“don’t leave me.”
you feel his fingers curled around your wrist, almost weak, and if you wanted to, pull away (as if giving you the chance to, when everything about him says don’t.) but, of course, you don’t. if anything, you stayed. you slowly slipped back into the sheets of the bed the two of your shared, creaking beneath you. seeing this, his hold on you only tightened a bit.
“please.” his voice cracks, and seldom did he let it happen. no more than a whisper, the word, and yet, in the quiet of the nigh of night, it’s almost too much. “stay. just… stay. don’t go.”
he lies on his side and it’s only then when you turn on yours do you see how frail, delicate, he is. an unsettling fog clouds his eyes and all he sees is you, you, you, and feels only you. he’s trembling. he tugs your hand to his lips, and it brushes just below the palm of your hand, your wrist - where your pulse rests just underneath.
he sighs, and it’s one full of relief if you ever heard one before - shaky, unsure, but enough of an affirmation for him.
“of course i’ll stay, kuni.” his breath catches in his throat with that name. “you don’t even have to ask or tell me, you don’t even have to say anything.”
you close your fingers on his and gently draw it closer to your lips, where you pepper his knuckles with the softest of kisses. his eyes follow your every move, even as subtle as it is. “i’ll stay with you for as long as i can, until the end. the very end.”
your other hand cradles his cheek, lightly stroking his skin as the faint moonlight, peeking from the slits of the curtains, coats him in a solemn light.
it’s not always that you see him in a fragile state, let alone to let another witness it. so vulnerable, always relying on himself rather than anyone else - because why would he? time and time again had the world hurt him, leaving yet another scar on his skin, and telling him that it’s time to cave into himself.
and you’d like to think he’d heal from said scars. they will leave traces, of course, and it’ll always serves as reminders that’ll continue to linger in remnants of memories, but no longer tender, raw. and you’d do anything for him on that path.
“…you’re…”
“no, i’m not going to leave you.”
his hand shuffles to your shirt, clutching onto it, catching wrinkles in the palm of his hand. “and…”
“and yes, i mean it.” your words are a lull, light, caring, and he finds himself being able to breathe again. “i don’t regret anything i said to you, did for you, let alone being with you.“
and in the silence that follows, all you do is hold his hand, intertwined, as it rests on the small space between the two of you as he finds himself feeling… airy, lighter, in the simple way the two of you are connected.
you’re here.
he holds you tighter.
you’re alive.
you smile.
you’re still alive.
“…what did i do to…deserve you…?”
“you loved me,” is the last thing he heard you murmur before slipping under unconsciousness. safe to say, he slept well that night.

iterator lineup! i wanted to keep their designs more consistent in my art so i made this as a reference. rambling about more details under the cut bc i love talking about my designs hhehehe
anyones free to use my designs as inspo if they like!
-moon and pebbles have matching cloaks! sibling iterators and their matching outfits my beloved <3
-pebbles' cloak is too big for him, which is why it always slumps off one shoulder and the sleeves often cover his hands. i like to think the ancients made the cloak before pebbles' puppet was completed, because they liked the idea of making it match with moon, but didnt quite get the size right!
-all of their antennae (minus sig of course) are able to rotate forwards and backwards, but only suns can rotate theirs in/outwards as well!
-pebbles and sig both have neon markings that look like top surgery scars because theyre my transmasc kings
-suns has claws and little paw bean markings on their hands
-suns is technically a 2nd gen iterator, only because they're structure was fully completed at the same time other 2nd gen iterators were being constructed. their construction was started in what was still considered the 1st gen
-i imagine iterators eyes are kind of screenlike, so they can optionally project pupils onto them to emote better if they want to! moon and sig do it the most (although moons pupils tend to flicker in and out post-collapse), pebbles mostly does it when he wants to roll his eyes, and suns uses it for intimidation factor and staring unsettlingly /lh
-i didnt include any of them here because im still brainstorming about it a little bit, but i imagine they all have little accessories or trinkets that were sent to them by the other iterators! both before the mass ascension, delivered by proper Ancient messengers, and post mass ascension, delivered by slugcats or similarly modified creatures
-sigs pronouns are he/they but they often use she/her for themself when its funny, or use feminine titles/honorifics just because they like them!
-because i love worm off the string aus a little too much, i thought about what their strengths would each be while designing them too </3 moon is the most robust and can take the most damage before her exterior shell even begins to dent. pebbles is the best shot, and is the fastest when it comes to just straight sprinting across flat ground. sig is the fastest when it comes to bumpier terrain and is the best at climbing and jumping. suns is the best at intimidation factor but also makes very good use of their clawed hands and sharp feet. hes the most skilled at fighting without weapons!

