no idea if anyhting of the sort has been asked before but i was wondering mostly based off my past experiences
would bill be the kind of guy who is just Very Aware of like . sensations in his body and have it lead to shit like having a problem with chewing off old skin and stuff. In the sense that oh crud its just a Smidgen of old skin peeling off it's going INTO the Chomper or just out of boredom because He Can Do That

I think Bill is really aware of body sensations, but the sensations he is/isn't aware of have really low correlation to what a human who's overly aware of body sensations would be aware of. Like, this is the guy who's violently nauseous trying to comb his hair but who mixes mustard with maple syrup.
You and I have an idea of what our body should look like when it's Right—when our skin is whole and healthy and smooth, when our nails are cut correctly. If a little flake of skin is peeling off, if we have a hangnail, if there's a tear or a bump or a ridge that shouldn't be there, we know that's a Little Bit Wrong, and for some people that Little Bit Wrongness gets really really irritating until they remove it.
Bill doesn't have an internal conception of a Right human body. For him there's no such thing as a Right body that's human. You can't pick/chew at individual flaws when you perceive everything as one unending flaw. A human body is all skin flakes upon skin flakes, dead cells waiting to peel and slough free, odd little bumps and ridges and pores and wrinkles and folds... He could exfoliate his entire body down to the bone and then he'd find fault with the bone's texture.

... is it any easier to see them in the image above? Even knowing what you should be looking for, you have to hunt for them. It takes hard focus to see the yellow dots separately from their neighbors in all that noise. You'll never find all of them unless you zoom in and go pixel by pixel. They just don't stand out. And still nothing about the yellow dots really feels "wrong" to us on an instinctive, visceral level. And if you do take out all the "wrong" yellow dots—do you know which color you're supposed to fill in instead? Even knowing what's wrong isn't enough for you to figure out what's right!
That's what flaws on human skin are like to Bill. It's nonsense on a plane of more nonsense. He's still grappling with the fact that he's bones slathered in meat rather than pure energy under a foil-thin shell of electrified gold. He is NOT in an emotional place to even NOTICE a hangnail.
When his skin starts to bother him, he's less likely to pick at little bits of it and more likely to be fighting the urge to claw it clean off.
He's more often bothered by things like the sound/feeling of his own breathing and choose to stop it for a few seconds just to get some GODDAMN PEACE AND QUIET FOR ONCE before reluctantly starting to breathe again because he knows he has to, ugh. Sometimes he moves his arms and is conscious of ribs under his chest. Sometimes he turns his head instead of his whole torso and gets a queasy sensation from being reminded he has a spine rather than a hard exoskeleton. He still sticks food in his eye when he's distracted and he's uncomfortable that he can't see his food inside his mouth. THAT'S the level of "bothered by bodily sensations" he's on.
(However: if he gets a cut/scrape, he definitely licks the blood off. He's the specific kind of weirdo that fits the "licks his own blood as a deliberate conscious thing" archetype. You know the type. Adolescent pseudo-goths keen to develop morbid fascinations.)

He hey! We're not "back" into Danny Phantom, this is the first time we enjoy it, we didn't know about this show before!
But finally we discovered it, and, of course, its infinite worldbuilding opportunities! Y'know, we ourselves are a bit like the Fentons: we like to research about ghosts. To study and to create.
What do we think about the way ectoplasm affects the rest of the Fentons? Hmm... let's see...
Today we talk about:
ECTOCONTAMINATION

