Warnings: 18+ MDNI, mature language, slight angst, reader is nervous af but so is Eddie, allusions to smut, innuendos, weed smoking, lots of kissing and fluff!
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie wasn’t a stranger to romance, by any means. He’d taken quite a few girls out on successful evening adventures and had done (close to) it all— dinners, movies, picnics, carnivals, festivals, concerts, rock climbing, you name it. He took pride in his creative ideas, most of them ending very well with a sleepover or quickie in the car with promises of second or third dates.
But no matter the passion and intensity that fueled their date, one of three things always happened; it would fizzle out, there’d be no real connection, or they couldn’t handle his schedule.
Eddie seemed to attract the girls that always wanted an adventure, the kind that wanted a fairy tale romance with extravagance and constant attention, which aren’t bad things to want, necessarily, he just wasn’t equipped for it.
So tonight, as he searched his closet for something to wear, he doubted his plan for the hundredth time.
You didn’t seem like one of those girls. Based off his impressions of you, you’d like to be cozy at home with a good book or a movie to watch. But if he’d asked you to spend the evening at his place to do just that, you’d probably get the wrong idea.
He sighed and dragged his hands down his face, sitting down on his unmade bed with shirts and pants thrown haphazardly around the room. “Dak!” He called through his hands. “DAAAAK” he cried until his door flew open with urgency.
“What?!” His older brother asked.
“Help me.”
“What?” He deadpanned.
“Help me.” He sat up and dropped his hands, his state somber as he help up two shirts.
“You’re not serious.” Dakota looked him over. “You’re not actually nervous right now, are you?”
“Sadly, I am deeply serious.” He shook his head at himself, in disbelief and almost disgust, “And that’s why I can’t dress myself right now.”
“Look at me, man.” Dakota crossed the room and put his hands on Eddie’s tattooed shoulders. “That girl has got it so bad for you already.” Despite his brothers assurance, Eddie rolled his eyes. “I’m serious!”
Eddie swatted away his brothers hands and walked over to the closet again, “Every time you look at your phone, you’re smiling.” Dak added.
“Not every time—“
“Every time it’s her, dumbass.” Dak rolled his eyes.
“So what?” Eddie grabbed yet another black band tee from the closet to look over.
“So! You act like you’re already in a relationship.”
Eddie scoffed, “How??”
“You haven’t been working your tables like you do!” Dak accused, and was already prepared with another reason before Eddie could roll his eyes one more time. “Those girls at brunch today! Two of them were making major eyes at you, one of them touched you and left a number and you didn’t do a thing!”
Eddie scoffed.
“—and I know you’re going out on the balcony at night to talk to her!” Dakota said with a smile, watching Eddie’s blush bloom.
“No, I just happen to be smoking when we decide to talk on the phone.” He shrugged and pulled the shirt over his head. “Thanks for nothing.” He pulled on his jacket and looked in the mirror.
Dakota rolled his dark eyes this time and sat on the bed, “Every night?”
“What? It’s not every night.”
“For the last two weeks, almost!” Dakota recalled quickly.
Eddie froze. It had been three weeks since you’d come back to the restaurant. Only three weeks had passed since he got your number and kissed you, actually kissed you. Since you’d started texting, the conversation hadn’t stopped.
You’d been great over the phone, your shyness only indicated by how long you took to type out a response, which he found very endearing, still. Your conversations ranged from the day to day of your work lives to why your favorite songs are your favorites, and who introduced you to your favorite snack and how you always have a bag in the cabinet. How certain books make you sit it down to take a breath and calm down and how you feel fictional things too viscerally sometimes.
Eddie loved that his phone was never dry anymore, finding himself lingering on every text bubble that bounced in wait for the next question you’d have for him. Girls seemed to ask the same questions, about his tastes and his history, but never why he still watches his favorite cartoon every night before bed or why he wears his moms rings on his right hand and not his left.
He hadn’t experienced this kind of infatuation before, so he tried not to count too much on it lasting—but it did.
“I like her! That’s not a secret!” Eddie says, sitting next to him to tie his shoes. Dakota smiles and looks down at Eddie’s glowing screen.
A notification from Snapchat with your name popped up, Dakota’s eyes going wide, “And you have her on snap?”
You’d added each other on snapchat before a week had passed, Eddie asking if you had one because he wanted to see your pretty face. You were thankful to not have to be the one to ask because you wondered about the same thing, he had the personality for it though, like he’d thrive on it or avoid it completely.
But Eddie liked snapchat. It wasn’t public, and his circle of friends were the only people he had on it. And now you were apart of that, too.
You loved watching his stories, the shenanigans he got up to at work and home were updated almost regularly. You’d seen him practice with his band, smoke in his car singing to music you’ve never heard, make drinks and salads at work with his hours in the caption and an invitation for his friends to “come see me, fuckers!!!!”
“My point is, little brother—
“Fuck offff—“
“—C’mon let me do my job.” Dakota looks at him pointedly. Eddie nods for him to continue. “No matter what you do tonight, she’s gonna have a great time. Cause it’s with you. And you guys already have a connection! I don’t recall you talking to anyone this much before a date.”
Eddie sighed and nodded. “You’re right.” He fought a smile by picking up his phone and opening the picture you took in a mirror.
‘Is this suitable? No scuba gear needed?’
Eddie chuckled to himself before he looked over your outfit in the frame and swallowed hard. You wore a fitted black skirt with a black knotted graphic tee, your legs covered by black sheer hose and black docs on your feet. You held a denim jacket in your hand and your hair was done the same way he’d seen it last.
He was thankful for the lack of time limit on the message, tempted to save it forever.
“My point proven.” Dakota stood and waved to the phone. Eddie groaned with a smile that Dakota returned.
“Stick to your plan, Ed, it’s a good one!” He called as he treaded down the hall, off to prepare for his own company tonight.
Eddie looked back down at the picture, at your lined eyes and glossed lips. He sighed and took a screenshot.
He flopped backwards on the bed, his arms flailed out and eyes closed before he had the idea to snap a picture of himself and draw x’s over his eyes.
‘So gorgeous you knocked me dead.’
He wanted to roll his eyes at himself, but he couldn’t because he had it on good authority it would make you smile.
And it absolutely did.
You fell into your couch, clutching your phone at the sight of him. His curls were perfect and his tattoos peeked out of the collar of his shirt. You groaned to yourself in agony—how dare he be so hot!!!
And funny!!!
He was always sending you something to make you smile—‘Avaca—don’t fuck with me” being one of your favorites he’d sent as he munched on chips and guac over his break one day.
But this one sent butterflies rushing through you, and they only multiplied when you saw he saved your picture.
You check the time, Eddie due to pick you up at 6:30.
It was 6:27, and as you get up to spritz some perfume, you hear a knock at your door. Your heart leapt, how long had you been sitting there looking at his face??
You grab your purse and shrug on your jacket as you run to open the door.
In the hallway he stood, 6’2” in boots that matched yours. “Hey, sweet girl!” His smile brightened as he greeted you, his heart quickening in delight when you threw your arms around him. He didn’t hesitate to bend down and hug you back. “I missed you.” He found himself saying into your hair.
“I missed you too.” You smile over his shoulder as his large hand rubbed your back.
He pulled back from the hug to let you lock your door and immediately offered his arm, “Right this way, milady.”
You chuckle and hook your arm through his. “So can you tell me where we’re going now?” You ask as you come to the elevator and he pushes the button. You’d brought it up a couple times in the weeks you’d been texting, determined to get a clue no matter how big or small.
But alas, Eddie was proving to be a good secret keeper.
He tsked and shook his head, “Nice try, sweetheart. But each location is highly classified and I’m not at liberty to divulge that kind of information.” The doors opened and he gestured for you to step inside first.
“But you literally are.” You say as he pushes the button for the bottom floor. He looks at you with mischief in his eye, one that sends your gaze downward and your cheeks blushing.
“Hey,” he says softly. You look up and find him closer, his hand landing on your shoulder, “No shy stuff tonight, okay?” He says gently. Not a demand, but an encouragement. “I want you to be comfortable with me.”
You nod at him.
“Yeah?” He asks in confirmation, to which you nod again. He takes your hand as the doors open and leads you outside to his car.
You should’ve known he’d drive a shiny blacked out camaro, the windows tinted darker than you thought legal. Eddie looked proud as he watched you take in his pride and joy he had detailed at his second job special for tonight.
You got to the door before he could, the man mentally scolding himself as he watched you buckle up while he climbed in and shut the door. He marked how pretty you looked sitting in his car, like that seat had been waiting for you.
Your skirt stretched deliciously over your thighs and rode up in the back as you settled, your fingers sat intertwined in your lap and picking at a hangnail absentmindedly as he starts the car, his music kicking on and the air conditioning blowing his air freshener through the vents, smelling like him.
“You sure you’re comfortable?” He asked, spying your hand and slipping his fingers between yours. Your hand relaxes into his and you give him a squeeze and nod, “Yeah!” You say, “I’m sure. Thank you.” You nod again.
Eddie narrows his eyes playfully, as do you with a poorly repressed smile. “You sure…” he says with suspicion in his tone.
You nod again with a soft smile, “Yeah.”
“…Can I have a kiss to prove it?” He asked, smiling when he saw you practically melt, your eyes dipping to his lips before you nodded and leaned toward him. “Thanks—” He mumbles before cupping your face and tilting you up to meet his lips for an innocent lingering peck. He pulled back and smiled at you when you noticed yours stayed closed for a few moments longer than his.
“Thank you.” You finally manage as he gently releases your cheek as if he didn’t want to, and chuckles at you, shifting the car into reverse and exiting the parking lot.
“Wait, locations? Plural? There’s more than one?” You ask suddenly.
“Aght! That’s all you get!” He says with warning in his tone before he takes your hand again. You giggle at his touch and he looks at you and then back at the road, “M’sorry! I just like you or something!” He says as he releases your hand and you’re quick to snatch his right back up.
“No! I think it’s cute.” You say, lacing your fingers with his and covering it with your other hand. You don’t miss how he smiles at the road, lifting your hand to his lips.
“I like affection, if you couldn’t tell.” He shrugged, his lips brushing over your skin as he spoke, and then pressed a kiss to your knuckles.
You smile at the feeling, “I thought it might be a possibility.”
“If you don’t like any of it, you’d tell me, right?” He asked.
You nod, “Yeah, I would.”
“You would?” He asks in clarification.
You nod again.
“So you like it?” He asked with a smile.
Your jaw opens and you can’t help but smile and nod again, “Yes!” You cover your eyes with your hands in embarrassment, “You just like to mess with me, don’t you?” You cross your arms and ignore your burning cheeks as you smiled at his own grin, really just taking him in after three weeks without seeing him in person.
“I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t so fun!” He remarked and patted your knee fondly.
You shake your head but say nothing back, knowing you liked it when he picked on you.
“And here we are, stop number one.” He says as he pulls into a restaurant. The building was white stucco and had two stories. There was outdoor seating with large black umbrellas for shade, and a sign sat atop the building with red neon lining the swirled letters that read, ‘LaDonna’s’
“C’mon.” He smiled, opening his door. You unbuckle and by the time you’re reaching for the handle he’s popped the door open and reached out for you. You smile as he pulls you to your feet and leads you to the door, your hand in his the whole way.
When you’re seated, a waiter bounds over with a smile set on you, “Hey guys, can I get any drinks started for you tonight?” He looked between you.
“I’ll have a coke.” Eddie said when you nodded at him to go first.
“Uh, me too.” You agree before the server hurries away.
“So… you think he’s cute?” Eddie winks at you as he shrugs off his jacket and then slides a menu to you.
“You jealous?” You chuckle and go to flip the menu over to view the entrees when he lays his hand on it to keep it flat.
“Absolutely.” He said easily, leaning forward, “Don’t tell me you have a thing for waiters.” He rolled his eyes with a teasing smile tugging at his lips.
You blush and shake your head no.
“Good, cause we’re gonna see a few tonight, and I’m not prepared to take a loss like that just yet.” You shoot him a questioning look just as he taps the appetizers, “This is the section you need to pay attention to—I want you to pick one for us.”
You glance down to the section of options and back up at him, his gaze set on you with gentle intensity that has you smiling and nodding. “Okay.”
You try to relax as you scan the menu with his eyes on you, fighting the smile on your face and feeling like that pathetic thirteen year old you turned into when you first met, the words not having any meaning as you read each dish and the description.
Last time, it was the possibility of Eddie watching you read the menu and having to decide in a timely manner, that made your mind blank, and then it was his proximity as your waiter that drove you stupid, not to mention the circumstances surrounding your anxiety now.
Eddie’s knee bounced eagerly, his chain lightly jingling every so often. He twisted his ring and smiled when he caught your eyes flickering up from the table to his hands and back down again. His grin spreads and you notice, sinking in your seat and nonchalantly lifting the menu to form a wall between you and his face, the measure actually helping your ability to focus a bit.
“Aww, c’mon now, sweetheart,” he tapped at your menu shield and peeked over, “—you told me no shy stuff.” He chided and snickered as you lower your menu with a playful scowl.
“It’s not my fault I lose my ability to read when I’m nervous.” You weakly chuckle and shove your hands under your thighs, dipping your vision back to the menu, spotting the words ‘chips and’ and then ‘fried’ when he tapped the table next to the menu again.
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking— do you wanna g—“
“No!” You cut him off, finding his eyes soft and full of concern for you. “No, I’m okay.” You nod assuringly.
“Well, you… want some help?” He shrugs.
You cock your head but before you can ask he explains, “I could read them off to you and you tell me what sounds best! Half of my job is helping people pick, anyway.” He said as he picked up your menu and acted like he was straightening out a newspaper.
“R-Really?” You ask.
He nods as if anyone would think to do that for you—you hadn’t even thought of it.
“So we got chips, queso, guac, wings?” He looked at you like he’d cracked the code, but you scrunched your nose and shook your head. “—that’s okay— cheese fries, fried mozzarella—“
“—Cheese fries?” You ask.
“Yeah? You like bacon on them?” He asked brightly.
You nod, “And jalapeños, too.”
“Oof, so you like it spicy.” He said observantly, another blush painting your cheeks before he nodded at the approaching waiter and gathered the menus.
“Have we decided?” The guy asked after he set down your drinks, looking at you again.
Eddie answered, “Yeah! We’ll take a large order of cheese fries with bacon and jalapeños.” He handed the menus back and smiled at you simply while the waiter went back to the kitchen.
“So, how did that assignment turn out? That summer camp booklet thing.” He asks with a sparkle of interest in his eyes.
“The brochure?” You giggle, your cheeks heating as your heart swells at the thought of him asking about it.
You’d mentioned it one night when he FaceTimed you. He was outside on his balcony, his torso bare and covered with ink you hoped to inspect sometime soon. You noted where his shoulders dimpled and the way the city lights reflected in his eyes and hoped one day you could join him on that very same balcony, having the same kinds of talks about everything and nothing.
He nodded as he sipped and replaced his drink back on the coaster, “Yeah! Did you end up liking it? Was it what you wanted it to be?” He asked.
You smile and nod and take out your phone to show him the video you took of the finished product, an actual, cohesive, design that captured the vibes you’d felt when you’d initially received the assignment. The book was beautiful, in your opinion, and Eddie seemed to think so too as you told him about when you saw it printed and stapled you felt all giddy and lame.
“That’s not lame though, you’re proud of your work! I know I am! I remember you showed me when it was just the template and the color picker— it looks so good! Y’know I used to be fine with never going to summer camp, but now I’m jealous!”
You let out a hearty laugh and set your phone to the side along with his, “Eddie it’s not a real summer camp, I just made it up.”
“Oh.” He chuckles with a blush, “Well, you convinced me! The vintage kinda look you gave it feels very… authentic.” He nodded as he decided his final word, his assessment making your heart soar.
“Thank you, I got an A, so I guess my teacher agrees.” You shrug bashfully. “But what about you? How’s that song coming?” You ask before unwrapping a straw and plunging it in your drink.
Eddie smiles the same way you had when he asked about your project, “It’s getting there!” He said humbly, in a way that made you know he made great progress on it despite his words, “—inspiration struck fairly recently, you could say.”
You nod, “That’s great! What’s it about, again?” You ask, wondering if he’ll give you the run around again like when he’d first mentioned it.
“Well, i-it’s about a lot of stuff,” he nods, fiddling with his own straw but not yet tearing the paper off. “Like, where I come from and where I’m at and where I see myself going—what I’m looking forward to the most… etcetera etcetera.” He nodded thoughtfully.
You smile with him, “That sounds beautiful. I’d love to hear it when it’s finished.”
“Oh, I plan on you being the first to hear it.” He said with wide eyes that filled you with anticipation.
“Well I must be something special.” You tease softly.
He nods, “You must be.” He bites the inside of his lip to contain his smile, feeling like an idiot when he felt his heart speed up merely at the way you looked at him. Your eyes round and set on him like he was a dream. Your shoulders wanted to curl in on yourself, your shyness was lingering but you were peeking out from behind the curtain. And he loved what he saw.
You were smart, and despite your struggles with anxiety, you had a lot to say. He was determined to hear all of it, especially if it came out of your smiling mouth. He loved that you were figuring out how to play with him, but didn’t make it feel like a game. Eddie was used to flirty banter but nothing that made him feel like the way it felt with you.
Your shy nature really topped it off for him, your tentativeness making it that much more fun to mess with you.
He’d never forget the way you sounded on the phone when he called for the first time. Your trembling sighs were full of nerves, the phone picking up soft chuckles, and a shy lilt to your voice that clenched his heart to the point it ached.
You’d come quite a ways since then, though part of him hoped you’d always be a little shy.
The waiter brought over your heaping basket, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, Colby Jack, and American cheese all melted on the top of the extra crispy fries.
Eddie’s eyes were bright as he beheld the food, and then looked up to find you unfurling your napkin and silverware, your bottom lip in your teeth as you spear your fork into a measly section to pull onto your tiny plate.
“Oh, I should’ve known you’d be one of those.” He teased as he pulled a fry from the top, the cheese stretching an impressive distance before snapping.
“What??” You ask, welcoming his banter with pink cheeks you suspected wouldn’t be leaving any time soon.
“Don’t tell me you eat fries with a fork.” He deadpanned and took a bite.
“I don’t, but when I’m sharing an appetizer with someone I try to be polite.” You jab your fork into another helping to plop onto your plate. “Thought that’s something you liked about me.” You quip before cutting into the cheese fries and sticking a bite in your mouth, your lips sliding off the fork as you hold eye contact with him.
You barely notice how his gaze dips to your mouth, how he swallows before he smiles and speaks again, “I do. There’s a lot of things I like about you.”
You shake your head as you chew and swallow, “That was an easy one.”
“What??” He asked as he grabs another clump of fries, carefully stacking a jalapeño on top and biting into it.
“You and your lines.” You roll your eyes.
He smiles though he puts a hand to his chest in offense, “You think I have lines??” He asked.
“How can you not? You always know what to say, how to… I dunno… stun me?” You shrug at your loss of words.
Eddie almost cackles and wipes his mouth with a napkin, “Stun you??”
“You know what I mean!” You take a bite, taking care to get the perfect amount of bacon and jalapeño on top before taking a large bite that made Eddie a little proud. You chew and appraise him as he does you, strong jaw working and his eyes waiting for your next sentence. “I just feel like you’re too smooth for it to be real, y’know—I keep thinking this is going to turn out to be one big joke.” You chuckle weakly and shrug.
Eddie deflated a little and reached his hand across the table, resting on top of yours that held your fork. “Sweetheart,” he sighed and you felt a pang of guilt swim around in your chest when you saw the hurt in his eyes, “I… I know what that’s like. Believe me, it’s—“ he sighed again, “—I can’t ever stop thinking about you.” He squeezes your hand. “I’m not used to a girl doing that to me, taking over my every thought.” He chuckled in disbelief, “I like you. A lot.” He assures with a nod and you mirror it, feeling bad he had to do this already.
“I’m sorry.” You drop your fork and wrap your fingers around his. He shakes his head, as if it were no bother. “I…” you take a deep inhale and slowly let it out as you talk, “—kinda have trust issues, if you couldn’t already tell.” You avoid eye contact until you hear his chuckle.
“I get it, I really do.” He nods before meeting her eye again, “But my interest in you has nothing to do with a joke and everything to do with the fact you’re interesting. And sweet. And cute. And smart— I honestly have no idea what you’re doing out with me.” He said it as if he believed it and took a bite.
You shake your head, “You’re so full of it.” You chuckle and prepare to take another bite, though the smile on your face told Eddie you were flattered and ready for more back and forth.
“It’s true! You know how many people see me coming and cross the street to avoid me?” He seemed pleased with himself and with the face you made, genuinely confused. “—Cause I look mean and scary.”
