Being The Daughter of Snapeâs Closest Child-Hood Friend And Him Being Your Mentor Would Include:
Upon your arrival at Hogwarts during your first year, it was clear that Professor Snape was able to recognize you almost instantly. It wasnât just the fact that you were a splitting image of your mother. Though, you had always been oblivious to your motherâs connection with Snape, he had not been the same to your existence. As the years after their graduation passed, Severus and your mother did well to keep in touch with one another. By no other way than through letters. It is how he knew of both your birth, and your arrival to Hogwarts.
It was almost instantly that Snape knew that he felt some sort of obligation towards you. Not only did he swear to help you excel in your studies by becoming your mentor, but he also swore to protect you from any harm that may come to you.
When first meeting Snape, like many of the other students you could feel his intimidation. Seeing how closed off, and guarded he acted.
Although, this only made you more curious about him.
With your time under his mentorship, you had come to learn that Snape had taken a liking to you. Not only giving you knowledge, but treating with you kindness.
Realizing Snape wasnât as awful as students proclaimed.
Bonding with him over your shared connection with your mother. Often itâs when he notices you do things that remind him of her. Or, as the both of you are having tea together and he spends hours on end talking about his memories of your mother.
Snape believing you can become greater than you could possibly imagine. âMy dear, you have more potential than you can even imagine. I believe that one day you could become of the greatest witches this school as ever seen.â
His words meaning the world to you. âThank you. Iâm just trying to make my mother proud.â
Him telling you, that you are. And he is proud of you too. âShe is proud, as am I.â
It was in that moment, you had seen him smile for the first time. A real and genuine smile. And you had then known, how much he truly cared for you.

Imagine: Elijah reassuring you.
Fidgeting with your fingers, you couldnât help but look up at Elijah, as he stood across from you. It was quite overwhelming to have your past and present colliding with each other all around once. Your past with The Originals, was catching up with you and interfering with your present life with The Salvatore Brotherâs. And it put had a lot of weight on your shoulders. Because Stefan and Damon, who were practically like older brothers and your friends, were unaware of your past with the Mikaelson Family. âElijah⌠I donât know to tell them.â You shake your head. âItâs only going to make things complicated.â
Elijah, was your sire. The vampire who had turned you. He was your friend. Like a parent to you. You and him had a lot of history.
This was difficult for you. Knowing, that you had to tell them.
Elijah, softening his expression. âY/N, I know this is incredibly difficult for you. But, I do believe jt would be wise if your friends knew about your history with my family. Keeping secrets from them, wonât make matters any easier.â
âI know, I know.â You sighed. âItâs just⌠I canât imagine theyâll take it very well. Stefan and Damon can beâŚa little overprotective.â
Elijah couldnât help but let out a chuckle. âI donât think I have much to worry about. Iâm an original, remember?â He gave a smug smile.
âElijahâŚâ You began.
Elijah placed a hand on your shoulder, giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze. âPlease, donât worry. You have my word, that I will help you in telling them.â
You nodded. âOkay. Thank youâŚâ

Imagine: Being Kendallâs Younger Sister And Comforting You Because Youâre A Writer And People Were Talking Bad About Your Book.
Feeling a lump in your throat, you stared down at the copy of your book staring on the counter in front of you. Writing had always been one of your passions, ever since you were younger. So, you were always writing some sort of story. Now that you were older, and ever since you and your family had moved into the Palmwoods you thought it was no better place than to attempt to start off your career. You began working on your book, and had come a very long way. You had given a few copyâs out for people to read before you considered going to a publisher. But someâŚunkind words bad spread about it. And now you felt extremely discouraged.
The apartment door swung open. You looked up to see your older brother, Kendall. Kendall looked to Katie. âHey, baby sister.â Then looked over to you. âOther baby sister.â He nods.
You looked to him. âHeyâŚâ
Right away, Kendall had sensed that something was bothering you. He looked to you, raising an eyebrow. âY/N, are you okay?â
You let out a breath, shrugging your shoulders. âIâmâŚpeachy.â
Kendall walked over to the counter, and noticed the book. âHey, itâs your book.â He gave a smile, picking up the copy. âIâm still reading the copy you gave me, but..itâs so amazing. Youâre so talented, baby sister.â
You looked down. âGlad you think so.â
Kendall frowned. âYou donât think itâs good?â He shakes his head.
âNo, I do.â You said. âBut⌠It seems the others donât think so. Theyâve been talking bad about it, saying itâs trash.â
Kendall stared. âTrash?â He shakes his head. âTrash? Your book is not trash, Y/N. Itâs amazing. Writing something like that takes real talent.â He placed a hand on your shoulder. âHey⌠Donât listen to them, okay? You keep doing what you love. Donât let them stop you from showing off your talent.â
You looked at Kendall, as he gently squeezed your shoulder. Which, seemed to relax you slightly. âThanks.â You gave a half-heartfelt smile to him.

(Enzo St.John x Vampire Reader!)
Summary: When the Reader finds herself reliving the horrors of Augustine Society through the form of Nightmares, Enzo comes to the Reader's side to calm her with a sense of comfort and security.
Warnings: Mentions of experimentation?
MYSTIC FALLS
The nightmares. The neverending nightmares... When the nightmares first appeared, it seemed they may have been a sign of your distress. Which, didn't seem so odd. Given the recent invasion of Lily Salvatore's Heretic Family in Mystic Falls, you had found yourself becoming overwhelmed by the whole ordeal.
But after a while, you noticed the nightmares didn't stop.
They became more frequent and more intense. It was then that you realized, your past traumas were beginning to reawaken. And you didn't know what to do.
You knew your friends already had a lot on their plate with the Heretics. The last thing you wanted was for them to worry about your well-being. So, you kept the nightmares to yourself. Deciding, they were your burden to bear.
Sooner or later, you knew it was only inevitable that someone would discover your secret.
You always thought it would perhaps to Caroline, or Bonnie. They were usually always the first to notice was something was off with you.
Then again, you didn't put it past Damon to snoop around when he thought you were being secretive.
However, it was the one person you actually needed by your side, that was the one to find out.
Enzo.
Enzo had been one of your closest friends. Ever since you met him after being captured by the Augustine Society. How could you ever forget that awful day? What went from a peaceful stroll through the town, became your worst nightmare.
You remembered how awful it was for you.
Being vervained. Dragged and thrown into a cell.
In that cell, was the first time you met Enzo. Who, had seemed to learn Augustine's methods. Right away, he told you all about their experiments. He told you everything you needed to know. Enzo helped you survive those awful years that you felt so hopeless and lost.
And now so many decades later, he was helping you through it all over again...
Cold. Dark. Thirst. As you felt every muscle in your body weakened, all you could think about was your need for blood. More blood. Blood have you strength. Gave you power.
But being deprived of that blood, took away any ability to fight for yourself.
Which made you feel powerless.
Day in, day out was always the same. You sat in your cold, darkened cell. Usually leaned up against the wall. The Doctors gave you your daily blood ration, and you awaited to see if today would be your day to be experimented on.
Augustine had so many Vampires, it resulted in all of you having to take turns.
Sometimes it was days, sometimes it was weeks. Neither of you never knew when it was going to be your turn to be tested.
With hitched breathing, you were leaned against the wall. Just trying so hard to keep going. To keep some strength.
As you laid there, the sound of the cell door creaking open, made your ears perk up.
You turned your head. Entering your cell, were two Augustine Doctors. One of then greeted you with a sinister smile. "Youâre up.â
âNo! Stay away!â You spat.
The Two Doctors each grabbed one of your arms, lifting you up into your feet. "Come on doll, won't be that bad today."
"No! No! Please!" You tried to fighting them, as they pulled you out of the cell into the hallway. "Please. Please. I don't want to. Please!" You begged.
Your feet dragged against the floor, as they carried you down the hallways.
Eventually, you found yourself in the lab room. It was a long room filled with medical equipment and machinery.
The two Doctors, walked you through the room until they stopped by one of the tables.
Carelessly, they throw you down onto the table.
You laid there, as they tied you down. Both of your arms and your legs were tied down to the table.
The Doctors then pulled out a needle. A needle filled with vervain. Injecting it into your neck to sedate you.
"Please! Please let me go!"
"Now now dear Y/N, we've done this enough times, you know the procedure." One of the doctors husked. "Just a few cuts. Some stitching. We can get your back to your cell, in no time."
You leaned your head up, seeing the door to the room be shut and locked tight.
Tears filled your eyes. Your breathing becoming more and more rapid. You began to panic. You struggled in your restraints. "NO. LET ME GO YOU BASTERDS!" You screamed.
The two Doctors stood on either side of you. Preparing their tools.
You squeezed your eyes shut, tears rolling down your cheeks feeling nothing but fear and despair...
Gasping for air, your eyes shot open and you felt sweat roll down your face. You sat up, running your hands through your hair and letting out a shaky breath. Trying to calm yourself. 'It's just a dream. It's just a dream.' You tried telling yourself.
That's all it was, a dream.
But, that dream had once been your reality. Maybe that's why it was so much more terrifying?
You ran your hands over your face, sighing in frustration as you began to feel your tears well up in your eyes.
Why did you have to dream about that again?
Why couldn't the nightmares just go away? Because you spent decades, trying to forget your past with the Augustine Society.
But it seemed your subconscious couldn't quite let it go.
"Are you alright, love?" A voice called out.
Turning your head, you looked over in the bedroom doorway. Standing there with a mixture of both concern and curiosity on his face, was Enzo. The older vampire narrowed his eyes.
You blinked. "Enzo?"
"Y/N, is everything alright?" Enzo cautiously entered the room. "I heard you screaming out."
You swallowed. You just have been crying out in your sleep, and alerted Enzo. You breathed out. "Y-Yeah." You nodded. "Just a bad dream."
Enzo shakes his head, walking over to your bed. "Just a bad dream?" He paused for a moment. "That didn't seem like just a bad dream to me, love." He could tell it was something more than that. "More like a nightmare"
You looked away from him. Trying to avoid eye contact. "I...don't know."
Enzo huffed. He sat down on the edge of the bed beside you. "The way you're avoiding looking at me is telling me otherwise."
"It's...not important." You lied.
Enzo grabbed your chin, making you look at him. You could see the determination in his eyes. He wasn't going to let it go. "Y/N, holding it back isn't going to do you any good."
You knew he was right about that. Keeping this to yourself any longer, wasn't going to make it go away.
Would keeping it from Enzo really make a difference?
Enzo knew you better than anyone. And if there was one thing you had learned about him over the years, he didn't like seeing you in pain.
He hated to see you suffer.
Sighing, you lowered your head. Maybe if you opened up to someone, there was a chance that you could rid yourself of these awful nightmares. You took a moment, trying to gather your words. Talking about wouldn't be easy. But, you knew Enzo would listen to you and console you. You let out shaky breath. "I've...been having nightmares." You told him.
Enzo titled his head. "Nightmares?"
You nodded your head. "Yes. And... I've been having them almost every night."
Enzo's expression softened. The older vampire looked to you. What could you have possible been having nightmares about?
"What are these nightmares about?" He asked, gently.
You took a deep breath. You knew you had to tell him the truth. No more lies. You didn't want to hide things from him any longer. "Augustine."
Enzo's expression fell. "Augustine?"
You gave him a sad nod of your head. "Yes. And they won't stop... They... They won't go away, Enzo. I...I don't know what to do." You shake your head. "I don't know why I'm having them."
"Y/N darling, I am so sorry." Enzo shakes his head. "I...I didn't realize."
Tears welled in your eyes. "I just want them to go away, Enzo. I just...I just want it to go away."
Enzo looked to you, feeling his heart ache for you. He wanted to do whatever he could to make you feel better. He leaned closer. "Oh darling, don't cry." He brushed his fingers along your cheek.
"You know what I went through. What...we all went through." You told him.
Enzo nodded his head. "Of course I do, love."
A tear rolled down your cheek. "Why? Why does this have to happen now?" There was so much going on in your life already. It was too much to bare.
Enzo took your hand in his. "I don't know, love. I wish I had answer for you."
"Enzo..." You looked to him. "You and Damon were the only reason that I managed to survive that awful place." It was true. Having Damon and Enzo's companionship, helped you get through all of those awful days and nights. Helped you keep on fighting. Helped give you hope. "I...don't know where I would be without you both."
Probably dead, if you were being honest. After all, Damon and Enzo helped you escape their captivity.
You owed them your life.
Enzo kept ahold of your hand. "Listen to me, Y/N. You are strong. You are going to get through this, do you hear me?" He knew that with him by your side, you would overcome it all.
You sat there, as he held your hand. Listening to his voice as he spoke. It seemed so...comforting to you.
Enzo kept his voice calm and steady, trying to keep your mind off of what was bothering you.
And surprisingly, it seemed to work.
You let out a sigh. Closing your eyes, and letting yourself relax a little bit. "Okay." You nodded.
Enzo gave you a reassuring squeeze of your hand. "Don't worry darling. I'll be here by your side I promise."
That you believed was true.
There was no doubt about it. Enzo would never abandon you. He always had your best interest at heart.
And you adored him for it.
"Okay." You nodded again.
Enzo's eyes softened. "Hey, why don't I stay here while you go back to sleep?" Perhaps then, you could feel at ease knowing he was by your side. "I'll stay right here, love. I promise you that."
You sniffled. "You will?"
"Of course, love." Enzo nodded his head. He raised a hand, brushing a strand of hair out of your face. He gave you a smile. "You mean the world to me. You're one of my closest friends, and I wouldn't ever dare let anything happen to you."
You managed a soft smile to return to him. "Thank you, Enzo. For...everything you've ever done for me."
"No need to thank me, love." Enzo tells you.
You let out a shaky breath. You looked to Enzo. Maybe, just maybe if you had someone by your side. It would keep the nightmares away. And maybe, just maybe that someone would be Enzo.
"Okay, I'll try to go back to sleep." You nodded. You laid your head back, then resting it on the pillow.
"As you should." He nods.
"Good night, Enzo." You smiled at him.
Enzo kept his smile. He bend down, giving your forehead a tender, yet comforting kiss. "Goodnight, Love." He caressed your face, before pulling away.
Enzo laid down beside you, pulling the blanket over you.
You relaxed in his presence, feeling much better now that you shared your secret with him.
And soon, you found yourself falling into a calm, and peaceful slumber...

