part ii
Summary: Apollo has literally loved you for years and years and lifetimes. Now that you return to him, that time his crossroads will not be long, but at least he was able to see you and fall in love with you once again. warnings: bad words, yea umm. Haha a/n: I'm so happy you liked what I wrote. It's really very important to me. AND SORRY if I'm late, it's just inspiration. The gods refused to give it to me, but it is here. Kisses.- From the other side of the milky way, María.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time, Apollo saw you and without hesitation passed his heart towards you. Oh gods, he had the best weeks of his life, but then he had to let you go. You were a mortal, he couldn't be with you for long without exposing you to danger.
And since he loved you so much, he decided to give up, he forced himself to see more for you than for his need to be with you.
He had already calculated it, it was about 100 years or so to see you again, but throughout those, he changed completely, he had to face a great battle against his father's ego and that of himself. He almost forgot how old and ageless he was, when you spend more than six months fighting for your life, that's how it is. Until that day when he accompanied his now friends to an amusement park, the same ones as always; Will, Nico, Rachel, Meg, and the seven. Ten young adults, one teenager and ONE “apparent” young adult. They were having a great time, actually.
The roller coasters, the ice cream, the sun (him), the kiddie rides that Meg insisted on riding. But Apollo had gotten tired, can a god get tired? Well, he's trying to keep up with so many demigods with ADHD at a fun fair.
He took a seat on one of those wooden benches with faded rainbow paint. The others looked for him and gathered around.
— Apollo! I want to go to the water attraction —  Percy said, holding Annabeth's hand, who was apparently analyzing the map of the place.
— Yes, and then we go to the flying chairs — said Jason, his practically brother. A smile that he had never seen adorned his face, next to him, Leo hung from the blonde's neck.
—Yes, come on, sunny.
—Don't be lazy, I want to go to the carousel.— Meg said, squeezing the dolphin plushie that he had won for her in the shooting game.
Frank handed him his ice cream, and Hazel looked at him for any injuries.
Will and Nico seemed to have moved on, they were very lovey-dovey lately.
—Thank you, Frank. I'm fine —
— If you don't like sharing, I can go get one for you.
Apollo smiled and brushed his brown hair out of his face.
—I'm fine, man. Don't worry.
But he knew that wasn't the case, he felt something in his stomach that wouldn't leave him alone.
Piper and Rachel looked at each other, both seeming to read each other's minds as they discussed something.
—How about we walk Meg to the carousel and come back for you? It sounds fun, a bunch of us riding metal animals going up and down —  Piper said, taking Meg's hand. Rachel nodded and smiled at Apollo.
— Yes, I think it will be enough for you to rest.
No one had any objections, but Apollo had sensed a certain charm in the words of Aphrodite's daughter. Was he missing something?
Everyone advanced and Rachel was the last to set off, she looked at the god knowingly.
— Good luck.
Apollo did not know what those words meant, and he waved goodbye. A remorse for not accompanying them invaded him, but he stayed sitting on the bench. He ruffled his curls anxiously and leaned on his thighs, taking in the great view of the concrete with a cooler of ants carrying breadcrumbs. Then, he felt a hit on the head and an apology.
— Sorry! Are you ok?
He looked up and oh, fuck. It was you? He could feel his heart crushing and feeling on fire. Apollo stood up from the bench.
— I-I'm fine, don't worry.
The last time he had seen you, your eyes were the color of olive, now they were brown, but the look was the same. You gave him a warm smile and placed your hands on your chest.
— Really? —
He nodded and smiled, too.  For you, Apollo's blue eyes became familiar within seconds of seeing them.
— We know each other?
“We've met thousands of times,” he wanted to say, but he couldn't. In other lives, he had told you that he was a god, and you believed him. But the situation in how you had met that day, the hurried manner of your meeting, told him that the meeting with you would not last at all. Even so, seconds or glances were enough for him, he was already in love with you, again.
His heart was immersed in melancholy, and he wanted to hug you.
— Maybe…
You opened your eyes a little and approached him curiously, you smelled like lavender and sunshine, that last one made his stomach flip. You were almost invading his personal space, which made him push his chin back to avoid bumping into your nose.
— I thought that, too. Do you come here often? It's just that I work at one of those food islands. — You told him and stepped back smiling to show him your uniform. You had a cap with the company logo embroidered on it.
— Ahm yes, with… — He thought of Meg and the others. He made a silent apology to Artemis — My sister and my friends.
You widened your smile and dug something into your pants pockets.
Apollo wanted to kiss you.
You hummed and finally took out some papers. Would you give him your number?
You held them out to him.
— Coupons!
Apollo took them gently, your fingers collided with his, and you felt a kind of electricity in your stomach. You let out a nervous laugh.
— Well, see you…— The boy came out of his trance. A name, he wouldn't say Apollo, would he?, but…
—Lester! — You smiled again and waved your hand goodbye.
— See you, Lester.
And you walked away from him, leaving him empty and wanting to take you with him to spend the rest of the afternoon at the fair, to be happy, to be together.
He spread the coupons in the palm of his hand and looked at them. He was able to gain something from his misfortune, at least. Of course, why not? Burgers for everyone.
— Apollo! — Meg's voice made him turn, and he smiled when he saw everyone. It seemed that Will and Nico had found their way back to the others.
Rachel met his gaze, she seemed slightly worried. So at that moment it all became obvious, she knew he would meet you.
Apollo sighed and held up the coupons in his hand.
— are you hungry?

So I was up from 12am to 5am reading ACFTL and I honestly can't believe that it's over now. Like my brain can genuinely not wrap my head around it. The book I have been waiting for months. The series I've been reading since it was only ouabh. I honestly can't believe it's done now.
So these are just my thoughts on acftl: (SPOILERS BTW)
So I want to start with things I didn't like because I like to end things on a more positive note:
● There was a lot of potential for other things that Stephanie has hinted to in the past (just basically a lot of unanswered questions) that I can't simply believe isn't anything bigger:
> "too familiar nickname" when Jacks called her Little Fox for the first time. This had the potential to be something really big, but the fact that Eva has no connection to the fox is just leaving me confused (as in being the first fox or a reincarnation). Like how. Especially when it was heavily hinted to in the past.
> "heavier than an apple should've been" when Jacks threw an apple at Eva in ouabh. I don't understand what this was supposed to mean if it just ended up being nothing. Like why did it have to be mentioned
> An Evajacks wedding was heavily hinted to in ouabh (even the reverse dust jacket for bn acftl). I just would have liked to see that.
● For me, some of the plot points just felt very disconnected and not linked, to the point where it felt like just random things being stringed together. Like it felt like things were just happening, as if I was reading different books at the same time.
● Acftl kinda feels like after tbona, Stephanie went online and saw everyone's theories and aimed to do the exact opposite. Sometimes I felt so confused because it felt like random facts and points were just thrown at me. Or this felt like this was the original version that Stephanie wrote.
●Why was time personified constantly?
●Where was my boy, Luc? I love him and I missed him so much. I was waiting for him to pop up on the page or make a creepy/funny appearance ("Hello, Eva" - I always laughed when he pulled stuff like this).
●Even though she's not relevant, where was Marisol? You can't tell me she just disappeared. I would have just liked to know what happened to her.
●Aurora's role felt so random.
●The whole thing about Jacks's curse felt to simple and barely touched on.
●I would have liked a better answer on Jacks’s obsession with apples. Like I understand it was left like that on purpose but it would have been nice.
*
●I would have liked the return of Scarlet and Tella. They were the ones who sent Evangeline to the Magnificent North. It would have been nice to see them after all of that and Jacks and Tella could have gotten some sort of closure.
●I love how everyone was hell-bent on the fact that apollo is lysander. The fact that everyone believed Apollo was Lysander started to make me doubt it. When Lysander appeared on the page, I was surprised tbh.
● Tbona established their clear feelings for each other and acftl was them just accepting it.
●Anyways I need domestic evajacks. Like 20 chapters. The bonus epilogues healed me.
My theories that were actually right: ●Tiberius slashing Apollo’s back
●Aurora having some type of magic and being the true villain. I was so sure that she was obsessed with Jacks and placed the Archer's curse.
~"My turn" if you know, you know. Something I never knew I needed. And I need more. There is never such thing as too much Evajacks.
Me having mixed feelings about acftl hurts so much because I've been waiting for this book for so long (I've been reading this series since it was only ouabh). I haven't been able to wrap my head around the fact that this is the official book. Ouabh and Tbona were soo amazing. They were so magical and fairytale like and I cried after I finished acftl, not just because the series was over (because I did) but because it didn't live up to the expectations I had and the high standards that ouabh and tbona set.
This series will always and forever be the series I go back to when I'm sad. Regardless of how it ended, I loved it because Stephanie created a new definition of magic and fairytale for me.

I had this need to re-read a certain part of TBONA, the part where Eva dreams about the handsome stranger. When I did, it just got me thinking about what the guy said and I felt the need to try figure out who he was.
His description...
His back was to a post, hair tousled and dark brown. Evangeline’s steps faltered. From a distance, she’d thought Jacks had been cast in shadow, but now it was clear the young man at the end of the dock was not Jacks. “You’re a difficult one to track down.” The young man turned from the lake, and when she saw his face, her breath caught in her chest. She thought at first that he looked familiar, but it might just have been that he was incredibly handsome, clean-cut jaw, dark eyebrows over hypnotic eyes, and a charming smile that made her heart take an excited little tumble.
Now his description makes one think about this carefully. We can forget about Eva thinking this is Jacks because I doubt that is all too important. At most this character is of similar build and height of him. An important thing is that he knows Jacks though, so I'm guessing that he's definitely someone of Jacks' past.
