Headcanon: Hubert Realizing He Loves You Would Be Like...

Hubert had never really thought about dating or getting married. He thought he would be devoted to one person and one person only: Edlegard. However, when he met you, everything changed.

He first noticed how his eyes drift to you when you are around him. He also finds himself searching for you in crowds. Hubert scolds himself for losing focus but finds he can't stop himself from ensuring you are unharmed after a battle.

Edelgard would notice a change in Hubert immediately. At first, she would tease him about his crush on you. Hubert would deny his feelings for you and try to keep you out of his thoughts. Edelgard would notice that Hubert would still perform all his duties to perfection, but something was different about him. Edelgard would push him to take you on a date.

It was after your first date that Hubert knew you were special. You seemed to understand him better than anyone else, and he knew he wanted to spend more time with you. After a couple more dates, Hubert would like to make it official: the two of you would be a couple.

It would take Hubert a long time to realize he loves you. At first, it would be an unfamiliar feeling that he would look forward to seeing you after a long day or the way his heart practically stops when he loses sight of you during a battle. At first, he would ignore these feelings, but then he would want to know why he was having those feelings. That research would lead him to the word love.

Once he realized he loved you, he wouldn't say anything to you right away. He would want to explore what he was feeling to make sure his love for you was real.

Hubert would find himself spending less time working. He would get everything done but wouldn't work himself into the ground. He would just want to spend as much time with you as possible.

Hubert would try to plan how to tell you that he loves you, but every time he was ready, something would come up, go wrong, or he would chicken out.

In one particular battle, Hubert's hand was forced. It was complete chaos. Hubert wasn't able to keep an eye on you and Edelgard both. He decided to stick with Edelgard but couldn't help but look for you between enemies. It was a tough battle, but eventually, it came to an end. Knowing that Edelgard was fine, Hubert began looking for you. He found you on the ground, injured.

Hubert immediately got help for you. He regretted leaving you alone during battle. He couldn't believe you were injured on his watch. You were severely injured, but the healers confirmed you would pull through. He knew he needed to tell you he loved you as soon as possible. He never knew that you could have been taken away from him so easily. When you awoke, Hubert was there with too many emotions to count swimming in his eyes. His first words to you were, "I love you".

i love how fucking weird the fire emblem three houses / hopes cast is. i love how it would (and it does!) take effort for them to understand each other's perspectives. i love how they clash and align. i love how through interpretation or headcanon that every character has the believable intelligence that grasping another's needs and motivations, even when they disagree with them, is not an unreasonable supposition. they're so diverse and fun.

it was the odd feeling in the back of your mind that made you speak up in the first place. or at least, you had thought so, their behavior certainly did nothing to ease your concerns, being distant and feeling like they were hiding something from you.

You almost wished you were a pious type, perhaps a prayer to the goddess would help you in someway, especially as the bad feeling lingered for much longer. instead you sucked it up, and confronted them. "i know you won't tell me what's going on, and quite frankly i don't know if i'll be able to understand either. but just, be careful, okay? whatever you're doing, don't get yourself killed."

Edelgard will barely hide her surprise at your words, but just barely. a part of her feels guilty for hiding her plans from you. but she had been planning this for so long. She'll wonder if you knew anything about her plans, and if so, how much? Would you remain at her side if she told you?

The princess sees that you're waiting for any kind of response, despite the worry of your expression, you patiently wait for her to answer. To say something, anything. At least in hopes that it will dispel any concerns or suspicions. But you know better than that when it takes a moment, only slightly, to finally come up with what she hoped was appropriate.

She's tempted to tell you, truly. Trusting you enough to get as close as she did, and to even let you in too. But any potential reaction of yours still worries her greatly.

While the thoughts continue to gnaw at her, Edelgard will instead she gives a graceful smile, one you know is facetious at best. Edelgard will also take your hand (if you allow it) giving what she hopes is an assuring squeeze, "It's nothing to worry about." She'll lie.