Imagine: Enzo trying to cheer you up after youâve had a bad day.
As your footsteps echoed throughout the Salvatore House, Enzo St.John couldnât help but watch as you so obviously seemed to be in some sort of frustration. The older vampire was leaned up against the wall, with his arms crossed over his chest. âWell, you certainly seem to be in a not so happy mood.â Enzo pointed out. Enzo had known your frustration very well. So, he knew how incredible impulsive your anger could make you sometimes. But given he was one of your oldest friends, he also knew how to cheer you up. âWhatâs the matter with you, love?â He asked.
You stopped in the living room, but turned to face him. And thatâs when he saw the blood on your face, and your shirt. âNot now, Enzo.â You told him. âNot in the mood.â
Enzo uncrossed his arms, walking over to you. âY/N, no need to be hostile.â
âOh, Iâm sorry given I was just thrown around like a damn rag doll by Mary-Louise and Nora, I think that I have every right to be pissed off.â You stared at him. The rage evident in your gaze.
Enzo nods. âAh I see, the new kids arenât playing nicely.â He sighed. âCalm down, love.â His expression and voice went soft. He placed his hands on your shoulders, looking into your gaze. âWhy donât you go and get yourself cleaned up, and Iâll make you a nice hot cup of tea? Then we can watch one of those silly movies that you like?â He smiled softly.
You let out a deep breath, looking up at Enzo. That did sound nice. Besides, with all of this Heretic mess going on, you hadnât much time to spent with Enzo. âIâŚguess that sounds nice.â You told him.
Enzo kept his smile. âIâll stay here with you, okay? I know you need someone to cheer you up.â Enzo leaned down, pressing a kiss to your forehead. âAnd I would be happy to be that someone.â
You smiled. âThank you, Enzo.â
âOf course, love.â

It all started in the 1950âs. You had been a young vampire, wondering your way across the world. You spent your immortal life living it to the fullest. Doing all of the things that you wanted to do and even more. But one awful night, it all changed when you were captured and imprisoned by the Augustine Society. Over the years in captivity, you and Enzo learned to become friends. And the older vampire had become quite attached you. Both of you forming a sibling like relationship.

Being called: âLoveâ, âKidâ, âMy Dearâ by him.
When youâre sad or scared, Enzo letâs you hug him, and he would hug you too. He always runs your back, and caresses your hair while trying to give you some encouraging and reassuring words. âItâs going to be alright love, youâre going to pull through this.â

Imagine: Sara Lance helping you escape Bishop, and taking you in, and her telling you that you can start a new life with The Legends.
Being stuck on that god-awful alien planet, with that psychopath, Bishop, was hell enough. But what made things so much worse for you were the experiments. The experiments and tests he would run on you. He always would tell you that you were meant for the greater good. That you would be aiding him in saving the human race. But with him, it was always one lie after another. You spent months locked in his lab. Day after day, in misery. Until one day you finally escaped. Thanks to a group of time travelers known as The Legends. Their Captain, Sara Lance had taken you in. And, you had been with them ever since escaping that planet.
Letting out a shaky breath, you were sitting on the stairs in the console room. But you weren't alone. Sara joined you.
Sara looked over at you. "Hey... Everything is going to be okay. You're safe now. Bishop can't hurt you anymore."
You looked at her. "Yeah..."
Sara Lance placed a hand on your shoulder. "Y/N, listen to me. I know you went through a lot back there. A lot more than I did. But you don't have to be scared anymore. Bishop is gone. You're safe... And, this team, we're going to look after you, okay?" Her expression softened.
You let out a shaky breath. " I just don't want to be alone anymore."
"You're not alone anymore," Sara said, gently squeezing your shoulder. "This team is a family. And you are a part of this family now. You have a second chance. A chance to start a new life. With us, if you so choose. You are a Legend now." She smiled.