I think it wouldve been kind of funny if in the 1v1 battle between scar and pearl.. pearl won... and it's just, awkward cause she... didn't want that. at all.
She wanted scar to win after bdubs and joel died, she wanted to sacrifice her life to scar in the end because she wanted her allies to win.
I also think shiny duo is a tragedy in the end. I really hope someone makes a fanfic about them in secret life cause they just, they, they just, <3 <3 <3

HIII so this might be an odd request,,, mayhaps i ask for kaveh with an older step sibling (since his mom remarried i think).,, i think kaveh would be a little awkward interacting with them at first but they got along in the long run!! esp when they update him about his mom and never really makes him uncomfortable, or always doesn't force a conversation!! he respects his ideals and supports his passion!!
but the main idea was they go to sumeru one day to visit kaveh (they've been informing him thru letters) and accidentally finds out that he's buried under crippling debt and flat out broke!! i think kaveh would feel so ahasmed of himself but!! his older sibling doesn't judge n is very understanding!! helps him with his burdens (if kaveh allows them), maybe recommend his architectural skills to their friends in fontaine!!
idk i just really like the idea of kaveh having an older family member that he could rely on because he really just deserves nice things yk 🥺🥺 even tho they're just step siblings, they feel like true family!!

kaveh first meets his older step-sibling at his mother's wedding.
he's... happy for her, he really is. or he's trying to be, at least. she deserves nothing but the best. what kind of son would he be if he wanted her to live her life wallowing in grief and sorrow? she's hardly ever done anything to hurt him, and if she ever did, it was unknowingly. he could neved wish anything bad upon her. she simply does not deserve those things. therefore, he's doing his best to be happy for her.
a part of him, however, still misses his father.
a part of him— well, who is he kidding? the entirety of his being still suffers under the weight of grief and guilt caused by the circumstances surrounding his father's death.
he doesn't even know the man his mother has chosen to marry, really. kaveh absolutely does not feel like she is betraying him or his father whatsoever, but... he does wish that he had gotten to know this man a little bit better before having to trust that he would not wound his mother's scarred heart.
the architect doesn't engage with the other guests much. it's unlike him, really, but he finds that he can't muster up the strength and charisma to talk with people beyond simple pleasantries. he keeps to himself for the most part.
still, he doesn't dare dampen the atmosphere with his woes, so when another person approaches him, he offers his warmest smile.
"sorry, i hope you don't mind me asking..." this stranger smiles politely at him. it puts his mind at ease a little. "is the bride your mother? you look an awful lot like her."
"oh, i—" he stammeers inelegantly, then clears his throat. "yes. i am her son, kaveh."
they smile again.
"hello kaveh. i'm [name], the groom's child."
"oh. oh! i am so sorry, i had no idea!"
"it's alright, really. you mind if i stick around for a while?"
and kaveh finds that he doesn't. he doesn't mind at all.
the architect has been known to be loose-lipped about his troubles; that in and of itself is part of the reason why he spent the night withdrawn from the celebration. he had no intention of being open about his troubles, and yet...
his step-sibling had the sort of face that made him want to rant, and rant he did.
"i can understand that," they mused thoughtfully, kind eyes observing his expression closely. "it's complicated. grief is never easy. i get it."
initially, they were the one lingering around kaveh, but by the end of the night, the tables have certainly turned. he is practically attached at their hip.
he finds that their understanding presence ended up raising his low spirits.
a few days later, kaveh has to return to sumeru—he does have responsibilities, after all—but he's a bit sad about it! they're, of course, there to reassure him that they plan on visiting someday soon. maybe he can show them around? the prospect alone is very thrilling to him, and what's better is that he'll get to show off his magnum opus like an excited toddler showing off a drawing they made! he does warn them that it is very humid and they need to be prepared, though.
