They don’t tell you this but if you Like Characters and Story then you will start to see your own emotional flaws and weaknesses if only because they can be common and depicted in media often to the point of being stereotypical. You’ll be screaming at the screen about how Character can’t seem to figure it out and then one day you’ll wake up and realize you’ve been Character all along and you didn’t figure it out

legit the scene in Capsule Monsters where the millennium ring glows and then hops off of Alexander The Great of its own accord and rolls out the door is fantastic to me. For so many reasons.

The fact that the anime has already established that in this canon the ring has magical teleportation powers, but it decides to physically roll its way out anyway, because YB wanted to make a point I guess

One has to wonder how far he got on those little pendulums

Alternatively we've really only seen the anime ring teleport to a host, not away, so it's possible that he has to roll himself physically because teleporting will always send him back to Alexander. which is hilarious. fucked up his save point

The fact that the anime goes out of its way to make the ring the center of Alexander The Great Lore without mentioning Yami Bakura once. He had to have been in the ring but Alexander doesn't even seem to be aware of his existence. His decision to go "forget this, I'm OUT" is the only evidence we have that he didn't sleep through the whole thing

The fact that the ring is the center of Alexander The Great Lore but the ring isn't even physically present outside flashbacks because (since the anime writers deleted the manga scene where Bakura recovers it after Battle City) it's currently in a duffel bag in Yugi's bedroom on another continent.

Bakura didn't go on this trip, even. They did not invite him

So both of the Alexander ghosts are also in the magic pyramid so we don't even need it here. totally irrelevant. so like, why is the ring being involved at all. why are we doing any of this

questions I assume Yami Bakura asked himself and then decided that he had a 100% unbroken streak of Not Appearing In Filler Arcs and he wasn't going to fuck it up now with whatever this was

So he just goes "bye losers" and promptly deletes himself from the narrative

Thank you about the YB quote. Swifties are really showing their elitism and classicism by using working in a shop is an insult or using yb like a slur. Also with the poor unemployed joke when he is obviously not and even if he is, we shouldn’t make fun of it.

Swifties be like “Taylor is sooooooo nice for donating so much money to food banks (which are largely frequented by unemployed people) and caring about the issue of hunger!!!” and then they’ll be like “LOL Joe is a JOBLESS UNEMPLOYED PATHETIC LOSER!!!”.

And before anyone comes at me saying “he’s not literally jobless! We’re not being classist!”… the language you’re using is classist. Calling someone jobless as an insult is fucking classist. Making fun of someone for working in a yoghurt shop is fucking classist.

OKAY OKAY OKAY... Let's get it on!!!! (ty for this lol) Sorry my first part of this is just propaganda for them then I'll do headcanons <3.

So the first thing here that I find fascinating is that despite the fact we get to see Ryou and Atem interact very little in canon, what we do see establishes that Atem is very very very worried about Ryou and genuinely does want to take care of him (see: the shadow duel between yb and yy on the KaibaCorp blimp aftermath). Also bonus fact: Atem cradles Ryou after the fight in the exact same way Anzu (who expresses a canonical romantic and at least very strong platonic interest in Atem) does with him a few hours later with Yami Marik's shadow game, so take from that what you will.

Second of all, as I have mentioned before, I do think they would have this interesting dynamic where Ryou really wants A) a fantasy world, B) a lack of responsibility, and C) someone to be his friend for Ever and Ever (said slightly threateningly), and Atem A) is basically a fantasy trope come to life that promises Grand Adventure, B) is willing to take responsibility for Literally Anything ever, including things that are not his fault, and C) wants to take care of all his friends and collects people who like him like keychain charms. So already you have that particular dynamic with potential for chemistry going on, and it could either go Bad (mutually destructive flaws that they mistake for working well together), Good (helps pull each other out of their respectively Very Bad situations), or a secret third thing (lifelong mutual obsession that keeps them alive and well but also very codependent.) Lots of stuff going on there already.

But I digress, you wanted headcanons. So!

It did Not start with the rescue romance fantasy on Ryou's part. Ryou was very grateful and all for the help Yami Yugi provided with the whole "killer monster world" thing, but ultimately considered it a group effort on the part of his new friends.

