always accompanied by some form of patterns and color. She is not a dull color kind of girl and it really shows. Her favorite thing to do is also accessorize, she’s got all kinds of things, a lot that she’s made. Earrings made of things she’s found around the house and repainted, charm brackets with giant charms, you name it!
Will’s own style is a lot more simplified but the edges of El’s influence still show on him. He’s kind of got like a preppy, neat and tidy look. But that’s just in the way that he fits the clothes to his body, all tucked shirts and ironed pants. No wrinkles. If you were to take that away it’d be a bit more grungy but with lots of color. A distressed undershirt here and there covered by a button up he’s left opened and tucked for example. El’s influence comes into place with the patterns. Sometimes he’ll get shirts that have crazy patterns on them that he really likes looking at (he starts to do this more as he gets older too) but mostly his crazed patterns can be found on the socks he’s wearing. He’s got a whole collection and it starts to become a habit for others to randomly gift him some too.
Eventually this kind of things starts to rub off on the whole party and now everyone has at least one pair of absolutely atrociously styled socks!

I 100% agree with ur predictions. It’s what I am leaning more towards too. The only thing still unclear to me is the Ben promo pic looking at Devi in her locker, would go ahead and assume it’s after NYC when they’re finally besties again. The pic of them studying or some sorts is still unclear to me which episode but will go ahead and say around 406. And that random clip of Devi in a bed (? with a metallic outfit on it must be from the NYC episode. There’s a lot of things I’m still confused about but I agree with ur theories and how everything gets a conclusion.
I think that Devi/Paxton scene is the only one explicitly romantic they’ll get because it will serve as a conclusion for their arc. The writers high key closed their arc well on Season 3 and the only reason Paxton is a coach is to keep Darren in the finale season. That’s very clear. But their arc was pretty much completed.
Devi and Ben for sure will have sex again after prom on Devi’s room but this time it won’t be like 401 because they are clear on it and Devi isn’t doing it out of rush but there’s a lot of love and softness in it. We might even see the after match of them being calm and not longer the awkwardness after their first time.
I even thought about how in that Jaren and Maitreyi celebration video for their last scene. Mait is wearing the corsage but not her updo hairstyle from prom so it must be another attempt at prom. A clever person said that it looks like it could be her graduation dress since Devi is wearing her hair down similarly to that video but the outfit is covered by the red graduation gown so this could be the same episode of their graduation (Devi gets to be valedictorian) and Ben prepares a “retry” of prom for her.
*I might go further and say the library scene is a flash toward scene to college.

the promo pic i think you're talking about (inserted below) is actually from 406! so yes, it's after the club fight in 405, which im still assuming is nyc since the settings for every scene in this episode seems different than the show's usual sets. he seems very fond of her here and i assume they're engaging in their routine locker banter. its what gave me the impression that they patch things up after the club incident.
as for the pic of them studying which i am also putting below (correct me if its not the one you're talking about) its from 409. the same episode as prom. im assuming its before because i don't really see them placing prom at the beginning of an episode, but it could be possible that it's the morning after he climbs into her window and whatever happens after.
devi in this outfit still has me confused. she looks amazing, but it's clear its in some effort to seduce a guy, im assuming. i do agree with you about it being in nyc, although im not sure. my guess? she's decorated ethan's hotel room to have sex with him. its giving the same vibes as devi trying to have sex with des. again, don't know what and why or how this fits into the main plot, but i guess we'll see. it doesn't help that i can't seem to figure out which episode this is in.
you're much more hopeful than me to believe the supply closet scene is their only romantic scene. considering she's already romantically involved with ethan in the first half of the season, id say that makes sense considering the time we have left to develop ben and devi. but this show always throws me off-guard so fingers crossed its true! really did feel like they closed off their arc in s3 but i guess some closure is allowed, still it just feels like dragging atp.
agree on prom! if not sex, some form of intimacy has to happen. whether its a really honest pillow talk, or a full on romantic scene, we'll have to wait till june to see.
you're very right about her hair! although it could be just the actress letting her hair down after filming. about the dress, it seems to be a part of an american eagle campaign which she was a part of, so i don't know if its as much a graduation dress as just a part of maitreyi's wardrobe. i could be wrong though and regardless, am holding out hope for a prom redo of sorts.

