Have an au that made me giggle
So set in a vague spouses friend group type setting.
Penelope gets bored one day and downloads a new game called Bridgerton, an otome game that set in a regency era like world. In the game they have the player take a quiz to place them as different members of the ton and then try to conquer one of the eight romance options, which is the Bridgerton siblings. One of the intresting aspects of this game is that it can also be played multi-player. While each player has to play a different route unless in rival mode they can also play each other's wingman
Of course, as soon as Penelope realized this she made her roommates, Michael and Phillip, play with her too. Then all three of them got the rest of their friend group playing too during the next game night.
Simon ended up as a Duke with daddy issues in the character sheet and the best friend of one of the conquerable characters. Choosing the oldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne as his route, he said choosing any of the younger sisters would feel weird. Plus, he likes the cutscene of Daphne punching a man out.
Kate is the daughter of a second son, and living with her loving stepmother and half-sister. Now Kate is actually trying to get the bad ending with her route, the Viscount Anthony. He irritates her, but every choice she chooses, starting arguments and disagreeing with him, only raises his love bar.
Sophie got an illegitimate daughter of an earl and claimed as a ward in public. Her poor character also has a horrid stepmother. She's not too impressed with her route, the second son Benedict is too much bohemian for her liking, he has sweet moments but overall he's eh. Though he's constantly in her character's space.
Penelope got the daughter of a Baron and secret gossip writer. She thinks her route, the third son Colin, is rather charming, but his constant running away is getting on her nerves. Also, she feels like she made a mistake by choosing the option to thank him after the kiss cutscene.
Phillip got a widower baronet with two kids, come to the ton seeking a marriage of convince. He chose his route, Eloise the second daughter, at random. But he's kinda enjoying the cutscenes from his character's pov with the prank war between his game kids and Eloise.
Michael's character was the spare turned lord and the merry rake of the ton. Ever being the introvert collector, he practically slammed down on that choose button for his route, the third daughter, Francesca.
Gareth for his character also got an illegitimate son, but his stepfather claimed him. Lucy was the orphaned daughter of an earl forced to be under her uncle's care. Kinda by default they got the fourth son and daughter, Gregory and Hyacinth. Gareth did offer to take the Gregory route if Lucy wanted to try her hand at seducing Hyacinth. They're tag teaming because holy shit these youngest two Bridgertons are somehow more unhinged than than the older siblings.
What none of the group of friends know is that the Bridgertons in the game are sentient and they have fallen in love with the new players. It's a race now to find a way to bring their loves in the game or get themselves out.

hello followers, and welcome to another episode of 'on a scale of 1 to 8' bro code edition. In which I rank the Bridgerton men from to absolutely worst bro to best bro ever. here it goes
8) Benedict: when it comes to Sophie, This dude breaks all the rules of the bro code, he is totally a) willing to throw other bros under the bus if he can spend time with her b) failing at wingman duty c) willing to withhold sensitive information from the bros if it means he gets to keep Sophie a secret and I don't know, in AOFAG He just gives off that kind of vibes, that not only would he be willing to date a bro's ex GF, if that GF was Sophie, he'd be the one causing the breakup in the first place.
7) Simon: self explanatory, he hooked up with his bro's little sister, which is totally against the bro code, he's putting Daphne before ANY bro night out and refusing to defend any of his bros if their significant others are attacking them. Simon, however, would not date a bro's ex GF, which makes him a little better than Benedict. He wouldn't even hook up with Sienna. so he gets bro points for that. Also, we all know Simon is also capable of stealing other people's GF, just because he's never done it doesn't mean the rest of his bros are okay with leaving their GF alone while he's in attendance.
6) Anthony: Like all Bridertons, exept Benedict, he IS an excellent wingman, and can keep the secrets of a bro. BUT he's a coward when it comes to his wife, so he would totally throw a bro under the bus if it got him out of trouble with Kate and we all know it. Does NOT believe in bros before girls, does NOT believe in defending bros. But he will bail a bro (most likely Gregory) out of jail while lecturing that they deserved it. When it comes to dating, the only help the bros get from Anthony is a list of who are the crazies that need to be avoided, on everything else, except parenting advice, the bros are on their own.
