look at him omg
summary: you pull an all-nighter to help newt with his book. he just so happens to think you look very cute while struggling to stay awake for him.
words: idk not a lot
warnings: very old blurb from when fbawtft first came out omg. just fluff tho. minors dni tho BACK I SAY!!!
You loved Newt's creatures almost more than you loved Newt himself. You loved working on his book with him, you loved taking care of the creatures. But sometimes life caught up to you, and you suddenly realized you hadn't slept in the last 24 hours. It was 11 PM, the last time you had actually slept was 24 hours ago when you woke up in the middle of the night to Frank carrying on in his biome.
You smiled when you remembered how Newt tried to pull you back into bed when you went to see if Frank was okay. Then you told him what you heard and he was out the door before you stood up. You looked back up at Pickett and scribbled some more in your notebook. Pickett tried to run off the table, but you put your hand in front of him to stop him.
"Now, Pickett. I told you he'd only be a moment," You scolded Pickett and put him back on the table. He stuck his tiny tongue out at you. You did the same. You bowed your head to sketch some more, and could feel yourself slowly drifting. You blinked prufsely, and tried to stay awake, to no avail. You closed your eyes in defeat and gradually slipped into a light slumber. You could feel two warm hands begin to massage your shoulders whilst you were half awake.
"Darling?" Newt's voice echoed in your mind. "Darling, are you okay?" Your head flew up, your head now right next to Newt's as he continued to massage your neck and back. He chuckled and kissed your neck gently.
"Let's go to bed, love," He suggested as he squeezed your chest and bit your ear. You smiled and moaned quietly.
"I would love that," You whispered in his ear. Pickett screeched, which made you remember how tired you were. "But I haven't slept in legitimately 24 hours," He kissed your neck once more before he gathered your things in his arms. You stood up from the bench and carried Pickett to his tree home. Newt waited for you with his arm stretched out, a signal for you to take his hand. You did so, and he lead you to the cottage the two of you shared. You went straight into the bedroom, and Newt, however, stacked your things neatly on the kitchen table and changed into more comfortable clothes before he joined you in bed.
"I love you, Y/N," He whispered as he brushed a strand of hair out of your face with his middle finger.
"I love you too," You replied. You scooted closer to him and placed a gentle kiss on his nose. Before you could pull away, he rested his hand on the back of your head and pulled you in for a kiss.
"As much as I would love to stay up kiss you, darling, you must get to sleep. Now, I love you more than anything-" He was cut off by your snoring. He smiled and kissed your forehead.
"I love you too," You replied in your sleep. He blushed and wrapped his arms around you.
"Sweet dreams, my sleepless love,"

IN SEARCH OF A GRECIAN BEAST
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Theseus Scamander x Reader WORD COUNT: 1.1k SUMMARY: As you, Theseus, and Newt find yourselves on a secluded Grecian beach along the Aegean Sea, an endeavor unfolds to seek out a Hippocampus. However, plans don't turn out as expected. A/N: An angsty yet light-hearted fic in a way. Hope you guys love this lil Theseus one-shot~ WARNINGS: near drowning. angst. Newt literally has no compassion when he’s excited about his beasts lol. PROMPT: “Have you no compassion for my poor nerves?” [from this prompt list] MASTERLIST
“Pray, Theseus, allow yourself a respite! Quit moaning and come with us,” you whine with an exaggerated, sarcastic tone as you trudge down the rocky slope that leads to a stretch of golden sand. Newt is way ahead, feet already on the sand as he scuttles across the rugged coastline that looks upon the Aegean Sea.
Theseus huffs at your words, watching the way your linen top billows in the sea breeze, gleaming under the scorching summer sun. He decides he has no other choice than to follow begrudgingly. He stumbles on his feet, shells crunching at contact, and sees you looking back at him, eyes bright. The curve of your smile goes unnoticeable.
“I thought we were meant to be on holiday,” he calls out to you and his brother.
You merely laugh, and Newt responds without turning back, “Nobody mentioned a holiday, Theseus.”
Theseus scoffs, “Well, I presumed it was, considering you invited me to Greece. Of all places!”
Without warning, you abruptly halt, swiftly turning to face him.
“We find ourselves on this beautiful, secluded Grecian beach, and you're complaining?” You gesture to your surroundings in big movements, arms moving in sweeping motions.
You’re right, he’s being dramatic. Perhaps he finds himself a little sceptical towards your shenanigans with Newt. How you were always closer to his brother than him, even though he never dared admit it to himself that he wished it was the other way around.
Theseus is silent when you fix him with a stern gaze, nearing him. “All I’m saying is, you should loosen up a little.”
There it is. That glint in your stare. It’s hopeful.
Theseus realised long ago that he would do anything for you and be anything you wanted him to be.
