Favorite Buddie fics of 2023!
Every single year at @epicstuckyficrecs I used to do a fic rec at the end of the year with my favorite fics. I figured I should keep the tradition going! Actress and Author, Lara Parker, of Dark Shadows, Passes at 84
Lara Parker, who found the role of a lifetime at just 28 years old when she was cast by Dark Shadows producer Dan Curtis as the beautiful, vengeful and altogether evil witch Angelique Bouchard Collins, died October 12 in her sleep in Los Angeles following a battle with cancer. She was 84.
Her death was announced by producer Jim Pierson of Dan Curtis Productions, on behalf of Parker’s family.
“I’m heartbroken, as all of us are who knew and loved her,” said her Dark Shadows co-star and longtime friend Kathryn Leigh Scott in a statement. “She graced our lives with her beauty, talent and friendship, and we are all richer for having had her in our lives.”
Parker was born Mary Lamar Rickey on Oct. 27, 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her father, Albert, was an attorney, and her mother, Ann, was active in civic groups.
She graduated from Central High School in Memphis and attended Vassar — she roomed with Jane Fonda there — and Rhodes College in Memphis, where at 19 she served as Wink Martindale’s assistant on his WHBQ-TV show, Dance Party. She then earned a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.
Parker, who also authored four popular Dark Shadows-related novels from 1998-2016, arrived on the supernatural soap opera in 1967, not long after Canadian actor Jonathan Frid had been cast as vampire Barnabas Collins. Frid’s storyline changed the show from a moody, Gothic Jane Eyre-type serial into a flat-out horror show.
During breaks in production, Parker acted on Broadway in September 1968 in Woman Is My Idea, which lasted just five performances, and in the early Brian De Palma film Hi, Mom! (1970), starring Robert De Niro.
And toward the end of the daytime serial, she and fellow castmembers including John Karlen, Kate Jackson, David Selby and Grayson Hall appeared in the poorly received MGM film Night of Dark Shadows (1971).
In 1972, Parker relocated to Los Angeles and went on to appear on episodes of such shows as Medical Center, Kojak, The Rockford Files, Police Woman, Kolchak: The Night Stalker (as a witch) and The Incredible Hulk, where she played David Banner’s first wife in a flashback sequence in the pilot.
In her later years, Parker turned to writing and teaching — her novels include Angelique’s Descent (1998), The Salem Branch (2006), Wolf Moon Rising (2013) and Heiress of Collinwood (2016). The books proved popular among Dark Shadows‘ still-devoted, conventions-attending fan base, as well as devotees of romance and horror genre novels.
Parker kept in touch with her co-stars including Scott, Selby, Roger Davis, the late John Karlen and others throughout her life, particularly once the conventions became annual events in the late 1980s through the 1990s and up to the 50th anniversary celebration in 2017.
Many of the original cast, including Parker, recorded a series of Dark Shadows audio dramas in the 2000s released by Big Finish Productions. They also reunited for a “Smartphone Theatre” Zoom-style, Covid-era performance of A Christmas Carol in 2021 and, on Halloween night 2020, a YouTube/Zoom Dark Shadows cast reunion.
Parker is survived by second husband Jim Hawkins, daughter Caitlin, sons Rick and Andy, and their wives Miranda and Celia; and grandson Wesley.