Your eyes widen, “Oh! Well, I don’t think you’re scary cause you’re mean.”
“You think I’m scary?”
“I think you’re scary cause you’re so… pretty—I mean handsome!”
Eddie lets out a laugh so hearty it turned a couple heads, but all you did was blush and smile at the reaction you were able to pull from him.
“You’re too cute—wow.” He grabs a clump of fries and takes a bite through his lingering smile. “So you wouldn’t cross the street if you saw me coming? Shy little thing like you?”
You shook your head, “Would you cross if you saw me coming?”
“If I’m across the street on 8th and caught a glimpse of you walking down 7th, I’m jay-running to come introduce myself.” He said without missing a beat, “I’d change direction just to walk with you.”
“You really can’t help it,” You laugh melodically, full and with your belly, your eyes practically closed in your amusement.
“When it comes to you? Not a bit.” He smirked as you collected yourself with a deep breath and continued eating.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“No way. I don’t believe you!” You chuckle madly as he nods.
“Oh, but, I did, I read every bit of it— and from the sound of it, you did too.” He looked at you with his bashful grin as you nodded quickly.
“Look at me and tell me it isn’t obvious that I’m a TwiHard.” You say pointing to your face.
The conversation had turned to reading, Eddie asking about your reading goal for the year you’d set yourself and balking when you said you were on book twelve in the month of May, and then reminiscing on his days as a bookworm when people were waiting in line for the newest additions to the Twilight Saga.
“I guess there’s only one thing I need to ask.” He said as he leaned forward. “Team Edward or Jacob? You should know that there is a correct answer, and if you respond Team Jacob I’ll l have to La Push you into traffic.”
“Of course I’m Team Edward! Jacob can keep his idealized version of Bella and shove it—“
“—La Push.” Eddie teased.
“My mistake.” You chuckle and take another bite. “So did you read them or watch them first?”
“Oh, I read them.” He urged and shook his head at his past self, “I wanted to be a Cullen so bad.” He scoffed and smiled when you nodded in agreement.
“Who’s your favorite?” You ask.
“Hmm… back in the day I’d say Edward. But now I think my real favorite is Carlisle.”
You look impressed with his answer and nod for him to elaborate, “I didn’t have the finest of upbringings.” He cleared his throat, preparing to be vulnerable. To let himself be known. “My brother and I didn’t meet til we were teens—his mom and my mom didn’t get along because of the old man, but we both landed at our Uncle’s house around the same time and—“ he shook his head feeling way off topic, “I like the found family thing. You know? The people that don’t have to love you but still do anyways.” He chuckled.
When he looked up at you, he found your eyes soft and your hand reaching out for his again. The feeling of your hand in his was becoming familiar and he liked that he knew how you’d fit together.
“And you found yours?” You ask.
He nodded warmly, “Yeah. I did. I count Dak as found family since I haven’t always had him, y’know, sometimes it still doesn’t feel real that we’re brothers and not just friends. But brothers aren’t exactly supposed to show up on your doorstep one day and never leave, right?” He chuckles at himself and you give him a weak smile as you wonder what else you’ll learn about him.
“Do you have any siblings?” He asks.
You shake your head. “No. It was just me and mom, mostly.” You say almost tensely. “Things were… a lot different between us back then. It was hard living with her without my dad.“ you nod and your eyes flicker up to his, finding his gaze on yours, his lingering smile gone for the first time. “Reading helped. Still does.” You smile.
Eddie’s smile came back at the sight of yours and he nodded, “Agreed. Though I must say, I can’t find anything I wanna devour the way I consumed the hunger games trilogy—“
“Oh my god, yes!” You hastily agree and lean forward.
“I wasn’t that big of a fan of Gale.” Eddie sighed in thought as he sat back.
“What do you mean?! He kept her family alive while she was gone at both games, despite the mixed signals she was always sending him.” You explained and he shrugged.
“Mockingjay really showed their differences, though. They were each others first love, y’know? Best friends, most importantly. But he wanted her to be something she wasn’t. He became more desensitized to the violence and Katniss needed… I dunno… a softness, and m’boy Peeta knew exactly what she needed. Til he was hijacked.” He rolled his eyes and took a sip from his now empty drink.
You bite the inside of your lip as you come to realize you agree with him. “Okay. You got me. Katniss is softer than she lets on.”
“Kinda like how you’re braver than you let on.” He winks at you and you blush down at the empty basket. A waitress drops the check by the table, which Eddie quickly swipes up and places his money inside.
“C’mon, cutie,” he stands and hold out his hand, which you take without hesitance. “Time for the main course.”
You happily take his hand and follow him out the door, wondering if he would always wanna hold your hands so firmly in his. His grip reminded you of the way your mom held your hand in the stores as a child, like he’s afraid to lose you in the crowd.
You’re appraising him in the car as he fiddles with the radio, connecting his phone and playing a song you sent him a week ago. “Now you’re just trying to get brownie points.” You roll your eyes even though you blush.
“What? It’s a good song! Much like you, it’s been stuck in my head since I first heard it.”
“Have you always been like this?” You ask.
Eddie looks taken aback by your wording, “Like what?” He looks over at you incredulously, thought you can’t tell if he’s being serious or not.
“Charismatic and laid back and outgoing and, and, and!” You shrug and he scoffs. “I just wanna know if it’s a god given gift or if there’s hope for me, cause damn. You could charm the socks off anyone.” You shake your head and look out the windshield.
He chuckles and turns the wheel, getting settled in the new direction and lane of traffic before answering, “Just the socks?” He smirks over at you and you roll your eyes for the hundredth time and blush for the thousandth.
“Honestly, Eddie, I’ll la push myself out of this car if you don’t stop doing that.” You pry your eyes away from him and cross your arms though the playful smile lingered at the corners of your mouth. You loved it though it was growing immensely aggravating.
“Aw, c’mon, sweetheart, look at me.” He pleaded with a sorry tone, one you’d give a child in a sour mood. You didn’t comply, choosing to watch the traffic lights instead.
Your silence is ringing louder than a gong in Eddie’s ears as he drives, and before he knows it, he’s pulling over onto the shoulder and turning on his hazards, “What’s going on?” You ask, looking over at the gages on the dash for a check engine light or something. When you find his eyes on you, you flinch back in confusion.
“Now that I have your attention.” He smiled. You can’t help your grin as you swat at his shoulder and he turns to you. “I was the town pariah until I left at 21.” He sighed, his eyes looking more and more puppylike the longer he spoke, his eyes darting away like yours had the day you met. “You know how it is—small town America, everyone hated me for the music and stuff I liked and how I dressed, it’s dumb. Me being me caused a lot of trouble. And I had to learn to overcome their bullshit or let it get the best of me, which it didn’t.” He nodded assuringly. “I made great friends there. Most of them are here with me in the city, now. College and all. But I really found myself when I left Hawkins. When I figured out the world really was so much bigger. And that the people at home are the real weirdos, not me.” He scoffed and you nodded in agreement.
“Point is.” He sighed. “It’s a coping mechanism—my charm.” He shrugged, looking at you from behind the mask, his smile weak and eyes looking almost sad. “I’m sorry, if I come on too strong—“
“No! No.” You shake your head. “You’re great, Eddie.” You assure and your heart swells with his smile, “I’m so glad you shared that with me.” You accidentally rasp as you try to be quiet, “I know what it’s like to not belong… I wish I could’ve seen you back then.” You chuckle.
“Oh you would’ve hated me.” He rolled his eyes. “Couldn’t keep my mouth shut.” He tsked.
“Oh I can’t imagine that!” You tease and lean closer as you grab his hand and he smiles down at it.
“I’ve never been so nervous about someone.” He admitted as he flickered his gaze up to your eye just for a moment before looking back down at your intertwined hands. “No one’s ever treated me like such a big deal before. Or wanted to know me the ways you do.” He smiles up at you again before kissing your hand. “With you it’s like I wanna…. keep being the cool guy, y’know?”
“Eddie, you can’t actually be saying you’re nervous… because of me.” You shake your head, “It’s me, remember? Chicken fingers?” You shake your joined hands to jostle him like a friend getting a pep talk. “Y’know I don’t just swallow my tongue for anybody, you must really be something special! Plus have you looked at yourself lately? It’s intimidating how hot you are!”
He rolls his eyes, “Can I take my girl out to eat now? Or are you gonna ignore me again when I flirt with you?” He asks.
The term strikes somewhere eager in your chest, your eyes flying to his as he turns his blinker on to merge onto the road, “Mhm.” Is all you’re able to manage as he grins in satisfaction and takes his opportunity to join the flow of traffic, all without dropping your hand.

The walk through the parking lot was quiet but the silence was warm. Eddie had brought you to a place called ‘Black Barn Reserve’ and from the outside, it looked very rustic and cozy. The dining area was dim, candles illuminating the tables, and a large bonfire at the front of the open room, the large glass doors swung open to the outside for more areas to eat and lounge.
“You ever been here before?” He asked, his eyes taking in the scene and looking for a familiar face.
“Oh, gosh, no— I’ve heard of it though. It’s beautiful! I wanna curl up and read over there.” You point to an over stuffed armchair in the corner, adjacent to the bonfire.
Eddie smiles at the mental picture of you curled up with a book and a blanket next to a roaring fire, until he spots the familiar head of hair he’d been searching for. “Steve!” He stuck his hand up in greeting as Steve pushed through the crowd, shoving his order book into his apron as he approached.
“Its so good to see you!” The guy pulled Eddie in for a quick hug, and released him before looking over at you, “And you! Eddie has told us so much about you—“
“S’enough of that Steve,” He turns to you with a smile and introduces you by name.
“Steve Harrington— Eddie’s best friend.” The guy smiled and shook your hand before looking to Eddie, “It’s all set up for you.” He released your hand and patted Eddie on the back before darting off in the direction of a set of booths.
Eddie smiled at you bashfully and took your hand, leading you through the room to a secluded corner by a bay of windows. The booth was small and round, three candles at the center of the table smelling like warm and spicy herbs.
“I used to work here, with Steve.” He chuckled as you sat and began scooting to the other side, finding him following close by and capturing your hand under his. “That’s far enough, sweet thing, come closer.” He teased. You oblige him and scoot so close your leg almost pressed against his.
“Comfy?” He asked, placing his hand on your knee. You smile and nod, opening the menu with few options and tiny writing.
“I thought you had to have a reservation to get into this place.” You smile and look up at the ornate ceiling, the chandeliers barely glowing with light.
“Uh, usually you have to! I just got lucky that Harrington still works here and the shift manager still likes me.” He shrugged, looking down at the menu before looking over at you with a smile. “I’ve always liked this spot the most. Thought it was the best seat in the house.”
“Why is that?”
“Cause you get to enjoy every part of the place sitting right here. Bonfire,” he gestures to the fire a few feet away just outside, “People watching,” he motioned to the loaded dining room before you. “Plus the food is fantastic.”
“I’ve heard!” You chirp, trying to make out the font and find the word ‘entree’. Eddie’s finger comes into view when he points it out.
“The menu changes every night, so you can choose from the steak, pasta, or soup.” He drapes his arm on the booth behind you, looking off your menu instead of picking up his own.
You sigh in relief, nodding and automatically deciding you wanted the pasta. “You mean they don’t have chicken fingers?” You ask casually.
Eddie chuckles through his nose and leans closer. “If the pasta sucks, I’ll personally get you your chicken tenders.” He squeezes your knee before stroking the round of it with his thumb and draping his other arm around you.
“How’d you know I wanted pasta?” You ask.
Eddie freezes before his smile blooms, “Oh, uh, well, I remember your mom saying you liked that pasta—the first time you came to the restaurant.” You cover his hand with yours, brushing against his rings with careful fingers.
“I think it’s really sweet you thought of that.” You giggle, lighting up his world, “And for the record, I wanted that pasta. I just said chicken fingers because it’s all I could remember.” You put your face in your hand.
“No!” Eddie tsked, “so you don’t like chicken fingers?? Is that why you didn’t eat them??”
“No, I do! Just couldn’t eat them when my stomach was in knots.” You laugh it off and find Eddie’s smile waning.
“Is it-is it always like that?” He asked gently, “Your….?”
“Anxiety? Yeah.” You chuckle as the waitress approaches, a black dress and pearls around her neck like the rest of the female presenting employees. Her French twist was elegantly loose, and her lips were the perfect shade of mauve.
“Good evening, my name is— Eddie?” She questioned.
Eddie’s eyes fell away from yours and met hers with what seemed to be hesitance. “Monica! Hey! I didn’t know you were working here again.” He said tensely, making no move to stand like she seemed to think he would.
“I just started back about two weeks ago!” She informed him as cheerfully as she could before directing her attention to you, “I’m Monica, Eddie’s friend,”
“—old friend.” He clipped.
“Old friend.” She added, her eyes looking you over.
“This is my date, Y/n.” He put his arm around you, looking back to you, “Monica and I used to work together.”
“You could say that.” She scoffs, looking down at her leather bound book, “Can I get you some—“
“Two cokes, please.” You cut her off to get her out of the way, feeling quite shitty about it until she walked away and Eddie relaxed. You hadn’t noticed how rigid he’d grown when Monica arrived, the hundreds of questions swirling through your mind like an endless loop-de-loop.
You swallow before you meet his weary eye, flashing a closed mouth smile that was supposed to be encouraging, but for Eddie it hit him deep in the chest, like he’d already fucked up.
“Monica and I didn’t date.” He blurted.
You nod, the sentiment settling in. “I get it.”
“If I’d known she was working here again, I wouldn’t have brought you here, I’m so sorry.” He held your hand in both of his, “It wasn’t even a thing y’know, but she wasn’t… exactly… interested in me so I made a clean break and she…” he blew out a breath, “—was not happy.”
You nod again, the tension releasing in your chest. “Do you want to leave?” You ask, ready to give him an out and continue this date somewhere else.
“No, absolutely not.” He chuckled. “I’ve been wanting to bring someone special here for a while. Not gonna let anything ruin it.”
You smile and nod, happy to be wherever he is. Your eyes close in bliss when he leans forward to plant a kiss on your forehead, as another waiter brings your drinks and asks to take your order.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“That was literally the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life.” You groan in satisfaction as you leave the restaurant under Eddie’s arm, leftovers in the other hand.
“And now my question is, are you ready for dessert?” He asked with a glimmer in his eye, “too full?”
You shake your head, “Uh-uh, desserts the best part!” You insist, ducking into the car.
“Good. Cause the next stop is my favorite place to eat, like ever.” He smiled over at you and started the car, handing you his phone and the aux cord. “Play me something good, DJ.”
You racked your brain, searching for something he’d like, something that would impress him. You decide to go to your messages and play the song he sent you the most recently. “What?” He croons in disappointment as he joins the night traffic.
“What?” You chuckle.
“I said play me something good, not play me my music I listen to every day! Put on something you like.” He urged. “Let me in that pretty little cranium of yours.”
You bite your lip and nod, “You like the Warning?” You ask tentatively as you search them up.
Eddie shook his head, “I haven’t heard of them.”
“Well we’re gonna fix that.” You smile as the beginning of ERROR fills the speakers.
Eddies face lights up, when he hears the thudding bass lead the drums in. “Oh, shit! Okay!” He bobs his head to the beat, “I like it!” He says with a look on his face that shows you he’s impressed. “You’re gonna have to play DJ more often!”
You blush at the idea of being with him often.
You hoped you would be at least. And something in your heart to you, you would be.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“Eddie…”
“Mhm…”
“Why are we parked in front of Chili’s?”
“Because! I have a to-go order.” He smiled, unbuckling his seatbelt. “Sit tight, I’ll be back.”
You nod as he steps out of the car and bounds up the sidewalk to the door where he’d shown you his ‘hiding place’ the day you’d come back for him. Your heart beat madly in your chest, the first moment you’d had alone since the start of the date and you finally realize how out of breath you are.
Over nothing.
You take a few steadying breaths and press your hands to your hot face, the bitter sting of your cold skin bringing you back down to earth a little bit. He’d been practically perfect— the whole date was. You didn’t want it to end, to live in this warm, giddy feeling forever.
You check your makeup and are pleasantly surprised when you see it hasn’t budged or caked or creased, with the exception of your lipstick worn off from eating and drinking. As you spot the familiar bouncing strides turning the corner you slap the mirror shut and busy yourself queuing music on your phone.
The lights come on when he pops open the door and he smiles as he hands you a to-go bag containing a single box. “Miss me?” He asked with the playful smile you were growing fond of.
“Of course.” You chuckle and look at the bag, unsure if you should open it or not.
Eddie shuts the door and settles in his seat and turns to you with a smile, as if he were taking you in after a long trip.
“What?” You giggle.
He shakes his head, “Nothing. Just looking pretty kissable over there.” He smirks and put his hand on your knee, stroking in soft circles before glancing up at you again.
You smile and huff a gentle laugh before leaning forward and letting him kiss your lips, the energy bordering between chaste and something eager. You wanna deepen the kiss, tempted to put your hands on his face, through his hair, however you could keep him close— but he pulls away.
“Good girl.” He purrs and you stifle a gasp by clearing your throat and smiling. He nods at the bag. “Open it up for us.”
You unwrap it from the plastic bag and pop open the styrofoam shell to find a chocolate lava cake, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce drizzled across the top, and two silver spoons. You couldn’t help but notice the heart swirled in the chocolate on the bottom of the container and blushed madly as you look back up at him.
“You didn’t take a single bite—when you came with your mom. I even made sure you had a spoon in case you changed your mind and you didn’t! But… now that I know you a little better now… I assume you weren’t up to eating at the time. And everyone loves lava cake so…” he trails off as he purses his lips to the side.
You bite the inside of your smile and shake your head at him. “You’re—“ you try to find the words. Unbelievable? Amazing? Perfect? A dream come true?
He seems to realize your struggle and holds up a spoonful of cake and ice cream. “It’s still warm.” He whispers.
You take a bite and try to ignore the lump in your throat as you chew and swallow, or the tears prickling at your eyes at his tenderness. You loved how he made you feel and hated to think this could all be a trap. That he could give you this kind of love and take it away as soon as he grew bored.
And it made you feel so pathetic and weak and even a little naive all over again.
A tear slides down your cheek and he turns you by the chin to face him. “What’s wrong?” He says just above a whisper.
You meet his eye and wipe your face with a shaking head, “Literally.. nothing. I just—wow, I’m so sorry—“ you smile and sniffle and shake your head at yourself as you wipe your eyes, “—no one’s ever made such a big deal out of me. Not like this. Or—paid attention to me in the ways you do.” You shake your head. “I feel pathetic around so many people because my brain can’t handle life happening. I’m frazzled and scatterbrained and painfully shy, and I constantly feel like.. like a burden. Like it’s asking too much to be understood, Y’know?” You sniffle again as more tears fall.
Eddie nods and holds your hand and wills you to finish. His strong girl.
His brave girl.
“So, thank you.” You shrug. “Even if it doesn’t last I’ll always remember this.” You say candidly.
Eddie caresses your cheek and you lean into his touch, “Where have you been, sweetheart?” Is all he can ask. You scrunch your brows together in confusion and he leans in to kiss you again. Your lips are cold against his, tasting temptingly sweet, but he keeps this kiss innocent before pulling back and wiping away your tear with his thumb.
“I’m not going anywhere. Not until you tell me to fuck off.” He said with only a hint of playfulness in his soft tone. You scan his face to find a sign that he was just speaking empty words but his eyes— his deep amber irises soft with the warmth of the sentiment he spoke between you.
You sigh and nod profusely, unable to string the words fighting at the forefront of your mind to be placed together properly, to form a sentence that articulated exactly how full and wonderful he made you feel. Instead, you lean for ward and kiss him, a hand resting on his stubbled cheek.
Eddie chuckles against your lips and you feel his smile as he moves. You break the kiss and you linger so closely your noses brush. He takes it upon himself to nuzzle his nose against yours and you let out a giggle.
You pick up the other spoon and scoop a bite to hold up for him. He chuckles and takes the bite, his eyes on yours in the dim car light.
The intro to Fade Into You by Mazzy Star comes on, and your eyes dart to his to lock in an eager gaze, “I love this song!” You both say at the same time.
You can help but share a laugh before Eddie serves you another bite, “We should’ve been doing this all night, how romantic.” He teased, though he meant it.
You blush and roll your eyes before you hold up your spoonful to his lips, and as he takes a bite, you pull it away and eat it yourself with a smile.
“Ohhh! Is that how it’s gonna be, now? We were having a moment!” He chided with an amused smile. You swallow and serve him an extra big helping to make up for it, which he’s happy to accept.
“You are forgiven.” He says through a mouthful and smiles as he scoops a bite of ice cream into the spoon and holds it up, offering it just in front of his mouth.
