#bruh practicing turkish vocabulary is lowkey depressing #idk why but everytime i open up my first set of Turkish vocab quizlet #i just get frustrated #iidk if it sounds weird but i feel like it's because the first set contains words i picked up from random sources including memrise #and it just isn't making me feel good at all #and it's so hard to retain the vocab unlike the ones that i'm learning more recently #this is why you should avoid picking up vocab from multiple different sources when you're still new to a language #it only makes sense to actively learn vocab from sources other than your main source of studying the language #after and ONLY AFTER you have some grasp and sense of the language #after you get an understanding of how the language and it's vocab works #or maybe that's just me idk #100 days of productivity

I got hella advice.

Do not run to class if you're late. It's not really gonna make you less late.

Pack snacks and water

Do not pull gum out in class unless you intend to share

Buy your own stapler (they make mini ones)

You're gonna look back on this year with mild cringe

Don't be fucking loud and annoying early in the morning

Leave the Seniors alone (They're depressed and haven't had a full night of sleep in weeks)

Buy your own goggles and wear them shits during labs like you're supposed to

When it comes to dissecting shit, if you're queasy, don't be the one cutting the animal open. Don't even be near it.

Don't be a lil stinky child, wash your sports clothes and don't just pile it up in your gym locker.

Axe does not cover must. We can smell you.

HAND SANITIZER. THE GOOD KIND.

If you're gonna come to school smacked (Although, I personally would not recommend it unless you're a pro.), not even on the same planet as everyone else, don't make it obvious.

today’s accomplishments!

made my bed, went through with normal skincare routine, took a quick shower + brushed my teeth!

did ap physics notes due tomorrow and the corresponding conceptual questions + did physics notes due friday and the corresponding conceptual questions due next week!! (@ physics i’m a bad bitch you can’t kill me)

watched the three videos for health + wrote my driving question + reviewed the terms for the unit on quizlet!!

finished going through all the topics on my sat prep book (i started at like 10am and got done at like 9pm w/lots of breaks in between but bruh that was,, strenuous but i did it!! i made it!!)

folded all my clothes from my laundry last night + got my cozy outfit ready for tomorrow (i’m gonna wear white shoes bcs the weather’s pretty nice so far so you know we about to rue the day folks) !!

sharpened my #2 pencils + got all the things i need for tomorrow’s test!! (the only thing i need to find out now is which room we’re taking it in and i really hope my friend knows when i see her in the morning)

replaced my old contact lenses w/ my new ones!! (bcs we gotta get that clearer vision man,, also i went from having the same vision in both of my eyes to having different visions in a span of a year oof)

made myself some noodles + listened to myself and ate the food that i wanted to eat !! (now my stomach kind of hurts but it’s worth it!!)

did not cry even though i was on the verge of a couple of times but nO tears were shed folks!! or maybe i just have no more tears left to cry

so i just practically survived my first year of high school and decided to do a whole guide for those incoming freshmen !! *uh this whole guide is gonna be (probably passive) aggressive and somewhat sarcastic just a heads up because why the fuck not *also this is based on my own personal experiences and my friends’ so uh this may not apply to you or sth

your first year may be really goddamn easy or really goddamn stressful depending on the classes you get, so be careful when you have to choose your classes.

like seriously, math 2 aint like those advanced 8th grade math classes and english 1a may be really fucking stressful since it's not english 1, the basic freshman english.

so unless you’re ready to take that shit to the next level, dont make ur life hella stressful cus it's barely your first year in high school bro.

just saying from my own and my friends’ personal experience

also heads up physics deals with a shit ton of math so unless you love math or you prepared for all that math shit, take bio or sth else (im not even kidding man)

go to your school before the first day and try to find your classes (in order of your schedule) so you don’t have to look like a clutz stumbling into 129730217 different classrooms and be late

ok but even though its your first year, do all your fucking homework. it’ll give you all those fucking points and credits and your grade will fucking thank you for that.

lets be real; you dont always have to eat breakfast if you dont want to. i mean if you want to, go ahead, but if you dont want to (or you just cant eat it for some damn reason //coughme//), thats a-okay too.