I cried. I admit it.
The tribute to Len was beautiful. Seeing all those pros again brought back old memories and listening to how much they loved and admired Len was just emotional. Val and Jenna choreographed a beautiful Viennese waltz to "Moon River" that was simple but fantastic. Len really would've loved it. When it ended with them all standing on the floor, facing the judges' table with Len's old seat glowing with a white light, I pretty much lost it. I'm honestly tearing up writing about it. You could see their grief as the camera panned over them before it cut to Bruno absolutely breaking down as Carrie Ann hugged him. It was raw and it was powerful and it was real. There was no better tribute to the man who was the heart of this show.
Naturally, the rest of Most Memorable Year Night was just as emotional. Our remaining stars paid tributes to important years in their lives - years ranging from 1968 to 2023 - and danced to routines inspired by that year. Almost half the stars danced contemporary routines, which always promise to be emotional.
So who had a memorable night and who had one they would rather forget? Let's check it out!
Mira and Gleb: I was surprised by this elimination. I figured it would be either Harry or Alyson but it seemed that the audience decided to send Mira home. But she can be proud to have danced this routine before leaving. She chose 2004 as her most memorable year, which was when her daughter was born. Her daughter studies dance and joined Mira and Gleb for a contemporary routine that also honored Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, though it could not be mentioned due to the writer's strike. It was light, fun and beautiful. And Mira looked absolutely beautiful next to her daughter. Overall, a great routine.
Charity and Artem: Charity chose 2022 as her most memorable year because she found the strength to leave a toxic relationship and then went on the Bachelor, which led to her being on the Bachelorette and finding her fiancé. She and Artem danced a contemporary routine to "Lose You to Love Me" and it was mesmerizing. Charity finally had an emotional connection to the dance and like I suspected, it elevated her dancing to help her earn the first 10 of the season from Carrie Ann.
Xochitl and Val: Xochitl chose 2021 as her most memorable year as it was when she was cast in her first big movie, though it came at the cost of her quinceanera. So she got a chance to have a taste of her quinceanera with a Viennese waltz to "Until I Found You." And she continues to look absolutely gorgeous and to keep improving week after week. She also earned a 10 for her routine - this time from Derek.
Jason and Daniella: Jason's most memorable year was 1999, when he decided to move to California to pursue a music career. He and Daniella danced a quickstep to "On the Road Again" to memorialize that road trip that changed his life. Jason continues to easily be the best male star in this competition and proves why he continues to remain at the top of the leaderboard. I also have to give him kudos for being the star to dance after the emotional tribute to Len. That couldn't have been easy, especially given how lighthearted his routine was. But it was just what was needed in that moment.
Ariana and Pasha: Unsurprisingly, Ariana chose this year as her Most Memorable Year. She talked about learning that her boyfriend and best friend were having an affair behind her back and having that play out in public and on TV. But she also talked about how she found a new strength inside herself and has bounced back. She danced a Viennese waltz with Pasha that was again gorgeous and strong. I loved the ending shot of her glaring at the camera before walking with Pasha glaring as well, like he was protecting Ariana.
Barry and Peta: Barry chose 1968, the year right before The Brady Bunch premiered and his life changed. He talked about loving to ride his motorcycle and enjoying his life. He and Peta danced a paso doble and I was surprised. I consider it a difficult dance to master but he managed it well. He was strong and completed the routine with little flaws. Maybe this is his turning point - we'll see how he does next week.
Lele and Brandon: Lele chose 2020 as her most memorable year as that was the year she got honest about her own struggles with mental health. She said that she realized that if she was an influencer, she wanted to influence people to take care of their own mental health. Lele talked about the positive response but mentioned there was a backlash, including a comment about how no one would marry her with all her issues. But she then met the man who became her husband and he surprised her in rehearsals. Lele and Brandon danced a beautiful contemporary about her battle with mental health and how she found a way to win it, ending with her dancing with her husband. It was beautiful and really let Lele shine.
Mauricio and Emma: Mauricio's most memorable year was 1996 when he lost his job and with the support of his wife Kyle decided to go into real estate, a decision that changed their lives. He and Emma danced a contemporary that reflected the uncertainty and support he got during that time as he got a new career off the ground. It certainly was one of his best routines so far.
Alyson and Sasha: Alyson chose 2003 as her most memorable year as it was when she married her husband Alexis Denisof. She talked about how they met and became friends while working on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and then fell in love. It's really clear listening to her and Alexis that they really love each other and have a great relationship. She and Sasha danced a Viennese waltz, incorporating a yellow umbrella - a nod to How I Met Your Mother. It was beautiful but Alyson still is at the bottom of the pack. As much as I love her, I keep resigning myself to the fact that she is likely to be eliminated any week now.
Harry and Rylee: Harry chose 2020 for his most memorable year and he spoke about how fame affected him. He said he fell into a lifestyle that wasn't good for him but his friends helped remind him who he was and who he wanted to be. So he and Rylee danced a contemporary to honor how they supported him. And I felt it was a step back for him. He didn't seem very comfortable with the dance style and that Rylee did most of the work. When compared to Mauricio, who did a lot of dancing, Harry just seemed to move around and support Rylee rather than the other way around. Harry is likeable and very good looking but I don't think the voters can save him for much longer.

Arin and Soobin tarot reading - how is their dynamic sustaining?
I asked tarot what is the relationship between these two K-POP stars: Arin from girl group Oh My Girl and Soobin from boy group TXT, as they used to work together presenting live a weekly TV show called Music Bank. the duo ended their project together in October 2021, what is their dynamic at the time being (13/05/2023 GMT-3)? this is what the cards showed me!
keep in mind, I don't know much about either of them!

it seems their relationship is still of work friends, it doesn't seem to be anything deep but they definitely have fun around each other, they're comfortable.
I'm seeing reunions and shared wealth, mostly community cards, i think they might make a comeback as an mc duo because of their success! it's either that or they found a way to still be friends outside of work, but it's only through reunions, doesn't look like anything consistent. it seems they go out drinking with other friends around, they all split the bill and they have a good time :) there might be some jealousy and nostalgia underneath, but it's very mild, I think they miss seeing each other every week, they might be too busy to hang out oftenly.