“I am loose. I can be loose.”
Your laugh comes off more like a scoff. You don’t believe him one bit. “Right.”
Then, your fist connects with his arm. It’s playful, just like old times. Theseus winces, his palm instinctively rubbing his bicep as he shoots you a maddened look. Despite the irritation etched on his face, the subtle curve on his lips betrays it.
You laugh again. It’s light and sends his heart thrumming faster than ever.
“Come on –”
"Look!" newt exclaims, his voice ringing out excitedly. “Over there.” He points toward the shore with the widest grin Theseus has ever seen.
You immediately grip Theseus’ wrist, pulling him along as you dash towards Newt.
“Hippocamps,” you breathe out, merely a whisper, eyes trained on the clear waters beyond.
Theseus turns to you and clocks on your wide-eyed gaze. Your mouth hangs slightly agape in utter awe as you take in the scene unravelling before you. Glints of deep blue swirl under the crystal waters, their scales glistening like scattered glitter under the Grecian sun.
Then, you release your hold on his hand.
“I’m going in.”
The brothers snap their heads to you, “What?”
You turn to Theseus, “I know these creatures better than anyone. You know that.” Then, your gaze shifts to Newt, “Even more than you, Newt.”
A beat. He sees that you’re now looking at him expectantly as if you need his assurance. That he trusts you. He really doesn’t know why you need it.
“Just… be careful.”
You purse your lips and nod. “I will.”
The waves lap rhythmically as you approach the waters cautiously, gentling wading through and towards the Hippocampi. The water rises to your waist. You catch a hint of a tail under the sunlight, iridescent and reflecting the ocean's blue and green hues.
You take a deep breath – the key is to be calm. Extremely calm. You extend your palm, luminous kelp in your grasp, hoping to lure the creature.
Then, its head emerges from the waters, a horse for a head. The creature curiously eyes the kelp in your hand as you watch in controlled excitement as the others drift closer. You cannot help but smile.
Yet, something beneath you rumbles. It’s so slight that you almost miss it. But it sends a rippling uneasiness to your surroundings that it alarms the creatures. The air shifts, and before you know it, the Hippocampi sense an unseen threat and quickly disappear into the ocean.
Your smile drops.
You see it, a sleek form of green drifting in the depths beneath you. It glides through the water with stealth.
Ashore, Theseus senses your concern. “Something’s wrong.”
Then, he sees you turn to them with panicked eyes.
Abruptly, the water erupts with a powerful surge, and a beast rises from the depths and leaps into the air. Its mane of waterweed cascades with its movement.
It’s a Kelpie.
Newt and Theseus watch in stunned silence.
As the Kelpie vanishes beneath the waves, you’re gone.
Theseus’ heart drops.
Instinctively, Theseus calls your name, charging towards the place you stood moments before. In his sprint, he throws a quick, urgent glance over his shoulder at Newt, who scrambles closely behind, his expression etched with mirrored exasperation.
“Why in Godric’s name is a Kelpie doing here?!”
“That’s a good question –”
Theseus isn’t listening anymore. He can’t think right now, his heart pounding fiercely. Each step intensifies the knot in his stomach.
He finds himself slicing through the waves and propelled beneath the surface. His vision goes blur momentarily; elusive silhouettes move around him like drifting shadows. But as his eyes begin to take focus, he sees Newt, a feet away, seemingly going after the Kelpie.
Theseus whirls around, eyes scanning his surroundings.
He sees you, conscious. You’re looking at him with wide eyes, struggling to stay afloat.
Theseus closes in, and he reaches out, arms enveloping you. With a forceful pull, you are brought to the surface, head heavy against his chest. Your sharp gasp pierces the air, it resonates loudly, but it settles a sense of relief in Theseus.
As you’re pulled to shore, you’re induced into a coughing fit, water forcefully expelling from your lips. Theseus hovers above you, his hand on the back of your head, lifting it from the ground in an attempt to ease your choking. His other palm rests against your cheek firmly.
He says your name, his voice laced with reassurance, yet his gaze lingers with a perpetual panic as he hovers above you, the sunlight casting a halo through his tousled hair. Theseus looks truly distressed.
“Have you no compassion for my poor nerves?!” he exclaims, exasperated in all his dramatic and uptight glory.
“Just… trying to keep you on your… toes, that’s all,” you manage to croak out.
Theseus's laugh passes off as an exhale and grins, shaking his head. Quickly, he presses a kiss to your forehead.
You instantly feel your cheeks start to burn.
“Don’t ever do that again.”
You just smile. “No promises.”
Then, laughter echoes in the distance. Both of you turn to find Newt emerging from the shore, eyes bright.
"That was incredible!"