until they can visit, kaveh regularly exchanges letters with them. he complains about his terribly annoying roommate and how awful his taste in interior design is. he tells them about random gossip he heard at the tavern. honestly, he just rambles. it's endearing, really, and in return, they tell him about fontaine and maybe sneak in just the smallest bit of gossip about a certain chief justice or even about the hydro archon herself.
(in the future, closer to when the traveler arrives in fontaine, they do not dare tell kaveh about the heightened fatui activity. goodness, the poor thing would worry to death for theirs and his mother's safety.)
when they do finally have the time to come visit...
they arrive by boat in port ormos, and kaveh is there to pick them up!
he's got a lot of things he intends to show them and a lot of people he intends on introducing them to. on the way back to sumeru city, he stops a few times, pointing out some particularly beautiful locations or animals, all of which would have his siblimg absolutely over the moon. sumeru in general would have them enamored.
the air in sumeru is so... clean compared to fontaine, and the fauna and flora—it's completely different than what they've seen.
now, as for [name] finding out about kaveh's crippling debt... i think they would suspect something was off financially for him, simply because of certain mannerisms of his. he's careful with what he spends his mora on. he tries to be, at the very least, and his caution is very evident. or maybe they're just observant? either way, they know something is a bit off.
kaveh leaves them at alhaitham's home for a while.
it's not that they're one to snoop—it's disrespectful and rude to do so, they are very much aware of this—but a letter would catch their eye.
a letter detailing what he still owes to dori.
suddenly, things make sense in their mind.
they don't try to ask his roommate about it. instead, they wait until he's home and alone with them.
"kaveh," they call. "are you in debt?"
his heart sinks a little. so much for hiding it...
"i..." he hesitates, obviously embarrassed, but he does come clean. in their eyes, he looks like a kicked, pouty puppy. "it's... complicated. i mean, you're not wrong..."
"aw, kaveh, don't look like that," they coo, reaching out to gingerly squeeze his shoulder in a gesture of gentle reassurance. "it's nothing to be ashamed about. things happen, kaveh. life happens. i understand if not, but... will you let me help you out? at least a little bit?"
regardless of what he says, whether he admits that he could use the help or insists that they shouldn't have to do that, they do still go around and tell people about their super awesome and talented step-brother! and when kaveh asks in a letter about the suspicious amount of commissions he's getting from fontaine...
nope! they have no idea how those people found out about him. <3

I DO ACTUALLY!!! I think I've mentioned some in another ask, but uHHH I will put them here again cuz I might have changed some since last time🤔 I will put em belowwww Because I will not shut up about him /lh

Note: If it's not in any Aeruby AU (Aether x Rubedo but i and my friend like to call him Ruby haha) then he will forever be subject 2 in my head
I had HC Subject 2's real body underneath the Albedo imitation has multiple large jagged scars from when Durin had eaten him. Those large sharp teeth probably had pierced through his body once or twice before he was sent down the esophagus. That's why some parts of his body are so damaged he can't feel anything there
Another thing is that his hair.. I HC it to be black as opposite to Albedo's pale blonde-ish colour since Albedo is considered free of impurities and Subject 2 isn't at this point? Marinating in Durin's blood has GOT to do something right? Right?
This isn't exactly my HC, but of a friend who I always throw my brain worms at. They say his hands and feet has a bit of darkening, like a siamese cat's paw 🥺 It ends at his forearms and shins
Mentally, he is a child because I don't think Rhinedottir had allowed him to grow and develop so much. So yes, he doesn't have as much control over his emotions as Albedo. He isn't patient either compared to his successor. His relationship with their Master is complicated. He hates her, yet he refers to her as his mother. Mommy issues ayeeeee lmao
"You are my magnum opus" Rhinedottir had said to him. He had been proud to be her work of art. So he didn't expect to be thrown away for failing. What did he fail at? He didn't know. He was never told.

