I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THESE TWO AND THEY NEED A MOVIE
They were FS the power couple in school!
I can imagine them getting a whole coach to themselves in the common room, sending sweets from Hogsmaede to each other’s rooms late at night… making the first years run errands for them… studying together etc
I can also kind of imagine their own version of Draco’s little circle of friends? No way they didn’t have their own gang to gossip and cause mischief with
I like to think that Lucius worshiped Narcissa? For sure when he fell in love with her later in life, as an adult, but ALSO in school… I think their story would be like- forced together from birth but they eventually learn to love each other
So when they’re in school, Narcissa would fs be the more mature one and play into the role of being Lucius’s girlfriend and all. And Lucius, well I think he’d be in denial at first, rejecting all of her advances and presents, hugs, etc. but then slowly she grows on him and he kind of lets her in (bad boy gone soft kinda deal).
I can imagine them in the common room with their lil circle of friends, just hanging out, Narcissa giggling with her girls (maybe Bella and Andremeda too) and Lucius is just quiet, arm around Narcissa, enjoying her presence while Severus and Antonio (Dolohov) (maybe Evan Rosier and Regulus) laugh at him.
Anyway, it’d be interesting also to see them try and conceive Draco, because apparently it was really hard to? But they got through it together?
Anyway, i just wanted to see more of them and witness that they actually loved each other fiercely even though it wasn’t really shown in the books… it would make more sense for the Harry Potter series because we need to see Lucius become a death eater to protect his family you know? I like to believe he just wanted the best for his family…
AHHH sorry that’s my long rant
god I just love the idea of power couple Lucius and Narcissa. Bc there’s no WAY they weren’t the it couple when they were in school. Give me House of Black and House Malfoy alliance and brilliant slytherin students just quietly being the example of traditional pureblood culture. No need to make it political yet, but just a historical couple with a different air about them.
I’m talking the clothes with hints to their ancestry, bobbins and trinkets centuries old, family jewelry, lavish courting gifts, the most intricate etiquette, loving looks across the hallways, whispered adorations, interlocked pinkies, love letters, imported snacks being slipped into book bags, pieces of commissioned music, bespoke clothes with no price tag bc if you need to ask, you can’t afford it.
Just let them be young and falling in love with a modest amount of distance and an overwhelming amount of vanity and money. They’re sneaky, with unmatched pedigrees, and they breathe traditions millennia old, their journey from being paired for marriage by their families to falling in love is FASCINATING.
I want to see what unspeakable wealth looks like when it marries other unspeakable wealth and then falls head over heels. Like. The possibilities for romantic gestures are literally endless. What is considered too much? They’re a wonderful way for my brain to explore pureblood high society and a quieter, more subtle sequence of romance.
just imagining their courting period and engagement let alone the event of the decade: that WEDDING. Lord.

Omg I LOVE your thoughts they’re so creative!
I can just imagine Severus having parent-teacher conferences with the muggle parents and being like- ok so children have been adopted into a better place… thankyew…
LMAO that’d be insane
I feel like it’d also be such an easy way to let your kids (as a pure blood parent) have more options? Idk I feel like the pure blood heirs are set up with another heir from birth by their parents and it’s just an unchangeable part of their future and it makes them kind of miserable yeah? That’s probably why all the slytherin kids are so grumpy
BUT with the muggleborn genius kids, they can explore their options, experience something new? Maybe actually like their future partners for a change? THAT’ll be the day
I’m fond of the idea that “there are no muggleborn wixen in slytherin” is a cover for them to smuggle new blood into nearly extinct lines and do last minute adoptions.
“Oh Monroe? Yes turns out she’s a descendant of the Gamp line, just had a squib ancestor. We reached out to her great grandmother and they’re willing to teach her the family magic and all, who knows, she might even inherit heirship 🤷”
“See I knew she couldn’t be muggleborn, she’s just got too much innate sense for magic, of course she’s from a pureblood line. Unfortunate she’s on a squib branch but hey, better a squib descendant than an extinct line, right?”
“Hey no one can say Slytherin isn’t good at ancestry, we triple and quadruple check rare family records until we find why you ended up in green while claiming muggle ancestry.”
Literally just a whole underground ancestry revivalist and tradition preservation movement centered around smuggling muggleborns into proper wizarding houses. I think it’s such a fun idea that could be crack or could be like a whole political and legal adventure.
“Oh shit we have THREE eleven year olds who need wizarding last names. WHOS GREAT AUNT WANTS TO TUTOR A CHILD. This one’s good at astronomy, and is interested in runes, the second is super hyped about quidditch and charms, and the third is a little slow but has great intuition for dueling and lying.”