Fandom: Harry Potter
Summary: Y/N and Newt have been friends for a long time, and for almost as long, Y/N has also had a crush on Newt's older brother Theseus. Years and years later, after their Hogwarts days, several run-ins with Grindelwald, the death of Leta Lestrange, and the wedding of Queenie and Jacob, Newt is still subverting Ministry rules in the name of helping his creatures. And, as usual, Y/N is an accomplice in his schemes. So, when Newt goes running out the door with his creatures and Jacob in tow, it falls to Y/N to distract Theseus and keep him from following Newt's trail. And this distraction might just lead to a bigger change than any of them bargained for.

Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"What do we do?"
"I don't know!"
I looked between Newt and Jacob as they debated, coming off as a little bit more than panicked. They needed to get out of here with Newt's briefcase, without getting held up by the Ministry of Magic. Unfortunately for both of them (and me), Theseus was on his way here as we spoke, and there was no doubt he'd slow down the boys' mission.
"Why is your brother coming after us in the first place?" demanded Jacob.
"Because technically, what we're doing here is illegal. The Ministry of Magic has specific procedures they want me to follow before releasing any of my creatures into their natural habitats, but this time, waiting for their bureaucracy to process things will take too long. My newest rescue won't do well waiting around in captivity for longer than they already have," answered Newt. Jacob looked more stressed than he'd been before.
"Oh great!"
"You two get out of here," I said, jumping into the middle of their argument after watching their back-and-forth for a while. "I'll stay here and slow down Theseus."
They both stopped what they were doing and turned to stare at me, incredulous expressions on their faces. After a few beats of silence, the three of us just looking between one another, Newt spoke up.
"Y/N, are you sure?"
"Yeah, Newt, I'm sure. I can distract him just fine, and you guys need to get out of here. You need Jacob for this a little more than you need me, and I can always meet up with you both later."
Newt stared at me for a few moments, then closed all the distance between us to clasp a hand on my shoulder. He met my eyes with an earnest look, and it made my heart warm to see my best friend like that.
"Thank you, Y/N."
"Of course. Just be safe, the both of you."
Newt nodded, his way of promising, before heading out the door, Jacob with him. I watched them go, and then just like that, I was alone in our little loft hideout.
I'd been best friends with Newt for the majority of my life. Since Hogwarts, in fact. He and I got along like wildfire, and had since our first year together at Hogwarts. I would do anything for him. Theseus and I, on the other hand, were a different story.
I'd had a crush on my best friend's older brother for basically our entire time at Hogwarts. Theseus, on the other hand, had barely noticed me beyond my role as his kid brother's friend, and our relationship had only cooled as I'd spent more time helping Newt and less time fawning over him. In the wake of Leta Lestrange's death, however, Newt and Theseus had gotten close again, and I'd done my best to be there for both of them as well. Theseus and I had gotten to the point of actually being able to call each other friends recently, and I only hoped my decision to distract him today in order to give Newt a clean getaway wouldn't ruin that new step in our relationship.
Oh well. Sometimes, there was no other option but to back your crazy best friend's crazy play, no matter the cost.
I paced around the room for a few minutes, trying to brace myself to see Theseus, but before I was anywhere near ready I heard a loud knock at the door. I couldn't help jumping, but then I did my best to quickly compose myself and went to answer it.
"Theseus!" I said, feigning surprise when I saw the serious face of the Auror before me. He kept trying to lean around me to see inside the little apartment Newt and I had turned into a temporary hideout, and I kept leaning to block him. "What a surprise! It's so good to see you, it's been so long!"
"Y/N, where's my brother?" he demanded, his eyes at last settling on me instead of the space behind me. I fought back a gulp as I forced a smile onto my face instead.
"Newt? Uh... I haven't seen Newt in a while now, actually. I thought he was spending some family time with you?"
Theseus gave me a look that clearly said he wasn't buying any of my nonsense.
"We both know he's not spending time with me. He's been hiding out with you while planning some nonsensical scheme that's going to get both him and his muggle friend into deep trouble. Now tell me where he is."
"What? I mean, uh..."
"Y/N, I'm sorry, but I don't have time for this."
With that, he stepped forward, forcing me to step back or else be run straight into. He pushed into the living room, leaving me standing by the open door behind him, then poked his head into the kitchen in search of Newt.
"Newt! Come out, we need to talk!" he called. He stopped, apparently deciding Newt wasn't in the kitchen, before heading into the living room. I rolled my eyes and closed the front door.
"Please, come right in and make yourself comfortable," I deadpanned. Theseus just shot me a look over his shoulder as he continued to move around my living room. I huffed a sigh, but got dragged back into action as Theseus made his way across the room, getting closer to the back door Newt and Jacob had disappeared out of. If he got there, to the spot they'd left from, odds were significantly higher he'd be able to track them down, especially with a little magical help.