While assisting Thawne, Y/N begins to comfort Thawne about his sudden disappearance. Will Thawne tell her the truth? Will he keep secrets from her?
(SET DURING S2 EP10 âLegion of Doomâ OF DCâS LEGENDS OF TOMORROW!)
The Vanishing Point
An awkward silence drifted throughout The Vanishing Point as you stood in the middle of the room, both of your arms crossed over your chest. Part of you didnât want to move an inch. Perhaps it was the mere fact you were in a room full of complete strangers, all but the blonde-haired man who was a familiar face. Eobard Thawne. Not only a speedster, but your mentor and a good friend. You shifted in your position. The lingering stares from the two other men in the room, Damien Darhk and Malcolm Meryln left you feeling uncomfortable. âEobard⌠Care to explain the child standing in the middle of the room?â Damien raised a questioning eyebrow. You looked between the two other gentlemen. Guess they hadnât quite been informed that of tour presence yet. Malcolm nodded his head as well. âYes. Because Iâm not quite understanding who she is or why sheâs here when she clearly doesnât belong.â He quipped.
Eobard was quick to pick up your nervousness. âGentlemenâŚâ He placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. âYouâll want to treat this young lady right here with the uttermost respect.â
âWhy is that?â Malcolm quizzed.
âGentlemen, meet Y/N L/N.â Eobard told them. âSheâs an intelligent young woman, who happens to also be a speedster like myself. And, she is here because she is going to aid us in our mission of retrieving The Sphere of Destiny.âEobard gently squeezed your shoulder, before letting go. It wasn't easy for you to remain still; especially when you had never met these people before. But, there was no reason to show any more fear or uncertainty than necessary. So, you took a deep breath, and straightened your back. âHelloâŚâ You spoke, quietly.
âThis is your plan?â Malcolm scoffed. âA teenage girl with super speed?â He seemed disgruntled.
"I assure you.â Eobard assured him. "My time spent with her has proven to me she's exactly what we need." Eobard seemed confident.
âWhich comes to my questionâŚâ Damien stepped forward as well. âHow do you know this girl?â You crossed your arms over your chest. While you were open to speak as well, you just didnât think the time was right. âAll you need to know is sheâs my student. And Iâve been training her in how to properly use her abilityâs.â Eobard replied, simply.
âTraining?â Damien blinked.
âWhich in other words means, sheâs useless.â Malcolm retorted. âShe doesnât know her full potential, which means sheâs more vulnerable.â You felt a string pull at your heart. You looked down, hurt by the manâs words.
âMalcolm does a point, Eobard. Your underling canât be relied upon. She knows nothing about the abilities she possesses. It would be unwise to to bring her into this if sheâs not capable.â Damien argued. He knew that they needed someone who could help. Someone powerful enough.
You looked up to see the three men staring at each other. It was understandable if they seemed hesitant about this. But although you were still learning about your abilities, you knew you would be fully capable of what little of your powers you knew to aid them on their mission. They just needed time for you to prove it to them. And you were sure that Eobard would do his best to try and help them see that.
âGentlemen, I know you have your doubts about her.â Eobard replied. âBut I assure you. She is a speedster. She can learn quickly. If you give her the opportunity, she will prove herself to be a valuable asset.âAnd as her teacher, I will not let her fail.â
âI canât believe Iâm listening to this.â Malcolm scoffed. He shakes his head. With that, the archer didnât hesitate to leave the room.
Damien stepped closer to Eobard. âYou canât blame him, Eobard. Bringing a kid into this isnât your smartest idea. Just think about it. Iâll leave you and the girl to talk.â Damien nodded his head, before he too decided to leave.
That left you and Eobard.
Letting out an exasperated sigh, Eobard rubbed his forehead. âThey really itch my nerves.â
You frowned. You could tell that Eobard was extremely stressed out about the situation. You looked down. âEobard⌠Iâm sorry that your partners are hesitate to trust you bringing me along.â You looked back up, your gaze meeting with the speedsters. âBut⌠Maybe itâs just going to take them some time? I mean, donât you remember how hesitate you were at first about teaching me how to use my speed?â You tried to remind him. Hoping heâd get your point. Eobard looked at you. He paused for a moment, but soon nodded his head. Remembering back to a time so long ago, when the two of you had first met. âYesâŚâ He muttered. âI was so unsure. I didnât think you would be capable of handling that kind of power. But⌠In time, you showed me how strong you were.â
âThen maybe they just need time.â You told him. âTime to see my strength. Right?â You gave him a soft expression to reassure him.
Eobard let out another sigh. He seemed to understand what you were getting out. Yes. Maybe thatâs what they needed? Time. Time to get to know you. To see your potential the same way that they did. âI guess, Kiddo.â Eobard replied. âBut as much as Iâd like them to, theyâre very arrogant. Itâs hard to get them to agree with anything I say.â
You couldnât help but let out a soft laugh. âArrogant? Geez, that totally doesnât remind me of someone I know.â
Eobard gave you a quizzical look. âOh really?â
You shrugged your shoulder lightly. Now seeming to be more comfortable now that it was just you and him. âHeâs not that bad though. In fact, heâs a pretty good teacher.â This time, your smile was more genuine. Eobard couldnât help but manage a faint, but also genuine smile. He always appreciated your compliments. They boosted his ego.
Eobard chuckled. âWell Iâm glad you think so.â He walked over to you. You never broke his gaze.
âTry not to stress yourself out too much, okay?â You plead. You knew how Eobard got when he was stressed out and angry. Eobard huffed, stopping within arms length of you. âY/NâŚâ He began. He placed his hands on the sides of your arms, looking down at you. âYou should know my associates arenât the mostâŚâ
âUnderstandable?â You added.
Eobard nodded. He tilted his head slightly. His bright blue eyes focused on you. âYes. Thatâs a good way of putting it.â
âEobard, itâs okay.â You reassured. âIâm not a little kid that needs to be hovered over. I can handle myself. I understand that my trust must be earned. And Iâll do whatever I can to ensure it is.â You wanted him to know that you would put all of your effort into this mission. âYou should know better than anyone that I donât give up so easily.â
Eobard knew that you had the heart of a fighter. Which is why he couldnât think of anyone else better to help aid him in this mission. But⌠Sometimes, that did worry him. Often, he worried that your courage and bravery would be what got you hurt. Or worse, killed. But of course, he could never gather the courage himself to tell you that. Instead, he found subtle and simple ways to express his worries, hoping that one day you might notice. âOf course, I know that Y/N. But I just worry my associates might not hesitate if they see you arenât fit for this.â Eobard told you. âI just want you to be careful around them. Okay?â His expression softened.
âOf course.â You nodded.
âBut I donât want you to feel frightened by them or intimated for that matter.â Eobard told you. Because he wouldnât dare let them harm you. âI assure you, I will ensure they treat you kindly.â He reassured you.
You smiled softly. There was something about Eobard that made you feel safe. And even though he was a very powerful speedster, he also possessed a very gentle side to him. That was something you appreciated and admired about him. And over the years, you had caught on to how protective Eobard had become of you. Eobard treated you much like a daughter. He cared deeply for you. And you would do everything in your power to make sure that you wouldnât disappoint him.
âOh donât worry, Damien and Malcolm donât frighten me.â You remarked. In fact, there wasnât much that could scare you.
Eobard chuckled. âDidnât think they would.â
âIâm tougher than I look.â You smirked.
Suddenly, Eobardâs watch pinged, and he looked down at he. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he looked up at you. âSorry Y/N, but I must be going. Itâs urgent.â You looked at him, and nodded. Understanding that he had to go, and to let him know it was okay. âBut no worries, Iâll be back before you know it.â He gently gave your shoulder a nudge, before disappearing in a flash of red lighting.
~~
Time seemed to pass entirelyâŚoddly in The Vanishing Point. In fact, you had been unable to determine how long it had been since Eobard had left to attend his business. Sitting on a table, you swing your legs back and forth. As a Speedster, you were used to being able to run about wherever you wanted, and however long you wanted. So you werenât used to sitting around and doing nothing. Though, you supposed you shouldnât take the peace for granted. It was nice to have a moment where your mind wasnât racing with thoughts and feelings. Although, the more that you sat there. The more you felt like things just weren't quite right. It was a bad feeling. While yes being in The Vanishing Point all alone was very creepy, this feeling was completely separate from that. Hopping off of the table, you felt compelled to explore your surroundings. To become more familiar with them.
It was unclear, when Eobard would return from his duties. So might as well make the most of your time, right?
As you were exploring the Vanishing Point, you had stumbled upon a room. A darkened one. As you entered the room, your footsteps had made an echoing noise.
âHello?! Whoâs there?â A frantic voice called.
You stopped in your tracks. The voice, was completely unfamiliar to you. It wasnât Eobard, nor was it Damien or Malcolm. It was a man, that was for sure. âHello?â You called out.
You stepped forwards, and as you had gotten farther into the room, your eyes laid on a man. The voice you heard.
Sitting in the middle of the room, tied to a chair, was a man. Your eyes grew. What the hell?
âPlease. Please, whoever you are. Donât-Donât come near me!â He shouted. You slowly, and cautiously walked over to the man. Who was this man? Why was he here? Tied up. It was clear that the man was extremely frightened. So you had to do your best to try and call him down.
âHey-itâsâŚitâs okay.â You stopped in front of him. âI wonât hurt you.â
The man looked you up and down. âYouâŚyouâre just a kid.â He muttered. He shakes his head. âPlease. Please. Help me. Let me out of here.â
His eyes. You could see the fear and panic in them. This man was terrified for his life. He seemed so desperate to escape. You swallowed. At first, you were hesitant. Why was this man even here in the first place? Was he dangerous? You didnât know.
âI-â You began. âWho are you? What happened?â
âMy name is Phil. Iâm-Iâm a director. I was kidnapped by these two crazy dudes!â The man tried to explain. âPlease. Please, you gotta let me out man. You have to free me and get me out of here. I think theyâre going to torture me or even kill me.â
Torture? Kill?
Eobard didnât have any part in this did he? Oh you hoped he didnât.
âWho? Who kidnapped you?â You asked.
âThese two dudes. They had these weird guns.â Phil replied. âKept talking about some Sphere. I donât know about any Sphere.â He told you.
The Sphere of Destiny?
Was he talking about Malcom and Damien? They kidnapped this man? Why? What did he have to do with any of this. You let out a shaky breath. âYou mean, The Sphere of Destiny? Is that what they were asking about?â
Phil nodded. âYes yes. They kept saying Iâm some guy named Rip Hunter. Man. Heâs a character from my movie!â
Rip Hunter?
Rip Hunter was a Time-Master, from the 22nd century.
âRip Hunter?â You quizzed. You took a second glance at him. Really getting a good look at him. His hair and beard were longer. His clothes seemed normal, but the way he spoke. Completely opposite of someone from London. But it was him. It was definitely him. This was Rip Hunter. âWhat I donât understand. What happened to you?â
âWhat?â Rip quizzed. He then shakes his head. âNo no. You donât understand. I am NOT Rip Hunter. I am Phil!â He looked at you, his eyes grew. âWait. Wait. Is this some sort of test. Oh god. Are you with them?â He seemed to panic.
âYes.â You answered. âWait-no I mean⌠Yes. Iâm with them. ButâŚâ But you didnât know about this. âBut I had no idea about this.â
âLook, can you just please let me go?â Rip plead. âJust let me go, and Iâll be on my way. I swear. I wonât press charges.â
Your expression softened. This wasnât supposed to be Rip Hunter. But something wasnât right. It was like he didnât even remember who he was. Regardless, you could never deny someone asking for help. âOkay okay. Calm down? Iâll let you out.â You reached down, to untie his bonds.
Rip nodded his head and let out sigh of relief. âThank you. Thank you.â
Your mind began to race. Â
Why would they kidnap Rip Hunter?Â
Why can he not remember who he is? Â
Well, it seemed that your instincts were right. That things had felt very off. You continued to untie Ripâs bonds, when suddenly you felt a burning sensation in your hands. âOW.â You yelped, letting go of the rope and stepping backwards. What was that? Â
Ripâs eyes grew wide. âWhat are you doing?â He shakes his head. âWhy did you stop? Keep going! You have got to get me out.â Â
âIâm afraid she wonât be doing that.â A grim voice came from behind.Â
Your head turned, and you looked over to see Damien Darhk. The older gentleman gave a smug smirk, as he began to walk in your direction. You held your hand, which still had that burning sensation. âYou...â Â
âIt seems the little bird has flown too far away from its nest.â Damien said. Though, he would narrow his eyes at you. âNow, what are you doing snooping around in places you shouldn't?âÂ
You shake your head. âWhy does Eobard have Rip Hunter locked up here?â Â
Damien Darhk simply shrugged his shoulders. âCaptain Hunter, is here because he has information regarding on the whereabouts of the rest of the Sphere of Destiny.â He took a step towards you. Â
âThat doesnât answer my question.â You stared. âWhy is he being kept a prisoner?â Â
âWell you see Y/N, this is what we like to call an interrogation. Iâm sure youâre familiar with the concept of good cop, and bad cop.â He replied. âCaptain Hunter has been keeping this said information from us, and this is the only way to get him to cooperate.â Â
âBy torturing him?â You scoffed. Â
âTorture is...a last resort.â Damien told you. Â
âWhat about...what about the fact he doesn't remember who he is?â You knew that Damien Darhk and Malcolm Meryln couldnât be good people, and this seemed to prove that theory. Kidnapping. Torture. These were the ways of villain's. âWhat did you do to him?â Â
âSee thatâs the thing.â Damien chuckled. âCaptain Hunterâs memory loss was entirely his doing. His sad attempt of keeping the Sphereâs whereabouts from us.â Â
âI...I donât understand...â You looked away. Â
âIf youâre so eager to ask so many questions, then you may want to start with seeking out your mentor.â Damien said. You looked back up at him. Â
âEobard?â You quizzed. Â
Damien nodded his head. âEobard is the head of this operation.â Â
So this was Eobardâs idea? To kidnap and torture Rip Hunter? You swallowed. That idea made you feel a pit in your stomach. Why? Why would Eobard ever want to do something so awful?
âSo this is his idea?â You asked.
âMostly, yes.â Damien told you. âMalcolm and I were just pulled along the way.â
âHey! Hey! Iâm still here!â Rip shouted. He looked between the two of you. âLook man I donât know what the hell is going on here, but let me go!â
Damien Darhk looked to Rip Hunter, and stared daggers into his gaze. âItâs incredibly rude of you to interrupt our conversation.â He then looked back at you. Damien could tell that this had all come to a shock to you. That you hadnât expected it. Which made sense to him. He reckoned Eobard would keep his wicked ways from his underling. âLook⌠I can tell this is all a shock to you. May I suggest, maybe confronting Eobard about it?â
âConfront him?â You shake your head. Would he even open up to you, or would he deny it?
âYes. Because Iâm sure if you pushed it enough, he would have choice but to open up to you.â Damien Darhk walked over to where Rip was sitting. âNow, if youâll excuse me, I have some interrogating to do.â
It was more of a demand, then a suggest.
So, you gave Damien Darhk a nod, before flashing off in search of Eobard.
~~
With your mind racing with thoughts, you continued throughout the Vanishing Point. This didnât seem like it should be a reality. And it certainly didnât make any sense! Why would Eobard want to keep something like this from you? Why would he kidnap Rip Hunter? As you entered the man area, you gaze landed on that of Eobard Thawne. The older speedster was sitting at a computer, and appeared to be doing some sort of work. But of course at the sound of the echoing footsteps, his head turned. To look at you as you had entered the room. A smile graced his features. âHello, Y/N.â He greeted. He let out a sigh, before standing up from the computer. âI told you I wouldnât back, didnât I?â He gave a little smirk. Eobard walked out from behind from the desk.
You stopped halfway towards him.
âYeahâŚyou did.â You replied.
Eobard narrowed his eyes. âIs everything alright?â
At first, you were hesitant to answer. You knew you could pretend like things were fine. But what would be the point? So Eobard could keep being so secretive? So, instead you chose to be straightforward and blunt. âI donât know⌠Pretty shocked by the fact that a version of Rip Hunter who doesnât know who he is, is locked up in the other room.â
This caught Eobard completely off guard. He let out a chuckle. âIâm sorry?â
You crossed your arms over your chest, and huffed. âWhen you asked me to help you find the Sphere of Destiny, I didnât think it would involve kidnapping and torture.â
Eobard went silent for a moment. It seemed he was debating if he even wanted to reply. But after a moment, he lets out a sigh. âCaptain Hunter is not in his right mind right now. He has no true idea of his identity. I merely pushed Damien and Malcolm to ensure that Mr.Hunter wouldnât become a danger to himself or others.â
That was his excuse?
âI get that butâŚâ You shake your head. âDamien said he rid himself of his memories to keep you all from discovering where the Sphere of Destiny was.â You swallowed.
âYes, he did.â Eobard nodded.
âBut that implies he knows something I donât.â You replied. It suggested that allowing Eobard and his associates to have the Sphere of Destiny in their possession, was dangerous. That it couldnât be. Why? Why would it be dangerous?
They wanted to retrieve the Sphere so it could become a treasured artifact. How was that dangerous l?
Eobard shrugged his shoulders. âMr.Hunter is a Time-Master. Well, more a former one anyways. Iâm sure he thought that keeping anyone from knowing where the Sphere was, was the best way to protect history.â
âEobard..â Your voice became lower.
Eobard raised an eyebrow. âY/N, please. If you are worried about Captain Hunterâs well-being, then I have no problem ensuring Mr.Darhk, and Mr.Meryln use moreâŚethical ways of persuading him.â
âThatâs not just it, Eobard.â You told him.
Not only, did you feel that Eobard was keeping more than one just secret from you butâŚbut you couldnât quite explain his behavior. One day, you and Eobard were in the lab. He was going on about how ecstatic he was to present himself to the world. To show them that he too could be a hero, just as the man and hero he admired. The Flash. The next, Eobard Thawne was gone. He had left a note to you, saying he had something important to tend to. That he would be: Back in a Flash. But⌠But he was gone, for an entire year. No calls. No texts. Nothing. Where did he go in all of that time? What was he doing? You were so desperate to know now.
A frown now graced Eobardâs features. âThen what is it?â He placed a hand on your shoulder. âYou can tell me anything, you know that.â
Letting out a shaky breath, you straightened your posture. âEobard, you left. You left and you were gone for an entire year.â
Eobard looked down at you. âYeahâŚYeah I was.â
âAn entire year.â You repeated. But this time, hurt was in your voice. âAll you left me was a note. No calls or texts. No indication of where you were or why you were gone for so long.â
Eobard sighed. He could tell by that look in your eyes, that this was going to be a very long and complicated conversation. One that you werenât going to let go of so easily. He knew you well enough to know that.
âI know andâŚâ He sighed. âIâm sorry.â
You bite the inside of your cheek. Eobard Thawne was your mentor. Your friend. In a way, he was like a father to you, and he just up and leaves you?
âSorry?â You scoffed. âIs that all you can sayâŚâ
Eobard Thawne knew that this conversation would be a very complicated one. One that he would have to help her understand. He knew in his heart, he couldnât lie to her. He had to tell her the truth. The only issue with that, was that Eobard knew what that truth would do to her. Y/N looked up to him. She admired him. The same way he once admired The Flash. He saw the good parts of him. Completely unaware of the bad parts. The parts that were merciless and ruthless. He didnât really want to have this conversation with her. But he knew that she wouldnât stop pushing, until he did eventually her the truth.
Eobard sighed. âNo of course not I-â He let go of her shoulder. âI justâŚdonât know where to start with this.â
âMaybe with where you went?â You quizzed. You crossed your arms over your chest. What kind of business had been so important he had to abandon her?
âRight.â He cleared his throat.
You knew that Eobard had tended to be secretive with her about things. And in the past, you didnât ever want to push him about them. But this time, this time you had to. âWhat couldâve been so important that you couldnât tell me?â You shake your head.
Eobard tensed. But he knew he had to tell her. âOkay okay.â He sighed. âI did leave you, yes. But, I left with the intention of coming back. I never meant to leave you hanging. Iâm sorry I couldnât contact you.â
âCouldnât, or wouldnât?â You remarked.
âI wanted to contact you.â Eobard told you. âI promise, I did. But donât things happened. And for months I left unable to reach you.â
âWhere were you, Eo?â You uncrossed your arms. All of that time, you had felt so alone. While yeah, you still had your family and friends. But you and Eobard had always shared a profound bond.
âIâŚI traveled through time.â Eobard huffed.
Your eyes grew wide. He traveled through time? Why? Where did he go? âWhat? Why? Where did you travel to?â
âThe year 2000.â Eobard looked down. âI uh, I went there to umâŚto see The Flash.â
The Flash? You tried to search your mind for answers. You knew that Eobard Thawne had admired The Flash. And perhaps yes, you did too. The Flash was a great hero, that would he remembered for centuries.
âThe Flash?â You replied. âI donât understand.â You shake your head. âWhy would travel so far just to see The Flash? And if Iâm not mistaken, thatâs years before The Flash even came to be. He wouldâve been young then.â
Eobard nodded. That you had been right about. Barry Allen, had just been a child. 11 years old. âYes, that you are right about.â
âEobard, you arenât making sense!â You protested. What sense did it make that Eobard would travel all the way through time, to see The Flash before he came to be?
Eobard nodded. âI know. But⌠It will make sense.â He let out another sigh. âI didnât just travel back in time to visit The Flash. IâŚâ He closed his eyes for a moment. âI traveled back in time to kill him.â
Kill him? What?
Now he really wasnât making any sense! This was absurd! Now, you were believing that he was starting to make things up.
âKill him?â You scoffed. âOkay. Eobard, thatâs not funny. Thatâs absurd. Why canât you just tell me the truth? Instead of making up stories!â
âItâs not a story.â Eobard shakes his head. He looked back up to you.
âIt has to be.â You remarked. Right? The Flash was his idol. The man who inspired him to even give himself super-speed in the first place. What sense did it make that he would want to kill his hero?
âIt isnât, Iâm afraid.â Eobard said.
You looked at Eobard. And suddenly, you saw no sign of deception. Like he was actually being truthful.
âSo you traveled back in time in kill the same man you idolize?â You shake your head. âNo. No Eobard, stop. This isâŚthis is crazy. Why would you want to kill The Flash? Heâs your idol. Heâs the very reason you even gave yourself super-speed in the first place! Youâre not making sense!âTears welled in your eyes. âEobard, please. Just tell me the truth. Okay? IâŚI donât get mad. I promise. Just tell me the truth.â You plead.
Eobard placed his hands on your shoulders. âI am telling you the truth butâŚâ He breathed out. âBut there is more to it. Youâre right. The Flash is the very reason I gave myself super-speed. I idolized him. Iâve spent my whole life wanting to be like him. And when I finally did become like him, fast, wellâŚI wanted to not just be like The Flash.â He sighed. âI wanted to be The Flash.â You tensed up, but kept your gaze on him. âAnd I was so close, Y/N. So close to presenting myself to the world. Showing them that I could be the hero that they needed. I could be The Flash.â His gaze darted downwards. âThen The Flash showed up. And what did he do? Stole my glory. Stole my crowd.â He clenched his jaw. âThenâŚthen he saved the crowd. The crowd I was meant to impress. He stole everything from me.â
You listened to him. âSo, he did his job? WhatâŚwhy want to kill him?â
Eobard looked back up. âThe Flash took everything from me, Y/N. He took my chance of being a hero. Of being him. And to make matters worse, I learned⌠I learned that not only wouldnât I never be The Flash, but I would destined to be his enemy.â
His enemy? âEnemy?â Eobard was suggesting that he was meant to be some sort of villain. No. No they couldnât be! Eobard wasnât a villain! He was your friend. Your mentor. âWhat? Eobard, thatâs insane. Youâre notâŚyouâre not a bad guyâŚâ
âOh Y/NâŚâ Eobard kept his hands on your shoulders. âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry for misleading about the kind of man I amâŚâ
âWhat? NoâŚIâŚI donât understandâŚâ You stared
âI am not a hero, like The Flash. I am not full of light and love. But I am the complete opposite, I am the reverse of everything he is.â Eobard told you. âI am full of darkness and rage. And I wanted to kill The Flash, because I hate him for what he did. I hate him, so much, Y/N. Iâve spent my entire life devoted to ruining his. I even went as far as killing his mother just to make him suffer.â
You felt your stomach drop. Suddenly, everything had chanted for you.
The man who had taught you everything you knew about your speed, wasnât a hero. He was a villain. The very thing you had been training to stop.
Eobard Thawne was a murderer. A super-villain.
Did that mean that everything he had ever taught you meant nothing now?
Does it mean everything has been a whole lie this entire time? Did he even care about you? You didnât know.
Everything was a lie.
Everything you thought, and knew about Eobard was all a lie.
âNo. No. No.â You shake your head. âNo.â You felt as if your heart was being tucked at it. A tear slipped down your cheek.
âY/N-â Eobard began.
Feeling your breaths becoming more shaky, you stepped back, forcing Eobard to let go of your shoulders. âNo! Stay away!â You gritted your teeth. âStay away from me!â
Eobard Thawne frowned. He could see. The heartbreak and sadness, the feeling of betrayal in your eyes. It made him feel a pang of hurt in his chest. He never meant for this. He never meant to lie to you. He never wanted to.
Eobard had just spent so much time with her, that it made it hard for him to want to tell you.
He wanted you to be happy.
He wanted you to trust him, and to admire him the way you did. Not be afraid of him. Or hate him.
âY/N, I am sorry for lying to you.â Eobard began. âI never meant to. I never wanted to. Itâs justâŚâ He shakes his head. âI didnât want to hurt you or scare you. I wanted you to be happy.â
âYouâre a monster! And a liar!â You shouted. You felt the tears escaping your eyes and down your cheeks.
You trusted him.
You trusted him.
Eobard Thawne was your mentor. Your friend. Someone you looked up to you and believed in. Someone that you found yourself telling things that you didnât tell others.
And he lied to you. Deceived you.
âYou abandoned me!â You felt this overwhelming feeling of anger and rage. âYou lied to me! And now you only brought me here to make me do something awful, didnât you?â
âNo. No of course not.â Eobard reassured. âI would never make you do anything bad.â
You scoffed. âWhy should I listen to you?â After all, you should just run. Run away, and never turn your back. Because thatâs how you were feeling. You never wanted to see him again. You never wanted to speak to him again.
âBecause I only want whatâs best for you.â Eobard told you.
âI only want whatâs best for you.â
Words you had heard time and time again from him. Before, you always thought it was sweet that he was looking out for you. But how, they meant nothing.
Nothing.
âIf that were true, you would have never brought yourself into my life!â You exclaimed. âYou would have stayed away.â
Eobard Thawne expected this. He knew that you would hate him. Even be afraid of him for lying to you. He knew that since he had first met you.
Itâs why he tried to cherish every moment he had with you.
Because he knew the day would come where he may never see you again.
âY/N, I only wanted to help you.â Eobard said. When he first met you, you were a young speedster who hardly understood your powers. Spiraling out of control all of the time. Then one day, you met him. And you promised to teach you how to harness your abilities. Train you, help you reach your full potential.
And you did.
And he had never felt more proud knowing he was the one who helped you. He was the one who shaped you into the hero you were.
You had watched you grow in so many ways. And over time, he began feeling an overwhelming need to protect you. Which, wasnât in his nature. To want to care for someone besides himself. But you⌠You had reached to his humanity. The part of him who could feel, and care.
EvenâŚlove.
You showed him what it was like to be a father. To have someone to care for.
Eobard knew he could never have a family of his own. Not with the things he had done, and the person he was. So, it meant a lot for him to get this chance with you.
âYou lied to me! You talk of helping me, but all youâve done is hurt me.â You croaked. âYou took my trust! You betrayed me! Youâre right. You are the villain.â You shake your head. âYou will never be The Flash. You will always be the reverse.â
He knew that. He would always be the Flashes greatest enemy. But he never wanted him to become yours.
âAnd I know that.â Eobard said. He took a step towards you. âIâve always know The Flash and I would be rivals. And I finally accepted it. Embraced it. But Y/N, I never wanted to be your enemy. I only wanted to be your teacher. Your friend.â
You began to hyperventilate. âNo. No. You shut up! You shut up! I hate you! Do you hear me? I hate you!â
Those words reached his heart. Because he felt it ache.
âI knowâŚâ He nodded. âI knowâŚâ
âWeâre done.â You told him. Done with everything. The lessons. The training. The friendship. Over. There was nothing he could say or do to fix this. Nothing. âDo you hear me? Iâm going to leave and I never want to see you again.â
Eobard gave a sad nod. He could understand that. And what was he supposed to do? Argue. Because he knew it wasnât a fight he would win.
But you knew what he could do?
Finally tell you how he felt. How you mattered to him.
âAnd I wonât argue with you.â Eobard replied. You had every right to want to him and he knew that. âIâm not going to fight you. Iâm not going to hurt. YouâŚ.you can goâŚandâŚ.and you never have to see me again.â He sighed, but tried to gather his words. âBut Y/N, if youâre going to go then wellâŚI suppose I should tell you, shouldnât I?â
âTell me what?â You hissed.
âY/N⌠I care about you.â He told you. âI always have. Even if you may hate me or be afraid of me, you need to know that. I have always cared for you in many ways. You have always mattered to me.â
What was this?
More lies? More deception? In your heart, you knew you should go. Leave him behind.
But instead, you stayed. Not knowing why you wanted to listen.
âFrom the beginning I have always felt the responsibility to look after you, and protect you.â Eobard confessed. âAndâŚand I just never expected this.â He huffed. âI never expected the opportunity to be proud of someone. To see someone grow in so many ways and become successful.â
What?
âWhy are you telling me this, huh?â You stared at him. Rage in your eyes.
âBecause if youâre going to go, you need to know that. That I am proud of how far you have come. How much you have grown.â Eobard slowly inched closer to. He placed his hands on the sides of your arms. Though, instead of flinching, you froze. Unable to bring yourself to move. âI am proud of you, Y/N. AndâŚâ He looked down at you. âYou have given me the chance to know what it feels like to be a father. To love someone more than you can ever imagine. To raise someone knowing theyâll be better then you ever were and being okay with that.â
No. No.
You couldnât be hearing this, right. This had to be a lie, right?
Was Eobard really saying he loved you like a daughter?
âN-No. P-Please. J-Just-G-Go.â You plead. âPlease.â You felt your chest pounding and your heart aching.
âIf you want me to go, then I will go.â Eobard said. âI care about you enough to want you to be happy. And if forgetting about me is what will make you happy. Then okay.â He nodded. âI wonât get in the way of your happiness.â
âStop pretending t-to care.â
âI was never pretending.â Eobard said. Though, his tone. It had becomeâŚsofter. He raised his hand, brushing a strand of hair out of your face.
Your eyes grew wide.
What was he doing? âWhat-â
âGoodbye, kid.â He said. A hint of sadness in his voice. And⌠It didnât sound fake. It sounded, genuine. âI know you will be everything I wanted you to be. And you will be happy. Remember that.â He leaned forward, and gave your forehead a gentle kiss. Before pulling away from you.
In that moment, you felt like everything around you was spinning. And you seemed to make a realization.
He cared.
He caredâŚ
Even through all of his lies and deception, he did care about you.
Eobard went to turn away, perhaps to leave as you had wanted him to. But, for some reason, you didnât want him to leave you. Not again.
âWait!â
Eobard looked to you, staring. Wondering what you could have possibly wanted. He figured you might leave now. To get as far away from him.
But in fact, it became quite the opposite.
âPlease donât leave me again.â You croaked. You didnât why. Why you so desperately wanted him to stay. You should hate him. Fear him.
But nowâŚyou felt those emotions becoming buried deep inside of you.
And you only felt the need to be protected.
Eobard narrowed his eyes. YouâŚyou wanted him to stay?
If surely seemed like an illusion.
But from the way you werenât running away, it had to be true hadnât it? You wanted him to stay.
In a flash of lighting, you ran to him. Hugging him. So tightly, that you had almost knocked him over. But he was strong and could hold back.
Eobard, at first paused.
He was taken back by this.
Eobard looked down to you. The way you were clinging to him like he was the only thing that could keep you safe. It was familiar yet unfamiliar.
âS-Stay. P-Please.â You cried.
Eobard slowly felt himself sink into the hug. Of course he would stay. He wouldnât ever think of abandoning you again. âYes.â He whispered. âI promise, I wonât leave you this time.â
He meant that.
He would stay. He wouldnât abandon you.
While he knew he wouldnât give up on his quest to retrieve The Sphere of Destiny, there was one thing he knew for certain.
Right all, all he wanted to stay here with you. His friend. His student.
His daughter.

