The first job of our brain is survival, and if you put too much challenge on yourself your brain will go into survival mode and fight you not to change because change will be perceived as a thread. 2. Assuming your plan will work. It might not. Ask yourself - is your plan going to work on your worst day or your worst week or you made your plan for ideal circumstances? 3. Waiting for the perfect moment to implement your ideal plan. Waiting for the next day, next week, next year to start. Waiting for the perfect hour. Let me tell you there’s no major difference between starting at 6am on the 1st of January and 6pm on the 2nd of January. ‘The reason for which I am sure this year will be a successful one is that I know my limits, or at least the borders. I have this strange feeling in my heart that all will be well this 2023. It is three years since the pandemic and one year from my initiation into the evil region of my brain, which at the time was unexplored. I am done trekking through that country. So done. This year will be better because I know that I will not push myself to skip meals and then exercise for an hour, always on the verge of fainting. I know not to put myself through six hours of schoolwork, then grow furious at myself for getting distracted. I know not to isolate myself from the people I love in the name of being ‘cool’. I know not to hate myself. Me, myself, the one I should love and worship… I have realized that I am a human, and before I meet my own reasonings and expectations I must meet those of God, which by now are very ancient and established, and will not be surpassed by my little ink-stained hands and my previous methods of self-hate and grueling contempt for all matter which does not listen to me. Anyway, a toast, to 2023.’

New year, New you
As we approach the new year, we are all thinking about what we should make our New Year's resolutions about. Personally, I don't think New Year's resolutions stick, especially when there is a list of 100 things you want to change about yourself and your lifestyle. How do you expect to change every little aspect of yourself and stick to it?
I believe in order to seriously change your life you must think of 5-10 things you want to improve and write a plan on how you can implement these things in your life. For example, most people want to take health and exercise seriously in the New Year but hardly stick to this goal. If this is one of your goals for the New Year, begin by creating a schedule for when you will exercise and meal planning to ensure healthy eating. It is all about taking these goals and breaking them down into steps so it doesn't seem as hard to do. In order to stay consistent with your goals, you must build habits. Staying with the exercise theme, say you want to start exercising every morning but it is hard for you because you are not a morning person. Create a habit of waking up early, not going on your phone for at least 30 minutes when you wake up, and making your bed every morning in order to create a good morning routine.
Here is the step-by-step guide to achieving your goals:
List 5-10 goals you want to achieve in the New Year
Break down your goals into steps
Build habits that will help you stay consistent with your goals
You are able to use this to help you achieve any of the goals you have. This guide will keep you motivated and make sure that all of your goals are completed.
Remember not to get discouraged when falling off from your routine, this is what causes people to not complete their goals. There will be days when you are not able to stay on track with your goals, however, never completely give up because then you will not continue your progress.
Being kind to yourself and believing in yourself is key to achieving all of your desires :)