I just needed to buy Newt a little more time. He and Jacob were catching a portkey in twenty minutes, and if Theseus couldn't get to them before that, they'd be in the clear.
"So, uh, the Ministry is still trying to prevent the release of some animals, yeah? That's uh... that's what this whole thing is about?"
"My brother is trying to release dangerous animals into the wild," said Theseus, not halting his search through my living room. I took a few steps closer to him as they spoke. "Keeping them safe in his sanctuary is one thing, but turning them loose on the world is another..."
"I've met all of those animals, none of them seem particularly dangerous to me," I countered, crossing the room all the way to Theseus now. I moved in front of him, standing between him and his search of the top of my fireplace mantle. His eyes landed on me, an exasperated expression on his face.
"Y/N, please. Newt just needs to get a permit, and go through the proper channels. Then he can release whatever animals he wants."
I couldn't help rolling my eyes. "Oh please, you and I both know the Ministry will take ages. Some of those animals will be much better off if they're released now, and not a year from now."
"All the same, I need to do my job and get my brother back. Then maybe I can help him get his permit expedited, but until then, he has to wait. So, if you're done attempting to stall me..."
With that, he turned to start hunting through the rest of my living room, following Newt's trail. I moved after him, hovering over his every step and trying to erase any trace of Newt when I caught it before Theseus.
"Actually, I'm not done stalling you. I think we should talk a little more. Now that we're back to being friendly, you know, I think-"
"Nice try, Y/N, but it's not going to work," said Theseus, a slight smile on his face as he continued to make his way through my living room. "I can talk to you and search for my brother at the same time."
I looked around the room for some sign of inspiration to slow down Theseus, but started to panic as he headed for the door Newt and Jacob had left through. He flung it open and was about to walk out, which meant I had to do something, now.
"Wait!" I cried, rushing across the room towards him. He paused with a sigh and turned back to me, wand in-hand and ready to track Newt and Jacob.
"Y/N, I'm sorry, but I really can't stick around right now. I have a job to do."
"Okay, but just one second. This is important!" I said, slipping into the doorway between him and his target. He leaned forward and into my space, and I couldn't help feeling a little giddy at his proximity. I blame that feeling for clouding my judgment and impacting my next decision.
"What is it, Y/N?" he asked. I panicked, trying to think of something, but I couldn't focus on anything beyond the handsome, wonderful man in front of me and the fact that I could NOT let him through the door. He sighed and took a half step forward, placing his hand gently on my waist to move me aside, and I did the only thing that came to mind.
I grabbed Theseus' shoulders, leaned up, and kissed him full on the mouth.
My brain short circuited all over again as we kissed, and I swear fireworks surrounded us. Then, a moment later, reality set in. I jerked away from Theseus and my hand flew to my mouth, horror sinking in at my actions. I couldn't believe I'd just done that.
"Theseus..." I looked up at him to find him staring blankly off into the space just over my shoulder, looking completely shocked. "Oh my God... I am so, SO sorry!"
Theseus didn't respond, which got rid of any of the remaining fireworks lingering around me. I couldn't believe I'd just done that. Theseus and I had just started to get to a place where we had a good relationship, and I'd probably just destroyed it.
"Theseus, please, I'm so sorry. I know I shouldn't have done that. I just... I needed to keep you from going after Newt, and... and it was the only thing I could think to do. Oh God." I facepalmed. Then, against the rational part of my brain screaming to let me give it control again, I kept talking. "I- well, I've had a crush on you since we were kids, and we were standing so close together and it's like my mind went blank, and it was the only thing I could think of-"
My ramble finally, mercifully got cut off as Theseus wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me back to his side of the doorway before pushing me up against the wall right next to it. Before I could get my brain restarted, he was kissing me, with a level of passion and emotion that I'd only ever dreamed about.
Once I got over my own shock, I wasted no time kissing him back. I tangled my hands in his hair as his grip tightened around my waist, and we stayed like that for a long few moments before finally coming up for air.
We were breathing hard as we met each others' eyes, our faces barley an inch apart. He seemed as shocked as me that we'd actually just done that, and I couldn't help the joyful laugh that bubbled out of me.
"Theseus... what was that?" I asked, a smile steadily growing on my face as I fondly ran my hand through his hair again. He smiled back at me, a slightly sheepish grin on his face even though he looked just as happy as I did.
"I've had feelings for you for a few months now," he breathed. "I didn't know how to tell you, since we'd just gotten back on friendly terms and I didn't want to ruin anything..."
"I've been doing the same thing," I said. We shared disbelieving laughs, and I surveyed Theseus fondly while he looked me up and down with the same care. Theseus leaned in and rested his forehead against mine, the smile still on his face and his voice still a little breathless when he spoke.
