DEJ 2023, part one!
here are all the sketches for days 1–11, mostly in order. I switched a few around to fill the canvas better, and since I didn't draw yesterday I put 10 & 11 together. they're just hangin' out. <3
this is the first time I've ever heard of or participated in this challenge, but I'm having a blast and can definitely see myself doing this again in the future! can't wait to see what tricky poses are gonna come up next.

As you can see I've been losing steam in the process, but at least I managed to finish xD (and yes, I know I technically have two extra weeks to make those rough sketches into something else, but I think I need a break, so this is it).

Month 6, day 17, cleaned up Tanta Cinta from earlier this week and gave her a more Tanta appropriate couch. By which I mean one that actually looks comfy-ish.
I've also learned I need to get better at furniture design because I had no idea what I was doing the whole time! :D
#the great artscapade of 2023#art#my art#forspoken fan art#tanta cinta#draw everything june#← technically because this was a DEJ pose and I'm just refining it#I need to do more art with furniture and props and backgrounds#drawing that bed in the Promnis pic last year was hard#Cinta's couch was hard#the shelf for DEJ day 1 was hard#and my roommate wants me to do all of the art for that gunpla comic and he doesn't want me to do it with 3D models#so I'm gonna have to get good with making backgrounds and furniture and props and whatnot#if I was doing things in 3D I could just use open source models for the furniture#and the only ones I'd have to make would be the characters and the gunpla and any custom furniture that doesn't technically exist#the thing is I KNOW I could do things in 3D once I figure out Blender#I *am* a skilled artist#3D is a whole different toolset and skillset but the art I already do has plenty of overlap in 3D#I have the foundations to become a phenomenal 3D artist#so basically I'm gonna do it just to prove I can whether he likes it or not XD

It’s time for my 8th annual, month-long drawing challenge! 🎉
The challenge is to draw every new AdorkaStock pose that I submit to the Draw Everything June gallery between June 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023.
A new pose will be posted at 6AM Eastern every Monday – Friday Eastern USA Time. (No new poses Saturdays or Sundays).
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
🟣 Draw every pose submitted to the AdorkaStock Draw Everything June gallery between June 1, 2023 and June June 30, 2023 (22 drawings total, some references will include multiple models). Sign up to get the new pose emailed each day!
🟣 Your goal is to draw all the poses by July (July! Not June ❤) 15th, 2023. Yes, this means you have an extra two weeks to get everything done if you fall behind or start late! Don’t worry if you are in another timezone and need to complete ‘that day’s drawing’ on another day. Want advanced access to get a jump start on the challenge? Patrons at all levels have access to all the challenge poses on May 15th!
🟣 Post your art anywhere on socials with #DrawEverythingJune2023
🟣 There are no individual prizes this year but everyone who completes the challenge will get a special download AdorkaStock pose reference pack. When you’ve completed all the drawings you can qualify by submitting a screenshot of all of your works, or a link to where you’ve posted them on the prize redemption form. The redemption form link will be here once DEJ starts!
🟣 You DO NOT have to do refined artwork with every pose – rough and gestural sketches are okay! But it does have to be the full pose (yes, even multiple models) to qualify. Props are optional but animals must be included.
IMPORTANT: The majority of the pose should be visible for it to count for the challenge. If you draw the head and shoulders and cover the rest of the body with a huge dress, it’s not going to count as drawing the pose. You can use anthro characters and other slight anatomical or prop changes; you can change the genders of the characters or the species of any animal.

i (finally) finished DEJ!!! 🙌🏻
I fell behind at the end of June and have been fixated on other work (writing stuff) so I kept putting off the final four drawings. tbh I think June finished up and my brain kinda just decided we were done with this so my interest went poof. really wanted to finish, tho, so I at least did some rougher, more gestural sketches for the last ones.

Pride 2023 (pt.1)

So, since I'm a little busy with DEJ + trying (and failing) to get back to some sort of routine after being sick for the whole of May, I decided instead of trying to make one big illustration for pride, I'd make several tiny doodles instead! :D

Rising Detroit Rapper 1Up Tee Can't Help But Keep It Real
Born and raised in Westside Detroit, 1Up Tee is a product of his environment. Unlike many born into his circumstances, however, 1Up Tee does not accept the conditions of his home and the society's cultural expectations for granted. In his incisive anthems, the 25-year-old rapper questions conventional wisdom, pointing out contradictions in the way we live our lives, and striving to find a fairer way forward.
1Up Tee grew up playing football, rapping on the side to vent his feelings, influenced by rappers like Babyface Ray and Payroll Giovanni. When he realized that he wouldn't go pro on the gridiron, Tee turned his attention to the booth full time. Tee wrote about the things he observed in his hometown, teaming up with close friend D Hen 1UP to release the mixtape Y.N.A. in 2022. Tee eventually turned his attention towards the anti-social behavior he witnessed all too often on social media.

Tee's momentum continued into 2023, with singles like "Spoiled Rotten" and "Double Life" leading into the Upper EP in May. Late last year, Tee's profile began to cross out of the Great Lakes region and make waves nationwide: the catalyst was "Good Karma (Freestyle)," an examination about why bad things happen to real ones, which became a viral On The Radar performance and generated over 4 million on-demand streams. He kept the karma going with January's "Lose Lose," which earned attention from Pitchfork, racking up over 1.8 million streams in its first six weeks.
