Yandere Leviathan; who didn't seem half as dangerous as his brothers, but oh goodness he knew his way around words. Lucifer was the manipulator, and Leviathan is the best at gaslighting.
Yandere Leviathan; who is a sucker for attention, all while hating it. But if that attention is from you, how can he resist? Levi is like a snake, he can be very cunning and manipulative at times. Acting innocent? Granted. Sneaking around? Yes. No one disturbs him in his room, no one knows what goes on with him, and most of all, many just see him as a Ruri-chan obsessed freak. This gives him enough space to plant his plans.
Yandere Leviathan; who can't express his affection with tender touches and sugar coated words. Though... he can do it by isolating you and spending time with you all the time. Doesn't it sound fun? You'll probably end up with online classes and TSL marathons instead of actually studying! It must sound like a dream come true, no matter what.
Yandere Leviathan; who is always jealous, no matter what. He's the avatar of envy for a reason. Even if he doesn't know or acknowledge it, everyone have noticed him glaring at the poor demons daring to talk to you or breath in your way.
Yandere Leviathan; who allows you to go as far as befriending Lotan and taking care of Henry. You're his Henry too, on a whole another level and scale. Of course he would want his only companions seeing his beeloved.
Yandere Leviathan; who takes pictures of you without you even noticing. And even if you do, he's quick to make excuses. You would believe him, wouldn't you? Because there's no reason to get suspicious over his stuttering.
Yandere Leviathan; who easily hacks through all of your devices and goes unnoticed by Lord Diavolo. Lucifer might find out, but he would never question Levi. No one would ever disturb him, because they fear him more than they let on.
Yandere Leviathan; who will call you a 'normie' and shut you out of his room, because anytime he sees you, his fantasies get even wilder than other times. He does think of you when you're not around, 24/7, all the time, but when you are near, those thoughts go skyrocket. And as much as he wants you, he doesn't want to hurt you or make you sad.
Yandere Leviathan; who doesn't want to hurt you (as stated above) but will hurt anyone who look your way, who dare look at you and breath in your scent. And sometimes, if you annoy him a lot and make him too jealous, he'll go feral. And in that moment, he wouldn't mind hurting you, showing you that you're only his, and then justifying his actions in a way that you'll crave him more and more.
Yandere Leviathan; who is quick to clean up. The third born hates messes, or just getting dirty. So before you know it, your friends will disappear from your sight. Before you know it, you're left alone. And before you know it, the only option left is him.

The Accidental Matchmaker by notboldly (AOS) - it's valentine's day on the enterprise and spock receives an unexpected note. this had me muttering "oh spock" (affectionate) under my breath as i read
emotionally compromised by thesorrowoflizards (AOS) - an extremely thoughtful and poignant rewrite of the bridge scene in the 2009 movie. gen not slash, but who needs sex when you get the vulnerability of tos spock in aos spock?
Between Me and You by Solid_Medical_Advice (TOS) - ONE BED! need i say more? well, i will anyway. this fic has a touch of angst but it's mostly fluff and feelings and is terribly soothing

Okay, so I'm listing my all-time favorites below (mostly on FFN since it's been YEARS since I've been plugged into this fandom).
As for my stuff *buries head* this ridiculous ass fic that I wrote when I was FOURTEEN is my main claim to fame (it's trash but also still kinda slaps?). BUT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A TON OF NEW STUFF. I have six fics coming out this month through the @romione-trope-fest (btw the best active Romione writers are participating in that fest, so you should definitely follow it if you haven't been already! Here's the AO3 collection for the fest.).
ALSO I saw that you are a Renaissance fan. I have one that's 50% done called "Virgo's Groove" and it takes place in the seventh book when Lupin announces Teddy's birth. I can share a snippet tomorrow if you'd like 🙂

Seven Simple Years by HalfASlug (FFN): Best Romione missing moments series ever. I think HalfASlug has the best Ron voice. Everything she's ever written for Romione is worth reading.
Moments by Armaysha (FFN): Another missing moments (I'm a sucker for those) that I feel kind of mixed about, even though it's still one of my favs. The writer has a different take on Romione than most of the fandom. It generally works IMO, but some of the choices she made I really didn't understand. But what she did well, she did really, really well.
I Must Not Tell Lies by TMBlue (FFN): I think this is the best one-shot of Romione's first fuck. TMBlue is GREAT at writing Ron and she's like the queen of Romione smut.
Six Foot of Ginger Idiot by Pinky Brown (FFN): This classic is HBP from Ron's perspective. Pinky Brown is another iconic Ron writer. You can't go wrong with anything she's written, but Biscuits (her missing moments series starting in Book 1) starts dragging in the last few chapters IMO.
Australia by MsBinns (FFN): Post-war series, arguably the greatest Romione fic of all time. To be totally honest, I didn't finish it because it does kind of drag. But I'm always meaning to get back into it. Just know that it's heavy.
Love Me Forever by Aloemilk (AO3/FFN): I JUST read this and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a post-war series that has a great mix of angst, trauma, and fluff (lighter than Australia). The slow burn from Romione's first kiss to a full-fledged adult relationship is perfect and the smut is SO GOOD. Reminds me of the time I stumbled upon porn that made me ugly cry (in a good way?)
Not single fics but thesecondself and realmer06 (both on FFN, although realmer06's next gen stuff is also on AO3) are my favorite one-shot writers.

Why I love it: I feel like a lot of Lestappen fic focuses on Charles' emotions, whereas this one does a wonderful job at capturing Max's inner turmoil. It portrays him as vulnurable, without making him weak.

Long story short: Lestappen are forced to go on a road trip together.
Why I love it: It's the perfect fun summer story and Charles' lovable-annoying side comes out.

Long story short: College AU with a lot of shared history.
Why I love it: Through all the ups and downs, the invisible string that pulls them towards one another is always there.