"So... I kind of need to go chase my brother now, but... any chance you'd let me take you to dinner tomorrow night?"
I beamed back at him, leaning up to give him a light, soft kiss before responding.
"I'd love that, Theseus."
"Good! Great. Then... it's a date."
"It's a date."
We shared another smile, Theseus still looking a little giddy as he at last stepped away from me and moved towards the door again. The sweet smile turned into more of a smirk as he took one step outside, on his way to follow the path his brother had taken not long ago.
"So... you're not going to try to stop me going after Newt anymore?" he asked, a little of the confident swagger I loved so much back in his tone and body language.
"No," I said with a shrug. "He's gotten far enough away by now that you can't catch him."
Theseus groaned and looked up at the sky, then settled his gaze back on me.
"I hope you're wrong, Y/N. But if you're not... you're buying the first round of drinks as compensation."
"You're on," I replied with a grin of my own. "Have fun on your wild goose chase! Don't let the Ministry people get you down. Newt's doing the right thing."
Theseus just sighed, although he wasn't quite able to keep a fond smile off his face. Whether it was for me, his brother, or the both of us, I wasn't sure.
He gave me one last smile and nod before finally heading all the way out the door, shutting it behind him as he resumed his work. I smiled after him and slowly sank down the wall, my fingers brushing over my lips where Theseus' had just been. It didn't seem quite real to me that the past few minutes had really happened, but I knew for a fact it was real. And that I had a date with Theseus Scamander tomorrow night.
Newt was never going to believe me when I told him the story. Helping him with his crazy shenanigans had never turned out so well.

“Are you wearing my perfume/cologne”
Thank you!!!❤️
Tumblr media
Warnings: NONE
When you came into the room all you saw was a lump under the covers. You smiled as you watched Newt lay under the warm blankets, you were happy to be back from your trip with friends.
When you got close to him, sitting at the edge of the bed and leaning over to see his cute little face you noticed something. He shifted towards you and cracked his eyes open looking up at you smiling sleepily.
“Are you wearing my perfume darling?” You asked as you brushed the hair from his face. He was half asleep at this point and you noticed he was curled up in one of the larger sweaters that you owned and was holding your pillow.
“Is this what you do when I’m not home for multiple days lovey?” You say and you cen tell that he’s more conscious now by the way he’s looking at you.
“I like wearing your sweaters and smelling your perfume when you’re out for long, it makes me feel safe” he murmured into your pillow and you couldn’t help but smile as you watched him.
When you got ready for bed and into the arms of your lover you couldn’t help but notice the tension that was in him melt away in your embrace. The last thought you had before falling asleep was how lucky you were to have Newt in your life.

After your hippogriff injures his wing, you send a letter to your old friend Newt Scamander, asking for help. Will it spark up old feelings?
Newt Scamander x F!Reader
My first fic with him, so I apologize if it’s bad but for the release of Hogwart’s Legacy, I felt the need to try💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He hasn’t seen or heard from you in years. Ever since you guys left Hogwarts, contact with each other kind of faded. You’ve been busy with magical beasts, like him, going to remote locations to do so, even discovering a new one. As a Ravenclaw, he knows that your studies matter before all else, but Newt hoped that you guys would keep some sort of contact.
Of course, he could’ve sent you something, but he was too nervous.
Newt had a crush on you back when you guys were fifth years. You seem to care for creatures just like he did. He’s always wanted to say something, but he was too shy. Then you guys grew up and Newt became busy with his own work. Right now, he was back in America after his brother pulled some tough strings to allow him to travel internationally again.
“What’ll it be this time Newt?” Jacob asked his friend from behind the counter. The magizoologist was in the bakery, leaning against the counter with his case by his feet. Deep in thought, he jumped a bit at the voice.
“O-Oh...just the usual, Jacob.” Newt said while also bending down to clip shut one of the locks on his case, which flipped open for a second,
“Oh come on. But that’s so boring.” The man before him tried to push Newt to get something else, anything that he has put more time into, but the wizard wouldn’t have it.
“My usual, please.” Newt said while flashing a tiny smile. Jacob just sighed before grabbing him a blueberry muffin. He grabbed the baked good and began to unwrap when the sudden sound of something hitting the window startled both him, Jacob, and every other customer in the building. Turning around, Newt recognized your owl sliding down the glass.
He quickly rushed outside, where your owl had come to its senses. The bird fluffed its feathers a bit as Newt offered his arm as a perch. The owl flew up there and landed, and that’s when the wizard realized there was a note tied to its leg.
With shaky hands, he undid and read the letter...
