#spheal#i wish i could post circular images on tumblr. because this one is deserving of a fully circular PNG. i could technically just take a#regular square image and then make the edges transparent to make it *effectively* a circle‚ but like… would that appeal?#if that would appeal then i'll do it. i don't think it would be *too* prohibitively hard. i would be willing to make an addendum#with a circular transparent image of spheal staring at the screen if enough of you want it. either way#this guy rolls everywhere and i think tumblr is gonna like that. i feel like this is gonna end up being a well-liked pokémon amongst tumblr#as in. i feel like. it already is. because. of how it is. i just don't know bc spheal isn't like. one of my favorites#it's cute don't get me wrong but it's just not one i think about all the time. it's one that i'll like if prompted but not unprompted#i'm gonna stop before i dig myself into a hole. i beat totk finally. it was very good and i honestly had way way more fun with it than i did#with botw. i have my criticisms obviously. it's not perfect it's not pmd. but it was very good. and now i've moved onto the next game in my#backlog. which is very long but i'm steadily working through it. hopefully i can get it done before i graduate this december and stop having#any time for the rest of my life ever forever to play video games. dreading that day. but uh#until then i will game. and hang out with my friends. and go on tumblr. and do all these things i like to do. until i no longer can#wow this got depressing i'm gonna Stop here. enjoy spheal

[OPTIONAL] Doodle Request/Challenge: Draw 2 Glitch Pokémon if they were members of a PMD Duo (I both would love to see how you'd approach this, but also I think the concept of two things that shouldn't be of this world wearing scarves that somehow fit while being on a team to save Pokémon is cute (Note that the easiest of the Glitch Pokémon to draw are the ever present Bad Egg, and the Generation III Question Mark Sprites).
Also, while I'm here, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the Fangz name origin comic. Both something very heartfelt while also hilarious. I can't wait to see whatever you post next!

Two mysterious Pokemon that, despite their good intentions, should probably be avoided when seeking allies for dungeon runs. Other exploration teams assume that they came into existence during some sort of time distortion that occurred before temporal tower was fully repaired.
Em constantly carries around tons of berries in order to make up for the fact that being around her decreases her allies' ability to heal wounds naturally, not to mention that reviver seeds don't seem to work in her presence. Because Em's treasure bag is constantly filled to the brim with oran berries, she often forgets to pack other useful items.
Polly is a Pidgeotto... or perhaps a Noctowl? Her colors don't exactly make it very clear. She speaks in a song-like voice, and once your get her to start singing, it's very difficult (if not impossible) for her to stop, and there's many things that inspire her to start. In dungeons, her song has the ability to paralyze anyone who listens to it, even allies.
The egg the two carry with them has remained unhatched for a long time, so they've decided to try and take care of it on their own due to feeling bad about taking up space in Chansey's daycare. Most Pokemon have come to associate this egg with bad luck, so the two try their best to keep their eyes on it at all times so that nothing happens while they're not looking.