Why I love it: There are stories that are simply insanely creative and a pure joy to read. This is one of them.

Hey! In one of your recent posts abt mcr's last show for this tour leg you mentioned that they're filming a documentary... do you have any more info on that? I'm such a sucker for that kind of behind-the-scenes content and another proper mcr docu will genuinely let me die happy
this is so weird because during the europe tour this was the Big Conspiracy that they were filming a documentary and we talked about it 24/7 ABDJSB but yes!! they’ve been professionally filming a good amount of the shows, particularly the bigger ones from the US leg, and they spent a solid few months interviewing a ton of fans! they also have a total media blackout on mcr right now probably 1. cause they hate interviews 2. to give them more creative room 3. to be able to tell their own stories.
we don’t know what they’re filming exactly, but we do know it’s far more than just a recorded show and a promo. so far those filming have been asked what they’re making (like back in may of 2022 lol) and they’ve vaguely responded with ‘documentary of fans’ and shit like that lol. but yes!! they’re filming something and we call it the doc!

Hello, I hope im not bothering you, but I can't help and ask. I know you said you had thoughts and to wait the end of the season, but not gonna lie, I feel suckered punched. I tried not to have hope, but still after all the promos ( I know most of them weren't official, but still...) and I wanted to know your opinion/feeling about it all. Im also using this ask to tell you that your posts and tags make me smile a lot, so I also wanted to thank you for that it gave me company in this fandom even thought I dont dare and reach out except now...
Okay, darling, first of all, thank you, I'm happy I can be a positive presence in the fandom for you. Second, I'm gonna be as diplomatic as I can here. One, I think some reactions the fandom has don't need to reach the people they are about, and it is shitty to put an actor in that type of position, even more when not something he said. Second, I think Ryan proved why he was in pr jail, because, well, they are in damage control mode, because considering the way queerbaiting is leading people to believe there will be a romantic relationship when that was never the plan, and like it or not, the things Ryan said paired with the new things that have been said, could be read as queerbaiting. Please notice I said could. We are dealing with an ongoing story, so anything is a possibility. Buddie is in the middle. I think contextually they make sense together, but I also think that they wrote themselves into a corner. I made a whole post about that you can read all my thoughts here, but the short version is that the stakes are too high. They can't not know the potential love story they have on their hands, BUT the potential they have of being one of the best slowburns in television makes it that much harder to actually write that payoff if there wasn't a plan in place and they accidentally did that by playing off of Oliver and Ryan's chemistry. They did establish Buck and Eddie as family, and yes, their bond is stronger than one would expect of two best friends, but while I think it would be unsatisfying, leaning into the family angle without making it romantic will always be a possibility. One of the logistical problems with getting Buck and Eddie together is that, unlike bathena and madney, they work together, so you either need to get one of them out of the 118 or you need to acknowledge their relationship every episode they are both in, and that is complicated in a show with 7 main characters. There's also the issue that the foundation they have laid out for buddie doesn't really allow for them to use the usual tricks to keep slowburns interesting because most shows tend to have issues with slowburns once the tension is resolved, and the build-up with buddie is high. Whether the build-up was intentional or not, you can recontextualize the show to make it seem like this has been building, it's what allowed me to write 4k words on how Eddie has been in love with Buck since 2x04 just by playing with the perspective around them. And you can very easily do the same with Buck. That kind of expectation is not good since it's not the buddie show. The show is not only about Buck and Eddie, but to put buddie in situations as an established couple could make the show about them because, since they are always together, there will be an expectation around showing them being a couple all of the time that they might not know how to work with because there isn't really another television couple that would fit in their category. Even if we compare them to shows like castle, the mentalist, bones, the couple are the main characters, so it's okay if the couple is taking away from the rest of the show, and honestly, all 3 of those shows kinda tanked their own build-up for a while there. And Buck and Eddie literally have a legal document binding them together, for all intents and purposes they have a child together, and they are best friends, so there's this expectation around them if they ever get to be a couple that they will be a good couple. You can't have them fumbling around much in the way other slowburns do because they are solid. So there's also the issue of keeping them interesting because television writers don't like letting couples have peace.
Sure there are issues you can place on buddie to "spice things up" if they think they got boring resolving the tension, like playing with the sexuality angle, or the abandonment issues Buck, Eddie, and even Chris have, but they are not things you can really drag out. They work in the immediate aftermath of them getting together, but then they would have to get creative and they probably don't know how to get there. But why am I talking about the logistics of the couple in the big picture? Well, I think Ryan has been playing Eddie as at least a little bit in love with Buck the whole time he's been playing Eddie, my main argument for that is that he has the same reactions for Buck that he had for Shannon (post on that here), so Ryan could very much just gotten comfortable and said his interpretation of Eddie's feelings for Buck without it being something he was explicitly told. Both Ryan and Oliver said Buck and Eddie are getting closer this season, so "trying to give the people what they want" could very much just be what Ryan himself is trying to do with the text he's being given. It could be that the marketing team didn't think the fans would react to what he said like that and that's why he was allowed to say it. They could be backtracking because Buck and Eddie are getting together and what Ryan said would be a spoiler. Or they could be baiting us to raise the ratings. Every angle here is possible. We only watched one episode of the season so far. We don't know where the story is going yet. It could be going anywhere. It could be going somewhere. Maybe by the end of the season, we will have something explicitly canon on buddie. Maybe they fucked up and the people calling queerbaiting will be somewhat justified because, honestly, I'm getting teen wolf cons flashbacks here. I do think it's fucked up that people are expecting Oliver to deal with something Ryan said. I do think emotions are running high because of many things that happened in the past 2 weeks. I don't think it is fair to scream queerbaiting yet. But I do unfortunately think we might get there if they keep raising the stakes between Buck and Eddie on the show with no payoff while letting Ryan say things like the things he's been saying. For me, the important thing to remember is that the story is in the middle, we don't know where the show is gonna take Buck and Eddie individually and together, so I think everyone needs to take a breath and stop acting like the show already ended and wait to see where it's gonna go.