You lean in with closed eyes and a gaping mouth, only to feel his lips slot against yours sensually. Warm and firm and languid, the heat both physical and energetic, the passion rippling between you.
You thought back to that movie Pretty in Pink, when Iona talked about Duckie’s kiss setting her thighs on fire— that’s exactly what this felt like. The fire consumed you, licking up your legs and hips, his daring little nip at your lip rendering you utterly thoughtless until he lifted the haze like a blanket, pulling back from the kiss just as you really needed it most.
“Now, we’re even.” He winks.
“Oh, no, we are not.” You say through a scoff.
Eddie’s eyes light up at the challenge, “You took a bite, so did I.” He shrugged.
You cross your legs and shift your hips slightly, your jaw clenched and your eyes narrowed at him and his antics. Luckily, Eddie knew exactly what all of those things meant. He placed his hand on your knee and stroked in an agonizingly slow circle. “Isn’t that fair?” He asks.
Your brain begins churning into mush as he looks at you in the way he did the first time you saw him, like you’re the most interesting person on the planet—the sexiest most interesting person on the planet. And you only just now realized.
You smile in a way he hadn’t seen before as you looked him over, “Absolutely not, you practically, freakin’ mouth fucked me!” You accuse with a smile of disbelief.
Eddie’s jaw drops as he laughs, “What?!”
“You heard me!” You giggle, “You’re just gonna juice my brain and pretend it was no big deal like I’m not gonna have to take two days to recover.” You push his shoulder playfully as he keeps laughing.
“Oh my god, you’re- you’re—“ he shakes his head at her, and instead of finding a word, he brings her in for one more brain juicing kiss.
It was hot and slow, it had you whimpering without any care or notice and arching your back into him despite the console between you, his tongue moving against yours and his teeth nipping at your lip every once in a while to make you moan for him, hoping he’d soon find out how to play other parts of your body to create louder sounds.
When the kiss finally broke, Eddie pushed your hair behind your ear and smiled at you. “I wanna ask you—properly— if you’d… be my girlfriend. A-And we can get together like this whenever we can, Y’know? I kinda like how we have the same crazy schedules. And you’re good at phone tag! You make it fun.” He smiles and swipes his thumb over your cheekbone. “You make my days exciting again, you know that? He admitted. “I’ve never liked phone calls—ever! But every time you call, I wanna drop my whole life to speak to you.”
You nod, but in a way that tells him you share the feeling because of him.
“Y’know other girls, they like the whole ‘bad boy thing’ I have going on and think I’m good for a fun night and a motorcycle ride, but none of them wanna deal with my hours, or my life. They’re not actually interested in me, you know? And here you are.” He nudges your nose with his. “Wanting to know my deep dark secrets and my favorite color.”
“Favorite colors aren’t deep dark secrets! And it’s not a secret if you wear it exclusively.” You give him a pointed look and he chuckles.
“Like my own pocket sized comedian, I swear.” He holds your face in both of his hands like a child having cute aggression and shakes his head with an affectionate smile.
“What do you say, chicken fingers? Feel like bein my girlfriend?” He asks.
You smirk playfully and shrug, “I may have to take a couple days to think about it, y’know? Had a great time though.” You try to stay serious, but the second he looks fearful and the gooey tenderness leaves his eyes, you’re shaking your head, “I’m just kidding! Just kidding, I’d love to be your girlfriend—are you kidding me?” You scoff.
Eddie barely has time to smile before you’re kissing him again, his laughter a mere mumble against you before it’s snuffed out by your kiss, his lips melting against yours.
As he’s running his fingers over your hair and relishing the feeling of your soft lips against his, he can’t help but wonder what date you’ll go on next, before this one’s even over.
You pull away, “Do you, uh—“ you shake your head at yourself.
Eddie nods at you, hoping he knows what you’re gonna ask him. “Go on, brave girl.” He whispers, keeping you close.
You blush and look down, “Uh, do you wanna—maybe, take me—“
“What, you want me to take you home, now?” He asked, quieter than before.
You freeze and bite your lip bashfully, “Or… home with you?” You meet his eye before darting away and chuckling at yourself, “I’m sorry, too much? It was too much—“ you don’t get a chance to ramble on before he turns your face back to his.
He’s got a cocky, pleased smile on his lips when he says, “I will happily take you to mine. Or yours if that’s what you want.” He looks you up and down for any signs of hesitation.
You nod, “Yeah, yeah, wherever you want. Just not… ready for this night to end.” You chuckle nervously.
Eddie beams at that and scoops up another spoonful, “One more bite and I’m taking my girl home. We can finish this later,” He smiles as you take a bite, “Late night snack, maybe?” He whispered in your ear as you chewed, and smiled when your eyes went wide and your skin burned pink.
“Where-where are we gonna—?” You ask, closing the container and putting it back in the bag.
“I’m taking my girl back to my apartment,” he said as he shifted the car into reverse, “—spending the rest of the night with a movie on the tv and my lips on yours.” He smiles over at you. “How’s that sound?” He takes your hand in his and kisses it as he slows to a stop at a red light.
“…Will you take me out on the balcony?” You ask shyly. His eyes widen and he balks, your brain needing a second to catch up, “Wait, no that’s not—“
“Too late, baby, it’s already out there—and the answer is yes, absolutely—anything you wanna do on my balcony, consider it done.” He says as he eases forward with the flow of traffic and you bury your face in your hands and giggle madly.
You peek open your eyes to see Eddie still smiling at the road ahead, turning into a parking garage. He held his lip between his teeth, carefully maneuvering into his reserved spot and looking over at you eagerly as he threw it in park and turned it off. “You ready? Sure you don’t want me to take you home?”
You nod, “Mhm, I’m sure.”
He nods back at you and opens his door, “Sit tight.” He says before shutting it and walking around to open your door for you.
“Oh, special treatment?” You ask as he helps you out.
“Oh, yeah, being my girl has its perks.” He pulls you up and wraps an arm around your waist before leading you to the elevator. He slides his hand across your back and grips your elbow before grazing down your arm to lace his fingers in yours.
You catch the doors going up with one of Eddie’s neighbors, an older woman named Nadine that wore an ornate silk scarf on her head, giving a warm toothy grin as she greeted you both. Eddie eagerly introduced you as his girlfriend, the woman shaking your hand with a warm pat before joking about Eddie’s appetite.
After she’d disappeared behind a red chipped door, Eddie fumbled with his keys as he explained, “Miss Nadine makes amazing dumplings and noodles, she’s always giving me leftovers since her husband passed away.” You watch her door as he unlocks his own, “He was great too.” He adds as the door opens and thuds the wall lightly.
“Home sweet home.” He says as he closes it behind you and you scan the area. “—sorry if stuffs a little…” he says as he snatches up some food wrappers and dirty cups. You giggle and spot the place on the counter where all the mail was dropped and torn open, Amazon boxes and shoes piled by the door.
Movie and band posters hung on the walls, along with some personal pictures that dotted the spaces here and there. “It’s okay, I like it. Clean houses can feel… sterile. Y’know? You live here, it’s supposed to look like it.” You chuckle as he successfully clears off the island and smiles at you.
“Well don’t you know how to make a guy feel at home.”
“In your own home?”
“Yeah!” He said as if it were simple. “Y’know… you aren’t the first girl I’ve brought back here…” he takes your jacket off your shoulders, you swallow thickly, wondering just how much he was used to in the bedroom, if you could deliver the kind of intensity he’s used to, “—but I was always really nervous about… I dunno, their judgement? Y’know they’d make comments sometimes and I wanted it be nice the first time you came and I dunno, just hearing that from you…” he shrugs with an easy smile, “C’mon. My rooms over here.”
You follow him, your heart thumping it’s way deeper into your chest. He pushes open the black door and you’re hit with the smell of him. His cologne, his detergent, the stale cigarette smoke, and a hint of skunk wafting over from the open grinder on his desk. “Fuck!” He mutters before shutting it and shoving the tray it rested on into the drawer.
You giggle and look around his room, at his messy bed covered with shirts and pants and jackets, several pairs of shoes strung about the floor. “Don’t worry, I kinda figured it came with the bad boy territory.” You turn to him and watch him pick up the clothes and stuff them back into their places to clear the bed.
He smiles and takes off his jacket, laying both yours and his on his desk chair.
“Ah, so.. do you…?”
You nod slowly and his face lights up, “Well… in that case..” he turns back to his desk and roots around for a minute before producing a blunt with the end barely smoked. “Care to ‘joint’ me out on the balcony?” He asks with a wink.
You practically snort, “That was awful, but yes, I would love to.” You smile and follow him to the double doors overlooking the street and horizon. He has it between his lips and lit by the time he turns to face you and leans against the rail, becoming a part of the gorgeous city view.
You tuck a leg under you as you sit in his chair, and wait patiently as he takes a hit. He looks over at you and smiles before reaching out to hand it to you, watching as you take a small hit without coughing, “Look at you, sitting all pretty in my chair, smoking my weed.” He said admiringly.
“Like what you see?”
“A little too much.” He smiles as you hand it back. “Been wanting to bring you out here since you first asked to see the view over FaceTime.” He blushed before taking a drag. “No one ever.. cared to, uh, come out here with me before.” He shrugged.
“Really?” You ask as you look into the blackness illuminated by the lights of night, stacked buildings and neon lights outlining and dotting the distance as far as the eye could see. “It’s like… a giant Christmas light show.” You mumble as he hands it back and you finally look at him.
“Think you could get used to it?” He asked.
You smile at him and his hopeful eyes, his knee bouncing with his nerves. “No.” You shake your head. He freezes for a second before you speak again, “It’s too pretty to get used to. I swear I just keep finding things to look at.” You shake your head in disbelief and then look back over at his smile set on you.
“I know exactly how that feels.” He whispered before squatting down to your level and stroking your cheekbone as you take one more hit.
“Do you?” You ask, turning the joint around and sliding it between his lips. He smiles at the intimacy and takes a drag as he nods.
“Mhm,” he says and exhales through his nose, “I thought this was beautiful, but now I got you out here and it’s just…” he shakes his head and you lean into his palm as his fingers find your hair, “You make it breathtaking.” He whispers, his eyes heavy with warmth and admiration.
You scoff and blush before looking away at the scenery, but a ringed hand turns you to face him by your chin, and he kisses you deeply, a warm palm on your cheek. It’s firm and deep as you move together, lustfully slow.
He pulls back from the kiss to whisper, “I wanna see you out here more, yeah?” He asked, kissing you once more, “—get you your own chair and everything.” He offers as he rests his head against yours.
You smile and nod the best you could, “My very own? More perks?” You say just as quiet, the street noise below barely even noticeable in this moment together.
“Not to mention the super comfy place in my bed… yours if you want it.” He whispers.
You stare at him for a minute and grab his wrist to lift the joint to your lips as he held it, your eyes on his the whole time had him gulping. “Can I… try it out?” You ask daringly.
Eddie’s eyes go moony and glazed as he nods eagerly, “Good girl.” He says before he’s bending over and flopping you over his shoulder to rush inside and drop you on the bed. He takes no hesitation in crawling over you and showering you with kisses that have you giggling the most you ever had.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Hours later, when the moon was full and high in the sky, and both of you were well sated in your desire for one another, you laid in Eddie’s arms, in his shirt, eating from the same spoon as you finished the lava cake and kissed the stray bits of chocolate and vanilla from the corners of each others mouths.
You’re nestled between his legs, against his chest, and he ducks down into your neck to inhale deeply like he’d been dreaming of since he first caught a whiff of you and your fancy perfume. You giggle when he presses a kiss there and when you turn your attention back to the Simpson’s, he checks his phone.
Despite the notifications littering his Lock Screen, he’s marking the date below the time, knowing deep in his heart this is how he’d wanna spend it every year forever.
Or until you tell him to fuck off…
Which is never happening.

Eddie's POV
Tumblr media
"God, Eddie... I'm.. oh shit!" she moans as she grinds her pussy on your face. Her hands grip the headboard tighter as her hips roll wildly.
You taste her all over your tongue, you feel her slickness as her pussy slides from your chin to your nose and back again. Her head falls back as she cums for the.. well, I don't know, I've lost count..
She's been here all night. You've taken her in about every place possible. The bed, the couch, the kitchen, the pool table... and you still weren't done.
Her thighs tremble around your head as she lifts slightly, removing herself from her seat on your face. You take a deep breath before grabbing her ass and bringing her back to your lips.
She whimpers in response. "Too much..." she pants but she doesn't move as you slowly slide your tongue back through her sweetness. You kiss her warmth gently and she moans softly.
Fuck, she tastes so good.
"I... I missed your tongue." she hums softly as you continue your slow pace. You work your tongue to her entrance, dipping it inside causing another small whimper to leave her lips.
"I... I have to go home, Eddie." she whispers and your fingers tighten on her skin, holding her in place. She brings her hand to the top of your head running her fingers lightly through your curls.
She yanks roughly causing you to release her ass as your head falls back. She climbs off of you and you roll over glaring at her.
"You know that just made me even harder." you growl and she smirks at you.
"I know." she burns as you crawl on top of her.
"Eddie.. I'm sore.." she whines as you guide yourself inside her slowly.
"Want me to stop?" you look at her with a grin.
"No.. no, don't stop." she breathes as you slowly begin thrusting into her.
I feel so alive when I'm with her. Don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with every inch of her body but I'm also obsessed with her. My crazy little fiend.
You speed up just a bit, pumping deep inside her and her nails begin to dig into your skin.
It's my favorite fucking feeling. All pleasure comes with a little pain. I happen to like a lot of pain.
"More, Nova.." you demand and her nails sink into you even deeper.
"Mmm... that's it, baby." you grunt lowly and she drags her nails down your back fiercely. You bring your hand to her throat and she lets out a choked moan as you increase your speed, slamming into her again and again.
I'm gonna cum... I've got to get her there first..
Her mouth falls open with a squeak as you hit her sweet spot. You bring your fingers to her clit, rubbing fast circles and her back lifts slightly off the bed.
"Cum for me... I want you to cum with me.." you move your fingers even faster as you drive into her pussy.
"S-so close..." she stammers as her eyes shut and her head sinks into the pillow.
"Fuck.. I'm gonna.." you moan just as she screams out in pleasure. You feel her flood your cock as you release into her. You grin down at her flushed cheeks, her chest is rising and falling quickly, her perfect breasts bouncing slightly.
You smack her thigh and she lets out a little yelp. "I fucking missed you." you lean down kissing her lips before nuzzling into her. Her nails rake across your back gently this time.
"I swear I could eat that pussy for every fucking meal of the day." you mumble into her neck before latching onto her skin, sucking harshly.
"Is that right?" she giggles.
"Mhmm.. I swear to god. Come back to me, Nova. We can do this all day, every day if you just come home." you whisper into her ear.
"I can't, Eddie." she replies softly.
"You don't want to be with me? That's bullshit and you know it." you sit up and look at her, anger bubbling inside of you.
I don't want her to leave. She's mine.
"Eddie, stop." she meets your eyes as she pulls you back down.
"We're not good together.. you know we're not..." she says as her hand comes to your cheek.
"Then fucking leave, Nova. Run back home to Max." you spit as you remove her hand from your face. You jump out of the bed and throw on your boxers.
Tumblr media
"Eddie..."
"What?!" you snap at her.
"Nothing. Nevermind." she snaps back as she climbs out of the bed. You watch as she digs around for her clothes.
Don't leave, baby. How do I make her stay?
She goes to slip back into her bodysuit and you quickly make your way to her. Your hands land on her hips and she looks up into your eyes.
Fuck, I made her cry... again. Damn it, Eddie.
"I didn't mean to snap at you." you say gently as you tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear.
"I shouldn't have come here." she says as she takes a shaky breath.
"That's not true... you belong here. Just stay... baby, just stay." you press your forehead against hers.
"Eddie... I haven't even looked at my phone.. Max is probably freaking the fuck out... I shouldn't be here... this is wrong..." she whimpers and you slowly bring your lips to hers.
Her eyes shut as she melts into your kiss.
I know you don't understand. I know I seem like an asshole. But she's my girl. She's mine. I want her with me all the time. I want to fall asleep next to her and I want to wake up next to her. Even when my dick is stuck in someone else I'm still thinking about her. We both just have some... anger issues. Love makes you fucking crazy. I have the scars to prove it.
***Flashback***
"I fucking hate you!" she screams drunkenly as she waves around a bottle of Hennessy.
"You're acting insane, Nova. Go the fuck to bed!" you shout back at her as you reach for your pack of cigarettes.
"Go to bed.. you want me to go to bed? Fuck you and that stupid bitch... she's not even.. she's not even that pretty.." she glares at you before taking another sip from the bottle. She's standing there in nothing but her panties as she continues sipping the alcohol.
Tumblr media
"We're working on a song together. Jesus Christ, you're so paranoid." you grumble as you light up a smoke.
"And whose fault is that? Huh, Eddie? Eddie Munson... King of the fucking world... you know what I think?" she slurs as her eyes meet yours.
"You're gonna tell me anyways..." you sigh as you see an evil smirk spread across her lips. Shit.
You dodge the bottle swiftly and it crashes against the wall behind you. A piece of the thick glass flies into your face, slicing you straight across your eyebrow.
"Fucking hell!" you roar as your hand comes to your face. You feel the sticky substance coat your hand.
"Eddie... shit, I didn't mean to..."
"Nova, just stop talking for a second..." you make your way to the bathroom and flip on the light. You see a steady stream of blood running down your face and across your lip.
You taste a metallic flavor as it hits your tongue. Nova comes in grabbing a rag and running it under the sink.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." she says again as she brings the rag to your face cleaning off the excess blood.
"Just call Jimmy, tell him I need medical." you say as you take the rag from her hand.
"Are you mad at me?" she wraps her arms around your waist and buries her face in your chest.
"I'm not mad, Nova... but I do need some fucking stitches.." you grumble and she squeezes you tightly before looking up at you. Her mascara is running down her cheeks, leaving little black streaks across her face.
She leans up and her lips press hard against yours. "Nova.. Jimmy.." you mumble against her lips.
"Mhmm.." she hums as her arms come around your neck. Her tongue slips in your mouth and your arms wrap instinctively around her waist. You taste blood mixed with Hennessy and cigarettes as her tongue swirls with yours.
I can't stay mad at her. It doesn't matter what she does.
"I.. love.. you." she moans into your mouth.
"Sweetheart.." you pull away and she looks up at you with a pout.
"I love you, too... now please.. call Jimmy. And go the fuck to bed." you say and she flutters her eyelashes up at you.
"Are you gonna come to bed?" she purrs as her hand runs across your clothed cock.
Jesus H. Christ.
"I promise. I'm gonna come to bed. Just let me get fixed up." you kiss her lips one more time.
"Okay... it was an accident, baby." she hiccups.
"I know, baby. I know."
I ended up getting the broken bottle pieces made into a piece of art and slapped that shit right on my wall. What can I say? I'm a sadistic fucker. I love every piece of her. Even the little piece of psycho.

Nova's POV
You can taste yourself on his tongue as his hand slides around your neck, gripping firmly. Everything in you wants to stay. But it's a bad idea.. it's always a bad idea.
"One more night, baby. Please." he begs as he moves to kiss your neck.
"Max is gonna kill me." you groan and you can feel Eddie smile against your skin. His lips move up your neck and to your ear slowly.
"I love you, baby." he says deeply.
"Not your baby, Eds." you sigh as your head falls back, exposing more of your neck to him.
"Whatever you say, sweetheart. Whatever you say."
******
I have to say something.
You hear Eddie start the shower as you stare at your phone in your hands. Shit.
Your stomach turns as you hold down the button on the side and wait for it to power up. As soon as it's on the messages come flooding in.
Max: We still on for lunch?
Max: Baby?
Max: Nova, where the hell are you?
Max: Babe.. I'm worried.
Max: Are you with him?
Your heart sinks and a feeling of guilt floods your stomach.
Chloe: Bitch.
Chloe: You're with Munson, aren't you?
Chloe: I'm telling Max you're with me. CALL ME.
Chloe: How was it? ;)
You toss your phone aside and lay back on the bed and cover your face with the blanket.
I don't know what I'm doing. I can't stay away from him. No matter what I do. No matter how hard I try. Max is good to me. He's so kind. So sweet. I'm such a bitch.
"Nova, sweetheart?"
Your stomach flutters.
"You coming? I bought a new shower head since the last time you were here... could be fun!" he yells from the bathroom and you can't help but smile.
"Be right there!" you yell back before grabbing your phone one more time.
You click on your messages and scroll past Max, landing on Chloe instead.
Me: Call you tonight. Promise.
Chloe: Better. And I hope you made him wash his dick before he touched you.