She'll lie and pray you forgive her when the day comes that you both stand at opposing sides of the battlefield.

Hubert, to no one's shock, is able to hide his surprise to your question far more adequately than Edelgard could. As someone who's learned to school his features into cool indifference in less than a blink of an eye. His eyes meet your own, an unspoken question underneath it all.

While Edelgard might have possibly hesitated in hiding the truth of her plans to her s/o, Hubert, on the other hand, is much more ready to lie in order to aid her majesty. (Red flag alert here, get outta there bestie /lh)

Maybe he'll feel a little bit guilty about the lie, but he's one of those "for the greater good" kind of fellows, so he won't feel as guilty for it when he thinks that what they're fighting for will help the world as a whole.

If there is an inkling however, to your allegiances shifting more towards Edelgard's, then maybe that's when he'll tell you the truth. But for now, he takes your words with what Hubert's version of a smile is (the corner of his mouth lifting only slightly). "I promise you I am no reckless fool," He hopes to assure, but he knows doubt when he sees it. So a much more foolish part of himself will try to enjoy the closeness he has with you while he can, before it's ruined.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet - Voice Actor Headcanons.

So here’s the latest update of this little series on my blog where I assign official voice actors to characters that don’t have them. I also did this with the previous title, Legends: Arceus.

I have to reiterate the same points every time, but it’s just so we’re all aware -

This is NOT CANON. These are HEADCANONS and are unofficial. It’s just a hypothetical situation. If the characters were voiced, this is who I imagine would voice them.

Every major character in both games is included here, so there are HEAVY SPOILERS for the game’s main storylines. DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME OR DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

I think fire emblem three houses should get a sequel. At least for Crimson Flower. Let me give you my pitch:

Imagine Edelgard winning against Rhea. Her, Hubert and Byleth rejoice and celebrate as they're destroyed the "decadent church" and brought order back to society . (This is their POV, not necessarily the truth).

Now, fast forward some couple hundred years. The Empire that Edelgard successfully made is now beginning to crack. Her successors have not been nearly as charismatic as her, and the cracks are beginning to show. One day, a rebellion forms; a rebellion hoping to destroy the empire. The rebellions are all put down, but there's only so long that can keep happening. There's rumours that Seteth and Flayn are involved in these new rebellions, but no proof. (Byleth spared them years ago, and it's now coming back to bite them).

Our main character for this game/story would be a Skywalker type figure (I don't watch star wars really, but I know the characters well enough to say this). Someone the rebellions leaders choose to rally behind.

To quote a comment I saw on one of my previous posts about this (I asked permission, but I'm impatient and wrote this before their response): "So you know that line where Dimitri says the Blaiddyd bloodline will live on even if he dies? There’s your main character". Thank you, @bummedoutbutstillalive you took my idea and made it a lot better. Thank you!

So there's my pitch for why I think Crimson Flower is ripe with potential for a sequel! I don't know if I have the writing skills to do anything with my idea, but I needed to share it! Thank you for listening!

Cindered Shadows Ch 4 & 5

Alright! Spoilers below for Cindered Shadows C4

BATTLE

For those of you wondering, yes, I'm still playing Warriors too, I just wanted to switch it up for the night.

Man, feels good playing some classic Fire Emblem.

So they're basically telling me, don't fight the thing. Which makes me want to fight the thing. But I only have 10 turns, so no messing around this time.

Not gonna lie, that was pretty fun. I feel like this was a pretty well-designed map. There was enough pressure to force me to get moving and enough enemy obstacles to make it challenging, but without making it impossible. Same with the turn count.

Dimitri MVP. Deserved. Him or Ashe or Yuri honestly. Though special mentions to Hapi and Constance for making short work of all the armored knights.

I just lost 30 smithing stones because my storehouse was full. I'm literally crying. Not really but ahhhhh. why.

STORY

More love for how goofy Byleth's answers can be here. I'm picking "I was pretty sure we were going to die." It's just hysterical picturing this "Ashen Demon," but in reality he's just constantly sure they're all about to die.