BTS Tutorial: SPOTIFY
Streaming on Spotify (whether it is via the web player on a laptop or tablet, the app on your phone, etc.) is a great way to help BTS members’ songs chart on Billboard and for other awards.
However, the rules about what qualifies keep changing, so it’s important to stay up to speed with what “counts” toward the charts and what simply counts towards streaming numbers.
First things first: It’s a good idea to make yourself at least three extra fandom-related emails. These will be useful for streaming, voting, and promoting things on social media to help your members’ work do well. It also puts another layer between you and an advertising spam from certain apps.
Just as some random examples:

Next up: If you don’t already have a premium Spotify account, by March 22nd, go ahead and sign up for a free 30-day trial for each of your emails. Spotify will remind you beforehand that it’s time to cancel or be charged. Premium account streams count THREE TIMES faster toward Billboard charts.
For every 1,250 streams on your premium account, it counts as 1 album sale. If you use a free account, it takes 3,750 streams to count as 1 album sale.
A premium account also means you can get through playlists faster, without having to sit through 90 seconds of commercials. That matters when we are trying to hit goal numbers in the first day and week that something drops.
Go ahead and follow Jimin on each of your Spotify accounts, and save Jimin-focused playlists (you can do that by searching for them, dragging them over to the sidebar in your LIBRARY, and clicking the like button <3). More on playlists in a bit.
There are some rules to follow, to make sure your streams don’t get filtered out of charting.
When it’s time to stream singles and all of FACE, you’re going to want to click on a playlist that has his songs listed in order about 20 times, with filler songs in between.
A great playlist will have a healthy amount of Jimin songs and BTS songs in general to help reach other milestones. You don’t have to mix songs from other artists in; we can keep these streams in the family.
After the 20th time you play a song in your account that day, it stops counting for a chart.
That’s when you logout of one Spotify account and login to your next. Repeat the playlist. Click around every 90 minutes so Spotify knows you’re not a bot.
Try to do this with, like, three or four accounts a day. If you can manage five accounts in the first 24 hour period, that’s 100 streams for Jimin’s songs. That's a goal I'm setting for myself because I also have to work that day.
If you can’t handle all that, and you can only use one account to chart because life is hectic—hey, it’s better than nothing. Also don’t despair: after the first 20 times you play a song, any other times you play it still counts as streams under the artist’s profile, but will be filtered out of chart data. So after the first week, feel free to put on a long playlist when you need to be away from keyboard.
If you have a desk job or can have your phone with you throughout the day, it’s just super easy to plug in some headphones and cycle through all your accounts while you get other shit done, so you capture unfiltered streams.
If you are celebrating Ramadan, please make choices that honor yourself and your beliefs--I think Jimin would want that. Some of my friends are choosing to stream with headphones and simply not listen until April 23rd. They have tremendous willpower and I give them mad respect. You do what you need to do, okay?
Try not to stress too much; just do your best.
If you are using Spotify, keep in mind that you need to immediately go into your settings and turn off Autoplay. Turn that sucker off in each of your accounts and keep it off.
Please always like and follow the artist’s profile page on Spotify. You will now count toward his “monthly listeners.” Here’s Jimin linked below (and follow the other members and BTS as a whole too while you’re at it!):
Third, if you’re on VPN, turn it off. I have a work computer I use for work on VPN and a home computer I use for streaming without a VPN.
If you have to use VPN on your only computer, then please use the Spotify app on your phone.
Now, to playlists:
When you are playing a song, keep the volume at 51% or higher. Stick some headphones into your device and that way the noise level won’t bother others.
(They SAY they aren’t tracking the volume on your devices, so much as the volume in the platform settings—I say why risk it? Stream at 51% volume inside the app and your device and rest easy.)
Second of all, let’s pretend we are trying to chart the song VIBE. You need to have at least 2-3 filler songs in between every time VIBE is in your playlist. Those songs need to be 60 seconds or longer. (On occasion, after 30 seconds, you can skip that song and get back to VIBE, but don’t do it too much or you look like a bot.)
You cannot just loop. You cannot just put VIBE VIBE VIBE VIBE VIBE back to back in your playlist. That is bot behavior and you will get filtered.
Don’t shuffle your songs or playlists. If you shuffle, you could end up playing songs back to back by accident and then they don’t count. Try to play an album in the order that the member created it.
The only exception to this is the first 24 hours; prioritize the lead track and singles if your time is limited and you must prioritize for Hot 100.
Every 90 minutes or so, you need to interact with your Spotify playlist. Click pause. Click a different song. Slide the volume bar (then put it back at 51%). Go forward and backward during a song. Like a song. Be a bit random. Try to act like a human, not a bot.
Not only are you wasting time if you get filtered as a bot, but the last thing we need is to damage Jimin's reputation by having antis scream we bought his streams. Act human.
Your playlists can be as long as you like; just keep in mind that after 20 plays of a song in that account, it will be filtered. I have a laptop I dedicate just to streaming and I have some playlists I put on for 9+ hours at night while I sleep, but that’s to help the number of streams; I know it won’t count towards charting. If I'm not sleeping, I'm cycling through accounts and streaming.
Sharing a song helps it chart on Spotify Viral. Play the song you want and then click on the three vertical dots next to it, click on Share, and put it on the social media app of your choice. Takes a few seconds. Encourage others to listen to Jimin and BTS and they just might become ARMY!

