I think the show is going to start doing better by Eddie in upcoming episodes, and I desperately hope I’m right. Some critical thoughts incoming because I just want better for Eddie.

My focus of this post is about Eddie being in a romantic relationship, although there are absolutely so many potential storylines to delve deeper into with Eddie. Trust me, I know.

I do get why Eddie was with Ana, I do. That man was still repressing so much trauma for starters, and (even now) Eddie was also feeling pressured by society and his upbringing to “give Chris another mom.” It was something Eddie felt like he should do. And hooboy does Eddie still need to work on issues surrounding things he often feels like he “should” do. We all know that Eddie stuck it out with Ana far longer than he should have (Ana is guilty of this two, cause it takes two to tango). An apt description for Eddie is that he’s “the architect of his own misery.” ← Idk who originally said this phrase, but I got it from @yramesoruniverse, and it’s true.

Speaking of misery. No matter how the show tried to paint it as something cute and good, there is nothing actually good about Marisol and Eddie. Let me explain and bear with me.

Let’s be real. The show during 6B treated Eddie’s loneliness and his subsequent desire to date as a joke. Maybe not 100%, but even 1% is too much. That montage of Eddie going hiking, playing golf (??), and hanging out at a fucking country club (?????) to find a date? That was played for laughs.

Now at one point, Eddie had a genuinely great heart to heart with Bobby. I can’t recall their conversation exactly right now since I haven’t rewatched season 6 since it aired, but I know Bobby basically said Eddie should find someone who will sit with him during the hard times (please correct me if I’m wrong).

But then the show tried to frame Eddie running into Marisol - someone he met on a call - as this spark, this magical moment. Let’s remember that in season 6 Eddie was wistfully reminiscing on his and Shannon’s beginning and called it magic. And so again, the show tried to say, “Hey look! Eddie bumping into Marisol (no last name) is meant to be. This is magic!” Then we jump into season 7 where we’ve gotten no development on Marisol still, and zero development on their relationship, unless you want to call Eddie admitting to using Marisol as a babysitter as some development. Hell, we don’t even know how Chris feels about her. With all of this in mind, to me this just looks like Eddie had grabbed onto the first person he could so he wouldn’t be lonely. If the show wanted us to care an iota about Marisol or their relationship in any capacity, they would have. But they haven’t. And that’s just heartbreaking for Eddie. All they’ve given Eddie is a surface level, nothing of a relationship.

It’s clear Eddie and Marisol are going to break up in 7x7 at the latest, and… for what? 7x5 will definitely have to do some backfilling on where and why their relationship isn’t going to work (it doesn't appear Marisol will be in 7x6). Even still, what was the point of it all?? Before anyone says it, yes Eddie is allowed to date, even casually, but GD there’s been nothing to grasp onto, you know? No reason to feel even remotely excited or happy that Eddie’s dating, specifically not with Marisol (and the actress is a shitty person) who ffs doesn’t even have a last name. Just having two attractive people in the same room does nothing for me, sorry.

To try and conclude this, this *gestures at everything I just said* is why I want better for Eddie and Ryan. I really really hope we’re going to get something of substance for Eddie as a character. Yes it’s been great to see Eddie so much happier in season 7 (thanks to therapy, though he needs more, and Buck and Tommy lbr), but, and to stick with the relationship aspect of it all, I want better for Eddie. Idk if Eddie will have or needs someone like Tommy for himself, or if Eddie is just going to work on himself before the next relationship he’s in will be Buck. We’ll have to wait and see, but yeah…. Eddie just. deserves better.

How did you become close part 1

characters: Hanayama, Retsu, Katsumi and Yujiro

On the afternoon that Saeri and Hanayama broke up (actually they only dated for about five minutes), after lunch, you lay on the desk in the classroom and stared blankly out the window, looking up at the sky, only to see a lead-grey cloud drifting leisurely across the sky. You're still thinking about what happened this morning, Saeri's courtship confession, and Hanayama's astonishing behavior, too much information for you to understand.

"Y/N, excuse me." A voice brought you back to reality from your messy thoughts.

You turned your head and looked up to see that it was Hanayama Kaoru, the protagonist of the confession incident.

After seeing who the visitor was, you straightened your back immediately and changed your prone position. For some reason, Hanayama has this kind of aura that can't be ignored, and people unconsciously respect him.

"Is it about 'that'?" you ask in a deliberately low voice, even though there aren't many people in the classroom.

"...not like that," he said. "I just wanted to ask you how to do the math homework."

Hearing this, you can't help but breathe a sigh of relief, thinking that Hanayama was here to talk to you about that incident.

