Beardo Philip gets wounded by protecting Luz and Camila from someone and Camila thanks him while patching him up afterwards

Aww, yes!! 💕 💕 💕 🥹 🥹 🥹

(Bonus points if he still retains some of his monster characteristics while in his human form, such as his green horns sticking out of his head and one glowing blue eye).

As Camila tends to Beardo Philip's wounds, she says with a dejected look on her face that she's terribly sorry that Philip got hurt and wishes that she could have done something.

Philip, with an understanding smile on his face, assures her that it's alright, gently cupping her cheek.

He then conveys to Camila that there were no options for her to take action in that situation and that he's just thankful to see that she and Luz are still safe.

When it comes to them, he's willing to put himself in harm's way to protect them.

After applying a hydrocolloid patch to Philip's bruised arm, Camila placed her hand on top of the gentle one that was currently holding her cheek (his) and expressed her gratitude with a soft smile.

So, I kind of have good and bad news :c

The good news is I updated 'Was Not The Hero' after months of not doing so. Bad news is, it is a short chapter and... the story is either taking a long hiatus, or very short chapters from now on will be published, or possibly - which I hope it doesn't happen - i stop writing more chapters for it :c

I've been going through stuff in real life and my all time fixation for Transformers has been helping me cope with things and because of that I have a hard time putting focus on "Was Not The Hero'.

I love the story I've written, but I don't want to force myself to write if it's going to come out terribly written without emotion : c. I rather just write out details of the events the story was going to have so peeps could idk, at least know what was going to happen so I don't leave you guys with nothing

I do want to thank you all for all the support you all have given me for this story. You peeps have all been great and I love you all. Thank you for the kudos/likes/comments/reviews/fanart/fanvideos. I legit cherish all the kind words you have all given me

Hmm, I do sound like I'm leaving, hahaha, but I will do my best not to. I am just saying things in case I do just stop writing for the fic : c

I'm a lunter shipper so I'm going to look through this episode with lunter goggles on.

Jealous Hunter is everything.

They doing this shit on purpose cause they know how strong Lunter is.

I know he deserves this shit, but I feel pity for him. Plus I want him at full power. He deserves to die at full power.

All hail Queen Boscha. I feel so stupid but I didn't realize that was kikimora till luz realized it. God I'm such an idiot. I knew they were bad but I couldn't figure out why. I honestly forgot about Kimora and assumed she was dead.

Overall the episode is ok. Animation good. Wish their was less huntlow bullshit, less crap about canon ships. Love luz. Love hunter. Love Boscha. Love Boschamity. Willow's whole thing was stupid. Wish their was fucking backstory for Caleb and Evelyn. LOVE Philip! Love eda king, Lilith and Hooty. Love what the collector did. Beautiful. Wish the isles looked like that actually. Love Matt and Gus. Hate luz's palisman but it's better than a fucking bat. Found it hilarious and feel horrible vindication that Luz, Hunter and almost everyone else looks so much more beautiful and Amity looks more ugly animation wise. Love king and I just want to keep him safe and God damn it let Eda king and luz reunite already! Overall ok episode. Some of it was worth the hype the rest trash and kinda happy that the next episode is going to be a while.

Luz in the suneye au?

Luz in this au isn't that much difference from Canon. Her personality and backstory is around the same. The difference is how she got to the ills.

After Luz got out of the principal office in the first episode. Luz and Camila were discussing ( more like arguing) about camp in the streets. When Caleb passed by and just so happened to hear their conversation. He suggested a different situation. He shows Luz and Camila the boiling isles. Luz is amaz by the isles. ( cause of the of the magic fan girl she is ) Caleb suggest that Luz be a transfer at hexsided and learns magic and fighting. Camila begrudgingly agree. Especially when Caleb said that he and his family will make sure she's safe.

From that moment on Luz lives at the owls House with Caleb, eda and Raine and a transfer student at hexside. Her relationship around the same. Raine is a prenatal figure to. Caleb becomes a father figure to her.