This question is 10+ years late, but I’m reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally curious to know. How did you first get into SpaPort / PortSpa and why do you like it more than the others?
oh this is gonna be a mini story time 🛐
how: since i got into hetalia toni is already a blorbo™. you know those things like uhh if a ship has both of my blorbo in it i will love it more? yeah...
in 2011-2014 there was a popular heta fan comic in deviantart called Maaf, it's mainly focused on maritime southeast asia ocs and bits of their history with other canon charas. it's kinda non linear (chronological??).
around that time port's 2nd design is revealed (the ponytail with scar), later the author of Maaf drew him in the story... note that the author doesn't write some parts of the story, chunks of it is provided/suggested by readers from said countries, port included.
ofc teen me (occasional yaoi enjoyer) & some readers went: oh ☺️ so that is spain's brother ☺️ they bicker a lot ☺️ wanna see more❣️ then i saw more arts of them by few dA artists... saw their tumblr accounts, followed, and from there i discovered many more in The spaport tumblr✨✨. i was just a minor lurker gnfjnfs, gradually left heta in 2014, made no drawing/content.
dragged back to heta bc of new season & SEA charas › jan 2022 i watched a certain anime and 2 main charas reminds me of #them › wow suddenly i miss #them a Lot..... › marathoned all their remaining tumblr arts and fics i've never seen before and dusted off my tumblr
why:
the 3 principles of good heta ship (credit to oomf): neighbours that share borders, one have invaded the other, family bond/related. this formula is always correct!
then there's canon materials and "why are you only meek with him"... toni only showed his weak side to port??? this exclusivity?!? oh it's over for other ships /lh.
TO ME a lot of ship dynamics/trope fit them heheh. sun and moon, dumb and dumber, sensitive and oblivious, writer and artist, i can fix him, etc. i think being a foreigner means i understood their irl relations less and i wont go "actually..." [insert better english sth sth ignorance is bliss].
they also reminds me of a favourite ship that involves my country so 🤒 even their language differences(?). then other fav ships reveals even more of spaport history bits from different pov. not elaborating the 3 ships here bc it will be Long and off topic lol but these kept adding as i learned more!! so yeah there's the many indirect connections.

So I hyperfixated on the Octonauts a few days ago, leading to me coming up with a bunch of theories/headcanons. These have only persisted and my obsession with Octonauts has stayed strong so allow me to give y'all some Kwazii headcanons/theories along with my Kwazii designs(theres two versions).

Ok so Kwazii headcanons/theories! Note that these take into account stuff that happened in Ring of Fire, and that I haven't watched every single episode of both series(the original Octonauts and Octonauts: Above and Beyond) because my stupid siblings were bullying me for watching it >:( Anywho heres the headcanons/theories
Kwazii is trans because fuq you also like probably canon according to everything I see
Kwazii has some of Calico Jacks, his grandfather, features that no one else in his family really has. Those features are the eyes, nose marking, and left leg marking(this is based on the design above). The colors vary but everyone compares him to his granddad.
Kwazii has ADHD no I don't take criticism I have ADHD therefore he does as well.
Kwazii has abandonment issues and can be rather clingy when he isn't putting on a brave face
Besides Captain Barnacles, Tweak was the first member of the Octonauts that Kwazii befriended. They play video games every night and his gold tooth is a cap that Tweak made him. His fang is chipped underneath it
Speaking of which, Kwazii is a night owl. He's always up til like two in the morning, probably getting zoomies
I think Kwazii spent most of his childhood alone. The only family he ever mentions is his grandfather, and his grandfather left when he was a little kitten(as said in the Amazon Adventure episode)
Pan boy poly boy hes dating Shellington and Peso screw y'all
He loves to cook and bake, and he can be seen helping the Vegimals in the kitchen
No one knows why he's so good with kids, considering that as far as anyone knows he's an only child and didn't have other kids in his family(or at least, if he did he never mentioned them) but most children naturally flock to him and he gets real freaking attached to kids when he interacts with them(examples being the baby dolphin episode, Peso's little brother, the baby crocodile, theres probably more but these are the ones off the top of my head)
He looks up to Captain Barnacles alot and often can be seen mimicking his mannerisms
He loves the sea monster stories because they brought him alot of comfort as a child, and made him feel closer to his grandfather. He doesn't always believe them but he wishes they were true
Kwazii has very little concern for his own safety. He would gladly put his life on the line for, anyone really, and is shown to overcome his arachnophobia just so he could help a beetle that was actively being...hostile ig? just a few minutes prior. He doesn't care what happens to him, he only really worries about others
Hes lost some feeling in his tail and his tail healed with a bend in it
Kwazii has had many scars over the years but the one on his ear is interesting because he won't tell anyone how he got it, when he usually tells big extravagant stories for how he got his scars
He makes a habit of remembering everything thats said to him, making sure he can use it in the future(example being when Shellington talked about symbiotic relationships between the crab and the urchin i think? Maybe it was a sea sponge but whatever, and Kwazii brought up that fact in Above and Beyond)
I think he dwells over his mistakes alot. I also think he has nightmares of past incidents, recently being the events of Ring of Fire, and is a fairly light sleeper, so he wakes up to most sudden noises.
I think Kwazii is actually afraid of stuff sometimes(not for his safety reasons but like what it could be) and he pretends to be fearless to be like Captain Barnacles, who seems fearless to everyone around him.
Dashi helped him write a book featuring all the tales of his grandfather
He was always searching for stuff about his grandfather to feel closer to the man he only faintly remembers
I think he joined the Octonauts a bit younger than the others

