At this point, the MAGA Republicans have an agenda on education. It's focused on defunding and destroying higher education (since the college educated don't vote MAGA Republican, they are in a sense the focal enemy) and destroying confidence in and defunding primary and secondary education. All funding from primary and secondary education would then be shifted to institutions which in fact engage in political indoctrination to support MAGA Republican through, these are Catholic schools and white Evangelical schools. Hillsdale College in Michigan, a fundamentalist church-affiliated academy for production of the Stepford Wives or the Republic of Gilead, provides the model for the small quantum of higher education that can be tolerated.

Saint Joseph Calasanz
1557-1648
Feast Day: August 25
Patronage: Catholic schools, colleges, universities, students
Saint Joseph Calasanz, a Spanish priest, founded the Pious Schools for the poor and destitute, and the Piarist Religious Order. He was educated in canon law and theology. At first, his work flourished, but because of prejudices and scheming, his Order and work were suppressed. Only after his death did the Piarist Order get formally recognized by the Pope. Throughout this trial, he had visions of Jesus and Mary and was able to read consciences.  His heart and tongue are incorrupt.

Holy Family School - A Decline in Enrollment
In recent times at Holy Family School, our Catholic elementary and middle school in Nazareth, Pennsylvania has experienced a significant shift in its dynamics following the appointment of Mr. Derek Peiffer as the new principal. While every change in leadership brings about a period of adjustment, it's evident that Mr. Peiffer's time with us has left a mixed impact on the school community.
One of the most noticeable challenges has been Mr. Peiffer's communication style, which has been less effective than previous principals at Holy Family. Effective communication is crucial in any educational institution, but the staff, parents, and students have found it lacking under his leadership. This lack of transparent communication has led to uncertainty and frustration among parents and teachers alike.
Furthermore, there are concerns about the accountability of students. It seems that Mr. Peiffer's approach towards discipline and accountability has shifted, causing some to feel that students are not being held to the same standards as before. This shift has altered the positive culture that our small school once enjoyed, as a sense of responsibility and discipline were integral to our community.
The consequences of these changes have been felt deeply within our school. Many dedicated teachers have chosen to leave or are considering doing so, which not only affects the quality of education but also erodes the sense of continuity and stability. Morale among both the faculty and parents is notably low, creating a challenging environment for both teaching and learning.
In the face of declining enrollment and the risk of school closure, it's crucial that the concerns of the school community are heard and addressed. Meaningful dialogue, transparent communication, and a shared vision for the school's future are essential components in rebuilding the positive culture that our school once thrived upon. It's our hope that these issues can be addressed and resolved promptly to ensure the continued success and viability of our beloved Catholic school.

I used to go to catholic school and kids used to read smutty Jesus x Judas and such fan fiction at the top of their lungs in the hallways and during lunch. One time some kid began singing a self insert you x Jesus fanfic in the caffeteria.

Are Catholic schools often used as a site for programming? And would you happen to know of any programs that took place in Catholic schools in Greenville, South Carolina during the 2000s? Thank you for your time.
Programming typically takes place in a closed environment. Catholic schools aren’t closed environments.

If I ever become a mother one day (if God wills that to happen), I have decided I am going to have them go to a decent Catholic school or even homeschool instead of public schools, no matter the cost or sacrifice. There is just so much happening in the world’s culture. My parents couldn’t afford to send me to a Catholic school, so I know how it was first hand the culture but today’s I can barely imagine.

Pope visits native graves ::
“Years after a Canadian-government-funded commission issued findings detailing a history of physical and sexual abuse of Indigenous children in the country's Catholic-run residential schools, Pope Francis on Monday issued an apology on Canadian soil."I am sorry," the pope said, speaking in Maskwacis, Alberta, at the lands of four Cree nations."I humbly beg forgiveness for the evil committed by so many Christians against the Indigenous peoples," Francis said near the site of the former Ermineskin Indian Residential School, where ground-penetrating radar has been used to try to locate unmarked graves of students who died while attending the school.”  :: [NPR]

“And there are millions of teens who read because they are sad and lonely and enraged. They read because they live in an often-terrible world. They read because they believe, despite the callow protestations of certain adults, that books-especially the dark and dangerous ones-will save them. As a child, I read because books-violent and not, blasphemous and not, terrifying and not-were the most loving and trustworthy things in my life. I read widely, and loved plenty of the classics so, yes, I recognized the domestic terrors faced by Louisa May Alcott's March sisters. But I became the kids chased by werewolves, vampires and evil clowns in Stephen King's books. I read books about monsters and monstrous things, often written with monstrous language, because they taught me how to battle the real monsters in my life. And now i write books for teenagers because I vividly remember what it felt like to be a teen facing everyday and epic dangers. I don't write to protect them. It's far too late for that. I write to give them weapons-in the form of words and ideas-that will help them fight their monsters. I write in blood because I remember what it felt like to bleed.”

Something about how Jason Todd’s core character trait is how he lost faith. He lost faith in Shiela, in Bruce, in the entire concept that someone else can care about him and actually have his best interests at heart.
Something about how Catholic priest Flashpoint Jason Todd is someone who has such intense faith, who trust so heavily in someone basically unprovable. Something about how without Bruce, without being Robin, it was his faith that was his core character trait.
Something about how being Robin and the life he was led into changed him in such a tragic and deep seeded way. I don’t know

More international accolades for NZ bishops' trailblazing sexual diversity doc
More international accolades for NZ bishops’ trailblazing sexual diversity doc
Accolades continue for the New Zealand Catholic bishops’ trailblazing document on sexual diversity. The latest comes from David Palmieri of Outreach, a US LGBTQ Catholic resource. “Aroha and Diversity in Catholic Schools, manifests the love of Jesus Christ in its courage to seek “respect, compassion, and sensitivity” for LGBTQ children in Catholic schools and colleges” he says. For this unique…