This handsome stranger has dark brown hair. Which certain family that knows Jacks well has dark brown hair, the Valors. Now, we have all thrown away the possibility of Apollo being Lysander Valor but what if his importance comes in another form and that being the handsome stranger from Eva's dream. (I like how I'm just coming up with ideas while going along)
Lysander Valor's power is something "that involved memories", we all know that. But, since his powers are so ambiguous, it could also include him managing to force entry into someones dreams. (Now I don't remember if any other character has managed to do this, like Jacks and Lala, I feel like Lala has but I really don't remember much)
It's highly possible that it isn't Lysander since we don't have much of a description other than the fact that the handsome stranger has dark brown hair but it is a possibility.
Now for what he says...
“I can see why Jacks likes you. You’re a bit like her, you know?” “Like who?” Evangeline asked. The Handsome Stranger rubbed his jaw. “He wouldn’t be happy if he knew I said this, but if you’re not careful, you’ll end up like her as well.” “Like who?” Evangeline repeated. “His first fox.”
He first says that she's a bit like the first fox. I'm guessing he means features. This could pertain to her being the first fox reincarnate. If she has physical features like her, it could give us answers to why Jacks treats Eva differently to how he treated Tella. It's possible that Eva's nickname came directly from Jacks based on how there are hints of similarity between Eva and the first fox. Jacks treated Tella very horribly, often being rough and rash with her. Often kissing her without any care to her possibly dying from it (I think that with Legend's blood in her system she's safe but, otherwise, she was dying). With Eva he tries to put distance but keeps feeling a push towards her yet never tries to kiss her, does that not make you think? He cares too much for her to die, he saved her from death as well. But he's acting as he did with the Fox when he had the archer curse, not necessarily running away just for Eva to run after him but hes trying to keep away from her emotionally which is even harder... I think their saving grace from their doom could have been Apollo
The handsome stranger warned Eva, this was a warning so she felt compelled to find out what happened to the fox once and for all. Maybe he was trying to hint that the story curse could be involved and that she would be taken with death just like the first fox (which she was). Yes, Jacks had the stones and went back in time to rectify her death but that wasn't enough because something worse than death is losing track of what you have done and who you have become and Eva had memories from the past year taken away.
It was definitely a warning for her, there are many ways to interpret it as well so who genuinely knows what it means. Stephanie put this character in for a reason, maybe I went round in circles but I have a feeling that he is Lysander and he was warning Eva to be careful.
Hello, thank you so much for your theory! ☺️
As you have said, the Handsome Stranger was indeed warning Evangeline from to Jacks to save her life because he had noticed that Jacks wasn't acting like himself and it wasn't smart to get cozy with him.
His mention of the First Fox plays a huge role in all this and gives sense to the theory that Evangeline is the first Fox reincarnated. Jacks's relationship with Evangeline didn't start off romantic. They annoyed each other. But still their relationship changed when they started having repressed feelings for each other. Because of that, Jacks keeps his distance to keep her safe from him.
If he doesn't, she'll die.
The Handsome Stranger told her that her death would destroy him, and I'm sure he doesn't want to see his friend get heartbroken all over again.
However, the Handsome Stranger does have an identity we already know. Evangeline confirmed it to be Chaos.
From TBONA pg. 315 and 369:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With all of the info we got from Jacks, it's safe to say that because Chaos went after Vengeance, life in the Magnificent North would be changed forever because of his new transformation as a vampire. Half of the reason. Evangeline recognizes Chaos in that scene with his mother, too 😊

Woah woah, okay. So I just finished spirit of justic except for the special episode. Current thoughts from a foggy memory:
realizing this post is super long so it’s under the break, also soj spoilers
Implied that Phoenix and gumshoe correspond on their own when Phoenix mentions something to Edgeworth. When he’s questioned about it he just says something like “I have my sources…” and Edgeworth tells him to inform his source of a paycheck cut.
Even though Athena got a case of her own to do I feel like she didn’t have as strong of a presence and idk man balancing three lawyers kind of a crazy move
I found rayfa oddly charming because of her silly insults
Not utter dogshit but I see why people generally dont like dual Destinies and spirit of justice as much
My mom misses gumshoe
I did not call the queen being powerless like at all
if there’s another ace attorney game I want a dedicated scene about Apollo and Trucy getting told the truth
Hard to pick a favorite case but I think I liked case 2 and turnabout storyteller just bc it was pretty fun. Also can not believe Athena’s case was the super short filler one!
would’ve appreciated more Maya
cannot believe they just added on characters that were never previously mentioned. Oh yeah, there’s a secret fourth group gramarye member. Apollo? He actually has a brother and was left behind by his foster father at about fifteen or so.
Did the archaeologist guy just… steal a bunch of shit from Adrian’s exhibit? He had literally everything. Good god I wonder how he felt about that scroll having gravy on it
on the plane ride back why did Trucy sit (and fall asleep on) Edgeworth instead of idk her father. What did Athena really want to sit there or something. It’s very cute but also why
Actually Maya and Edgeworth should’ve sat next to eachother on the plane so they can debate about plumed punisher. “You gave away your one of a kind steal samurai themed watch FOR A RIPOFF KEYCHAIN” and then he throws her off the plane (personally, of the belief he would throttle ms inmee [not actually])
about that, it’s so funny to me that he ranted about the show to Datz, a guy he just met and is a revolutionary
Need to mention that Edgeworth’s cravat gets attacked by a dog, I don’t even have a comment I just need to iterate that fact
The breakdown scenes were fun and dynamic but idk I didn’t care for them that much
kind of thought they were gonna channel Apollo’s dad Jove fucking justice
It was funnier when I, for a split second, assumed that since nobody knew the name of his father that Apollo chose his last name to be Justice.
just now realizing that Apollo who shares a namesake with the god of music has two musician parents now
I am so happy that the 3d sprites look better than in dual destinies I don’t know if I could take it if they looked like that again
My mom’s favorite character design is Rayfa’s (but her favorite character is Susato who has nothing to do with soj)
Maya should get an “I survived TWO kidnapping” shirt because everyone wants leverage over Phoenix.
From what I saw online before playing the game I thought nahyuta would be super insanely awful, and then they introduce him as a level headed guy. Then I think oh he seems okay, and then he tells Apollo to go to the depths of hell and that he’ll be reincarnated as a piece of shit
When investigating phoenix tells Edgeworth that he think’s he’d like a gaudy house, to which Edgeworth is offended. And then Phoenix makes fun of him for his bright red sports car in his mind.
Would’ve loved a reference to some older characters, like Iris who is just like never brought up again. Anyways, what’s with spirit channeling families and being super fucked up
i am so sorry to say that Apollo looked like really good in that one cg with his hair antenna down (the one where he almost drowned) (not my best moment)
How in the world did Apollo survive as a teenager? If dhurke left him 10 or so years before this he’d be about fifteen? Did he just get dropped off at a boarding school, who the hell took care of him and how did he become a lawyer.
Why didn’t Amara just resume the throne herself? Idk if I totally missed something but isn’t she still a rightful heir
Khura’in spent EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS ON A LIE. THEY WERE DONATIONS. AND FIVE YEARS OF LABOR (Amara’s tomb)
So funny to me that nahyuta drags Ema around everywhere like a little ragdoll back and forth country to country
The pun names in this one were wild 🤪 (suggested emoji)
oh god what if Edgeworth and rayfa were to talk about plumed punisher
Yeah we’re back to this, edgey’s sitting in a rebel hideout with lizards hanging from the ceiling and he watches the plumed punisher??? I kinda forgot the timeline but either Maya is currently kidnapped or dhurke’s in jail “oh okay I’ll stay behind” “let’s turn on the tv” “what the fucj is this”
One time phoenix’s phone went off and I jumped out of my seat because I also have the steal samurai theme as my damn ringtone
I get that it’s just fun sprite stuff but where does nahyuta get all his necklaces? How does his floating ribbon work?
In aa4 with my vague recollection, there’s a scene that kind of made me assume Ace attorney definitely took place in some weird fantasy land that coexisted with real world. (It was something that had to do with the founding fathers? And apollo “yes I know what America is” justice, like they currently don’t live there. It was some exchange during the case where klavier’s guitar blows up). Guess how surprised I was when oh golly now they’re full blown Americans!
since I mentioned aa4 and I already got off track everytime my mom hears that song (which Apollo made his ringtone) she complains about it and gets bad flashbacks. She told me everytime she hears a piano arrangement she thinks about the case. Maybe it wore off by now but it was her version of blue badger
Uendo was my favorite witness
Yeah I don’t think I have anything else to say, what a nice note to it on.
Nope I remembered something, queen ga’ran made me want to use the royal we.

May I share with you the headcanons? They are stupid and my brain is vibrating :"3
The process of rebirth and reincarnation of souls belongs only to the shadow angels and it is available only to them. Twelve thousand years ago, humans, ordinary wingless humans, were not capable of rebirth and were interested in this inaccessible process. Imagine that the whole point of Celian and Apollonius' relationship is that the girl took advantage of a fallen angel traitor for the secret of reincarnation. Maybe the relationship with the Angel, and receiving reincarnation, was a big sin for Sylvia if her soul is divided and her reincarnations have wings on their hands.
I love Commander-in-Chief Fudo, but it has to do with Apollo and when I thought he was the reincarnation of Apollonius.
Deaf! Apollo. He's still wild, has a keen sense of smell, and communicates in sign language. Maybe he was able to get into Diva as one of the Aquarion pilots (canonical event). His encounter with Toma? Toma comes to "his Solarwing," examines the boy, and maybe he doesn't understand why Apollo looks over to the crew and they communicate on their fingers. And when Toma speaks, it is telepathic and Apollo hears it! He hears someone else's voice, feels awkward and embarrassed, but imagine how happy he is to ask Shadow Angel to say something else. Maybe one of the pilots will tell Toma that Apollo is deaf.
OOO thank you SO MUCH for sharing these with me :DD i love aus and headcanons!
ooo that's a really cool take on the reincarnation and the start of the war! much to think about...