In the beginning, Big Hit, Hybe, and BTS were poor little nobodies going up against the Big 3 K-pop industry juggernauts. Going viral by putting their dance practices on YouTube and having ARMY stream their ignored songs like crazy is how BTS became the global phenomenon they are today.
Now, I’m not out to tell you how you should live your life or be a fan. But I will say that (in my opinion) helping BTS (and all their solo works) chart via streams is pretty much the minimum standard that separates being a casual fan and calling yourself ARMY. It's free and relatively easy.
“We have only each other.” That’s always been our unofficial motto. Yes, Jimin and BTS are becoming popular all over the world and going mainstream. Yes, they are multimillionaires. Yes, there are millions of ARMYS. But you have no excuses to slack, unless you're in a legit crisis of course. We are not charting BTS to put won in their pockets. We are doing this to show love and pride for their art.
We cannot expect locals, antis, multis, or cultists to roll up their sleeves and get to work. They won't. In fact, you can pretty much count on some of them actively working against Jimin, trying to chart milestones or pull focus during his charting period by stirring up drama. SO HELP ME IF ANYONE GETS DISTRACTED FROM OUR GOALS TO ENGAGE IN THEIR NONSENSE...
So if you do nothing else at all—no voting, no promo, no purchasing—PLEASE stream like your life depends on it the first week and even the first month that FACE drops. Get into this habit for all our members. It’s our legacy and our best, most accessible way to get behind our boys.

Self Promo Sunday: “Got My Angel Now”
This week’s re-run is another that I’ve always been pretty fond of (What can I say? I’m a sucker for the hurt/comfort and emotional angst and healing that could easily have fit into canon, but which the show didn’t always take time for) I initially wrote it after 5x03 “Siege Perilous”, and though some of the events were quickly made canon divergent as the Camelot arc went on, I don’t think it’s so far off as to be ruined for enjoyment’s sake. The title comes from a line in “Halo” by Beyonce, and the lyrics included in the scene breaks are from Christina Perri. (Neither of them, nor our lovely Pirate and Princess duo are mine. I just like to give them quiet moments ;p )
Summary: A post-5x03 one shot where the Storybrooke gang learn of Arthur's treachery much sooner, and in much more painful fashion. (Some whump aftermath and definite CS hurt/comfort involved)