5) Gregory: I feel like Gregory should be higher up this list because he's just so wholesome, he's one of the nicest bro's in the game, he's a good wingman, he's good keeping his brothers secrets, he helps his bros out of sticky situations. And then I remember that Gregory, (for all his wholesomeness as a bro), has a thing for unavailable women, and has probably tried proposing to Kate and Penelope at least 3 times before they got married to his brothers. And he actually did end up stealing someone else's bride. Haselby may not have been his 'bro' in the strict sense of the word, but they still knew each other and went to school together. Gregory had his reasons, but he was not above breaking the bro code in a spectacular way
4) Gareth: I don't have anything against Gareth, but he kinda does give off the vibe that he can't keep anything from Hyacinth, so no bro would trust him with sensitive information, and he absolutely ditches wingman duty if it's way more trouble than it's worth. I can imagine Gareth being Gregory's wingman with Hermione and failing so badly at it, that he indirectly becomes the reason Lucy has to step up. But he's the sort of bro that gets points for trying at least, and we should respect that. Gareth would never date a bro's little sister, or ex, he'd never leave a bro alone to face the cops, he's a moderately good middle ground.
3) Colin: best wingman in the Bridgerton series, the only reason he's not #1, is because Colin would never sacrifice as much as Phillip and Michael did for the sake of a bro. But in everything else, he's your man, Colin will keep a bro's secrets, he will get the bro together with his girl, he will go above and beyond in the friendship department, hype up his men with super supportive speeches. On the other hand... He would still date his bro's best friend if Eloise had been born a guy. That's the only strike against him, and also that he's okay with throwing Anthony under the bus for his own amusement. Not all his bros, just Anthony. And only when he deserves it. Which is always.
2) Phillip: Was willing to enter a loveless marriage just to honor the memory of a bro. The extent of respect Phillip had for George, led him to marry Marina. And it was a large part on why he took care of her for so long. Phillip is willing to get beaten up by the bros to fit in, he's the guy who went trough every hazing ritual in the frat house and came out all the more manly for it. Also, out of all the bros, he's the one with the third highest alcohol tolerance meter, after Anthony and Michael. So it's very hard to beat him at drinking games. Phillip is just one of those bro guys okay. He does believe in the bros before girls thing, he'd never chose a girl over a bro, so much his bros had to practically beg him to just chose the girl, because they wanted Eloise out of their house. Still, he would never abandon a bro. the downside of this hyper wholesome bro...is that he does not know how to talk to girls
1) Michael: Out #1 best boy. Michael Striling, the man with enough self control to not seduce his bro's wife, even when he was dying inside. This man took being true to a bro's memory to a higher level than Phillip did. Because he actually LIKED his bro's widow. And never made a move until another bro practically pushed him towards it (see, Colin does have his uses) Michael may be the merry rake but this man would never touch someone else's girl, or ex girl, or their sister, or their bestie. he goes after merry widows and courtesans for a reason. Michael is a ride or die bro, so much even girls want him to be their bro. He will not throw a bro under the bus, ever, he will be there for every bro that needs him, even if it means leaving Francesca alone for a few hours. This man is so confident in his masculinity he's probably the one who organizes boys night out whenever he's in town. Because he just knows his bros need to unwind away from their wives. He's right. And we love him

You’ve probably answered this but what did you think of season 2? Highs and lows? Would love to know your view!
I'm starting from the lows,,,
I didn't like the lady Whistledown plot. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse she ruined Eloise.
The featheringtons plot was somewhat interesting at the beginning but it was very boring after half way.
Colin was once again scammed by the featheringtons and I'm glad he got back to his senses in the end.
I liked the queen this season, especially after how she saved kathony and blackmailed everyone lol.
Eloise and Theo are my loves. I was so invested in their plot. I'd like to see more of them.
Benedict was such a delight to watch. I'm glad he got more screen time. I loved that they made him Anthony's wingman. Also the way how they ended things with him would be a great start for his own season next.
Lady D and Kate's dynamics is one of my faves.
Apart from kathony my other favourite this season is Violet. She had really amazing scenes with Anthony. The scenes with the two of them are so powerful and very emotional. Loved how she was always there for him when he needed her the most (in 1814).
All the family scenes with the Bridgertons are just chefs kiss. Daphne though she had less screentime her scenes had huge impact.