mandatory favorite character infodump
Recently I have been seeing lots of aweosme fanart of Raine Whispers (From TOH) dressed in Lapis Lazuli’s outfit (Form SU). This has brought to my attention not only the similarities between Raine and Lapis, but I have also considered Raven from 2003 Teen Titans. See the divided character analysis below...
Lapis Lazuli:
-Often considered the most powerful character in Steven Universe (Although this is debated)
-She has been manipulated by her own kind, both when she was trapped in the mirror and when she was fused with Jasper. However, Malachite was equally toxic on both parts. Lapis was both the manipulated and the manipulator.
-This is a sillier bit I observed, but notice she is often paired with a green-coded love interest (non-canon)
-Now to the drowning imagery. In Chille Tid, Lapis is shown fighting with Jasper for power over Malachite. The way this fight for power is portrayed is that whoever is out of control is trapped under the surface of obscure, murky green water, effectively drowning, even as gems cannot physically drown. She is fighting against someone who she has gotten stuck with and remains with in order to keep her away from Steven. To protect Steven.
-The last critical element of Lapis is, because of her trauma related to water, she has a lack of control over her powers. Similar to...
Raven:
-Most powerful character in Teen Titans; however, she is frequently limited by...
-The lack of control and threat to herself. If Raven doesn’t mediate and reel herself in, she is at risk of losing control and being exploited by her father. The unfortunate fact that she has to limit her powers and control her emotions to an almost unhealthy point leads to her being manipulated by Terra. More on that in a minute.
-Once again, often paired with a green-coded love interest.
-When she is manipulated by Terra during one of the final battles in Aftershock: Part 1, Terra starts the battle struggling to keep up with Raven’s prowess and control over her powers. If I recall correctly, Slade reminds Terra to use what she knows about Raven to bring her down. Terra starts talking, criticizing Raven about how foolish she was in trusting her, and how this was all her fault for letting Terra slip past her carefully crafted defenses. This angers Raven and she begins to lose her temper, her attacks become looser as her aim falters. Terra uses this to her advantage. Eventually, she drowns Raven in muddy water.
Raven drowns trying to neutralize someone who has harmed not only those close to her but the entire city; someone working to have control over everything but who doesn’t know they are being controlled in return.
During Fear Itself, Raven is also shown drowning. However, this is due to her own emotional state and not the interference of another.
Raine Whispers: The wild card
-Arguably one of the most powerful characters in The Owl House. They are put in the position of coven head, a position that the general population of the Boiling Isles deems the most powerful. They were called “annoyingly powerful” by the main antagonist.
-Has been manipulated ever since they were young, but they remain a freedom fighter regardless. Unlike the other two characters I have mentioned, Raine is often quiet when it comes to being taken advantage of. They know that it’s the best way to fight from the inside, so they let themselves be used; specifically by Terra.
Again, unlike Raven and Lapis (moreso unlike Lapis), Raine is physically manipulated by Belos during episodes 2 and 3 of s3. This aspect of physical manipulation could be related very loosely to Raven, but actually is more similar to Terra’s demise at the hands of Slade. Both Terra and Raine broke free from the control, fought their manipulator, and eventually, killed both Belos and Slade.
-They are the green-coded love interest (of Eda)
-Briefly, in Watching and Dreaming, they are shown to be suffocating/drowning in Belos’s sludge. This moment is only a few seconds long, but the symbolism stands regardless.
What does it mean to drown?
Drowning often represents one’s internal state. In dreams, it has been observed as a symbol of rising above personal struggle. Lapis’s case in particular showcases the meaning of drowning in the ocean. This usually means that you are learning to let go of control. Fitting.
With Raven, drowning in mud is also very succinct. Mud represents many different struggles, but most notably a lack of control over emotions and an inability to escape a situation.