They should never have trusted Arthur so blindly. Have they learned nothing yet after meeting so many heroes and monsters of myth and legend and finding them the opposite of how they are painted in the tales of old? Oh, aye, the royal had been stealthy – welcoming them to Camelot, throwing a grand ball in their honor, knighting David as a brother-in-arms and seating him in the very Siege Perilous once held by Lancelot himself – but it had made them let down their guard…and now Emma was paying the price.
Standing surrounded in the tower room Regina and Belle use as they research and experiment trying to find a way to communicate with and free Merlin, Arthur’s treachery suddenly comes into sharp focus for all of them. An entire phalanx of Camelot knights – Dave’s supposed comrades – surround Killian, Henry, David, Robin, and Belle (unfortunately Regina is not present to wipe them all out with a wrathful fireball) with swords at their chests or throats, circled closely enough that breaking free or moving to help the last member of their party is impossible.
Arthur himself stands facing Emma, his blade drawn and pointed just above her heart, poised to pierce her chest and make that precious, priceless organ spill its lifeblood and go still. Killian feels himself practically vibrating both with rage at the betrayal and his fear for her; not to mention the bitter anger he can feel radiating off of the prince beside him. He reaches out a hand to clutch Henry’s forearm, feeling the boy nearly jerk forward to his mother’s aid. He doesn’t think these men would hurt one so young, but he is no longer certain.
“Now Dark One,” Arthur spits, his voice harsh with controlled venom, “you and I are going to the tree. Your magic and the mushroom your noble father so kindly procured for me,” here he slants a gaze at Charming, “will show me what to do to free Merlin and to trap you instead, where you rightly belong.”
Killian knows Emma now possesses enough magic in her little finger alone to blow all these men away, but she holds back, as afraid as any of them that magic use will only continue to give the darkness more footholds in her psyche. She slants her eyes from boldly staring Arthur down to seek his. He wants to tell her to fight, to disappear - escape - and he wishes to know what he can do to comfort her, but the words and the knowledge elude him. Instead, his only ease is found in knowing that Emma’s dagger is nowhere near here – not where Arthur can lay hands on it and control his love. Though he does not know where Snow and Lancelot have taken it for safekeeping, it is at least beyond this broken monarch’s reach.
There is nothing to do but watch as Arthur has two more knights bind Emma’s hands and force her none-too-gently from the room behind him, the rest of the guard linger menacingly, to be sure none of them can follow or try to help her until they are well away.
It matters not; he will catch up, no matter where they take her. Emma must only hold on, keep her faith…
I believe in the lost possibilities you can’t see
and I believe that the darkness reminds us where light can be;
I know that your heart is still beating, beating, Darling,
I believe that you fell just so you could land next to me.
So hold on, hold on…
Though naught but a quarter of an hour passes before the rest of Arthur’s men withdraw from them, it is well into the evening before Killian finds Emma in a moonlit clearing of the dense forest which encircles the kingdom. Their group had split up in the hopes of someone reaching Swan that much faster, once word spread of Arthur’s failing to trap the Dark One and how she had used her powers to vanish from his grasp in the courtyard. Killian still does not know what had been done to her before that, but he can only be glad she has outsmarted their treacherous adversary and saved herself. He practically deflates with relief at the sight of her before him, appearing hale and in one piece. He cannot be anything but glad that it is he who will have a moment alone with his love. It does not matter that it has not even been a whole day, his relief upon seeing Emma again is almost too great to bear. The vision of her before him across the clearing is like the first breath of fresh spring air to his weary soul after too long locked away in suffocating winter. The last few hours he has been struggling for breath, consciously forcing his heart not to skip beats in agony and worry for her and what she might be suffering. His joy is great enough to override caution, and he doesn’t take in the raw, unhinged look in her wild eyes, nor the way she fairly vibrates with some unknown strain or injury.
The air around Emma pulses with electricity, and she throws out a hand to ward him off – pulling Killian up short when he feels the force pressing him back. Drawing in a steadying breath and hesitating to truly study her expression of confusion and anxiety, he realizes with a sharp pang in his chest that he is not sure whether she is merely trying to protect him while out of control, or if she truly doesn’t know him in this moment.
Those mesmerizing green eyes which never fail to capture him in their depths, flit nervously from his face, to his hand and hook, to her own trembling fingers outstretched between them, to the trees that surround them, and back again nervously – clearly unsettled and pained. Their emerald depths have never appeared so dark before, as if the forces fighting within to color her very mind and spirit are attempting to spread into even the smallest details of her being. His Swan literally shakes, even as she attempts to hold herself steady, staring at him across the open space. “What are you doing here?!?” she demands, looking shaken and angry, but at the same time as if she wants nothing more than to close the gap, fall into his supporting arms, and hold on for dear life. “I brought myself here for a reason, Killian! I barely got away from them, and I had to use my powers to do it. I can’t risk something like that happening again. I’m too dangerous to be near anyone until I find Merlin – and not when Arthur is waiting. Not until I get rid of this, this…thing inside me. I feel it swirling and clawing… even when it isn’t speaking to me in Rumplestiltskin’s voice, it’s trying to break free. So…y-you can’t be here! I w-won’t hurt you…” Her lower lip trembles, but she looks so firm in her decision and determined to suffer alone in her misery that his heart constricts, breaking a bit more at the sight of her anguish.
He cannot bear to see her hurting this way, to hear the agony in her voice; the yearning loneliness made plain beneath her warning to him makes him continue to inch closer, regardless of the threat Emma thinks she poses. He had known the wretched feeling of hopeless despair she is feeling all too well himself – for years – until she came along and brought more to his life than revenge, brought back the man of honor he once was. He takes another hesitant step forward, cautiously reaching out for her with a gentle hand and equally coaxing voice. “Easy now, Love,” he practically croons. “We can be careful…but you should not – and will not – have to do this alone.”
“Please stop!” she cries out, shooting another regretful look of longing at him.
Killian shakes his head, unwilling to let her go on like this, sure that he can help her, soothe her, and ease her pain if he can only reach her. He watches as Emma continues to tremble, but she remains still, allowing him to approach, even if she does so fearfully. Finally, the very tips of his fingers graze her cloak, then his whole hand rests on her upper arm, gripping gently as if unsure that she won’t still flee.
Just as she did in that circle of stones when their whole party first arrived in Camelot, Emma expels a terribly ragged breath and deflates, falling into him and clutching his shoulders as desperately as he clings to her. Killian breathes again, having barely realized he was holding it, and smooths a hand through her hair. He is not at all deterred by Emma’s moment of weakness, her nearly unhinged power, nor her fear. He is only glad she has finally reached for him in time of need. He will not give her up; he will find a way to help her, show her he will never fear her – whatever betide – and he will not fail to fight for her against any threat or foe. Watching her battle the Darkness within allows him to see, not her faltering, but even more of her strength. His admiration for her has only grown. No one else could understand the allure of the dark and the valor needed to claw away from it as he can.
‘Cause I have been where you are before
and I have felt the pain of losing who you are,
I have died so many times, but I am still alive
So hold on, hold on….
Tenderly, reverently, Killian’s hand travels on – down from the silken waves of her golden hair to trace Emma’s shoulders, then her back, pressing just enough to draw her closer, only to release her quickly when she cries out in pain at even the slight weight of his hands on her back. She tries to swallow her reaction in the next instant – hide it away – but she cannot conceal the wince that escapes as she curls in on herself protectively, nor can he fail to see the stiff way she holds her shoulders now that he is looking for it.