"Which question do you want to ask? Let me see." Saying that you took Hanayama's math homework and found that it was all blank and didn't write a single word.

"All."

You are taken aback by Hanayama's assertive tone.

"All? There are many questions that the teacher has explained in the class."

Hanayama bowed his head in frustration. "Sorry, I don't understand... The teacher teaches too fast."

Seeing his discouraged look, you couldn't bear it, so you quickly comforted him: "No, it's okay! This is very simple, and I can teach you."

Hanayama looked up suddenly, looking at you with some sort of admiration.

"Then, I'll leave it to you." he said sincerely.

Then you ask Hanayama to bring a chair over and sit next to you because you have a hunch it will take a long time to teach him to understand.

You start with the first question:

"This question is very simple. You see, these two equations are equivalent. That is to say, the left hand side is equal to the right, so the real number on the left is equal to the real number on the right, and the imaginary number on the left is equal to the imaginary number on the right."

Hanayama frowned in confusion, so you grabbed a blank piece of paper and wrote the steps on it.

x-1=11, 2y=x

"So you understand now?" you say. "Now, all you have to do is solve the equations."

Hanayama nodded in understanding, picked up a mechanical pencil, and wrote the rest of the steps on the homework. The final answer was x=12, y=6.

You clapped your hands and encouraged, "That's right! That's amazing! It's simple, right?"

Hanayama seemed to make a realization. "You are right."

Just after he said this, when he was about to do the next question, he was punched again by mathematics.

(7z+8)(12z+6)= 2(11z+3)(12z+6)

"This...this question...how to do it?" Hanayama asked weakly.

"Let's expand and simplify the two brackets on the left hand side first." you say.

Hanayama did what you said, and it went well at first, but when he saw 7z times 6, he stopped writing, turned to look at you, and asked, "7x6 is 48... right?"

"What?"

"According to my memory..."

"No... how could 7x6 be 48?"

"But…"

Hanayama wanted to refute but was stopped by you. "7x5 is 35, so 35+7 won't be 48..."

"But--"

"There is no point in persisting on this question any longer, is there?"

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm not lying to you! Math is math! It doesn't lie to you!"

"I clearly remember that 7x6 is 48."

You‘re frustrated, "Think! Hanayama. Think! Four 7 is 28, five 7 is 35, and six 7 is what?"

Hanayama became expressionless. He turned his eyes away for a moment, stared at the sky in a trance, then looked at you again. "48, it's 48."

You got infuriated, stood up from your seat, stepped on your own chair, grabbed Hanayama's collar with one hand, and yelled at him, "Don't you fucking underestimate math!! I say 42 is 42! Write the fuck down! You fucking idiot!!"

The focus of the whole class was on you for a moment, and since then, there has been a legend in the street that a female high school student dared to grab the collar of Hanayama Kaoru, who is known as "Japan's strongest fighting expert", and yelled at him. The angry appearance of the girl's high school is like a demon and is called "Demon Face" by the world.

Subsequent:

You know it's rude to shout insults like this, so you immediately let go of Hanayama's collar and apologize. Hanayama didn't get mad and offered to invite you to dinner as a thank-you for your teaching.

The two of you became friends and became closer, and studied together in the cafe on weekends (mostly went to the maid cafe).

After you and Hanayama have become more frequent appointments, for some reason, when you walk down the road, the delinquents and the scary-looking people are respectful to you and even run away from you. As weird as you might think, it doesn't interfere with your daily life, so you quickly put these things behind you.

"Don't you want to go out for a walk?"

"I know, I know, you just want to drive me away. I am such a sensitive and soft-hearted woman, I can't live well myself, and I can't love others well. Alas, even my own mother hates me."

"I'll give you ten thousand yen to buy something."

"Okay, thank you, mom, for your strong support. I'll go to the bookstore now."

Mother smiled, "Is it cool to go to the bookstore now?"

"I pride myself on not knowing what's cool to do." you reply.

After you eat, take a shower, and change your clothes, you go to the DemonBack Department Store by car. The DemonBack Bookstore is on the fourth floor of the DemonBack Department Store, but you first go to the food court on the second floor to buy a cup of bubble milk tea and then go to the fourth-floor bookstore.

As soon as you arrive at the bookstore, you immediately go to the manga area, and not to see ordinary manga, but BL manga, and it is the super erotic kind of BL manga.

Although you are underage, the clerks here never ask your age or ask to see your ID card. They just give you a scrutiny look, then quickly check out for you, and then put the manga in a paper bag.

Katsumi took the manga from Retsu's hand and roughly read the contents. After reading it, he calmly closed the book and handed it to your hands.

You turned your head. "...Please don't tell my parents."