Imagine: Being Like Bucks Little Sister who interns at the 118 and you are stressed out so you drop by his place to talk and you two end up playing board games together.
Being the youngest working member of the 118, certainly wasnât the easiest task. With attending community college, and interning, sometimes it was a lot for you to take at one time. Recently, you had been extremely stressed out. Not just with all of your school work, but with the many tasks that Captain Bobby Nash had been given you recently. So, you decided to somewhere to distress and someone reliable to talk to. So where do you go? Well, you decided to seek on one of the people at the 118 you had always felt the closest with. Evan Buckley. Buck was practically like an older brother to you, as he was always looking out for you. Eddie too of course. But Buck always knew how to kick back and relax even in the event of chaos.
Letting out a sigh, you placed down your glass of water on the table. âThank you for letting me stay the night, Buck. I really needed to get away from everything.â
Buck of course gave you a kind smile, as he placed a stack of board games down on the table in front of the both of you. âNo need to thank me, Y/N. Iâm your friend, friends help each other out. Besides, I know what itâs like to be young and have a lot of responsibilities on your shoulders.â
âYeah, tell me about it.â You huffed. âWith all of the school work I have do, and the tasks I have to do at the station, itâs nice to just have some peace.â
âOh believe me, I get.â Buck told you.
You looked down at the stack of board games. âWhat are all of these for?â You quizzed.
âWell, I though we could play some board games. You know, something fun but not too competitive. Help get our minds off all of the stressful stuff.â Buck gave you a smile. âWhat do you say?â
You of course smiled back. âSounds like a plan.â