How Luz learned gliphs is also different. After a week at being at hexsided is wondering if how she can learn magic when she was human. She asked Caleb and eda of what to do. Caleb suggest a palimen cause that what he uses but eda said that she wasn't really yet so that was out of the question. Then eda remembers about gliphs and suggest that then looks at Caleb " why you looking at me for. " " you don't know ene. You fight in a war!" Eda said " never needed them " he shrugged " dage I wish I paid attention when uncle Phil substitute for aunt Rosie. " she mumbleed then it hit her. " why not ask my uncle Philip!" Luz was confused cause she's never even heard of this uncle before. " Philip wittesmith..he works at the graveyard..a janitor at your school. " then she has a realization. He was the creepy janitor that everyone talks about at school. " that creepy janitor that everyone talks about! That your uncle!" Eda nodded "yes though technically he's my grate- great - grade.... a lot of grate he's grandpa Caleb's younger brother. " then Luz eyes widen' he has a brother ' the thought as her eyes went to the old man" my relationship with my brother is complicated. We don't talk much. " eda then said " ene way. He's a genius at gliphs. He used them in the undead war. He's the perfect to teach you and don't were he's a nice guy when you get to know him."

The next day she went to find Philip after school. She was intimidated by him at first given his creepy ara. She followed him to the graveyard. " are you gonna say there squirt or are you gonna help ?" He said to Luz. For that whole afternoon she helped Philip with chores at the graveyard. While their doing chores Luz noticed that this isn't a usual graveyard. There all sorts of old mechanisms, weapons and a training area. The graves were not as sad as they were in the human realm. Philip Tell Luz of the history of the grave guardians and that he was the last one. Philip has Luz help him putting flowers at the graves. When they get to the clowthorn and wittesmith section of the graveyard. She ponts to Jacob graves asking who's that ( Jacob and jays graves are bigger cause they were heroes and founded a government.) Philip looks at her and says " that my son Jacob. He died a long time ago." She looks at the date it on the grave " it was around 300 years ago!" She yelled. Philip shrugged " older than I look squirt." " and the other one. " my nephew.. Caleb's son. Hunter but he went by Jay." Philip said. She didn't press further ' I need to asked Caleb about his age.' Luz thought

After the chores. Luz finally ask Philip if he can teach her gliphs. He said yes if only she can find the mane 4 gliphs. " how am I supposed to do that?" He gave a soft smile and said " just look up squirt." He said as he turned Luz head up to the stairs then she sees the light gliph.

After she that she finds the others and Philip teachs her gliphs companions and how to use a sword. She eventually sees Philip as a father figure to. Luz basically just gets adopted by the wittebane - Smith family ( and the clawthorns to but you know that ) I mean she gets invited to dinners. Rosie makes her lunchs with marry. Marry becomes like her big sister and who she goes to for relationship advice and other girl problems she can't really tell eda . Thorn offers to beat up anybody she doesn't like. Philip made her a sword with the gliph he uses on soulWalkers dearing the undead war. Cause he made all of his descendants weapons that way.

Her friendship are around the same. She's still friends with willow, Gus, and Amity ( though Amity is different in this au Heads up) hunter is a different story .....cause you know monsters for a calte. Same thing with King

She still ends up with Amity. But it's a little bit of a slow burn. ( a little bit not a lot. I mean this ain't miraculous levels here)

I like to think that the grief of her dad passing will be more present with her character in this au. Like it the reason she didn't go out of her way to make friends in the human realm. Cause your telling me that a girl with the personality like Luz won't have tons of friends. ( I mean she's someone I would hang out with). That's the most unrealistic thing about the owl house ( my opinion). She eventually to learn to cope with grief with her mom thank to the people around her. ( thought this is just a critique I have about her character that the show doesn't do well.ill try to dwell much on that)

As said she gets a cool sword. That she can put gliphs and combo in to use it.

