Cranberry Bean Harvest

I shelled my dried cranberry beans recently. I’ve aspired to grow them for several years. Cranberry beans were the “novelty crop” in my summer garden. Since I had not previously grown beans for shelling, I only planted a 1 x 4 foot swath. Though the harvest was small, I was pleased. One ounce of seed yielded 12 oz. of dried beans. I’ll save a third to replant next spring to increase the yield. There’s an autumn soup ahead with the remainder.

The self-supporting bush-type plants thrived even with the summer weather that did not favor other crops. The soil was heavily amended with compost and organic vegetable fertilizer and I coated the seeds with soil inoculant at planting. Germination was excellent. My seed source was Territorial Seed Co.

I love food. Big fan of food. am I consistently and constantly hungry. Food is the best thing. Wow. Can’t believe I live on a planet where I can eat and taste. I can bring food for my friends. I can slice it in half. I can make an ugly bacon egg sandwich just for me. I can reheat food. I can melt cheese on chips. I can give my friends the black licorice jelly beans. I can give my cat a tiny piece of chicken from my bowl. I can cook food. I can season grilled foods spicy in separate batches for my friends with a low spice tolerance. Wow. You can eat . you should eat. I love a burger.

Went across the street to the 24hrs coffee shop to order Singapore Fried Noodles (星洲米粉) and Hor Fun (河粉) from the tze char (煮炒) stall. The first is fried bee hoon or rice vermicelli while the latter is broad flat rice noodle.

I took the easy way to dinner and opted for Economy Rice (菜饭) with this big piece of savoury pork chop, crispy ikan bilis & crunchy peanuts and kang kong (water spinach) stir-fry over steamed rice.

i think when fully unglamoured Dew still has patches of scales but theyre dried up and colourless and fur grows underneath them now. he thinks he looks horrific but of course literally everyone else thinks differently

Ohhhhhh my goddddddddd so I’ve basically been to the doctor three times since turning 18 and aging out of the pediatrician because of my horrible doctor fears and issues. So it’s a MOMENTOUS occasion and the culmination of years of glacial self-work that I felt ready FINALLY READY to sit down and make a doctors appointment for a routine visit!! Like that is give or take a decade in the making…….and all the ethereal alchemical elements were correct so I could finally do it this morning. But the clinic is closed and you can only do it weekdays ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ ok guess I am going to the doctor in 10 years probably. See you 2034