Borrowed Courage: Chapter 1

Ten years later…
September 15th, 2021
“Almost… there…” With a final grunt of exertion, Brooke Tucker jammed the last thumbtack into the drywall, pinning her metre-long Green Day poster above the bedhead. She fell into a crouch from her precarious position balanced tiptoed on the edge of her desk to reach the ceiling, and stretched out her aching arms. Then, retreating to the doorway to admire her handiwork, she allowed herself a small smile.
It had taken almost the entire day, but, with perseverance—and a little extra motivation courtesy of her phone pumping out the latest rock music—her belongings were unpacked. Granted, the dimly lit five-square-meter space was nothing like her old bedroom, but if she pushed all of that aside for a moment, it almost felt like home again. For now, that was enough. There would be plenty of time to get used to living in a dingy apartment block on the other side of town, she reasoned bitterly.
Heaving a sigh, Brooke brushed the dust off of her faded jeans and wandered into the hallway (if you’d call it that) to join her parents. They’d long since taken a break from unpacking, and she could hear the familiar sounds of her mum cooking dinner at the stove and her dad watching TV from his favourite armchair in their newly dubbed living room. She hesitated for a moment, listening. If she closed her eyes and let the sound drown out everything else for just a moment, it gave her the illusion of familiarity. That is, until she opened them and entered the living room.
She swallowed back another sigh.
This was her life now, and Brooke couldn’t pretend forever.
“‘We will not hide any longer.’ Those historic words spoken by the US Borrower Representative, Flint Oakland, continue to resound in our hearts as we look back on the moment ten years ago today, when society took its first step towards what would become a dramatic change.”
The TV blared from its new position against one of the beige walls. Brooke’s father was slumped in his chair not three feet away, glaring daggers at its surface—or more specifically, the daily news. She could barely remember the man he’d been two months ago, but then again, it didn’t really matter. Now, Doug Tucker was one swig of beer away from an alcoholic, his salt and pepper hair overgrown and unkept and eyes watery and withdrawn.
He said nothing when she stepped inside, wholly fixated on the beer bottle in his hand and the news in his periphery. “His first public appearance, famously known as Oakland vs Oak Ridge, left the world speechless,” the anchorman continued, “and in the many years to come, no one could have predicted the sheer tenacity of this global movement towards human and borrower equality.”
How many times had she heard this story now? Brooke leant against the doorway, listening to the news report play out but really wishing she’d just stayed in her room.
“We flash back to September 15th, 2011, a day that started out as any other until the infamous Oak Ridge Laboratory footage which gave humanity its first glimpse of the borrower race, went live. Four months after the incident and Subject #215, who we all now know as Grey Stonewell, shared a heartwarming reunion with his friends and family as he was released from the lab’s custody. Now, Grey works for ‘Borrow-Ed’, an international charity aiming to integrate borrower children into the human education system. In his latest interview, he offered his thoughts on the last decade.”
The scene shifted to a clip of Grey Stonewell, addressing a crowd of humans and borrowers alike from a scaled down lectern emblazoned with the Borrow-Ed logo. “I think about my time in Oak Ridge a lot, and honestly could not have imagined this outcome.” He said. “Standing here now in the presence of my wife and kids, I just want to thank Xavier Sanders, or Employee X as many of you remember him, Flint Oakland, and the team at ‘Speak Up for Change’ for everything they’ve done for me and the rest of us borrowers. With their constant support, I firmly believe that coexistence is possible, and look towards a future where humans and borrowers can acknowledge one another as equals.”
“In Japan, we’re seeing the most radical change.” The anchorman continued. “Following a nationwide protest led by Borrower rights activists, Arrietty and Sho, a new bill was signed by the federal government legalising borrower-human marriage within the Shikoku and Kanto regions. The celebrity couple have already announced their wedding plans, and encourage other inter-species couples to do the same.”
“It makes me sick.” Her father growled, chasing the statement with a swig of beer. Brooke closed her eyes and fumbled with the set of earphones in her hoodie pocket. She’d been wondering when it would start.
“We are living proof that love is love, no matter the circumstances. While, as a human-borrower couple we are faced with more challenges than most, we believe that no healthy relationship comes without them, and it’s time for everyone out there, borrower and human alike to embrace our differences and feel pride in who we are—"
“Brooke, dear, will you turn off the TV?” Her mom called pleasantly, not taking her eyes off the bolognese sauce she was stirring on the stove.
Wordlessly, Brooke fetched the remote and turned it off, silencing Arrietty’s speech mid-sentence. Her father continued to stare daggers at the now blackened screen, his lips curled into a seething frown. With a sigh, she settled into the beanbag in the corner beside his growing pile of empty bottles, knowing exactly what was coming. Just as she was plugging in her earphones, her father spoke up.
“Those fucking pests.” He growled, slamming his fist down onto the coffee table. His eyes were glassy and speech slurred as he spent yet another night far from sober. “Actin’ all high an’ mighty like they run the place. Should’ve just stayed in hidin’, if you ask me.”
As usual, her mom took her time to respond, continuing on with dinner preparations as though nothing out of the ordinary had just transpired. It hadn’t, really. “Honey, we’ve been over this. Nothing you will say can change the outcome. Just think of this all as an opportunity. A fresh start.”
Brooke closed her eyes, feeling her father tense up at the words. These days, life in the Tucker family was like the rerun of a cliche soap opera.
“Y’think I don’t know that, Sandra?” He snapped. “I work for a company for how many bloody years just to have the rug pulled out from under me! And while I have to work tooth and nail just to put dinner on the table every night, those little leeches get by by mooching off of us!”
“You haven’t worked a day since the trial.” Her mom reminded him gently.
“Don’t give me that—you know what I mean.” He ran a hand over his forehead, drink sloshing around. “It just pisses me off. Since that fucking video went up, everyone thinks I’m a psychopath. I ran into Lisa and Paul the other day and they just gawked at me like I was the bloody scum of the earth!”
“Which is exactly why we moved, honey. Like I said, this is a fresh start. For all of us.”
“Fucking bullshit it is.” Her father finished off his beer with a rage-induced gulp and slammed the bottle down onto the table. “Because of those little bastards, I’ve lost everything!”
Brooke heaved a sigh. It was too early for this. “I’m going out for a bit.” She announced, before he could continue. Both parents froze, her dad looking across at her with those glazed, vengeful eyes. Honestly, the sight made her want to gag.
Her mom was the first to recover. “Okay, sweetie. Just don’t stay out too late, okay? Dinner’s almost ready.”
She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah.”
It wasn’t like there was much else to do outside, anyway.
Brooke tugged open the front door and stepped into the dingy hallway, appraising it with bored eyes. The apartment block didn’t have much going for it in the ways of tourist appeal. It was just another run of the mill flat on the outskirts of the city, where struggling pensioners and the lower class lived out their days. As they were now, the Tucker family would blend in like peas in a pod.
How the tables had turned.
The apartment had four floors, all complete with the same beige walls, worn grey carpet and moth bitten curtains. There was an elevator, but the landlady—a twig thin woman with wiry black hair and chipped fingernails— had explained that it had been out of order for months. To reach her destination, Brooke took the stairs.
When the moving van had pulled into the street that morning, she’d noticed something interesting about the apartment besides its outdated features: it had a rooftop balcony. So, with renewed vigour, Brooke set to climbing the four flights of stairs to reach the top floor. Sure enough, at the end of the musty hallway, there was a wooden door marked ‘To Roof’. With a quick glance to make sure she was alone, Brooke turned the knob and peaked outside.
She wasn’t sure what she was expecting. It was empty for starters, not just of people but of anything. No table or chairs or lighting; just a vacant slab of concrete framed by a rusted metal railing that would probably fail every safety inspection under the sun.
It was perfect.
Left alone with her thoughts at last, Brooke leant against what she deemed to be the sturdiest part of the railing, which gave her a decent vantage point to peruse the street below. The view was about as unremarkable as the apartment itself. It was one of those neighbourhoods that she and her old friends would’ve turned up their noses at, once upon a time. The few actual houses in sight were butted against each other like sardines, most with cracked paint and overgrown gardens. There was an old diner, a convenience store and tobacco joint further down the road by the bus stop, but really, most of the view was obscured by the same dingy apartment blocks. She supposed that was what her family got for moving from their white picket fence neighbourhood to the outskirts of the city.
Brooke let her gaze trail down to the sidewalk below, watching a group of people file out of a bus. The last passenger to exit caught her eye, mostly because he proceeded to lug a rusted bicycle out the door behind him. She frowned for a minute, wondering why the guy hadn’t just ridden the bike home, when he turned around and a flicker of recognition caught her eye.
Was that…?
She groaned. Just great.
Kaleb Finch.
He was pushing the bike along the sidewalk now while he talked to one of the other passengers, and Brooke had to look away. The way he carried himself, so confidently and with all that false bravado; it made her want to puke. She watched as he sauntered out of sight, grateful that she’d decided to come up here instead of exploring the streets below.
Just my luck that he lives in this neighbourhood.
Brooke turned her back on the view, sitting against the railing with her knees drawn to her chest. It didn’t matter how many times she’d tried to blot it out; tried to wipe the slate clean and move on with her life. His taunting voice remained branded into her memory, a permanent reminder of everything that had happened in two short months…