She collect father's figures like Pokemon cards

I still really haven't thought of a way to include her more in this au. Like is she a mane character or not.. that sorte of jig. ( maybe cause I don't really find her all that interesting. Not that I hate her. I really liked her. I think she's a likeable protagonist.)

This ain't an official of what she dresses like in this au. But I envision her wearing a crop top and bell bottoms jeans with stars. ( the reference photos.) You can't tell me that Luz ain't the type of girl who would wear crops top and bell bottoms. ( this is Old art BTW)

Sometimes, Camila forgets to take some food with her to work. She use to do this ALOT when she was younger because she had body issues. And it sometimes comes back.

So when she forgets her lunch, Philip comes to work with her lunch. He often sits and talks too and even helps out with some of the animals.

He often deals with reptiles, since he finds them fascinating.

When Luz got her first 🩸🩸🩸, Camila was out on a animal lecture in another city. Luz was panicking cause she thought she was dying.

After Philip helped her, he let her sleep in his Camilas and his bed, and wrapped her in her favourite blanket and cuddled her.

Gimme a spinoff called Lost Hoots. A show that goes through all the theoretical adventures we could have gotten if the show hadn't been shortened. Hunter's Possession Scenes and the Theme of Enmeshment

The usual warnings: explorations of trauma and abuse ahead.

Enmeshment happens when there is the lack of boundaries and lack of defined roles in a family system, and the party with more power, usually the parents/caregivers, prevents a child from becoming their own person independent of the family (this is called individuation or differentiation). Enmeshment leads to a low level of individuation/differentiation because the kid will suffer negative consequences if they try to do so. Which sucks, because we need to become our own person in order to truly love and be loved.

Belos requires Hunter to follow a strict script

and only operate within the confines of the role of Caleb (more accurately, how Philip wants Caleb to be...so, not the real Caleb, though Belos has told himself that's the true version of his brother).

Amity went through similar with Odalia and has been in the process of breaking out of it too. I notice Luz and Willow also get a bit close to experiencing it with their parents: Camila initially getting Luz to conform, Willow's dads initially not allowing her to be on the Plant Magic track. But I need to make the important distinction where I think Belos and Odalia (with Alador enabling Odalia's behaviour while also being abused by her) really crossed the line, because they don't even allow the kids under their care to express their thoughts. They flat out dismiss whatever isn't fitting into their agendas, whereas I can trust that Camila, Gilbert and Harvey, who wound up remorseful about their actions and changing, at least allow their kids to voice their opinions safely and they are the kind of caregiver that'll at least say e.g. "I understand that you want X, but ______".

In enmeshment, the toxic parental figure does not know (or refuses to know) the boundary line where their own being ends and the being of their kid begins: this can lead to issues such as a parentified kid who has to manage the parents' emotions for them. Very sadly, this can also be why when these kids are well into adulthood, they are still terrified of their parents and regress into the same child-like responses they had as kids in their toxic parents' presence.

In the show, I think the two visual concepts that most strongly convey the concept of enmeshment vs. trying to break away from it, are Hunter seeing Belos in the mirror and Belos taking control of his physical body:

Parental figures who are enmeshed with their child feel that their kid is them, has to be them, with the same desires, feelings, beliefs, perspectives...not a separate person. If not, the parental figure's own sense of security feels threatened. So if the child tries to create needed space or establish that boundary line by putting up resistance in any form, you get a tantrum/begging/manipulation/other toxic response from the parent (example: Hunter mentions wild magic in front of Belos and is physically threatened), which then aggravates the child's anxiety and wears down their mental health.

The parental figure takes up more space than they should have in the dynamic, while the kid is boxed in more and more. Obviously such treatment is hazardous and puts an awful strain on the person in the relationship who has less power.

Which brings us to Belos getting desperate enough to possess Hunter.

