it is kinda funny tho that so many people missed the very blatant message of the movie about how easy it is for people to turn on each other when they dont have all the answers .... and they missed this because they wer too angry about not having all the answers

#Those Beyond The Wall #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #space between worlds sequel!!! honestly I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it….. In general I enjoyed it and I think it had #a lot of important things to say but also maybe highlighted some weaknesses(?) in both books?#or - I guess just the fact that the sff stuff (which skews a little more magicy here) is kinda small scope relative to its potential #and more there to serve the plot and characters. Which actually maybe is the point. idk- there's def mixed reviews lol #it has a messy unlikable MC (like actually - when half the weak ass reviews are saying the MC is annoying you know they are Actually a #complex character) and some interesting relationship dynamics #it is pretty solidly a sequel - I wouldnt read this without reading TSBW #cara does show up in here& tbh her characterisation felt quite different to me? unsure how I feel about that? but maybe it's the biased POV #also to be clear: polyam MC; not a polyam romance or anything #(there's - kinda a romance? or various feelings floating around and she 'ends up' with someone. feel like i would have liked that to end #more subtley but that's probably my personal taste lol)#man some of the 1 star reviews of this are kinda.....just racist though. can we get some measured critique in here #as I said i am not entirely sure how I feel about it but not quite in a way I can articulate.... idk! i think it's worth the read tho #it's maybe one of those revolutions that feels solved a little too easily in the end - but then also is it solved or is it just that the #narrative has to end at a certain point

we just discovered that the landlord of the apartment complex we recently moved out of somehow got all the negative reviews of the business scrubbed off google and bribed the CLEANER who cleaned our apartment after we left to leave its now sole 5-star review

certainly there is some kind of legal violation in doing this?

am i the only one who thinks the tumblr blackout thing thats been going around isnt a good idea. like if this is trying to copy the reddit protest then its not gonna work because reddit is completely different from tumblr. im bad at wording my thoughts but like reddit is basically user run so if a few hundred people decide to close their communities then half the site goes down. but tumblr doesnt work like that if a few hundred or even a few thousand people stop going on tumblr nothing is affected? so i dont understand how this is an effective protest strategy at all especially considering tumblr protests like this HAVE been done in the past and they always result in nothing. i dont see how this one is gonna be any different especially with how poorly organized it is. and im not saying you shouldnt try to protest at all just that you should come up with a different way of doing it

also its kinda weird to me that people are being careful to not interrupt pride month with this but have no issue with doing it during disability pride month and telling people to not post about it at all.. like do you think disability pride is less important so its ok to try to cancel it or something. because its certainly coming off that way

#i swear every few years people try to do a tumblr blackout or tumblr walkout or whatever #and then immediately forget that it didnt get anything changed #i feel like it would be better to spam the app with 1 star reviews and stop spending money on checkmarks and merch and blazes and such #like idk if that would change much either but its certainly better than going ''hey guys lets stop posting for a few days''

You literally cannot trust booktok & I'm trying not to give into their recs, this whole time I thought The Poppy War was a lesbian war romance (there is no romance, apparently it's just percieved this way bc of shipper brainrot) bc that's how ppl always described it, and when I went to check the goodreads reviews for a different book, the first 1 star review talks about its cultural inaccuracies & xenophobia