This is actually genius!!!
I feel like at some point the “pure-blood” families have to really look to find spouses in order to not inbreed or go extinct….
It’s quite a shame actually…
Anyway, the idea that they adopt muggleborn kids who are talented in certain aspects of magic into their families is so plausible. The only question: how would it fit onto one of those magic family tree tapestries? Doesn’t the tapestry “know” when someone’s pure blooded? Idk
They could make a whole movie about that!!! A pure blood couple struggling to have kids/try and match their kid with a pureblood heir and then faking a pregnancy/actually “finding” a pure blood match for their kid AND THEN trying to cover up their tracks… that’d be so interesting to watch.
I wonder if they would have “recruited” Hermione since she was basically a genius…

Ok this isn't about a movie for once, it's just a rant...
When y'all are stressed about one thing, do you subconsciously shut everything else out of your brain to focus on fixing what you're stressed about?
That's what I just did and I almost stopped breathing...
This time, I was stressing out about signing up/registering for this conference that I'm going to, but my advisor hadn't sent out the information until yesterday, and I hadn't seen it until today (The conference is TOMORROW). So when one of my peeps mentioned it today (I was in the middle of doing chores) I was like WTF OH NOOOOOO.
So for a whole 2 hours, I had to gather all my information (signing waivers, emergency info, registration info, personal details etc), and wait for people to electronically sign off on things. In hindsight, it wasn't that bad, but for those two hours, I felt absolutely miserable...
Idk how some people can be stressed and pressured on one thing and then turn around and focus on something completely different before going back to dealing with the first thing!
Now, this is an ongoing and repetitive event in my life (cuz I guess my life is relatively stressful and I'm under pressure a lot in general). Mostly I freak out (in my brain) about major schedule changes, unread/last minute emails, getting back to people over text/email about something that requires me to check with another person, I could go on. But I'm actually questioning how to stop it. I need to be able to focus on multiple things at once and not get overwhelmed and distracted by one particular one.
Any suggestions?

JK Rowling really did my girl Ginny dirty... after she and Harry got together, she was just "Harry Potter's girl"... and she was never recognized as her own person.
Wasn't she like some quidditch pro even during school? How was that ignored???? And Harry just got to walk onto the quidditch team with no prior knowledge and experience? Ginny worked her way up.
Harry naming their kids actually gave me the ick... both of Harry's parents were recognized but not Ginny's? Not even Fred? So many of Ginny's relatives died with honor, some not even from the second wizarding war.
I talk more about the child naming here: Link
Anyway, yeah Ginny just didn't have enough of a personality and Harry+Ginny didn't have enough substance in their relationship for me to want to root for them, you know? It was almost lazy and rushed on JK Rowling's part...
Biggest question: When did Harry start feeling the same way towards Ginny? WHEN? It was so sudden?!?! Like WHAT
hello.
I'm, like, bored and don't know what to post but I know I want to post. So yeah.
Uh, what about why I don't like hinny? Because I don't.
Ginny is Ron's sister and Harry always saw her like a sister
His feelings for her kinda just appeared smack dab in the middle of HBP
Ginny had a crush on him before she even met him, presumably because he was, like, famous
Therefore it was more like a celebrity crush
harry only really got a love interest because everyone else did
If you notice in the epilogue, Harry was clearly the 'boss' in the relationship. He named the kids (James? Sirius? Albus? Severus? Lily?) and kept his job (as an Auror? And not the DADA teacher?). Ginny would have gone so hard as a famous Holyhead Harpies player. And Harry would have wanted to step down from the fame and, like, existence.
Tbh I have more reasons and I just forgot them
Ginny? A crush for 6+ years? Obsession much?

Better names for Harry Potter's Children
The way that JK Rowling decided on the names..... why????
There are so many better ways... also some of the names they decided on were so outdated... Albus? Really? It's almost lazy...
You could incorporate Rubeus Hagrid by naming one of the kids "Ruby", how about "Minnie" for Minerva McGonagall?
I also wish they could've been more creative:
Oliver/Olive/Olly (Oliver Wood)
Celeste (for Lupin or Luna)
Jenny, Jennie, Jan (For Hermione's "Jean")
Mollie/Molly would've been cute...
Evan, Evans (for a middle name), Evie, Evelyn, Eve could've been in honor of Lily Potter (her maiden name was Evans)
Instead of outright "Lily": Lilith, Lillian, Lilac, Lillyanne
Heidi (Hedwig)
Fredrick/Winifred (for Fred)
Wolfgang is also kind of outdated, but it gives appreciation to Lupin?
There are also a ton of flower names in the HP series, why not continue: Zinnia, Marigold, Violet, Sunny (Sunflower), Lotus, Magnolia, Jasmine etc.
Wesley: a nod to the Weasley family
Alben, Aiden, Al, Ally, Allen (instead of Albus)