His calloused fingers come to cup her strong chin, tilting Emma’s face to meet his gaze, so she cannot avoid his eyes. “Where are you hurt, Swan?” he murmurs lowly, voice rough with concern. His words might be soft, but they are taut with worry and anger that these brigands would dare to lay a rough hand on his princess. “What did they do to you?”
Emma shakes her head, pulling away from his cautious grip and biting down on her lower lip in that way she has when trying to avoid baring herself to him, especially if the knowledge he seeks might be painful. “It’s nothing, Killian. Don’t worry over it. I…I could have healed it already…if I weren’t worried about using my magic.”
Impatiently, he shakes his own head once, frustrated at her stubbornness and unconcern for her own well-being. “It is not nothing, Emma. Of that I am quite sure.” His words are clipped with the force of his emotion, accent more pronounced, and Emma feels a shiver skitter down her spine that is as much from attraction as foreboding over what he will do when he sees her injuries. Carefully, but firmly, Killian places both hand and hook on her shoulders and turns her around to face away from him.
For a moment, Emma clutches her cloak about her, trying to keep this revelation from his eyes in one last desperate effort, but when pain lances through her shoulders and she cannot bite back the whimper that escapes her, she knows it is a losing battle. Slumping forward, she releases a sigh and ceases to fight against his gentle determination.
“There now, Lass,” her pirate coaxes in that warm burr of his. His hand and hook barely skim over her form as he unclasps and pulls the cloak away. “Let us see, hmm? Everything will be…” However, his voice chokes and trails off before he can finish his gentle reassurance. A strangled noise in his throat and the sudden heavy tension in the air around them tells her without doubt that once the cloak was off her shoulders, the wide neckline and low back of her dress leave the stinging marks on her flesh exposed plainly to his eyes.
Neither of them move for several long, silent moments, and Emma presses her trembling lips together tightly, trying desperately not to let the tears that are welling in her eyes fall. She hisses when the cool metal of his hook gingerly traces the brand burned into her right shoulder, serving to mark her as a witch, and the scattered whip weals she bore rather than admit anything about where her dagger was hidden, further endangering Merlin and the rest of them. The lash marks pulse hotly along with the beat of her heart and the blood rushing through her veins. Somehow, though, the tender care in his touch soothes her a bit, and she relaxes, almost sinking to her knees in relief and exhaustion as he continues. Her eyes slip closed, and she nearly feels safe again until he whispers in a broken voice. “Oh, Love, how could they do this to you? …I am so very sorry, Emma.”
Her tears do fall silently then, and she turns back to him, wordlessly trailing her fingers across his face, up over his cheekbones, wiping his matching tears away. Shushing Killian even as his shoulders shake with silent emotion, Emma leans against his chest and tries for the first time in what feels like ages to let down her guard and catch her breath at the safety she finds in his arms.
Eventually, Killian pulls back slightly, brushing a loose tendril of her mussed hair off her forehead and resting his hand along the side of her face softly. He shifts to take her hand in his and then leads her to the banks of the small river running placidly behind them. Urging Emma wordlessly to sit on a large rock at the water’s edge, he pulls a clean black scarf from inside his long coat, bends to wet it in the cool water, then comes back to crouch behind her. Clearing his throat in a nervous way that warms her heart, Killian asks gently. “Not to be indelicate, Swan, but can you shrug out of your frock for a moment? Hold it up in the front if you wish, but I need to see your whole back if I am to clean your wounds properly.”
Emma dips her head, blushing fiercely, and does as he asks, sucking in a sharp, pained breath once more as she eases the material from her shoulders and the movement stretches the torn skin of her back. Finally, she wraps her arms tightly around her torso, holding the front of the dress up and bracing herself. Hissing as the damp cloth first makes contact with the bloody stripes sliced into her pale hide, she tries not to flinch or wince and make Killian’s task more difficult; however, she can feel Killian’s hesitance and guilt at hurting her more, even in order to help, regardless of how she tries to hold her reactions in.
Slowly, the water begins to cool the enflamed agony, and she eases a fraction, feeling a bit like his ministrations are healing her as well as any magic could. The feel of his fingers ghosting over her back and down her arm as he finishes and tells her she can pull her gown back into place remind her vividly of another time so long ago, when he used another of his scarves to bind a wound to her hand, seemingly reading her mind as he did so and seeing the attraction she had felt for him even then simmering under her skin. His care that day atop the beanstalk had made her ache to trust him, and looking back now, it nearly floors her to realize just how completely she does trust him – so much so that she would place her very life in his hands without question.
Emma feels the warm exhalation of her pirate’s breath on her neck mere seconds before he lightly rests his forehead there, seemingly needing to hold her as he draws in a shaky breath. They are silent for some time; the running water, bird calls, and scuffling of wild creatures in the brush are the only sounds around them. Finally, he eases away and speaks once more, circling to face her as he does so. “Emma, I know you do not want to put yourself at more risk – nor do you want to be forced to use your magic again to defend yourself, or any of us – but you must return with me. We can find some place for you to stay where Arthur and his sorry excuses for ‘gallant’ knights will never know of your return. You must have some salve or medicine and better treatment than I can offer for those cuts, and especially the burn. I fear it could become infected. Regina will be near enough to guard you with her magic this time, and we will not be taken unawares again. I certainly will not be making the mistake of trusting anyone else in Camelot.”
She wants to argue with him, to be strong enough to stay out here alone and in hiding, but she cannot make herself form the words. In fact, she knows with painful certainty that she cannot bear to have Killian out of her sight right now. Weakened and vulnerable, she needs his comfort and his strength, needs someone with some faith and hope that all which has gone wrong can still work out right. Not only will she worry for his safety and the rash action he might take to right the vicious wrongs done to her, but she yearns for his care just now; his steadfast love the strongest thing keeping the darkness at bay, even as her situation grows more dire.
I believe that tomorrow is stronger than yesterday,
and I believe that your head is the only thing in your way.
I wish that you could see your scars turn into beauty.
I believe that today it’s okay to be not okay…
Hold on, hold on…
This is not the end of me, this is the beginning
Hold on…
Later that night, as moonlight filters into the isolated old hunting lodge that Killian and Henry have somehow located in a far-flung corner of the castle grounds, deserted and dusty from long disuse, Emma wakes from a light doze, still uneasy enough not to sleep deeply, despite her wear and strain. Sitting up stiffly, her eyes search the room, seeking her guardian knight, even as his name escapes her lips worriedly. “Killian?” she asks, a soft, plaintive note in the single whispered word.
He stands quickly from where his lithe form had been curled up on a settee near the window keeping watch, himself bathed in dark shadows and moon glow as he steals across the room to sit on the edge of the bed at her side. “I’m here, Love. Are you in pain? Regina is just outside, I can summon her…”
Emma merely shakes her head, reaching her hand out from under the layers of warm blankets she remembers him tucking around her a couple hours before. Looking up into his fathomless blue, blue eyes, she closes her fingers around his hook, hanging on for dear life. “No, it’s not that,” she assures him, gazing up into his face, drinking in every perfect, adoring feature as he stares back at her. “I just wanted to make sure that you didn’t disappear, that you were still with me…” She trails off, looking sheepish but also honest. They might be more than she would usually say, but she cannot make herself take the words back.
He traces his hand across her forehead soothingly, then lets his fingers tangle gently in her hair, pulling her up to press the softest of kisses to her lips. “Don’t worry, Darling,” he murmurs, his caress easing her pounding heart. “It took me centuries to find you. I won’t be letting go of my saving grace now. We will put an end to this darkness and treachery. Our love story is only beginning.”
And with those words Emma is able to fall back into a healing, dreamless sleep.