I just loved kate and Edwina. Their dynamics is the best. I'm glad we got to see "the kathony shipper" Edwina during the last episode. I'm hoping she'd return for next season.
I Loved every second when kathony's on the screen either together or individually. Their chemistry is top tier. I wish they got more screentime. I'm really glad that they didn't rush in the end and give them a baby. Now they'd have a lot to explore next season. Domestic Kathony, Pregnant Kate, Anthony being a mother hen, baby Ed, I'd like to see them all next season!
To me season 2 is perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more!!!

The evil part of me that wishes that Penelope gets a handsome suitor and Colin is like 😡😡 while Anthony and Benedict are like 🥲🥲 watching him struggle.
Oh that's not evil, that's completely normal and the whole fandom supports Penelope dating before marrying Colin.
Anthony and Benedict trolling Colin will always be my favorite form of karma and I cannot lie.
The thing is that I'm pretty sure Penelope was marked as a Bridgerton practically since her first season. I mean. It's cannon in the books that Penelope is not ugly. Or without a dowry (in the books at least). You mean to tell me that in 8 years not one suitor ever looked at the cute redhead who happened to be the only nice Featherington and wanted to marry her?.
It's just too much of a coincidence that Penelope started hanging out with the Bridgertons at a very young age and suddenly there were no suitors to be found.
I'm pretty sure this is Anthony and Benedict's doing. They Ship Polin.
They knew Colin would eventually end up with Penelope so in a half ass attempt at being wingman, anytime someone came around sniffing about Penelope, they were like 'Ahh nope, she's practically our sister anyway, begone pest' and people just took it as a done deal that Penelope was going to marry into the Bridgerton family.
I imagine people speculating about which Bridgerton brother she had an understanding with, until Kate and Sophie came along and the ton just took it as a done deal that Penelope was waiting for Colin to officially propose. Which is probably why Cressida made fun of her too.
Wouldn't it be funny if in Penelope's eyes she thought people felt pity for her because she was chubby and had cero suitors but in reality it was because all society thought she'd been waiting 8 years to make things official with Colin Bridgerton and the guy was always off traveling and flaunting his rakeish ways like an insensitive cad. I mean poor sweet girl. But at least his family has made it clear that Penelope was one of them, so nobody gets the wrong idea about Colin's honor (everyone has the wrong idea about Colin's honor).
I mean look at lady Danbury she keeps calling Colin 'your Bridgerton' to Penelope's face. Penelope might deny it but seriously, she's been joined at the hip with his sister since her first season, she's practically the only unmarried young lady who consistently has tea with his family in their home every week, for 8 years and either he or his brothers dance with her at least once in every ball.
and you mean to tell me that NOBODY got the wrong idea??
I can imagine some suitor asking around 'hey and what about her, the cute shy redhead' and people around him immediately shaking their heads 'Oh that one is taken already by one of the Bridgerton boys, you can attempt to ask her to dance if you want, but trust me, either the Viscount or one of his siblings will stop you, that family is very protective' and the suitor just giving up right there after seeing Penelope surrounded by Bridgertons.
I personally think that Penelope's lack of handsome suitors was a side effect of hanging out so much with the Bridgertons. People kept getting the wrong idea and the Bridgertons did not correct them. I mean Colin might have said he's not marrying Penelope in private with his brothers, but I highly doubt he'd ever dare to say that in public. Likewise the rest of the siblings would never outright say that Penelope is not marrying Colin. So without an outright denial from the Bridgertons, even if Penelope did deny it, people would have thought that she indeed had an understanding with Colin and was just letting him sow his wild oats before they got married.
one of my biggest conspiracy theories in this fandom is that Anthony wanted Penelope to be happy and also to see Colin suffer with Portia as a mother in law, so he intentionally kept Penelope's suitors at bay to give Colin a chance to realize his own feelings. And the rest of his siblings and their spouses followed his lead because they liked Penelope. (Except Eloise. Eloise just intentionally spooked Penelope's suitors because nobody was good enough, it had nothing to do with Colin.)
Colin and Penelope are so observant, but if there is a Bridgerton couple who would not noticing that people think they've been unofficially engaged for 8 years. It would probably be them.