Raine is, once again, the wild card here. They are not exactly drowning, per se, To avoid any incorrect interpretation, I have applied suffocation to Raine, rather than drowning. Suffocation is often a symbol of feeling trapped and wholly overwhelmed. Feelings of restriction are also associated.
I’d love to hear more opinions on this! It was just an idea that I wanted to flesh out on paper--- I enjoyed coming up with similarities between my favs :3 It’s obviously very self indulgent lol

"live" blogging s7, vol 1 (some analysis, some jokes lol)
first off, I totally forgot there were other casa amor girls so opening the app to see them on the banner I was like oooo
the S7 MC isn't too bad art wise, like it's definitely better than I thought with the preview, but
I do think the skinnier size MC is super skinny and the bigger one is not that much bigger, which is a little disappointing (always appreciate more size inclusion). ideally I think there would be one more size up i think but I do understand that means they'd have to fix all the clothes 3 times.
speaking of clothes they've always been bad at the beginning of the season since like s4 and this is no exception. I wish we got more options in the beginning and then the others they tack on later
the skin tones really are only three shades with each having one warmer variation, which is kind of nice to have people get that option in tone, but I do still wish there were more shades variation in between (and darker ones in general)
for absolutely no reason I have decided that my MC is also gonna be the S5 MC from my first playthrough getting a second chance after a second failed relationship with Suresh (let's just pretend she didn't win her season lol) and she's cute in this style (but again i wish we had the right skin tone for her). I guess if fusebox is backing out of bringing back Eddie then I'm bringing my MC
Her name is Junie and she's doing a lot better now mentally and has gained a little bit of healthy weight and finally loves herself now so fusebox better not make an embarrassment out of her again.
this actually works out pretty well bc usually the casa amor girls on the show arrive at the same time unless something is special about one of them who can show up separately like MC does here (ok fine I've only seen that happen in LI USA S5 and I guess s6 of the game)

If you would pair up all main 7 girls in SL with each other, how would you feel about every pairing?
Ok, let's do in an order here then, starting with Luna and then going from there.
Luna/Ámbar - Yes very much <3 Except for the very fact that S3 made this a little "eeeeh". But I had a field trip shipping them in S1 before I knew... idk they had a lot of moments that still makes me go "wait what-" but... going canonically, I am still very happy they are close in one way <3 And they're one of my favorite relationships on the show.
Luna/Nina - They had some moments, I'm thinking when Luna said she was going on a date with Nina, when Monica thought they were dating, and then when Luna practically gave her a love confession in the final ep lol. So I see it. But I also kinda see Nina as straight HSHSDJFKX like it's a mix - I see her as straight but if I'd imagine her with a girl I could picture her with Luna, maybe. They can platonically get married for tax purposes /j
Luna/Jim - I didn't see it a lot but people have made me warm up to it. They should kiss.
Luna/Yam - They don't interact much alone those two, but I think they could work as a pairing. Yam would teach Luna all about queer history and slang (cause we KNOW she knows all about that) and giggle when Luna messes up some fact but tries to hard because she wants to show her gf she's listening!!
Luna/Delfi - Nah I don't see it tbh. I feel like they'd not really understand each other's vibes. They can be good friends tho.
Luna/Jazmin - Jazmin would be so excited to make videos about Luna, record her all the time skating, and they always be seen giggling together. Everyone else would wonder how they work, but they just do.
Ámbar/Nina - Haha yes Ámbar decides to seduce Luna's other best friends instead /j. Don't know how it would work out, I feel like Nina wouldn't be too into it.
Ámbar/Jim - Jim would feel nervous, especially since Ámbar is in another social status than her, and Ámbar would probably be a little... dominant in the relationship. I feel like it could work, but it would be a little rocky to begin with.
Ámbar/Yam - Listen I feel like this could be so interesting if these two just could share a conversation alone. I like this "unlikely bond" they'd have, when they just share their thoughts and be like "huh, I seem to relate to her more than I think". Then they'd get closer and kind of realize they may want some more, and it starts kind of as a secret relationship cause they don't know how people will react, but then they'd tell more and more people and be a pretty nice couple.