Me: 🖕🏼 🖕🏼 🖕🏼
Chloe: Love you my little slut.
Me: Love you more. 😘
I'm going to hell.
Eddie's POV
She looks like an angel laying there naked. Her pink hair bright against your black pillowcase. The silk sheets clinging to her body. She looks peaceful. Happy. A little smile on her lips as she sleeps.
Tumblr media
Your phone buzzes on the nightstand and you reach over swiping it open.
A text from and unknown number appears.
I know she's there. We need to talk.
Fuck you, Max.
You put your phone back down and slide closer to her. You slip your arm under her and pull her into your body. Her hair tickles your face as she sighs sleepily.
She'll be gone tomorrow. I'm gonna hold her for as long as I can.
You kiss her forehead lightly and her arm comes to your chest as her leg wraps around your waist. "I love you, Eddie." she mumbles.
There it is.
"I love you, Nova Gray."

Guitar String of Fate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MASTERLIST
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 4,062
Warning: Drunken shenanigans, thirst tweets.
Summary: When the band Daughters of Lilith tour bus breaks down in the middle of Indiana, they are left stranded for a few hours waiting for help. Y/N (also known by Echo) sees a bar in the distance with a giant LIVE MUSIC sign in bright neon lights, she tells the girls they might as well find some entertainment while they wait. The local favorite Corroded Coffin is playing, and when she locks eyes with the guitar player for the first time, Y/N can’t help but feel the electricity in the air. Will this be a missed connection? Or will the strings of fate bring them together again?
Author’s Note: Who doesn't love rockstars? I certainly do.
Part II
Y/N knew she'd get an earful after dropping the album early. Murray ran a tight ship and as their manager, it was his job to keep everything in order. There was supposed to be promo parties, meetings with big wigs, a bunch of fancy dinners. That was the plan, but Y/N was so exhausted. The tour took a lot out of her, the rest of the girls too. Chrissy was half dead on her feet after every show. Y/N made the split second decision to release the drop to ease the transition after the Antiquity tour. She knew Murray would give her an earful, but she didn't really care. The fans loved it, the rest of the band agreed, and that's all she needed to know. She didn't regret her decision in the slightest, but Murray's nagging was really grating on her ears.
"I don't see what the big deal is. It hasn't even been a day and the album is already charting in the top 10. You should thank me honestly"
"Thank you?! I should thank you?! I swear when you guys get to L.A-"
"Sorry Murray, you're breaking up. Bad reception in Hawkins. Talk to you later!" Y/N hung up the phone and immediately turned it off.
"You're terrible" Barb chuckled at the head of the bus. They'd only been driving for a couple of hours, passing through Hawkins, Indiana before getting on the interstate. Y/N had begged the driver to at least pass through it since they couldn't make a formal stop. Alexei was always a bit over a pushover, so of course he caved to her whim.
"Please, Murray would have harped on me all the way to California and you know it" Barb nodded in agreement. Murray was like an overexcited chihuahua. Loud, in your face, and had a hysterical temper. Once you got him going it was difficult to stop him.
"I really wish we could have stayed in Hawkins for a bit. It would have been nice to see people" Chrissy sighed.
"Next time we can Chris, we'll make a whole weekend of it" Y/N loved the idea of Hawkins. Barb, Chrissy, and Vickie always talked about how much they loved growing up there. It was quaint, a town almost stuck in time. Old shops and arcades that have maintained their charm over the decades. It was starkly different than Y/N's childhood, she hated growing up in Athens, California. A neighborhood outside the glitz and glamor of Los Angeles. It was busy and loud, where Hawkins had an ease of peace to it.
"Sure I guess, wish we could do it now instead of later though"
It was as if Chrissy's words bled magic, her will to stay in her hometown manifesting into reality. All of the sudden a loud bang rang out on the back of the bus, the sound nearly deafening. The bus came to a slow stop, the wheezing and hissing of mechanics ringing their ears.
"What the hell was that?" Eden yelled through the curtain of her bus bed.
"I'm not sure, I'll ask Alexei" Vickie skittered out of her seat and raced to to the front of the bus. Y/N looked out the window to see a dense array of trees, the evening sun barely visible through them. It couldn't have been a worse place to stop.
"Oh no, is the bus broken?" Chrissy asked, taking a seat next to Y/N on the bench.
"You might get your wish after all Chris" Y/N could hear Eden groan from behind the curtain. They were all drained from the end of the tour, the follow up interviews, dealing with packing up the bus, everything. It wasn't the best time for a break down, a mechanical one or otherwise.
"Alexei thinks we blew a tire!" Vickie shouted from the head of the bus.
"Christ almighty!" Eden complained. Y/N tried dialing Murray's number, but it went straight to voicemail. The petty bastard silenced his phone. It was her own fault, Murray wasn't stupid. He knew she hung up on him on purpose. Normally that would be a small blessing, but now their tour bus was out of action in the outskirts of Hawkins. It was not the time to be spiteful.
Y/N stood up and walked towards the busses exit. If she didn't step foot off that god forsaken tour bus she knew she would lose her shit. The late summer air was thick with humidity, the smell of burnt rubber flooding her nostrils.
"What's the damage?" Alexei was bent over in front of the large bus tire, a large gaping hole in the front of it. Metal kissed pavement, it didn't take an engineer to know they were fucked.
"It looks like we will not make our destination tonight" Alexei replied. Eden, Chrissy, Barb, and Vickie all shuffled out of the bus to look at the damage, the same look of grief written on all of their faces.
"Great. Just great. What the hell are we supposed to do now?" Eden complained, banging her head on the metal frame of the bus.
"Can't we call Triple A or something? We can't be stuck here all night! What if there are bears or something out here!"
"There are no bears in Hawkins, Chrissy. It's all gonna be okay"
"There are coyotes though"
"Not helpful Vickie" Barb chastised. Chrissy was in a near panic, pacing up and down the road. She was always a gentle soul, soft and demure. When she played drums that persona flew right out the window, pounding away until the wood sticks snapped beneath her fingers. Y/N often teased her about her Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde personality shift, but she kept her mouth shut in the moment. It was clear Chrissy wasn't the only one who was nervous about the situation.
Y/N walked up to where Chrissy was pacing and wrapped her arms around her, comforting the anxious blonde before she spiraled. It was then she noticed a large rusted sign sticking out up the road. Half the letters were missing from it, but the Live Music notice below it was crystal clear.
"Do any of you guys recognize that up ahead?" Y/N asked, taking a step away from Chrissy.
"That's The Hideout. It's an old dive bar" Barb replied.
"Is it any good?" It didn't really matter either way. Dive bars meant booze and cheap food, the live music was just a bonus.
"Wouldn't know, I've never been" It was the perfect distraction. They could all pass the time listening to whatever local band played while they wait for help to arrive. Y/N knew if she step foot on that bus while it was shipwrecked it would totally ruin her night. After months of traveling the walls inside the metal machine felt more like a tomb than a mode of transportation. She was nearly claustrophobic.
"Perfect. Let's go" Y/N began to walk towards the bar before Eden reached out to stop her, the iron grip on her arm halting any chance of movement.
"What if someone recognizes us? Chrissy, Barb, and Vickie are locals. We were just in Indianapolis. It could be more of a headache than just staying here" She made an excellent point. The last thing any of the girls wanted was a media circus, especially with no way to escape it.
"We have those wigs in the car leftover from the shoot in Chicago, we could totally use those! It would be a whole Hannah Montana moment! But backwards!" Chrissy beamed, the panic from earlier replaced with giddy joy.
"Sounds good to me"
The Hideout was like any dive bar in the midwest. It was a little worn, a little dated, but comforting nonetheless. A large U shaped bar crowded with people cut the bar in half, and on the other side by the bathrooms was a small merch stand. There was a small stage set up, instruments on display for the live show. A clearly handmade banner hung above the stage, in spray painted letters it spelled out Corroded Coffin.
"Have you guys heard of this band?" Y/N asked above the noise of the bar. The shots she did in the tour bus making her feel warm and loose. The platinum blonde wig on her head was beginning to itch, she desperately wanted to rip it off. Exposure be damned.
"It sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it!" Vickie shouted.
"Ugh it's driving me nuts! I definitely know them from somewhere! It's right at the tip of my tongue" Chrissy groaned, adjusting her hot pink wig.
The band hadn't entered the stage yet, the crowd at the front of it were all decked out in vintage metal gear. Battle jackets, spikes and pins of classic bands. It was reminded Y/N of when she was a kid, sneaking into concert venues to listen to the music her parents forbade her from. Nostalgia, oh lovely nostalgia.
"I'm gonna get a drink, see you guys in a bit" Y/N walked through the crowd to get to the bar, it had been so long since she had to. When she would go out with the girls, the people would part for them like the red sea, but no one here recognized her. She loved it. To just exist as a normal person, drinking and listening to live music, going back to her roots. When she finally got up to the bar there was a wall of people yelling to get their orders in, all of them towering over her.
'Great. Never gonna get blitzed at this rate' Y/N thought to herself. She felt a soft tap to her shoulder, the hand belonging to a guy she'd assumed would normally never set foot in a place like this.
"Here, take my spot. I'm just getting water anyway"
"Thanks, you're a life saver!" Y/N stepped into his place, the guy stepping away giving her enough personal space.
"No problem, I know how crazy it can get here. The name's Steve" He held his hand out to shake, something she gently returned.
"I'm Y/N. Ya know, if I'm being honest, you don't look like the kind of guy I'd expect to be here" Steve was wearing a polo shirt and a wind breaker, he looked like he shopped at J. Crew, went to private school. Probably drives an Audi or a BMW. That type.
"I get that a lot," Steve chuckled, "this is my friends band. I always come to his shows when I can. I'll be honest, metal isn't my favorite, but he's a cool guy and I like to show my support"
"That's cool. Are they any good?" Y/N said as she held a $20 bill in the air, fastest way to get a bartenders attention.
"Not the best judge of the music, but I think they're really talented. The only metal I've listened to is Daughters of Lilith, but that's only because my best friend Robin is obsessed with them"
Y/N placed her order, barely containing the smirk on her face. Rockstars relish in hearing about people loving their music, always adds a boost to their Jupiter sized egos. Those who don't are either liars or have the humility of Mother Theresa. Y/N was neither.
"Oh yea? Is Robin here tonight?" Get a couple of drinks in her, Y/N would have zero hesitation in exposing her disguise. Especially for a major fan, Murray and the other suits be damned.
"Nah, she couldn't make it. She's at a birthday party. Pretty sure she's listening to the new album now though, she hasn't shut up about since it dropped. Do you listen to them?" The bartender handed Y/N her drink, a captain and ginger. When she took a sip, Y/N quickly realized it was definitely more captain and not so much ginger. Dive bars and their heavy pours.
"Oh yea, I listen to D.O.L all the time. I've followed the band since the beginning" Not technically a lie, not a full truth either.
"Robin's gonna be so bummed out she missed this, she's followed them since the beginning too, I'm sure she'd talk your ear off about them. The only reason I've listened to them was because she wanted someone else to talk to about their music. She did the same thing to our friend Eddie, but he's more into that scene than I am"
"Spreading the metal gospel?" Y/N chuckled, sipping on her drink.
"Oh yea, for sure. She has this massive crush on the guitarist, Vickie too. Robin used to be in band with her back in high school, but she never had the courage to talk to her. Shit, probably shouldn't have said that"
"Trust me, if I had a dollar for every time I said something I shouldn't have I would be richer than King Midas" An idea popped in Y/N's head then. She nabbed the pen from behind the bar and grabbed one of the band's flyers, it was a little wet in the corners but it would get the job done. Steve's back was turned, ordering a glass of water from the bartender. Y/N quickly wrote out a note and signed the bottom, gently sticking into the pocket of his windbreaker. A little something for her band's biggest fan.
The lights in the bar began to dim, shrouding the room in darkness. Cheers erupted from the crowd in front of the stage, the show was about to begin.
"See ya around Steve" Y/N said as she walked away, navigating through the crowd once again. The buzz from cheap liquor flooded her veins, a sense of euphoria firing off the neurons in her brain. When was the last time she went to a show that wasn't her own? To be a face in the crowd instead of the lead on stage? It must have been years. She didn't realize how much she felt the absence of it until she stepped foot inside The Hideout, missed the rush of getting lost in the sea of people, all dancing to the beat of the same drum.
"Shit, there you are! Hurry up the show's about to start! Everyone else is at the front already!" Eden grabbed Y/N's arm and pulled her deep into the crowd, her legs stumbling along like a newborn gazelle. She followed Eden's lead as she steamrolled through the crowd. It was one of the things Y/N loved about her, how she could push her way through anything. Eden was the band's rock, Y/N would be lost without her.
"You made it just in time! The band's about to come out!" Vickie shouted. Eden practically shoved Y/N against the stage barrier, the hard metal digging into her ribs. It was a great spot, off center towards stage left. Y/N was squished in between Eden and Chrissy, a swarm of people behind them. They were all shouting, pushing and prodding to get to the front of the crowd, desperate to get close to the band. Electricity was in the air, a beautiful controlled chaos. Then the members of Corroded Coffin finally walked on stage, it felt like a bolt of lightning struck down through Y/N's spine.
Standing barely six feet in front of her was the most sublime creature Y/N had ever seen. Long limbs dressed in leather and denim, the hands that gripped the B.C. Rich Warlock decorated with thick metal rings. He had a smile that could outshine the beaming lights on the stage, and hair long enough to pull. This man checked every one of Y/N's boxes. She didn't stand a chance.
"I want to have his rockstar babies" Any filter that Y/N had previously possessed was gone with the wind. The booze, the music, the man in front of her, three strikes and she was out.
"What?" Eden yelled over the cheers.
"I said! I want, to have, his rockstar babies!" Y/N screamed in her face, oblivious to the fact that the man himself could hear her. When she turned around she saw him looking straight at her, a wolfish grin on his face. Y/N widened her eyes when he gave her wink, matching the endearing dimple on his flushed cheeks. Done for, she was absolutely done for.
"I'm embarrassed for you" Eden groaned.
"Be embarrassed then. Doesn't make it any less true" Y/N was sure Eden had another oh so clever quip to add, but was interrupted by the screeching sound of the mic reverb.
"Sorry about that, Gareth always fucks up the the mic set up" the man behind the mic teased.
"Fuck off, Jeff" the drummer, Gareth Y/N supposed, replied.
"Love you too man," Jeff began, "anyways, we're Corroded Coffin and we're gonna put on a bitchin' show for y'all tonight. We're gonna start with something all of you should know, if not, why the hell are you guys here? Hit it!"
Y/N instantly recognized the guitar rip, the opening chords to Master of Puppets blasting her ears. If she didn't know any better, she would have thought it was done by James Hetfield himself. The man had an insane amount of talent, too much to be wasted in some old dive bar. His fingers waltzed against the warlock's strings like he had it with him in utero. Y/N was entranced, fully underneath his spell. She had never felt this way before, never felt this moved watching another person play. Not even herself.
Eden watched Y/N gaze at the guitarist on stage with a knowing look in her eye. She knew that by the end of the night, one of three things would happen. One, Y/N would make a damn fool out of herself in front of mystery guy. Two, she'd chicken out and just stare at him while he played. Or three, a locked tour bus and a suspiciously loud speaker playing inside, leaving the rest of them stranded on the road. The last one was very unlikely, for as long as Eden knew her Y/N never hooked up with strangers. A serial monogamist at heart, poor thing. So it was either option one or two, if Eden was gonna bet money on it, she'd go with the first.
It made her miss Argyle all the more, he had left to go back to California halfway through the tour. He was the perfect partner, always attentive to her needs, constantly lending a hand to anyone who needed it, could lighten up a room the moment he entered. Eden wasn't a hopeless romantic, that was all Argyle, but she loved him with everything in her. A part of her wanted that for the rest of her friends too. Chrissy had a bad break up before she left for Los Angeles, some douchebag zealot she dated back in high school. Vickie always mentioned some girl she used to have a crush on back in the day, but never did anything about it. Barb was harder to read. She never mentioned anyone she was interested in, but Eden did notice the eyes she gave Fred Benson during the MTV interview. The same eyes Y/N was giving the guitarist as he played through the set, and if her eyes didn't deceive her, a similar look on Chrissy's face as she watched the drummer, Gary? Gareth. Definitely Gareth. Who knows, maybe Hawkins, Indiana had better luck than Eden previously thought.
"I'm gonna throw my bra on stage" Y/N slurred beside her.
"Don't you dare!" Eden's words fell on deaf ears, especially with Chrissy chanting do it, do it, do it, beside them. Corroded Coffin had just finished up some original work, it was pretty good. A little unpolished, but with the right set up and practice they could tune that right up.
"It's already in motion Lady Eden, can't stop me now. I shall give the fair warlock knight a favour, a token of my appreciation" Y/N replied as she stealthily unhooked her bra beneath her shirt.
"I'm banning you from Medieval Times for the next month"
"Oh, boo" Y/N slipped the black lace fabric off her skin the moment before the band began to play once more. She tossed into the air, the bra taking flight like a bat in the night. The guitarist caught it before he it landed on his face. He looked annoyed at first, as if he was used to people throwing things at him, before he realized what it was. A look of pure excitement consumed him, like a kid getting his favorite toy on Christmas morning.
"Dude, is that a bra?" Jeff voiced into the mic.
"Sure is"
"Can I see?" Eden rolled her eyes, men were so predictable.
"No way man, it's mine now. Probably wont look as good on me as it would on the lady who gave it though" The guitarist attempted to fit his arms through the straps, giggling like a school girl. He quickly gave up the endeavor, his shoulders were too broad for it to fit, deciding to tie it around the strap instead. Y/N looked like she was having a religious experience, Eden wanted to gag.
"Oh my god his voice, I can't, I just can't" Y/N whined, her knuckles gripping the metal barrier as if she would blow away at any moment.
"Y/N, you're like, one of my bestest friends ever, and I say this with all the love in my heart because you're like, the sister I never had, but you seriously need to get laid"
"Chrissy!"
"Am I wrong?"
"Nope" Eden, Vickie, and Barb all replied at the same time.
"Stop killin' my buzz. Let me fantasize in peace!" They all turned back towards the stage, ignoring Y/N's protest. Corroded Coffin started their final encore of the night, it was only a matter of time before Eden found out which of the three options would come into fruition.
As the song came to an end, Eden's phone buzzed in her pocket. She wanted to ignore it, content on enjoying the music, but it kept ringing. Over and over and over again. Whoever it was, was desperate to get ahold of her. With an annoyed groan she pulled out her phone, Murray's face popping up on her lock screen.
Tumblr media
Eden:
Murray?
Murray:
Where the hell are you guys?!
Eden:
A bar.
Murray:
Is that what all the racket is? I can barely hear you!
Eden:
What is it Murray?
Murray:
The tire has been fixed. All of you need to get to the bus pronto, we're late on schedule as is!
Eden:
Oh come on, the set is almost over!
Murray:
Now, young lady!
Eden:
You're not my dad!
Murray:
UGH!!
Murray hung up the phone, leaving Eden alone to deal with the girls. She knew it would be an olympian size tasked getting them all to the bus, especially Y/N, but it needed to be done.
"Bus is fixed. Let's go" Eden grabbed onto Y/N's arm, pulling her away from the barrier.
"Noooo Edy! Come on we can't go yet!" Y/N was whiny when she was drunk, and stubborn as an ox. Something that always tested Eden's paitence.
"Now! Before Murray gets on our asses even more! Chris, give me a hand"
Both girls had to drag Y/N out of the Hideout. She was ranting and raving about wanting to talk to guitar player. About halfway down the road she started waxing poetic about his Bambi eyes and big hands. Eden couldn't wait to get her back on the bus, get back home to Los Angeles. She knew Y/N would be a dragon in the morning, she always was with a hangover. This would be the longest bus ride ever.
In retrospect, Eden should have taken Y/N's phone away when they finally managed to get her to bed. If it weren't for the pure exhaustion that riddled her bones, that's exactly what she would have done. But Eden didn't take Y/N's phone away from her. She left the girl to her own devices, and that mistake lead to one of the biggest social media headaches Daughters of Lilith had ever experienced. Worse than dropping the album early, worse than the time Barb called the former president a fascist, although none of the band members complained about that one.
It was the tweet read around the world, and all hell broke loose.

ok but we all agree that if Eddie were alive right now he would be one of those guys who sees conspiracy theories on the internet or icebergs or photos of cryptids and genuinely believes them

have sum steddie! maybe modern!au, no upside down!au & a meet cute <3
Steve sits in the booth, his foot tapping away mindlessly under the table, with half a mind to abandon the table entirely.
In fact, the only reason he hadn’t yet was because of the $20 he was hanging out for at the end. And the bragging rights, of course.
