it all started late one night and he brought work home, so he's sitting in the office filing away. since you haven't seen him almost all day :( you can't help but wander into his office in desperate need of his presence. as you silently move closer to him, he peeks up at you and gives you a questioning look, and your only response is settling into his lap 🥰 hehe a lil laugh echoes through his chest and amusingly he asks, "what are you doing?"🥰 to which you just snuggle further into him, press a soft kiss on his neck and mumble, "nothing."🥰 UGH he lets out a little small laugh and doesn't question it further <333 and as he's writing, his free hand finds the small of your back and he's just rubbing it so so gently 🥺 you almost and usually do fall asleep in his lap; just so content to be so close to him and knowing there is literally no other place that could ever be as comfortable as your aaron's lap<3 and whenever you crawl onto his lap, his cheeks flush every. time. the fact that you can be so happy just sitting there in silence, just wanting to be with him, makes his heart swell with all the love possible🥺. and to both your benefit, it also gives him a reason to not stay too late at the bau. if he has work to do still, he can at least go home, do it there while you keep him company no matter how long it takes <3

and after that, no matter where you are, you're either falling onto his lap yourself or he's pulling you himself on it <3333 one night you join him and the team when they go out. upon your arrival to the usual bar they frequent, you're settling in and penelope gestures to an open spot next to her for you to take. before you can even react and much less think, aaron's immediately grabbing onto your waist and pulling you on him. AH you respond with a giggle and throw your arms around him, saying "you're right, this is my spot" 🥰 and grant him a kiss !!! meanwhile the team is all o.O but aaron couldn't care less hehe <3 like you said, this is your spot. if it's open (and it always is), that's where you'll be.

AND jack will fight you for a spot on aaron's lap too 🥺😭 hehe he's the one exception of course. you'll be lounging on aaron's lap, watching tv or something and enjoying your alone time for the time being <33 and then jack finds the two of you, crosses his little arms and gives you the cutest lil pout >:( "c'monnnn share daddy. you've had him for so longggg." and how can you say no to him?!?! but you'll make quick playful banter with him <33 you'd cross your arms right back, mimic his pout, and say you don't want to share 🙄 but since he's your baby, you'll make an exception, to which jack laughs and launches himself at the two of you <3333 whenever this happens aaron fights a smile hehe <3 watching his two favorite people fighting over him when it'll just result in family snuggles 🥹; no one is left out so there are no room for complaints <333 hehe your boys 🥹

I'm concepting things way outta order in this story, but I'm sure you can piece things together. Context is for a storybeat where, after defeating and capturing Adagio (thus having all three sirens in her possession), Sunset enacts her revenge plot to release the sirens on Canterlot as Thea discovers she's been manipulated. In a confrontation, the two scuffle and fight over the siren orbs while Sunset struggles with her conflicting wants and emotions.

I think it would really benefit people to internalize that mental illnesses are often chronic and not acute. Some of us will never be able to jump the hurdle of managing illness, much less sustaining a sense of normalcy. Many of us will never "recover," will never manage symptoms, will never even come close to appearing normal - and this is for any condition, even the ones labeled as "simple" disorders or "easy-to-manage" disorders.

It isn't a failure if you cannot manage your symptoms. It isn't a moral failure, and you aren't an awful person. You are human. There's only so much you can do before recognizing that you cannot lift the world. Give yourself the space to be ill because, functionally, you are.

One of the biggest ways young girls are exploited in the global South is via the “house girl” culture. I’m speaking on how it works in Nigeria as that is my experience but I know it happens all around the world.

“House girls” are domestic servants, usually late teens though I have seen girls as young as six or seven, employed by middle and upper class families. They do everything from cooking and cleaning to caring for the elderly and young children and get very little wages. Most times these girls never see a penny of their wages- it’s all sent to their families. In Nigeria, these girls tend to come from very impoverished families living in border towns and often times do not speak the language before being sent to these families that exploit them.