Ámbar/Delfi - I sometimes wonder if Delfi has a small crush on her and doesn't know how to handle it. I think if Ámbar was a little nicer to her, this could work lol
Ámbar/Jazmin - Jazmin would be Ámbar's number 1 fan, always brag to everyone THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND!!! And Ámbar would be a little embarrassed but also she secretly thinks it's so cute how much her gf cares <3
Nina/Jim - You know, Jim has chemistry with every girl ever and they had a little moment in S3 that made me go "hm, yeah, maybe".
Nina/Yam - This could potentially work too, I think Yam would love to sing to her or make her cute outfits.
Nina/Delfi - Nah not really
Nina/Jazmin - Jazmin were comforting her off screen after her breakup, and idk I think they'd be a fun and an unlikely pairing that somehow works.
Jim/Yam - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jim/Delfi - Idk it could work, they'd have lots of skating dates and duets together.

This is for @heir-of-the-chair, who was curious about my RwD binder!
It’s all digital for the moment, because a) I don’t want to print out new versions of all the character stuff after s3 comes out, and b) I started it right at the end of the school year, and I don’t have a printer, so I’m going to have to wait until school starts again at the end of January to be able to print anything on the school printer anyway.
Let the tour begin, I guess
This is the whole folder - we’ve got extra little folders for analysis and breakdowns of things, character profiles of NPCs and PCs, folders for my silly little sketches and fics (both of which are so self-indulgent that I probably won’t share them tbh, but honestly? who knows. also maybe i’ll draw/write something that i’m more inclined to share at a later date), then you’ve got theories, which is currently empty, but will probably be filled very quickly the second the first episode of s3 drops, and then the final folder is the in-progress transcripts of all the episodes.
There are also just some documents with my personal favourite moments from the show, the descriptions of their gala outfits (for possible drawing purposes later, especially Dani), an incredibly quick domino effect meme I made (which I’m happy to share if someone wants it) and then my personal modern headcanons for the crew (which I may also share if anyone is interested).
These are all the NPCs that I currently have profiles for - either because they’re really interesting, I love them, we have a lot of information for them or they’re somewhat important to any of the characters. You can see that some of them (Cressida and Elyse, my beloveds) have had more work done to them than others and that is because a) we have a fair bit of information for those two and b) I love them. There are a couple of important NPCs that aren’t here, mostly from s2, and the reason for that is because we don’t really know a whole lot about them, and definately not enough to fill a profile with. Mystra isn’t there yet, and neither is any of VR-LA’s old crew, because anything on any of those is entirely reliant on whatever happens in s3.
NPC character profiles include the character’s name, their race, their resident wierd little dude (if they have one - this is basically just Cressida and also maybe Hira? undecided on whether to count the frost salamander as a wierd little dude or not. also not 100% on if Lula counts, so), their appearance, personality, any character arc they may have (this one is particularly for Ione and Elyse, both of whom have some fairly major events and changes that we see), any relationships they may have with the rest of the crew or other characters, any noteable magic items/characteristics/quotes and, if known, their plane of origin, max HP, AC, alignment and age.
The character profiles for PCs are broken down further into one-shot PCs and guests, and the crew of the Per Aspera.
One-shot PCs and guests includes exactly who you thought it would: the Curse of the Amulet gang and our boy Hans. Yes, the Curse of the Amulet gang have last names, no, none of them are there, yes that is because I both keep forgetting to write them down and also I don’t know how to spell some of them. Also, yeah, most of the Curse of the Amulet crew haven’t been worked on yet, this binder is still a definite work in progress. I will get there though, I swear!
The crew of the Per Aspera is also very self-explainatory regarding who it includes, it is our main four PCs. Dani’s is the largest so far because her’s was the first one I made, and so, while it is also unfinished, it has had a bit more work put into it than the other three.