So seen a few 'What if the ISAT cast were in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon' posts...
And I'm gonna put my hat in the ring because darn it I've been thinking about this for over a week now and I want to infect others with these ideas.
Siffren: Hisuian Zorua - White, adorable AND comes free with a neck ruff to hide their face in, but well, doesn't it fit Siff extremely well lore wise too?
Just a cute little guy that's a remnant of a home and life forcefully taken away, Normal enough to be among the living with no issues but also Ghost because there's something missing... Something lost that shapes them, tears at them but they just can't let go...
Also they eat a lot, have a good amount of mischief in their nature and use 'illusions' for self protection so like. It's a perfect fit really~ XD
(Also the 'red' aspects during the Vs Friends fight makes me wonder if in the PMD version of ISaT Siffrin is evolving so wrong somehow that the universe is breaking and a huge chunk of the fight is the party basically mashing B button in utter terror~ XDDD)
Isabeau: Ditto - No joke, Isabeau had me really stumped for ages because what kind of pokemon species goes from nerd to buff to eventually somewhere in the middle during their evolution line but then I realized 'Wow I'm an idiot. There's a pokemon all about Change that can be any form right over there!' and thus Isa-Ditto was born in my mind.
I like to think he's almost always in the form of a Marchoke, Zangoose or Scrafty or something that to the others is big and buff but Isa's warm smiling ditto face always stops him from ever looking intimidating, and back in the 'nerd' days Isa probably stuck to being a Gothita/Gothorita, if only because they're about the only mon I can think of with braids and they do seem like a good form if one wants others to stay away so they can focus on studying and stuff...
Mirabelle: Minccino/Cinccino - Ok, most of my reasoning for this one is because Mira visually reminds me of the Minccino line (those eyes <3 And her ribbon! <3) but like, she IS pretty studious and helpful and probably cleans up after everyone and that's Cinccino as anything to me, plus the sheer way this mon blitzs with Skill Link... IDK I just really feel the line suits her.
Odile: Kanto Persian or Purugly - After realizing Siff, Isa and Mira were all Normal types I decided to make it a thing and since under this logic Odele couldn't be a Kadabra (as was my first instinct), the idea of her being this big old book reading cat affectionately rolling her eyes at everyone else's nonsense just had so much appeal <3 Leaning Persian if only because its design matches her visuals better but the thought of her as a Purugly feeling comfortable enough around the others she doesn't puff up her fur via her tail around them is pretty cute/very 'seems standoff-ish but is secretly affectionate Odile' so I'm still struggling to choose between them.
Bonnie: Zigzagoon - Bonnie was probably the hardest to pick out because there were so many possibilites (Aipom for the mischief? Munchlax for the cooking/food vibes? Oh but what about Meowth for their weird hug face???). But then I realized pokemon of all sorts could do all of those things and what really stands out about Bonbon is their 'NPC somehow on the big adventure and doing their best' vibes so a spunky little Zigzagoon using their 'Gluttony' expertise in food to 'Pick Up' the party's sprits felt really fitting (also they way they dart in and out of combat with their Quick Feet just. It works you know? XD).
Not sure which Zigzagoon form would be most fitting for them but currently leaning Galarian if only because Siff being weak to Bonnie fits hilariously well, it matches with Bonnie's 'desire to be edgy despite still being adorable' vibes and the mental thought of them far off in the future, all grown up and protecting their family as a big bad Obstagoon gives me a ton of warm fuzzies so yeah~ <3
Euphrasie: Lopunny - Look, it's just the hair, the affectionate personality and her being really really tall compared to the others alright? Only the party is actually Normal locked to me! X'D