Robin had set him up on this blind date, plied him with all the promises in the world that he would enjoy it — said she’d spent a decent amount of time hunting for the right first gay date for Steve.
She also conceded that if he, for whatever reason, didn’t enjoy it, she would cough up 20 whole bucks for his wasted time. But he had to actually see the date through for the prize to be claimed.
And the bragging rights were so that Robin — with her uppity, healthy, and happy relationship that Steve was only a little bit envious of — could ease onto the breaks when it came to Steve’s love life.
So it was looking a little bleak at the moment, so what? Every stallion or… lion or whatever had their moments, right? Moments where their mane is a little uncouth and food is low and…. Where was he going with this?
The point was, that Robin got into one relationship and suddenly decided she was fit to become a high and mighty matchmaker. Never mind that Steve had reminded her numerous times that he had dated a lot more than she had.
So, for 20 bucks and the right to stick his tongue out at his best friend when she tried to meddle, Steve could stick one night out.
Besides, she was right about one thing. They weren’t in Hawkins anymore — and San Francisco had a hell of a larger dating pool than his hometown.
Still, that didn’t make people anymore for prompt for dates though, apparently. Steve’s foot taps incessantly under the table, his knee bouncing up and down in his nerves. He runs a hand through his hair and checks his watch again.
7 o’clock, Harvey’s Diner, a cute little Italian place that Steve had begun to frequent since they moved to the city, and a date with a dude called Daniel whom Steve had no idea what he looked like.
This was his Friday night plans.
His watch reads 7:12pm and Steve sighs, his fingers beginning to fiddle with the strap of his watch just for something to do. Great. He had gotten all dressed up for this? To be stood up? How was this any better than his usual Friday night plans that Robin claimed were so pathe—
“Hi.”
Someone sits down in the booth across from Steve, landing with a thump loud enough to give him a fright.
Steve’s head whips up from its focus on fiddling with his watch and— woah. Steve blinks once, twice, and feels his jaw unhinge a little, his lips parting an inch as he gazes at the stranger across from him.
Holy shit, this dude was hot.
He’s got curls for days, dark chocolate ringlets all messy and unkept spilling over his shoulders— long and probably perfect for burying your hands into. Steve flushes a little at the unexpected thought.
He has beautiful brown eyes, widened with a smudge of eyeliner and framed with long lashes. Steve thinks he can spy a smattering of freckles across his forehead. His nose is long and his lips are plush and pink and holy shit, this dude was pretty.
“Oh— hi.” Steve manages to remember his manners. Only after he fully checked this dude out, of course.
God, couldn’t Robin have given him a better warning than just ‘he’s probably your type’? Couldn’t she have warned him that this dude was ‘do-a-double-take-on-the-street type hot?’ What the fuck Robin?
The man across from him grins, wicked and alluring all at once, and shucks off his heavy leather jacket. His eyes do a once-over on Steve, taking his time to check him out— which is great because Steve is stuck on all the glorious tattoos that have just been revealed. So much skin shown in his roughly chopped muscle-tee, swirling ink all down his arms. This dude is hot.
Silently, Steve curses Robin and the 20 dollars that is totally slipping away from him. Why did she have to be right all the time?
“Been waiting long?” The man, Daniel, asks as he makes himself comfortable across the table. He pushes his hair back with both hands, using one hand to gather it into a ponytail, holding it up to air out his neck and Steve now realises he is slightly puffed.
He must’ve run part of the way here, to avoid being later than he was. Steve can’t help but be slightly endeared by that fact.
The man grins again, “Promise I was trying to be on time but, you know how the subway is.”
Steve huffs out a laugh, any annoyance at being kept waiting melting away at his date’s sincerity.
“Not too long,” Steve admits, smiling to ease Daniel’s apparent concern. Across the table, Daniel slumps a little and releases his hair, his curls pooling back around his shoulders. Steve watches, entranced.
“Well, that’s good,” Daniel smiles, eyes bright like he really means it, and his hand darts out to steal the drinks menu from the edge of the table. He looks back over to Steve, a furrow in his brows. “You didn’t order anything?”
“I thought I should wait,” Steve says with a shrug. No point paying for food if your date never shows up.
Daniel looks up from the menu through his lashes and smiles, placing his elbow on the table and dropping his chin in the palm of his hand. “Aw, you’re sweet.”
Steve is a little embarrassed by how easily the compliment makes him blush, feeling his cheeks glow lightly. Across the table, Daniel seems to revel in it, drinking in the way Steve’s face filled with colour with a cheeky smile. His eyes flick back down to the menu.
“You know,” Daniel begins, keeping his eyes on the menu, scanning it with a hum. “Chrissy said you were good looking but I think she seriously undersold you.”
He takes his eyes off the menu to trail up Steve’s body, his gaze heavy. Steve feels a delighted zing go up his spine, feels the way he preens at Daniel’s attraction. Steve opens his mouth to respond, more than ready to return the flirt when—
“Can I get you two started with anything?”
The waitress interrupts. She’s poised with her notepad, standing at the edge of the booth. Daniel perks up and nods.
“Can I get a chocolate milkshake please?” He asks with a polite smile. Steve laughs lightly at his selection and Daniel’s gaze cuts from the waitress to Steve.
“What? Not a milkshake man?”
Steve tries to contain his grin, all too endeared by the man before him. He shakes his head and raises his hand in defense. “Nothing against milkshakes just… for dinner?”
Daniel gasps theatrically and his head snaps back to the waitress. “This man has never had the delight of a Harvey’s milkshake with his dinner. Please bring us two chocolate milkshakes!”
Steve watches as the waitress dutifully writes down the order and turns on her heel, heading for the kitchen. He turns back to his date and gapes, taken aback by the forwardness.
“Did you just order for me?”
“Did you just diss milkshakes?”
Steve scoffs, but even then he can’t stop his lips from curling up into a smile. He can’t believe it but he’s genuinely glad he waited this date out. It's not at all like he was expecting. Even Robin's short description of this dude pales in comparison to the real thing. Steve nudges his foot forward into Daniel’s shin lightly.
“I did not diss milkshakes,” Steve argues, his smile widening at how Daniel’s eyes dart to the table before back up at Steve with a grin.
“Uh huh,” Daniel nods, his voice sarcastic and 100% unbelieving of Steve’s insistence. “Just wait, okay? You’ll be changing your tune soon enough. Harvey’s milkshakes are class. I’ve had a thousand of my best ideas in here, sipping on a chocolate milkshake.”
Steve grins and leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest. Under the table, he feels Daniel’s boot nudge against his leg gently— and he laughs to himself. This has gotta be the most teenage way of flirting and he’s fucking loving it.
“You know,” Steve begins hesitantly, letting his forearms lean up against the table. “You’re not quite what I expected, Daniel.”
Across the table, Daniel scrunches up his face, his expression one of pure befuddlement. He puts his hands flat on the table and leans forward.
“Wait, you think my name is Daniel?”
Steve splutters for a moment because even though the answer is duh, yes, it’s become increasingly apparent that the man across from him is not who he was expecting. But if he’s not Daniel, who is he?
Suddenly, the door chimes and someone else is entering the diner. It’s a man dressed like Steve — on the preppy side with hair that must’ve taken at least an hour. He scans the booth and spots Steve’s booth, wandering over, his eyes fixed on the man across from Steve.
“Hey, are you Eddie?” He asks confidently, ignoring Steve’s presence on the other side of the booth.
The man — Eddie — freezes as he glances up at the newcomer and then back down to Steve ahead of him. Steve deflates a little inside as he realises abruptly what’s happened— a mix-up of wrong dates that was completely warranted because this dude dresses exactly like Steve. Steve doesn't stare too long to see if he's any hotter.
Instead, he tries to give Eddie the all-clear with his eyes. He smiles polite as he can and gives a little nod to let him know it was alright to abandon him for the date he was supposed to go on. Not to get stuck with Steve.
Eddie clears his throat and smiles, not cheeky like he had with Steve, but stiff and polite. “Ah sorry man, I think you’ve got the wrong guy. My name's Daniel.”
Huh? Steve takes his eyes off the table to steal a glimpse at Eddie (is his name even Eddie?) and something inside him burns hotly when the man glances across at Steve and winks.
The man standing by the booth wavers for a moment, glancing between them in the booth as Steve schools his expression to neutral. After a moment of silence, there's a half-assed apology as the man retreats, heading back out the door he had just come through. The door chimes again on his way out.
Steve straightens up and peers over his shoulder, watching the door slowly swing shut. He turns back to the man across the booth and squints at him. The waitress returns briefly, dropping two large chocolate shakes onto the table, topped with a mountain of cream. She murmurs something about coming back to take their order in a moment.
"Wait, so who are you?" Steve asks, gently sliding his shake closer to him. "Daniel or Eddie?"
His date —well, his new date— has already begun taking a big long sip from his own milkshake, so enamored with it that when he pulls away there's a dot of cream on the end of his nose. He swallows with a satisfied ah and grins across the table at Steve, not noticing the dairy on his face.
"I'm whoever gets me talking with you a little bit longer."
Steve grins, an endeared roll of his eye at the blatant flirting but he can't deny how it makes his chest warm. He grabs one of the napkins and reaches forward, adoring how Eddie goes cross-eyed as he watches Steve smudge away the cream on his nose. He laughs sheepishly, giving his nose a little wipe with his own hand.
"I'm Eddie." He says, finally introducing himself. He doesn't offer his hand, just gives Steve a little nudge under the table and a grin over his milkshake. "And I think you just saved me from a terrible date."
Steve laughs, giving a little shake of his head. He finally goes in for a sip of his own milkshake— and it's just as heavenly as Eddie had promised, glorious chocolate dancing over his taste buds.
Steve groans quietly, eyes bright when he glances at the other man over his glass, entirely amused by how wide-eyed Eddie has become. He releases the straw and sits back, more invested in this date than he has been in... years. Stallion's got its mojo back. Or lion. Whatever.
"I'm Steve," He responds, giving a little nudge back under the table and a grin of his own. "And I think you saved me from being stood up."

Modern Steddie AU
“Oh she’s cute.” Robin points over to a table near the bar.
Steve follows her finger and the blonde in the pink pleated skirt is, in fact, very cute. “You should go talk to her.”
Robin gives him a look, “Literally everything about her screams ‘straight’ so no thanks,” she takes a sip of her cocktail, “Don’t feel like getting humiliated today.”
Steve rolls his eyes, “I doubt she’d humiliate you but suit yourself.” He stands and fluffs up his hair a little, “If you won’t, I sure as hell will.”
Before his friend can protest, Steve’s strutting over to the girl’s table. She looks up at him when he stops and leans slightly against the chair opposite from hers.
“Hi!” she greets before he can say anything. Her whole face lights up as she smiles. She’s definitely cute, but not exactly what Steve had in mind for the night.
“Hey,” Steve flashes his own smile, “I was just telling my friend how cute you are and wanted to know if I could maybe buy you a drink?”
Her face goes pink, but her smile falters slightly and a small frown forms. “Oh that’s so nice of you, but I’m actually a lesbian,” she seems genuinely upset at having to break this news to him. “I’m really sorry, you seem lovely.”
Steve’s eyes widen slightly, but his smile remains, “Oh, god, sorry I should have asked,” he laughs, “That’s totally my bad.”
She shakes her head and leans forward in her seat, “Not at all, sweetheart!” there’s a slight southern accent slipping through and her smile is back. “You couldn’t have known, I know I don’t exactly look the part.”
“Well, since I’m already here,” Steve smirks, glancing over his shoulder to where he can see Robin watching the scene unfold. Her eyes snap away once she realizes he’s looking at her. “My friend over there is single and also extremely gay.”
Chrissy looks over and her smile turns coy, “Now she’s cute,” her eyes snap back to Steve. “She’s the one who told you to come over?”
“The opposite, actually. She thought you were straight so, I came over instead.” Steve explains.
Chrissy nods, glances over her shoulder and then stands. “Well, I’ll just have to go over there then.”
Steve smiles, “I’m Steve, by the way.”
“Chrissy.” The blonde extends her hand and Steve shakes it. “Thank you for letting me know the girl I’ve been eyeing is queer.”
Steve gives her a two-finger salute and goes to walk away, but she grabs his wrist to stop him.
“Do you like men, by any chance?” Chrissy asks, her smile alluding to something.
“Is it that obvious?” Steve laughs.
She gives him a once-over, “The tight shirt sort of gave you away.”
“Fair enough. Why do you ask?”
Chrissy points over to a curly-haired guy covered in tattoos, who’s ordering at the bar, “You should go talk to my friend, Eddie, he’s been blabbing about the hot jock in the polo since you walked in.”
Steve swallows, he’d seen the guy when they walked in, but hadn’t allowed himself to look. He was the kind of hot and scary Steve usually avoided due to their usual disdain for preppy guys like Steve. But surely if he kept Chrissy around, he couldn’t be all bad.
“I don’t exactly seem like his type.” Steve points out, giving Chrissy a nervous glance.
She laughs, “Oh please, pretty boy with big eyes and a great body? You’re everyone’s type.”
“Not yours.”
“Trust me honey, if you were a masc lesbian I’d be all over you right about now.” Chrissy winks and Steve can feel his face heating up.
“I don’t want to bother him…”
Chrissy rolls her eyes, “Just use the same line you used on me, he doesn’t bite.” she pauses, “Unless you ask really nicely.”
Yeah she isn’t exactly easing his nerves with these little jabs.
“He looks like he carries a knife.” Steve’s just stalling at this point.
“I know he seems kinda mean and scary, but he’s really just a big ol’ softie, trust me,” she pats his shoulder, picks up her drink and starts walking towards Robin, “Now I’ve got a pretty lady to talk to, so get! Go make a move on the scary metalhead, Steve!”
Steve watches her go, his amusement growing at the sight of Robin’s panic when Chrissy plops down at their table.
Mustering up the courage to walk to the bar, he turns but immediately bumps into someone. The person manages to steady their drink and somehow prevent Steve from falling on his ass, grabbing him around the waist.
“Shit sorry!” Steve finds his footing, only to nearly lose it again when he looks up to find his face a few inches away from the aforementioned friend of Chrissy’s.
Eddie smiles, squeezes Steve’s waist once before releasing him, “Don’t sweat it, sweetheart.”
Steve’s face must have been bloodshot at that point. Two people had called him sweetheart within the span of a few minutes. At this rate his brain was going to malfunction entirely.
Eddie studies him for a second, his eyes twinkling, before looking over to the now unoccupied table. He frowns, looking around the bar.
“She’s over there.” Steve points to where the two girls are deep in conversation.
Eddie’s eyes look from Steve to Chrissy and back again. “Were you heading back there?”
“Uh, no, actually,” Steve clears his throat. Why was it so hot all of the sudden? “I was told to go talk to the scary metalhead?”
Eddie’s grin returned, showing off his dimples. Steve was allowing himself to stare at the man now, and god was he stunning.
“Scary? That’s rich coming from the girl who literally carries a knife with her.” Eddie sits down at the table and looks at Steve expectantly, “I don’t bite,” he gestures for him to sit, so he does.
“Apparently you do if I ask nicely,” Steve says, then feels his face heat up again when he hears what he said.
Eddie laughs, loud and beautiful, “God, she really knows how to play wingman, huh?”

💜💜💜
Everyone in the posh gated community of Forest Hills knew about 1405 Peach Tree Lane.
The house was beautiful, as were all the houses in the upper-crust neighborhood- but the house wasn’t what people paid attention to.
Every housewife in the neighborhood knew that if they were lucky and timed their morning jog just right, they’d catch a glimpse of the toned, inked-up adonis who lived there while he shirtlessly mowed his lush green lawn.
You might not have done much speaking with the housewives in your parents’ neighborhood, but you knew about 1405 Peach Tree Lane- you had a perfect view of its front lawn from your lounge chair by the pool in your parents’ backyard. Luckily for you, all that separated your backyard from 1405 was a short wrought iron fence and a narrow stretch of road.
You didn’t mind living with your parents during the summers you spent home from college; they gave you plenty of freedom and while they were at work during the day, you got to spend the afternoon lounging by the pool, reading a book and soaking up the sun.
As well as soaking up the view of the way that same sunlight glinted off Mr. 1405’s sweaty, ink-riddled skin.
You didn’t speak to him- what would you even say? “Hi, it’s nice to meet you, my favorite part of the day is guessing what your tattoos mean.”? Or maybe, “Hey there neighbor, mind if I count the freckles on your shoulders? It’s for science.”
Eventually, the inevitable happened- he caught you staring.
He didn’t make it awkward, though. In fact, from the way he simply smiled and waved at you, you wondered if he thought your eyes meeting him had just been a coincidence, and you hadn’t been ogling him for the past thirty minutes and some change. You’d smiled back, thankful for your huge sunglasses that hid the way your eyes had widened under his attention, and waved in return.
An even bigger surprise had been that he spoke to you this time.
“That book any good?”
His voice, heavy with labored breathing under the exhaustion from finishing up his lawn work, had caught you completely off guard. You’d laughed nervously, sticking your bookmark between the pages and pushing yourself up from your face-down position on the flattened lounge chair.
“Oh! Ah-ha, uhm, yeah!” you shifted your weight back until you were sitting on spread knees and looking up at the source of the voice. On the other side of your parents’ fence stood Mr. 1405 Peach Tree Lane, sweaty and slightly sunburned on the tops of his shoulders. His curly brown hair had been piled into a messy knot atop his head, and you took note of the details that you hadn’t noticed from far away- a smattering of silver studs that decorated his ears, along with one on his nose. Five o’clock shadow that dusted his jawline. A more detailed view of his tattoos, some of which looked older than others but all of which looked very, very sexy on this man who had so much sex appeal already.
The crinkling of his plastic water bottle as he squeezed about half of it into his mouth filled the silence between you. After a loud gulp he piped up again.
“What’s it about?”
Your brow wrinkled confusedly before you remembered that he had just asked you about your book. “Oh!” you replied dumbly, looking down at the book as if you had completely forgotten that books even existed- looking at him had taken up your entire mental capacity, apparently. “It’s, uh, it’s a memoir! It’s this cool old lady’s life story, she does not hold back, so the narration is pretty hilarious a lot of the time.”
The inked-up Greek god smiled and nodded, eyebrows raising in interest. “That does sound good.” he mused, and his voice took on a slyer tone when he added, “What’s your definition of old, like thirty-five?” He chuckled as if he’d just told a funny joke, but your smile had all but fallen from your face.
“That’s not old,” you replied, not taking the joke, “This author was in her late seventies when she published this book, but even with that being said, this book is just told through such a youthful spirit- it’s easy to forget how old the author is when looking at her words.” You gripped the paperback a little tighter in your sweaty hands. “Plus, old people definitely don’t have the energy to mow their own lawns, and I have a feeling you’re not thirty-five.”
That seemed to catch him off-guard. A surprised laugh escaped him, exploding from his lips before they formed an intrigued grin and his arms crossed over his tattooed chest.
“Oh yeah? How old do I look, then?”
You grinned back, making a show of removing your sunglasses so that you could peer at him with greater focus. “Hmmmmmm…thirty-six?”
Another laugh, this one heartier than the last. “You flatter me, sweetheart.”
God, his voice is like brown sugar.
You tried again. “Forty, then.”
“Older.”
“No way.”
His grin became a smirk. “Are you patronizing me right now?”
You threw up a girl scout salute. “Scout’s honor, I would never.”
He chuckled. “Well, girl scout, I’ll be forty-five next month.”
“I’ll be sure to warn my parents about the rager you’ll be throwing.”
He peered up at your house behind you, like he just now noticed its- and your parents’- existence. “Nah,” he said, “No ragers for me, that ship sailed when I was your age.”
You smiled sweetly, placing your sunglasses atop your head. “At least let me bake you a cake, then, wouldn’t be neighborly to let you have a boring birthday.”
“You’d bake a cake for ‘lil old me, sweetheart?” His tattooed hand splayed over his heart, sweaty and shining in the blaring afternoon sun.
You giggled. You could get used to Mr. 1405 calling you ‘sweetheart’.
“Sure thing, just tell me what name to write in between ‘happy birthday’ and ‘forever young’.”
A flash of dazzling white teeth replied, “Eddie. Eddie Munson.”
That was when you rose a step above the housewives of Forest Hills- to them, he was still Mr. 1405, but to you? He was Eddie Munson.
You entertained yourselves with little conversations here and there whenever Eddie worked out on his lawn. You, always in a swimsuit and him, never wearing a shirt. You would ask him about his tattoos- what they symbolized, which ones he’d drawn himself before they were replicated on his flesh. He would ask you about what you were reading- it was always changing. Sometimes nonfiction, sometimes romance, fantasy, lit fic… he seemed impressed by your insatiable reading habits.