!!!!! YO DEAF APOLLO IS A REALLY COOL AU! maybe he got a disease when he was younger that gave him hearing loss, so like one of the only other voices he's ever heard was Baron, and now toma comes up and apollo can't help but be more fascinated by him and his telepathy (and maybe that's something sirius and silvia could learn too? maybe partially bc of their angel blood?) - VERY INTRIGUING!!

Book #110 - Goddess by Josephine Angelini
(at which point am I allowed to call all of this bullshit insulting)
How is it that I have yet to come upon an Iliad retelling that follows the "Helen actually wants to be there" idea which doesn't just straight up suck? I'd like to think I'm open to that. It shouldn't be a guarantee for failure.
So then why the fuck do all of those retellings/adaptations paint the Greeks as barbaric savages with DV eyes who never heard of compassion or decency, let alone hygiene, and all the Trojans as these kind, charming pretty people who could never do anything wrong, ever? Why do they all lack moral nuance. Why are they afraid of holding their protagonists accountable.
And even among those, I have never before witnessed one that flinched so hard at even the suggestion of narrative accountability. The book keeps making shit up to take as much responsibility from its faves as it is humanly possible, and it should have become comical at some point, but instead it just kept getting worse.
Anyway, some choice quotes and highlights fom my notes:
- So Orion's mum is "insane", "the kind of insane that is dangerous to be around" (yes, those are direct quotes). Such a tactful, nuanced portrail of mental illness. Bravo, truly. Bravo.
- If I understand this book correctly, then all the Starcrossed House of Atreus inherited from the actual House of Atreus (Agamemnon, Menelaus, etc.) is the name. Which is disappointing. Petition to rename it House of Helen or something?
-So... Paris looks like Lancelot who looks like Lucas who looks like Orion's dad who looks like Odysseus, and all of them look like Poseidon. I... I don't think this was thought through, tbh.
- light note: Hector went swimming in jeans. Was very astonished that he managed to keep his cool during the confrontation with Apollo, while his legs were in the grips of a denim boa constrictor. (who goes swimming in jeans????)
- speaking of that scene... "It was a queer-sounding cackle - not human, and a little less than sane." (again, direct quote.) Someone tell grandma that you can't say shit like this anymore, what the fuck. This came out in 2013, ffs. Jesus, you're lucky I read so much 19th/early 20th century lit, or I might have interpreted that sentence in a 100% less charitable light. (also, of course it has to be Apollo who gets described like this... not defending Apollo, just not a fan of biphobia or -erasure. which, yes, of course all his targets/victims here are female. did you expect anything else?).
- Since the presences of neither Demeter or Artemis get even alluded to at the duels/war, I'm choosing to picture them taking one long look at all of this and then saying "nah, we're good. we're just gonna sit this one out." and then they're just chilling on Olympus, maybe taking a nature walk while the rest of the fam go embarass themselves.
- Matt-as-Achilles looks at Hector and thinks "aw, him and his gf are reuinted. They were always such an awesome power couple. Hope it turns out better for them this time." And I ask, again, at what point am I allowed to call this insulting. Like, sorry, but if I suddenly got possessed by a magic dagger that sorta kinda turned me into a reincarnation of Achilles, I would not look at the splitting image of Hector of Troy and think anything other than "Hey. That's the guy who drove me into the deepest grief and the loudest wrath back in the war. I almost went insane because of him. Threw away my life and my principles just to kill him." Be serious.
- Why invoke shit you're never gonna follow up on. Why tease me with Arthuriana like this when you're not gonna do anything with it? Why promise me Nemesis when you don't even seem to be aware who she is??
- Why am I supposed to sympathize with God!Helen? Or any of her immortal posse? Also, why did this book end up punishing Ariadne so hard? She didn't do anything, did she?? She didn't even make a moral decision, she just sided with her bf. And everyone else got forgiven for that! Also, she deserved more than being a stand-in for the bland non-character that is Briseis. She only got that face so this version of Achilles would have a girlfriend (which hurts to type) and that's honestly just... yeah, it's insulting. To everyone involved.
- OH. Btw, Patroclus gets, like, name-dropped, once, when Helen remembers Achilles challenging OG Hector, "half-insane with grief", but nothing comes of that comment, it's a single sentence, and then the whole ordeal doesn't even get alluded to anymore. Matt fights Hector on moral grounds alone, on an issue that gets side-stepped later anyway, and- ugh.
- Every single relationship in this book is either a bad idea, rushed, toxic, or any combination of these. The Hector/Andromache speedrun especially was done in some very speaky clownshoes, and... ugh, did we have to make Orion a nonce? Did we? Did we really? You don't have to pair up everyone at the end, you can leave the fourteen-year-old prophet alone, Jesus. It's not that hard.
I wanted to do a contemplatative post for this last one. Look back on the series as a whole, reflect a bit... But no. No, I needed to yell, again. Because sometimes you just need to write a comprehensive list of why nobody should spend money on something. And I'm so very glad I didnt.
Reading this trilogy felt like chugging poison. Like I was doing a keg-stand, but the keg was full of poison. Well, folks, the keg is empty. And I'm gonna read some really fluffy shit now. Teeth-rotting queer fluff extravaganza. Fuck you.

You know... I don't think I would be quite so upset at Disney's Hercules if they'd have portrayed Zeus & Hades more accurately.
Now, that doesn't mean that Zeus should've been outright a cheating, philandering, fuckboy who couldn't keep his d in his toga... anymore.
By that I mean that, I would've accepted it if the writers had hinted at... less than stellar teenage years before meeting Hera, while not going into any explicite detail other than the fact that Zeus was humiliated by the things that he used to get up to in the old days. Maybe have it be something that the other gods tease him mercilessly about. Then, they could've had their cake & eaten it too!
The other thing is how they portrayed Hades. Keep his basic personality from the movie, but instead of make him the outright villain, make him more of an antagonist, who's actually a pretty reasonable dude. Like, maybe he originally comes across as the bad guy & Hercules assumes that's what he is, as well as the person behind everything, but it later turns out he's a reasonable dude if a snarky asshole.
Then... instead, make the villain Eris, who is literally the Goddess of Hatred & built for the role. If not her, then Gaia, who very explicitly hates both humanity & the Greek gods.
You can even keep Hercules as Hera's actual son if you go the route of all those other demi-gods kids of Zeus' having been a consequence of when he was single, mingling, & spreading his wild oats.
Yes, it's a shift in the original myths, but I feel like it's a believable enough of a shift that people would let it slide a bit more readily for the most part.
Also, cool would've been introducing Artemis & Apollo as Herc's older half-sibs. Though, I think there should be a definite rift between the 2 due to Apollo having tricked her into killing Orion, he lover. Like, she refuses to be in the same room as him. (Which could create interesting parallels between them & Amaterasu's relationship with Tsukuyomi. It's believed there that the reason why the sun & moon are never in the sky together is due to them having separated.)
And showing that Hades has a wife & kids of his own? Also cool.
Though, I think I'd opt with the version of the legend where, yes, Hades kidnapped Persephone, but at the end, she wasn't tricked into eating the pomegranate seeds & instead chose to herself.
Also, make Zagreus Hades & Persephone's son. I know that it's debated as to whether he was Hades' or Zeus', but I feel like his domain over reincarnation fits more with Hades as his father.
I actually don't know much about Melinoe... I mean, other than the fact that she's Hades & Persephone's daughter & the Goddess of Ghosts & Spirits. Other than that, nothing.

I'd love to hear more thoughts on that crossover.
YES OMG!!!
(this is abt my pjo/bsd crossover btw!)
so a little worldbuilding: atsushi was still an orphan obvi, and they're all like 12-18? so like atsushi would be like 14? dazai/kunikida/ranpo/etc would be like 18? or maybe ranpo would be like 20 but still at chb idk. the pm might be camp jupiter? also all the pjo characters still exist in this universe so none of the bsd guys are like the main characters
so i think atsushi would be a dionysus or apollo kid. dionysus cause tigers and apollo cause idk the vibes.
ummmm i said that kunikida would be an athena or zeus kid, athena cause brains and zeus cause honestly i feel like it just fits yk?
the tanazaki's would be like dionysus kids
yosano would be an apollo or thanatos kid. cause healing but like healing with death?
and poor like 10 year old kyouka is an athena kid
kenji is a demeter kid
fukuzawa is like a... fuck wait this is difficult. he's a hermes kid maybe? trust me the vibes are there
more below the cut cause i'm gonna talk A LOT
NOW WE'RE ONTO DAZAI! this bitch was really hard to categorise actually cause like you have to give him something in line with his character arcs? so my first thought was apollo, cause idk but it didn't really fit. my second idea was aphrodite AND HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE. so like he'd see people as not really caring about him cause he'd feel like he made them? and he'd have charmspeak. also him being an aphrodite kid just feels right when i think about the fifteen scene. he could also be a hades kid with a nico-esqe time travel lotus casino type of shitshow and like oda was his brother figure maybe? idk i feel like he'd be an aphrodite kid and i refuse to elaborate. (he could be a venus kid cause port mafia?)
ranpo is just mortal and can see through the mist, maybe he's an oracle maybe he's not.
LETS GO TO THE PM!
chuuya could be from another pantheon? maybe? idk he's an ares/mars kid or maybe like a thanatos kid? or he got like cursed/bestowed with like being a demigod but like he doesn't have a proper godly parent? but like he has a patron god parent? so like maybe a titan? like hyperion or smth? or atlas? idk
mori is like a legacy of asclepius and kouyou is an ares/mars kid 100%
the akutagawa's are related on the mortal side and ryuu is a luna (selene) kid? gin is like possibly a very distant legacy of like ultios (assassins!)?
higuchi is like a nymph or driad or smth like that.
kaiji is a minerva or vulcan kid
ummm hirotsu is like a legacy of zeus. very distantly tho
i probably forgot someone from the mafia but whatever
i'd say the hunting dogs are all mortal but can see through the mist (or sense, in jouno's case)
ummmm lets see
other relevant characters:
i want the guild to be a different pantheon so they're the norse ppl. or like 50/50 mortals
POE IS NOT DEAD BTW HE'S NOT IN VALHALLA! poe is like an odin kid maybe? or he's just completely normal? idk he needs powers but yeah he can defs see through the veil/mist and like do shit with it
uhhh oda was themis kid or legacy.
ango's an athena kid? maybe?