It is genuinely amazing. Oikawa is a single parent in this and Iwa is some random alpha dude that wants to be a part of their lives. Seriously just so fucking good I cannot stress that enough. Plus, as a bonus, the author wrote Oikawa’s son aged up with his own love interest in a fic as part of the series. Something to Call our Own is such a good companion piece and I just love it so much. It’s 11/11 chapters of pure tooth rotting fluff. I have never seen this fic recommended before but it seriously needs the recognition. Please please please read this!

The Rook 5x12 Chenford Thoughts/Predictions
- Tonight ISN’T the night
There has been way too much build up and call me a pessimist, but I don’t trust it. How many times have the writers given us promos or sneak peaks which actually show what’s really going to happen. I don’t think a breakup will happen but I don’t trust this build up.
- Sneak Peak is the beginning
I think we see Lucy and Tamara have a convo in T’s room then the sneak peak parking lot chenford convo. The rest of the episode is them being assigned to ride together and realizing that cannot happen again. Cue episode action climax (bomb at hospital?) then realizing it’s not going to happen tonight.
- Someone finds out
I think this is the episode we get a coworker finding confronting them about it. I firmly believe Aaron knows how they feel about each other, but doesn’t realize they are actually dating. Based on the episode description for 5x13, I think it’s going to be Lyla who finds out first. I see it happening similar to a friends Chandler/Monica situation. One person knows then next episode another knows then next episode something happens and they all know.
- The Chenford promo almost kiss is 5x14
I have no real reason for thinking this other than getting some serious Valentine’s Day vibes. I think we will see this scene in the episode that follows Daddy Cop.
- Shameless plot request
Lastly I really want to see this happen either in a fanfic or cannon. Lucy has to go back undercover as a couple but not with Tim. I think he has come to begrudgingly accept her ability’s as a UC, but given their history her going in with someone else will be really hard for him. I’m a sucker for a jealousy trope. I may just have to write my first ever fanfic based on this…. We will see.

So many bands I listen to are switching to AI images for their promo material and it's obviously heartbreaking for me, but I've been trying to see it from their perspective. At least when it's small bands. I'm not making any excuses for Napalm's or Within Temptation's AI videos. They have the money and are screwing visual artists over out of greed or ignorance. But when it's a small independent band with a couple hundred followers?
"My band doesn't have enough money to hire a human artist for promo materials, so we use AI" is like the band version of "I don't have enough money to buy CDs, so I torrent music". Both are driven by capitalism-induced scarcity. Both are ethically questionable (*insert more nuanced take here*) ways to get something you don't really need, but want for yourself. But one is legal (hint: it's the one that makes giant (tech) corporations money) and one can get you a fine, even jail time in some countries (hint: it's the one that giant (entertainment) corporations think keeps them from getting money they would have liked to receive).
For a small band, the alternative to AI usually isn't "hiring a real artist", it's either "using a public domain picture" (better for me, not always fitting for them) or "not having visual promo materials except maybe an album cover and one video per album" (better for me, worse for them). Unless they have a friend who does it for free. Another parallel to torrenting. Usually when someone torrents, the alternative wouldn't have been buying the media, it would have been not consuming it. Because if it's not in your budget, it's not in your budget.
This isn't really a happy thought or an excuse... the conclusion is more or less that if you don't torrent then you're a sucker, because the artists you're trying to be honourable towards will screw others over for their benefit as soon as they have the chance too, so really what's the point in being the only one who plays by the rules?
I thought about this and remembered how this one musician I follow once said that especially in Latin America fans often bring burned CDs of his albums to meet-and-greets and he signs those too because he knows the legal CDs are much more expensive for a fan there than in Europe. I found it astounding that someone would have the cheek to show a band their own album as an illegal burned CD (I wouldn't even have done that in 2004), and kinda admired how understanding he was about the matter. Meet-and-greets are also not always at the concert venue, so you could get a judgement-free signature on a burned CD without buying a ticket.
...of course they're still his fans and the CD still has the band name on it, so the analogy is far from perfect. Image generation AI in its currently dominant form screws artists over worse than torrenting, I'm not arguing against that. The point is that I judge big bands and labels more for using AI than small bands.
"But they should just hire a cheaper artist or buy a stock photo!" Yes! They should! They absolutely should! Especially since artists, just like all creative freelancers, usually get their first jobs by doing cheap work for people with a limited budget. But can I demand it..? Is it the standard I hold other people to - or myself?
It just always comes back to the systemic issue - how almost no one doing creative work has a big enough budget and the artificial scarcity imposed by capitalism is pitting us against each other.

oh yes. so i have been into dr since it was still on the SA forums i think it had to be like 2012, 2013 since i was just getting into college and i kept a pic of ishi in a frame to motivate me to study LOL. i went in with the intention of hatereading it since 1. i got into it when EVERYONE on tumblr was into it and i was like "you are all so fucking annoying" and i think this was pre-tumblr savior so it was unavoidable and drama was everywhere i was just like oh my god why are you people nuts over this shit and 2. the art sucks pretty hard (i still think this... sorry... the concept and splash art is a delight as well as the posters/promos but i don't like the in-game art at all...) but i wound up mowing through the forum thread in like a week i think and i loved it, i loved the diversity in backstories and personalities and even more i loved every single chara's chemistry with one another especially as the endgame approached. it's a wonderful story it really is even if it reads like a battle royale rip. it really stirred something within me as a constant new kid and reject in high school. so imagine my disappointment when i started sdr2 and it sucked ass the entire way. dr1 spoiled me it was just so good!
ishi was my favorite IMMEDIATELY. i love a strong and intelligent and loud character who is also a bit pathetic and has huge eyebrows. i was really lonely at this point in life and super emotionally stunted so he was my friend immediately and i loved him from first sight. now he is my son. mondo took a bit to grow on me and by that i mean "oh he is soooo funny looking ahaha" -> "oh no he's my other son now" i am also really into bosozoku culture since i grew up watching "vintage" (80s/90s) anime with a lot of mech so you could say i latched onto them immediately. and when i saw all those promo arts where they are fawning over each other and every other chara is third or fourth wheeling? sauna scene? voting out scene? man. gay people. i'm no sweetie but i've been a sucker ever since....