Ectocontamination is defined as the "fusion" between organic materials and ectoplasm. Generally, ectocontamination occurs due to prolonged contact, but there may be other causes, including forced ectocontamination.
Etiology
Ectocontamination in humans manifests itself in the form of a prolonged syndrome, which depending on the resistance of the subject's body can develop different symptoms.
Ectoplasm does not normally tend towards a natural connection with living tissues, being the solidification on the material plane of the body of spirits, and therefore being connected to them; however, there is some non-encoded ectoplasm (not part of a living spirit, long incapable of self-replicating and without information within it), usually leftovers from the meals of large spirits or simply material detached from the original creature through fault of mechanical damage: it is this non-codified ectoplasm that can "attach" to the bodies of living beings, accumulating in them and modifying their characteristics. In low-density tissues (such as adipose tissue), ectoplasm can accumulate in large quantities more easily, saturating the space between cells, while it is more difficult for it to accumulate in bones and cartilage. The brain (and in general the entire area inside the skull and filled with cerebrospinal fluid) is particularly sensitive to the accumulation of ectoplasm.
Ectocontamination is not contagious and only affects living beings that have been directly exposed to non-coded ectoplasm for a long time. Typically, it takes three to seven years to start showing symptoms of ectocontamination.
(So, yeah, this is the case for the Fenton family!)
Clinic
The exposure period necessary to develop ectocontamination varies from 3 to 7 years, provided that the amount of ectoplasm with which the body comes into contact exceeds an individual's natural tolerance threshold.
The tolerance threshold is different from person to person, and varies from a few micrograms per day up to almost half a kilo of ectoplasm. The most sensitive individuals develop the symptoms of ectocontamination just by regularly touching spirits with bare skin, absorbing the ectoplasm that these creatures sometimes lose naturally; however, this is an extremely rare occurrence: such sensitivity affects less than 0.3% of the population.
The syndrome normally begins with a maculopapular skin rash, accompanied by moderate fever, itching, general malaise, sometimes with headache, asthenia, loss of appetite. The main characteristic of the skin picture is the complete asynchrony of the lesions. In fact, several lesions are often found in various developmental stages, identifying the so-called "starry sky effect".
Although this is the most common onset of symptoms, they are not always present: sometimes contaminated people never develop a skin rash, itching or fever.
After the first phase of ectocontamination, the one in which effects similar to a skin disease are visible, the body seems to recover from the latter, but begins to show a series of symptoms that are often defined as "supernatural".
Signs and symptoms
An adult ectocontaminated individual, in whom ectoplasm has become established within the body, will exhibit a variety of symptoms unique to the individual, which may include:
Superior physical strength: the presence of ectoplasm between the fibers increases its performance, two to seven times compared to that of a normal human being. The density of the muscle, thanks to the infracellular presence of the ectoplasmic material, appears to be much higher than the occupied mass.
Obsession: due to the neo-coding (or para-coding) of the ectoplasm, which interacts directly with the nervous system of the host body, the ectocontaminated individual develops a typical characteristic of lemurs and other spirits, namely specific obsession or "purpose". The obsession becomes the first and most important thought of the individual, who focuses on it and tends to get bored easily when the topic is not being talked about. Humans with superior willpower can tone down this symptom, but the thought of obsession still remains with them always.
Resistance to Spirit Possession: Since the body of ectocontaminated individuals is already partially saturated with ectoplasm, it is much more difficult for a spirit to possess it.
Resistance to Mind Control: The brains of ectocontaminated people are modified by neo-coding and often work synergically with ectoplasm; Because of this, a normal psychic attack cannot hit him, because it targets a normal human brain, which has completely different neural connections.
Sensitivity to light: The retina of ectocontaminated individuals is particularly sensitive to sunlight. Often, these individuals wear sunglasses (or other protective devices) even when they are inside buildings. If their eyes are subjected to sunlight during the brightest hours of the day, ectocontaminated people tend to behave in a confused manner, like nocturnal animals awakened by a headlight. Although it is less common, it is possible to develop a skin sensitivity to light, which leads the person to cover themselves completely, from the neck to the shoes.
Depigmentation: The skin, mucous membranes and irises of an ectocontaminated individual may lose melanin, leaving the individual with a "ghostly" and washed-out appearance. This can unfortunately lead to a number of medical complications, such as reduced visual acuity.
So:
Maddie developed superior physical strength, resistance to mind control/spirit possession (we never see her overshadowed by a ghost!) and sensitivity to light (she often wears shaded goggles, even indoor).
Jack developed superior physical strength, an obsession (he's absolutely obsessed with ghosts, he doesn't really care about anything else), a slight resistence to spirit possession (we see him resisting Vlad's overshadowing, not completely, but enough to have the time to warn Maddie), and a partial sensitivity to light (in particular his skin, which must always be covered by the jumpsuit).
Jazz developed an obsession (for psychology, not extreme as the obsession that her dad has for ghosts, but a symptom none the less), and a light resistance to spirit possession. She was less exposed to ectoplasm than her parents. But it doesn't mean that she won't show other symptoms in the future!
And Danny, as we all know, is an half-ghost... that probably is an extra stage of the "normal" ectocontamination. But this is not the place to talk about it ;)