By contrast it Absolutely started with the rescue romance fantasy with Atem. He did not realize it at the time because he is Out Of Touch with his emotions but it most certainly started with seeing someone so very much like his dear partner stuck in a terrible situation that he really wants to help with but can't stay to monitor all the time. However it did not progress further until:

Ryou got interested when he heard/figured out Atem was a ghost/spirit. You mean there are Other Ghosts in the world? That do not try to make my life miserable and call me a loser when I'm trying to do my homework? Thats so cool!

I think in contrast to Yugi - who considers Atem's more "creepy" qualities useful but also slightly worrying - and most of his other friends - who consider these qualities actively disturbing and try to ignore them (Anzu "Shadow Games are hot" Mazaki notwithstanding) - Ryou is very much Into It. He is obsessed with how shadow games work. What do you mean you can just summon psychic fire out of thin air but only if the game demands it??? Thats amazing. Do you want to get married (said in that characteristically Ambiguously Joking Ryou voice)

So it is also a very new feeling to Atem of not having to worry about showing off those qualities, and you know, it's kind of nice to have someone appreciate your more freaky qualities! But also he is simultaneously repressing them around Ryou because they remind him of how uncomfortably close he seems to acting like the Spirit of the Ring at times, which then adds another layer of Worry onto his relationship to Ryou

I got off topic again didn't I

Anyways Ryou is constantly playing Supernatural (Deconstructed Mix) by kesha in the bg whenever Atem is there

Atem is Panicking and Dying to try and figure out how to send a gift that sufficiently states "Sorry I had to Run Your Body Over With the Power of God Do You Still Like Me" without seeming too desperate

Ryou is obsessed with the mysterious demon and doesn't know the mysterious demon is actually his guardian angel

I think Atem is willing to sit through So Many bad horror movies for Ryou's sake but he does actually really love Monster World

They are going on a dinner date where Ryou introduces Atem to all the pastries he missed out on since Ancient Egyptian times, including that wonderful concoction known as chocolate

I don't know if this is what you wanted but

I'm in love with them esp the idea of Millennium Item swap au's aughahah

I need to see more of their canon interactions I'm dying here

Can we talk about how most of the famous woman musicians struggle to find a partner who is not insecure. I was a casual fan of Adele for years but got really into her music last year after seeing her live. Her husband Rich is worst than YB. Adele is so witty, smart and lovely but she settled for someone who wouldn't even acknowledge her as wife even when pushed. His reasoning was he wants to keep his relationship private but he was there to promote his memoir. It is like we have progressed so much as a society atleast on paper but it is like we never did. I am not sure why they put up with these losers.

i don't know anything about the particulars of adele's situation, but it is sadly common, because... historical gender roles. pressures on how men and women "should" behave in relationships. men's egos. women long being considered objects instead of humans equal to men. we are still far from being considered equals, and you see it in relationships most strikingly. relationships are political, they hold a mirror up to society, and what the mirror tells us is that it is very difficult for women who are more "powerful" than men to find partners who want to treat them as equals, because, well. a lot of men do not want an equal (the closer we get to equality the more inferior many men feel, because it feels emasculating, because masculinity is so FIRMLY stitched to power and control!)

I get so annoyed when some swifties refer to all Taylor's relationships as pr (as in them not being real/based on genuineness, or straight up referring to them as beards *cough* *cough* I'm looking at the g*ylors). Like, yeah if they're seen together outside they immediately become interlinked and the parties involved can take advantage of that, it's how pr works and it goes both ways. Any interaction between famous people is pr in a way. That does not mean that it's not real though. It can be both at the same time. Taylor most definitely doesn't need a pr relationship to promote anything. All she needs is a tweet, or a 20 sec video talking about her projects and it's a guaranteed success. Now, does it hurt being out seen with someone and people talking about it? Most certainly not. But it irks me that some people think that that's how she promotes her work. The same way it irked me when some swifties were saying that Taylor was using Joe's connections in the movie industry to secure a movie deal with a studio. Like, bffr. Joe can't get himself an acting gig, let alone help Taylor secure herself a film feature. The thing with Travis is not gonna last anyway. I'm glad and happy she's just having fun during her break and doesn't have to shrink herself and feel like a burden and guilty about her fame. Just let the girl be. Not her every move is calculated or with an intent and a secret motive behind it. Just some good ol' fun.