"As long as you practice hard, we won't tell your parents." Retsu grabbed your right arm tightly. "You'll work hard, right? Don't miss class too often." He released his hand and patted you on the shoulder.

"I will..." You nodded obediently.

"We know your deepest darkest secret now." A playful grin spreads across Katsumi's face.

"You are so despicable now!" You turned your head again and grumbled at Retsu, "Retsu-san, hurry up and scold Katsumi! He's bullying me!"

Retsu kept pursing his lips and grinning while you and Katsumi spoke ill of each other.

In the end, you still bought the "Painter of The Light" smoothly, and it was a lot of fun to watch it that night.

One sunny afternoon, you and Sasaki agreed to play in the park, but since you arrived early, you first went to the small garden at the back of the park and quietly observed the big orange cat living there.

"Y/N, what are you doing here?"

A certain voice sounded behind you. You turned your head, and what caught your eye was Yujiro's face.

You look up at him. "Ah, it's you, Yujiro."

"What are you doing?"

"I'm looking at this fat cat. Don't you even know what a cat is?"

"Don't take me for a fool!" Yujiro frowned.

"I didn't take you for a fool!"

"I'm not the kind of vulgar boy who will be regarded as an idiot by you who likes such a corny creature." Yujiro finished without gasping for breath.

"Don't think of me as an idiot!" You exploded.

"What? It's rare for you to talk back."

"You have to interrupt every time I want to play with Sasaki. Why are you always being so mean to me?"

"Because you're too cheesy."

"No, no," said the two voices in unison.

You and Yujiro turn their heads and see two boys who look exactly the same but in different clothes standing next to you. These two are twin brothers Misawa, your classmates.

Yujiro looked at the twins in dissatisfaction and said in a sour tone: "What are you two doing?"

"What's your name?" the twin older brother Misawa Yuu asked.

"Do you have a name?" younger brother Misawa Shingo asked again.

"Of course, my name is Yujiro." Yujiro hummed.

"You are wrong, Yujiro." Yuu said.

"It's you who is at fault, Yujiro."

"What did I do wrong?! Can you two stop keep saying the same thing over and over again!"

"You like Y/N, right?" the twins whispered in Yujiro's ear.

Yujiro blushed. "Liar! How is it possible!!"

"Please don't call us liars." said the twins.

"What the hell is going on with you two?" Yujiro said, "This is the first time you've met me. How dare you to talk like this to me?"

"Even when I first met you, I knew who you were just by looking at your face." Yuu said.

"How do you know who he is?" 'Shingo snapped back.

"It doesn't matter who he is!"

"Don't treat people like idiots!"

"This Yujiro must be an idiot!"

Hearing the quarrel between the twins, the big orange cat had run away long ago. Your smile instantly evaporated, and you yelled at the two of them: "You two, don't go too far, Yujiro is my cousin! And the cats are scared away by you two!"

Yujiro stared at you intently and whispered, "Y/N..."

"Y/N scolded me. I'm going back." Yuu and Shingo said in unison, "Goodbye."

After saying that, the two brothers left.

"What are these two doing here..." you muttered.

"Y/N!" Sasaki's voice came.

"Sasaki!" Your face suddenly burst into a smile, and your voice became much sweeter.

"Shall we go for a swing?" Sasaki suggested.

You nod your head. "Sure♡!"

"Ah," Sasaki looked at Yujiro, who was speechless, "Yujiro, you're here too. Do you want to play together?"

Yujiro scoffed. "I don't want to play such a corny game. Goodbye."

Having said that, Yujiro left with a lonely pace.

"What's wrong with Yujiro? He seems sad." Sasaki asked, a little worried.

You wave your hand and say, "Don't worry. He isn't that fragile."

"You better go look after him. He doesn't look very well."

Under Sasaki's push, you go to Yujiro eventually.

You found him by the river bank when you were standing not far behind him and heard him say to himself, "I like Y/N? what a joke! I'm Hanma Yujiro. How can I possibly like her?"

"Oi, Yujiro." You finally said.

Yujiro turned his head suddenly and looked at you in panic, "Y/N?! You, did you hear it?"

"What are you doing here? Do you think you are a tragic heroine in a girl's manga? It's disgusting."

"I… aren't you playing with Sasaki?"

"Because you suddenly said you were going back."

"I'm going home tomorrow."

You are kind of happy. "Huh? Are you serious? Why? Goodbye then."

"You're so cold. You really hate me, don't you?" Yujiro looked at you resentfully.

"I didn't."

"Liar, you obviously hate me!"

"I just say I don't hate you."

"You obviously hate me!"

"Yeah, I hate you."