(I could see her as an Altaria or a Mega Ampharos as well but Lopunny just feels more 'right' somehow.)
The King: Hisuian Zoroark - . . .
In my defence, he's an incarnation of malice born from the loss of his home/life with long long hair who acts as Siffrin's foil, pushes them towards 'discovering the red' and yoyos between tragically lamenting and being a ruthlessly, cruel monster who would hurt a child. There was no other option.
Loop: currently torn but leaning Cosmog/Cosmeom or Mimikyu for most of the game and Necrozma/Ultra Necrozma for the Act 6 secret fight - Finally the one non Normal type! And the fact it's the eldritch feeling Loop is kinda perfect? Helps them stand out more at least, and well you really can't beat Ultra Necrozma for 'star shaped thing that is both terrifying, potentially world ending and in immense amounts of pain'.
(...Also its weak to Siff's H!Zorua and Bonnie's potential Dark type so it fits type wise also XD).
Change God: Mew - Do I really gotta explain why? (Legendary, has Transform, cute and sweet but also a little bastard, etc- It ticks all the boxes XD
So... Yeah. Those are my In Stars and Time 'what Pokemon would the main cast be' thoughts.

These thoughts are plagging my brain and need the rejuv-nation to suffer with me.
Have you noticed that Paragon!Melia is....off? Ever since waking up from the dream/alternate universe, she has been acting strange- she even wore pigtails at one point (post Terajuma) which I figured she'd avoid bc of Melanie- kinda detached, even? But still nice.
So, here is what I think. I think Paragon!Melia is M2 too, but she has been subdued in anger because of the positive memories in Melia's body, so she is playing her role to help us until our friend comes back properly.
I too think she act a bit off, especially right after she met the real protagonist in the "wilted" world
And ngl, when Melia requested to be added into Zeight, i...did not trust her. Like you've said, she feel off and if you play renegade route or watched it, it's understandable that you would assume that M2 is replacing our Melia. I thought me popping right outta the Zeight, that would trigger Melia to say st else but nope, nt happened.
Personally, i don't think M2 is possesing paragon_Melia body, cuz' in renegade, it shown that M2 don't have any memories of the host she in so i don't think her emotion would be skewed by Melia's posistive thoughts.
My theory is that, that is still our Melia, the current version_Melia of the world we are currently living in. And...the reason for her odd behaviors was that, she is coping.
Like, put yourself in her shoes...
She got the whole team Xen after her;
Discovered that she have some god-like power which was placed in her since birth, then discover that the same thing is giving her some sort of rare disease;
Is sorta having identity-crisis about herself (Maria-Marianette-Melia);
Going through multiple bad timelines and one of them feature the world is in literal state of static (PMD explorer of sky reference, lol), and the reasion was that she and the protagonist failed.
And then the whole revelation about karma
Like, that must fucked up your mental health a lot
And another thing is...there is no other options than keep moving on.
So like, Melia has all these responsibilities on her and yet, in the end, she still gonna died to a disease anyway, unless the interceptor manage to change it (which i think Melia is very hopeful about). So that's why her action can come off as off and...secrety, at least to me
Adamant on getting into zeight, her fucking up the time zone in there seem to be another way for her to slow down her death time
Making End-of-Nights, hinted that she know Renegade MC and had communicated with them, without fully explaining this to anyone else on the team, so she is doing things alone...again.
Breaking up with Venam, which is...idk, this action seem weird, sure, we are too busy saving the world, relationship come seconds but like, idk, like, you doesn't have to stop acting lovey dovey while on the jobs, you know? Idk, this decision from her is lowkey strange, i know you're gonna die so why lock yourself out of any happiness.
As for pigtails, i don't think it meant anything tbh