And no matter how many times I pick that no one believes me 😭

Aelfric's been kidnapped. That's the guy with the longish brown hair, right?

I like Yuri insisting they tell the church about it. Seems more sensible.

This letter lying around conveniently is a bit sus. Feels like a trap.

It would be super funny if Edelgard was the rat and she wanted the chalice for her conquest. I know that's not the case, but imagine.

CAMP

I'm still not used to Yuri's voice. It's so much deeper than he looks like it would be.

Ohhhhh, wait, wait, wait. Hapi says she was abducted once for someone's "twisted" experiments. Gotta be TWSITD, right? And she specifically says "her," so Cornelia likely over Kyrona. Because in Hopes she was nervous being in the Kingdom, worried she'd run into a "her." Must be Cornelia.

Mysterious Woman acting pretty sus.

Honestly, all this "Aelfric's sooooo perfect!" makes me a bit suspicious of him. The game is just pushing him as this totally pure dude a bit too hard, and there's got to be more to him then "saint."

Oh, hey, look, Claude and Dimitri hanging out again.

STORY

Alois is here now?? Finally someone found out what's going on? Because I'm sure by now Dedue and Hubert are getting ulcers.

Yuri we don't disrespect Alois in this house. You take that back.

Byleth can pick, "I don't know this man." 🤣😂

Overall, I feel like this game is doing a good job making Hilda and Linhardt feel relevant to the story, but everyone else feels tacked on.

So if we're visiting Rhea now, does that mean everyone came back up? I'm gonna call BS if Hubert and Dedue just let Edelgard and Dimitri go to this dangerous area without them.

Byleth is so uber special he unlocked the Chalice by himself! It's this kinda stuff that I don't like about Byleth.

Rhea be like, "Here, take some experienced knights to help unkidnap your beloved Aelfric and protect all the heirs to the existing kingdoms in Fodlan, who will for some reason participate in this too." Everyone, "Nah, let's do this ourselves! Who needs experienced knights and extra manpower to save someone we care about! Let's put all of Fodlan's future leaders at risk too while we're at it!" Rhea "Sounds good!" Like I know this is DLC, but there's only so much disbelief I'm willing to suspend.

And now Balthus is like, "Oh, you may be our great friend and trusted leader and we're in the middle of a crisis, but btw, how did you end up here?" Like, I know they want to explain Yuri's backstory . . . but, like, why didn't a Deer, Eagle, or Lion ask that? The writers could've tried a bit harder.

See, this is what I mean. Linhardt cuts in because his crest knowledge is important to the storyline, and the three lords also trail in because . . . they're the lords. Like, don't get me wrong, I love some more Dimitri content, but I feel there's a ton of missed opportunity here with Dimitri having a chalice around that could bring back the dead, new lore for Claude to learn, and new dirt that could get dug up on the church for Edelgard, but like, there's nothing.

So all 4 of the crests needed to unlock the chalice are in the wolves, hummm, this isn't suspicious - at all. Nope.

Constance being like, "oh, mine's a secret even from the Empire." . . . right in front of Edelgard. Not a secret anymore. See, this scene makes more sense WITHOUT Edelgard, who added nothing of substance and makes it more awkward being there.

Yuri is like, "no, this isn't suspicious at all." Actually, yes, yes it is. Dimitri's spot on saying they could've just stolen the chalice if that's all they wanted. There's more going on and Yuri's either unintelligent (or writing forced unintelligence) or deflecting because he doesn't want them to guess.

MAP

I have to run around and talk to everyone again 😭😭 I thought I'd get a level to play 😭😭 But it makes sense because we had back-to-back levels, and honestly, not mad about it because that's more tiny dialogue bits for characters I mostly like.

OMG, all the Ashen Wolves are standing around together and Hilda's just chillin there because, lamo.

Ohhhhh, Constance, asking if he's an ally or enemy??? She's the smart one, y'all, realizing how sus this all is.