One day, however, he’d been particularly interested in a book whose cover bore a bare-chested  gentleman and particularly busty woman in a corset.
“What’s today’s read, girl scout?” Eddie had greeted you with a nod toward the obviously risque reading material and a knowing smirk as he let his arms dangle over the black bars of your fence.
You looked up, glowing from the sweat that’s gathered on your dewy summer skin and smiled tightly. “Oh, just a period romance. Ball gowns, forbidden love, the scandalous touching of hands without gloves on- things like that.”
“From the looks of that cover, I don’t think their hands are the only naked body parts touching in that story.”
You laughed, glancing at the cover as Eddie waggled his eyebrows. “You’re probably right, but who knows? I’m only on the second chapter. I’ll keep you posted though.” you punctuated that last part with a wink.
“Oh please do, princess,” Eddie said with a wolfish grin. “I love a good smutty romance novel.”
You gawked. “No way you read this shit, you’re bluffing.”
Eddie raised a hand as if swearing on a bible. “Scout’s honor.” he said, mimicking your swear from the day you’d met.
You shook your head, smiling ear to ear. “You must be the first man I’ve met who openly admits to reading smut, and I respect that.”
Eddie shrugged. “Easiest way to know what women want- they’re literally writing me an instruction manual. It’d be stupid not to read them.”
You bit your bottom lip before you could stop yourself, making a mental note of that little tidbit of information. “And you enjoy them?”
“It’s porn, sweetheart,” he said, gazing at you incredulously. “Who wouldn’t enjoy it?”
“It’s porn with a plot.”
“I’m a sucker for a good plot, especially if the plot involves sucking.”
You barked out a laugh. “And one could also argue that it’s more emotional porn than physical.”
“Are you insinuating that I don’t have a heart? Because I’ve got one, princess, and it bleeds, it yearns-”
Eddie pantomimed grasping at his own heart in his chest, putting on a fucking one-man show as he hung onto the fence for dear life as if his heart were truly bleeding out. You laughed- that was something that seemed to happen more when Eddie was around- you laughed more than usual, so much that you found your cheeks aching whenever he walked away.
This time, something else ached as you watched him return to his lawn. As you continued to read, you were acutely aware of the heat between your thighs, the wetness that accumulated as you pictured corseted girls and muscled viscounts making eyes at each other across a sea of dancing courtiers. You imagined yourself, cornered in a rich rose garden bathed in moonlight, struggling to stifle your moans as a man in a tailcoat left a mark on your neck. You felt his hand hiking up your layers of petticoats until it reached your thigh, the only thing separating skin from skin being the white fabric of his gloves. You pictured his eyes, brown and bottomless as he moaned at the feeling of your hands tangled and tugging on his soft brown curls-
Uh oh.
You took a deep breath, bookmarked your page, and slipped into the cold water of the pool. You sincerely hoped that Eddie hadn’t been serious about an update on the smut in your novel; you didn’t exactly want to let slip that at some point, you’d stopped picturing the viscount and started picturing him.
But would he mind? Would he be upset to know that you’d pictured his hands on you, his lips on your pulse, your fingers in his hair?
You weren’t sure he would.
In fact, you had a feeling he might actually picture you in situations that weren’t too different. After all, you weren’t blind- you’d noticed the way his eyes would flit down from your face when the two of you were talking. He didn’t seem to put much effort into hiding his once-overs, his raking gaze that seemed more than pleased by the way your swimsuits hugged your curves, pulled your cleavage together, cut higher on your hip than your shorts ever would. Whenever you pulled yourself up from lying on your stomach, you’d seen how his eyes followed your ass hungrily as it left his line of sight.
That was the moment that you realized- Eddie Munson, more than likely, wanted to fuck you.
And you definitely wanted to fuck him.
So the next time he came over to see you after mowing his lawn, you offered him a beer.
“I’m already halfway through mine,” you said, leaning back to give him a full view of the way the sweat on your breasts shone in the hot sun. “don’t make me day drink alone.”
A salacious grin curled on his plush pink lips. “I could be tempted,” Eddie peered at the cooler beside you. “What are you drinking, sweetheart?”
You opened the cooler so that he could see the six pack of light lagers in shiny green bottles. Eddie wrinkled his nose distastefully. “Alright, young padawan,” he sighed, unlatching the gate to your backyard. “It’s time you learned your first lesson from Master Munson.” He didn’t enter the backyard, simply opened the gate and waited for you to join him outside your parents’ property.
You quirked an eyebrow; this was new territory. That wrought iron fence had always served as a sort of barrier between the two of you, never occupying the same space and keeping each other at arm’s length- flirty banter, but with boundaries.
Now, you smiled shrewdly as you slipped on your flip flops and crossed the threshold into Eddie’s space, following him across the narrow street to his driveway.
“Oh so I’m your student now, Master?” you quipped, launching him into a dark chuckle and a shake of his curls.
“Christ,” he cursed under his breath low enough that he probably thought you hadn’t heard- but you did. “Well, your college friends are obviously shitty teachers if your drink of choice is a basic ass bottle you can grab at the goddamn gas station.”
You scoffed, “Oh, what- are you trying to say you’re one of those pretentious beer snobs who only drinks micro-brewed IPA’s named after bad puns?”
Eddie laughed out loud, smiling ear to ear at you over his shoulder. “Oh that’s exactly what I am, princess!” The harsh sunlight finally relented as the two of you crossed into Eddie’s garage, and you followed him in a beeline to the old refrigerator in the corner opposite from his impressive-looking toolbench.
You nearly moaned with relief when the cool air from the fridge hit you as Eddie opened the door and grabbed a couple of unmarked silver cans from the middle shelf. You eyed them cautiously, which Eddie saw and snorted at when he saw your expression. “Not poisoning you, sweetheart, no need to worry.” He opened a door beside the fridge that you guessed- judging by what you could see past the doorway- led to his kitchen. “A friend of mine is a home-brewer, he gives these to me and the guys for free. Way better than any cookie-cutter shit you’ll find at a college party.” He held the door open for you, nodding his head toward the doorway. “You coming inside? It’s hot as hell out here.”
You hadn’t expected him to invite you into his home; it occurred to you suddenly that you were still only wearing your swimsuit. Smiling shyly, you stepped through the doorway, the chill of the air conditioning rolling goosebumps over your damp skin. Eddie stepped into the kitchen and immediately began opening the cans, handing one to you.
You eyed the can cautiously, raising an eyebrow at him. “Do I want to know what I’m about to drink?’
He smiled mischievously, inclining his head toward you as he held his can aloft. “First lesson, padawan- trust your master.” He tilted the can in your direction, to which you sighed and tapped your can to his.
Your eyes widened in surprise when the cold, bubbly liquid hit your lips. It wasn’t anything like you were expecting- instead of the tepid wheaty taste that you were used to. At first the drink was tart, but after a second it faded into a fruity dryness that reminded you of white wine. Its  flavor was so light that you couldn’t even tell you were drinking beer.
“This is beer?”
Eddie chuckled. “Technically it’s a sour, but yes- it’s a type of beer. Dustin said it was a champagne sour, so if you like wine then hopefully this’d be up your alley.”
You smiled as you took your second sip. “I do like wine.” you murmured, testing the flavors on your tongue. “Like this, too. Your friend ever think about selling what he brews?”
“Dustin?” Eddie asked, laughing as if the question were something funny. “Oh I have no doubt he’ll try to sell it one day, but he’s not going to even think about it until he knows he’s perfected his recipe.”
As you took another sip of the cold drink, you felt another wave of goosebumps run through you. Coincidentally, this was the moment that Eddie fell perfectly silent. You peered over your can- his eyes were fixed on your chest. You became acutely aware that the goosebumps had resulted in your nipples growing so hard, you thought if something-anything- were to accidentally brush against them, you might moan from the sensitivity.
Stifling a smirk, you shivered and hugged your upper arms. “Brrrrr it’s cold in here!” you said coyly, “I guess my body temperature got a little too used to the heat.”
Eddie’s chest heaved slightly at the way your tits bounced and squeezed together when you shivered. He cleared his throat, looking down at the beer can in his hand for a moment. “I’ve got a hot tub, you know,” He spoke up, peering at you to gauge your reaction. “Downstairs. You’re welcome to it.”
You took another sip. “Only if you join me.”
His dark eyes snapped up to yours, lips curling up at one corner. “Yes ma’am.” he said, his voice lowered an octave and a bit huskier than before. You held his eye contact, mirroring his lopsided grin with a charged, heavy-lidded gaze.
Eddie led you to a staircase down the hall and said he’d be right back with a towel for you after he changed into swim trunks.
“Aw, no speedo?” you smirked. Eddie appeared unphased. “Mental note,” he murmured to himself, “the princess is eager to see my thighs.”
You giggled, “There might be more tattoos there I haven’t seen yet,” you countered, “How am I supposed to keep figuring you out if I don’t know the meaning of each and every one?”
Eddie placed his forearm above your head on the wall, leaning into it until he was close enough for you to feel his breath on your hairline. “You know, you seem to spend a lot of time staring at my body, kid-” You bristled at his blatant omission of the nicknames you liked. “-I’m starting to feel objectified.”
You forced the smile from your face, looking up at him defiantly. “I could say the same thing about you, Mr. Munson,” you replied, “-and I’m not a ‘kid’.”
His position didn’t change as his eyes raked over your nearly naked body, drifting from your eyes to your lips and catching on your cleavage. “Don’t I know it, sweetheart.” he whispered, before pushing off the wall. “Hot tub’s already heated, just push off the cover and hit the green button. I’ll be down in a sec.”
And then he was walking down the hall to what you could only assume was his bedroom. For a moment, you thought about following him… but if you were honest with yourself, you were actually pretty curious about this hot tub. So down the stairs you went, carrying a silver can of sour in each hand.
Eddie’s basement was cozy, but he had utilized the space to its full potential. The majority had been filled with workout equipment to create a home gym, the walls lined with floor to ceiling mirrors that created the illusion of a larger space than it actually was. Sitting on stylish wooden slats was the hot tub, topped with a brown leather cover. To the right of the hot tub was a door with a small window that was just at your eye level. Upon closer inspection… yep, that was a sauna. Eddie had a sauna.
Shaking your head in disbelief, you made a mental note to ask Eddie what he did for a living- as far as you could tell, he was the only one who lived here. How did a single guy in his forties have so much money to burn?
Placing yours and Eddie’s drinks down on a nearby surface, you removed the cover from the hot tub and pressed the green button as Eddie had instructed, and settled into the hot, bubbling water. God, it was relaxing. Just then, you heard footsteps descending the stairs.
Eddie appeared, his hair let down from his normal messy bun so that it fell in dark chocolate curls that cascaded over his shoulders. His swim trunks, simple and black with little white skulls lining the cuffs above his knees, hugged his thighs in a way that made you salivate. Tattoos you'd become all too familiar with danced across his skin, and you suddenly felt the need to taste them.
Eddie smirked when he saw you getting an eyeful without even trying to hide it. “How’s the water?”
You hummed, relaxing further into jets against your back. “Sooooooo nice.” You sighed.
Eddie climbed into the hot tub to join you, making you squeal as he practically fell into the water, splashing you as he submerged his head just enough to wet his hair and shake it out like a golden retriever.
You giggled, doing your best to ensure that your hair wasn’t wet enough to make you look like a wet rat. “I’m starting to think you’re a teenage boy trapped in the body of a middle-aged man.”
Eddie narrowed his eyes at you, tattooed arms stretching out over the edges of the tub as he relaxed into the seat across from you. “Hey now,” he said, voice laced with warning. “Careful with the term middle-aged there, kiddo.”
You matched his gaze, challenging. “Kiddo?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Eddie’s gaze was heavy, cocky as he looked down his nose at you. “Practically a baby.”
You grinned. “That one, I don’t mind.”
Eddie’s smile grew in tandem. “Oh, she likes to be ‘baby’, but not ‘kiddo’, huh?”
You leaned back into the water, looking up at the ceiling with a smug smile on your lips. “That’s right, grandpa.”
Suddenly, you felt a tug on your ankle and you were underwater. You emerged, spitting chlorine out of your mouth, struggling to force it from your nose as Eddie’s cackling rang in your ears. You gasped, sputtering in shock as you tried to catch your breath.
“You are a child!” you squealed as he tugged your ankle again- you hadn’t noticed his hold still grasping tightly- not forceful enough to bring you back under the surface but enough to remind you that he could.
“So not a grandpa, then?” Eddie teased, stroking the curve of your ankle with his thumb.
You gritted your teeth together, strategizing. “No, that would be too kind. You’ve got the maturity of a teenager. Luckily for me-”
Using Eddie’s grip on your ankle as leverage, you forcefully pulled yourself forward by your leg and launched yourself right into his lap, bending your knees so that a second later, you were straddling him.
You watched triumphantly as Eddie’s eyes widened, looking up at you with breath that hitched in his throat as you finished your sentence.
“-I know how boys like you think.”
The humor between the two of you dissipated in that instant, Eddie’s eyes blown wide and dark as he watched the way the water in your hair dripped down your neck and between your breasts, which were now inches from his face. If he leaned forward, he could catch that bead of water with his tongue. If he reached up, he could hold your tits in his hands, test their weight. Press them up, squish them together, squeeze…
You felt him growing hard beneath you, and smirked triumphantly. “See?” You said smugly, grinding against him teasingly. “Right on schedule.”
Eddie chuckled, his breathing strained as he shook his head exasperatedly. “Got me all figured out, do you princess?”
You nodded, finding your rhythm as you continued to grind against his hardening cock through his swim trunks. “I think I’m starting to.”
You shivered despite the warmth as Eddie trailed his hand from your ankle up your leg, your hip, your waist…finally resting at the apex of your sternum to splay across your neck. You hadn’t been expecting that- you faltered, breath hitching as he tested out a gentle squeeze and hummed to himself.
“Mmmmm…” He looked you over with passive attention, taking account of the way your eyes widened and your pulse quickened under his thumb. “...you know, I’m starting to figure you out too.” His other hand cupped your hip, pulling you to sit directly on his erection and holding you in place so you couldn’t grind. “You’re used to getting away with shit you know you shouldn’t do, isn’t that right, baby?” You sighed softly in response, pinned into place by his lust-blown eyes. You balanced on a precipice- on one side, obedience, which you knew would satisfy him. On the other, eventual obedience with a little bit more fight; more of a gamble, but you were willing to bet that he would enjoy that best.
“You really thought you could eye-fuck me every damn afternoon,” Eddie said, his hand on your neck moving lower to fondle one of your breasts over your swimsuit. “-and there wouldn’t be consequences?”
You breathed heavily, chest rising and falling under his hand. “I mean…” you drawled, still smiling smugly despite his authoritative tone of voice. “...I was kinda hoping for consequences.” you brought both hands out of the water, gesturing vaguely to the room around you. “I’m here, aren’t I?”
A second passed before Eddie’s hands suddenly grabbed both of your wrists, forcing them behind your back. You gasped, cheeks hot from the water and the position you were in, straddling his lap with both shoulders shoved back to force your breasts front and center. He saw the look in your eyes and leaned forward, lips brushing the shell of your ear.
“I can get rough sometimes, baby.” he said, voice low and husky. “Tell me it’s too much at any point and I’ll stop, okay?” You nodded, a shy little mm-hm escaping your bitten lips. Eddie crossed your wrists over each other, holding them behind your back with one hand as his newly free one reached up to caress your cheek.
“Fucking Christ, you’re cute.” he mumbled. “Cute little baby, all alone in her parents’ big house all day, so bored she had to go and be a slut for the neighbor. That right, baby?”
Your eyes were wide and wet, mouth opened in a slight pout as you ground your freed hips on his hard cock once again, whimpering needily. You nodded your head up and down, eager to hear more filthy words tumble from his lips.
Eddie wasn’t satisfied with that. A hand came up to grasp your hair at the base of your neck, tugging on it firmly but not painfully to force your head to nod up and down emphatically. “Use your words, baby, say ‘yes, daddy, I was a slut.’”
You gasped, surprised. You’d never called anyone daddy besides your actual father, and you’d certainly never called anyone that in the bedroom- or a hot tub, for that matter. However, his brazen demand that you call him that while you straddled him like this sent rolling waves of pleasure straight to the apex of your thighs.
“Y-yes… daddy…” You struggled against your instinct to be embarrassed, arching your back against your restrained hands and looking down shyly at your cleavage. “...I was a slut.”
“Look at me.”
Your eyes flicked up to his, wide and obedient. He was smiling at you, beaming with pride and adoration. His hand slid from your hair to the back of your neck, pulling your face to his. “Good girl, baby.” he praised, “I’m gonna kiss you, is that okay?”
You nodded eagerly. “Yes, please!”
That earned you a chuckle. “So polite, baby girl, good job.”
Eddie’s lips felt like the most comforting thing that a person could feel on their skin. His kiss felt like fresh sheets still warm from the dryer. His tongue was like a strawberry that was perfectly ripe, sweet and wet and a rush of relief. He explored you, he learned you, his lips devoured all they could reach and whenever they couldn’t reach, his tongue took over to fill in the blanks.
As you whimpered and squirmed in his lap, Eddie cooed, “What’s the matter, baby, something wrong with your legs?”
You shook your head, moaning into his mouth. “I need something on my clit, Eddie.”
“Something? You’ll just take anything on that clit baby? Is that what you're saying?”
You panted, straining against his rock hard dick for some kind of friction. He was right, you would take anything. “Yes, please touch me, Eddie.”
He made no move to do so, only looking at you pointedly with his eyebrows raised. When you realized your mistake, you corrected, “Please touch me, daddy.”
He smiled smugly, a cat watching a mouse. “Good girl,” he praised, “but I’m not sure you’ve earned that.”
Your face fell, eyes going wide as your lips formed a full-on pout. “But-” you began to stutter, but Eddie wasn’t finished.
He let go of you, pushing you gently off you and guiding you under the water to one of the seats in the corner of the tub. The jets coming off it were strong, nearly too much on your back as you turned to sit, but Eddie stopped you before you could settle into the seat.
“Princess, I want you to keep your knees open and ride your pussy on that jet stream until you cum.”
Your jaw dropped open. Whipping your chin over your shoulder to look at him in his seat opposite you, you stared and waited for him to specify or maybe apologize for misspeaking- there’s no way you heard him right. But then he repeated himself, and you realized that yes, you had.
“Press your pussy up against that jet stream under the water, and make yourself cum. Don’t use your hands. Don’t rush. I want you to fall apart in my hot tub, and I’m going to stroke my dick while I watch you do it. That okay, sweetheart?”
You were learning a lot of new information about your neighbor today.
You smiled devilishly over your shoulder at him, taking in the sight of him lounging in the opposite corner of the tub as he took in the sight of you. “You’re a kinky motherfucker, aren’t you?”
Eddie reached across the tub and wound an arm around your waist, pulling you in for a quick but heated kiss. “Yeah, I am.” he murmured into your lips before pushing you back toward the jets. “Now make yourself cum, I want you tight.”
He laughed at the pathetic little whimper that you let slip involuntarily as you situated yourself against the jet stream. You balanced your weight on your knees, spreading your legs enough to open your pussy further inside your swimsuit. Once the pulsing stream of water made contact with your clit, your automatic impulse was to flinch away; the stream was strong, almost too strong. However, with a little shifting and repositioning, you eventually found an angle that pulled a moan from your mouth that sounded almost pornographic.
“That’s it, baby girl,” you heard Eddie’s rough voice behind you, and you couldn’t help but sneak a peak over your shoulder at him. Eddie sat with legs spread open and one arm slung over the lip of the tub, his other hand palming the erection you knew was only growing harder over his swim trunks. This told you he was a patient man, a man who liked to be teased a little before taking what he wanted. A man who liked to play with his food before he ate it.
You could play, too.
You pulled your eyebrows together, pouting your lips the way you’d seen him react to earlier. “Am I doing it right for you, daddy?” You moved your hips up and down against the jet, putting on a little show for him.
Eddie raised a brow, amused. “I don’t think I can answer that question for you, sweetheart.” he said, sighing heavily with pleasure as he tilted his head this way and that to take you in from every angle. “Don’t worry about me, baby, just make yourself feel good.”
You smiled shyly, nodding in response and turning your attention back to the jets. You maneuvered your hips against them, grinding on the strong jetstream as it hit your clit at angles that you didn’t even know existed. You lost yourself in the sensation, letting your eyes fall closed and humming little sounds to yourself as your heart rate picked up, that familiar pleasure bubbling up in your lower belly  as your movements grew faster and more desperate.
