I was doing the S1 rewatch because I've seen around people complaining about Hen and Buck’s supposedly getting closer in s6 instead of seeing buddie more.
But the thing is Buck and Hen have always been close.
Hen has been the older sister to Buck from the beginning. (Not to replace Maddie, of course, but Maddie wasn't there for Buck in S1, and later, when she came, she had and still has her own problems.)
Hen talked Buck through his first wild weeks when Bobby wanted and did fire him, they played games on the tv together.
They helped Bobby through his rehab and basically developed a siblings relationship where the two of them, along with Chimney, wore Bobby down until he lowered his defenses and let them in.
A cute big sister Hen moment is when Abby comes to the firehouse for the first time and Hen is giving her the third degree, while embarrassing the hell out of Buck and seizing her up on whether she is worthy of her younger brother.
It's not for nothing that Aisha and Oliver are close, they were in this together from the beginning.
Now in S6, Eddie is just getting out of a rough patch and finally looks to be feeling better, same thing with Maddie.
The two closest people in the world to Buck are finally feeling better, and he doesn't want to burden them with his issues.
(A lot like in 5x11 when Eddie sees Buck laughing with the team and walks away because he didn't want to bring Buck's mood down - also fair chance that he was jealous of Lucy, like Buck was of Lena in S3.)
Buck originally went to Hen about the sperm donor thing because she and Karen had been there, and he wanted to know more.
But also Hen is a sounding board to Buck and an excellent secret keeper.
If we're looking farther back Hen was the one to welcome Buck back to the firehouse after the lawsuit and was also the one to stand up for him with Bobby, pointing out respectfully that Bobby is just being an overprotective dad (being respectful while calling him an idiot the entire time 😉).
Buck's connection to Hen is different than the one he shares with Eddie, for obvious reasons.
Imo, the sperm donor issue, falls under the same category as the gfs did. They don't talk about these things. I'm getting more and more convinced that for Buck, Taylor, Lucy, helping another couple to start a family, it must feel like sort of betraying Eddie.
Because they do talk about everything else, the year of possibilities, making captain, Buck's parents, Eddie’s family, everything involving Christopher, and so many other things we don't see but learn that they have talked about them.
When Eddie reluctantly tries to ask Buck about the donation, Buck looks almost traumatized lol which is the exact opposite reaction he had when he talked to Hen.
When Chimney tried to ask, Buck had a "nope, I'm not doing this with you, shut up" look.
But Eddie is different. He falls under husband category, and I will not take any arguments to the contrary.
Now the Buck and Eddie's communication and relationship this season is a whole other post.
But in the spirit of S1 parallels, Hen and Athena are finding their friendship groove again, and Buck reclaims his sibling bond with Hen again.
That doesn't make her more important than Eddie. In fact, it'll probably make her vital to the buddie pairing because if Buck confessed his love for a certain gorgeous medic/firefighter, it would definitely be to Hen.
I will hazard a guess that when Buck gets hurt and ends up in the hospital, we will most likely get a Hen trying to comfort Eddie and be with him until he can see Buck.

Here's the thing though is when Eddie gets jealous he's still kinda confident about it he's like "ahem...he's mine....move" and passive aggressive but when Buck gets jealous he just gets sad and tries to like prove why he's good at the things the other guy is good at too :(
I mean think Eddie v Taylor as opposed to Buck v Eddie or Buck v Lena. Eddie is like "just try stealing him, I'll watch, bitch, it'll be entertaining for me" but Buck is sitting in the corner listening to Jolene
I'm worried for my own empathy. I am excited for that shoulder touch moment though. That's a big one for sure. Another "there is nothing in this world" direct eye contact "hey, you are the only one here who thinks you're not enough" directly addressing it to comfort him moment. The way you see him in the picture even following his eyes. It is so 303 coded. I am excited for that. We need a "it would have been better if I was the one who got shot" to get an "Evan".
[omfg what if we get an episode 100 "Evan"]

We saw all Eddie's date with this woman, but idk why but the end of the sneak peak looks like something else gonna be here. And I have two ideas:
1. Buck is actually not with Chris, but working (remember how Eddie worked in 6x4, but Buck was with Hen drinking?) So, there's emergency and 118 here. Buck here. Sees Eddie in a date clothes, and well it's not like him can't make the conclusion. But Eddie didn't tell him about the dates. Next thing we know about Buck he thinks about dating again (if we will see he copy how he dealing with Eddie dating again. This post by @loveyourownsmiilee describe it perfectly), and in 6x15 he meets death doula and thinks he might be attracted romanticaly, but no he attracted only with her job. (Long story short: Buck is jealous babygirl gay for Eddie, but he can't show he jealous so he dates). Still possible Buck will be just attracted to her job and meets her to talk about death, but he let people believe it's dates because he's not ready to tell them the reason he sees her. But jealous Eddie doesn't need the reason to be jealous about his bestie
2. We will see a guy flirt with Eddie, and Eddie flirting back (we see him definitely alright with his orientation) or he feels good that guy flirts with him (aka blue-eyed, tall, curly guy) and Eddie has his gay panic because he wants it to be Buck. And then maybe he goes home to Buck and Chris. To continue his gay panic, Buck and Chris are super domestic when he's home, and Eddie just "Am I in love with Buck? Am I actually ready for romantic partner? And this partner is Buck?"
It just feels strange they show all the date. Like their something else there.