warped skies by team ion. linked is the arc 1 rewrite, the original is here. its beautiful. its a trainwreck of emotions, and i havent started on arc 3 yet (thats the good shit). the chapters are extremely long, the characters are extremely good, i shill it everywhere, i love this fic and i havent even gotten halfway through. its the other main influence on my writing, although more in ambition and inspiration than in actual style like exile. hell, i started DoP because of it. the post is out there somewhere. its just. it is. it is, it is. i think you can see a common theme with my ineptitude at describing fics, but. read it. read it. masterpiece

PMD Hero and Partner Week Day 6: Return
Day 6 of Hero and Partner Week and the choices were Farewell, Alone, and Return and naturally I picked return for obvious reasons! And Gates to Infinity felt like such a fourth wall breaking game after the main story thanks to Hydreigon telling that we were watching them after our leaving and staring at us through the screen. I really thought he was watching me! So I decided hey Gates to Infinity needs a little more recognition so to my Gates to Infinity team, Team Hope!
“Blue sky… Puffy clouds. It's always the same, and… I always feel… This view is so calming! Perhaps I’ll just keep lying here till the sun sets. This is such a tranquil place. Aaah-! What was that? What was that feeling just now? Hmm? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?”
“Sharpleaf wake up.” A young dark green and brown eyed male teen jumped fully awake and looked up at his brown eyed blond haired brother.
“Brother I was asleep.” Sharpleaf scowled.
“And nearly about to fall off the tree.” His brother, Drake, deadpanned. Sharpleaf blinked, fully realizing he was indeed sitting on a branch of one of the trees of the White Forest.
“This is the third time this week you've done this since you finally came back home.” Drake sighed. “You don't even sleep in your bed anymore.”
“I don't feel comfortable.” Sharpleaf simply shrugged, thinking. And I can see my friends back there when I sleep like this.
Drake sighed, rubbing his head. “Look, just come down soon you have our mother worried.” He informed his little brother.
“I will and I’ll apologize to her when I do.” Sharpleaf replied. Drake only looked at him but nodded and climbed down the tree. Once he was sure he was gone Sharpleaf sighed thinking back to what he saw.
It was almost as if Hydreigon could see me just now. But that shouldn't be possible, could it? He thought. Ever since his return to the human world of his home region Unova, Sharpleaf had been having dreams of Paradise, his partner Mirai, and all their friends there. At first he only thought they were dreams until he realized he was actually seeing the other world. He understood the reasoning of having to return to his world and he had missed his family and home in the White Forest. And he was happy being able to see his friends. That was enough for him. But even he couldn't help missing the other world. Expanding Paradise with Mirai, talking with Espeon and Umbreon about their work, training with Virizion, hanging out with Emolga and Dunsparce, all the pokemon in Post Town.
But there’s no way for me to come back… He thought sadly. He only sighed climbing down the tree not noticing his brother watching him.
Sharpleaf sat on the hill of the White Forest watching the sun rise yet he could feel his vision wane to the other world like a daydream. He could see Mirai traveling in a dungeon by herself to his surprise, given she wasn't with anyone yet could almost feel Hydreigon’s presence.
I wonder what… He began to think.
“Sharpleaf.” Sharpleaf looked to see Drake coming up the hill walking up to him before sitting next to him.
“Oh Drake sorry, I just wanted to watch the moon.” Sharpleaf began.
“You don't have to hide it brother. I know you're thinking of those friends you told us about from that other world.” Drake sighed, making Sharpleaf twitch. “You haven't really been the same since you came back home. And no surprise really no doubt missing your friends from this world you told us.”
Sharpleaf couldn't help the frown of guilt he knew how much his friends and family here had been worried sick when he disappeared. He hated that he left them the way he did but at the same time.
“Hey none of that.” Drake frowned, making Sharpleaf jump. “You gotta stop feeling guilty. You made dear friends over there and you miss them. It isn't a crime, Sharpleaf.”
“But you and mom.” Sharpleaf began.
“Yeah we were worried about you but given what you told us, you had a good reason, albeit it wouldn't have killed that Hydreigon to at least let you tell us before you left.” Drake huffed, making Sharpleaf sweatdrop.
“Er yeah sorry about that.” Sharpleaf apologized, but his brother patted his shoulder.
“No worries but look Sharpleaf.” Drake began seriously. “Mom and I can clearly see how much you miss your friends and that other world. And if you want you should get the chance to go back again.”
“But I can't. I told you what Hydreigon told me, it's too dangerous for the balance of that world for me to go back.” Sharpleaf frowned.
“Oh come on if there is anything that we were taught among the lands of the White Forest is that fate isn't always certain it is always changing.” Drake smiled. “Brother…” Sharpleaf breathed.
“So be honest with me, Sharpleaf. Do you want to go back there? Back to that world?” Drake asked. Sharpleaf stared at his brother for a moment, glancing at the coming dawn clutching his hands tightly.
“I do.” He admitted. “Of course I do. If I could I would return I-!”
Suddenly Sharpleaf felt a sharp pressure in his chest making him gasp.
“Wha-?” He muttered, and suddenly he heard Mirai and Hydreigon.
“Sh-Sharpleaf is… Watching us? Right now?!” Mirai questioned shocked.
“Yes.” Hydreigon nodded. “Sharpleaf… You can hear me, can’t you?”
Sharpleaf gasped softly hearing Hydreigon speak to him.
“We must know your feelings about all this, Sharpleaf.” Hydreigon said. “I'm sure you’ve been watching us all this time, haven't you? Being able to observe everyone in Post Town and Paradise… And you’ve seen how much they care about you. Haven't you, Sharpleaf? How did that make you feel? What do you want to do about it? Because if your wish is strong enough… I’m sure that…
“I… I…” Sharpleaf muttered, choked up.
“Sharpleaf?” Drake questioned worriedly. Sharpleaf glanced at his brother.
“Drake I…” He began. But one look and Drake understood with a kind smile.
“Go, I’ll tell mom.” He assured. Sharpleaf smiled his thanks, closing his eyes to fully see Mirai and Hydreigon focusing all his thoughts.
“Of course… I want… I want to go back! I want to go back to the Pokemon World where everyone, where Mirai is waiting for me! I want to go back!
Sharpleaf felt a great warmth spread throughout his body and enveloped by the same feeling it felt when he returned to the human world. He felt himself get small and his body changing. Yet he didn't felt scared. In fact he embraced this feeling. Soon his feet touched what felt like rough rock before slowly opening his eyes. He looked around seeing he was in a beautiful starlit cavern seeing his familiar green hands. Then he looked and his eyes widened to see Hydreigon and his pikachu partner Mirai. He and Mirai walked up to one another and the pikachu’s eyes welled up in tears before hugging her best friend as he hugged back with tears of his own.
“Welcome home, Sharpleaf.” Mirai cried.
“Heh… I'm back.” Sharpleaf smiled. “I’m home, Mirai. Thank you…”