“Check this out, guys.” Brooke looked up from her chapter book as Kaleb Finch strolled into the classroom, holding up his phone. “That guy in that viral borrower video? Turns out he’s Brooke Tucker’s dad. What a sick fuck.”
A handful of students gathered around him, watching in horror as the video played out on the cracked screen of his phone. She didn’t know how he’d got a hold of it—the video had only been up on Youtube for about two hours before it was promptly deleted due to its ‘ideologically sensitive content’—but the damage had already been done. Her entire homeroom class couldn’t take their eyes off the grainy footage of her father loading a family of borrowers into a gas chamber, where they struggled and writhed until eventually, stopped moving at all.
Then, their collective gaze shifted to her.
“I knew your family was fucked up, but this takes it to a whole new level, girl.” Amy Snyder was the first to speak up, swishing her perfect blonde hair. “Come on, spill it. How do you even sleep at night?”
Brooke swallowed from her seat, forcing herself to focus entirely on reading, but Kaleb had other plans. When she didn’t respond, he snatched the book out of her shaking hands and slammed it down onto the desk next to her.
“Yeah, spill it, Brooke.” He pressed, earning him a bout of snickers from the rest of the class. “I heard your dad’s been gassing borrowers out of peoples’ homes for years. It’s already fucked up enough that he got to walk away from it all with a slap on the back and a fine. If you ask me, a crime like that should be put on the same level as murder.”
“Yeah, totally.” Amy agreed breezily. “I can’t believe I have to stay in the same class as his daughter.”
“You’re not a psychopath too, are you, Brooke?” Kaleb taunted. “I’ve heard that kind of thing’s hereditary.”
“I’ll bet she’s already in on it, I mean look at her. Her dad probably lets her kill them himself. Snap their tiny little necks.”
“Oh, yeah, you’re right about that.” The words were out of her mouth before she even knew she was talking. Brooke rose from her seat, both hands planted on her desk as she addressed the people who, until that morning, she’d considered her friends. “But honestly, outright killing them is boring. I prefer to snap off their little arms and legs first, just to watch them squirm.”
For a moment, the entire class was silent. Brooke could feel her throat tightening in panic, as tears welled in her eyes. In the span of five minutes, she’d gone from being a mild-mannered, respected classmate, to an abomination, standing on the same bloodstained pedestal as her father. All that retaliation had accomplished was adding fuel to the fire.
“Did you hear that?” Kaleb looked outright disgusted. “The apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it Brooke? You belong in the same loony bin as your dear ol’ dad.”
His words had cut deeper than any wound ever had. He might have said more, but she was done giving him the time of day. With a hollow sob, Brooke stormed out, feeling Kaleb’s scowl bore into her back.