Splitting up Team 7....Let's get into it
Disclaimer❗️: I'm not trying to dog on anyone who makes alternate team headcanons for fun. I have my own thoughts ofc, but as long as you're truly not hurting anyone, it's not that deep. I'm sharing my thoughts on this since I've seen this take a few times over the years, but do with it what you will!

Tbh, it baffles me when ppl say that Sakura (bc that's usually who's removed from the team in these takes) or anyone else on Team 7 would've had better development if they were assigned to a different team. I think people fail to consider that Team 7’s close, consistent proximity and becoming teammates was one of the key reasons why they were able to get past their initial impressions of each other and form a deep bond.
This is only one example, but as far as we know, no other team went on any dangerous missions like Team 7 did to the Land of Waves. Granted, that was an outlier since that mission was supposed to be a C rank; however, it was vital to their individual growth. It shaped their perceptions of each other as teammates and of the shinobi world as a whole. If Sakura, Sasuke, and/or Naruto were placed on a different team (assuming little-to-nothing else was changed in the series), I'd deem it unlikely that they would've grown to be the shinobi they became, although not as quickly.
If you want, you can view this through the lense of recent media, particularly the YA genre. There are many reasons why they tend to be set in middle/high school (though I think that's starting to change and expand, thank goodness), one of them being the outcomes of forced, consistent proximity.
The characters are placed in an environment where they're (more often than not) forced to interact; it's not like college or other settings where you can simply leave if you don't want to be there, especially without it being fair to others in your group. While it’s ultimately up to them to choose whether or not they want to become more than acquaintances with their classmate(s), their relationship has a higher chance of forming due to being consistently around each other.
The same applies to Team 7 and honestly, the other Rookie 9 teams. They were all placed on their teams- a learning and training environment with forced, consistent proximity- for a reason. Ino-Shika-Cho being placed together since they're THEE Ino-Shika-Cho trio (if any sensei had messed that iconic trio up....bless their hearts fr), and Team 8 all being trackers.
For Team 7, it was also so they could all learn and benefit from each other in some way. Naruto could benefit from Sasuke’s proficiency in ninjutsu, Sakura's intelligence, and both of their calmer personalities(give or take with Sakura) seeing as he got the lowest marks at the academy and misbehaved a lot. Sasuke could benefit from Naruto and Sakura's social and outgoing personalities seeing as he got low scores in cooperation and teamwork.
While Sakura performed well in her academics, she slacked greatly in anything pertaining to using physical strength. She could benefit from Sasuke and Naruto's taijutsu and battle skills seeing as she got low marks in taijutsu.
I think it's also worth noting that Sakura is a balance of their personalities while having her own. While she's not always on 10 like Naruto was, she was able to be social and upbeat and like him. She wasn't emotionally cold or nonchalant like Sasuke, but she was able to match his calmer "think first, act later" demeanor. Ofc, they've all had their moments and didn't act the same way all the time. I love that Team 7 can share one brain cell at times, lol.
As I said in the preface, I'm not trying to down anyone making alternate team headcanons for fun. That being said, it's just odd to me that people claim that placing them on different teams would suddenly "fix" their characters. Becoming a team was an integral part of their characterization, with each of them serving a unique purpose in one another’s growth. (This includes Sai too, though that may be a convo for another day.)
Like the title says, this was a starting "Let's get into it" post. I have more specific thoughts on this take, but these are my initial thoughts for now :).

everytime i talk to my prison phd friend i learn the most fascinating and horrifying things about prison and criminalization.
i absolutely cannot share the gossip i heard last night, but she was in town recently and i got the low down on philly's Eastern State Penitentiary, an important historic prison. the long and short of it is that it was the most expensive, utopian architecture panopticon prison whose ideals were reformist and noble and whose execution was extremely deadly and horrible.