PMD: Currents Leading Home
Scrapped Prologues
My match in the pmd oc tourney is today, so I figured today would be the perfect opportunity to post a few scrapped prologues which contain Cyan and Jet’s first meeting in the fanfic starring them that I’m working on! Only the shorter one will be going on here, while both the shorter one and the longer one (which is the one that I personally like more) is now posted on AO3 here! So without further ado, here’s the shorter of the two versions!

“Are we there yet?” The currents ripped at Jet fiercely, and his flippers burned as he struggled to keep up with his mother. This was nothing like the calm, sleepy waters in the bay, and Jet didn’t appreciate the difference. Still, the reef could be a lot more fun than the tiny cove that he and the other finizen calves had been stuck in their entire lives. If they ever got there, that is.
Mom continued to stare out ahead. “Mmm, just a few more leagues I believe, so-”
“What does that mean?”
“We’ll probably be at Splendent Reef in around an hour.”
Jet growned. “That’s a long time momma!”
“I know bud. Once we get there, we can find a nice cave so that all you calves can rest a bit.” Mom glanced back at him with an amused smile. “Although, for some odd reason, I feel like you’ll want to swim circles around everyone else once we find one!”
“My flippers are already tired.”
“Then you agree that you’ll go right to sleep without any objections?”
“I didn’t agree to anything!” Jet jerked his eyes to the moonlit backs of the pod members ahead of him.
Mom chuckled. “Well, I suppose we’ll just see what happens when we get there then.”
“I guess so!”
Jet glanced down then looked back up to focus on the long swim. Then he glanced down again, sending some clicks to investigate further. The fuzzy shape of something really weird laying on the seafloor echoed back. He slowed.
His mother glanced back at him with concern. "Jet, I know you're tired. Do you need me to help you swim?" Jet shook his head.
"I see something down there!" Jet swung his head, gesturing at the faint shape outlined in the murky depths. He started to tread water, and pod members began to pass him.
"But you can't slow down bud, we'll get separated from the pod!" Mom swam back to him. "There'll be plenty of new things to see once we get to the reef."
Jet darted for the shape. His mother dove after him. "You don't know what that is! Stay away from it!" Jet ignored his mom and continued down at top speed until…
"I think it's a pokemon! Not an us pokemon though." He halted. He could still only make out a silhouette, but now it was much more defined. It could have been blue, though in the water everything looked blue from far away. He clicked at the shape. The echo revealed a long and thin body, with some sort of ridged spikes on its head. "What do you think it is, momma?"
"What I think is that we need to go back up to the pod!" she said as she caught up. "We shouldn’t interact with any strang…” She gasped. “Why, that looks like a calf!" She dove down to meet the shape, and Jet followed.
At the bottom of the seafloor, he finally saw the pokemon clearly. They were small and cyan with a white belly and snout. Two spikey white fins protruded from both sides of their face, and they had a small white bump in the middle of their forehead. The rest of the body was just a thin and long flukeless tail. The creature appeared to be asleep on the seafloor, belly up and folded around a small rock that stopped them from drifting out with the currents. I wouldn’t want to sleep there. Jet frowned. Looks uncomfortable.
His mom turned the small snake over, revealing a purpling bruise on the back of their head. "They’re injured," she murmured.
That explained the weird pose. Stream looked a bit similar when she had gotten hurt running into a rock at the cove. Her mom had gotten super freaked out, even though Stream had woken up a couple minutes later.
“What are they?”
“I don’t know. But they shouldn’t be down here alone. And hurt too…”
His mom leaned down and draped the strange pokemon over her back. "Come along Jet," she said, and once Jet was beside her, they swam up extra fast to catch back up with the pod, which made Jet's flippers burn even more.
"What are we going to do with them, momma?"
“I’m not sure. I’ll have to show Flip and the rest of the pod. I suppose we’ll try to find their parents.” His mom gazed into his eyes intensely. “Don’t go swimming off again, you understand me?”
“Ok mama.”
He stared at the strange pokemon slung on his mother’s back. He wouldn’t even think of rushing off, not now that the weird pokemon was here. If Mom didn’t know what they were, then that meant that they were really interesting. Probably even more interesting than the reef! Jet grinned. Today was shaping up to be way more exciting than he ever imagined.

SUMMER JET PROPAGANDA POST
Personality-wise, she's best described as "sassy bitch with a side of mom friend"—she has a loud-and-proud, take-no-bullshit attitude and absolutely zero filter whatsoever, but despite being very rough around the edges charisma-wise, she does usually have people's best interests in mind! If you manage to befriend her, you've got a fiercely loyal ally on your side who'll very much ride or die for you, and maybe even kill for you (...okay, maybe not kill, but 100% bash people's skulls in with her bat and leave them alive to deal with the consequences and hopefully learn their lesson). She's also a jeweler by hobby, and also as I mentioned in her introductory blurb a huge My Chemical Romance fan!!
As for her lore?
Summer was made for a tabletop RPG campaign based around Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and before the campaign happened, things were Not Good™️ for her. Her dad Canary, the CEO of a mining company in Unova, really wanted her to be his heir and would get very cold & oftentimes downright physically/emotionally abusive whenever she protested, while her mom Snow tried to support her and help her find something she'd prefer doing... to very little avail, as she was a very lost child/teenager at the time.
Eventually, on her 16th birthday, Snow gave her the rose-gold bangle you see on her left arm, which immediately became one of her most prized possessions and is what sparked her to become a jeweler—which only served to piss off Canary even more. It really looked like things were going to end badly for Summer...
...and then one day, when she was freshly 19, after a particularly nasty argument with her father where he threatened to kick her out and take away everything she knew, she retreated to her room to take a nap—and vanished. Completely.
In actuality, that's when the PMD campaign started, as she had been isekai'd into the Pokémon world as a Sewaddle without any memories whatsoever, only that her name was Summer and that she used to be a human. She had that bangle stuck tightly around her neck like a choker and had no fucking idea why it was there for a while; the campaign is still technically in progress, even if it's on hiatus, and I have something planned for that when she evolves into a Swadloon if it ever revives, so I'm still keeping that a secret for now in case one of the other players sees this. (But you can send me (@kung-fu-cutbug) an ask on my blog and I'll spill the details there under a readmore! I might do that anyway.)
Anyways, eventually, after the adventure was over and everyone had gotten their memories back, Summer awoke back in her Opelucid City apartment as a human... sometime in 2022, around 2 and a half years after she had vanished initially (late 2019). Snow and, surprisingly, Canary were elated to see her back, although they were confused as to why she didn't look a day older than before she disappeared—she explained the PMD story and they were confused, but seemed to buy it. At the very least, it got Canary to stop bothering her so much about becoming his corporate heir. And she eventually got to reunite with her friends from the campaign too! She even got to adopt one of them as her younger brother after their reunion—he had woken up in Virbank City further southwest, met a girl named Cherry whom he told about a girl he knew in Opelucid, and tagged along with her while she did the gym challenge until they happened to meet up with Summer. Cherry eventually even started dating her. Lucky bastard.