A.k.a. peak enmeshment, as Belos did not have any proper grip on his 'nephew' anymore, and turned things up to the max to exert control by literally inhabiting his physical being, giving him no choice but to do his bidding in the most forceful way possible:

Put simply, you aren't you when in the midst of enmeshment. The worse the enmeshment, the more imposing the control of the toxic parent/caregiver. And wow when I first saw this scene unfold before my eyes, I immediately thought of how powerfully this concept was being visually communicated via fiction. So unnerving. The crew and of course Zeno Robinson have been so good at bringing his enmeshment-related behaviour to life onscreen. E.g. the contrast below...Hunter cracking under the terror in the first few days of truly breaking out of enmeshment in the left-side frame below, versus the right-side showing his post-possession (very literally translated as post-enmeshment) grief which was so painful that simmering, volatile anger rose up in him to keep the pain at bay:

This gentle, kind-hearted kid never wanted this. The worst thing about going through that and resisting it by running away from the coven and the Isles, was that it culminated into losing his best friend.

His way out of the loneliness and isolation of enmeshment was finding his tribe and leaning into it for support and healthy closeness. There couldn't be stronger symbolism for the tension in Hunter's whole arc, between isolation (the abuse he suffered) vs. feeling like part of a family (a healthy "tribe") than this:

Wolves. Loving, nurturing pack animals. Who "make great parents". Yet we have the phrase "lone wolf" since wolves do occasionally navigate part of life on their own. Hunter is drawn to wolves because it strikes him right away, he sees himself (more accurately, the deepest desire of where he'd love to be) in the way such creatures usually live.

And the bonds in his pack became mighty. Hunter succeeded at building trust with the Hexsquad, getting nearer and nearer to the core of himself - while Belos didn't have a single trusting relationship with anyone and sunk lower and lower, getting further and further from himself as his self-deception only got worse. Hunter built up what can be referred to as "emotional equity" in his relationships, and he's so inspirational especially in the uncertain, risky early stages of doing this:

It's like repeatedly depositing into a bank account (both sides in a relationship need to do this, in a manner that both can agree on as fair) and building up the amount in said account with positive experiences and investing effort and time into the relationship. Various difficulties and conflicts that come along will take small or big chunks out of that bank balance. More serious incidents will obviously threaten to break the relationship apart and empty the account or send the balance into the negative. The bond between Hunter and his friends was strong enough to withstand the eventual traumatic loss that they all suffered:

In fact, he was already putting up a quiet resistance in Belos's absence (I'm relieved Belos didn't require that he be escorted on every single mission or be surveilled all the time in his own room, which would've granted him no privacy to express such thoughts), shortly after we saw him get unmasked:

Unfortunately, wrenching yourself free from the violating nature of enmeshment comes at a physical and emotional cost. It can no doubt be a long journey, an injurious experience, damaging one's sense of discernment of who to trust. It doesn't magically become bright and easy post-enmeshment because grief, confusion, emptiness etc are still present, just in different forms. Hopefully it is the intensity of all that which is reduced and well-managed.

The hope is that Hunter does not feel any impulse to want to over-isolate and hurt himself with concerning self-deprecating thoughts and engage in concerning behaviour (which could be a parallel to how he wanted to dig his own grave in Eclipse Lake), especially as he is still processing the moral injury of harming Flapjack and threatening the others while possessed.

is Hunter bi like his Uncle Philip maybe they could bond because of it?

Answer - I don't think they will talk about it much, at least not in the story as there is so much for them to go through before Hunter feels comfortable to talk to Philip about such things

2. What if Philip had a Grimwalker of himself how would he treat him?

Answer - Philip would most likely mistreat it worse than he did with Caleb's copies. I like to think Philip has deep self hatred so seeing a copy of himself would give him a way to lash out to someone more, especially someone who wears his face

3. Will there be kiss scene between Philip and Silas?

Answer - hehehe, maybe : )...