Harry Potter related thoughts that keep me up at night (pt.2)
Fred and George were creeps? Dude the first thing that I thought of when I realized that Ron's rat was Peter Pettigrew, was that the twins could see Peter Pettigrew on the Marauders map. Thus, they could see Peter Pettigrew within the vicinity of Ron every night, and they never thought to mention it???? WHAT! Thats so wrong.
Tumblr media
Dementors, the creatures who destroys people's souls, were the "good ones"? Idk i don't really have much to say... it just confused me, especially as a kid. They're basically killer law enforcement... literally. Isn't the soul sucking literally one of the evilest things that can happen in the wizarding world?
Tumblr media
Leta Lestrange and her place on the Black Family Tree:
Ok this is probably a loophole tbh (i also for some reason can't find the image anymore... strange... )So Leta, in the Harry Potter films, is burned off of the Black Family Tree. There are 2 things wrong with that. 1, aren't girls symbolized as flowers on the family tree? Leta got her own portrait and label that says "Leta". Second, when I looked it up, google says that Leta was burned off of the family tree because she disgraced it by marrying a muggle-born... HOWEVER, in the Fantastic Beasts movies, she was Theseus' fiancée before she dies... From what we know, Theseus was either a Pureblood or Half-blood wizard... AGAIN idk if this was just like- a fan theory that she was burned off of the family tree... I don't remember...
THIS ONE"S REAL: OK so the THING IS... in Fantastic Beasts, Leta dies (sorry for the spoilers) BUT BECAUSE she was the last remaining Lestrange... how the heck did the family line live on??? Like?? WHAT? It's really REALLY possible that there's an entire part of the Lestrange family that isn't mentioned in the stories (again, the Lestrange family has an entire mausoleum), and that's how the family lives on... INTERESTING

Harry Potter related thoughts that keep me up at night
Giving people love potions wasn't a big deal: For some reason, when love potions are mentioned, no one is concerned about the effects that it has on the person? The way the one acts after taking a love potion could easily be described as harassing the one they're obsessed with. This can go as far as to stalking... shouldn't the one who slips the potion to this person be aware of the repercussions??? They're literally drugs lol
Tumblr media
Death at Hogwarts wasn't a big deal either???: BOY I could talk for hours about this one... Ok sure, in the Harry Potter books, there is an unusual amount of death comparatively to when Hogwarts was running during a normal time period (where there were no warnings of looming war threats...). HOWEVER, there are instances where the teachers and the school purposefully put the students in danger with the risk of losing their lives! Exhibit A: the Triwizard tournament! LIKE WTF!! These kids are battling mermaids and dragons and whatnot! They could also easily get killed by things in the forbidden forest (where they serve detention) and get hurt via the Care of Magical Creatures class that Hagrid taught. Aren't schools supposed to be a safe place where students can peacefully learn?
Tumblr media
Which brings me to...
The questionable employment process of staff at Hogwarts: Don't y'all do background checks or interviews? Hogwarts seems to just be hiring randos to teach a class that proved to be the most important class taught at Hogwarts... and the teacher changes every year? Like- Dumbledore, are you ok?