Eager to see if Eddie was enjoying himself as much as you were, you glanced over your shoulder to look at him. What you saw was breathtaking- Eddie, his wet curls clinging to his dewy skin, muscles flexing under his tattoos as he fisted his cock underwater. You couldn’t see it clearly due to the raging bubbles, but the flesh-colored underwater blur was enough for you to know exactly what he was doing. You had known he would jack off to you- he’d outright told you he planned to- but seeing it was enough to turn you on so much that it became the thing that pushed you over the edge.
“Daddy, I’m cumming!”
You moaned, mouth hanging open as you rode out your orgasm against the harsh stream of the jets, overwhelmed and overstimulated by the physical feeling and the intense eye contact that you held with Eddie the entire time as your body gyrated and spasmed. He watched you with hungry eyes, lapping up the scene in its entirety and committing every second to memory.
“Good girl, good fucking girl, keep fucking that jet, baby.”
You whimpered, hips jerking away from the stream as it hit your clit at an angle that was a little too intense, and your limp, still-needy body floated over to Eddie. He chuckled, still stroking his cock lightly in the warm water. “Aw, I’m sorry baby, was that too much?”
You shook your head, still eager for him- he’d barely even touched you, and yet you were so desperate for this man. “No, I can take more.”
His eyes had a darkness to them that made your breath hitch. “How much can you take, sweetheart?”
You moved to straddle your knees on either side of one of his thighs, not close enough to grind against his cock, but certainly in a perfect position to rub your pussy along his leg, teasing him. “I’ll take whatever you wanna give me, daddy.”
A low groan sounded from deep in Eddie’s chest. “You might regret saying that one, babe.”
You couldn’t resist matching his warning with a challenge. “Bring it on.” you said sweetly, and it incited a little chuckle in him. He reached back and pressed a button on the hot tub, causing all of the bubbles to stop.
“Get out, dry off.” he said, nodding to the neatly folded towels he’d placed beside the hot tub. “You look like you could use a shower.”
You stayed put, confused. “You… but…”
He cut you off, cupping his wet hands against your face. You could feel the pads of his fingers on your cheeks, wrinkled from prolonged time under the water’s surface. “Sorry, sweetheart, I forgot you don’t like following instructions unless you know you’re getting something out of it.” You scoffed at his condescending tone, but all he did was smile. “What I meant to say was- get out. Dry off. I’m going to fuck you in my shower. Mmkay?”
Your eyes widened, excited by his words and elated by a strange submissive, post-orgasmic euphoria. “Okay.” you replied, but when you saw his testy look in response you quickly amended, “Okay daddy.”
“Good girl.”
The two of you dried off before heading back upstairs. Eddie let you down the hall to his bedroom, which you were sure was filled with so many interesting mementos on the walls that you were sure it would take you hours to study all of it. The first thing to catch your eye was the golden record, framed and mounted beside his dresser. When Eddie saw you looking at it, he supplied an answer without waiting for you to ask.
“Ever heard of a band called Corroded Coffin?”
You searched your brain but came up empty. “No, I don’t think I have.”
Eddie chuckled to himself, like you’d just participated in a joke you weren’t in on. “Most people haven’t. But I bet you’ve heard the song Upside Down on the radio, yeah?” He hummed a couple bars of the chorus, which you recognized instantly.
“Oh yeah! I love that song!”
Eddie grinned. “‘Preciate it, babe.”
Shocked, you glanced up at the record and back to him. “Wait, you wrote that song?”
He shrugged as if to brush it off, but you could tell he was proud. “It was a group effort, my band and I wrote and recorded it together. After that, though, when the offers for record deals and tours and shit started pouring in, it became clear to most of the band members that this wasn’t what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives- band broke up on good terms, we just had some differences when it came to future plans.” He reached up and stroked the frame affectionately with his thumb. “But one-hit-wonder money was still enough to get my name out there, make some smart investments. I’m a music producer now.”
So that’s how he made all this money. The big empty house made sense now. “That’s pretty cool, actually.” you said, smiling at Eddie. You relished the sensation of his hands as they slid around your waist.
“You wanna see something even cooler?”
Before you could answer, Eddie was scooping you up into his arms and tossing you over his shoulder. You squealed, laughing as his palm hit your ass cheek with a loud smack! He carried you into his bathroom, placing you on his vanity counter before kissing the laughing smile right off your face. You felt his hands as they worked your bathing suit off you, freeing your breasts from the confines of the damp fabric. Eddie wasted no time, pulling one of your tits into his hand and encircling your nipple with his mouth, sucking sensually. You moaned, hands fisting into his hair. He only left your skin to turn around and turn on the shower, giving the water a chance to heat up.
Once the bathroom had sufficiently filled with steam, Eddie picked you up from the counter, pulling your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck. You kissed him greedily, wetly, and hungrily as he walked the two of you into his spacious tiled shower, which was larger than your dorm room closet back at school.
You relaxed your legs around him in a silent ask for Eddie to put you down, which he obliged. The moment your feet hit the wet tiled floor, you began to sink to your knees until…
You snorted.
“Why do you still have your swim trunks on?”
Eddie had taken the time to take off your bathing suit, but you hadn’t even realized that even after carrying you into the shower, he hadn’t even taken a second to undress himself.
He looked down, noticing this for the first time, same as you. “I, uh… I don’t know. I was-” he flashed you a smirk that was equal parts embarrassed and sexy. “-preoccupied, I guess.”
You couldn’t help but laugh as you knelt before him, now eye-level with the drawstring of his swim trunks. “Well let me fix that, then.” you said softly, working your delicate fingers into the waistband and pulling his trunks down until they hit the floor.
God. He was a sight to behold. And you were right, he did have thigh tattoos. They were large, twisting images of hellish creatures, undoubtedly older but still in good shape since- judging by the paleness of the skin they decorated- they probably never saw the light of day.
You reached up, lightly tracing them as you turned your gaze to his cock. It was at full mast, eager and waiting for your mouth to encircle it and, hopefully, make Eddie moan your name.
Which he did.
The way your lips covered the head of his cock, the way your tongue generously licked the shaft under, over, around, the way your hands were warm and welcoming as they lightly played with his balls- all of it made him moan, gasp, groan your name. He called you baby, called you princess, moaned and pulled your hair as he fucked your mouth, and you just about burst into flames when he shoved his cock so far down your throat that you swallowed on it accidentally, pulling a growled “Goddamnit, sweetheart, fuck-” from his lips.
When he pulled you off his dick by your hair, his eyes were humorless and hungry. He crouched down, leveling your eyes under the hot water from the showerhead.
“Are you on birth control, sweet girl?” he asked.
You nodded, “I have an IUD.”
He kissed your forehead firmly, one hand still fisted in your hair. “Good girl,” he murmured. “Now I can grab a condom, they’re right over there in the cabinet under my sink.” he continued, nodding vaguely in the sink’s direction. “But baby, I have been fantasizing about the way your pussy’s gonna feel for a long ass time and I hate to ask you this, and you’re allowed to say no, but-”
“Fuck me raw Eddie.” You wanted it. You needed it. You needed him. “I fantasize about it too. I think about it every day, I touch myself to you before going to sleep and wake up wishing your cock was the thing waking me up. When I’m lying by the pool reading those stupid smutty novels and some lord is fucking a lady in waiting up against a wall, I can’t focus on it! I can’t because I want it to be you and I want to feel your cock inside me, and I want it to be your cum that drips down my thighs and your lips on my-”
He cut you off there, splaying his free hand on your neck and kissing you until you were laid horizontally on the hot, wet floor. He climbed on top of you, and in a moment your mouth fell open at the sensation of his hard cock splitting you open from the inside. He didn’t spend a moment waiting for you to adjust to his size or murmuring praises into your ear- he knew you wanted all of him, and you knew he wanted all of you, and that was all you needed. You moaned, you practically screamed, and above all you clutched him for dear life.
“Dirty girl,” Eddie growled into your ear, thrusting into you deep and hard. “Dirty books, dirty mind-”
He leaned back so that his face was directly above yours and grabbed your cheeks, squeezing to force your mouth open. Your lips parted, and Eddie spat harshly into your mouth before shoving your mouth closed around it. His eyes were feral, wild with lust and dominance. “Swallow.” he commanded, you obeyed in an instant. He felt your throat moving against his hand and smiled deviously. “Dirty mouth, too.”
He picked up his pace, spearing into you at a pace so relentless that you couldn’t even keep track of the noises coming out of your mouth- an incoherent stream of sounds and swear that would have made a sailor blush. He matched your dirty noises with his own, all the while dicking you down into his shower floor as your brain went haywire at the lewd noises of skin slapping against skin that echoed through the bathroom.
“God, this pussy is so fucking tight,” Eddie groaned, “good girl, cumming so hard for daddy back there. You gonna cum on my cock this time?”
You moaned, “Need something on my clit, daddy.”
Eddie pecked your lips with his own, and the way it made your heart skip a beat was like a reward. “Good girl, always tell me what you need, okay?”
You nodded, smiling giddily from the sudden subby euphoria. “Okay, daddy.” You made a mental note that kissing Eddie Munson while his cock was inside you gave you your new favorite kind of high.
Eddie reached down and began drawing small, soft circles with his fingertip on your clit. The richly gentle sensation was decadent, pulling deeper, louder moans from you as Eddie continued to fuck you. “Oh I feel you getting tighter, baby girl, that feel good?”
“Yes!” you practically yelled it.
“Yes what?” He taunted.
“Yes daddy!” you cried, arching your back against the tile. He was fucking you ruthlessly, ravaging you mentally, and the way his dirty words melted into you made your brain go so hazy that you weren’t sure if your vision was clouding or if it was just the steam in the air.
Your release was growing closer, that heat in your core coiling tighter and tighter, ready to burst with pleasure. “I’m gonna cum soon, daddy.” you whined.
Eddie’s dick hit you in that perfect spot inside over and over, and you leaned your face against his hand as he cupped your cheek affectionately. “Yeah? You gonna make a mess all over daddy’s dick?” You pouted, nodding ‘yes’ in response. Eddie smiled at the way you could be so cute and so filthy at the same time- he fucking loved it. “That’s probably gonna make me cum, sweetheart, you want that? That pussy’s gonna grip my cock so tight that it fills you with cum, huh?”
You were whimpering and pouting and letting the sluttiest little sobs fall from you now. “Yes, daddy, fill me with cum, please!”
“You want me to fill you with cum? Fuck all that cum inside you?”
“Yes!”
“Yes what, sweetheart, gotta tell me whose dick you’re cumming on-”
“Daddy!” you cried, “Daddy’s dick, I’m cumming on daddy’s dick!”
“Fuuuck, yes, cum on daddy’s dick you little slut-”
Eddie’s filthy words tumbled from his lips as your pussy pulsed around him, fluttering walls squeezing him tight from the aching pleasure that shot through you. His cum filled you, and the size of his load reflected just how long it had been since he’d cum into anything that wasn’t his own hand. When he finally pulled out, a stream of both your releases oozed out of your hole and onto the floor. Eddie stared at it, fascinated, and he silently used his finger to catch the milky liquid and push it back into your hole. You whimpered, overly sensitive and puffy, your pussy lips inflamed and screaming, but Eddie was gentle as he sheathed his finger completely inside you, ensuring that his seed stayed exactly where he’d put it in the first place.
He pulled you up to a sitting position, smiling gently. “Hi.” he whispered, placing a soft kiss on your temple.
“Hi.” you giggled, a giant smile stretching out across your face, blissed-out and more than satisfied.
Eddie stroked your wet hair out of your face, gazing down at you adoringly. “I’m sorry if that was a little… much,” he winced. “I may have gotten carried away, usually I would talk to you to see if that kind of stuff would be okay, but I was just so fired up-”
“Eddie,” you interrupted softly. “I loved it.”
He grinned, grateful and relieved. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Eddie pulled you against him, your body fitting itself nicely against his naked chest as water poured over the two of you from above while you sat holding each other on the floor of his shower. He sighed, completely and utterly content. “Yeah.”
***
The rest of the summer days in your parents’ neighborhood went like this:
Wake up imagining what you and Eddie would do today. Touch yourself when necessary.
Do whatever chores needed doing around the house, sometimes making batches of lemonade for Eddie when you knew he would be working on his lawn that day.
Lounge by your pool and read a book- this part hadn’t changed.
Spend the rest of the afternoon at Eddie’s. These afternoons usually consisted of activities like discussing the whatever book you were reading, drinking whatever strange new beer Dustin had come up with, and fucking each other’s brains out.
The next month, Eddie celebrated his birthday. He didn’t throw a rager (true to his word) but he did have a little get-together. To your surprise, he invited you.
You got to meet his friends, their kids, their dogs- and see the way Eddie smiled for hours without reprieve when they were around. This whole summer, you’d been figuring this man out bit by bit, but it wasn’t until that night that you truly felt like you knew him.
You baked him a cake, as promised. Three layers of funfetti sponge, vanilla frosting and decorated with oreo crumbs and rainbow letters that spelled out “Happy birthday, Eddie, forever young”.
He wasn’t this way with the rest of the neighbors. To them, he would always be Mr. 1405 Peach Tree Lane, but with these people? With his friends? He was Eddie Munson. Now, you were included in that group of people who were allowed to know him, and how wonderful he really was.
You felt so incredibly lucky that you were a part of that.

Steve’s drunk and sad at a party and doom-swiping through Tinder when he comes across this profile:
Eddie, 21
guitarist, dm, dipshit, six time ass eating world champ 💪 🌎 my friends call me Eds, but you can call me Daddy
“What the fuck?” Steve laughs to himself. First time he’s really laughed all night, actually; this party kinda blows.
He slinks down further into the couch, takes another sip of hunch punch and tilts his phone so no one sees him swiping right on this shit. It’s obnoxious. Like, objectively. He’s just…
Bored.
And curious. Surely that bio has never actually worked for the guy, right?
Steve swipes.
It’s a match.
He snorts to himself again, sends a message before he can overthink it.
Steve: Hey, Eds. That’s kind of a bold move, isn’t it?
Message sent, he goes to back out of the app; doesn’t really expect an answer this close to midnight on a Saturday night — only losers use Tinder at this time of night, and what the fuck does that make him? — but then Eddie starts typing.
Eddie: hey, cutie :) what is?
Steve: Uhh…
Jesus. Why is he blushing? He’s not the one who wrote a wildly aggressive hookup bio. Guy might as well have sharpied DTF on his forehead.
Steve: Your bio? 🫣
Eddie: huh?
Eddie: i mean, dnd can get a little spicy on occasion but i’d hardly call it scandalous
Steve: What’s that?
Is it a sex thing? It’s probably a sex thing.
Eddie: okay, what?
Steve: What? I’m so confused lol
Eddie must be, too, because it takes him a few seconds to answer, and when he does he just says:
Eddie: hold pls
Steve holds. Takes a big gulp of his drink and winces; pretty much all vodka at the bottom.
Eddie is typing and then he isn’t, then he is again and then he’s not, and Steve frowns at his empty cup and wonders if he’s already fucked up the one interesting thing that’s happened to him all night.
Finally, finally, a new message pops up.
Eddie: ………god. DAMN it, Gareth 😤😤😤😤

Eddie from Chili’s
Waiter!Eddie x Shy!reader
Tumblr media
A/N: based off my experience with a super cute waiter I wrote about here. 😭 and no I haven’t been back yet! I still might, idk. But here’s this!!
Rip me + cole 4ever
Warnings: fluff, slight angst, shy!reader, fem!reader
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You stood in front of the restaurant, smoothing down the front of your open corduroy shirt, questioning the little black strappy top you wore underneath.
It had been a month since you’d been here last and you’d hoped to God he’d recognize you now that you were alone and looked nicer.
During your previous visit to the bar and grill, you had the pleasure of having the hottest guy seat you—and your mother— and you hoped he wouldn’t be your server due to the fact you wore your dingiest shoes and a mustard plaid flannel with a gray Nirvana shirt. Not to mention your hair had passed its expiration date by three days.
“I’ll be right back with your drinks.” He’d said after taking your order.
He towered over you, his black shirt fitting him in all the right places while exposing his heavily inked arms— skulls and mythical creatures flowed up and down his arms as if shrouded in smoke. You wondered how long it took and how badly it hurt as you dropped your bag in the space next to you and slid into the booth.
His eyes were deep golden brown and had thick lashes to frame them, and they were set on you after flickering over your being and saying, “—and in case you need anything, don’t be afraid to grab me, my name's Eddie.” He lingered for a moment longer before turning his shoulders towards the kitchen across the bar and you could’ve swore he winked on his way past, successfully stunning you to your core.
He returned with drinks after giving you ample time to look over the menu, spending his free time leaning over the counter to talk to the bartender who appeared to be his buddy, chuckling and exchanging slightly degrading comments as the older women in the booth behind you exchanged risqué quips about the two of them.
He’d placed the drinks on the coasters carefully before bringing his hands together in front of him, shifting his weight slightly, “Would you like to order an appetizer? Or do you need more time?” He looked at you and you looked at your mom like a helpless thirteen year old. She nodded at you to speak with a pleasant smile on her face.
You swallowed at your dry throat, “We need another minute, please.” You fought to keep your eyes on his as you spoke but they kept falling down the table or away from his face. He had to have known the effect he had on you.
“No worries!” He said brightly and drummed his hands on the table before going back into the kitchen.
You groaned to yourself and try to focus on the menu, the words suddenly too overwhelming to comprehend. There were so many. And all so close together!
“What are you getting, dear?” Your mother asked, “I’m getting chips and salsa, and the sirloin!” She beamed looking down at the menu.
“Uh. The, uh.” You shake your head, “I dunno.”
“Do you need me to order for you?” She asks, concerned, noticing your state.
“—No.” you answered firmly. “I just can’t figure out what I want, I’m just not hungry right now.”
“Get the chicken pasta, you like that!” She assured before nodding as the cute waiter approached again.
“Are we ready?” He asked with a smile, looking between the two of you before resting his warm brown eyes on yours. You were seated by the window on a bright overcast day, the warm light of the lamp hanging over your table cast him in a golden glow and you couldn’t help but nod and forget every word you’ve ever known in the English language.
You turn and look at your mom for help and nod at her, “You go.”
“We’ll take the chips and salsa, with queso too, and I’ll have the sirloin, medium rare, with the broccoli and potatoes.” She said, giving him enough time to write between each item, like everyone should. She handed him the menu and looked at you as he did.
Suddenly the light was blinding and you looked down to the menu to discover you still couldn’t read the fucking words on the folder before you. “I’ll have the chicken fingers. Four of them.” You cringe.
“… four orders? Like.. 16?” He schools his face as your face drains of any color and then fills back up with magenta, probably.
“Just the four, please.” You recover.
“And do you want fries with that?” He smiled with a teasing lilt to his voice, your lips twitch up at the corners much to your dismay.
“Yes, please.” You nearly grit out of your clenched jaw.
He barely glanced down at his pad as the pen scratched across it. “Alright. I’ll get that in for ya!” And he disappeared again.
“I think I know what’s going on.” Your mother mused as she gazed at the dessert menu.
You blanch and swallow again, “No, mom.”
“Oh, now I know I’m right.”
“No, you’re not.” You insisted.
“Do I need to ask him if he’s single?”
“Please no.”
“Well you oughta know that boy has been making eyes at you this whole time.” Your mother leaned forward to utter between you.
You sharply inhale at the thought of him looking at you the way he did. “I can’t think thoughts when I look at him, mom.” You whine as you sink into your seat. “It doesn’t help I look like a twelve year old today.” You ran your hands down your makeupless face.
“Well when you sit like that you look about 4, and he’s headed this way so you better get up.” She warned.
You shoot up in your seat and clear your throat, preparing to say thank you.
Eddie appeared with the basket of chips and cups of dip, lingering again as your mom plucked up a chip and scooped up some queso, “Is there anything else I can get for you?” He said only to you.
You wait for your mom to answer, but her mouth is full so you shake your head no, “No, thank you.” You say, sharper than you meant to. Eddie nods and gives a tight smile before walking back to the kitchen.
Between the time it had taken Eddie to get the order in and the chef to cook it to perfection and send it back your way, the women behind you began ordering more and more drinks, getting louder with their advances when the bartender helped Eddie deliver food to his tables.
“Aww, what a good friend!” One drawled as she accepted her plate.
“We’re actually brothers.” The bartender affirmed, his hair shaved short as opposed to Eddie’s long dark curls.
The women gasped and you turned your head to the side, noticing Eddie shyly putting his hands in his pockets as his brother clapped him on the shoulder once the food was served.
“So how are y’all related?” Another asked.
Eddie gave his brother the side eye, “… our mom and dad?”
The women cackled at themselves, crooning about how they should’ve known they were brothers by their good looks and sweet dimples. You nibbled on a chip as the brothers proved their parentage by pulling out their licenses when one of them claimed disbelief.