Imagine: Seeing Thawne who doesnât remember who he is.
Both your heart and your mind were racing. This was completely unexpected and hard to believe. That there was a version of Eobard Thawne, who wasnât a killer. Who wasnât consumed by his anger and hate for Barry Allen. See, he had lost of his memory. While you and Barry both had absolutely no idea how this had came to be, you did your best to remain strong. Barry Allen stood directly beside you. Meena was in her office, grabbing some things. Eobard Thawne looked between the both of you. He was still trying to make sense of things, especially since Barry had become so hostile and angry with him. But he looked to you. It was that look in your eyes. You lookedâŚnot angry. Not afraid. But your gaze was full of almost a hopefulness and happiness. It was odd. Barry looked over at you, his brow furrowing. âY/N, are you okay?â He asked. âWhat is it?â
âNothing itâs just-â You swallowed. âItâs strange. Seeing him like this. So happy. SoâŚordinary.âYou shake your head. âItâs almostâŚnice.â
Eobard narrowed his eyes. âIâm sorry?â
âNice?â Barry looked to you. âHow is it nice? He doesnât remember who he is. He doesnât remember what he is or what heâs done.â
âThatâs it exactly.â You remarked. âHe doesnât remember. He doesnât remember how much he hates you. ButâŚâ You looked over to Thawne. He doesnât remember you. Who you are. âHe doesnât remember me. He doesnât remember adopting me. Raising me. Everything he took from me.â
Thawne looked between the both of you. His eyes grew at your words. âIâm sorryâŚadopted you? Raised you? Who are you?â
You pressed your lips together, trying to gather the right words. âYou may not remember who I am. But know this. I was once someone you cared deeply for. Someone you loved and protected. And you need to know, that even though you were the villain, you saved me in so many ways and helped me become who I am.â
Eobard Thawne looked to you. And he could have sworn your words were genuine. True. And for some odd reason he felt himself believing youâŚ
He feltâŚconnected to you.

