I'm turning 22 soon. How do I go back in time and tell my 16 year old self that things actually did work out for us. That the world didn't collapse every time she experienced heartbreak. As a queer person, admiring the outward beauty of the church and appreciating religious symbolism in films, music, or literature seems like such an act of self betrayal at times.

Knowing that I'll never be fully accepted, knowing all the trauma my past faith caused me and still being able to look at it with kind eyes.