first of all, they do haunted houses here which you should never go on because it is morally bankrupt to participate in prison site entertainment, and there's also an insane amount of lead paint and other hazards. like the regular tour guides are not working in safe conditions. don't touch anything. don't get your halloween spooky hard on at a site of mass torture and murder.
with that out of the way, look at this blueprint. the guard post is in the center, which allows them to look down any block and see everything. panopticon shit. you can also see that every cell has an individual courtyard.
this was the ideal design. in the ideal system, a prisoner would be brought in through the entry hall, meet the warden, have a bag placed over their head and be brought to their cell, after which point the only people they would see during their sentence was a daily visit from the warden and weekly visit by a doctor and a priest. they were also expected to never speak.
so you have your cell, an attached courtyard you can use anytime to go outside (and garden in or keep pets if you wanted), a manual labor task, and a lot of social isolation. the idea was to create an environment where the prisoner could contemplate their crimes and be penitent. (hence, penitentiary.) the prevalent idea at the time was that crime was a social contagion, so prisoners who socialized together might spread it amongst themselves. but here, there's just ample opportunity for self reflection. you weren't allowed to speak as to not disturb the other prisoners' reform.

they put hoods on the prisoners during transfers *and* anonymised their names in records so that no one on the outside would know they had been to prison and attach stigma to them.

so the idea was honestly very dope, especially compared to the Alburn/New York system.
however, the masterminds behind this system did not know that social isolation is deadly to humans. which led to some other prisons adapting *part* of the system to extremely lethal results.
but that wasn't totally the problem with this prison. while the ideal system had goodish intentions, its actual implementation was very different. prisoners were not socially isolated to that degree (good!) and were punished and tortured by guards and counselors (very very bad!). you can see the degradation of the original plan through the architecture over the years.

theres honestly so much that is fascinating here, even just in the architecture. they built the halls to feel like churches! the cells were supposed to have one skylight because "god was always watching"! they used mirrors to surveil the various angles and corridors! the cell doors might have been so small because they wanted prisoners to bow before entering and exiting! fascinating stuff.
there's a ton of history here and if you have the chance you should take the tour. just don't touch anything. because of the lead.

Saw that poll you rbed and now I really want to know your take on feral ghouls 👀
OKAY. SO!!
TL;DR: ghouls have to go through additional radioactive, ghoul-specific processes in order to become feral, and it isn't inevitable that every ghoul will eventually become feral.
I'm putting this under a read more since it's a lot.
My take on feral ghouls is that it’s a combination of genetic factors + FEV involvement, and that ghouls don’t become feral just from cognitive degeneration over time. I absolutely refuse to believe that every ghoul will inevitably become feral, but everyone has a limit to how much radiation they can actually handle before things start getting weird. This limit is heavily dependent on the person - many people have a low natural tolerance and just die from radiation poisoning. Some people, specifically those who have previously been exposed to low amounts of FEV along with having various genetic factors that increase their ability to tolerate radiation, are able to survive the initial radiation poisoning and become ghouls. The whole ghoulification process varies based on overall radiation exposure - the people that took significant radiation damage in one instance(like what you’d see with a nuclear blast, for example) will go through ghoulification quickly and will become full ghouls without requiring additional radiation, while those that have low dose exposure will progress through it slower and require additional radiation exposure in order to become full ghouls.
So ghouls obviously are resistant to rad damage, but there’s a limit to how much radiation they can handle before it overtakes their ability to heal from it. This varies widely by individual and it’s more of a per-exposure or multiple instances of exposure in a very short period of time rather than just a set amount that they could hit at any time. Some ghouls have a low tolerance and will go feral while going through ghoulification or shortly afterwards, while others have extremely high tolerances and can develop various mutations(glowing ones, F76-type mutations, etc) while retaining cognition. The amount and type of FEV exposure that they’ve had comes into play here, with some strains + exposure methods making them more predisposed to becoming feral while others can increase their ability to process radiation making them less likely to become feral. 
When they do eventually hit their limit, the radiation affects them pretty much like it does with non-mutated humans; skin damage and burns, cell degeneration, widespread hemorrhage, etc. If we’re getting into specifics, I personally think that it’d be a combination of myelin sheath degeneration + severe frontal and temporal lobe damage that’d result in ghouls becoming feral. Obviously the whole brain + spinal cord would be affected but that specific combination from my unprofessional medical viewpoint would probably result in the kind of behaviors typically seen in feral ghouls. This would also explain the various types of feral ghouls, and specifically the leveled ones with more extreme damage/mutations like charred, bloated, rotting, putrid, withered, etc.
I do also think that the “ghouls/people who died and came back worse, possibly revived by radiation” option from that post is a really interesting take and that’s something I’m probably going to be tossing around for a while. Bethesda did establish in that some leveled feral ghouls are capable of reviving other feral ghouls with radiation blasts, so why wouldn’t that apply to dead non-feral ghouls as well? I don’t think this would be a common method just due to the fact that it’d require a leveled feral ghoul to put out a radiation blast within range of a viable non-feral corpse, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible. At the very least it’d be some really interesting storytelling if, per say, you’re working with someone going through ghoulification and still coming to terms with it and they just happen to witness that scenario and it unlocks a brand new fear that they had no idea even existed up until that moment.