Imagine: Reuniting with your older brother, Hartley.
Letting out a deep breath, you entered one of the old Warehouses that your parents had owned, now abandoned. This had to be it. Where your older brother Hartley Rathaway mustâve been hiding out. Likely to stay hidden, from all of the trouble that he had been causing recently. It had been months since you had your brother. You missed him, dearly. Even though Hartley was known for having a challenging personality, Hartley loved and adored you. Even if he didnât always show that part of him around others. Hartley loved you. And you loved him. He had always protected you. Especially, when your partners always bickered with you about when it came to you wanting to make your own decisions. Your own choices.
You looked around, but then noticing the chair and various boxes surrounding it. Yep. He was here.
âYouâve come to the wrong place!â A familiar voice exclaimed. Suddenly, Hartley came out of nowhere. His sonic gauntlets raised, ready to strike. But whne his gaze met you, he paused. âY\N?â
âHey, Hartley.â You spoke, softly. âItâs me.â
Hartley lowered his gauntlets, staring at you. Why were you here? More importantly how did you find him? âY/N⌠What the hell are you doing here?â He shakes his head. âHow did you find me?â
You pressed your lips together. Finding him, that was the easy part. Hartley was just really predicable. But also, where else was he going to hide out?
âI wanted to see you.â You told him.
âSee me?â Hartley raised an eyebrow. âWhy? I thought you would be out and about trying to forget about the shame Iâve brought to this family.â
âHartley no I-â You swallowed. âI donât hate you. Iâm not going to disown you. Youâre my brother andâŚand I miss you. And I feel so alone without you.â
Hartley looked into your gaze. And he saw⌠He saw no signs of deception. Only the truth. With pulled at his heart. You really did miss him. He looked down. If he was being honest, he did miss you too. He missed having his little sister around to love and to protect. Even if you werenât a little kid anymore, he still felt this responsibility to look after you.
âY/N, Iâm sorry you feel that way.â Hartley looked back up at you. âLook⌠Maybe⌠Maybe you can stay here for awhile? We canâŚcatch up.â He suggested.
You managed a faint smile. âYeah⌠That⌠Sounds amazingâŚâ

Imagine: Being a Young Smuggler Alongside Joel and Tess, and Joel Scolding You When You Come Home After Curfew.
Day in, and day out always seemed the same. Get up, go to work, get your rations and go home. In a world full of chaos and despair, sometimes it was hard to motive yourself to keep going. Especially in the Quarantine Zone. But in the end, you managed. Besides, when you happened to be a smuggler, there was too much on your shoulders to give up. Letting out a deep sigh, you placed your hand on the door to the apartment you shared with Tess and Joel. It was late. Really late. Past curfew. You were lucky you hadnât been shot or arrested by FEDRA. But you were smart and resilient for you age. âJoel is going to kill me.â Was your only thought. But you had to be a young adult and face him. So you turned the knob and entered the room. When the door closed behind you, you turned around. Standing in the darkened room, was Joel. His hands on his hips, staring at you as you entered. Likely waiting this whole time.
âJoel.â You spoke, giving a nod of your head. You take off your jacket and backpack. Throwing them onto a nearby table.
âWhere the hell have you been, young lady?â Joel remarked. His eyes staring bullets. From his tone, he wasnât happy. Pissed, even. Which, already wasnât a good sign for you. âDo you have any idea what time it is? Itâs past curfew. Way past curfew. Youâre lucky you havenât been shot. Or arrested.â
You pressed your lips together, and swallowed. You would try your best to counter. âYes, Iâm aware of what time it is. But I got caught up in work. Okay? No big deal.â
Joel scoffed. âNo big deal?â
âYeahâŚâ You shrugged your shoulders. âI just got caught up in my work. But you canât be pissed.â You pulled a stack of ration cards out of your pocket. âGot a lot of these. Tess will be happy to see these.â
âI donât care about what Tess will think.â Joel took a step towards you. He knew this was about more than just work. He wasnât a fool, after all. And with that stack of ration cards, he knew something was up. It was two times more than the usual pay. âWhere the hell did you get all of those ration cards?â
âI told you, work.â You answered.
âBullshit.â Joel snapped. âThatâs two times more than they pay. Do you think Iâm that stupid? Where were you? What did you do to get those ration cards?â
Your eyes darted down. Okay, maybe there had been more to it. But why would Joel care so much? You could handle yourself. âIt doesnât matter.â
âOh, it doesnât?â Joel quizzed. Joel knew better than that. You were hiding something and he would get you spill. Sooner or later. âDonât play games with me, Y/N.â
You swallowed, looking back up at him. âLook, Iâm tired okay? Can I just sleep and you can bitch at me in the morning?â With that, you walked off and headed towards your bedroom.
Leaving Joel with mixed emotionsâŚ

Imagine: Convincing The Doctor to let you visit Missy in the vault.
The Doctor (at least in this regeneration), wasnât always so easily convinced sometimes. Often, there were times where he was too stubborn for his own good. So most of the time, you kept certain things to yourself. Not breathing a word because you always knew what the answer would be. But this time, even though you knew there would be a battle, you werenât going to lose so easily. Here you were standing before The Doctor, putting your best face on. You swallowed. Trying to conjure your words. Today, you would ask him to visit someone. Someone who was dangerous, yet very dear to you. Missy. The Masterâs female Incarnation. Missy, was currently being imprisoned in a vault under St. Lukeâs University, in Bristol. She spent every waking moment there. Alone. Suffering.
So you wanted to visit her. To talk to her. To give her some sort of comfort in the form of a familiar face.
âDoctorâŚâ You began.
The Doctor, who was playing with buttons on the TARDIS console, looked over to you. At first, he was quiet. Studying you. Like he knew the familiar tone and look on your face. But finally, he spoke up. âYes, Y/N, what is it? I can see youâre desperate to ask me something.â
âYou would be correct.â You nodded. âThere was something that I wanted to ask you.â You bite down on your lower lip.
âWhat is it then?â The Doctor waved a hand. âBecause we donât have all day here. Iâm very busy withâŚthings.â He added. But really was making excuses.
âI want to see Missy.â You blurted out.
The Doctorâs eyes grew wide, but not wide enough. He wasnât shocked. Almost like he had expected it. The Doctor took a step towards you, and away from the console. âYou want to see Missy?â He chuckled, half-heatedly. âAm I going crazy? Because it seems to me Iâm hearing things.â
âNoâŚyou arenât.â You let out a sigh. âI want to see Missy, Doctor. Visit her in the vault. Talk to her. Sheâs alone. So alone.â
âYes, and for a good reason.â The Doctor stated. âMissy is secluded to prevent her from causing anyone harm.â The Doctor shakes his head. âSheâs dangerous, Y/N. You out of anyone should know that. She canât be trusted.â
âShe can change.â You remarked to that. Because you did believe that she was capable of change. Capable of becoming a better person. No matter what anyone, even The Doctor thought. And you? You were probably one of the only people in the whole universe that Missy cared for her. That Missy trusted. You wouldnât give up on her so easily. Not when there was still hope.
The Doctor scoffed. âYou think sheâs capable of change?â
âDoctor-â You swallowed. âPlease. Please. Just let me have five minutes. Thatâs all I ask. Five minutes to talk to herâŚâ
The Doctor looked to you. He let out a sigh. He knew there was a chance he wouldnât win this argument. You wouldnât give up until he said yes. As much as he didnât want to say yes, was it really worth all of the bickering?
âFive minutes?â The Doctor quizzed.
You nodded your head. Five minutes was you had needed. You would want more time, but you thought it was best not to push your luck. âFives minutes. I swear, I wonât be a minute late.â You promised.
The Doctor met your gaze. And he could see the sincerity in your eyes. You meant it.
He let out a breath. âFine fine. Iâll take you to the university to see Missy. But this is under my terms. I stay outside of the vault the entire time.â The Doctor went over to the console and began to pressing the controls. âFive minutes, yes?â He looked to you, his expression hardened. âAnd I want you to be careful. Understand?â
You gave a faint smile and nod. âI understand.â