This may be long cuz I’m my brain is just rapid fire rambles rn shdjdhdj
Honestly my pmd ocs are just the heroes and partners of the games themselves, but since I’ve been replaying sky and am rather absorbed into it rn I’ll talk about Light and Ever of team Blue! Ever, being a human turned riolu from the future ofc, and Light being a shinx that ran away from the Luxray pride.
Light’s scenario even plays into how he got those scars on his tail. During a powerful lightning storm in the plains, he and his family were attacked by the Manectric clan, and one of his brothers, a Luxio, was slain. Luxray blamed Light for not having the courage to fight so he was attacked, and lost a piece of his tail in the onslaught. So, he ran far away and settled in Sharpedo Bluff before meeting Ever.
Ever, obviously being a human from the future, has their own tale with grovyle. The two met when grovyle was still a treecko, and they bonded over their shared love of history, and misery at the state of a paralyzed future. Traveling around and learning about the past, it actually took a while for them to discover what time gears were, which then led them to their plan to remake the future and keep time from stopping. In fact, it wasn’t just dusknoir and his sableye that were trying to stop them, there were tons and tons of Pokémon that thought only of their own self-preservation that hunted them down., including a descendant of Light himself. Upon them meeting celebi, it took a while for them to understand her motives were the same as theirs. Trust didn’t come naturally to Ever, but when they lost their memories, of course the only one they could turn to was Light.
I like to believe that the main story took just short of a year, with the months that Ever was no longer there being around six months before their return. It was two years after the pair had first met that they graduated, with the post game playing out over maybe like three months. Manaphy returns and they become a family again. They soon after evolved into their final forms, and I like to think that on their fifth year anniversary of forming Team Blue, Light gives Ever a hand carved and hand painted time gear necklace, while Ever gives him a rock with the relic fragment pattern carved into it.
Once they reach the guildmaster rank, that’s when Wigglytuff and Chatot retire. There are plucky new apprentices of all kinds, but we still have croagunk Toxicroak’s Swap Shop, and a hardy Bibarel that wanted to stay with the guild.
One final note: in rescue team, when Alakazam tells of Lucario the greatest hero, he’s actually talking about Ever :)

Haven't made an actual post here, but I suppose there's something worth mentioning, since my group's current PMD-esque campaign is wrapping up, marking the very first TTRPG campaign I've ever had that's completed. And our DM hit us with a moment that got me to cry - which is admittedly a bit of a rarity. It also turned a bittersweet-leaning-on-sweet song that I probably never would have known about or cared much for into a song that just makes me cry. I can't think of many songs that make me cry. Actual story after the break.
So, context for when he played it is that the big-bad (a now-former cleric of Dialga) sent himself (and us) way back into the past, to a small town, moments before it was obliterated by a surprise attack by humans. We had managed to stop him before fully realizing his plan, but were still in that time period with the human literally about to attack. Robyn, my vulpix character (who had just evolved, but that's another story) detailed here, who is currently a mere initiate to the Dialgan church, prays to Dialga, and time stops just as the first rounds are being fired, the large munitions from the war machines suspended in midair. Dialga and his ordained/representative in the bastions, Espri, a very old dragalge appear, after some deliberation between the party, Dialga, and Espri about what to do with the BBEG, said BBEG, who has been silent and still up to this point makes the request to "see her one last time." Robyn vouches for him, the now-ninetales is an exceptionally passionate character, and it's not every day they get to see a long-lost culture in person. So, frozen in time, he and the party make their way through the town, people locked in this last little moment of peace, going about doing their usual daily routines, not knowing the horde of human war machines just over the horizon. We stop at a house, and open the door, and inside is Her - a liepard, on all fours on a big comfy, cushiony cat-bed style pillow, glancing curiously out the window. And then our DM puts this on and just lets it play. I fucking cried.

Glip has shown consistently though the decade that they cannot manage a community in a healthy way, all the way since PMD-E.
I don't believe Glip is capable of managing a community in a healthy way, but if they somehow manage to turn it around and do it yeah I'll pack up the blog. My other condition that I believe is more realistically obtainable is that they stop putting themselves in positions of power in communities.