“Newt! Where are you going?” Jacob voiced when the wizard rushed back into the bakery and grabbed his suitcase before rushing out again. Your owl has since vanished.
“I need to get to Scotland.” Newt replied, not stopping his gait. As he left the store, Jacob continued to follow, mumbling “Scotland” under his breath with a confused face. However, as he was wondering about that, Newt was already far ahead of him.
“Wait! Newt! Aren’t you gonna pay-” Jacob called out, but Newt had pulled out his wand and apparated.
“...Never mind.” He then mumbled before walking back into his bakery, trying to calm the public down while also generating loud excuses as for what just happened...
Newt landed in a forest. Based on the smell and surrounding vegetation, he would say that he reached his destination. Your letter said that you would be in this area, so he began walking. It didn’t state much besides that you had an injured creature on your hands. He didn’t know what he would be walking into, but at least his case would have everything that he might need. A small chirp in his pocket made him look down to see a dazed and confused Pickett.
“Sorry about that Pickett. Nearly there I believe.” Newt said to the bowtruckle, looking down.
Around a half hour or so, Newt left the cover of the trees and found himself on a dirt path. Upon following it for a bit, he was led to a grassy clearing that had a broken-down wooden cabin and barn. But that wasn’t what caught his attention and stole his breath away.
An onyx-colored hippogriff was laying in front of the barn with you by its side, gently stroking its feathers.
“H-Hello Y/N...” Newt said nervously, catching your attention. You looked over at him and it stole his breath away. You were still just as beautiful as all those years ago if not more so.
“It’s good to see you again Newt.” You said softly, smiling a bit. The hippogriff next to you lifted its head, noticing the wizard. Newt set his case down and lowered his body slightly in a bow, but the hippogriff didn’t seem to care as it got to its feet and hissed at him.
“Oswald! Stop!” You shouted at the beast as he clawed at the ground. Newt bowed even more in hopes it would appease the hippogriff and keep it from attacking, remaining calm as he did so.
But as the hippogriff spread open his wings to show dominance, he squawked in pain before falling back to his feet, where you began to pet him again.
“What happened to him?” Newt asked, concern for your beast overtaking any nervousness he has around you. Upon further inspection, he realized that the hippogriff’s left wing was bent awkwardly. You scootched a bit so he could crouch down next to you.
Close to you.
“He likes to fly, but I can’t always be with him. One time when he went out, he didn’t return for a while. Finally came back, but on foot. I noticed the wing and how his behavior changed each time I touched it.” You explained to him, keeping Oswald calm as Newt examined it. Your hippogriff seemed to calm down, sensing now that you trust this man to help him.
“I’m not to good with injured beasts, especially wings, I thought that you would know what to do...and I knew it would be nice to see you again.” You said with a smile, petting Oswald’s flank as the hippogriff shut his eyes. Newt nearly stopped breathing at your words but managed to compose himself for the sake of the injured creature in front of him.
“Yes, me too, I also am...I mean, I do know how to help him.” Newt struggled with his words, causing you to giggle a bit and his face to flush red.
A bit of prodding and beak-snapping later, Newt managed to secure and set your hippogriff’s wing. Give him around a month or more, and he’ll be back up in the skies in no time. A broken wing was indeed the culprit.
“Oswald...is he yours?” Newt asked as he watched the hippogriff sniff and bite at the work that was done on his wing. You were shoving his head away each time but nodded to answer the question.
“I saved his life and in turn...he saved mine.” It was all that you told him, and Newt didn’t pry. He knows that look in your eyes because he’s had it himself. Oswald was taken by poachers, probably like some other hippogriffs that weren’t so lucky. Newt didn’t even want to imagine what he looked like before you saved him.
Perhaps you could tell him the full story some other time.
“Anyway, what’s been up with you?” Your tone changed from one of sad to one of joy, and the smile was back on your face. Newt has been waiting for a chance to catch up with you, and here it was. He told you all about his travels, America, and so forth. All the creatures he discovered, Pickett popping out to say hello at this point, making you giggle. In turn, you’ve told him how busy you’ve been exploring and studying creatures. He was eager to hear about the new creature you discovered. Tanukisunes (created by yours truly), name meaning something along the lines of “tricksters”, which resembled foxes with multiple tails while having beautiful navy blue fur. Apparently, they like to trick travelers and steal their belongings, guiding them off the path until they are utterly lost. But they aren’t cruel, guiding the lost traveler back to their path after they’ve had their fun-granted, with some items missing.
“Sounds like they’d get along well with my niffler.” Newt said and you laughed, nodding. The two of you then watched Oswald, who has now gotten on his feet, eyeing the both of you, but Newt in particular, this stranger who you seemed to trust.