Her father was an exterminator by trade, and had operated under Eradicate, one of the city’s big time pest control corporations since before she was born. She remembered his reaction when Flint Oakland had made his first public announcement ten years ago. There was never surprise, or wonder, or excitement in his eyes. Doug Tucker watched the news with a clenched jaw and passive expression; it was the face of someone who’d harboured the secret of the borrower race for years, if not longer.
As the daughter of a man whose family lived in a neighbourhood of doctors, lawyers and government officials, Brooke had often questioned why her father earned so much money for doing what he did. Now, the answer was obvious. Doug was paid for his silence by Eradicate’s higher ups, so long as he did what he was told. As it turned out, borrowers fetched a high price on the black market, and so long as they weren’t discovered, the seemingly innocent pest control company could do with them as they saw fit.
Doug Tucker was just one of many who bloodied their hands to get the job done.
Of course, things had changed in the last ten years. The kind of ideology that had been the forefront of Eradicate didn’t sit well in the eyes of modern society. Borrowers weren’t a novelty anymore, and as such, their demand decreased as with her father’s income. Orders to capture them alive shifted towards cheaper methods of disposal. For a time, life continued as normally for the Tucker family, shrouded as it was by the uncomfortable truth that their ‘normal’ was paid for by murder.
Brooke didn’t have a strong enough opinion on borrowers to discern whether her father’s actions were morally justified, but when all was said and done, it was just his job. It put money in the bank and food on the table. If people called Eradicate to request for the borrowers living in their house to be disposed of, her father would be the one to soil his hands and finish the deed. It just so happened that his latest clients had an ulterior motive, and before he’d even realised what had happened, a recording of him gassing a family of borrowers was already circulating the net.
The only reason her father was drinking away his sorrows in their apartment downstairs instead of in prison for manslaughter was because the borrowers he’d ‘disposed of’ hadn’t registered themselves as citizens and were therefore unprotected by the law. Unfortunately, that fact didn’t prevent him from obtaining a criminal record and fine that the family couldn’t hope to pay off without selling their house. Of course, there were other factors that went into that decision too, such as the waves of horrified borrower-rights activists that were suddenly showing up at their doorstep and shouting death threats, but that was the brunt of it.
So now, the Tucker family lived in an area almost befitting of her father’s shady past, but it wasn’t just him that was paying the price. At school, Brooke had officially ascended to social outcast status; someone her classmates would scorn upon instead of try to understand. Her mother had lost her job in social work following her manager’s claim that the knowledge of her husband’s crime would be ‘inappropriate’ for the workplace. The trial had been weeks ago, but to Brooke it felt like they’d lived this way for years. Days seemed to pass so much quicker when there was nothing memorable about them.
She imagined the next day would be the same, too. More of her father’s grumbling, and her mom pretending all was well with the world even though her family was falling apart. More of the disgusted stares from her peers in class and Kaleb Finch’s stupid mocking face. Brooke replaced her earbuds in her ears and rested her head on her arms, staring blankly out at the hazy sky.
God, she was sick of it.