Honestly I'm a bit relieved we don't have PMD2 remakes like. Not even cause I'm a hater (though I am VERY partial to the og sprite work, they really killed it w that). No, the reason is because I'm autistic and there are simply Too Many Things actually, esp in quick succession lately LMFAO like. I do not have the brain room for it.
And like as silly as it might sound, I've been REALLY overwhelmed and frustrated by it. I'm upset that I moved on from SV so quickly, I haven't even touched the Engage DLC despite having it, I haven't touched Engage in general actually. I feel like Fire Emblem esp takes up A Lot of brain space. I'm really upset that I Almost got really into SuMo again but kind of immediately was distracted by other things and I have art projects that have been left hanging bc of it.
Something weirdly specific is like??? Bc I make a lot of fanart and a lot of it takes the form of comics and focuses heavily on interactions and dynamics between characters, something I've REALLY been struggling with is like. I feel like it takes a lot of studying a character and getting to know them to really capture their Voice, how they talk, how they think, how they feel and how they react to things, outwardly and internally. That's a deep process for me that takes a lot of time and thought.
I feel like I can't quite express it all the way, like it's stuck, but like. Really picking apart the SV squad and trying to learn each of their mannerisms vocal quirks and general vibes about how they Are. Feeling abruptly uprooted from that to do it all over again but with a huge roster of brand new characters. Also really wanting to revisit older characters that are near and dear to me that I do feel I know very well.
And also like??? A very sudden distraction and almost instant loss of interest is like. Hell on earth hell on earth. Like as much as I fucking miss SV already and as much as I really wanted to keep working on my projects about it (had a whole AU going and everything) literally I Could Not get myself back into it even if I tried really really REALLY hard. And that is SO upsetting????? It's such a specific thing.
Hhhghgh got. Distracted thinking about PMD LMFAOO making that a separate post tbh but like. Main point is replaying it a bit reminded me of the importance of being able to slow down and really sit with a game. It's characters and story and what it has to say. And even now, I'm already getting the Hell feeling of needing to chase whatever can grasp me and hold me. When will I stop chasing my own tail??? When does it end??? Will I ever be able to finish my projects???? Will I ever be able to play a video game like a normal person?????? I'm launching my own ass into 2013. Not even in a woe nostalgia type of way, but in a I really just had Two Interests and that was it way. I'm blowing this whole building up.

Do you ever get tired, or annoyed, of these questions? Because I can sit here and come up with more questions all day, and watch you answer them. I can slow down, or stop if you like. Just want to know if this is bugging you.
Besides Splatoon, any other games you like?
Side thought: I feel like games like Splatoon break the immersive lore by calling everything "ink". It's a trap that games like Pokemon fall into, where Pokemon has everything starting with Poke. By calling so much stuff "ink" or stuff like that, you break the immersion. Do you really think that Inklings would name everything starting with ink? Or Splat. No, they wouldn't. That would be as weird as humans calling everything "human" or something. It just doesn't make sense. Inkopolis, Inkadia, Splatsville, and more.
No I don't really, I like excuses to write essays. The only time asks get on my nerves is when people come to my askbox to try and use me as a publisher for their own completely unrelated theories, in which case MY GOD, get out of MY ASK BOX and just go post it on your OWN BLOG. I think this is just a general PSA at this point for people thinking of sending asks... before you send an ask, take a moment to think if it's actually a QUESTION, if it's something i'm likely to be able to answer, and if the answer to both of those is "no", ask yourself why you're sending it. I don't mind the occasional non-question asks, but sometimes there's just stuff that's like... what am I supposed to say about that? And it might just get the delete treatment.
I don't really like saying this stuff because I don't want to discourage people from sending asks (because I like receiving them and seeing people's thoughts!), but there's been numerous times before where I've gotten an ask that's got like nothing to even do with me and could've easily been a reply or an original post! But as far as asks go, I don't mind as long as it's... actually an ASK most of the time. It usually makes my day seeing an ask notification, actually, so no, I don't really mind repeat asks. In fact I'd even encourage them if my previous reply raised more questions.
As for game series, I like Pokemon (regrettably), although scarlet and violet were incredibly disappointing to me and I played the game for like... a week. I don't see myself going back to it honestly lol. But Pokemon is definitely my second-largest interest. Battling is my least favorite part of it. I just really like creatures. I DON'T like the inconsistent (or hard to decipher, rather) worldbuilding and for that reason, I haven't bothered making content about it. (But I am part of some PMD groups on other sites...)
I like Zelda a lot but I wouldn't call it something I'm REEEAALLY into. Twilight Princess is my favorite, I've only really played 3D Zeldas... I like them, but my GOD the timeline is a freaking mess and I can't be assed to get into the details of the world and lore (there's a lot) so I also don't do zelda content, lol. It's something I enjoy occasionally whenever a new game comes out, but Tears of the Kingdom hasn't sold me so far, to be fair. I'll still buy it and I'm sure I'll love it, but what the hell, man. I already spent 300 hours exploring every single inch of Hyrule in BotW, I hope the main objective isn't exploration again.
Other than those two it's mostly smaller games, and I don't really play a lot of games, honestly. Night in the Woods continues to be one of my all-time favorites over stellar characters, a really immersive story, gorgeous art and music. Like I can't think of a single thing I don't like about it except how it will trigger an existential crisis literally every time (which is also the point). It's like the one singular indie game I would say I'm "into", I've played (VERY FEW) other indie games in my time, but pretty much all of them have been a case of "ok cool" and moving on. Night in the Woods tho? Every time the end of the year comes around I WILL think about it and probably play it.
Obviously Minecraft is on this list and it might honestly be the best game of all time, but I can barely consider it a game because it's so much more than that, lol. With that being said though I CANNOT be assed to actually play it myself almost ever due to how time-consuming it is (and also building is really hard lol). But honestly? If I had to pick only one game to play for the rest of my life it'd be Minecraft and that's not even a contest... that game can be anything you want it to be!
Splatoon's naming conventions. True, they are, um... unique. I don't think they break the immersion though, depending on what brand you're immersed in. For Splatoon as the funny game it sets itself up to be, it's perfectly in line - I find some of the weirder stuff breaking my immersion VERY OFTEN but that is solely because I build my image of the Splatoon world to be much less cartoony than it actually is, and then you get sucker punched by the silly elements that are just normalized. I think in Splatoon's case (at least with Inkling societies) ink- and splat- are just one of those cultural naming conventions that isn't strange at all in-universe because they're like, used to it. I do wish the localization team got even a little more creative with their naming of places, though... the one good thing I can say is that it makes it really easy to come up with authentic-sounding place names if you're coming up with original locations. Just slap "ink" on it and it's done.

