Wood Dragons in particular are characterised for being full of energy, passion and dedication. They have dreams of changing the world and are good at coming up with innovative ideas and implementing them.

Now, let me introduce you to a new friend; The Snow dragon!

Snow dragons only appear when there's snow (they are made out of it), and will melt away once the snow thaws.

Interestingly enough, they are rarely found in places with perpetual snow, instead preferring to exist for a few months before disappearing once more.

They are seen as symbols of fleeting moments and to cherish the now. 💖🎄

🕯Candlewax Dragon🕯

Lo, fellow goblins! Hope you guys have had a wonderful Halloween! 🎃🍂

I meant to post this yesterday, but I've been so burnt out from life stuff and grief from losing my mom, that I honestly struggled to finish this piece. But I did it (thanks to a friend on Discord cheering me on), and now he exists in the world. 🥹💖

Some lore: Candlewax dragons are not found in the wild. They are instead molded out of wax and infused with magic to bring them to life. While this may sound easy, the difficulty with summoning this familier lies with the magic user's ability to control the strength of their magic infusion.

Too much magic will make the candlewax dragon too hard, rendering it a lifeless statue. Too little, and the poor thing will melt into a puddle of wax, never to reform.

A good candlewax dragon remains firm, yet pliable, and is able to reform itself if it gets squished. They may start melting due to their flames from time to time, but this can easily be remedied by peeling off the melted wax and feeding it back to the dragon. Wax chips can also provide extra sustenance for them.

Candlewax dragons come in many shapes, sizes and colours, and are considered to be one of the most customisable familiars. They are mainly content sitting by their owner's side or on tables/vantage points, preferably holding something (they like to feel included). 💖💖💖

This year belongs to the Water Rabbit. 🌊🐇 💖 Those born under this zodiac sign are said to be vigilant, witty, quick-minded, and ingenious. They are also kind, patient and responsible, but can be reluctant to reveal their thoughts to others and have a tendency to escape reality. Water Rabbits in particular are characterised for being gentle, amicable. They are also able to readily adapt to different conditions. Is it still very obvious that I have zero idea what I'm doing when drawing water? 🤣 Anyway, I hope all of you have a wonderful Lunar New Year, regardless of whether you celebrate it or not! And may the year ahead be filled with happy rabbit binkies. 💖

🫂🎃Halloween Snuggles🎃🫂 A Plumpkin mama and child being cozy together. Plumpkins grow from enchanted pumpkin seeds (or seeds from a plumpkin itself), and emerge in Autumn ready to eat your stash of snacks and candies. Don't feed them too much though, they'll get sick. When not trying to fight you for the last cookie, Plumpkins are pretty docile and friendly, and make perfect companions for magicfolk of all ages. Dedicated to my mom who recently left this plane of existance for another. Love you and miss you lots, mom. 💖

Sliding in on the last day of Smaugust yet again lol. I actually had an entire line-up of dragon friends for you goblins to meet, but things have been kinda tough on my end. I'll have a life update soonish about that. 🙃

Now, onto SOME LORE!

Meet the Coral-Eater Dragon! These large yellow sea-noodles can be found pootling about the seabed whilst acting as a mobile microhabitat for fish.

As their name implies, these dragons chiefly eat coral. Armed with tails that are encased with hard, stony coral, Coral-Eaters will break down soft corals to feast on by bashing them into smaller pieces to swallow.

Both sexes of these species also boast hard coral antlers which they use for defense and courtship (a male and female will typically engage in locking of antlers to see if they are a match for each other). 💖🐉

Despite being the distinguishing features of the species, Coral-Eater hatchlings are not born with coral-encased antlers or tails. Newborns must be guided by an adult to where mass coral spawning occurs in order to let planulae (free-floating coral larvae) settle and attach onto their bare horns and tails.

Coral-Eater Dragons are a generally docile species, and it is said that wherever one dies, a coral reef will grow in its place. 🐟🐠🪸

I too wish that puberty came to me in the form of being able to turn into a giant red panda!

Watched Turning Red on Saturday, and it was such an enjoyable and heartfelt movie! It also covers several important, but rarely talked about topics, which is always neat to see. 💖

Today (1st Feb) officially marks the first day in accordance with the lunar calendar. A new year means a new zodiac! This year is graced by the Water Tiger. 🐅 💖

Those born under this zodiac sign are brave, competitive, unpredictable, and confident. They are very charming and well-liked by others. However, they are sometimes impulsive, irritable, and overindulgent.

Water Tigers in particular are known for their strong sense of self-esteem and ability to learn well.

I've never really illustrated many water-themed drawings before this one, so it was definitely a challenge. I did have a pretty clear idea of how I wanted this piece to look like though, which helped loads.

Anyway, I hope all of you have a wonderful Lunar New Year, regardless of whether you celebrate it or not!

Behold, the Yule Cat! 🎄🎁

Hailing from Icelandic folklore, the Yule Cat (also known as Jólakötturinn), is a massive and vicious cat that prowls the snowing countryside during Christmas time.

It is said to eat people who have not received any new warm clothes to wear before Christmas Eve.

This cautionary tale is told to children to ensure that they work hard throughout the year (to earn money to buy clothes), less they be eaten by the ferocious cat. Although, I'm pretty sure this Yule Cat just wants ear scritches. What do you reckon? Would you risk it? 😂

Last day of #smaugust and not a moment too soon! 💖 Meet the Marble-eyed dragon! These lil' critters belong to micro dragon subspecies, which are known affectionately as 'pocket dragons' (although keeping them in your pocket is ill advised, unless you want to risk a fire). Fitting snugly in the palm of the average human adult, these dragons are relatively drab in colouration. However, as their name implies, their eyes are reminiscent of coloured glass marbles. This is a result of having been selectively bred to develop a form of sectoral hetrochromia (split iris colours) in both eyes. Individuals with 3-coloured irises are rare and highly sought after by fanciers. Marble-eyed dragons (apart from the occasional fire-breathing), are relatively easy to care for, and can be taught simple tricks. Their diet consists of mainly of mealworms and fresh corn kernels. They have a weird habit of hoarding twigs, and will become aggressive if you attempt to remove them. 😂🐉