Post s2, Ava and Deborah have a reunion after +- one year without any contact. What they know about each other's lives is what they hear from mutual friends and Jimmy. Until one day when Deborah overhears someone (either Kiki or Marcus or even Josefina) saying that Ava is planning on proposing to Ruby. Which then leads her to text Ava (I don't think she would send a letter lol) asking to see her. They meet in a restaurant and have a conversation kinda like the one Carol had with Therese in that final scene. Whether Deborah says "I love you" or invites Ava to move in with her and all the rest of it is up to you.

In the latest season 10 reunion episode on Wednesday, Sandoval shocked his co-stars and fans with a 'disgusting' remark about his sex life with Ariana.
The drama started when host Andy Cohen asked the 40-year-old reality TV star if he had slept with anyone else since his affair with co-star Raquel Leviss, 28 — which caused the end of his longtime relationship with Ariana — began.
He said there was nobody else — a statement Ariana didn't agree with, as she replied: 'You know who he did sleep with after him and Raquel started sleeping together? Me.'
Sandoval — who previously complained about the pair's intimacy issues during an interview with Howie Mandel in April — replied: 'Yeah, she kept her T-shirt on. It was really hot.'

Previously the 40-year-old described his relationship with Ariana as 'more of a best friend/family/sometimes roommates situation' on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast.
The Missouri native said their relationship overall was 'just lacking intimacy' and 'connection.'
He felt that they were remaining together to 'keep the optics up that [they] were solid' for their reality show and other business endeavors.
'We did have each other's backs, for sure, and that was nice. There was a safety to it and a stability,' he said of Madix.