“You steer your car down your usual route in a largely automatic way, without having to pay deliberate attention to the steering wheel, the subtle movements of your feet on the pedals, or the ever-changing traffic conditions around you.
Yet if you encounter a sudden cognitive challenge, such as an unexpected road closure, you are quickly able to shift gears, identifying a new route home via a side street that you rarely use.
This kind of shift toward more deliberate thinking happens in a variety of different situations: for instance, when you have to carefully search for the solution to an especially tricky crossword clue, or think of a new way to frame an argument to change a stubborn friend’s mind.
How the brain balances between the cognitive modes involved in these scenarios – relatively automatic processing and more deliberate processing – remains poorly understood, which suggests we need new ways of thinking about it. (…)
My collaborators and I found a new way to tackle both the serotonin and cognitive-mode problems.
We started from an interesting fact: more than 95 per cent of the serotonin in the body is actually used by the gastrointestinal tract.
Serotonin released in the gut controls peristalsis, the involuntary muscle movement that pushes along the contents of the digestive system.
So, we wondered: what if we use the gastrointestinal system as an analogy for how the brain uses serotonin?
Instead of digesting (ie, processing) food, what if serotonin was being used by our brains to digest information – that is, to process information flow between the distributed circuits of neurons required to identify, decide and act? (…)
Through these processes, serotonin helps the brain continue with an automatic or habitual approach to a situation when that seems to be working well.
This is analogous to digestion: if the food you eat can be broken down easily, serotonin will help to ease its passage through the typical digestive process.
Sometimes, however, the in-built approach fails. Maybe the mug is oddly shaped, or turned away from the easy reach of your grasp. Or, going back to the driving example, your usual route home is closed off.
In these instances, excitatory 5-HT2A receptors in the cortex are poised to take over.
These receptors – which are activated by serotonin – coat excitatory pyramidal cells in the cortex and boost context-specific inputs to the cells.
In this way, serotonin increases the range of different cortical cells that can be used to solve the problem at hand – eg, to figure out a way to grasp the mug or to make your way home. This idea maps on to the situation in the gut.
If there is a blockage (perhaps caused by overindulgence at a fondue party), then the gut can turn up the peristalsis to deal with it.
We envision an analogous situation with cognitive problems: if there is a blockage (eg, your initial approach doesn’t work), then you need to create new options for solving the problem. (…)