OML I cried because of this scene. Not when the scene happened though... I cried the night I watched the movie because I sat in bed and really thought about what Leta's "I love you" really meant.
Personally, I interpreted it as she was saying it to both of the Scamander brothers.
One "I love you" to thank Newt for letting her feel loved (because in her school years she was practically the most hated girl at Hogwarts). I think that in the moments before she died, she felt immensely grateful for Newt because he never judged her and made her feel welcome at Hogwarts. Newt accepted her for who she was, and in fact loved her so much that he took the fall for her when one of her projects went gravely wrong and endangered student's lives. He basically sacrificed a lot for her, alright? In return, she taught him how to love other people and not feel so bitterly about the world. I think these past words are also, in a way, an “I’m sorry” because of how things fell apart between them, and she feels regret for not trying to pick up the pieces. In all, Newt was her first love, and so in her last moments, she needed to express it one last time.
The same "I love you" is also dedicated to Thesus, but in a different way. In my opinion, Leta never really fell out of love with Newt, but that's honestly really normal, even in real life. You never forget or stop loving your first love...not really, anyway. So, I think that this "I love you" that Leta directs towards Thesus is to thank him for the lasting love that they had. I think that Newt and Leta would have not lasted very long, because of how callous and impulsive she is, and how different Newt was, with his more passive and need-for-calm personality. Leta and Thesus, however, would have probably lasted longer (they were about to get married for goodness sakes). So I think that Leta felt grateful for Thesus' support and warmth, as he loved her with his entire being.
Anyway, I can't say I loved Leta as much as I love the other characters, but she was very important to the story and plotline, and I have to appreciate the role she played in everyone's lives. It was really sad to see her go.
Leta's "I love you."
She looks towards both Theseus and Newt, who are watching her, stunned.
LETA: I love you.
- Crimes of Grindelwald: The Original Screenplay
David Yates: I love the fact that you don’t really know, and I love the fact that you see Newt suddenly feel that she’s saying it to him. I like the ambiguity of that moment. I don’t think you always have to be so definite in these moments.
David Heyman: My interpretation is that she loves Theseus. Theseus is her man for today. If she were not dying, she would marry Theseus and be very happy with him. However, Newt she loves as a first love. Newt will always be a part of her.
- Empire Podcast
Zoë Kravitz: I think she loves a lot of the Scamanders, both Scamanders. I think it's complicated and I think she does love them in different ways.
- Crimes of Grindelwald Premiere
Callum Turner: Objectively speaking, as Callum, I think she’s saying it to both of them. Theseus would think that she’s speaking to him, and Newt would think that she’s speaking to Theseus. Her love for Newt is just as strong as her love for Theseus, and vice versa, just in a different way. It’s heartbreaking that she goes.

An actor that lives in back of my mind: Dane Deehan
GOODNESS did he take a spot in my messy brain so fast! He normally takes on characters who are morally grey, problematic, and/or troubled. I recognized him in Oppenheimer, and I have to say, he's definitely mastered his roles as the architype that his characters usually embody. My favorite movies that he acted in? Probably The Amazing Spiderman 2, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets... its been a while since I've watched them but he's just- idk whatever
I cannot stress how good he is in the romantic/emotional scenes in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets! He's a womanizer military general who falls in love with a girl who tries to brush off his attempts to sweep her off of her feet. It's SUCH an underrated movie! Especially when she explains to him what love is, and he confesses that he loves her and trusts her- ahhhhhh! I could rewatch it a thousand times and feel the same fuzzy feeling. AND the BEACH SCENE!!! Them pinning each other down, catching each other off guard, AMAZING! At first I was a bit iffy about Cara Delevingne as Valerian's love interest, but she's really good at acting as the smart, stoic, badass girl.
Anyway, Dane's just a really good actor, albeit underrated. I feel like he just gets bad lines, but his emotional performances are breathtaking.
Like the scene in The Amazing Spiderman 2, where he (Harry Osborn) pleads at Electro to help him get rid of Spiderman as he gets dragged away, he essentially repeats the same line: "I need you", but his line delivery really takes the cake for me. I could feel the emotion, and how he was so desperate to live. (He suffers from a curse or disease or something that his father died of). I- idk I was so enraptured by his performance idk how to explain it.
I also heard he did a movie with Daniel Radcliffe, but I personally haven't watched it yet lol, maybe soon.

Ummmm yes? I would have loved to see the Malfoy’s character arc, and Draco’s inner thoughts… I feel like he was always forced into things and then kept all of his emotions bottled up…
Lmao I also don’t have the greatest memory but Astoria dies of a blood curse when Scorpius is a toddler :(
Endgame Couples in Harry Potter that I often wonder about - rambles and questions
Tumblr media
Angelina Johnson & George Weasley:
Angelina eventually marries her late boyfriend's brother?
I'm curious as to how that even happens. What's the thought process behind that for her? What about how George feels about it?
Like- girl ended up with her dead boyfriend minus one ear and half of his livelihood gone...
Don't get me wrong, George definitely deserves a great life and future...
But also, (for George) how do you date your dead brother's girlfriend in the first place?
Idk the only real "solution" is that they helped each other through the grieving process of Fred's death???
Tumblr media
Bill Weasley & Fleur Delacour
I can't say I'm well versed in the details of their relationship but... it's definitely interesting.
They definitely have relationship goals moments:
They met by chance: at Gringotts as coworkers
Fought alongside each other during the war
THE WEDDING
But also...
Bill caught Fleur's eye when she was in the Triwizard Tournament: Fleur was 17 Bill was 24 💀💀
How'd that even happen????
Like- whaaaat?
That means that Bill was 18 when Fleur was just starting school at Beauxbatons (which I assume was when she was 11)...
I mean- in hindsight, it's not that bad... but I wish we got more or a build up yk?
Like- Charlie was literally working at the Triwizard Tournament because of the Dragons... how did she not meet him first?
Tumblr media
Ginny Weasley & Harry Potter
No. They had an amazing setup, but no.
It's like dating your younger sister.
There was also no buildup, chemistry, or reason.
I also thought the saving Ginny from Tom Riddle was supposed to be a nod at the "Handsome Prince saves the Damsel in Distress" trope... yeah no.
Also, Ginny literally disappears and has no relevance/importance to the stories after that, only becoming relevant when she started dating Dean Thomas (which I personally thought was cute) and Harry suddenly realized that he was in love with her all of a sudden. There's no buildup, and they had no chemistry in the supposed romantic scenes...
They honestly just did Ginny dirty....
Tumblr media
Nymphadora Tonks & Remus Lupin
Ouch. This made me cry.
Ok I get that the 13 year difference is a bit odd... but to some degree it makes sense:
Remember that Tonks' mother married for love, even if it was out of the norm. Tonks is literally continuing the legacy lol
Lupin and Tonks were both outcasts, they relate to each other and appreciate their uniqueness
Anyway, their sacrifice was brutal but also devastatingly beautiful