WTF Linhardt 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 "It's like casting a line and thinking you've landed the Big One . . . but then you reel it in, and it's Seteth." 🤣😂🤣😂 Confirmed he gets the best lines. Has someone drawn fanart of Linhardt fishing Seteth out of the water?

Ashe asking good questions too, proud of my boy.

This rouge's like, "why hasn't the church done more to help?" Like, bitch, Rhea offered. Go ask the Ashen Wolves why they said no.

Both Claude and Dimitri are like, "there's something weird going on." Props to them. Don't blame Edelgard for being more hung up on Constance's reveals.

STORY

There's a connection between Byleth and Yuri? Did I totally miss that or did it come out of nowhere?

LAMO, I love Byleth's answers for this. Getting flustered about the "date," telling Yuri his smile doesn't reach his eyes (poor Claude isn't unique anymore), or just "not now." IDK which to pick, I think "not now" is funniest and lines up the most with what I've picked so far for Byleth.

Yuri's like, "meet me at midnight, alone." Either dude is thirsty or he should've added "unarmed and possibly drunk or drugged." I wouldn't trust Yuri father than I could throw him. And Yuri's not big, but I'm not even 5 foot so . . .

Rhea's letting it all play out in case Sothis wakes up?

Ashe's too precious, worried about Constance wanting to turn herself in to save Aelfric.

Edelgard, "you make Hubert look like a spring chicken." She just killed Balthus and Hubert in one sentence. I disagree, though, that whole "I've never even seen sunlight" look makes Hubert look older.

OMG METODY!!! Long time no see. I wonder what Edelgard thinks. Not gonna lie, he's not unattractive if you're into unhinged people.

Aelfric is so sus, "just flee! my flock!" Like, it's too much.

The sigh thing is so weird. Like, who wrote that?

The bird flew off with Balthus, but they're like, whateves, we got Aelfric 🤣😂 🤣😂

I'm going to lie, I think I just have to turn my brain off regarding the writing around some of this.

AELFRIC IS PLAYABLE??? That's a surprise.

GOD, I want to kill Yuri. Why the hell is he asking for more demonic beasts. Like, he literally spawned them in the middle of my units and nowhere near the enemy in some areas.

Man, I wish Edelgard was closer to Metodey and see if she had unique dialogue with him. But she's all the way over in the other corner.

Balthus MVP. Honestly, deserved. Dude was dropped in a corner by himself and never broke a sweat. I was worried at first, but he never even really got hit.

STORY

Wait, what just happened?

I knew it. I knew Yuri was sus. I'm sure he'll either redeem himself or is some kind of double-agent or something because he's playable, but yeah between diverting everyone from talking about everything and never telling his friends jack shit. . . like I said, wouldn't trust him for a second.

Which is funny, because they tried that with Claude, and I'd trust Claude a fair amount at least, but with Yuri they got that "smile doesn't reach his eyes" way more convincing.

And Aelfric was always suspicious as hell.

Byleth has this "I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed" face lamo.

Dimitri's worried about Byleth 😭😭, like y'all, Dimileth is a good ship and anyone who says otherwise can eat shit.

Edelgard is like, you must be wounded. Byleth's like, no. What was the point of that dialogue?

Oh, so Edelgard actually got a line. Dimitri had the worried line, Claude had the figuring out line, so Edelgard needed . . . something.

RHEA! She figured it out. #Girlboss

I still need a fanfic where Dimitri struggles with using the chalice to bring back all his dead . . . everything. Ohhh, make it post-TS too when he thinks Dedue is dead for max pain.

Dimitri's so pissed off that the wolves are in danger.

So what does Rhea mean it can "breathe a spirit into a body" but can't bring back the departed? Like a body swap sort of thing? I get how that works for her plans for Sothis to come back, but how would it work elsewhere? And no, not at all wanting to know because fanfic. /s

So who is Aelfric trying to bring back to life? Not Sothis.

Rhea's like, "it's a serene, peaceful area," and Byleth can be like "the kitchen" channeling his inner Raphael or Ingrid, I see. I'm soooo picking that one.

