Othertimes she is dark skinned, wrapped entirely in scrolls scribbled texts on body and paper. Owl wings and one giant eye for a face. Its usually her I- can't- be- bothered- to- dress- up look. She changes her look fairly often, based on whatever new powerful knowledge she consumes. The eye and the owl wings the only prominent feature that stay. Thus they became what people associate with her.

It’s get up and go time people. I don’t necessarily know why I wrote that but it seemed appropriate here. I’m becoming an old man. I was trying to listen to Napalm Death’s ‘Scum’ and I thought to myself, “I don’t think I need this in my life right now.” And, lo and behold, the heavens parted and this track introduced itself to me like an old friend. I don’t feel qualified to judge the funk but I can say that I totally dug this ditty. “Guilty” indeed.

Wait can you actually give me a rundown on black ice real quick
YEA so
its primarily still in the planning stage right now on account of me being in college but DO NOT underestimate me bc the last time i did a project like this i spent literally over eight years on it
i like to write really sprawling, complex, intertwined stories so Mercy For The Black Ice (aka black ice, mftbi, black ice club, etc) encapsulates a LOT. it takes place primarily in america in the 90s but covers a lot of the 20th century, and it follows a goth club in southern california called The Black Ice. the black ice is run by the main character (if this story has one) Barbie Black, and is funded by a non profit art grant program run by a former actress. im not gonna talk too much about the Plot in this post bc i could literally be here all day but the primary pockets of action are the goth kids in LA, the contemporary art scene in NYC, and a small group of bourgeois types in new england.
so essentially its a sprawling noir nightmare that weaves its way through this interconnected web of people and in that line its nonlinear, i want to tell the story primarily through web design and experimental illustration with a lot of inspiration coming from film and other media. a little bit like a self contained arg but more focused on the art and story than making you believe its real
themes include. blood. music. artists. water. fire. americana. angels. interior design. trauma. gay people. capitalism. drugs. how industry twists and takes advantage of art. abuse of power. so on
