i wrote

a little snippet about Edith and Sherlock from the Enola Holmes movie because I thought they were cute so here goes nothing...

It was Enola’s fault. She was the reason Edith ever met Sherlock in the first place. Edith had a habit of staying away from people who invited trouble into her life and what was Sherlock if not trouble in a suit?

Of course she’d heard of the illustrious and enigmatic detective before; who in London hadn’t? But that didn’t mean she had any intention of knowing him personally. Even, and especially, because she was friends with his mother.

So she met trouble on a Tuesday while at the library with Enola. It was quite a coincidence, really. Edith and Enola were much too enthralled in the search for a copy of A Manual of Bandaging to pay much attention to people in the aisle, much less notice Enola walk right into a gentleman’s backside-

“Enola?” The man turned around at the intrusion, blinking between the two of them. The gaze he settled on the younger woman demanded answers. Edith was glad he did not seem to want answers out of her. She was not typically inclined to answer to the whims of strange men.

summary- y/n is regretting some things shes done to herself in the past

looking at yourself in the mirror you sigh looking up and down your arms turning them. the flat white and light pink scars that raise on your skin. you were supposed to go to the mall with millie and louis today but now your not so sure you wanna go. it was pretty warm in the city of london (surprisingly) right now causing you to need to wear a short sleeved shirt.

when you were younger you thought you wanted these scars. you’d see other people with scars and envy them. now? now you wish you’d never picked up the blade. you wish you would’ve asked for help. you ‘ruined’ your body.

before you could get too far lost more in your thoughts louis opened the door while quickly knocking.

“hey do you know where my headphones are?” he asked while shuffling out the blankets on the bed.

“no” you didn’t exactly mean to mumble it like that you just- did?

he quickly turned around and looked at you with a concerned look “hey you ok?”

“yeah, im ok why?”

he noticed you folding your arms behind your back trying to hide them. you’ve done this before. he sits down on the bed patting beside him “mhm no your not c’mere”

you stay standing infront of him on the bed, the mirror behind you for a second looking anywhere but him.

“please?”

you slowly go over and sit on the bed next to him in silence for a little bit.

you started getting lost in your thoughts again. images of the black t-shirt and blood dripping into water and-

“hey look at me” “you did not ruin your body ok? your beautiful. and strong. the scars are part of you weather you like it or not. think of them as birthmarks”

you feel his thumb going up and down your arm. a feeling that always calmed you no matter where hes tracing.

“sometimes i wish they weren’t part of me” you whispered but enough that he heard you.

“i know baby i know.” he gently lifted your arm started gently kissing all he scars striping that one arm while rubbing the scars with his thumb on your other arm.

“what’re you doing?”

“if you wanted me too, id kiss all your scars away if i could”

this. this made you really happy. smile, even.

“lou?” you spoke softly.

“ y/n” he answered back just as softly, putting your am down.

“i love you”

“i love you too”

hes said this to you before multiple times, but no matter that, it never seized to seem as if it was the first ever time you’ve heard those words. you two stayed like that for about 5 minutes. you clung to his side, his arms wrapped around your shoulders and stomach. no sounds but each others breathing and heartbeats. untill you heard a knock downstair from your front door.

you look to the clock on the bedside table

“1:23″

“its probably millie.” “you still wanna go?”

“yeah”

“oh my god y/n move the pillow” louis loudly exclaims.

“huh?”

“just move it!”

confusingly you lifted the pillow, soon being not so confused

“aha! my headphones!”

“lou i swear-”

“thank you darling” he teasingly remarked planting a rather harsh kiss on your cheek soon running downstairs.
