Reviews while I watch High Card: Episode 1-2
Okay. I was just going to watch this one in my own time when I saw some images a few minutes ago. That idea lasted exactly 47 seconds. I have too many thoughts already.
So clearly some sort of war going on. And two characters talking to each other about the precedent that this war sets on their lives. One is talking about the placement in their world, and the other is fighting for the first one.
We start and get a city blown up and a guy smiling. Welcome.
Note I have no clue what this is about.
Child? With bombs? Chaos.
She can just make weapons? Like instantly?
More characters.
I am so confused.
Cards have been scattered.
Hehhhh???
Oooo. Pretty character. With weird powers. And a pretty good thief. He is going to help with the orphanage. There is the motivation.
Mystery card is a mystery.
Da shit.
OH he knew he was cheating. What’s going to happen then.
Another pretty character!
OH GOD. HE GOT TURNED INTO MARBLES!!
So the cards all turn into cool gloves that give cool powers? One turns things into marbels. One is luck. And we’re not sure what the two others do exactly.
Oh shit. the old man just died.
And he stole the card!
And my internet died.
Internet is back.
Head shot!
And now our MC brings everything out and shows us how cool he is. And his card, give him a gun?
So his focus stuff didn’t even have to do with the card. Nice.
Now this just reminds me of Moriarty the patriot.

what the hell am I watching. I am so confused but so invested at the same time. I was only going to watch the first episode today but now it will be two.
Outro is sick though.
----Episode 2----
Testing the guy’s resolve.
New vein character.
Oh, outro was the opening. Nice.
He is just drinking strange tea.
Just immediately yells at the red guy when he shows up. Man just has a gun in his mouth now. Nice.
Another guy. Big guy. With a hearts card.
So his card chose him? Does that mean only he can use it?
My internet keeps dying.
Chris really changed his tune quickly.
XD Shame he has to deal with Chris now. This should be interesting.
Shame. I hope his outlook on life gets a bit better.
HE’S ONLY 17??
The police just let them through? Nice
Oh its the tiny dude? Didn’t expect that.
He protec, He attac, but most importantly he get a neck crac.
Oh shit. He’s stuck.
When did Finn go in the water?
Existential crisis in episode 2? This show is going to go well.
Why is everyone being mean to him? He may be the weakest but he is the strongest at heart.
So we have four out of five of the main characters so far.
Oh god, what is up with the lady??
That ending is great.

If I didn’t have work tomorrow, I would continue on binging this. Sadly I can’t. This is a really fun anime that just has such a stupid concept that works surprisingly well. Looking forward to seeing more and how it twists and turns.

Why do you think they put Savannah Claw Rook up to pull??? Is he even going to participate in Book 7???? I am so confused WHY HIM??? WHY NOT IDK, CREWEL? VARGAS? MAYBE TREIN?? WHY HIM.
I’m SO CONFUSED. Is it just for money grabbing or something like that? It doesn’t make any sense.
Also how prepared you are for the probably last update of Book 7?
I mean...it said he's a story card, and all the other story cards have had major roles, so I see no reason to assume he won't as well! (plus any staff cards are probably all going to be events like Crowley was; I would honestly be MORE surprised to see them as story cards.) really though I'm having fun trying to figure out how he's going to tie into things! we're back at Cerberus Ortho levels of "WHAT DOES IT MEEEAAAAN" and it's great. :D
I assume we're going to be doing some more dream-hopping, but I think it would be hilarious if it turned out to be someone else's dream instead of Rook's. who else could possibly be dreaming about him pre-fancification.
(I'm also half afraid that this really is the last part, and half afraid that it isn't. I'm -- I'm not going to believe anything until we get the diadorm rerun pickups, and maybe not even then)