P.S. I'm so glad that Taylor went to that game. The satisfaction of seeing the g/k*ylors crying and whining like little babies even though they are grown ass adults was needless to say entertaining and fun. They needed some humbling. Ever since the krook showed up at eras I feel like they became more and more insufferable as if it was some kind of sign or something. Plus, the swifties who are still crying over the YB breakup and refuse to believe that he was not as good of a partner as Taylor painted him out to be, are gonna look like total losers if they get on tiktok and make their sad/depressing breakup mashup videos of the only 5-10 pictures we have of them now that their "anniversary" is coming up. Taylor literally confirmed now more than ever that she's completely moved on and not intending on getting back together with him ever again. Like it's JOEVER, JOEVER.

Yes anytime a celebrity is in a relationship there is gonna be some kind of pr. Doesn’t mean all celeb relationships are all pr. Right now I think TS likes the positive attention this is getting.

The dissecting of the relationship only with Taylor’s point of view, begging people to talk about YLM just so they can talk shit about him, kicking their feet thinking about TS11 and how Taylor is going to “bring him down”, talking about his income, talking about his career, talking about rumors of roles, calling him a loser and YB and a pathetic man, saying horrible things about him as fact. Like LEAVE HIM ALONE! The treatment by Taylor’s fanbase alone should have made him want out of the relationship. AEW doesn't do stories

I don't know if you saw...but AEW Fans “Don’t get more storytelling across the board”. This comes from the well respected source Bully Ray, and for starters I want to address what Mr Ray...Mr Dudley said rather than just talking about the headline. Bubba 'the love sponge' said that Tony Khan is a 'matchmaker' and that is the reason why AEW fans don't get more storytelling across the board. And to a certain extent he's right. Ok...ok...ok I know Devon, Spike and Big Dick's brother is certainly wrong but just for a second cast your mind back to this years' revolution. The Elite fought The House of Black and the story for this match was simply 'The House of Black showed up and challenged The Elite' that was it and it was amazing! That show kicked arse and it was in my top three matches of the night, a night that featured Danielson/MJF's hour long spectacular, Hangman/Moxley's psycho sexual deathmatch (I'm a Hangmox supporter), the final burial and the tag fatal four way and Joe and Wardlow's HOS fight.

This match was great...this is why Buh Buh Ray is missing the point. Tony quite often does book matches that people want to see and then just let people get themselves excited and use that for build. And you know what that's fine. Because it bloody works. It sells tickets, it sells PPVs and people have a good time with it. Literally Forbidden Door 1 & 2 have been mostly been built on this.

But certainly our favourite TNA wrestler is certainly wrong and AEW fans have had a large amount of storytelling and there's lots of stories I could talk about and I'm sure you are thinking of some and obviously the name I am about to say is who you're thinking about...

Brandon Cutler...and...Peter Avalon.

No explanation needed. In 2020 AEW launched their now defunct AEW Dark show. Now newer AEW Fans might know it as the show where AEW shoved like 12 meaningless matches every week but originally it featured actual stars like Pretty Peter Avalon (no but like seriously the YB were on it often at the start among other stars mixed in with less experienced or exposed wrestlers.) Pretty Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler are both on losing streaks they are a heel and face respectively, and after having both incurred countless singles losses Avalon's manager Librarian Leva Bates suggests that they form a team. Brandon thinks the idea might work, Peter takes more convincing but eventually they form 'The Initiative'. Their first tag match is against QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes on AEW Dark #36 which they lost. They then lost to Jurassic Express. Well...Jurassic Express AND SCU and then the Young Bucks and then the Dark Order and then the express again and then the Butcher and The Blade and then The FTR and then Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss and then TH2 and then Chaos Project and then Private Party and then Avalon turns on Cutler.

Peter tired of losing realises that the only way to stop losing is to fight a loser. So the stage is set for the 52nd episode of Dark, Avalon versus Cutler losing streak versus losing streak. And I'll tell you this...it's a double count out draw! So they have a rematch a few weeks later. a rematch that ends in a double DQ. So 'Tony Khan' (the Young Bucks probably, really, if we're honest) organise a contract signing between the two on Being The Elite for a No Count out No Disqualification match between Pretty Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler in which Brandon Cutler finally breaks his losing streak and beats Peter Avalon.