This idea has been scratching the back of my brain for the last few weeks, so here's the first post in a series of posts:

The cast of Fire Emblem 3 Houses as Pro Wrestlers:

The Lords:

Dimitri Alexander Blaiddyd: the Saviour King? The King of Delusion? The Boar? Whatever epithet you prefer for him, there's only one wrestler I can think of who is as tough, good looking and incredibly polarizing as he is: the former Big Dog and current Head of the Table, Roman Reigns.

(I can 100 percent imagine post timeskip Dimitri yelling "Acknowledge me" in front of a crowd while the rest of the Blue Lions crowd around him like the Bloodline)

Edelgard von Hresvelg: the heir to the Adrestian throne, the Flame Emperor. Another character who can be very polarizing, her counterpart in pro wrestling is Charlotte Flair, a woman who has also benefitted from allying herself with the real villains in the story (in this case, The Authority during the Becky Lynch storyline).

(I wonder who in WWE could be the Hubert to Charlotte's Edie. Charlotte has never really had a strong pairing with any male wrestlers other than Bobby Roode and AJ Styles in the Mixed Match Challenge)

Claude von Riegan: CHANGE THE WORLD. These three words, spoken by the leader of The Elite, are also a goal for the Master Tactician, King of Unification and leader of the Leicester Alliance. Kenny Omega, one of the men responsible for the creation of AEW, is the single wrestler who best encompasses the role Claude plays in FE3H.

(This also applies to Claude in FEW3H. Heel Kenny Omega with Don Callis also matches the Almyran prince's more antagonistic streak in that game.)

Which house should I do this for first? Any thoughts, changes or suggestions are appreciated.

Vassal and Liege: A FE3H Meta

"So please call upon me when you walk alone at night. And even when you go out in the day, please tell me where you are going, and whom you are meeting."

I wanted to compare and contrast the two vassal-liege relationships in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Dimitri/Dedue and Edelgard/Hubert. They have some obvious commonalities: Dimitri and Hubert follow their lieges everywhere, they're overprotective, they're ride-or-die for life. But there's a lot about these two fealty relationships that's very different.

Consent

A huge difference between the two fealty relationships is how consensual they are. Neither of the relationships are 100% consensual in their power dynamic, but Edelgard/Hubert is far more consensual than Dimitri/Dedue. I don't mean that Dimitri is forcing Dedue into a power dynamic, by any means. Rather, for both Hubert and Dedue, the world and the culture that they live in has placed them into a vassal position, but that coercion is much stronger in Dedue's case than in Hubert's.

In Hubert's case, there's some amount of coercion he was raised from an extremely young age to be Edelgard's vassal. But when the Insurrection happened, we can infer that he was freed from that obligation as far as any of the nobles in Enbarr were concerned. At that point, I don't think anyone expected of him to be the left hand of a princess who was just a political puppet anyway. It's very clear in his supports with Edelgard and his B support with Dorothea that Hubert is free to leave her service at any time, and he chose to walk this path with her out of personal devotion because he believes in the vision she laid out before him.

I think for this reason, Edelgard is able to accept Hubert calling her Lady Edelgard and Her Majesty all the time and all his other little acts of service, in a way Dimitri struggles with; she understands he's choosing it. There's almost a BDSM feeling to it, where they have chosen their roles in this dynamic. The other Black Eagles all call her Edelgard without repercussion (contrast the Blue Lions who all feel pressure to call Dimitri "Your Highness"); Hubert chooses to call her Lady Edelgard and Her Majesty, much like a submissive may choose to call a dominant "Mistress" as part of a scene to symbolize the power exchange.

This is not to say that the relationship between Hubert and Edelgard is 100% consensual. Up until Hubert was ten or so, he was coerced into this dynamic with her, and it's hard to deny that that history plays a role in his choice to recreate that dynamic later.

