I just finished episode 3 so slight spoiler warning for anyone not up to it yet ⚠️

Something in your eyes

A Jungwon oneshot

Summary: Y/n was well over due for her anual eye test, and after barely passing her latest exams due to not being able to read the questions, they finally decide to go do their check up. But what they didn’t expect was for there to be someone new behind the desk

Authors note: Hiii, it’s like almost 11 pm right now while writing this and I have shampoo in my eye so this is not prooth read (also- kinda what inspired the title). I tried to make this a gender neutral as possible, but please forgive me if I missed something

Warnings: none!

I wake up to the birds singing outside my window and the sun managing to crack through the curtains as it blurs my vision further. I extend my hand out lazily to my bedside table where my phone lays on charge. Pressing the side, the phone screen lights up as I bring it within a few inches of my face.

“1 : 19pm”

My eyes widen as I fly out of bed, dropping my phone on the mattress behind me and running towards my closet.

“One nineteen… one nineteen… I’m gonna be late!” I coo, shivering as the cold air hits my back, my white t-shirt warming me up in seconds as I pull it over my head.

I run to the front door in a flash, fighting to get my feat into the holes of my worn out sneakers as I pick a coat off the rack and fling it over my shoulders.

I’m out the door and down the street in record braking time as I run in through the mall doors, past all the confused couples and kids trying to get a peak at what probably looks like a cop chase and in through the entry to the optometrist.

“1 : 27”

I walk to the front desk where I stand in line behind this old lady, who’s outfit consists of the prettiest blues and greens I’ve ever seen before being greeted by… a new… cute… employee.

“Name?” The dark haired boy asks as I snap out of my daze.

“U-uoh… right- it’s y/n, I’m here for my 1:30 appointment?” I say, trying my best not to stare as the young boy offers a friendly smile.

“Well then, y/n, just follow me” he sings as he leads me to the back of the store and into the room I’ve grown all to familiar with.

The posters of colour and black and white that dot the walls like bees in a felid of flower are advertising different eye products and glasses frames, each poster’s text getting smaller and smaller, my vision failing to let me read on.

The young boy motions for me to sit down as he brings the monitor closer to my face.

“Rest your chin on he-“ he goes to instruct but I cut him off by settling my chin on the rest of the monitor like always. This part never changes, it’s like deja vu.

“I take it you’re familiar with this?” The boy says with a small chuckle as he sets up the screen, a blurry picture sitting in the bed of pixels that press against my face.

As a picture of a hot air balloon starts to come into focus I try to relax my eyes.

One snap. Left eye.

Second snap. Right eye.

And just like that, the easiest part is over.

I go to stand up but stop my movement when the worker frowns at his computer, the photo of my eye blurred on the screen.

“There was something in your eye” the boy says as my face goes a light red, slightly embarrassed as I sit back down, adjusting myself in the seat.

The young boy, with out warning, then reaches his hand out towards my face, cupping my chin gently as he looks at me with a friendly yet intense gaze. I can feel my heart skip a beat as his fingers brush against my eye lid to try remove the lash that had gotten in the way.

My blush must be obvious when he then proceeds to trace hid hand gently down my face and over my bottom lip.

“You’re bright red” the boy teases with a small grin playing at his lips, and I can’t help but freeze up right then and there, the only movement coming from me being when I try to clear my throat in attempt to speak.

The boy sighs as he removes his hands from my face, my heart returning to its steady pace as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper and then starts to write on it.

Grabbing my hand, the worker puts the note into my open fist, closing my fingers over it.

“Text me later, I’d like to meet properly” the boy says as he points to his name badge, which reads ‘Jungwon’
