Commissions for Palestine!

If you send me proof of a donation of any amount, I'll draw you something!

For donations below 3 USD, It'll be a pencil sketch. For donations between 3 and 5 USD, it'll be a pencil sketch with pen lineart. From 5 to 7 USD, I'll draw a highlighter drawing with pen lineart. Anything above 7 USD will be a fully colored alcohol marker drawing.

I will also be including an image description with your drawing.

I'll accept donations to anything as long as it goes to Palestinian aid and you show me proof. I'll even accept donations to Sudan or Congo, but this is mostly focused on Palestine.

I suggest this fundraiser if you don't know where to donate, it goes to a mutual's family.

I'm not comfortable drawing NSFW or gore. If I feel like I can't draw your request in a satisfactory way, I might ask you to make another request.

You can make requests in my inbox or by DMing me. Please send proof of your donation along with your request.

Requests through my inbox will be posted on my blog, while requests through DMs will go either in your inbox, or simply through DMs. Please notify me if you want them delivered some other way.

i tend to roll my eyes at sexuality microlabels that mention feeling a less-than-normal/average amount of attraction bc what, exactly, is a normal/average amount of attraction? how is it quantified? what data are being used? is it applicable to every single person on the planet, or just in certain cultures? are different stages of life considered?

as a hormonal teenager i could develop a crush on someone i saw once and most of my daydreams and fantasies were about romance or sex. but now that i'm an adult no longer going through puberty, it takes a lot more for me to develop a crush on someone, and a lot of my celebrity or fictional character crushes are more or less acknowledgement that i find them physically attractive than fantasies. my daydreams are primarily about shit like owning a house and being financially stable.

am i demisexual compared to my teenage self, or is my teenage self hyper-allosexual compared to me now, or has my attraction always been a normal/average amount depending on my age? does it even fucking matter? how should i know (and WHY would i need to know) the amount of attraction my peers experience, or how well they need to know someone before developing feelings for them, or if they fantasize about fucking celebrities? what PURPOSE do microlabels serve other than creating a bunch of pride flags to make money off of?

but you know what HASN'T changed over all this time? my bisexuality. WHO i'm attracted to.

I don't think I'll ever be over the way that the thesis statement of OWK is represented, more than anything else, even more than Reva's plotline honestly, in Haja.

Like.

Genuinely? The one "twist" I wasn't emotionally prepared for was that Haja was legit, and he really was trying to help, and there really was a massive grassroots shadow-network underground railroad evacuating Jedi survivors and Force-sensitive kids across the galaxy, and he really was part of it.

Because the thing with his whole setup--the magnet tricks, the motion-controlled windows, the cold-reading, the crowd-working kid identifying obvious offworld marks, the "audience plant" stormtrooper playing along over the comm? Yeah, they're cheap tricks, but it's a SOPHISTICATED setup.

This guy is a straight-up conman. He really is every bit the sleazy grifter he appears to be.

That matters. That's important. Haja is not an angel. He's a mid-level fake psychic, callously cashing in on the Jedi's legacy to do, like, bullshit fortune-telling. It's--it's the way you can see this guy's whole backstory in a few minutes of screentime. Because we DO see him identify a Force-sensitive kid....and the escape he offers them is genuine.

So: Haja. And the story we can see in him at a glance.

He's a scam artist! He's dressing in knockoff porn-vid robes, waving his hands, and babbling half-remembered vague tropes before murmuring generic platitudes and sending rubes on their way. The Jedi are dead, right? It's not like they're around to be offended. He's not even really lying, right? He gets people what they want! The Jedi stuff just lets him upcharge! He's just skimming a little, a man's gotta make a living.

And then, one day, someone came to him who'd used all their hope just getting there. Someone with a Force-sensitive child, and the Empire on their heels, stumbled terrified into his little den of cheap tricks, because they'd heard a whisper of a rumor that there was still a Jedi alive on Daiyu.

And in that moment, Haja learned that he was a better person than he'd ever realized.

They must have staked everything on reaching him, and then they found him, and what they found was...Haja. Just some guy in a cheap costume. Just some guy, and not a particularly great one. How much is the bounty on a Force-sensitive youngling? Enough to retire on. Enough to set you up for life. And Haja is just some guy, who had just been slapped in the face with the reality of what he was capable of doing in the next five minutes.

There are moments when you learn who you really are, and sometimes you surprise yourself.

After all that time "acting like a Jedi," when given the opportunity--he chose to act like a Jedi.

Ultimately, the thesis statement of OWK is: There is a galaxy full of Hajas. And that's hope enough to keep going for.

revisiting crassus, clodius, and the bona dea scandal! but this time with a new composition and a limited color palette

originally when I drew the first version of this idea, it was back when I thought that crassus would be a week long fixation at most (lmao), and instead he just. took up permanent residence in my mind. it seemed like a fun thing to go back to an earlier idea and see what changed now that I've spent a lot more time with everyone involved in this era!

The Dedue scarf (or more of a wrap really) I've been screaming all the way through knitting is done!!!

Final dimensions are about 8 ft long by 22 inches wide, and about 14.6 oz dry. I used 7.25 balls of Knit Picks Palette fingering yarn (50g, 100% Peruvian highland wool) in Marine Heather, one ball in Almond, and about half a ball of the same yarn in Garnet Heather. The smaller motifs are your standard 3 yarn Fair Isle knitting and the larger is 3 color ladderback jacquard at the suggestion of @themikecollective .

(Credits: shout-out to @eaglehorn for floating me their chart for the pattern as a starting point (I did my own chart for the smaller scale motifs but used their chart as the starting point and for the larger scale motif) and also shout-out to @themikecollective and @ehyde for suggestions on how to manage the floats on the larger motif. The medal (for display purposes) was purchased from @gizmoforge .)

I'm now going to snuggle in and be toasty warm for the rest of the winter.