Due to their young age, lack of any family nearby or money, poor education, and Nigeria’s legal system, these girls are overwhelmingly subject to sexual abuse at the hands of their male employers. In fact there is a common trope in media of the “husband cheating with the house girl and replacing the “madam” of the house. And when these men impregnate these girls, they are sent back to their villages in shame while the cycle continues.

They also face lots of other abuse. One of my mother’s friends was a “house girl” in the 70s when she was just thirteen and she was only given mouldy food and left overs to eat for most of her childhood. she once told me of a time where she was so thirsty, she drank the dirty water her abusers had used to wash their hands. I have also seen “house girls” physically beaten by their abusers and subject to horrific punishments- once as a child I saw a very young girl forced to ride in the boot of a car while all the employers children threw their imported backpacks at her.

There have also been situations in which families immigrate and arrange to bring their house girls with them. They continue to abuse them and when these girls manage to break free, they face deportation and further exploitation.

Of course such experiences are usually less common but the hiring of house girls is not viewed as the exploitation it is. Some people, my parents included, seem to view themselves as saving these girls from their lives in the village where they would get married young and live in poverty with lots of children. But how is it saving them to deprive them of education and enslave them? It is said that it is easy to recognise a house girl: shaven heads, old and dirty clothes and a scarily small stature. They look nothing like girls who have been saved.

-loves reading and one of his favorite ways to spend time together is reading, with you or Jack or just the there of you (you love reading to your Hotchner boys, all snuggled with u)

-He LOVES having a hyperactive family. He loves nothing more than to enter the comfort of his home and hear the delighted squeals of his kids as they spring into his embrace.

-Drinks his coffee black, but will occasionally spurge on a seasonal drink. He prefers local cafes.

-loves pet names, he melts every time.

aaron's favorite part of the day is when he gets home 🥹 especially if it's been a particularly bad day :( the second his key hits the door, he can already hear all the little stampeding footsteps hurrying to greet him 😭 and before he even enters the household properly, little ones are grabbing and hugging his legs so so tightly, a chorus of some very high pitched "hi daddy! we missed you!!!!!" 's following <333

so if he wasn't in a good mood prior, those emotions are long gone now 😭 serial killers and work are the farthest thing from his mind. now he's so so smiley and excitedly greeting his babies back as he scoops everyone into his arms <333 he'll ask them how their day was, what they did at school, and everyone immediately starts talking over each other trying to share- which makes some of the littles very frustrated >:( because they can't tell their daddy about their day without being interrupted :(((((

hehe so he'll shush their loud little voices gently, reminds them to use their inside voices and take turns as they talk 🥺 so then everyone calms down a bit and smiles reappear as they tell him all about the day's activities 🥺 jack, being the best big brother, always helps calm them down too <3 and finally you come over to greet him as well <333 his face just brightens up even more at the sight of you and while everyone is still in his embrace, he gives you a kiss hello 🥰 which prompts a bunch of small ew's! but it's quickly accompanied by more laughter and your little bugs look at you with such excitement in their eyes as they tell you, again, that daddy's finally home from work <33333

and aaron's used to the hustle and bustle at work, but it's nothing compares to how it is at home, but in the best way possible !!!! hehe he loves seeing his babies so lively and chaotic (as long as everyone's being safe) and how it fills the entire home 🥹 sure it gets loud at times, but he wouldn't prefer it any other way. he can't picture life being any different 🥹 it just fills a piece in his heart he didn't even know existed until they were all born

and family cuddles!!!!!!!! after dinner, once every toy is picked up and all the dinner dishes are tucked away in the dishwasher, everyone compiles in either the big bed™ , as the littles call it, or on the couch, either reading together or watching a movie. the littles always fall asleep fairly quickly, because being a kid is hard work >:(, and ugh the sight always warms aaron's heart <3 they're either smushed onto aaron or you, deep in dreamland and the greatest sense of peace floods over him. aaron loves them, he loves knowing they're safe and protected with the two of you, and he loves you hehe <3 endlessly