HeadCannon: Being A Young Time-Lord, and How The Masterâs/Missy Comfort YouâŚ
(Beware of SPOILERS for S12 for Sachas Master!)
The Master (John Simm):
The Master (at least this one) has never been the one for comforting, not even for himself but given that he cares very deeply about you, he tries to give it a try at consoling you when he sees you upset
The Master at first tries to reassure you with words, no matter how hard it might be âY/N, thereâs no need for those silly things you call tears.â
At first, his words certainly didnât work
The Master could only watch as the tears flooded down your cheeks
But then The Master felt an unfamiliar pain in his hearts, and realized that he had to try harder to comfort you
So The Master hold yours hand, even if he is unable to do any more than that, and doesnât let go until you are able to calm down, maybe even after that
Missy (Michelle Gomez):
Missy isnât the one to get sentimental or express any sort of emotion whatsoever even when sheâs alone. Most of the time she keeps any sort of feelings to herself and hides them from plain sight.
Missy has always left the comforting up to The Doctor. She believes he is much better suited for it
But there is one time, when Missy is left to comfort you
Missy tries to cheer you up with her jokes and wits, anything that could brighten up your mood âDo you want hear about that time The Doctor fell into a hole and was trapped in mud? It is quite funny.â
But not even her wits seem to work
So Missy (even though it would normally make her uncomfortable), allows you to hug her, and you cry into her shoulder
As the minutes pass, Missy finds herself slipping into her emotions as she can feel you trembling as you cry. So she tries a few comforting words. âThere there, Y/N. You must remain strong. You are a Time-Lady. Everything will be fine.â
Eventually, Missy crumbles into the hug, even running a hand through your hair. And she lets you stay that way until you feel better
The Master (Sacha Dhawan):
In his past regenerations, emotions didnât come soâŚeasily for The Master. But in this regeneration, The Master felt himself feeling emotions so much more often and intense than he ever had. Angry. Sadness. His emotions were more open than before.
Here you two were, in the temple of the Gallifrey High Council, surrounded by smoke and ash. Gallifrey was in ruins, and by The Masterâs hands
Seeing your home destroyed, not to mention the never ending fued between The Master and The Doctor was enough to break you
You had become fuled with anger and sadness that you just erupted, more so than you ever had in your travels with The Doctor
Your outburst took The Master by surprise, he never expecting something like that out of you
At first The Master didnât react, only because he suspected that his destruction of Gallifrey would have emotional effects on you. But when he saw you break down, screaming and crying, he knew he couldnât sit by and watch you be in pain
When you laid on your knees, hearts shattered in two, The Master reaches out to comfort you. Kneeling down to be at eye level with you âOh my dear, Y/NâŚâ
The Master can see the light slowly diminish from your eyes
The Master feels his hearts ache, and he knows that he must comfort you. Even if you hate him. Even if you never want to forgive him, he will still make it his priority to make you feel better
The Master embraces you in a hug, holding your in his arms and rocking your gently
With one hand, he strokes your hair soothingly as he whispers sweet nothings into your ear âShh donât cry, my dear. Everything will be alright, Iâm here Y/N. Iâm right here.â
And he even kisses your forehead, his nonverbal way of expressing his affection and care