‘Imagine Your S/I Was Canon…’ Self-Ship Asks

🪐: What would be your most popular AU and why?
I already mentioned here that I think that soulmate AUs would be popular since my ship canon is so much the opposite of that. Aside from that, I think the most popular would either realistically be a Realism/No Powers AU just because it seems popular in the fandom, but I love imagining myself with powers so I don't know if I'll dwell on it too much myself when making selfship stuff.
But Crossover AUs, oh man, those would open up so many possibilities for crossing over with other things! I've got ideas of what Pokémon teams we'd have if we were trainers, what Pokémon we ourselves would be in the PMD universe, and what species we'd be in a Sonic AU! I was thinking of making another slideshow post about them sometime once I have enough. I need to think of more verses to port Laurelton into, it makes my brain so happy to think about...
And fun fact, I'm actually joining a Pathfinder campaign with some friends based on Dungeon Meshi and I'm basing my character on my S/I and writing Laurel into her backstory! It's gonna be so much fun~
👀: How does your ship with your F/O influence both of your characterisations and the world? Would there be any interesting metas written about your dynamic?
Would it ever! Our character arcs are super intertwined and have major implications for the themes of the show. Not to mention, the people shipping Wednesday and Enid would have a field day drawing parallels.
In actual canon, Laurel doesn't really have an arc so much as she has one mask that's traded out for another mask at the end. I don't think either of them are truly who she is. "Marilyn" is obviously a persona she puts on, but I think there's tiny bits of evidence that parts of that character are who she'd want to be in more peaceful circumstances, like her love of her plants being a part of her even without needing to keep up an act. And then everything she does while not pretending to be that person is in service to a cause that she had no say in being indoctrinated into as a child, not to mention likely informed by the horrific trauma she experienced when she lost her entire family.
All the ingredients are already there for her to have a crisis of faith when her plans end in failure to avenge her family and the scorn of the ancestor she'd been raised to worship. My S/I just adds that final push: someone that she can't deny that she misses and feels bad for having used. And, in turn, her reevaluation of herself and rejection of what she'd been raised to believe proves to my S/I that nobody is inherently a monster and everyone has the capacity to change, something my S/I desperately needs affirmed after believing my powers and intrusive thoughts make me a ticking time bomb that nothing can defuse.
There'd be so much meta about all the themes at work there:
How our union blurs the lines between our social classes that start out being treated by the narrative as immutable and hereditary—I'm actually considering making her temporarily gaining powers from saving my S/I a permanent change to strengthen that theme.
How the buildup to our relationship demonstrates the importance of rehabilitative justice, how we should hold people accountable for their actions while also not deeming their character irredeemable.
How the fact that we become family and bridge the Addams and Gates Families represents a brighter future of coexistence, contrasting the past where Crackstone slaughtered outcasts and Goody had to sacrifice her own humanity to stop him.
How her beginning her redemption and saving my S/I specifically during my most destructive meltdown shows that people are still worthy of love and support even when they're at their worst.
So yeah. So much meta potential, and I'm sure I'll think of even more the moment I hit post and regret not adding them skjdkdshfdsfdsf