i was kind of hesitant about starting lovely runner because based solely on the promos, it seemed like im sol's love for sunjae was purely one-sided affection/adoration and that sunjae would eventually fall in love with the version of sol that time travelled back, but he wouldn't know who she was prior to their first meeting in the past timeline. which was why the ending of episode 2 had such an emotional impact and gave the story so much more depth (both in its tragedy and its romance). this went from a sort of cringy premise of a preposterous idol/fan romance trope to something deeper, more tragic, and more romantic, while not sacrificing genuinely hilarious comedic moments sprinkled throughout. i'm personally a sucker for when the male lead is just pining over the girl, and this is very much exemplary of that. it's not like the "he actually loved her all along" is a new thing in romance, but the way the reveal was done was soooo well-executed and added so much more nuance to the show. in fact, the rest of the show is playing into a lot of tropes, but tropes can be utilized effectively if the execution is done well, which I think episodes 1-4 have nailed thus far.
another thing that i love is that these misunderstandings aren't dragged out. usually the reveal of sunjae saving sol during her accident would've been some big episode 8 revelation (that everyone had long ago predicted lmao) but nope! you're getting that confirmation in episode FOUR and the emotional gut punch is gonna fucking hurt! (because my sister hyeyoon can ACT) or, when the two kiss while she's drunk and he finds out she doesn't remember within the span of one episode. i'm used to this misunderstanding to stew for at least a couple of episodes. i've voiced my concerns about the pacing being "too fast", because in fact, this show is actually paced really well, but is far faster than kdrama standards (which is scaring me a little, in a way that i'm really hoping the plot continues to be this engaging and interesting going forward). based on some minor spoilers from the promos and what fans have noticed from filming, i think we have quite a bit of timeline to get through, so i'll be enjoying every monday/tuesday drop if it continues to keep me engaged in a way no kdrama has in a very long time.

ARC Review of The Home Wrecker by Sara Cate

Premise:
A poly romance with a married couple; Caleb and Briar Goode agree to let Dean live in their guest house after his house burns down. Both of them grapple with their attraction to Dean even as their own marriage is falling apart.
My review:
I'm a huge sucker for marriages in trouble in romance novels, and Sara Cate delivered! There's angst and there's drama, and there's also this surprisingly tender love story between three people who all feel like outsiders in one way or another.
Caleb and Briar's marriage is falling apart; they're struggling to conceive a second child and sex is more of a chore than for pleasure. Enter Dean, who is a sex worker at the local kink club, and was also Caleb's younger brother Isaac's first boyfriend when they were teenagers. He also believes Caleb broke them up all those years ago, which is why he decides he's going to seduce Briar. Writing it here sounds a bit campy/soap opera villain-y, but the hurt surrounding Isaac being kicked out after coming out runs deep in both Dean and Caleb, and it's a recurring theme in this book.
I saw a lot of promo about there being cheating in this book— I imagine it did its job in warning some people and making others curious, like me. So yes, there's cheating; Briar and Caleb individually cheat with Dean without telling one another beforehand. It's... unethical nonmonogamy, if you will. What's also interesting is there are flashbacks of how Briar and Caleb got together that parallel the main story, and their relationship also began with, you guessed it, cheating.
So what we get is this slow seduction of a lonely, attention-starved wife via wine nights and long conversations, all while the husband is getting increasingly suspicious— it's a classic, and it works. The not-so-classic part is that Caleb confronts Dean on multiple occasions, and these confrontations are riddled with sexual tension underneath all the male posturing. I like how Sara Cate wrote Caleb's bi awakening— it's these little things adding up like when he realizes he's checking out Dean, but you do get the sense he came to terms with it (to a degree) some years ago even if he never thought he'd act on his attraction to a man after marrying Briar. But when he does, it's actually kind of great. I also liked how Sara handled their transition from cheating to polyamory with a lot of deftness and care (Dean being a sex worker, Briar and Caleb's inability to conceive and their next steps, Caleb coming out as bi); their conflicting back-and-forth regarding what others will think is just the right amount so the reader never loses sight of that inevitable HEA.
I do have a couple notes— I don't think it was necessary to have a verbalized "bet" between Caleb and Dean about whether Briar would cheat on Caleb with Dean— regardless of Dean's intent to seduce her, the bet itself came across as immature (especially for Caleb, a man in his thirties) and icky. There's also the matter of Caleb's father's impending trial for assaulting a woman; I'm not sure exactly how valid it is for the book's hero to consider helping his father to the extent he did, especially considering the victim is his brother's girlfriend. I understand Caleb is an attorney, and a lesser charge could increase the likelihood of the defendant being put away, but I was surprised Caleb was conflicted for as long as he was.
The sex:
Solid, as per Sara Cate's usual, and lightly kinky. Dean first functions as a sex coach to Caleb and Briar, but the lines become blurred very quickly and his approach becomes more, ah, hands-on. It's also funny when both Caleb and Briar keep getting jealous of each other for the time they spend with Dean, but that jealousy has them constantly jumping the other two and they can't even call it retaliation because they're like, genuinely getting off on it.
Standout moment sex-wise was probably some very interesting things done with foreskin while Dean is jacking himself and Caleb off. I had to reread that one a couple times to get it.
I will also say this for the Goode brothers: they really have no qualms about defiling daddy's office(s).
Overall:
I'd recommend this book to any romance reader; The romance between Briar, Caleb, and Dean was tension-filled and brought the heat, and it also packed an unexpectedly emotional punch by the end.