What if, in his dream where he isn’t a firefighter, Buck still meets Eddie (and Christopher)? What if, even in another life, Buck is destined to have Eddie in it?

If the 911 writers had written it, people would have said it was too far. But here is a list of natural disasters that just hit LA:
5.6 earthquake hitting between Santa Barbara and LA
First hurricane in 100 years hit LA
Major landslides cutting off roads (more than 6 feet deep
Firefighters & first responders cut off trying to transport & save people.
Whole city of Palm Springs cut off - all roads in/out closed.
Widespread flooding.
I mean, if they haven’t written season 7 yet….

The still that just dropped had me thinking, if the Eddie in danger theory does turn out to be true, whether or not the idea of “it took me 3 tries to get it right” that was introduced in the Buckley Diaz dinner scene in 6x01 might be at play in regards to Buck and Eddie’s relationship development. Particularly in how Buck sees/defines it. Considering both episodes were written by Andrew perhaps it could be a nod to some clarity Buck might have as a result (assuming they don’t stretch it into s7 which I could also see).Thinking back to the other times Buck had to contend with Eddie in mortal danger in 3x15 (Eddie Begins) and 4x13/4x14 (Suspicion/Survivors). Could be a reach but for some reason it just reminded me of that.
Hi Nonnie! Thank you for the ask. I assume you mean this one?
Tumblr media
Let me start by saying three is a typological number. That's a number which also has some symbolical meaning. That symbolism can be added by the specific piece of art, or it could be Three has ALWAYS been a typological number. It's the smallest number where you can both set a rule AND break it. Think for example of the folk talk where a king asks his three daughters how much they love him. First one says like gold. Second says like diamonds. They set the rule: a seemingly "good" daughter tells her father she loves him like something expensive. So now we're set to expect something similar from the youngest daughter. Except she says she loves her dad like salt, breaking the rule. On top of this, once Christianity became such a dominant religion, that added to the centrality of three as a typological numebr, since it is centered around the Holy Trinity.
My point is, since three is such a dominant typological number in society, writers are more likely to choose it when needing a random number (not just writers, psychological research has shown that humans in general are more prone to choosing typological numbers when asked to choose a number randomly). That's why I don't necessarily think three was necessarily chosen consciously for the lasagna scene to tell us something.
That said, like I outlined above, there IS a reason why three became a typological number in the first place. Writers like revisiting the same theme, and show how a character or relationship has progress by having a different outcome to the same situation. Or in other words, even if they don't do it consciously, a lot of writers will fall exactly into this pattern of showing something happen twice, and then the third time it ends differently. As usual, IDK anything for sure, but I do find it very possible that the writers will have Buddie's parallel themes of finding their happiness at the face of death reach a conclusion in an intertwined manner in the s6 finale, which would give us that change, that breaking of expectations, upon the third trial.
I hope this helps? Have a lovely day! As always, my ask tag. xoxox

I'm guessing hoping the girl is the "error", however idk what is "fun" about about endlessly putting Eddie in relationships he clearly wouldn't be if he wasn't influenced by third parties, meanwhile the entirety of the audience is tired of seeing this happening with Eddie over and over...
It's way more interesting and fun to having Eddie realize stuff by his own without resort to him repeating a dose of "poison" to realize it's actually "poisoning".

Why do you think Eddie is crying on one of the stills?
I'm thinking about this situation, where Buck risks his life to save Chimney. 👀
Tumblr media
Might be the second time this season we hear Eddie screaming Buck's name?
Tumblr media
Because he's obviously hurt, he can't help. He's literally forced to stand back, be held back by Hen, and watch what is happening.

Natalia Buddie callout this Marisol Buddie callout that yada yada yada we have been THROUGH this booooring but you know what we haven’t been over?
KAMERON CALLOUT. Give me a hormonal pregnant lady done with their bullshit not even lifting her head from her place in bed as she lazily shouts after Eddie leaves “so is that your boyfriend?”
Same vibes as the pasta. She’s just bored and tired and curious. She has no stake in it whatsoever she just also has no filter. Like if he says no she will move tf on but Buck will be thinking about it constantly and bring it back up with her like he did the couch with Bobby and she’ll have like forgotten she even said anything.
I highkey love my girl Kameron. And I want her and her husband to like be on good terms but also her being still staying with Buck in 7x01 and therefore a larger character is something I would LOVE.

Speculation 6x13
I rewatched preview 6x13 again. And maybe we actually were right about undercover poker scene where buddie trying to find info about the woman from rehab(even tho this arc "ended" in recovery). Athena said "she just got out of prison" to BOBBY. It's his neck. So this rich woman actually find a way to get out of the prison and now Bobby and Athena need to send her back, but this woman knows them and May. That's why our boys when they hear about her being free and Bobby being definitely mad about it offer to help. And that's how undercover is still a variant.
Tumblr media
@buddiefication you really wanted to speculate about it. So what do you think 🤔
P.s. I still want it to be Buck's wet dream, but I don't think show will give it to us, but I'm delusional

So I'm assuming they're gonna want us to believe Athena's Dad is the murderer? With all the drama that ensues.
But I'm guessing it'll actually turn out to be Junior's Dad, the contractor, that will be the perp. Since they made such a point of introducing Junior, talking about his Dad, and stressing the fact that he's been the one doing construction work in the Carter house since forever.