OH SHIT THE DOA!!!
i think the decay of angels is like people from a lot of different pantheons with similar goals.
fyodor i think should be from the slavic mythological pantheon so now i get to read about more myths!!! this is obviously very loose cause there isn't much known about slavic myths and gods (cause the christian colonisers didn't care enough to write anything about them) but i feel like he's a dola kid. dola is the personification of destiny and fate! fyodor could also just be completely normal
nikolai is a normal mortal dude who can like see myth-y stuff but he can also do legit magic? like i feel like it would come from the "soul" or smth instead of godly genes? idk like he got gifted with magic cause like a god took pity on him or smth?
AND SIGMA!!! MY CHILD!!! he's a weird one cause like he spawned out of a book. i'd say maybe he's a reincarnated soul? idk tho
lmao there was no worldbuilding here but whatever

For the kiss and tell, do I name just the OC(s) or the prompt to go along with it as well?
Just a few (too many) ideas:
Dionysos / Luke: a kiss shared during a game
Dionysos / Apollo: kissing them to shut them up
Seren's parents (maybe when they first met? It's Ireland after all 😜) sharing a kiss in a heavy downpour of rain
Orestes / Dylan, the OTP: kiss to resolve suppressed romantic/sexual tension
Shahra / Winnie / Mr Darcy (or any combination thereof): a kiss after joining your lover in the shower
Pick the one you wanna do the most 💜
Love, Aimée
Hello! <3
Thank you for the lots of prompts! I did one, may return to do some others… And in writing. I've not been so inspired with TLB, but this may be the way to kick me back in again!
For all the others who don’t know what this is about: These are characters from the webcomic I’ve been writing and drawing (the colours are made by one of my dearest friends, who’s not on Tumblr actively for me to tag) in the last years: @thelastbacchae. It’s Greek Mythology set in the modern day. Seren is a Classic enthusiast who went on a school trip and had a too close encounter with Dionysos, who now lives with her as the house cat. It turned out that Seren’s parents… Already knew Dionysos, and Circe as well.)
I wanted to post a couple, but this was something I had in mind since LONG and… My hand slipped. And I’m wordy.
Seren's parents (maybe when they first met? It's Ireland after all 😜) sharing a kiss in a heavy downpour of rain
There really was no point, then. The refusal stung bitterly at him, as much as one big part of his brain told him he has been overly lucky to get out of that room with just a bloody nose, not broken, a black eye and bruises all over. And two gods walking behind him, quarrelling fiercely amongst them, as they never seemed to stop doing.
The last three weeks had been a blur of events, and he felt his life turned upside down, in the worst possible way. He celebrated his first year in Dublin, his Diploma in Old Irish for his PhD, and acceptance on the second year of Early Irish. The exam session was oncoming, but he wasn’t worried about that. That was, indeed, the least of his problems.
The biggest one, now, was how ever he was going to explain to professor Byrne the poor state of his appearance. He watched himself in the reflection of a car, and he looked like he ran face first against a double decker. Very unbecoming for a Trinner assistant, he knew. He just hoped that Trinity had a more lenient environment than Oxford. Or he was fucked.
The second problem, was the fact that he apparently had made friends with none other than Circe. Sorceress, daughter of Helios, the very same. She was nice company, normal enough or striving to be so. They met when they both were new at university, and he caught on pretty quickly that there was something weird with her. For once, she enrolled in a post-graduate course and had no idea on how universities worked. He had been told many times that he was “Born an old man”, his social life was close to zero, outside books and old ruins, but she beated him in stride. They clicked, he helped her out, she told him who he was. It was as good as it could get, being underdogs together.
And then, her friend came by in town. Her friend who was Dionysos. Her friend who was suddenly VERY interested in him, because a friend of his -Tom didn’t understand if it was a boy or a girl, they called them John and Ariadne interchangeably- had to… Reincarnate. And he was supposed to be the father. Apollo told them so.
What Tom didn’t know, beside the fact that he should really have paid more attention to Plato’s theory, apparently, was that ancient deities are apparently terrible matchmakers.
Because the supposed mother was none other than Johanna Connelly. The most beautiful girl in the camp, a brilliant name in the Microbiology Faculty, so much so that her name was known even in Humanities. And, an activist.
Tom knew her. Tom knew her on sight, and it would be a lie saying that when they told him, his heart didn’t skip a beat at the idea and suddenly fell like the main character of a fairy tale.
Except, gods are real, but fairy tales aren’t, and Johanna and him lived on different planets. She was popular, fashionable, had lots of friends she went out with, she was Irish and could be found on campus distributing fliers and informative leaflets about this and that social cause. Once she tied herself to the doors to protest for equal rights. Tom never saw anything so beautiful, like Queen Medb facing the ire of Conchobar and kicking him out of her palace, powerful and unstoppable. And it was rumoured her brothers were activists up in Belfast, fighting for the reunification. Some said IRA, whispered as a secret. But Tom heard. And he was but an English bookworm, with a penchant for ancient Celtic history that always made him too enthusiast in speaking, a heavy Hampshire accent on his own, socially awkward, knew nothing about fashion, and too shy and timid to enter some social protest.
It was impossible, as three weeks of setting ups showed. And there’s really a long way two gods can go to set you up with another mortal. A long way. But it wasn’t enough if none of them was Aphrodite or Eros, and one of the pair refused to call them, refused to force her into something she may not want. It didn’t feel right.
He tried to talk to her, tried to bring her flowers -but he chose Orchids for their meaning of beauty and charm… And she protested that he spent money on flowers that were imported from so much south, releasing pollution into the air with who knew how many consequences, the planet wouldn’t survive so long if we keep wasting fuel for orchids. She was right, and he was mortified. He should have thought it. Diotima -Circe- had grumbled that there was no need to be so bitchy about it. But he stopped her. They tried again. And again. Going to a party she was at didn’t work, he didn’t find an excuse to greet her and she started dancing with one of her friend. Or was it a girlfriend?. Same pub? He got caught to drink by a group of friendly people, and by the time he could look up she was gone. They had no lesson in common, couldn’t study together.
Desperate, he listened to the rumours. He sought a group of young militants for Ulster Independency. Not the IRA, of course. Baby steps.
Diotima had told him it was a terrible idea. Dionysos scrunched his nose at the methods, grumbled it was his brother’s territory and he could help little… But admitted it could have worked. Just show up, see what they’re talking about, we’ll bring you out if it escalates.
The situation didn’t escalate so quickly. He entered a cell of young people, found by the two gods, and for the first time it was nice. He used his mother’s surname, O’Sullivan, instead of his father’s, told them he was Irish, but his family had to move to England. Gained sympathies. He had brains to him, which was appreciated, he could talk about philosophy and the reunions he attended were just that. Talking.
For a minute, Diotima and his conscience telling him that it was wrong, he should lose them and get out while he still could, it was all right. It was fun, it was nice, he felt part of something bigger and he felt amidst friends.
So much that, this evening, he told them.
Told them his surname was Calvert, just his maternal grandfather was Irish, that he grew up in Southampton, was English, but loved Ireland more than he could say, and felt so welcome.
They didn’t take it well.
By the time Diotima flashed them, becoming incandescent as the sun for a moment, and Dionysos flicked his fingers a purple haze -Dionysos hummed Jimi Hendrix’s song as it did- rose up in the room, rendering everyone too stunned to do much but flop on the ground and laugh in an alcoholic stupor, he was spitting blood, his nose bleed profusely, one of his eyes was so swelled he couldn’t see, and he was so sore that breathing hurt.
The two brought him out, Circe fed him a very bitter plant that made his bleeding stop, and here they were, returning home under a sky that promised rain, dark and cloudy as his mood. He left his umbrella in the flat, and someone took his wallet. He had no money to go back home -gods tend to forget of the practicality of life, at least Circe apologized- and so he was walking, all the way to Rathmines, feeling hopeless and stupid.
“This was the stupidest idea ever! How could you think it would work?”
“Oh sure, because the orchids were so effective!”
“Orchids to an environmentalist! What a great idea!”
“I grew them myself, they didn’t pollute anything!”
“Sure, cow-head, because mortals contemplate the fact that flowers grow when you step!”
“Said the one who made one friend and spat everything out!”
“At least my mortal friend doesn’t hate me! When was the last time you even saw John? Eh? When the Beatles split?”
“You’re insufferable!”
“Said the god of ritual madness!”
Tom couldn’t take it one minute more. He had enough. So, he took the situation in his hands, and for once in his life gave in to anger, turning on his heels and yelling right back.
“Would you please stop it?!”
They did, both snapping their heads toward him, surprised. Tom straightened his eyeglasses on his nose, broken but better than not having them. He could see through the cracks.
“It won’t work, no matter how hard you try. I let myself hope miracles could happen and look at me. I’m hurting all over, I will be kicked out tomorrow because I was stupid about this whole story, and without this PhD, I have nothing! I’ll end up digging some place random, never publish my own research, and for what? For running after a fairy tale?”
He leashed out, clenching his fist at his sides and swallowing some more blood that trickled down his throat from his nose, the agitation opening wounds up again.
“I am sorry I made you lose so much time, it was fun spending time with you and Circe, you’re my best friend and I love you. But sincerely, I’m out. I give up. Find another guy.”