PC profiles include the exact same information as NPC profiles, but they also include who plays a character, a character’s class and a lot more detail, especially in the backstory department.
Like I said, the drawing and fic is just for me, and the theories folder is empty, so I’m not going to be putting screenshots of those in.
The transcripts folder is very organised, with a folder for level-ups, one-shots, Q and As and a folder for each season (although s3 is obviously empty right not). Each transcript includes a description of the episode up top, as well as a list of NPCs that make an appearance. In terms of completion, s1 ep1 is the only one with any real progress made, I’m about half an hour in, and it is taking approximately forever.
There’s the beginning of ep1, if anyone is curious as to how I’m formatting those.
But yeah, that’s basically the whole will-be binder! (I do have a physical binder to put them in, it’s just not with me right now, so no photo of that, I’m afraid). Happy to share specific things or give more detail or any of that jazz if people are interested, but. Yeah!

i’ve finished skybound. hoooo boy. you know how this goes. s6 you are. a season.
after the finale i can 100% understand why people have mixed feelings abt skybound
there were. A Lot of things i liked. the beginning was a bit slow (again) (maybe i need to understand what “rising action” means) but once jay encountered nadakhan it really picked up from the sheer “what the fuck just happened” factor that kept me watching in morbid curiosity.
this season feels like. an apology letter to nya, for how she’s treated in earlier seasons. there’s the media aspect of her being viewed as “the girl ninja” by the general public that feels deliberately meta, and i think this is. generally done well? to a degree. in a lot of her statements on this nya comes across in a very “not like other girls” way, but the intent to do good with this is still there.
a detail i really liked is that everyone keeps ther s5 gi, but nya is the odd one out design wise, since hers takes inspo from the s1 zx (?) gi. i REALLY liked that she only gets a matching gi in episode 8, which is when she is (for once, finally) emotionally honest with jay, about how frustrated she is at her lack of agency. she’s always been this way, but following her tough independant girl persona (likely put on out of this frustration, and a want to not be defined by men) she’s never honest with her feelings to any of the guys before this (most felt in s3, lmao). it’s only here, when she chooses to be one of the ninja that she’s truly part of the group, which is symbolized through her changing outfits to match them.
this. goes downhill from there. the finale is urghhhhrhrh. so. we have this arc about independance, about putting up false fronts out of frustration, of wanting to not be defined by others. and what happens? she gets fucking fridged. are you kidding. the whole marriage plot just feels yikes to watch (though nya shares that feeling, lmao) and i think it would’ve been wayyyy better if it didn’t succeed, but that’s not climatic enough, i guess. nooooo, we have to completely rob nya of agency that she clawed for the past two seasons so jay can dramatically save her. feminist statement alright. like. oh my god. they were doing so good and then THAT. nya gets to deal the final blow to the big bad in s5 by herself and now she gets brainwashed. even the s2 finale did her better than this.
like cmon man.
LIKE YOU WERE DOING SO GOOD addressing how nya has been treated and how this is unfair and how she deserves more than to be kai’s sister or jay’s girlfriend and THENNN.
moving on.
jay this season. i love him. i’m going to hit him with a hammer. the anxiety disorder rep i deserve. jay has anxiety i have anxiety. i know this.
HE’S SOOOO. GODDDD. again (gestures at episode 4). it’s nice to have the general undercurrents of his character brought to the forefront like this. he was never over nya he was never over his upbringing. he’s always been self-conscious and to have this go soo disastrously wrong is tasty material. episode 4 killed me in my sleep i was so baffled. my guy retconed his own backstory (perhaps?? i remember reading he actually IS adopted regularly too but no one tells him abt it) and it’s so fucked up man. that moment is soo fucked up. i love it.
the one v one scenes of nadakhan with the ninja were reaaaally good. suspenseful and total trainwrecks. he totally just bamboozled kai and it was fun to watch zane fail to outwit him (because he forgot pixal is a separate person from himself rip. wait pixal technically also gets fridged this season-). man those scenes were just FUN.
