Hunter had not particularly expected his friend to be so willing to switch abilities so shortly after he revealed he was magicless to him. In fact he was very much so caught off guard at how eager Eddy was to do so. A part of him wanted to protest the act because it was such a big thing but it was too late for that. He blinked as he noticed the difference in eye and hair color in Edrick change and he quickly fished out his scroll to turn on the camera and look at himself, noting the change in his own eye color to gold.

“I--Eddy are you sure about this? What about school or your parents?”

Obvious reference to lo-fi beats is obvious. I did flip the canvas though to save myself some headache with the background.

I feel like Hunter would enjoy studying for classes that he likes. I figure he'd like beastkeeping the most (outside of Wild Magic because... come on. They had to have introduced that class after the empire ended) Which is why I had him studying that in this. Hunter would totally just read ahead of what he's assigned and get super invested and then... oh shit when did it get to 3 AM?!

I decided to include subtle commentary on the importance of bees lmao. For those curious, this is what everything says

Textbook:

Firebees: Keeping and taming fire bees has been practiced since recorded history. They pollinate our crops and provide almost all our food. Food that witches and other beings need to survive. Firebees are absolutely crucial to our environment and way of life. Without firebees, society as we know it would collapse, worldwide famine would ensue, and death to all witches and demons would occur."

to be honest a friend of mine did point this out but, why didn't eda or lilith use their staffs more after losing their magic? they should still be able to use them if powerless people like luz, hunter, and caleb all can use staffs.

I know part of it was wanting them to use glyphs, which is fine, but technically there's no reason they can't just continue to do powerful spells with their staffs given since the curse shouldn't affect that aspect? It’s never been shown to affect eda’s usage of it, just her internal magic.

And it’s shown that palisman have their own internal magic since magicless individuals can use them.

Like the scene with lilith and hooty in Seperate Tides is great, but really, lilith should logically just use her staff to get the firebee honey and it’s more unusual she doesn’t try it.

The show really never provides any reason why neither sister uses their staffs again outside of flight, it's very odd.

You get a lot of great scenes. like how eda gets her harpy form, which seems like the exchange given for her loss of magic. But she has owlbert, and the palisman are treated somewhat like disability aids, so it’s weird he never came up much again when eda had become entirely powerless.

You don't think about it in the moment but looking back, i think the crew overlooked this aspect cause it is a bit of a plothole.

It’s not something that ruins the show mind you, but when you think about it it means there were a lot of situations they could of still used staff magic to get out of and the show and characters just completely ignore the idea without giving us a reason for it.

I haven’t posted in a while. Have my TOH Headcanons:

Eberwolf is the only one allowed to touch Darius’ cloak. Anyone else so much as tries and they’ll be inches away from death via abomination scythe

Eventually Hunter becomes the only OTHER person besides Eber who can touch Darius’ cloak

Eber loves to piss off Darius. But they’re still mindful of Darius’ boundaries so before Eber climbs onto him, they’ll wipe off their shoes or whatever dirt they have on their body before

Darius greatly appreciates this gesture. Even if it doesn’t work and there’s still muck on his cloak after. He just won’t complain

Adrian is a St. Epiderm kid. I mean, just look at him. Though he only chose St. Epiderm because he thought Glandus and Hexside’s uniforms were trash.

You think Terra is terrifying? You haven’t met Miss Healer Witch. Hettie Cutburn is the most feared of the coven heads. You’d think someone with the title of “healer” would be caring but no.

One time Vitimir tried to trick her with a rat-transformation potion and he “went missing” for a week.

One time Adrian and Darius got into a fight and Adrian insulted Darius’ work ethic.

Eber: No one messes with my big brother unless it’s me!

Adrian found a swarm of firebees in his room that day. He came to the next Coven Head meeting covered in horrible red swollen bumps. God forbid he goes to Hettie to heal him.

Cue Darius and Eber smirking at each other.

Adrian has a boyfriend that lives in Bonesborough that is the definition of sunshine. Lower class, but a loveable dork nonetheless. Not the Adrian would ever tell anyone that.

Adrian is a Maladaptive Daydreamer. His biggest triggers are mirrors and movies

More angsty one: Terra had a wife that died of natural causes. She never remarried again.

Shadow Puppets -Summer memories

I was cleaning out my wips and found the sketch dump from a couple months back, and decided to finish up the one of them hanging out in the tree. It was initially based on a particular scene we were writing at the time, but after rereading it, I decided the vibes don't really match enough to include an excerpt. To summarize:

This scene is actually set before they sneak out after curfew to catch fireflies (in which absolutely nothing goes wrong, by the way) part of the conversation just making their plans and Philip vaguely remembering his mother teaching him how to catch fireflies, while Astrophel tells him about the Firebees of the Demon Realm.

Wow, I think these have been in progress since before I moved...

A lance (and a spare, because their own lance isn't ready yet) of Capellan Red Lancers!

From right to left, a Sha Yu, a Lu Wei Bing, a Shen Yi, a good old Wolverine II, and a FireBee.

The Sha Yu's arms have been kitbashed a bit, to be different enough to call a SYU-6B

Kinda sick of the scheme now, I'm probably going to finish up the last lil mech and leave it at a demi-company instead of a full one.

AU where after EaE, Beardo Philip stumbles into a time pool and was able to find himself back to the human realm.

Then he and Camila meet and hit it off while Luz was still in the BI.

So by the time Luz returns home, Camila and Philip are already together.

Camila and Beardo Philip: (They're kissing, cuddling, going out on dates, doing the do a bunch of times (lol), and are overall living their best lives together).

Luz: (She's still stuck in the Deadwardian Era, trying to find a way home while also trying not to get eaten by Stonesleepers or stung by firebees. Is doing the complete opposite of living her best life.) How was Philip able to survive all this?!

...

Luz: (Bursts through her front door with a beard.) Mom! (Tears the beard off her face with ease.) I'm back! ... Ow. (Rubs her face. She hears Camila giggling in the living room. She gasps.) Mom!

(Runs into the living room and immediately stops in shock at what she sees - a pregnant Camila sitting beside Beardo Philip on the couch. She gasps, glaring at Philip. Points at him.) YOU! What are YOU doing here!?

(She rushes up to him and tries to shoo him away.) Get away from her! (Turns to Camila.) Mom, are you okay? I-- (Sees Camila's plump stomach.) Oh my Titan, what is (points at her belly) THAT doing there?! Is... is that his?! Please tell me it's not! It can't be!

Oh no... (She slowly backs away from the both of them, terrified.) I must be in some nightmare dimension where all of my worst fears are coming true! (Falls to her knees and looks up at the ceiling.) Nooooo!

About Event:

Luz is now a demon living in the Boiling Isles. Actually she’s always been a demon! This is how she’s always been. Imagine all the shenanigans that could happen now! At least considering how different her life is compared to Luz the Human.

EXTRAS:

This Blog’s Hunter will play a minor role when needed in this event but is not the main focus.

Camila will be implied to also be living in the Boiling Isles

Canon events will be rewritten as if Luz is not a human at all. Any other muse could take the place of the human, or no human could be involved at all. Up to you. But Luz will not not know anything about ever being human.

Threads for the event may be continued after the events end but any new threads made will be not be tagged as event threads.

This event will later become a full au verse once the event is over. If you wish to be a part of this au’s canon events, feel free to ask! I do not mind and I am not exclusive in any kind of way