“Well you’re a good brother!” One of the women gushed to the bartender as Eddie made long steps to the kitchen, his brother lingering at the table and soaking up the attention as he picked up their empty glasses, “Oh, I’m just helping him out cause he’s working til midnight tonight.”
Suddenly he was back, a blur of black and white as he approached the table with the platter of your food. He handed your mothers to her and set your basket on the table in front of you before you had the chance to reach out, giving you a quiet warning about the plate being hot.
“Is there anything else I can get you?” He asked you, again. This time your mom didn’t have food in her mouth as he waited for your answer, “Could I get some ketchup?” You suddenly ask.
Eddie’s ears perked and he reached across the table to grab the red bottle by the window, opening the top and squirting a generous helping on the side of your plate. You look up at him dumbfounded and embarrassed, swallowing before uttering, “I'm sorry, thank you.” You burned in the cheeks again.
He smiled smugly before setting the bottle down, “No worries. Let me know if there’s anything else I can get for you.” He said before walking back into the kitchen again.
You exhale deeply and rest your hand on your forehead, “Oh my god.”
Your mother cuts her steak and takes a bite, “He’s good at his job.” She shrugged.
“I freaking know.” You whined again. “I can’t even eat.”
“Don’t worry about it, just get a box later.”
You picked at your food until Eddie stopped back by when your mothers plate was empty. He took her plate and asked, “Are you feeling dessert? Lava cake?” He asked between you both as your mother gazed at the dessert menu yet again.
“Mmm… Yes! Let’s have a lava cake!” She nodded. “Can we get two spoons?”
“—oh, I don’t want any, mom.” You shook your head.
“You sure?” She asked, Eddie looked at you as if to ask the same thing.
You look at both of them and nod, “Yeah—yeah, I’m sure.”
Eddie nodded at you with soft eyes, “Alright, well, is there anything else I can get for you?” He asked you, a lilt to his voice.
“A to-go box, please.” You muster, keeping your gaze focused this time on one of his beautiful eyes. He smiles and nods, checking on his other tables on his way to the kitchen.
You couldn’t help but notice his time was shorter at other tables. He was prompt, kind, cool and collected. He had a way with people that put them at ease— except you.
He returned to the table with your empty box, the dessert, and a leather bound check— handing both to you.
He handed your mother the plate with two spoons, despite your request, then tapped a ringed finger on the surface next to you.
His body was angled towards yours, as if to show you he was asking you, and you only, “Is there anything else I can get for you before I go out on my break?” He leaned on his hand, his head dipping towards his shoulder as he clicked the pen in his free hand.
You swallowed again and took a quivering breath as your gaze raked down his frame one last time and you shook your head, “No, thank you.”
“A-Are you sure?” He pressed, clicking his pen almost nervously as he waited for your response.
“Mhm!” You said with a closed mouth smile as you dumped your chicken fingers into the box.
He smiled tensely before he nodded and walked away, less hustle in his step as he dug in his back pocket for his cigarettes and disappeared through the kitchen doors for the final time.
The interaction has haunted you since.
You were a grown woman! How dare he take up this sort of residency in your mind—over something as stupid as a one time interaction.
Eddie the waiter with his big stupid brown eyes and his easy going facade. You bet it’s all fake anyway, there was no way anyone was that charming without any effort!
He’s in service, it’s his job to be nice and appealing! Who’s to say he wasn’t just smooth and doing it for kicks and tips!
But you did notice the way his brother tended to the rest of his tables in his absence, as if he’d waited for only you to finish before going on his break.
You replayed the moment he may or may not have winked at you in your mind a thousand times, feeling so pathetic as you wished for him to do it again.
After much convincing from your friends— and mother— you decided you’d come back, alone.
And this time you’d put more effort into your appearance, your makeup flawlessly done and deciding to wear your favorite outfit, complete with your best ass hugging jeans. Your hair was washed and styled, loose curls framed your face and your perfume was your best; not too strong, and fresh yet warm.
It is 1pm on a Friday afternoon, the same time and day you’d come last time, hoping he’d be scheduled to work today.
And with a deep breath in, you yank open the door and walk inside.

Steve grows up playing piano, absolutely hates it, but is so good at it. His parents aren’t around enough by the time he’s a teen to force him to his practices, so he slowly stops going.
His music teacher happens to be Robin’s mom, who studied at Juilliard, and traveled for nearly a decade with various orchestras and bands before settling down with her husband in Hawkins.
She can see what’s going on with Steve from day one, but knows better than to interfere.
Until he quits.
She can’t stand by and let someone so musically gifted give it up.
She shows up at his house with a violin, her own violin that she hadn’t used in years.
He’s hesitant at first, but decides to give it a try as long as she doesn’t tell his parents. The last thing he wants is for them to find out he picked up a new instrument.
She can’t give him official lessons, so she shows up to his house twice a week and hopes that he practices in his own time.
He’s a natural.
He takes to it like a duck to water.
She encourages him to perform in a local talent show, all kids under 18, most of them not half as talented as he is.
He only agrees when she says she’ll be front row.
And sure enough, for once in his life, someone shows up when they say they will. She’s sitting front row with her husband on one side and her daughter on the other. She smiles as he takes the stage, nervous about people who know him seeing him and reporting back to his parents.
He performs with heart, something he lacked with the piano. He performs with talent, something he may have with any instrument he picks up.
But most importantly, he plays with a smile. He’s having fun.
He sticks around to watch some of the other people performing: Tammy Thompson singing a very out of tune rendition of America The Beautiful, some kid from one of his classes playing piano miserably, and some band performing very loud, very angry music.
Steve wins, and for once, it feels better than when he wins at a swim meet or basketball game.
He spends the next three years secretly practicing, only performing in shows out of town, never saying anything to his parents.
He doesn’t want them to ruin this for him.
He applies to Juilliard, not thinking he has a chance in hell, not with his academic grades.
Luckily, they see that he’s “exceptional with the strings” and “plays with emotion that can’t be trained.”
He gets in.
He goes.
He thinks he may actually be able to do this, use a gift he has to make his life better.
His parents even find it acceptable, mostly because he got into the best school he could have. They still don’t bother showing up for his shows, but Mrs. Buckley always finds a way.
In his sophomore year, Robin gets in, and they both move into a small apartment off campus together. He promised to look out for her.
She tells him that music wasn’t really her passion, she was just good with a trumpet. She really wanted to be an engineer.
In his junior year, Robin transfers to Columbia, starts doing what she really wanted to do from the start. He’s proud of her, but misses having someone on campus during the day to have lunch with.
Until he stumbles, literally, into someone vaguely familiar.
“Sorry, man. Running late.”
Steve pats the man on the shoulder and turns to get to his class when the man stops him.
“Harrington? You’re a student here?”
He turns back and finally recognizes the man in front of him.
“Munson? When did you get here?”
“I got in this year. Kinda fucked up my first audition last year and they were kind enough to give me another shot.” Eddie smiled. “What on earth are you here for?”
“Violin. You?”
“Guitar and songwriting.”
“That’s great, man. I’m just really running late. Catch up soon?”
Soon was two weeks later, when Steve ran into Eddie again while leaving class.
“We should probably stop running into each other like this,” Eddie smirked. “The universe is trying to tell us something.”
“What’s it trying to tell us?”
“Not sure. Maybe we should go grab dinner and find out.”
“Now?”
“Why not? Got better plans?”
Steve thought about how Robin was barely at the apartment due to studying for midterms. He thought about how his only other friend from here was busy rehearsing for their senior showcase.
“Nah. Let me bring this home first,” he held up his violin case. “Actually.”
Steve was on a budget. His parents gave him money, sure, but they thought he was living on campus so the money they sent covered rent and groceries and nothing else.
“I could make dinner. If you want?”
“Steve Harrington cooks? And plays violin?” Eddie fake swooned. “Be still my beating heart. How will I not be seduced?”
Steve rolled his eyes. He remembered Eddie’s dramatics from school and knew better than to feed into them.
“I can make some spaghetti. Nothing fancy.”
“Spaghetti sounds great,” Eddie’s fake swoon turned to a soft smile. “You want some help?”
Steve didn’t need help, usually didn’t even want any.
But something about the way his stomach dipped when Eddie stepped closer, and the way he thought about having Eddie in his apartment, made him agree.
“Sure.”
They walked to Steve’s apartment in a comfortable silence, though Eddie kept tapping the back of his fingers against Steve’s hand.
Eddie fit next to Steve. They cooked together, they ate together, they even managed to clean up together. It was easy to find something to talk about. He’d never clicked with anyone like this, not even Robin.
By the time Robin came home, Steve and Eddie were both passed out on the couch, fingers laced together as if they hadn’t been brave enough to do anything more before they fell asleep.
By morning, Steve’s head was on Eddie’s shoulder, Eddie’s arm wrapped around him loosely.
Waking up to a soft kiss on his lips was something Steve couldn’t have imagined when he first ran into Eddie, but he was pretty glad it was how he started his day.
And almost every day after that, whether he woke up to a kiss, or met up with Eddie on campus for a kiss, he started his day with love on his lips.

Bad Things (Eddie Munson Short Story)
Tumblr media
⚠️Warnings: Explicit sexual content. Minors DNI. Toxic Relationship. Angst.⚠️
Summary: Modern AU. Rockstar Eddie. Nova Gray is a pop star and the on again/off again girlfriend of rockstar Eddie Munson. Both of them are at the height of their career. Fame and trouble follow these two everywhere they go. They both know they are no good for each other but can they stay away? Just a heads up that this will not be typical sweet Eddie. He's kind of an asshole. But a hot one.
******
Characters and Intro, Chapter one, Chapter two, Chapter three, Chapter four
Chapter five: Playgirl
****So good that you can't explain it. What can I say? It's complicated.****
Nova's POV
You quietly tiptoe across the floor searching for your clothes. You get dressed quickly and grab his shirt from the floor. You bring it to your nose and inhale deeply before slipping it on over your bodysuit.
A mix of cigarettes, weed, and his favorite cheap cologne. He never upgraded, even after having all the money in the world. He said it reminded him of where he came from. It was a comforting smell to him. One that reminded him of home. And now one that reminded you of him.
You walk over to the bed and look at him. He's laying on his stomach, his arm sprawled across the place you just left. His face is pressed hard against the pillow. A small puddle of drool leaking onto his silk pillowcase. His untamed hair sticking up everywhere.
You wanted to wake him. Tell him goodbye. But you knew he would convince you to stay. One look from him and you practically melt into a fucking puddle. You settle for a light kiss to his cheek before heading out the door.
Back to reality. Back to Max. Fuck... Max. He's gonna hate me.
You grab your phone and wait in the lobby of Eddie's apartment building while you call Sal to come pick you up.
You scope the area outside for paparazzi and seeing no one around you swiftly make your way to the car. The last thing you need is being photographed outside his apartment.
"Two days, Ms. Gray?" Sal looks back at you with a raised eyebrow.
"I know, Sal." you groan as you lay your head back against the headrest.
"Um.. Ms. Gray.." he mumbles and you look at him confused.
He points to his neck and then back to you. "You might want to cover those?"
Shit. Eddie of course had completely ignored your request for 'no marks'. You were pretty sure he went overboard just because you asked him not to. You take your phone flipping the camera on yourself, inspecting the damage.
Jesus, Eddie.
Hickeys and bite marks littered your neck and shoulders, all the way down to your breasts.
"Can you take me to Chloe's?" you blush at Sal and he gives you a sympathetic look.
"Of course." he smiles at you before changing course.
After a few minutes Sal rolls up to the massive gates looking into the camera.
"Come on in, Sal." you hear one of Chloe's assistants crackle through the speaker as the gate swings open.
Chloe has always enjoyed nice things and her house proved that. You see the water fountain leading to a stone entryway. Beautiful pillars stand tall in the front of her home.
You slip out of the car and around to Sal's window. You try to hand him some extra cash, which he attempts to refuse. You lean in and kiss his cheek, dropping the folded bills into his suit pocket before heading inside.
You take in the grand foyer made of beautiful marble flooring leading to an elegant curved staircase embellished with gold leaf accents. The gourmet kitchen with an Italian cabinetry and marble countertops, covered with half empty bottles of different liquors.
Some of your best moments have been here. You and Eddie both. Wild nights, skinny dipping, dancing until the sun came up. Eddie's last birthday was also here. You could only remember small pieces of that night. But it was fun. You missed those days. Even though things weren't perfect. You always missed him.
As well as some of your most tender moments. Movie nights in her downstairs theater. Soft kisses in the hottub. Making use of almost every guest room she has.
Chloe was the first person you trusted in this crazy industry. While she enjoyed her fancy lifestyle she was also the realest person you knew. She was an actress, though she dabbled a bit in music and the two of you had clicked immediately. She was blunt, beautiful, and fierce. She wouldn't sugarcoat things to you. She always said what was on her mind. But she loved you regardless of what you did. She didn't judge you but she would tell you if you were being an idiot. Which was often. She was your best friend.
"Chlo?" you yell out as you make your way up the stairs. There's no answer so you continue on to her bedroom.
You hear moaning coming from behind the door and smirk.
"You've been a bad girl, haven't you?" Chloe purrs and you hear a breathless 'yes' followed by another moan.
This could take a while.
You quietly make your way back downstairs and head to one of her guest rooms heading for the shower. You grab some clothes and get changed before going to fix yourself a cup of tea.
You grab one of the blankets off the back of her couch and settle in flipping on the tv.
And there he is. A picture of Eddie pulled up on screen behind the host.
"Eddie Munson will be performing his new single 'Crazy Bitch' at the VMA's tomorrow night. As well as a duet with ex girlfriend, Nova Gray. We can't help but wonder if this new song happens to be about her as well, though the two both insist they're on good terms. Be sure to tune in tomorrow for their first reunion since the breakup. Well the first public reunion... I think we can all imagine what has gone down behind the scenes.." The girl winks at the camera and you quickly turn the tv off.
Jesus Christ.
You grab your phone just as you hear a cry from upstairs, signaling that Chloe got the job done.
I have to call him.
Your stomach twists as you find Max's name and see his bright smile on the screen.
"Nova?" he answers after the first ring.
"Hey.. Max I'm sorry, I was just.."
"Are you okay?" he cuts you off and you close your eyes pulling the furry blanket to your chin.
"I'm fine.. I'm sorry. I should have called." you whisper into the phone.
"So you've been at Chloe's then? She said you weren't feeling well." he says softly.
He knows. I know that he knows.
"Mhmm.. I'm feeling better though." you lie and you hear him sigh.
"Nova.. you can talk to me. You wouldn't ignore me for two days if you were with Chloe.."
You take a deep breath as you keep the phone pressed against your ear.
"I'm sorry, Max." you whisper softly.
"Are you coming home today?" he asks gently. There's no anger in his voice. Just a hint of sadness, making you feel even more guilty.
"Yes. I'll be there tonight." you reply as you chew on your lip nervously.
"Promise?" he presses.
"Promise." you say before hanging up. You toss your phone on the couch and look up to see a beautiful redhead making her way down the stairs. Chloe follows behind her in her robe.
"I'll call you, baby." she says as she walks her to the door. The girl smiles and kisses Chloe one more time before leaving. She shuts the door and makes her way over to you immediately.
"Fuck, Nova. Munson really did a number on your neck." Chloe observes as she plops down next to you. You lift the blanket and she slides in next to you, her head resting on your shoulder.
"I don't know what to do, Chloe." you admit softly.
"Have you seen Max yet?" she asks and you shake your head.
"I came straight here. But he knows.." you lean in closer and Chloe wraps her arm around you.
"Well you know I have plenty of space if he kicks your slutty ass out." Chloe jokes and you laugh as you nudge her softly.
"I love you." you mumble and she kisses the top of your head.
"I love you, too."
Eddie's POV
You wake up and immediately feel the loss of her next to you. She's gone. Two nights with her and once again you can't fucking think straight.
You roll over and reach for your pack of smokes grabbing your phone and immediately seeing Nova on your lock screen.
Your phone starts ringing and you see your manager's name pop up.
Decline.
You hear your front door open and Jimmy comes into your room a seconds later.
"Remind me why I gave you keys?" you grumble as he walks over.
"Cover your dick up, Munson. We have a photoshoot today, remember?"
"I'm not going. Cancel it." you say as you pull the covers over your head.
"Nope. Not today. How many times have I told you to stop having her over? I lose you every time. Put on your big boy pants and let's go." Jimmy insists. "Or wear nothing.. it's the playgirl shoot after all."
You sit up suddenly. "That's today?" you smirk and Jimmy shakes his head with a laugh.
"That's today. Now come on, let's go." he rushes as he throws a pair of jeans your way.
The playgirl shoot. Nothing but naked Eddie Munson... and maybe a few naked girls. Nova always hated the idea before. She was a little jealous.. Well more than a little. But she left this morning. Back to sweet little Max. I'm not Max. He would never do a shoot like this. But he's not Eddie Munson.
*******
"Fuck...that feels good, baby. Can you go a little deeper?" you look down at the photographer and she nods as she slowly takes you deeper into her throat.
"Mmm.. that's it.. you look so good on your knees." you praise her and she moans onto your cock as she begins picking up speed.
The shoot went well and you were excited to see Nova's reaction once she saw that you had gone through with it.
You grip the girl's blonde hair as you pressed down slightly.
I know. No business with pleasure. But that doesn't apply to me. Never has.
She gags on your length before sucking back to the tip. "You're so big." she pants breathlessly.
I know.
"Is it too much, sweetheart? We can stop if you can't handle it." you tease and she shakes her head quickly.
"No.. no I want to." she looks up at you and flutters her eyelashes before taking you back in her mouth. This is taking too long. Her gag reflex is really kicking in.
"Give me your hand." you reach out and she places her hand in yours. You spit in her palm and lead her hand to your cock. You wrap your fingers around hers and begin stroking.
"There we go.. just like that.." you toss your head back as she begins to use her hand and mouth together.
She flattens her tongue, licking the length of your cock with every bob of her head. Your eyes shut as you focus on the pleasure, trying to push out the constant thoughts of Nova.
"I'm close.. I'm close, baby.." you groan and she speeds up even more, working quickly to get you to your peak. You feel your muscles tighten and you push her head down hard as your cum shoots into her throat.
She struggles to swallow your load and you look down seeing your cum on the side of her mouth. Her eyes are wet with tears. You reach down and wipe away a tear that escaped with your thumb.
"We were gonna send you the first copy before it gets released. Does that sound good?" the girl says casually as she stands, wiping her lips with the back of her hand.
"Actually, if you could send it here. Thank you, sweetheart." you scribble down Nova's address and give the girl a wink before disappearing.
Nova's POV
You slide your key into the lock and open the door gently. Max is sitting at the island with a glass of whiskey in front of him.
You and Chloe had done your best to cover Eddie's love bites with makeup. But it didn't matter. It didn't change anything.
You walk over to him and sit next to him on the barstool. He looks up and meets your eyes as he takes a small sip of his drink.
"Nova, I don't know what you want from me." Max starts. "I try to be good to you. I've always been kind to you. But it's always him.. he's not good for you. You know that, don't you?"
"Yes." you whisper as your eyes fill with tears. Seeing him face to face hurts. His soft brown eyes look into yours. You can see the defeat in them.
"If you want to ruin your life, Nova. I can't stop you. But I've seen it all. I've seen how bad things get between you two. I care about you.. you know that I care about you, right?" Max turns and takes my hands in his.
"I care about you, too." you whisper as a tear falls from your eyes.
And I do care about him. None of this is fair to him. But he's not Eddie. Why do I only want Eddie?

..does anyone here have a good heavy metal 70s/80s playlist that ACTUALLY HAS METALLICA on it? all the ones I'm seeing don't have a single fucking song by them.
Dio, ACDC, Iron Maiden? Absolutely.
Judas Priest, The Ramones? Them too
BUT NO METALLICA AND NO MEGADEATH EITHER. i'd forgive no metallica if there was megadeath, some people prefer them. but there is neither and i need someone with a good playlist
Friendly (but fed up with spotify people) Knife Anon
I mean I have a 21 hour long 80s playlist but it’s just general / mostly pop 80s music so yeah it’s not very heavy on the heavy metal lmaooo
but hopefully someone will see this and be able to recommend one to you! <33
I’m thinking of making a modern!Eddie playlist of who I think he’d listen to nowadays but idk if anyone would be interested in listening to that…?
- hope

Thinking of Eddie Munson at the sidewalk with a megaphone doing the ‘polite catcalling’ thing with his hellfire boys. And firefighter Steve Harrington on the other side of the road responding to a fender bender. And Eddie’s like, ‘none of these thoughts are in the Bible, Jeffrey help me.’