But with Dimitri and Dedue, it's totally different. Dedue is being forced into the vassal role from multiple directions. Most importantly, he's liable to get hate crimed to death the moment he's no longer Dimitri's vassal. There's also the fact that Dedue owes Dimitri a life debt, and there's all manner of Faerghan culture he's internalized about what that means. Dedue hardly has a choice other than to follow Dimitri, and I think that that is a big part of why Dimitri is very uncomfortable with how Dedue treats him, with formality and constant service. Dedue didn't freely consent to this dynamic, and neither did Dimitri. It's very clear that they both wish their relationship were one of equals instead.

It's hard to imagine Hubert ever saying this to Edelgard. He is her vassal, but he exercises his own discretion about how to carry out her orders, as he explains in his B support with Ferdinand. Dedue and Dimitri both know that Dedue doesn't feel the same freedom to exercise his own discretion; later in their C support, Dimitri says he "gives leave" for Dedue to go. In his A support with Edelgard, Hubert is able to say that their relationship is not about titles, just about personal devotion, present tense. In his A support with Dimitri, Dedue says that titles and roles are essential in their relationship, but he dearly hopes that that will one day change, future tense.

Justice

Both Hubert and Dedue, like I said, were coerced to different degrees by the system they live in to become vassals. They both deserve justice for what was done to them. The other big difference between them is what their lieges are able to do to give them that justice.

Dimitri clearly wants justice for Dedue. They discuss in their A support that they both want to see a world where Duscurians and Fodlaners stand as equals. But while Dimitri's intentions are completely honorable, his methods can never actually achieve that goal. Dimitri aims to find the true culprits behind the Tragedy (the Agarthans), get revenge, and show the whole Kingdom the evidence that Duscur was innocent. That's not a bad step, but it's far from enough. The Duscurians lost their most fertile land to Faerghus in the genocide against them, and the Church still teaches that only Fodlaners are blessed by the goddess. The only way to achieve true equity between Duscurians and Fodlaners, and thus between Dedue and Dimitri, is to give the Duscurians their land back, and to end all the xenophobic doctrines of the Church. Dimitri shows no indication that he understands those things are necessary, let alone any intention to do them. But without them, just protesting Duscur's innocence, even with clear evidence, is slapping a bandage on a gushing wound. It's tragic because Dimitri has the power to enact the real change that would help Dedue, but not the perspective to know how to use it.

Hubert was raised to be a vassal because of the noble house he was born into: the Vestras are the Crestless, landless counterparts to the royal, Crested line of Hresvelgs, raised from earliest childhood to serve them in vassalage. Hubert never asked Edelgard for justice for how he was raised. But Edelgard gave it to him anyway. Her goals include dismantling the nobility and ending the supremacy of Crests. Without nobility and Crests, there's no noble House Vestra, and no need to raise any more Vestras to be vassals. Edelgard is out to break any semblance of a shackle binding Hubert to her, and her vision for Adrestia and Fodlan is one where no child ever again has to be raised for servitude the way Hubert was.

WIP Game!!

So "Have you ever kissed a boy, Peggy?" is my very first contribution to Remy's STAE verse! It's Beej/Peg flashbacks to worldbuild and set up a lot of stuff that Beej and Peg, the codependent traumatized high school sweethearts, keep under lock and key or just don't elaborate on.

There needs to be some serious edits because since starting it, Remy and I have done a lot of planning re: Beej and Peg growing up in the Depression and Peg's family migrating from Oklahoma to California during the dust bowl. But for everyone's sapphic Peg needs, please enjoy a snippet of her about to engage in the classic trope "Best friends practice kissing and uh oh, one of us realizes we're queer"

“I guess I’ve just been…in shock? I didn’t really expect to get asked out.”

“Now that’s just silly,” Peggy retorts, looking away only to tap her fingertips against the nails of her other hand. No smudging. “You’re the prettiest girl I know!” An exaggeration, but only slightly. There were girls who puberty had hit harder and faster than Peggy or Mary Ellen - girls with the figures of movie stars and the smiles straight from toothpaste commercials. But Peg maintained her best friend was beautiful. Hazel eyes that sparkled green and gold in the summer, with the slightest smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks.