S3 Picard & S1 CSI: Vegas
This is a repost from my cohost account! Major spoilers for Star Trek: Picard, minor spoilers for Star Trek: Discovery, and all of the following outbound links are to a character's fandom wiki page.
i, uh, like trash tv. it's a problem. i was recently doing a rewatch of the hit FOX tv show 24 because that show is way more unhinged than i remember, even from the beginning. CW's The Flash is must-watch tv for me, i drink my coffee out of a mug with The Flash on it every thrusday when i watch the new episodes.
in my quest to watch more trash tv, i remembered there was a new CSI show out, CSI: Vegas. CSI is prime Josh Trash TV, it's a show i used to watch with my mom when i was growing up that we both agreed was trash (me a bit more than her) and we watched anyways because it was a thing to watch when it was on. not so much "must-see" tv, but more "must-observe". "must-study"? whatever lol
CSI: Vegas is a continuation of CSI, taking place in the same setting (Vegas) and includes fan-favorite characters like Grissom and Sara from the original series. it also introduces a whole new cast, who get a ton of time to bounce off of old favorites while also defining themselves.
the interesting thing is that the "gimmick" of the new series also builds on the formula of the old series, and plays with the tropes of copaganda procedurals. in the old series, there would be about two cases per episode. characters would get split down the middle to take on the two cases, doing their investigating and finding evidence and so forth, while also occasionally coming together to give each other inspiration. usually the seasons are monster of the week style, every episode's cases are unrelated, but longer character development happens over each week to tie the series together.
in CSI: Vegas, the setup is similar. one case is monster of the week, a place for the new characters to stretch their legs and get their development. the second case is about the season-long mystery: did David Hodges fake all the evidence that he came up with during the events of CSI?
it's a neat premise! a less-trash tv show would probably read the room of Current Political Happenings of 2021 usa and just go for it: yeah, of course the cop faked all this shit, that's what happens. you'd still fall into copaganda stuff, because then the premise of the show would be "the Good Cops have to put the Bad Cops away", but at least it would be a little different, a little more interesting. regardless, it's a neat premise that allows for a lot of old characters to come up and for nostalgia to be farmed, while also progressing the new characters.
also, aesthetically, the show looks like old CSI. like, it's touched up, things look more "crisp" in the Streaming TV Era (this is a CBS streaming TV show, after all) but it's still like. pun or one-liner that leads into The Who song *Who Are You. when they Do Science there's some goofy, over-the-top CGI animation of chemicals and wounds and all that stuff. even "weird" shots are still there? something about original flavor CSI is that they'd make it look nice. if someone was rebuilding a crime scene in their lab, or doing a lot of large-scale monotonous work, there would be some interesting way to show it off. in the first or second episode they do the same type of stuff, they're marking a burned-down pawn shop into quadrants and cataloging everything, and it's one of those sweeping time-lapse shots that you'd see on Tested when adam savage is building something.
that's a lot about CSI and CSI: Vegas, but what does this have to do with Star Trek: Picard?
see, S3 of Picard is kinda attempting to do something similar, except they're failing spectacularly. the general thrust of S3 is that starfleet is under attack and must be stopped by the Next Generation cast and friends. that, i think, could be a neat premise. sure, they announced S3 was going to be a Next Generation reunion season in the middle of S2 while the characters were doing time travel shenanigans to save the universe (it doesn't matter) so we knew that this adventure didn't matter in several ways, but okay. neat premise, brings everyone back for one more paycheck to play these characters again and hopefully provide a good season of something like Star Trek: The Next Generation.
right? like, you wouldn't say "here's the cast of Next Generation going on one last, big adventure" and not play to the strengths of the tv show Star Trek: The Next Generation, right? you'd want this show to feel like Next Generation but with a modern budget and effects, right? right?
reader. i have some bad news.
see, Star Trek: Picard is setup like Star Trek: Discovery. i don't have a problem with the structure of Discovery, but it leads to some storytelling choices. the strength of Discovery is that each weekly adventure can be mildly self-contained, but also can be moving a larger plot forward. this week we're learning about a new species in this part of the galaxy, and this adventure with them will help us get closer to figuring out who that red figure is. where Discovery falls apart is when it spreads itself too thin, and each episode of the season feels like Part 5 of an arc that could have been two episodes at most. "what's beyond the milky way galaxy" is a two-episode arc in other Star Trek shows, not a season-long question that we're slowly coming closer to an answer for in Discovery. ya know?
anyways, the first four episodes of S3 Picard are answering "what's goin' on with Beverly Crusher and her new son", which is a weird question to ask in Picard because they haven't acted like the character existed up until now. some episodes of S1 & S2 dealt a lot with "can Picard love anyone?" and seemingly left out a very relevant character from that discussion. you do see her freak son once in S2 and he looks like he's hosting the aftershow talk show (it doesn't matter).
but that driving force for those episodes is a two-parter at best. 4 episodes? that seems a bit poorly paced. that's cause it is! there's another thing going on, where Raffi is on an undercover mission to find out who stole some portal tech and used it on a starfleet recruitment building. Worf is also there. Oh, also Ro Laren is there for an episode. oh, and now the changelings from DS9 are a threat again, and are behind a huge, slow coup of starfleet. i dunno, it's all... blurring together.
also, nothing means anything in this show. at the end of S1 of Picard Picard dies and he gets put into a Data-style android and he's still old and will die of natural causes anyways, just when the actor himself passes. it doesn't matter, it's come up as a joke a handful of times since. at the end of S2 Picard Picard befriends the new borg queen, one of the main characters they left in 202X during the season's events, which allows for a new benevolent borg who wish to join the empire. it doesn't matter, hasn't come up since and seemingly is not significant this far into the season... despite the fact the reason new main character Liam Shaw hates Picard and people from his Enterprise-D is because Picard got captured and turned into Locutus of Borg.
it's the combination of nothing mattering and not using the strengths of the show you're obviously trying to reference and call back to that makes Picard a worse "nostalgia" show then something like CSI: Vegas, which is a wild thought to put online. now the thrust of the season is "what are the changelings up to" and i don't care, really. i want to know how it ends out of fascination, but i know it won't matter. nothing else has, events in one season of Picard don't seem to matter to the next season, so who can say if this will even matter to other Star Trek shows made after this. Discovery is now set, what, 1000 years in the future of what's happening in Picard that it will likely never come up. Strange New Worlds takes place after Enterprise but before Star Trek: The Original Series that it will also never come up there. this is the last season of Picard, so it's likely any relevance these 3 seasons of television have to the greater Star Trek universe dies at the end of this 10 episode season. by April 20, 2023 it's likely this show will not be relevant to the Star Trek stories being told, a meaningless addition that the shows itself will no longer reference. Star Trek: The Animated Series will be more important to the fictional setting and stories.
it's frustrating! i love this weird universe and their weird shows with my whole heart, and it's weird that CSI: Vegas, a copaganda nonsense show made for streaming platforms to get the coveted "olds who love Gil Grissom so much" audience, is doing this nostalgia bait in a way more competent way and (crucially!) a way more entertaining way. all they had to do was "more Next Generation but with more modern tv show sensibilities" and they fucked it up so bad!

