More attitude hunting for Knell tonight :) Some more poses from @adorkastock, but I also made up a few on my own. Knell's not a particularly active character, so whatever pose I find for her is going to be fairly static, which makes finding something that gives an idea of her personality somewhat difficult lol
But that's good! It means I get to have even more fun trying to nail down something that works for her :D
That said, though, I think I've found the pose I'm going to start iterating on :3 See if you can spot it~
Month 7, day 15, more translation work done! Finished out (most of) the Athian alphabet and translated that new piece of paper I found :D
That paper is weird; the start of the article is on the right side of the paper, and is talking about a machine that crushes stuff into powder for medicine. Then about two thirds to three quarters of the way down in the left column, it turns into some kind of documentation about Autodesk Maya 2011 features compared to Autodesk Maya 2010.
I also made a discovery! Cuff's scan of the baddies gives you the monsters' names in Athian below their English name :D I bet I could also get the rest of the numerical characters by paying attention and being quick with the screenshot button when I play through memories, since those have dates in them and I've watched them switch from Athian to English.
No animation work today; ProCreate Dreams is still in its infancy and is honestly kind of hard to work with. But! Flick gets new wings, so not all is lost!! :D
Lookit my handsome boi, he gon stab a bitch to death :D
Finished the shading on Flick's open wings :D Next is the closed wings, then the swords, then the body, then we do the highlights and effects and I get to decide what his halo's gonna look like :)
Knell has a circular halo and Keen has square/rectangular, so I'm thinking I could give Flick a triangular halo. Just gotta figure out how I want to do it :)
This took fewer iterations than anticipated :D The only problem I can see is all this fine detail is gonna get lost when I rotate and shrink this to fit on the end of Knell's spear, but that's okay :)
The two smaller sketches in the top left are the bases I wanted to work with—on the left is the general shape of the spearhead that I wanted, and the right is one of those dart things that the transformed Rheddig soldiers use :D
You can see where the design on Knell's spear got its influence, I'm sure. I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm super happy with how the whole thing is turning out so far :D
Two arts for the price of one today! Did some more inbetweening on that animation, and then I worked on Flick a little more. Wound up liking one of the poses I did last time so tried iterating on it, and I think I've decided on his new pose :D
It's the big one in the middle :3 I'm gonna play with his wings a bit more before I start on making him all shiny and pretty like Knell and Keen
Don't mind me, just causing problems with this shiny new animation app >w>
Super special awesome shoutout to @cruelfeline for the audio I used :) Also, here's the background all nice and isolated, because I worked hard on it, dang it, and I want to show it off without the scribbly sketches all over it:
Art for the night was me making ProCreate brushes for Knell and Susurrus bird emblems so I can make chains for them easier lol
I think they turned out pretty good! Can't figure out how to get the circles to connect and make actual, you know, circles, but that's okay. I'll either figure it out eventually or I'll just deal with not having closed circles.
I went in with exactly zero plans besides "make pretty pearl-like jewelry" and you know what? #NailedIt Although I did get a little lazy there for the back view; literally just copied the front view and smushed things around with various transformation tools lol. You can tell by how blurry it is. You can also tell that I added another little dangly thing towards the side of the cloak that wraps around front, because it's not all blurry XD