She knew Eddie Carlisle. Peggy sat two rows in front and one seat over from him in her history class. He wasn’t bad looking, by any stretch of the imagination. He had a crooked, boyish smile and messy brown curls that he constantly had to sweep from his eyes. But there were days when the only way she could differentiate some of the boys at her school were by height or hair color alone. Eddie was a perfectly fine boy in a school full of perfectly fine boys.

“He’s just lucky you said yes,” Peggy retorts after a pause, giggling when Mary Ellen launches a tube of lipstick at her.

As for the black eagles ot4, I'm unsure how familiar with Fire Emblem Three Houses you are but Protag/Girl Who Wants To Kill Jesus/Her Right Hand Man/Token Bisexual Actress is my default quad. And I was just feeling my wheatiess with them one day and scribbled out a little modern au for them! Something something intimacy through existing around each other in fluid harmony

Please have local rat man prosecutor annoyed that his opera singer girlfriend and his bodyguard girlfriend wake up in the middle of the afternoon. (tw bruises mention)

The sizzle of battered bread frying acts as an alarm for Byleth, as the sounds of cooking often do. The way to that woman’s heart was most assuredly through her stomach. Unlike Dorothea, Byleth cared little for the luxuries of more feminine sleep clothing. She emerges from her room, rubbing at cobalt eyes with the heel of her palm. Her sports bra and a pair of boxers - whether her own or an old pair of Hubert’s, no one remembers - show off fresh bruises that cause the attorney to narrow his eyes. An eventful night at the Golden Deer, it would seem.

He opens his mouth to inquire about the blemishes but Byleth cuts him off with a sharp, prolonged yawn. “Morning, Hue. Morning Thea,” she greets, the sleep still clinging to her voice.

“Do neither of you wear a watch?” Hubert remarks instead. Byleth muffles another yawn with her hand but her eyes sparkle with mirth.

For no reason at all I'm just gonna type this out.

I am honestly lost with the universe of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Like... There is way too much going on, storywise, lorewise, and gameplay wise. Also like... Who really is the bad guy in this world? Is it the slither in the whatever people or is it Sothis? Or is it Edelgard or Rhea (which personally, I don't like them both- that's a me thing).

Also is Byleth a vessel of Sothis? Or are they Sothis? Because it's like they have her memories and shit. Like is Byleth even their own person?

The storyline mostly focuses on Dimitri vs Edelgard, the blue cat and black bird houses. And then there's Claude. Who's... Honestly he's just there. With his own agenda that is noble but feels completely out of place. It feels like he was written last second.

Then there's the gameplay that is too much to take in. Get supports with characters with battling and tea parties and lost items... And probably other things I don't remember. You don't want this character to die in the Timeskip? Make yourself train in everything to recruit into your class.

... That's another thing.

Why did you make me a teacher? Like... Seriously? Byleth is twenty years old when the game starts. With a title of Ashen Demon because they're an emotionless monster in the battlefield. Has lived their whole lives with mercenaries. And yet they magically know how to be a teacher? Why couldn't they just make Byleth part of whatever Catherine and Shamir do? Also can you imagine how these noble parents thought when they learned a merciless mercenary is their child's teacher 🤣 in reality that'll give the Church- especially Rhea- bad name, just saying. Even Seteth was like "Fucking- why?! What are you doing?!"

I dunno... I dunno I see Three Houses like this giant fancy feast. Yet there's so much going on- the flavor is gone.

One thing I will give this game is the characters, the characters in this game are well done. Well... Some I don't remember. Some for me stick out more than others.

... But, I think we can all agree here that the one character who is boring and has no personality. Is that kid that's loyal to Rhea and runs around doing shit for her. I'm not even going to bother looking up his name.

I don't know where this post is going but I wanna talk about the three royals of the three houses. Dimitri, Claude and Edelgard.

Personally... I don't know how I feel about any of them.