Yujiro chuckled to himself, "Really? Sure enough, I seem to really like you."

"Eh?"

"But you don't have to worry about it. It's just that a man from out of town was dumped by a woman he shouldn't love... There was once such a man, and all of this is just like this." Yujiro whispered.

You are relieved that you have no clue what is going on now, "What, it's just like this!"

"Y/N, you idiot! Farewell!" Yujiro turned around.

"Yujiro, take care!" You shouted towards Yujiro's lonely back.

While it may seem like it has absolutely nothing to do with "How did you become close," this actually plays a significant role in your future with Yujiro.

20240218: the History of LEGO Castle day 049. 6057-1 Sea Serpent (1992, 128 pieces, 53 different parts) The Sea Serpent is a blue and black boat with a red bottom and a white sail with a red dragon print. The bow of the boat has a long plate with a red dragon plume and the two red dragon visor wings while the stern has a 2x2 hard plastic flag with a blue dragon with yellow wings on a red background with a blue border. There are a number of parts seen in this set for the first time: -This is the fourth boat in the castle theme so far and the first one with a cloth sail. The cloth sail is unique to this set. -This is the first and only use of the 6x6x1 boat bow brick in a castle set. -The black 2x2x9.66 mast is also only seen in this one castle set, though it is found in eight other pirate and town sets. This mast is also not used in any other colors in any other castle sets. -Though the 2x2 boat stud tile came out in 1991, this is the first use in a castle set. -This is the only set across all of LEGO with a blue 4x8x2 castle turret top, and this is the first use of that part in a castle set. -The 2x2 hard plastic flag with a blue dragon with yellow wings on a red background with a blue border only comes in three other sets (6085-1 Black Monarch's Castle, 6086-1 Black Knight's Castle, and 1888-1 Black Knights Guardshack). -The ovoid dragon shield only comes in five other sets plus a service pack. -The dragon plumes only come in four colors in five other sets and three service packs. -This was the first use of the 7x6 wedge plate in a castle set. Rebrickable user platic.ati made another boat as an alternate build and shared the instructions on Rebrickable. This continues to be a favorite boat throughout the castle fandoms and it's easy to see why. This is a very cool boat! It's the first one where you can actually get a good boarding party and where the minifigures actually have a little bit of room to move around. There are some OSHA concerns, though, with the gaping hole in the stern where the person who steers the sails stands, but it's still a great build :) Parts inventory for this set can be found on BrickLink or Rebrickable and a free download of the instructions is available on ToysPeriod.

Buddie: Eddie supports Buck in everything!

Here's one of the many reasons why Buddie is endgame!

One of the many things I noticed during the beginning scenes of 7x6 that heavily included Buck and Eddie was Eddie’s undying and never-ending devotion to Buck. He's always been like that so it wasn't a surprise to me but IMO, apparently, TM wanted the new viewers to see it too. Also, it was probably included as a reminder for those who've been watching but may have forgotten.

Here's what I mean.

Chimney clearly said he didn't want a bachelor party and he said it so EVERYONE could hear it, including Eddie.

But Buck was adamant about it and he wouldn't give up (in 5x2 Eddie said it to Buck that he never gives up and Buck learned that from Chris in 3x1 - 3x2 when they were talking before and after the Tsunami). Eddie knew Chimney didn't want one but he never dismissed Buck’s intentions of wanting to do something that he believed Chimney should experience. It's who Buck is and Eddie knows him to his CORE and so much so that he indulged him by not only suggesting they go as Crockett and Tubbs from Miami Vice but also he was the only one who complied with Buck's wishes and came in an 80s costume.

He was the first person there and he made sure Chris was cared for so he wouldn't miss it. And he was THE ONLY ONE IN ATTENDANCE WHO STAYED WITH BUCK ALL NIGHT. They partied like it was 1999!

Eddie’s love and support for Buck was on full display and it's what he needs in a life partner. Buck doesn't need someone who just wants to kid and son him and who doesn't support him in EVERYTHING the way his supposed LI is doing. T*mmy didn't even try to oblige him and his response was nonchalant and stand-offish like he thought it was ridiculous. Also, him being on standby didn't have anything to do with it since they have to CHANGE CLOTHES WHEN THEY GO TO WORK ANYWAY. Hello, they wear uniforms.

My point is Eddie’s still waiting for Buck to get it. He gave him his heart years ago but he's patiently giving him the space and the time he needs to realize it on his own. He's supportive and he doesn't dismiss him and most importantly, he loves Buck unconditionally and that's what makes BUDDIE THE SUPERIOR SHIP.