also nadakhan calling him out and then ed calling him out on hiding behind his jokes and how jay has always been the super anxious pessimistic one despite being the comic relief. again. anxiety disorder if you get it you get it.
it’s vry nice to see chivalry at the cost of women’s agency portrayed as cringe loser behaviour that jay needs to get over. again ep8 is the highlight of the season i think. it really gave both nya and jay a place to shine. nya going “It’s my future too” is SOOO GOOD. jay learns to really listen to nya and what she wants and she’s honest to him and herself that she still does want to be with him and he still wants to be with her and it’s sweet. the reversal at the end where she protects him plays into it well but (gestures at finale and clenches teeth)
other things. i thought ep9 where jay assembles a crew of sidecharacters was cool and sweet. i liked seeing those bozos again, and jay having confidence in himself thanks to his dad telling him off. good moment.
the jay / cole friendship this season. SUPERB. they are BESTIES. cole is just super supportive of jay. i love that. i’m really glad that s4 just ironed that out for good. “I’m not just his friend, I’m his best friend.” GOOD SHIT MAN. they had a LOT of great moments like cole being the first to see when jay’s hiding his encounter with nadakhan. “I know you too well” GOOD SHIT MAN!!!!!!! LOVE THIS DYNAMIC!!!

lloyd getting tomorrow’s tea x2 was a really fun gag and smart choice to have him be the cryptic advice character. also he looks exactly like his dad. fun times.
i liked the development of nadakhan’s crew. they really just wanted a home, and not power or whatever. i think it’s fun to compare jay and clancey (?) since they’re kinda similar. clancey is the stuttery blabbering comic relief of the crew, similar to jay, but clancey is more undervalued for it. it being clancey specifically who secures the black widow’s poison and tells it to jay feels significant here, since that way clancey and jay both gaining confidence in themselves and their own value mirrors each other.
nya is fun to compare to dogshank (is that how you spell it?) for their couple scenes explicitly doing so. “We fight like girls, not like cowards!” that’s a good line. dogshank is kinda like how nya becomes, situation wise. dogshank is well respected in her group, she has her own thing going, being the strong burly one (atypical depiction of femininity! nice touch! similar to how nya is kinda butch as hell ngl), but dogshank is still proud of being a woman, and not afraid to show it (see that one scene where she’s playing harp.) feels significant for this comparison that it’s dogshank who manages to ultimately capture nya.
twas fun how nadakhan’s crew turned against him cuz he just did not give a shit about them lol. like how clancy loved his position, low as it may have been, and never wanted a wish. this complacency is shattered when he’s forced to make a wish, and he realized he was never valued at all by nadakhan. flintlock (godddd how do you spell these fuckers) is also cool in how the fuckin. psychosomatic. properties of wishes are explained (his aim sucks now because he believes it sucks now). ALSOO how the seeds of doubt came up through jay telling the truth and essentially copying nadakhan’s underhanded negotiation tactics to fuck with flintlock. THAT was also a cool scene i liked it.
to summarize. episodes 1-3. kinda meh. episodes 4-8. really good. season finale. bro what are you doing <3 clumsy but well intentioned handling of feminist themes that fall short because the finale plays into long established sexist tropes. ending the season on jay and nya kissing being broadcast on television after it was public perception that made nya bury her feelings seems kinda bad taste, though. anway. i’m going to sleep.

I’m calling this thread - I have a lot of thoughts on the incorporation of the Myth of Cupid & Psyche, & how that relates back to Eve & Villanelle:
Firstly, while Eve seems to perceive herself in the episode as Psyche, Eve actually acts as Cupid in this use of mythological imagery, she’s the heart of the story. She personifies ‘eternal love & desire’, and in Villanelle’s eyes represents what she’s searching for - ‘…a certain type of evenness, a certain type of humanity or the possibility of humanity, which Eve embodies naturally.’ - Sandra Oh.
Villanelle on the other hand is personifying Psyche. She’s the representation of ‘the human soul’. Beautiful and revered but ultimately overlooked, always admired by The 12 for her talent but never really loved for who she is, only what she is, as she states to Konstantin during their meeting at the end of the Ep5.