If Circe looked down at the pavement, with real sorrow, Dionysos just glared at him with some threat. Like a panther stalking its prey, golden eyes closing down at him, lips contracting in a thin line.
“There’s a prophecy.” He hissed, gravely.
“I don’t care.” Tom debated, shrugging. “It’ll come true whether I’m trying or not. Or it was another Thomas Calvert, or another Historian. I… I’m sorry. I can’t do this, not anymore.”
Tom was, indeed, sorry. He turned on his heels, leaving them. Remotely, he could hear the noise of a step, some breath taken too quickly, before Circe spoke. “No. Let him go.”. He was grateful for her, really. She was company when he was alone, and he was sad to have disappointed her in helping with her family. He would have bought her some baklava from the place she liked most. If she ever showed up on Campus again.
He turned a corner and he was alone, none following him. That was good. Now if the sky, or Zeus at this point, would just start raining, he would have been satisfied and allowed himself to cry. As childish as it would be, he needed crying. He really like Johanna, he admired her strength, her willingness to fight so fiercely for others, for people she didn’t even know. He wasn’t like that, and would never be. His place was in the back of a library, submerging in another world, another time when things were, apparently, easier. Or at least, certain in their ending. The present had not the certainty of history, if you didn’t know the future. Or if the future you knew clearly didn’t talk about you.
Vaguely he could hear faint steps behind him, of a person who was running. A person with heels, from the concitated click-clack of heels. He couldn’t care less. The streetlight was red anyway, he just stepped on the side to let the runner pass easily.
But, to his surprise, he felt someone grabbing at his elbow, strongly, and try to turn him around.
The panic from the afternoon he just spent rose up again instinctively, and his first reaction was to resist the movement and crouch down again, to protect himself. Not another time, please. Not today.
Nonetheless, the hand of his elbow resisted, and it became two hands, one on the opposite shoulder, clenching down.
“Hey! Hey, it’s me! I’m not gonna hurt you!”
He froze on his spot, not daring to open his eyes. Or well, the one eye that was functional at the moment.
“I’m so sorry, I heard… I came as fast as I could. Did they…” The hands shifted. “Oh, feck, what did they do to you…”
There was a sad rage in the voice that was speaking to him. A feminine voice he knew, even if he never heard them with that tone of voice. It was a voice fit for indignation, for speaking up, for denouncing and for justice. The tenderness was… Weird. In a nice way that poked directly at his heart and at some budding feeling. He opened his eye, tentatively, and…
… And Johanna Connelly was staring at him, frowning in disapproval, but with a weird turn of her lips. Something that, again, spoke of tenderness.
“I-I’m sorry.” He told her, instinctively, trying to retract from her.
“Of what?” She snorted, shaking her head in a wave of loose curls. “I am sorry for you. I was there to pick my brother up… And he told me what happened. He recognised you in that room. I was close by.”
She confessed, calmly. It didn’t seem like she hated him.
“There was…?”
“Yes, Oisin. That idiot. Tall, red leather jacket. Tell me he didn’t…”
He remembered him. So Circe and Dionysos DID got him in the right group after all. He hadn’t bothered to ask for everyone’s surnames.
“He didn’t.”
“He didn’t even stop them tho. Oh, I’m going to punch him.” She groaned, furrow deepening on her face.
Tom could not make out heads from tail about why exactly she was there. Sure, by his many trials to approach her, she must remember him… But running after him after he was beaten?
“I- There’s no need to. I was stupid about it, and… Johanna, right?” He cleared his throat, embarrassed and dying to change the subject.
“Yes. And you’re Thomas. From Celtic Studies.”
“I-… Do you know me?”
“Orchid lad? How could I forget!” She laughs, briefly and clear, patting his shoulder and offering her arm to take. “Genius English that can take every Irishmen on Gaelic and even speaks some Welsh? You’re not so invisible as you think you are.”
The way she said it, with a warm smile on her face, it really seemed like a compliment. He smiled back, taking her arm with his and letting her lead him across the street. They exchanged small talk, topic going to something lighter and less consequential. He told her he was going to Rathmines, and that he forgot his wallet in the jacket back there, with his umbrella. She promises to bring everything back to him, should she kick every one of the idiots in the group herself. She assured him he would not have been fired, no matter what those pompous stuck-ups at Oxford would have said. This was no England anymore, luckily.
She brought him to a bus stop and put some coins in his hand, telling him he would have given them back later, it was not a problem.
“It’s really the least I could do, after my brother just… Watched as a bunch of eejits beated you because you happened to be English.” She snorted.
“It is not a problem, for you? You seem very active and… Well…”
“The rumours?” She sighed, heavily, crossing her arms before her chest. “Don’t tell me you believe them, please. Some people just see anyone standing up for civil rights and shout at the IRA. I hate this situation. I hate this country.”
It broke his heart a little, in compassion. He could relate wanting to get away from a country you don’t like. He already ran from England, after all.
“It’s not so bad. You have no Margaret Thatcher running for PM, at least…”
She laughed at that, turning towards him with a bigger smile.
“But living in London would be so fun.”
“Tell me after you look at the rental prices.”
He laughed as well, joining her. For a minute, they laughed together, and she leaned her hand on his arm again. Tom’s heart beated fast. She wasn’t so difficult to talk to, after all. Quite the contrary. She looked up again, smiling.
“I’m sorry about what happened, really. You didn’t deserve it.”
“Don’t mention it. You shouldn’t have run after me like that. I appreciate it! But I… I must not have made a good impression to you.”
Johanna’s smile faltered, head leaning on the side.
“Why so? You’ve been around for some time, yes, but what did you do wrong?”
“The orchids. And… Well.” He indicates himself.
“You’re pointing at the whole of you.” She noted, amused.
“Bookworm, human disaster, I’ll show up tomorrow with the ugliest pair of extra eyeglasses ever. I actually like tweed.”
She laughed again, loud and boisterously. Very little feminine, but Tom couldn’t care less. She was even more beautiful.
“It’s not that bad, and come on. It could be worse.”
“… It could be raining?” He couldn’t help the quotation, a dope smile creeping on his face. Crooked and ugly, but happy. She didn’t seem to mind that he wass beaten up, and smiled back, the same glint in her eyes.
“Want to dig up some cemeteries? I could do some studies over corpses and skeletons…”
And then, as on clue, a first drop of rain fell down, hitting Johanna’s hand. Big and fat. A second followed, on Tom’s nose. A third, a fourth, a fifth… And suddenly, it was heavily pouring over them, on their own with no umbrella, Tom didn’t even have a jacket to be gallant and cover her up. They laughed, madly and furiously, Tom made a bold move and circled her shoulder under his arm, dragging her against the wall of the closest building for the small repair of the roof up above. It wasn’t much, but it was better than nothing. Johanna patted on his chest, clearing her throat.
“Your bus is coming.”
“Oh.”
A pause, both looking at the double decker slowly approaching. With disappointment.
“Would you like to lunch together, tomorrow?” He asked, abruptly, averting his eyes suddenly as he realised that he was still hugging her shoulders and now asking her to lunch together. “Ah… So I can give you back your money, that is.” He corrected.
“I’d like that. Very much. Even if you don’t have the money. 12:30 at the Campanile?”
“Y-yes.”
“Good.”
And with that, and all of a sudden, as the bus was getting closer and closer, she pushed up on her toes, grabbed his pullover on his chest to bring him down and meet his lips in a soft, sweet kiss, slick with rain, but very careful not to hurt him. Delicate, but not casual. He kissed her back, closing his eyes and sighing into it, heart beating a crazy rhythm in his ears.
“Now, Orchid lad, go home and get some rest.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He couldn’t but smile at her, at the faint blush on her high cheekbones.
She snorted again, shaking her head and bringing him to the bus again, by his arm. She got assured he had enough for the ticket, and waved a goodbye as he stood to watch her.
“I’m sorry for the orchids. They were pretty.”
“You were right about them. I’d find you better flowers. If you’d like.”
She laughed again. Masculine and unapologetic.
“You’re so English, asking please and thank you even for flowers!”
“Shouldn’t I do it?”
“Stop it! But no. It’s cute.”
Tom couldn’t reply with anything in time, as the doors of the bus closed between them. All that was left was wave each other goodbye with their end, equally blissful smiles on both faces.
Maybe, after all, Tom shouldn’t give up.
He would have brought a double dose of baklava to Circe. And maybe some tartare to Dionysos. He said he favoured raw meat, after all. He would have apologised to both of them. Maybe fairy tales did come true, after all.

Hello! Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Hercules' myth involves him being mortal before becoming the god of strength. Does this mean humans can ascend to godhood?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy but this ask is fascinating!
Hercules or Heracles (the Greek version of his name) is a demigod.
His mother, Alcmene, is human, while his father is Zeus. He was already part god like Perseus, Bellerophon and Achilles. Hercules was only able to ascend to godhood because he was already halfway there and while humans like Patroclus and Sappho can be possibly venerated as heroes or past ancestors, ancient Greece is very explicit on making sure that any human who ascends to godhood is a demigod, even if they are said to have a human mother and human father, like the story of Theseus whose human father was Aegeus but many myths claim it was actually Poseidon: (LINK)
So, can humans who are not already demigods ascend to godhood? No, according to the ancient Greeks, they can't.
This does not mean people didn't do extraordinary things, it's just that the ancient Greeks assumed whoever did extraordinary things was a demigod. This happened because when people accomplished something extraordinary in ancient Greece, the public considered that person to be someone who went beyond human limitation and thus considered more than human. People started suspecting a god as a possible parent.
Sometimes the person claiming to be a demigod did it for political reasons, like Alexander the Great who claimed to be the son of Zeus. Did people actually believe him? Not until he was able to prove his superhuman ability by creating one of the largest empires in human history at such a young age and in such a short time: (LINK)
Another thing I want to mention is how important ancestry was to the ancient Greeks.