I will begin this post by saying that I got an 89% on my most recent math quiz (the one I took on Friday) and I’m really proud of it? Granted, I never really did the homework for that class (I was always too tired, and the teacher rarely checks it anyway), so to get almost an A is super impressive. Who knows? With the 2% curve added at the end of every quarter, I might.. maybe.. possibly get an A? We’re probably looking at another two or three quizzes before the end of the quarter maybe? I’m not getting my hopes up because I know that I can’t get an A overall this year in math which is unfortunate, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that a) I have a bad teacher and b) math is actually really difficult this year.

Something else school-related that I didn’t mention is that I got the highest multiple choice score on the most recent test that we took in Law class (the half-year course that I started a few weeks ago), so I got the curve based on my grade, and I got a 100%. Considering the fact that I had only begun to cram for it less than twelve hours before (I didn’t even get the chance to finish the Quizlet because I was so tired), I’d say that it was a success.

To update y’all on the full ride thing: my business-friend did not get the full ride. She got the partial. I know it probably sucks in some ways (she’s dependent on her father to pay for her education which means that she has to do the pre-med track which she doesn’t want to do), but she said it’s freeing in other ways too (she doesn’t feel obligated to attend a state school (even though it’s a fantastic state school, or so I’ve heard)). I’ll be asking my puzzle-friend about his decision tomorrow.

Ok so I’m waiting on a potential decision on whether I’m a finalist for a full ride/full tuition program at my choice 3, and I just opened my email and was hit with a big ol’ “Congratulations!” from them and my heart jumped but they’re just asking me to join them in a nearby city for a mini open house. It’s possible that I won’t be a finalist for that scholarship at all which is something I’d just have to deal with, I guess. I suppose I can’t be too greedy, I already do have two full rides to choose from.

Speaking of scholarships, I haven’t check Fastweb in a while. Maybe that would be too greedy, but if I can find big money, maybe I’d be able to use it to go to one of my more expensive schools. Honestly, that seems like a waste of time and I’m not really feeling any motivation to do it, so let’s move on from that idea.

I’m wondering if I should include “Read More” links in my posts. I don’t really have much of a following (and I’m not out here trying to get followers, obviously, this is literally just a place to journal), but maybe it’d be nice not to have huge chunks of text on my page..? Even though that’s really all that I’m about, I suppose. Honestly, it’s probably not worth it at this point. No one’s complained at least lol.

Yo most of these posts are just me rambling about useless things. It’s pretty rare that I actually talk about something meaningful. It really is just a journal, but not one of those poetry blogs or anything, just a place of catharsis (also of writing and nature, two things that calm me down).

Today I’m thankful for the fact that we got out of rehearsal early. My director was planning on keeping us there for a whole extra two hours, but our run through was so good that we finished way earlier than expected and we got to go home. It’s nice to have a show that’s running so smoothly, especially after this last fall which, despite being a pretty great time for me (a lead who got to wear stilts, a crown, and a pretty cool gown) was, admittedly, a pretty hectic time for literally everyone else. It sort of actually really sucks that the new director got sacked so soon after doing his first project at my school, but, uh, it be like that sometimes? Anyway I didn’t start this thankful bit with the intent to lead to negative ideas.

Back to positivity: one of my costumes for the Spring show looks especially awesome (though there are sweat stains on it from the last time it was used and my amount of boobage currently prevents it from being closed all the way in the back (but that’ll be fixed before our run on Tuesday)) because we have an awesome costumer who really knows how to hook me up. We’re practically best buds, I swear.

I have to rush through a lot of chemistry tonight so that I’m not up late doing it tomorrow night (like last week, ugh). I’ll probably go through the homework first then watch the videos to reinforce the ideas. I also really should clean up m room before this crazy week continues, and I think I’ll do that now. I’d really like to get to bed before midnight, after cleaning my room, setting my clothes for tomorrow, packing my lunch, packing my bookbag, taking a shower, washing my face, and doing chemistry homework. Hmm... maybe one o’clock at the latest, but that’s where I’ll have to cut it off. Should I have been working on it all last week? Yes, but I was so focused on the show and I was also recovering from an all-nighter and I really was so tired. I’ve also got this crazy nation-wide test thing on Tuesday after school for Chemistry to see if I qualify for a spot in some national contest (I won’t lol), so I’ve got to get some cramming done for that, but that’ll probably be a tomorrow problem.

Time to get crackin’ (to the soundtrack of Critical Role Campaign 2 Episode 38).