Iron, a vital mineral, plays a pivotal role in maintaining our overall health and vitality. It’s an essential component of hemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body including the brain and muscles. Iron also plays a role in converting sugar to energy, boosting the immune system, aiding in cognitive function, and supporting healthy skin, hair, and nails.
Iron deficiency is a prevalent condition that can lead to a whole host of symptoms. Some of these symptoms are well known – heart palpitations, fatigue, weakened immunity, shortness of breath and weakness. Other symptoms can include anxiety and low mood, restless leg syndrome, and cognitive changes. There are so many factors that contribute to our health, but it is important to make sure that nutrient deficiencies are not contributing to your overall symptom picture. Iron deficiency is a big one to watch out for especially in menstruating individuals. Blood testing for a CBC and ferritin are easy and affordable and should always be part of your routine examination.
Causes
Iron deficiency can arise from several factors including inadequate dietary intake, poor absorption, increased demand during growth or pregnancy, blood loss such as menstruation, or genetic causes.
Sometimes we struggle to get enough iron in the diet – maybe it is due to dietary restrictions or just a busy schedule; this combined with inadequate absorption can make it challenging to maintain the levels of iron that the body needs. GI absorption can be affected by a number a factors – SIBO, leaky gut, gut inflammation, IBD, IBS, stress (the list goes on)! Working on gut health is always a priority for laying a strong foundation for health, but this can take time and sometimes we need to shift our treatment approaches to best support the immediate needs.
Blood loss from menstruation is a major contributor to iron deficiency in women. It can feel like an uphill battle to build up iron stores with oral supplements and unfortunately the body will tend to have heavier periods of bleeding when we are low in iron! Additionally, some individuals may inherit traits that make them more prone to iron deficiency making it even more challenging to maintain the iron that your body needs.
Treatments
Oral iron supplementation is a necessary part of ongoing treatment for many. Oral Iron comes in a wide variety of forms and the main side effect reported with use is digestive upset, namely constipation. Vitamin C can help to offset this effect as it is a natural laxative and Vitamin C additionally helps iron to absorb.
The bisglycenate form is known for being the gentlest and least likely to have this effect, though some find that a plant-based iron is the only thing they can tolerate orally. Most find that if they split their dose up and take it throughout the day, the side effects are much more tolerable. It is best to talk with your physician to decide with option and dosing is best for you and your body.
B12 and Folate are crucial co-factors for red blood cell production so having adequate B vitamin supplementation is important in support iron deficiency and anemia as well.
Dietary Considerations
Foods high in iron include red meats (beef, lamb, pork), poultry, fish and shellfish, eggs, nuts, dried fruit, whole-meal pasta and bread, iron-fortified cereal, legumes (black beans, lentils, chickpeas), dark leafy green vegetables (spinach, broccoli), oats, tofu.
Vitamin C aids absorption (such as the supplement, or foods rich in Vitamin C, such as: apples, pomegranates, oranges, orange juice, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapefruit, kiwi and other Vitamin-C rich foods).
Cook in a cast-iron skillet, pots or pans to add extra iron to your food.
AVOID at the time of iron supplementation as these things that reduce the absorption: Dairy, calcium supplements, black tea, nuts, soda, chocolate, coffee.