Every Greek person only had one name and sometimes multiple people had the same name. So in order to differentiate between two people with the same name, their "last name" would be the name of their father, for example: "Theseus son of Aegus."
When someone didn't know who the father was, they would go by the mother's name, but if the person did something extraordinary, then people would start claiming they were the illegitimate child of a god (usually Zeus) and they would speculate and make stories about them emphasizing their status as a demigod (this is one of the reasons why there are a lot of stories about Zeus and rape. To the ancient Greeks, rape ment "going behind the father's back" even if the women wanted to be in a union with the god because to the ancient Greeks women did not have autonomy so their father's permission was very important).
Classifying a person who did the impossible as a demigod was very important to the ancient Greeks for a few reasons:
1. It would create the idea that only living demigods can do impossible things and thus disencourage "regular" humans from thinking they can also do that and thus keeping them in line for the politicians in power who ruled every aspect of their lives.
2. It cemented the idea that the gods still interact with their people and future demigods will be bestowed with their blessings and thus their hometowns would also benefit from said blessings.
3. Adding to reason number 2, it was also used for tourism.
4. It kept the honor of both women and children who didn't have a man claiming to be the head of their household and thus allowed the father of the mother to not have a shamed lineage.
5. It was especially used by kings to keep tyrants from taking over and kept civilians from rising against them for fear they would be cursed by their divine parental figure.
6. It was used to explain the unexplainable and as a way to keep people from thinking they could do something without the influence of a god and thus letting it get to their heads as we see in the cautionary tale of Bellerophon who grew impatient with his accomplishments being accredited to his father Poseidon and people assuming it was because he was a demigod and not because of his own efforts. After growing so frustrated over losing so much personal credit, he demanded a place on Olympus because of all he accomplished and was sent a gadfly by Zeus for using pegasus to force his way into Olympus and thus falling to his death after the gadfly bit pegasus who bucked Bellerophon off: (LINK)
WARNING!!!:
The idea that a human can be a god is very dangerous and one often used by toxic cults forcing their will on others. They push the narrative that someone is the reincarnation of Apollo or the child of Zeus and will use that narrative to try to force people to do things they don't want to do because a living "god" told them to do it.
People who believe they are a god are often described as having a "God Complex" (LINK). Not only is having a god complex dangerous to the person and everyone around them, but it's often associated with an extreme form of narcissism (LINK)
Why are god complexes so dangerous? Every human is fallible. We make mistakes and we grow and learn from those mistakes when we admit to them. People who have god complexes usually believe they are so perfect it's impossible for them to make mistakes so they blame everyone else around them and never take responsibility for themselves. As someone who grew up with very narcissistic adults with god complexes, it's frustrating to be gaslit and blamed for things you never did. They also don't believe in consent or believe they are above needing consent because they are a god and "know better."
If you meet someone claiming to be a god
RUN!
Seriously, run. Everyone has the ability to do and create extraordinary things but people with god complexes do not understand consent or how to respect the will of others because they think they are above other humans. Although I'm not a big fan of Witchtok, here's a little jingle that helps explain more about people with god complexes. (Tw: mentions of violence) (LINK)
Demigods are best left to mythology and storytelling.
They can be very inspiring, but a living "god" is very dangerous because they force their will onto others and are not above intimidation tactics. Here is a list of people who had been worshipped as living gods in the past and this includes Hitler, so you can see why the idea of "living gods" makes me very uncomfortable: (LINK)
These Delphic Maxims address god-complexes:
11) Φρόνει θνητά: Think mortal thoughts.
141) Εὖ πάσχε ὡς θνητός: Do as well as your mortal status permits.
The way that I personally interpret these two maxims is as a reminder that humans are human with human limits. It therefore asks that we not act like a god because that's assuming we no longer see ourselves as human.
It also asks that we not assume we can think like a god because that's over simplifying the way that the gods operate by applying human morals to them when they are beyond our comprehension and know things we'll never know, so they are a lot more complex than we'll ever understand, and assuming we know is to limit the gods.
But overall the main message is to respect the will of others by not thinking you are way better because you are more god-like than they are. EVERY person has the ability to be spiritual and the ability to create in such extraordinary ways that seem almost "god-like" to others but we are still human with human limits.
I personally believe human limits are beautiful and one of the many reasons why the gods are so fascinated with us. The gods get to see what we accomplish with such fragile lives, small limits that are carried by strong wills and big hearts.
I hope this helps!

Why You Should Check Out Athena Complex by Kaisar on Webtoon.
You may be asking? Hey, hey Zesty. What the fuck is Athena Complex. Why are you fixated on it?
Athena Complex is. Complex.
Ok so like Athena has some parental (daddy) issues and projected it onto Poseidon and assumed she was in love with him. Through the sheer power of miscommunication Poseidon gets sentenced to reincarnate into a mortal for like the rest of time because he started a rebellion. Then Athena, who is like. Very much not in any sort of healthy emotional space decides that no she is not mourning him she wants revenge so she disguises herself as a teenage guy (real cisgender of you Athena but like there's also some inferiority complex about her body coming in here) and hunts down Poseidon's reincarnation to take her revenge. Something about breaking his heart through the power of really super good friendship. Adrian, who is Poseidon but not Poseidon since he doesn't remember being Poseidon, is like very confused but kinda just. Rolls with it? There's something about like a curse there but I cannot tell you the specifics of it to save my life.
The first season may be messy and the second season isn't completely perfect either, but it's entertaining.
Other things this series has to offer:
- is this family ok? NO
- the absolute most crack stuff
- really deep emotions in recent chapters (like the second season has an insane quality increase it is worth it)
- totally cishet behaviour (half of it is projection while the other half is like. Kinda right there. Its confusing)
- some really interesting and cool interpretations of the Greek gods I've never really seen before. This is coming from someone who devours Greek Mythology inspired content like I'm a vacuum and it's the little dust particles underneath furniture. For example, Apollo leans WAY more into the medicine god persona. He's more serious and older brother like. They actually treat Hera like she's complex here too. Not in a "forgive her" type of way but in like a "this is why she's like this." Actually, that's all the characters really.
- pomeranian ares (I'm not kidding)
- some really cool metaphors
- world building. Like. A lot. Mostly in the second season.
Is it perfect? Absolutely not. There are many things I wish the series could handle better or completely leave out. Some wording is awkward and I can't tell if it's because of translations or not. But like, that's standard for webtoons. I don’t see many people talking about this series and if I must drag people down into this hyperfixation with me I will.

So I was sleeping and this au happened. Granted this is from a dream, so a lot of it doesn't make sense in retrospect. AA fans hang on until the end.
What I vaguely remember is that due to some reason Than is exiled from the Underworld (much like how Apollo and Hesphaestus were exiled from Olympus). When Than is exiled, they also erase his memories. "Forget him, forget him, forget him! All memories of Zagreus are gone! I curse you, Thanatos. Your love for him will remain. The yearning you would feel to be parted from him will endure. Yet you won’t understand the never-ending ache, won’t comprehend the source of your misery. Should anyone speak to you of Zagreus, you’ll react with anger, then forget the conversation. May you wander on the surface for all eternity and never find salvation."
And for a couple of years, that's what happens. Than wanders the surface with some vague memories. He knows he's the God of Death, he has a family, but he doesn't know why he's banned from the Underworld. And he's restless and feels like he lost something very important to him. That is until one day, Than runs into a mortal.
Zag throws away his immortal body and is reborn on the surface in an effort to find Than. Zag knows the chances are slim, what with Than cursed to not remember him AND Zag also losing his memories once he's reborn. But since this is the only way for Zag to leave the Underworld, he has to make that gamble. By sheer willpower, Zag remembers he has to FIND someone. Growing up, he knows he needs to go look for someone. He doesn't know who, but he knows it's someone important to him. And then cue the two of them finally meeting.
Skip skip skip. Typical things of them falling in love and unlocking each others’ memories. They spend time together as a couple at last, remembering who they are and that they were lovers before Than was exiled from the Underworld. The longing that plagued Than for years finally disappears in Zag’s presence.
But then tragedy strikes when Zag's mortal body dies. As Zag lays dying in Than's arms, he promises him he'll try to find him again. Zag will get reborn as many times as it takes to be with Than. Thanatos just needs to wait for him. Thanatos makes a promise in return that he’ll also try to find Zagreus’ new reincarnation.
.............and so the next life Zag is born into, he becomes Phoenix Wright and Than calls himself Miles Edgeworth in order to blend in with the humans.
I was so thrown off by my dream and the sudden crossover, I burst out laughing and woke myself up. The crossover you never expected looool.
Too bad I woke up, but I totally expect the later half of the au to be about Miles feeling something vaguely familiar about Phoenix, but can’t quite place his finger on it. Is it his true love? But it can’t be......And so it’s a mix of them trying to solve as case together and Phoenix eventually remembering their past lives.

ATHENA COMPLEX (WEBTOON) | REVIEW
aight so i’m sure a lot of people have heard about this comic available on webtoon.. i think it’s getting popular again because it’s just come back after being on break for like 3 years lol,, anyways @greekschist recommended this webtoon to me, and now that i’ve finished season 1, i’m here to share my two cents about it :D
OVERVIEW: Suffering from heartbreak after being rejected by Poseidon, goddess of wisdom, Athena, becomes human to seek revenge... but as a high school boy. There she plots to befriend Poseidon’s reincarnation, Adrian, who doesn’t have the slightest clue about the world of the gods. But will her sweet vengeance be thwarted by other opposing forces, or will her own one-sided love hinder her plans?
RATING: 4/10. it’s a little bit weird,, plenty of creative license used in here. if you like cheesy “rom-com” with a dash of heartbreak and trauma, then this is probably the comic for you <3
AVAILABLE ON: webtoon
spoilers undercut!