There you have it. It was a simple story told...pretty much perfectly. That's my proof that the brother to the Reverend is wrong. Even with AEW's youtube shows AEW fans get great storytelling. (I know AEW storytelling isn't always perfect, I'm not saying that AEW storytelling is always good but I'm saying that as fans we've had an ample amount of storytelling and AEW stories can be great even when just on Dark and BTE)

listen. a concept: so in yunping, we’ve had boys swimming in the river and bothering an enboatened wen ning, right? boys, huh. specifically, 少年, in japanese shounen and in chinese shaonian. a japanese online dictionary specifies that 少年 can be between 7-8 and 15-16 years, with other sites widening the gap to “under 18 or 20”, so indeed a “boy”. however, since they’re 少年 and not “little kids” or “little boys”, i choose to interpret them as being closer to the older end of the bracket, especially considering the narration points out they’re shirtless and their skin is barley-brown (or simply “sunkissed”).

some of them swim up to the boat, rock it and splash wen ning. now, it has to be said that boys this age absolutely can do stupid and childish shit just for laughs, and poor wen ning also has a bit of a timid loser face (i’d say sorry to yb but he got into n/f/ts, so i won’t), so of course this interpretation is the most obvious. they notice two insanely hot dudes and one that’s... not as hot, and go “hehehe time to literally rock the boat :)”

However. please imagine for a second, dear reader, that when wwx and lwj get to yunping, it’s already too late. jgy and sms (possibly with lxc) are on their fun lifetime-long hols in japan, the monks monk as usual while giving the necessary medicines and help to those who need it. it still takes a little time for wwx and lwj to figure that out, so they give wn a hat, some powder and pocket money and send him off to have fun (uh huh). so he just... hangs around, having free time and no tasks to do, and now he actually can do whatever he wants. and so can the boys, by the way, because they’re probably not going to pass up on the opportunity to check out the new fun strangers.

what i’m trying to say for three paragraph is: wgxn go back from their spying slash research date and find out a flustered but also slightly amused wen ning, intensely flirted at by a teenager who’s obviously trying to impress him

this is just me venting for a little bit. It has been a long time coming tbh. I know how the YB thing was something that really bothered you in particular and I just wanted to share that for me, my heart literally sunks when I see the "trash", "loser" and specially the "useless" offenses. As someone who has struggled for years with lack of self esteem, who was mocked and bullied by classmates and called useless countless times by family members...as you can imagine the confidence I have in myself and how much I matter to others is really not the greatest. And I will never understand what would prompt you to compare someone to trash (unless the person commited like an actual crime of some sorts and is not really a good human) and to imply someone has literally no value. Like could you imagine reading that about yourself? How you have no absolute value as a human being or so they think, without knowing you at all. It has became such a mundane type of offense, but if you look at it it's actually really heavy and dark to say something like that and it tells much more about you as a person when you brush it off. There's people out there who kill themselves over stuff like this. It's all very...I'm sorry I just needed to put this in words

I absolutely get it, anon. I don’t know how your mental health is right now (my DMs are open if you want to talk), BUT for me there was a time when my self-esteem was absolutely non-existent, and if I’d read the stuff people write about Joe back then, it would’ve destroyed me.

What really helped me put things into perspective was remembering that there are two options:

1. Either the people who write this stuff genuinely believe it, and in that case their opinion is stupid and worthless

2. Or they don’t believe it and they just use it to insult Joe, but they’re actually really nice people in their everyday life, and in that case you must remember that this is the internet and fandom culture’s fault. They say those things because this is what happens when you’re online a lot, but those same thoughts often don’t translate to real life. Like, a lot of the people who call Joe “loser” and “useless” because of his lack of success are probably genuinely congratulating their friend who got a job at McDonald’s the same day (and I say this as someone who’s worked at McDonald’s - btw don’t do it, most tiring thing I’ve ever done haha).

Most people you meet everyday would NEVER think you’re worthless, let alone say it to your face. They just say that stuff because they’re online and there’s the parasocial aspect of it all (yeah, yeah, a lot of good comes out of parasocial relationships, they still have a lot of awful consequences). Most people you meet everyday are full of insecurities one way or another, and they’re just trying to do their best and get by. Hell, a lot of the people who insult Joe probably have a very similar personality to his!

It’s just that being online makes people behave badly. But nobody’s worthless.

Btw whether Flapjack was Caleb’s palisman or not (deffo was) that does not change that Flapjack chose Hunter because of who Hunter is as a person. I mean just look at Hunting Palismen. Until Luz and Hunter got their heart to heart, Flapjack did not like him at all. It was only after he stated his “deepest wish” that Flapjack chose him as a new witch.