You guys watched as the hippogriff took a couple steps forward. Ready to intervene, you stood up, Newt mimicking your actions. However, Oswald did something you weren’t expecting.
He bowed.
“It seems Oswald has taken a liking to you after all. Trusts you as much as I do.” You said softly to Newt, causing the wizard to smile to himself at your words. He seemed to shift on his weight as your hippogriff got to his feet. Newt was nervous about something he was going to ask.
“I-I’m happy to hear that about Oswald because...” He hesitated a bit, swallowing nervously.
“Yes?” You urged him gently. Oswald walked over and nudged his shoulder, encouraging the wizard slightly. Pickett poked his head out and began to chatter incoherently, trying to persuade Newt to speak up. He was grateful for the creatures, feeling comfort from their actions.
“Because it’s not safe out here, and...I think it would be best for me to keep an eye on Oswald...j-just until his wing heals so...maybe you could come with me? There’s room.” Newt offered before gesturing towards his case. He was expecting you to hesitate before saying you were too busy, but you just smiled.
“I was thinking the same thing.”
The smile that spread across his face was enough to make any woman’s heart soar. Pickett chattered in delight, causing you to give him an odd look with a smile. Newt covered up the bowtruckle and gently shoved him back in his pocket. Oswald nuzzled you and you pet his beak in response.
“You’re very sweet, you know that?” You told him with a blush on your face.
“It’s because of you Y/N...always.” Newt told you, smiling softly. Oswald gave you guys looks before swishing his tail a bit, wanting to get on his merry way with you guys. So, Newt opened his case, and the hippogriff took a running leap into it, disappearing inside the larger space hidden within. Relief went in you to know he was safe now.
“After you.” He said politely.
“Such a gentleman.” You teased lightly before going into the case. However, before you disappeared entirely, you gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you so much.” You whispered lovingly, and then you went in, the case clicking shut behind you.
Newt was glad you vanished because you missed the lovestruck smile that he couldn’t wipe off his face. And knowing that you might care for him back made him a bit giddy. However, he was mostly relieved to know that you and your hippogriff were safe and sound with him. It was creatures that introduced you guys to each other, and now it was creatures that brought you together again. In the end, maybe creatures will bring you guys together for good.
But for now, Newt knows he has to return to America, with you in tow this time.
He still has to pay Jacob for that muffin.

Ok but imagine newt and you having some "intimate" moment and when newt turns to his nightstand to turn on the lamp (so he can go to the bathroom without tripping on his own feet) he just sees Teddy -who's slowly putting a stolen coin into his pouch- staring right at his soul. idk why put i laughed my ass off thinking about it
You have written a very funny and sweet script. I like it.😊🥰
Reader and Newt are resting in their beds after a sincere and loving union. New sits up in bed to get water. However, he turns on the lamp so as not to be clumsy. Meanwhile, he notices that Teddy is on the nightstand trying to get the coin.
"Teddy."
You are smiling at this sweet scenario. Moments with Newt are never boring.

obliviate
newt scamander x gn!reader
Tumblr media
summary: you meet someone and can't help but shake the feeling that you've met them before.
words: 1.2k ish
warnings: angst, fluff, badly written blurb from a long time ago lol
You walked onto the sidewalk outside of your apartment complex and watched the people in front of you whisp by in a rush. The cars flooded every which way on the street   only feet away from you. It was two hours before you were expected at your job in a bakery. You dodged every passing car until you got the the other side of the road, where a bank was. A woman stood on the stairs in protest to everything to do with magic. She yelled that they existed, and it was being hidden from the nonwizard. You rolled your eyes and smirked.
"Poppycock," You murmured to yourself. You were never one to believe in magic; a pessimist, really. You were watching the woman instead of where you were walking. As you turned to walk around the bank, you ran into someone head on. The impact was aggressive enough that you both dropped your suitcases.
"Oh, dear- I'm so sorry- I wasn't paying attention- I-" You cut yourself off once your eyes met his. His eyes widened with shock. You couldn't help but smile, and you didn't know why. But when you looked into his hazel eyes, that's all you could do. His red hair was covering his face, and that miraculously made you blush even harder.
"T-terribly sorry, Miss," He bent down to pick up his suitcase and handed yours over to you.
"Thank you- I-..." He walked away briskly before you could ask him anything. You couldn't stop smiling. Something about seeing him made you blush and want to cry out of happiness at the same time. You turned around and watched him watch the protest. A small, woodland, green creature stuck its head out of the collar of his trench coat. It blinked at you.
"Pickett," You blurted out, as if something had forced you to say it. You covered your mouth in confusion.