It’s Motivation Monday!!! Sorry I haven’t done one of these in a while, I’ve just been busy, but now I’m back!!! Today it’s fic authors from the CK fandom - who I already sung the praises of on my main but I’m doing it again here!!!!! First of all I have to give a shout out to @emletish-fish, the author of ‘Good Boy’, which was the first CK fic I ever read and which sparked off my interest in writing for the fandom because it was just amazing and as I already mentioned on my main I read the whole thing in three days and it was absolutely worth the headache I got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another goes to @shrinkthisviolet - I’ve tagged her before but I’m tagging her again because her CK time travel AU is so good and I can’t wait for the next installment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then @justveeing and @iamtheremin who write excellent Lawrusso fics - and the former does some great fanart as well!!!!!! Another Lawrusso author I really love is @secondclassfangirl AKA mostpeculiarmademoiselle who recently finished a really brilliant Lawrusso fic!! @torishasupremacy writes Aisha and Tory and Sam so well, and also recently wrote a great Sam & Hawk friendship fic which tackled the messy latter half of S4 and made it so much better, and @afurioushawk who’s Hawk fics really get his character. @robbykeeneslawyer writes great Robby fic, and also has an OC whose story is in my Marked for Later list on AO3. And lastly @chozen-fang-do-karate also writes really good stories and they were doing a really good drabble series which seems to have vanished but they’re a great writer!!!
All your stories are awesome and I love seeing the differences between everyone’s take on the characters and yet all of them are in character. You guys truly are an inspiration to me and I look forward to continue reading your fics!!!!!!!!

So Interview With The Vampire is apparently airing? Or available on AMC+ now? A Twitter friend just tweeted about how good the 1st ep was. The time difference between America and the UK is crazy.
Here it's the 30th of September, 4am, and right now, the UK has no way of watching the show.😭😡
It is likely to be included with BT TV since their package includes AMC, but I don't have that, & it involves talking to them about wifi and getting a box etc. We don't get AMC+ here in the UK yet. And they've not said if they're giving it to Disney+ or Prime like they've done with other things.
So, I don't know when or where this show is coming out, and I honestly feel a little fucking cross. I'd just like to watch the gay vampire show without having to learn how to do piracy or do a million and one internet searches!
So I'm gonna block the tags for it, and also...TAG YOUR SPOILERS PLEASE! Thank you.

So my BatCat fic that I wrote and posted last night (Call It What You Want To) did really well and I've had 3 lovely comments on it!
This has inspired me to write another BatCat fanfic, but I'm not sure what to do for it! So, I want to ask you awesome people on here, should I write:
a) a reunion fic that follows Call It What You Want To?
b) just a random reunion fic, possibly with an identity reveal?
c) missing/extended BatCat moments from the movie?
d) identity reveal fic with Bruce Wayne & Selina interactions beforehand?
Let me know which one sounds best, cause I wanna write some more BatCat asap!

I am afraid to go into the Interview With The Vampire tags right now....I know episode 5 was a lot, and it definitely needed trigger warnings for sure, but I...
I hesitate to say I enjoyed it, but I found it interesting to watch and will keep watching the show, and I also don't feel that the wave of panic about Lestat's character being butchered is true.
Also the people crying about not being able to ship Loustat after this when a lot of you ship Hannigram.....do I need to explain?? Really?🤨
I just don't wanna see the hate and negativity, I just wanna see nice gifs and art etc. and I have a feeling I won't get that.

His new lover may be petty and vindictive, but he’d never leave Louis to die, not after everything he’d done to keep Louis with him so far.”
An extended cut of what happened between Lestat opening the gate and him carrying Louis up the stairs, and then a little extended cut of them after Lestat invites Louis into the coffin.

It had taken a few drinks to get them to this point, but Hob rarely got a chance to be open about his longer than expected history and eventually the talk came around to his centennial meetings. And what had happened at the last one in 1889.
“Wait a moment, let me get this straight- some powerful entity makes you immortal, meets back up with you century after century, and then on your sixth date you tell him he is lonely and say you are just friends? Geesh, no wonder the guy stormed off.”
“What- no- it wasn’t like that!” Hob sputtered as his drink came down hard on the table.
“Uh huh, sure- and in the 1500s you didn’t shove your wife and kid in his face only to get upset when he then went off with someone else?”
“...”
His friend just raised his eyebrow at him and went back to sipping his beer while thoughts chased themselves across the immortal’s face. When put like that…..
“Honestly I’m just impressed whatever he was just stormed off and you didn’t end up cursed or something. Powerful enough to give immortality without a noticeable drawback? Definitely powerful enough that breakups tend to spawn legends.”

Who is Hob drinking with? No clue, but someone who is supernatural or at least involved in the supernatural.