I mentioned already I don't like Edelgard. I do understand what she's aiming for, but at the same time- she's doing it so stupidly. I get it, she's been through shit... So why is she working alongside the people that put her through that Hell in the first place? I'm sure she tells you but whatever it is, it still wouldn't make sense to me. Like... Her first target should have been the people that ruined her life. Yet she's going the other way around. She also has this... Attitude that rubs me the wrong way, I can't explain it. Like she's better than anyone else and she's using everyone around her. Especially Hubert.

Dimitri... Dimitri... Oh God... Um... In real life - I'd cut this man out of my life. Nope. Nope nope nope. I get it... He's been through some shit. But, do I really have to be responsible for this dude? I've never done the Blue Lion route so I don't know how Dimitri gets... Better? But, I hope it's not like "Don't worry Dimitri, I will heal you" "My love will cure you". Like... No. I'll be there if he needs someone to talk to, but if the route has me feeling like I'm responsible for this man and his actions. Nope. No. He scares me. Felix did warn all of us...

Now there's Claude, who I did like at first. Then I kept playing the game. And I got some shady vibes from this dude. I personally feel like he's using me for his schemes, which I think is something he admits in some way(?) Like, yeah he's nice. But, then he gives me this false sense of security. Honestly, all three of these royals give me that feeling.

The whole game gives me a false sense of security 🤣

I think the only head of the house I trust is Yuri, and he's a dlc and someone involved with gangs and has done assassination shit 🤣

Why couldn't I just join the Ashen Wolves, as a member not a teacher?

Possible interesting relationship dynamics I’ve thought of potentially happening in the Fire Emblem: Three Houses verse threads and why I think they’re possible:

Tahirah + Dimitri: She’d literally be the gentle girl to his brooding boy. Both of them have lost family (albeit in different circumstances) and feel a strong sense of responsibility to do well for their homelands/kingdoms.

Tahirah + Ferdinand: Ferdinand’s strong sense of being the ideal noble and trying to live up to it would honestly appeal to Tahirah in a lot of ways. She’d find it sweet that he strives to do better (and she’d absolutely be happy to lend him a hand with dealing with his corrupt father Ludwig). I also think that Tahirah generally being beloved by her own people might inspire Ferdinand to continue working toward the ideal noble sense.

Tahirah + Claude: Both of them come from places outside of Fodlan (Tahirah is from Melodia, Claude’s from Almyra) and both aspire to end isolationism and discrimination in their respective areas. Melodia has a history of taking in a variety of people mainly for refugee reasons and so on, and Claude might be interested in learning more about that to use as reference for his own plans.

Tahirah + Lysithea: Lysithea hates being treated like a kid. Tahirah has essentially ruled Melodia since age 11 and had to deal with some ageism (such as people thinking that she’s too young to take on such a responsibility). Both could have a good chat about that (and eat lots of sweets. Tahirah will definitely feed Lysithea some).

Tahirah + Edelgard: Both have gone through/will go through much to make their changes happened. In Tahirah’s case, by the time she’s a student at Garreg Mach, she’s already won a civil war while Edelgard is essentially prepping to cause one in Fodlan. Edelgard might be interested to learn about her schemes and Tahirah would feel the same about her.

Rafaele + Hubert: Both of them work from the shadows a lot to do well for Tahirah and Edelgard respectively. Imagine them both coming across the other pulling off some schemes and being like “oh. You’re like me.”

Lukas + Manuela: I think I talked about this in a previous post, but Lukas would honestly happily flirt with Manuela (on a friendshippy and/or romantic level) and would genuinely join her for some drinking nights. However, how Manuela reacts to learning more about Lukas’ past would be interesting to see unfold.

Arlyn & Seteth: Both are the resident worrywarts about specific loved ones. XD Chaos ensues as they both try to keep calm, carry on, and vent to each other about all of it.

Nuriel & Caspar: THESE TWO. ARE SO LOUD! XD They would absolutely start a tavern fight to serve justice (and end said fight).
