Ahhh, Happy 17th Birthday 🥳 to my wonderful 2nd born, 2nd son, middle child, Dylan, who was born on a Thursday just like today! ✨ 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 2 REAL pushes after the first tentative 5 is all it took and there was my baby - another boy! 😌 What a blessing beyond measure! 🙂❤️🙏🏻 I remember being so excited Ian would now have not just a sibling but a little brother! 😃 For a long while, it was just the two of them, pals forever and now they have Faithy who is only 8 that they both look after. So SO fab! 😍💖😍 My sweet son, I’m blessed by our deep connection and conversations, the constant ease of chatting about everything, whether good or bad, with equal candor. These are the best days of my life. 🥹❤️😍🙏🏻✨ As I said to my fabulous friend @carltonwilbornrising this morning when he said “Your man’s smile says sooo much!” “We were so happy driving home. We really have the family we both wanted so much. For all of us, yesterday was the best day yet! When your grown kids ask you for the pic you took at the end of the day while they're driving home, you know you're doing something right. My heart is so full! 🥹” My direct family is EVERYTHING! The deep, real, open conversations we get to have… the laughter… my goodness… such a blessing! The best part? Even though my HubbyLove’s eldest is not in this picture, when we all gather, it’s the same vibe. 😍 LOVE, COURAGE, FAITH, TRUTH, CARE, deep friendship, open, honest conversations, crazy laughter 🤭 - REAL is the foundation here. Once upon a time (13 years ago now - 2009), I took a chance on myself. I wanted a healthy, loving, fulfilling TWO-SIDED relationship and DECIDED to BELIEVE one day I would have it. EVERY OUNCE OF MY SOUL KNEW my dream *was* possible so I chose to not only believe in it but to BREATHE LIFE INTO IT. This is exactly what I did step-by-step... ✨ I believed I was worthy and deserving of a relationship that nourished my soul. ✨ I let go of those in my life who were not in alignment. ✨ I did not allow the opinions of others to sway me from my crystal clear inner voice. ✨ I stepped up and into a new path and direction with courage, conviction, and faith. ✨ I didn't give up when the going got tough and stood time and again for what I was committed to with those who wanted the same. 😌 Through good and bad, hell and high water, I trusted in God, my Soul, and the process and today, the love and honesty I get to share with my HubbyLove of 10 1/2 years (together 12 in March) allows us to TOGETHER overcome all toxicity that shows up bringing us both more healing, love, and joy each and every passing day. 🙌🏻 I am a better person thanks to this complete relationship with this open and genuine man. One can be in utter denial all day, every day but the soul will pop right up & put you right in your place in a split second. . “Stop playing silly games!” it tells you. “What do you take me for? I see RIGHT through yoU & you know it too! How many times must we go through this? Sheesh!” 😆 . The soul is SO kind, thank God! . The ego, on the other hand, thinks it’s SO slick. 😂 Full of trickery, so cunning, it knows no boundaries. It tries SO hard to flatter you into agreement with it because it KNOWS the soul has its number & no amount of praise will ever get you to bow down to it. 🙅🏼‍♀️ . These are SOUL LEVEL GAMES, if you will. And the soul don’t play small there, baby! I assure you. Not ever, no way. . The only thing that matters to it, to you being your potential… . & BECOMING YOUR TRUEST, HIGHEST SELF . is HONESTY. . It’s required, nonnegotiable! . And what does honesty require? DEEP LISTENING. . And, after that, DISCERNMENT. . This ain’t no mind-tripping. . SOULFUL LIVING is a HEART ENDEAVOR. . As the poet Rumi said, “The soul has been given its own ears to hear things that the mind does not understand.” . Just sayin’! . But, honestly… LET’S GET REAL!!! . Altering the states of your mind doesn’t touch what the SOUL FEELS. . THE SOUL IS ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. The mind cannot see (even when you control it by dulling its senses), much less explain. . Taming it because it’s overactive is not connecting & experiencing the beautiful wilderness of the heart & soul FREELY as you were created to. . That’s what’s up! The only thing that matters to it, to you being your potential… . and BECOMING YOUR TRUEST, HIGHEST SELF… . is HONESTY. . It is required, nonnegotiable! . And what does honesty require? DEEP LISTENING. . And, after that, DISCERNMENT. . This ain’t no mind-tripping. . SOULFUL LIVING is a HEART ENDEAVOR. . 🙌🏻 DON’T BE AFRAID OF CHANGING 🙌🏻 . Big changes in life are necessary & I couldn’t be happier to say that 2022 BROUGHT THE BIGGEST CHANGE FOR ME IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. . That’s saying A LOT given I remarried, had a baby girl, moved many times, began my life coaching biz online, started my podcast, & went from 40 to 50 years old during that time period. . Man, what a ride! 😃❤️‍🔥 . When my prior life ended with the father of my boys after 20 years in 2009 & then again when my late fiancé Steven passed in 2010 after his cancer battle for 18 months, it was death upon death. It was so, SO hard! . I then went through a million stages of trying to figure out all of me while contending with life, so-called family & friends, financial devastation, loss & grief of all kinds, healing ❤️‍🩹 trauma, you name it. . JESUS! 💔💔💔 . I don’t say His name in vain either. He‘s who I called out to & turned to & the reason I’m here. 🙏🏻 . MY SAVIOR. ✝️ . THE ONE WITH THE REAL HEART OF GOLD. 💛 . THE REAL G.O.A.T. 🐐 . No religious, institutional love either. . This? This is personal. . Last sunset 🌇 2022 . We have a daily tradition of watching the sun set. We stop whatever we’re doing and step outside and hang for 10-15 minutes - sometimes less, sometimes more - and just chat about the day, whatever is coming up, play with Faith, tend to the plants. Sometimes HubbyLove @scottsmithmusic sings to us and plays his guitar. . It isn't always all perfect and idyllic - we get cranky, fight, get on each other's nerves and all that good stuff.