Dhawan! Master x Teen Time-Lord Reader
Summary: After being kidnapped by The Master, you and The Doctor find yourselves stranded on Gallifrey which has been turned to ashes and smoke by The Masterâs reckless actions. Leaving you in heartbreak and devastation, youâre left to wonder why he did what he did, and is thereâs any hope left for him after always believing in his redemption. But things take a unexpected turn, when The Masters makes a unexpected ultimatum, and reveals a shocking truth to you.
Warnings: None
Gallifrey
A feeling of emptiness and hurt filled your hearts, as you sat on your knees in the middle of the room. The High Council. Surrounding you, were Cyber-Men. But not just and Cybermen. A new species of Cyber-Men, created from the bodies of the Time-Lords that had once been scattered across Gallifrey. The smell of the flames and smoke that had engulfed Gallifrey remained heightened across the planet. Gallifrey was in ruins. Destroyed by a mad man. But not just any mad man. It had been destroyed by one of their very own kind. The Master. In all of the years you had known The Master, it had never surprised you how far he had been willing to go just to hurt The Doctor. But this⌠This went far beyond just The Doctor. This affected you too. With a tear slipping your cheek, you looked up at the sound of footsteps nearing you. As you looked up, standing barely feet from where you were, was the culprit himself. The Master. He looked the Cyber-Men. âYou are dismissed.â He told them. And just like magic, they had obeyed him. Not even hesitating to leave the room.
The Master sighed, before turning his attention to you. At the sight of your tears, he knelt down to be at eye level with you. âThereâs no need for tears, my dear Y/N.â He said.
Clenching your jaw, you looked at him. Anger filled your eyes. He had went too far this time.
How could he? How could he do this to his own people? His own home?
This battle between The Doctor and The Master was never ending. A battle had forged long before you were even born.
Battle after battle, century after century.
For thousands upon thousands of years, these two had battled each other.
And yet, they still hadnât come close to defeating each other. At least not truly.
âYou destroyed Galiifrey.â You looked directly into The Masterâs eyes. âHow could you do that?â
The Master letâs out a sigh. âLittle Time-Lord, I know this discovery must be devastating for you.â He began. Taking ahold of your shoulders. âBut know this. Itâs for the greater good.â He continued. Your eyes widened in shock. Was he really telling you this?
âW-What?â You stuttered.
The Master could see it. The anger. The hurt. It was evident in your eyes. âI know youâre angry, my dear.â
He had recieved a similar reaction from The Doctor. The Doctorâs reaction was satisfying for him. It brought him joy to see her so hurt by something he had done.
But it had been different with you.
It was never his attention to hurt you. Only The Doctor. But he had known how it would affect you. So he would do his very best to console you.
âWhy?â You croaked. âWhy did you do this?â
Because you didnât understand. You didnât think you ever could. There wasnât anything that could justify this. This destruction. This death. No reasoning could make it right. Nothing could explain away what he had done.
The Master looked down. There was a deep reasoning behind it. More than just hurting The Doctor because of a silly fued. But he knew it didnât matter if he told you or not. He knew you wouldnât change your mind about it. That anger and hurt would still remain no matter what his justifications were. âI know that you must be upset. I know you must be desperate for answers. But right now, why I did doesnât matter. Whats done is done.â He looked back up.
âO-Our home is-gone.â You cried. You shake your head. Your home. Your people. Itâs entire history. All of it, gone. Destroyed.
âGaliifrey hasnât been my home in a very long time.â The Master admitted.
Is that why he did it? Because he didnât feel like it was his home anymore? So he decides to destroy it like doesnât matter? Like itâs nothing. Like it was all in vain. His actions were wrong. They were selfish. They were cruel. Deranged.
The pain inside of you had been bottled up. Eating away at you. All you could do was cry. Nothing would stop that.
âI know you donât want to hear this. I know you wonât accept this. But right now, you have to believe me when I say that this is for the better.â The Master said. Tears poured from your eyes. You had no idea what was happening. You had no idea who the Master was anymore. What he was. You just wanted to run. To get off this planet. Get away from him. Away from all of this.
But you couldnât. You were stuck here. Stuck on Gallifrey. No TARDIS. No teleportation.
And The DoctorâŚ
The Doctor was trapped in her mind. Restrained with a forcefield.
No doubt having to endure The Masterâs subconscious antagonizing her. And there wasnât anything you could do for her.
âHow is destroying an entire planet for the better?âYou croaked.
The Master looked away. âThereâs something you should know, Y/NâŚâ He went quiet for a moment, almost as if to gather his words. âWhenâŚWhen I came back to Gallifrey, I discovered something. A awful secret that was kept from us. All of us.â
A secret? What did he mean?
The Master looked back to you. âWhile snooping through the data banks, I discovered the truth about Gallifrey. About the Time-Lords, and their creation.â He shakes his head. âI⌠I couldnât believe what I saw. It didnât seem possible. But it is. Theyâve been lying through their teeth for centuries, not one person ever suspecting it. But now, I know. And I canât unknow it.â
A tear trickled down your cheek. You werenât sure if The Master was just blabbing about, or if what he said was true. Even if it is, why would he bother telling you? You spent most of your life on earth, amongst the humans. So your knowledge of your home planet was very little. Only what you had read about and what The Doctor had told you over the years of traveling with her. âWhy bother telling me to this?â You croaked. âIâŚI hardly know my own home. And now I never truly will.â She sniffled.
The Master reached down, taking your hand in his own. âYouâre right. Maybe now isnât the time to tell you. Because itâs extremely overwhelming.â
âPlease. Please just let us go.â You plead. You had to reach out to him. Get him to trust you. Because you knew things wouldnât turn out well if you and The Doctor remained here with The Master.
âLet you go?â The Master quizzed.
You nodded. âYes. Yes. JustâŚI know nothing will change how you feel about The Doctor. But⌠But if any part of you still cares about me, then youâll see letting us go is the right thing to do.â
The Master frowned. âMy dear, Iâm afraid I canât quite do that.
âWhy not?â
âBecauseâŚâ The Master tried to gather his words. âBecause if I were to let you go, off with The Doctor again, then it doesnât guarantee Iâll ever see you again.
Why did it matter to him if he got to see you? Was he worried? âWhat are you talking about?â
You didnât understand what he meant.
The Master gave a faint chuckle. âMy dear, you and I both know that traveling with The Doctor isnât the safest thing you could be doing.â
âYou donât think Iâm safe with The Doctor?â You stared. âI-I donât understand. Why does that matter? Just let us go.â
You had keep pushing. Keep insisting that he should let you and The Doctor be free. And the only way you could think to do that, was use his emotions about you against him. Guilt him into letting you and The Doctor leave.
But after what he did, to Gallifrey, to the Time-Lords, you werenât so sure that would be easy.
But if thereâs any chance that The Master might be swayed. If there was even a small chance of him giving in now, then you knew that you had to take it.
âI let you go once before, and it was one of my biggest regrets, Y/N.â The Master said, sadly. Your eyes grew wide. What? What was happening? Regret?
âW-What?â
The Master kept his hand wrapped around yours. âAll of those years ago, when I rescued you from the Time-War as an infant, I wanted to keep you with me. I wanted to⌠To raise you and care for you.â He began.
âWhat?â
âBut I knew in my hearts that you couldnât travel with me. Not yet. I knew you wouldnât be safe with me. I knew that I couldnât be selfish and put a childâs life in danger.â He went out. His words seemed, so genuine. âSo I sent you somewhere I knew youâd have a chance of being safe. Earth⌠You looked to him, not speaking a word. Just staring. âBut the moment I knew I had to let go of you, was the moment I knew I would come back for you. When you were older andâŚand when I could teach you about your life, and your home.â Still, you didnât speak. Your mind racing with thoughts.
âAnd I was. I was going to.â The Master told you. âI was going to come back for you. We were supposed to travel the universe together, Y/N. You and I.â He swallowed. âBut then The Doctor came along, and took that from us.â
Silence fell between both of you. Neither of you moving nor speaking, just for a moment. You didnât know what to say. What was this man saying? Was he lying? Was he making this whole thing up? Was he just doing it to get to her? Was this some twisted game?
You didnât know.
But⌠Something seemed to tell you that he was being genuine with his words. That there was some truth behind them.
You looked down.
You thought about everything heâd done. From taking over as Prime Minister, to trying to bring the Cybermen back to invade Earth. (The first time.) Every bad thing he had done in all of years that you and him had crossed paths.
He was a villain.
But your mind pondered to his words. About him being the one to save you. To choose to send her to Earth to protect you, instead of selfishly endangering you as an infant.
He was the very reason you were standing here in the first place. He was the reason that you were alive to travel with The Doctor.
To grow up. To become who you are today.
Could it really be possible?
Could he truly be telling the truth?
Or was this some sort of trick? An elaborate ruse to get you join his side?
You didnât know what to think of it. All you knew what The Master had done sometime so awful. So cruel it outdid everything heâd ever done.
âYouâre not making any sense.â You croaked. âWhy are you telling me all of this?â
âWhat Iâm trying to say is-â The Master looked into your eyes. And for a moment you could have sworn there was no hint of mischief. No hint of malice or deception. âI want you to come with me, Y/N. Travel with me. You and I can be united together, as a family.â
Suddenly, everything seemed to flip upside down.
Were you hearing this correctly?
Your heart began to race. Was he serious about this? He wanted you to join him?
âHow-How do I know youâre arenât lying to me?â You shake your head. âThatâs all youâve ever done. To me. To The Doctor. To everyone. YouâŚyou hurt people and you betray them all for your own well-being. You side with our enemies and try to kill us and break us. Why should I trust you? Why should I believe you now when you haven't once been honest with me since I've known you? You are a liar." You tell him. "A deceiver.â
The Master let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head. âI know⌠I know given my past, it could be difficult for you to understand what Iâm trying to say. And I get that, believe me I do.â
You scoffed.
âButâŚâ The Master began. âEven if itâs hard for you to believe, I have always cared about you.â He let out a shaky breath. âA part of meâŚa part of me has always felt connected to you.â
You stared at him. Confused.
The Master letâs go of your hand, cupping your cheeks. âLook at you, Y/NâŚâ He breathed out. âI still remember that small, and beautiful baby you were. I remember when I held you that first and last time, I remember being consumed by the drumming noise in my head. The noise that never went away. But when I held you, when I looked down at you, it was like the world became silent. It was like the noise ceased to exist. All I heard was the beating of my hearts and the sound of your tiny breaths, and the beat of your little hearts. And it was beautiful.â
You froze. You could have sworn you had seen tears on his eyes he spoke. Which, wasnât like him. To get so sentimental like that.
âYou gave me a sense of peace. A sense of serenity. In that moment, it seemed that nothing else had mattered but holding you there. And⌠You smiled up at me. Even though you should have feared me and cried, you didnât. You didnât fear me, Y/N. Donât you see? You werenât afraid of me like everyone else my whole life has been.â
âI-â You looked away. Your stomach turned. This was so much to take in. âI donât understand-â
âI know.â The Master nods. âI know. But one day, Little Time-Lord, you will. In time. You will finally see how much youâve always mattered to me.â
You shake your head. You were confused. This was so sudden. A lot of words were thrown at you all at once. You still didnât know if you should believe him or not.
Was this even happening? It felt like a dream. A crazy dream you would wake from. But it wasnât.
This was reality.
âI-â A tear slipped down your cheek. What were supposed to say?
âStay with me, Y/N. Forget about that silly old Doctor. Be with me. Your family.â The Master pleaded.
He seemed so genuine. Yet so desperate.
The Master was lonely. He had always been lonely, and now he was reaching out to you. The one person in the whole universe he cared for.
âYou want me to abandon The Doctor?â You asked.
He nodded. âForgive me for asking⌠But you have to, Y/N.â He admitted. âBecause the longer you stay with her, the longer youâre in danger. If you go off with her, I canât protect you.â
You felt a pain in your hearts. You couldnât abandoned The Doctor. She was your best-friend. Your family.
How could you possibly leave her?
The Doctor had not only saved your life so many times, but she had done so much more than that for you. She had loved you. Cared for you. Been there for you when you needed it the most. And helped guide you down the right path.
She had taught you things about yourself you had never known before. Had opened you up to other aspects of yourself that you had always been afraid to admit existed.
Taught you how good life could be. How you should never give up hope, how you should find your way through any problem, because sometimes it just takes time to realize that.
Most importantly, she taught to never give up on those you loved and loved you.
It was inevitable that perhaps one day you would have to choose between The Doctor and something else.
You just never imagined it would be today, or that The Master was the reasoning you had to make that choice.
âI canât abandon her.â You told him. âNo matter what, I just canât. Not her.â
The Master sighed, looking away.
âY/NâŚâ
âSheâs The Doctor.â You told him. You pulled yourself away from him, standing up and onto your feet.
The Master stood as well, but never breaking eye contact with you.
The Doctor has saved me. Protected me. Sheâs been there for me every step of the way.â You defended. You spent so long with her, and you just couldnât imagine being separated from her. You needed The Doctor. And she needed you.
You had seen The Doctor when she was lost in the darkness.
Consumed by her anger and frustration. Thatâs when The Doctor was most vulnerable.
Because no one could know what lengths she would go to. To protect the universe. To defend it. Thatâs why you had to stay by her side.
Protect her in the same ways she protected you.
The Master shakes his head. âY/N, youâre not safe with her. The reason sheâs saved you is because sheâs the one who always puts you in danger.â He scoffed. âHow many times have you almost been killed because of your travels with her?â
âI can handle myself!â You yelled back.
âPerhaps.â The Master remarked. âBut there are times when not even The Doctor can be your savior. When she herself is lost. Unable to be the hero she proclaims herself as.â
âOf course she gets lost.â You told him. Because even though The Doctor was a hero, a warrior, it didnât mean she always knew the answer. âOf course she gets scared and confused. And she doesnât always know the answer. But in the end, she figures it out. No matter how crazy her plans are. Or how dangerous. She prevails. She doesnât give up!â You shake your head. âAnd neither do I! Iâm not leaving her!â
âY/N trust me, itâs for your best interestâ He told you.
Best interest? How did he know what was best for you? âHow do you know whatâs best for me? Why should I trust you? You lie! You betray! Again and again! Iâve tried so hard to believe in you. Iâve tried so hard to be patient and think one day that youâll be good. That this fighting can end. But nowâŚâ Now you felt hopeless. Felt as if there was point in trying anymore. The Master was lost in the darkness too. The only difference was he couldnât be brought out of it. âNow I know who you really are. The villain of my story.â
The Master went quiet. Almost as if he was taken back in your words. Like he didnât know to react to them.
Like he was hurt. Truly hurt.
The Master stepped backwards. Still not speaking.
You went silent away. Watching him, and observing. You wanted to know what he was going to do. At first, you were frightened. Because you knew his anger and what it could make him do.
âMaster?â You quizzed.
The Master then looked back up at you. He slowly began to walk back towards you. You began to feel tense. What was he doing?
He kept going, but finally stopped a few feet from you.
The Master raised his hands, cupping your face. âIf it is I who is the villain of your story thenâŚthen I suppose this should be where we say goodbye.â
Your brows furrowed. He was agreeing with you?
âBut this time, I wonât abandon you. This time, it should be a proper goodbye.â The Master said. âIf it is a life with The Doctor you choose to have, then I shall not take it from you. You choose her. And I wonât try to change that but⌠But you need to know this, Y/N.â You felt his thumbs grazed your cheeks. You felt a chill go down your spine. âIâve spent so long feeling unloved. Being unable to love anything or anyone. But then, you came into my life. As that small child. So beautiful. So full of light and joy. And I felt this spark inside of me. This spark of light. Of warmth. OfâŚlove.â Your eyes grew wide.
What was he saying?
âBut maybe sometimes⌠Sometimes I I think of what my path could have been.â His eyes softened. Full of admiration and kindness. âAnd you know what I imagine? A path where I got to watch you grow up. Where I could take you so many things and take you so many places.â He chuckled, tears forming in his eyes.
Was heâŚcrying? You felt a pit in your stomach. The Master was beingâŚvulnerable. Showing his emotions.
All of this time, you believed there was no emotion left in him.
But there was. It was there, and he was showing it to you.
âAnd perhaps in this other life, I could be a warrior. A warrior that doesnât run and hide. A hero. SomeoneâŚgood.â The Master gave you a weak but sad smile. âI wouldâve been good for Y/N.â He let out a shaky breath. âBut that life is only a dream. Iâm sorry, Y/N. That I couldnât be the hero you wanted me to be.â He looked down at you. âWe must say goodbye now. But I think you need to know⌠I love, Little Time-Lord.â
Thatâs when you froze. HeâŚhe loved you?
It was now that you made the realization. Every word he had spoken was true. He did care about you. He always had.
It all hit you at once.
And now, tears flooded down your cheeks.
âGoodbye, Y/N.â The Master whispered. He leaned down, kissing your forehead. âIâll miss you so much.â
He then let go of your face, stepping away from you.
When he did, he could see how much his words had affected you. How much they had impacted you. You felt your knees going well, but managed the strength to keep up on your feet.
The Master didnât say another word. He then turns his back to you, in the opposite direction which he begins to walk.
Panic rose in you. Now suddenly you didnât want him to leave. Didnât want to say goodbye.
Now all you wanted was a second chance. A second chance to help him realize his goodness and his humanity.
âWait!â You cried out.
The Master kept walking. It was best thing to do, right? It was time to move on. No looking back.
âDonât leave me.â You plead. âYouâre right! Iâm not always save with The Doctor. But she can protect me and so can you. You can be good, I know it! I can help you! So please. Please stay!â While you claimed to need The Doctor, the truth wasâŚyou needed him too.
He was your family. And you knew that now.
The Master stopped in his tracks. He slowly turned to face you. Before he could fully turn around, all he could feel was your arms wrapping around his waist, hugging him tightly.
âDonât leave me again.â You cried.
The Master suddenly felt warmth in his chest. He pulled you away. He then gave you a smile. âOh I could never abandon you, again.â
âPromise me?â You looked up at him. Your teary eyes and pouting lips said it all.
âI promise.â He whispered.
âAnd by the wayâŚâ You sniffled. âI love you too.â
He then pulled you close to him, letting you hug him. But this time, he didnât hesitate to hug you back. Rocking you gently in his arms. âIâll protect you, Little Time-Lord. Forever and everâŚâ