THINGS I LIKED:
- character designs!!!!!!! i didn’t like everything, but Poseidon’s design was really awesome.. the blue and gold palette worked wonderfully for him. i also like Metis’, Iolo’s, and Ares’ designs ^-^
- cliffhangers. i think something this webtoon does really well is leaving cliffhangers.. little bits of information are very slowly revealed, but without just giving it to the reader in one go.. i think this helps draw the reader in.
- the art. the opening panels that appear to look like gold, resembling depictions of mythology commonly observed on ancient greek pottery are done so well!!! really breathtaking to see.
- fighting scene are also done marvellously,, even if at times i felt the plot was a little wishy-washy, i continued to read just to see the fighting panels because they’re so gorgeous to look at <3
- interesting take on the original mythology. i really like the idea that Gaia curses all the gods because she’s sick of their fighting and can’t take it anymore. i also liked the way the idea of Athena being the prophesised child was dealt with- it’s something i think about a lot, like, what if Athena actually did have a brother who took over from Zeus.. it’s interesting to think about.
- relating to the previous point, i think it’s a cool idea that perhaps the prophecy will still come true- even though Athena is a girl, and the prophecy tells of a male child, Athena goes around parading as a boy on Earth, so in a sense, the prophecy is still being fulfilled, and that’s pretty clever to me.
- Ares!!!!!!!!!!! i know he’s meant to be a piece of shit, but i really like his character arc,, and i mostly continued to read season 1 because i wanted to know what was happening with Dogres.
- the way that no character seems to be painted in black and white- there is no “absoluteness” in this story- no one’s right and no one’s wrong, there’s just perspectives and experiences. i think it’s easy in mythology to just point fingers, but this webtoon avoids doing that, and i really liked that even the worst of the bullies still have sides that might appeal to the audience.
- Adrian being aware of his water blessing.. manifesting Poseidon’s horse and completely bashing those two hunters of Artemis were probably my favourite scenes.. the art for the action scene is done sooo well
- Ares debut panel where he emerges in a tornado of fire,,, we get it Ares
- Apollo healing Shawn. finally some good fucking news
THINGS THAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
- Athena’s whole motivation. it seemed to me from chapter one itself that Poseidon has only ever approached Athena from a fatherly, or brotherly perspective. it’s fine to feel admiration for people, especially older people, who have become father-like figures,, but the way she’s thrown such a massive temper tantrum just because he said that he didn’t return her love in the way she wanted it... idk... seems awfully spoiled of her (and i’m glad Poseidon said no).
-  - the way that Poseidon looks so godly, and then Zeus looks like blonde nagito komaeda.... i am NOT a fan.
- adding to the previous- Apollo’s design.. people in the webtoon comments were like “apollo senpai notice me” but he looks so average,,,, idk,, i just don’t get it..
- Nike... she’s kind of annoying,,, and she keeps on changing her mind about what she thinks is good for Athena and idk,, probably the top character that gets on my nerves
- the whole plot where Athena was like “oh sibyl i’m actually only talking to adrian because i like you~”... it felt unnecessary and also weird,, especially the episode where she comes home and nike is like “what’s wrong?” and iolo tells her that “Athena has never taken advantage of a human before”... why start now, Athena?????????
- Athena’s muscular design,,, literally NONE of the other titans are depicted with as much muscle as she is so i just don’t quite understand where it came from?? also Poseidon saying “oh i don’t see you as a woman because you wear armour all the time” but like?????? what????? i know that’s the whole point, but i just... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
- Athena not even changing her name when she pretends to be human... why would you not just make it like “Athens” or “Athenian”...
- those two huntresses in the last few episodes of season 1 acting all “badass” and hunting down Adrian,, when in fact they were actually just bullies,, using magic on a literal child who has no idea wtf is going on...
- Artemis and Apollo being so cold to each other
- i hate the way Athena seems to be the only one who “cares” for humanity and even then,, she obviously doesn’t care enough because she’s plotting to absolutely demolish a small human child solely because he just happens to be Poseidon’s incarnation (through no fault of his own)
- i mean,,, how is it that there is NO ONE else who even moderately cares for humanity??? is this not a portrayal of the gods of humanity?

Mingi as a demigod (and your boyfriend)
Tumblr media
Mingi was always a lazy person who found it difficult to be punctual and maintain an orderly lifestyle. However, he always did things well even if he had no idea what he was doing.
And things didn't change when he arrived at Camp Half-Blood, after trying to be killed by a minotaur as he walked back home.
After being claimed by his father, the God of war, Mingi continued with his same attitude as always and, unintentionally, quickly climbed into the hierarchy of his cabin. He was just good at fighting, he was honestly the best, even though he never had any training in the art of war.
He only had fun with Apollo's sons and daughters and yet no one was able to beat him in a battle. The laurel crown was his over a year ago and no one could take it away from him.
But everything changed when you arrived.
"Who is he?" Mingi asked one of his sisters who was observing all the commotion that was forming in the camp due to the arrival of a squad commanded by you.
"He is a roman demigod, one of the leaders of Camp Jupiter, the only child of Bellona the goddess of war, destruction and devastation"
"Uff, it's a very long and intimidating name for a boy. I bet he's not that good"
With determined and somewhat haughty steps, Mingi came towards you with his chin up to ask you to a duel. The warriors under your command looked at each others scared when they heard Mingi challenging you. What did you do? You laughed at him and then completely ignored him.
Or at least that's what Mingi believed because even though it didn't seem like it, you really paid attention to him. At a glance you realized that, after being rejected, that son of Ares made vibrate some swords while walking back to his cabin.
You had a slight suspicion of why that happened but there was only one way to check it.
It was a normal day after a chat with the director of the Greek camp, you were on the banks of the great lake meditating when you felt a familiar sensation in your stomach. Someone was watching you. With a single movement, you unsheathed your sword and threw it towards where your instincts told you.
"If this were a real fight you would already be dead" Your sword was pointed at his forehead as it floated in midair. With a single wave of your hand, your sword turned towards you and came back to its place.
"What... Ho-how did you do that? You... how did you manage to stop it before... and..."
"I didn't stop it, you did" Mingi's eyes widened, looking at you in surprise. "The weapons obey you, they will do whatever you tell them to do. You can even fight with them even if you don't have them in your hands"
"But my brothers cannot do that"
"That is because only a few are blessed with the gifts of their parents. Some children of Apollo can heal, others cannot. They are gifts that have to be used and I am willing to help you, son of Ares, even if it goes against my principles as a descendant of a Roman Goddess "
And that was how Mingi, dumbfounded by the way your tan skin shone in the sun's rays, agreed to train with you.
Things were going well, too well. Mingi was more powerful than you imagined and could follow your strict training without problems.
As the days passed, your stomach felt strange sensations and it wasn't your sixth sense. It was something else.
"Am I in love with a Greek demigod? Oh my Jupiter"
On the other hand, Mingi was totally in love with you. Every cell in his body went into ecstasy every morning when he saw you, he seemed to be flying through the clouds every time he saw you smile and the mere fact of listening to your compliments when he did something right blushed his cheeks.
"He is very cute"
"I think you are the only person in the world who thinks that he is cute. Brother, every time I look at him I feel like a deer being analyzed by its predator. He's scary"
"Yeah, that's one of his many charms. Ahh, he's magnificent"
Tumblr media
Your swords collided, they withdrew and returned to find ways to outdo each other and catch up with their opponent. A slight whistle accompanied the movement of both, indicating the speed of your movements and your location.
"I'm sorry to inform you that this fight will be won by me" Mingi said as his eyes closely followed you.
"Don't sing victory yet, redhead"
Your swords collided again and both of you continued to dance across the training ground in a fight that never seemed likely to end because neither was ready to lose.
You, who at the time were leading the initiative, attacked while Mingi defended himself. He leaped back, accurately moved his hand, and one of his two swords, which he had previously lost in a counterattack against you, shot out at top speed. You barely had enough time to turn around and dodge the attack, consequently your opponent's weapon cut a piece of your purple cloak that was part of your armor.
"Well if this was a real fight you would already be dead" The cold metal of his weapon was leaning against your neck while a silly little smile was drawn on his lips as you stood up slowly. "Can I sing victory now?"
"I don't think so" The smile on his face faded when he saw out of the corner of his eye your great sword, pointed at him in midair. "I think you are dead"
"Yeah, but dead of love for you"
Your eyes widened like saucers and Mingi's hand that didn't hold the sword opened, letting it drop to the ground. His cheeks started to turn deep red like his hair as he tried to look anywhere but you.
Hell, he had screwed up. Surely you were going to reject him, surely you would laugh at...
"In that case... I guess I'm dead too" Before Mingi could understand your answer, your strong arms were around his waist, drawing him towards you. You were so close that you could smell the sweet scent of his cologne, your noses were rubbing against each other and your lips were only a few millimeters apart. "I... I also like you, too much for my liking but I couldn't help it"
Mingi leaned his head forward and kissed you, softly at first, and then with immense passion causing you to cling to him as if there was no tomorrow. His lips were caressing your trembling lips, sending shocks of electricity along your back, causing emotions that you had never thought you were capable of feeling.
Tumblr media
Mingi almost went crazy when you confessed with a blush on your cheeks that he was your first boyfriend. For that reason, you weren't quite sure how to act in certain situations.
Despite being stoic, strict and not very good with words, Mingi knew that you loved him because your actions showed it. For example: the time you were training and it started to rain, without thinking twice you took off your cape to cover Mingi so he wouldn't catch a cold.
HE LOVES PLAYING WITH YOUR LONG HAIR. He could be brushing, stroking, or just playing with it all day.
"Just relax, I'll wash your hair for you"
He is capable of sending a sword flying to anyone who dares to speak ill of you.
"I'd fight the whole world for you and I don't care how cheesy that sounds"
Mingi says and does things on purpose to embarrass you for his own amusement such as calling you by cute nicknames in front of your legion or dancing while he was wearing your golden armor.
You haven't tell the others about your relationship but all the demigods in both camps know that your are a couple.