Newt was trying not to look at you with every fiber in his very being. He had obliviated the only person he had ever promised to love, and now she was back. But this time, it felt like he didn't even know you himself. Two years of lost communication and regret, and so much had happened. You got a job and were promoted to manager. You made money, moved out of your parents house, rented out an apartment, and even managed to date every once and a while. You never had a relationship, though. You always felt as though you had already met your soulmate and lost your chance. You just didn't know whom it was.
You slowly made your way to through the crowd in an attempt to follow the man. He was only a few feet away from you once you were forcefully shoved out of the crowd. You continued walking and watching him as his coat swayed from side to side.
"Sir?" You called after him. "Do I know you?" You asked loudly, finally catching up to him. He kept walking.
"You don't know me," He said in a sternly, his voice almost sounding pained.
"No, I know you from somewhere," You searched your mind for any possible memory of him. It felt like you had a dream about him, like he wasn't even real as he was still walking in front of you.
"You don't know me, now please stop following me," His voice sounded genuine, but, somehow, you know that he was keeping something from you. You gripped his shoulder and turned him around to face you. Your eyes met again, and you couldn't help but smile at him. Your eyes even brimmed with tears. He stopped himself from smiling back, and his face turned to sheer terror.
"I don't know why I'm so happy to see you," You cried softly. "I know you...I know I do-" He cut you off.
"You don't know me! Please, just leave me be!" He shouted at you, his voice broken up. It hurt him more than it hurt you when he yelled at you. Your face immediately dropped into a frown., and your tears of joy turned into tears of hurt.
"You keep saying that...but not once have you said that you don't know..." Your voice trailed off, and your face softened. Memories started flooding back into your mind.
"He seems to really like you," Newt said with a smile as Pickett climbed up your arm and into your coat. His little legs felt like a spider's as he played on your shoulders. You looked up at Newt as he carefully watched Pickett. He returned the gaze and blushed. "You're cute," You murmured to him, making his cheeks turn a deeper shade of pink.
"...me," You finally finished your sentence when you came out do your daze.
"N-Newt," You stammered out. His facial expression dropped.
"How did you-" You cut him off this time.
"I remembered...dear god, I remember you!" You began to sob with happiness again.
"Newt! I'm so happy to see you! Oh my god- I don't know what to do with myself," You chuckled. "God- Newt Scamander! I missed you deeply!" You continued, hugging his neck. He didn't say anything. He just hugged you back and weeped into your chest quietly.
Then, it all came flooding back.
Newt was two steps below you, shrinking to your height as you stood at the edge of obliviation.
"You don't have to do this," Newt said to you, still holding your hand.
"No, no, Newt, I do...it is for your protection, and..." You ran your free hand through his hair. "You know that I would do anything to keep you safe, Newt Scamander," You turned and faced the pouring rain. You stepped forward, but Newt pulled you back, turning you around to face him once again.
"Allow me to make one last promise to you," He began. "I promise, that for as long as I live...I will always love you, even if I never meet you again. I promise to love you forever, Y/F/N  Y/L/N," A single tear streamed down his cheek. Within the last three days, Newt Scamander had given you the most magical experience of your entire life. You wiped the tear and kissed his nose.
"It's funny how the most magical moments of my life...I'll never remember," You smiled painfully, not letting go of him.
"You don't have to forget, Y/N," He began. "We can travel together, we can go wherever you want to go," He searched his mind for more to say. "I'll keep you in my suitcase if I have to," You chuckled and backed away from him. You could see how desperate he was to keep you with him in his eyes. "Please don't go...please," He begged for you to say. His chin began to quiver. "Please stay, Y/N-- I need you," You shook your head as a tear fell down your cheek.
"You don't need me, Newt...I'm just a muggle," His lips parted when you said this.
"You were never just a muggle to me, Y/N," You couldn't keep arguing with him.
"Goodbye, Newt Scamamnder...I promise to always love you too," You stepped out into the rain, letting every drop hit your face. He expanded an umbrella from his wand and covered the both of you. He pushed back your wet hair and planted a kiss on your lips. You wrapped your arms around his waist, and kissed back.
"I'll always love you, Y/F/N  Y/L/N,"  He stepped back, letting the rain obliviate you. When you opened your eyes, he had vanished.

“Darling you need to wear socks to bed, your feet will get cold” newt said to you from the doorway.
“It’s too late newt I’m all ready in bed” you said sleepily, but you knew newt was an unstoppable force when he put his mind to something. “But you will catch a cold” he murmurs
You grumble, turning from him as you heard him walk over to where you lay on the bed. You feel the covers being pulled from your feet and you try to move your feet to be covered by the blankets.
But Newt chuckled and grabbed an ankle and put one sock on and then the other was covered after that. “Now that’s better” he said and covered your feel back up.
He turned your bedside lamp off before getting in on his side. Once he was settled in the two of you cuddled, both of your feet warm and cozy.