In early seasons we see how Villanelle is happily with her life/job, content to follow other people’s orders, beliefs systems & accept payment through materialistic things such as money, clothes, her apartment etc. However, once Eve enters her orbit, we see Villanelle go through sadness, loneliness, longing, desperation & heartbreak.
Her story begins to imitate that of Psyche’s further in S3. Her disillusionment with her life/self begins to illustrate a desperate journey of personal transformation as Villanelle delves through different layers of awareness of personal development which is prompted by her need for love.
Also worth mentioning is representations of Villanelle’s metamorphosis in the show so far - Villanelle holding the butterfly in Ep2, Villanelle becoming aware of her change in Ep3 with Martin and Ep5 we see her helping others only to conclude she needs to help herself first.
Psyche is also often depicted with butterfly wings in artistic interpretations, so the use of Villanelle’s outfit in Ep5 is glorious, an outward physical representation of those butterfly wings, a homage to her emerging, full transformation. It shows the culmination of her hardships and earned awareness of the humanity she does in fact have; the epitome of a blossomed soul.
If we go back to Eve personifying Cupid, we can even take the ballroom/bridge scene & assign them the depth they were originally missing. In the myth Psyche wasn’t allowed to see Cupid's face, in a way that mirrors that while Villanelle has been allowed in Eve’s world & has enjoyed her control over her, she still ultimately has never had Eve fully.
Eve’s denial acts as the representation of Cupid not revealing his face to Psyche & Eve’s refusal to see her & Villanelle in a place of equilibrium; she’s falling into darkness as Villanelle seeks the light. The bridge/ballroom scene did give Villanelle a glimpse of Eve’s truth in a way that really mirrors Psyche finally seeing Cupid’s face even when she wasn’t meant to, as if Villanelle shooting Eve wore her resistance down by the time we got to the end of S3. But as a result of this moment Cupid (Eve) flees, withdrawing not only himself from Psyche’s (Villanelle’s) life but closing off love too.
Season 4 is now acting as the tasks set by Aphrodite to allow Psyche to reunite with Cupid, they seem an impossible task for Psyche, and in our world for Villanelle who struggles to understand her awareness of humanity. Aphrodite being represented in this story by Hélène/Konstantin/Carolyn/The 12/anyone who has done them wrong.
S4 shows Villanelle at a disadvantage; Eve refusing to attend the baptism, Vision!nelle actually being the worst manipulative part of herself, Eve having her arrested, Hélène telling her she can’t escape the 12 & assigning her a new job. Yet Villanelle commits unwaveringly to her self discovery, she may not succeed in becoming ‘good’ but she definitely succeeds in grasping her own awareness of who she is & what that means to her & what she wants herself to be.
When Hélène has Villanelle shot by the arrow while Villanelle is regarding herself in the mirror of the Jesus statue, it makes me think of Psyche opening Persephone’s box, expecting to find one thing only to find another in its place. It’s at that point that Cupid returns to Psyche, & Eve to Villanelle, with the realisation that she has been wrong & foolish. This moment is so important because it shows Villanelle’s continued dedication to self reflection and growth as real, while also highlighting the inevitable ineffectiveness of Eve's desire for revenge, & finally puts Villanelle & Eve on equal grounds.
I believe the remaining episodes will show the perseverance of Eve (the heart) even though she has been possessed by desire, & the continued efforts of Villanelle (the soul) to overcome the remaining obstacles in order to achieve the ultimate goal of love. In theme with the notion of having faith in the one you love over everyone else.
I think ultimately Eve & Villanelle’s story will try to highlight that human souls long for eternal love & happiness, but it is something that can only be achieved through struggle & hardship, while likewise the unconditional love dwelling in the heart is what serves to help the soul transcend & gain eventual victory over death. In the myth of Cupid & Psyche they enter paradise together, & live happily ever after. I believe Eve & Villanelle are destined to be together forever, in this life and the next.