Gets giggle because of your existence and blushes when you kiss him.
The biggest cuddle bear ever.
When you had to leave Camp Half-Blood to return to Camp Jupiter Mingi did his best to keep you from leaving but, unfortunately, it was your duty and you had to leave. The first night without you he cried because he missed you.
Now, Mingi is only in Camp Half-Blood the summers, the rest of the days he lives in Camp Jupiter with you.
He sleeps on your chest because he says your skin is very soft and warm, he feels calm and protected in your arms.
"You're ridiculously comfortable"
His cellphone password is the date of your birthday and as a wallpaper he has a photo of you smiling after the daughters of Venus combed your hair in a large braid decorated with flowers.
Every summer at Camp Half-Blood, Mingi tells the new demigods how magnificent his boyfriend is, telling them that he is the most powerful person ever born, that perhaps you were the reincarnation of a hero like Hercules. Sometimes just to bother you, he tells you to go to the camp to sign autographs because everyone admires you but not as much as he does.
Worries about your safety 24/7.
"Zeus, I was very worried"
"It was just a reconnaissance mission, baby. There's nothing to worry about"
You never fight, you have a healthy and prosperous relationship, but sometimes when you have had a stressful day you ignore each other unintentionally.
In conclusion, just being with Mingi makes you happy. That redhead, son of Ares, has completely changed your life in a wonderful, magnificent and extraordinary way.

answering witchy questions
Tumblr media
(from @theclosetedwitch)
1. What type of witch are you? - i hate the whole trendy “witch types” thing, but i work with both high and low magick and i work with the Fair Folk and deities and a lot of herbalism.
2. Do you  believe it is wrong to hex? - very little is inherently wrong or right. you need context to decide if it’s moral or not. i don’t do hexes for no reason and i don’t initiate conflict, however if someone has fucked with my friends at all or tried to magickly harm me, you bet your ass that i’m gonna return-to-sender that bitch at the very least. TL;DR i believe in revenge as long as it’s proportionate :)
3. Have you ever hexed anyone? - depends on what you consider a hex. i’ve certainly cast return to sender spells and tripwire spells, but i’ve never done baneful work to someone without them doing something to me first.
4. Which deities do you worship, if any? - i’m a devotee of Aphrodite, and i follow Rhiannon and Morpheus as well. i used to follow Apollo also but the time in my life that he was present for has ended. i work with a few other deities very casually on and off, but those three are the ones i’m worshipping right now.
5. What got you into witchcraft? - the pastor at a church i had to go to was doing a slideshow on “bad religions” and he pointed to a pentacle and said “this is a pentagram, a symbol used by wiccans. and you know what the call themselves? witches. and wizards. or warlocks, actually. witches and warlocks.” obviously, he didn’t know much about wicca or witchcraft but the sheer fact that there were people calling themselves “witches” was enough to pique my interest and i started my research.
basically a christian pastor turned me pagan.
6. What is your favorite moon phase? - i love any time when i can see the moon, but i’m connected to the waning moon for Rhiannon, and the full moon because, idk, it’s pretty? i’m a dyke? unknown.
7.What is your favorite season? - beltane or samhain season
8.Which pagan celebration do you like most? - beltane for me is super happy and rich and beautiful, samhain is the time of year when i’m most connected to my craft, and imbolc season sucks ass but the rituals are really nice.
9.Are you in the broom closet? - to my family, somewhat. i talk about astrology to fuck with them because they’re christians, but i don’t talk about witchcraft or paganism because i’d surely get kicked out or at least punished super heavily.
10. What is your favorite herb to work with? - i’m gonna interpret this as favourite herb/spice, so nutmeg, cloves, juniper berries and chamomile
11. What are your favorite crystals, and why? - to be honest, most crystals i just use for the colour correspondances. i’m not super connected to most crystals but i do love black tourmaline for protection, and then i have some specific crystals that have a lot of meaning for me, like an amethyst point i got from a coven sister for my first imbolc, or a half of a geode that i share with my best friend, or my obsidian worrystone that shows up when i need it.
12. Have you ever had a spell backfire? - i’ve had spells not work, but outright backfire i don’t think so.
13. Do you work skyclad? - no, because of *body image issues* and also i’m cold all the time
14. Are you in a coven? - yes! it’s pretty casual and informal, and there’s not hp/ hps so it’s more of a working group, but coven sounds way better. our coven blog is @circleofpyxis and our instagram is circleofpyxiscoven
15. Do you believe in good and evil? - in individuals, yes. i know that there are inherently evil people. i don’t think that there are any inherently good people, and i think we’re all born neutral, but our actions define where we lie as far as morality.
16.What is the most successful spell you have ever performed? - either a very stupid surface-y spell to get a part i wanted in a play, or a spell to get rid of unwanted romantic feelings.
17. Do you do any divination? - yes!
18. If you do do divination, what kind? - i read futhark runes, dabble in tarot, and scry using fire or water
19. Do you read tarot? - a little
20. If you do, what is your favorite card? - i can’t remember them all off the top of my head but i love the hierophant in my deck
21. Have you ever had any dreams that came true? - i don’t have prophetic dreams, but i have a different sort of brand of metaphysical dream. i’m not sure how to describe it, but i think it’s my spirit guide just watching out for me. for example, i once needed to wake up at 6:30 but forgot to set an alarm, and i had this experience-- it must’ve been a dream-- but it felt like i was awake but my eyes were still closed, and then i heard my mom’s voice saying “it’s time to wake up, you have to go to your meeting” and i opened my eyes (in the dream) and saw my mom. then i woke up for real and no one was there, but the clock read 6:30 exactly.
another time i had a dream where my dad told me that distrokid had updated and i could see how much money i’d made, and then i woke up and distrokid really had updated, which only happens every month at most.
22. Are you in a religion? - i’m still trying to figure out exactly my denomination, but i’m a pagan of celtic and hellenic traditions.
23. Which do you like better: new moon or full moon? - i adore all of the new moon goddesses but i’m sorry, the full moon has my heart.
24. What was the first spell you have ever performed? - it was this really little simple spell for happiness. it was really just an incantation actually, i didn’t use any tools or anything, but it worked so i’m not complaining.
25.Do you believe it is wrong to cast love spells? - if you don’t have the consent of the other individual(s) then yes. otherwise, if you’re just attracting “a good match” or self-love, there’s nothing wrong with that.
26.Have you ever cast a love spell? - self love spells and romance-banishing spells yes.
27. What is your favorite magickal tool? - my peach wood wand that i made myself!
28. Do you like to work during the witching hour (3am ) ? - i do 90% of my workings at midnight or later, so yeah :)
29. Are you a hereditary witch? - nope, it’s just me and my suspiciously-invested-in-crystals-and-astrology sister ;)
30.Do you believe it is possible to be born  witch? - you can be born into a family of witches but it’s not like some people are born witches and no one else can practice. everyone has magick, everyone has power. some people have different intuitive strengths, but everyone has strengths.
31. Do you believe initiation is essential to be a witch? - no. in some religious traditions you need to be initiated (like wicca), but witchcraft is for everyone.
32. Do you have a  familiar? - no
33.What is your spirit animal? - i’m not indigenous so i don’t have one.
34. Which deity or god are you closest to? - my patroness is Aphrodite
35. Thoughts on reincarnation? - i believe in reincarnation but i also want to die and have it be over so it’s complicated jdfhjhfd
36. Current altar setup? - my mabon altar is still up since it’s still technically mabon season but i’m putting up my samhain altar tonight. i also have shrines to Aphrodite and Morpheus on my altar year-round.
37. Feelings and thoughts on Wicca? - i don’t practice, and there are a lot of issues with gardner, but there are issues with people in every religion. i don’t see a problem with wicca or wiccans, it just isn’t my religion.
38. What is your favorite element to work with? - water
39. Do you have a book of shadows? - i have both a BoS and a grimoire
40. Have you ever tried reading runes? - yes! that’s my best method of divination.
41. If so, what is your favorite rune, and why? - THIS IS SO HARD! i have a few. eiwaz, peorth, and ehwaz are some of my faves.
42. Do you believe in casting circles before every spell? - no, i do it for my rituals and sabbat workings, but at least for my practice, with the frequency that i do workings, i simply don’t have time to cast before spells.
43. If so, how do you cast your circles? - i might do a post on this later, but i close/ cast the circle deosil and then open it at the end of a ritual widdershins.
44. Ever tried knot magick? - yes! i use knot magick for a protection anklet i always wear.
45. Have you ever participated in, or watched the Great Rite (ritual sex)? - no. i’m underage and not interested in sex magick anyway.
46. What is your favorite color to work with, in magick? - red and black
46. Which deities do you have altars for? - Aphrodite and Rhiannon.
47. What is your favorite setting which you prefer to practice in? - i only do rituals after dark and i like practicing solitary but i also love practicing with my friends/ covenmates.
48. Do you know how to read palms? - no
49. If so, have you ever read palms, either yourself or others? - no
50. Are you more connected with the masculine, or the feminine? - feminine, but i try to work with a balance
51. Favorite day of the week to practice in? do you even care? - friday but not for any metaphysical reason, just because i’m least stressed then and have the most time.
52. How long have you been practicing? - over two years
53. Which  witchy traditions do you observe? - i celebrate the wheel of the year sabbats, and the esbats, and Rhiannon’s day on march 1st
54. Favorite planet to work with? - Venus
55. Favorite direction  ( est, west, north, south) to work with? - west
56. Favorite number to work with * numerology *? - 64 and 11
57. Do you have a magick wand, and if so, what is it made of? - yes, it’s made from peach wood.
58. Do you prefer the sun or the moon? - moon
59. Pointy hat or no pointy hat? - absoLUTELY pointy hat
60. What is it that you LOVE about witchcraft - i love my deities and i love how comforting my craft is when i feel alone