They have spent years loving each other and being there for one another and IMO, it's the reason why TM is putting them front and center in every episode. He said he was going to show their "coupling" (his word) and that's what he's doing. Anyone watching should be able to see they're PERFECT for each other. Also, there's no denying how much chemistry they have and they haven't even kissed yet. But trust when they finally do kiss on screen, it's going to be EVERYTHING because all the years they've spent loving each other will pour out of their hearts and they'll put their all into it. It will be the most satisfying of beginnings for them. They will be each other's last everything and they'll grow old and spend the rest of their lives together.

They've built a life and a family for the past six years that's based on trust, love and devotion and if the Diaz parents showing up in a future episode is any indication of what's to come, I believe Eddie's WILL is about to come into play in a big way and there won't be any room for Eddie to deny what it means. It was a love confession and he did it in the best way he knew how at the time. He loves Buck and Buck loves him and that's what matters.

They're in love with each other and they share something greater than a couple of on screen kisses since they've been sharing a life and a family for the past six years.

They're best friends.

They're soulmates.

TREEHOUSE CONCERNS / GROWING TOGETHER

Currently prepping my playtest household for “Growing Together”

It’s a 3-story house, based in Willow Creek and I already have some issue. See, the pink square is where the future treehouse is suppose to come. ITS HUGE. From what I’ve could count from the stream preview, it should be a 6x6 or 7x6 object (for pathway). As most of us build on a 30x20 lot, it’s quite a challenge to fit...

I don’t know if sims will struggle on the pathway if objects are close to it (As the need space for the slides). Sometimes it works, others it doesn’t. As we still don’t know how Sims walk around it, I have to anticipate.

Quick fix ? 1. Push away the trees and insert them in the bushes (things I hate, for realism concerns, but, you know) / 2. Reduce the driveway of one square, verticaly and two horizontaly. 3. Mostly use DEBUG items around it as Sims can cross them without issue.

I’m really looking foward this item as it’s something I love in the previous iterations. But they could have made a smaller/less ambitious one as playground objects in this game are all of them so big. With mostly 30x20 lot in our map, it’s quite a non-sens as the house will already most likely take two third of the space. Not everyone play on huge lot, and most simmers are not builders and do not like to do it OR feel overwhelmed when starting to do it.

I love building but I realize I’m just a small part of the simmer and they should have made a smaller version of it, even for small budget sims or.. I don’t know.

I’m still very curious oft it, and I’ll let you know if my pink square is filled accordingly. EITHER WAY, if you plan to put this item on your lot, I advise you to do not do it on a 30x20 like me but AT THE VERY LEAST, a 40x30.

I chose a 30x20 for the building challenge aspect of it.

Also, too bad the trees are already attached to the object, and we couldn’t change them. I don’t like their roots... I wonder if they are also affected by seasons changes.

Really love that we will have at least 2 episodes about the madney wedding. As I see it 7x5 is bachelor/bachelorette parties and 7x6 is wedding episode

But now with the way buddie looks in still I'm sure we will have some kind of big line of emergency before madney will kill us with the most beautiful and cute ceremony

My initial Spoiler Thoughts (as I was watching) for 7x6 ✌️

I laughed so much at the bachelor party stuff. Eddie and Buck share one brain cell istg. “Let’s get an Uber!” 😅 At their core they are best friends and it shows. 🩷

Eddie “we’re fire fighters” and then kicks in a door. 🤠 Hey if the Buckley parents are footing the bill on that disaster room, then fine with me!

Screw you Mr Buckley. His name is Buck, he’s told you this before. Only Maddie and Tommy are allowed to call him Evan.

Chimney didn’t want a bachelor party and I’m with him. Buck should have listened, but tfgvhjbkbhj Chimney described Buck as “like asking a dog to stop humping your leg” or something. 💀 Realistically and logistically they’d have the party like a week before the wedding and not literally the night before.

Buck is straight (heh) up a bridezilla. We knew, but oh my god hahahaha. 😆

Sassy Tommy. “They had henley’s in the 80s.” <3

So the Buckley parents wanted the big wedding for Maddie. She let them go with it, but she and Chimney wanted something small. Hmmm.

Eddie’s plus one at the hospital wedding was his Abuela, he’s so real for that. She actually matters gvhjbjbh.

Screw you Mrs Buckley. I saw that judgy face when seeing Buck with a man.

Damn, excellent job by the editors in this episode. It all went by rather quickly, but that’s because the whole episode was so engaging. The pacing was brisk, but not rushed either.

Another well balanced episode of having highs of silliness and laughter, and then having plenty of serious moments. That’s skill.

Really enjoyed this episode! 🙂 Still kinda processing it all, but Maddie and Chimney are married y’all!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