Insurance companies are variable in whether they will cover an iron infusion. Typically, they will only cover these through a specialist, called a Hematologist, often within Oncology Departments. There are specific cut offs for ferritin and CBC parameters for insurance to cover these treatments, but people are often significantly symptomatic well before labs will reflect cuts offs for insurance coverage. The Painful Indian education system and corrective measures
Education plays a vital role in human lives. It helps in the growth of an individual’s knowledge and intelligence. India is one of the oldest countries that gave the world some vital concepts that changed the roadmap of research in the field of Mathematics and Physics. The ancient Indian civilization was so rich with the knowledge that those ancient concepts are valid even today in modern science. But in spite of all this, our country is still a follower of the developed nations and we lag behind in education. Some of our best minds in the country choose to serve western countries. We prefer to do our specialization in a particular subject abroad.
There are a number of reasons behind this. Today, India is one of the biggest pool of talent in the world, We get well-trained engineers, graduates and professionals. I am calling them “well trained”, but not “well educated”. This is where we lack. Currently, the Indian education system is at its low in terms of producing quality graduates. We have been producing nearly 3.5 Crore graduates every year from various universities, of which more than half remain unemployed after passing out. The sole reason behind this is the misalignment between what our education system offers and what the job industry demands. Unfortunately, our education system does not help a graduate become employable.
What are the major problems with our current education system?
1)  It’s all about theory – Just check out the volume of the syllabus our students have to deal with starting from their high school up to their post-graduation. Rather than focusing on teaching strong concepts, our education system takes pride in introducing thick books that make students fill their brains with only theoretical knowledge.   
2)  It’s all about memory – If you notice amongst the best students in the colleges or universities, the layer of toppers will have one thing in common and that is- Memory. To get a high score you have to train your mind to retain as much content as possible one day before the exam and then pour it all into the exam paper. And after a week, it would feel difficult to recall everything.
3)  Creativity is not encouraged – The way our education system is designed, students are not allowed to experiment with the concepts and making mistakes is not encouraged. We have predefined concepts that a student will go through and learn with the minimal scope of trying new ways. When there is no practicality taught in the subjects especially while teaching concepts of Calculus, Trigonometry and Linear equations, creativity dies a slow death somewhere.
4)  It’s all about scoring centum – We have seen an increased number of students every year who score cent percent marks. But what about those who scored first class? Are they not good enough? Did our education system ever think of teaching us how to deal with failures? The answer is a big NO. That deficit where a student lacks interest in a subject is never given any attention, rather it is received negatively.
5)  Lack of counselling – Every school in India needs a student counsellor. With the advancement in communication, social media, cell phones etc,  student life has got affected really hard. Lack of physical activity, outbursts of emotions, dealing with toxicity, fear of rejection and anxiety are prime problems these days for every student. Is our education system even close to addressing this?
6)  Poor personality development – We all get to hear in our graduation and high school that fluent English speaking is most important for anyone who is educated. Is only speaking good English the proof of good communication skills and personality? Absolutely NO. It takes a lot more. It starts with the basics of valuing yourself and self-love. The feeling of being happy with what we have, and possess the hunger to achieve excellence. What the system needs to impart is the basic principles of developing ourselves into a good human being. Rather than imparting the idea of chasing good marks, an individual should be taught to have a good body language, celebrate life, chase passion and help each other.
The exposure of the current generations to the latest technologies and advancements, we see that, on one hand kids, are now gizmo and gadget freaks, and on the other hand their morals are nowhere. They are not grounded by morals anymore. Their thinking process has taken such a beating, that their ability to differentiate between right and wrong is jeopardized.
What does a good education system look like?
The education system should be of high priority to the government first. We have to work sincerely towards restructuring the whole education system in India, right from syllabus, quality material, faculty members, imparting practical sessions and finally teaching students that failure is not an end but just a stepping stone towards success.
Below are some steps of improvement that needs to be considered:
1)  Manners before anything else (Age group 4 yrs – 7 yrs)- The years spent in Kinder Garten must be well utilized in teaching kids the basic manners of socializing, familiarizing with different cultures, self-care basics, imparting right food habits, physical activity, and bringing out creativity. Every child has a hidden talent that needs to come out to the world. 
2)  Scrap the ranking system for primary classes – There must be no ranking or evaluation system throughout primary classes, and emphasis should be on laying strong foundation of learning basics of language (native language & English), other culture & Analytical concepts. There must be encouragement towards activities that encourage creativity and outdoor sports. It makes a kid physically strong & immune. They take learning as fun and not as a compulsion. 
3)  A strong academic learning in Secondary classes – As students move to secondary class there must be a strong emphasis on strengthening the subjects like Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social studies and everyday sports activities. This is because, the mind of a human being at this age is most receptive and the concepts learnt at this age stays in their subconscious for lifetime. 
4)  Specialization should be introduced before matriculation and continue till the end of Senior secondary school – A student must be given the liberty to choose his specialization of Science, Commerce or Arts much before his intermediate. With the followed procedure till his secondary classes, a student would have realized his true potential and he can select the right specialization. The idea of reading at least two books other than syllabus must be made mandatory. Counselling on Adult Education must be made mandatory in schools. 
5)  Graduation must be theory backed by practical knowledge (50:50) – Graduation must be in association with the current corporate industry.  The syllabus needs to be revised with the changing trends. The concepts, lessons and ideas must be learnt in class and practical classes must be driven by the corporate industry. The evaluation of the students must be done only on the basis of the performance in the practical sessions.
Conclusion:- Implementation of these measures will get us a streamlined education system that will produce graduates who are more sharp, competitive and most importantly “employable”. The cost of education will come down considerably. We would be seeing young, dynamic and energetic who are “well educated” in real terms. They will be employable even before completion of their Graduation. This will also encourage entrepreneurship. We will have individuals who are now more confident, emotionally strong and have sound leadership skills, unlike the deceived lot we face today.