YESSSSS
I’m a HUGE Fantastic Beasts fan!!! So when I saw the relationships between the characters in the first movie I was so excited! The friendship between Newt and Jacob is adorable, and I could go on about Tina and Newt. But Tina and Queenie kind of disappointed me are a while…
They had such a good relationship at first, Queenie being able to sense when Tina is in trouble, etc.
But then after Queenie joined Grindlewald, Tina all of a sudden wasn’t really relevant in the movies anymore? (Probably because the actress was busy) And then Queenie (looking at her scenes in the 3rd movie) never had a second thought about her sister when she was on the dark side???? It’s so weird because only one movie ago, she and Tina were literally attached at the hip. They lived together and relied on each other so much!
The continuity just never lined up with the sisters… I hope if there’s a 4th movie that they can kind of mend their relationship a bit.
Anyway tysm for sharing your thought!!!
The lack of female friendship scenes in Harry Potter (and what I personally would suggest) - an investigation
One thing that I wished was different in the Harry Potter series is all of the girl to girl relationships! We need more scenes! We need to dive deeper into these relationships!
Tumblr media
Exhibit A: Cho and Ginny's "rivalry"
They're both iconic and amazing in their own right, and I feel like they could have had such a great friendship!
Not only did they both absolutely kick ass in quidditch, they both risked their lives to join the Hogwarts war efforts! Cho was already graduated by the 7th book, but she chose to come back and help out! Ginny literally was one of the main leaders of Dumbledore's army!
The only reason why JK Rowling would make them rivals is because of Harry and how he liked Cho, but Ginny liked Harry? LIKE- GIRL- not the girls hating girls because of some GUY... seriously??
We need those scenes where they pat each other on the back after a quidditch match to congratulate each other on a good game. Female empowerment moment, yes? Maybe they show each other tips and tricks on their brooms.
There should be a scene where Cho teams up with Ginny during battle! Where they fight death eaters together!
Tumblr media
Exhibit B: Hermione and Ginny's friendship
The only thing that bothers me about this one was that Hermione became friends with Ginny because they were forced to share a room as there was not more space in the Weasley Burrow. It was convenient. While I don't love that, it's ok, it makes sense logically.
There should be scenes where the two girls relate to each other, more scenes where they giggle about boys and talk about the latest books they've read. Maybe they can both complain about Ron and Harry to each other. They practically lived together for a while, so maybe we could get more scenes of them being more sisterly and having a sibling-esque relationship.
Tumblr media
Exhibit C: Luna and Ginny's friendship
Correct me if I'm wrong but these two became friends shortly after Ginny was saved by Harry in the Chamber of Secrets. I feel like at that point, everyone kind of shunned/was scared of Ginny, and Luna was the only one who would talk to her. This is fine and all, but there's no in between fluff about how they built up their friendship from there.
We need more scenes where Ginny defends Luna from bullies, or when Ginny ditches her boytoy to comfort Luna. Maybe there's a scene where Luna misses her mom, and Ginny is there to talk it out with her! There is so much potential in this friendship! When Luna gets kidnapped, how does Ginny react?
Tumblr media
Regardless, I know that there are other female friendships in HP (like the slytherin ones), but these three are probably the most relevant when it comes to the actual story.
Don't even get me started on how Molly, Hermione, and Ginny all hated on Fleur, or when Molly assumed Rita Skeeter's articles about Hermione being a player were true! Like- did none of the girls really have each other's backs?
