I actually LOVE getting questions like this. It’s my favorite thing, and I wish more people would do it. But anyways….

Was Mori invited to the Dead Apple Meeting, and if so, why would he decline?

The answer to your first question?

No. He would not have been invited. At least, I don’t think so. Although it’s quite easy to forget, the meeting wasn’t just meant to be a gathering of smart people for the sake of it. No, it was a collection of people with important jobs and skills, ones that Shibusawa believed could work with him.

Dazai was an infamous traitor, possibly able to betray the agency just as well as the mafia.

Fyodor wanted all abilities gone, and only really cares for himself.

Mori?

He’s a mob boss with a billion different obligations. No way he would give up his job for this.

But if he was invited, why would he decline? Simple. He was the only one who didn’t need to be there in the flesh.

Dazai had to be there to use his nullification.

Fyodor had to be there to take out Dazai.

Shibusawa had to be there because this whole situation was his idea.

But Mori?

All Mori had to do was give an order, which he could execute from wherever he wanted. He only needed to give Chuuya one command, and Yokohama, as well as the mafia by extension, would be safe.

He had no reason to attend.

I hope all this makes sense! Feel free to send more theories, questions, and analysis.