Kwazii developed his arachnophobia as a young kitten, but after Calico Jack left. Its one of the only things he actively shows fearing because hes just that spooked by them.

He has some shark friends who he actively races and they just hang out, usually when he should be sleeping
I think he has a slight fear of fire from what happened in Ring of Fire. And hes way too overly attached to the Gup-B, probably because its gotten him out of alot of life threatening situations(that he wasn't even aware were life threatening because he didn't really care)
Ok thats all if I keep thinking this post will be so long it will count as a novel. Once I draw the others I'll do headcanons and theories for them too! If y'all have suggestions/requests for who I should do next I'll gladly take those too! Also which design do you like better? I like the first one alot but I feel the second looks closer to the source material lol, also should've added eye bags but oh well-

Nanase and Arumu for the headcanon ask?
Just woke up srry for late reply
Nanase
HC A - Nanase picked up alot of hobbies during the time he was a shut in so he knows how to sew, probably learned small stuff about cooking from Mikado etc.
HC B - (based on a mem) The line Nanase (2222) has w Misane is still intact so when Misane goes to her original timeline she can still communicate with him; Future! Nanase sometimes stops in to say hi, Toukai just doesn't question it and Nanashi (2222) just helps Misane cheat on tests because there is no logic explanation how the fuck are they gonna explain "oh dw I'm talking to my best friend who's in another timeline!" (The only two (both 2222 and future) who see through the bullshit is Aira (ripple proof memory due to Android) and Izuchi (reading the bitphone data) )
HC C - Nanase probably has some vague memories of the bad and normal ends due to deja vu and gets it when the timeline restarts. And considering he's able to remember the past into the future; The whole mikado identity crisis is another thing.
HC D - Toukai adopts Nanase; Nanase is Misane's older brother (accutallly fuck canon w their relationship) Nanase gets adopted in around the time he's 16 bc Nanase managed to get into college at a young age due to credits and such and that's how Toukai met him (Toukai goes to school again could study more for his job and to keep the family afloat) and they just happen to be close upon meeting, a little shaky at first but they got there. Minisane seemed to get attached to Nanase when Toukai invited Nanase over to babysit her for the first time.
Arumu
HC A - Arumu probably had a passion for writing as a kid: She probably was the one who made morning announcements during her school years, had a blog where she takes notes and does street interviews etc, was into photography at a young age which is why she has an old Polaroid as it's sentimental to her. Because of all this she decided to pursue her interest as a reporter.
HC B - Arumu probably took so many photos during 1beat I feel like she's probably gotten couple photos of the fatcats knocking people over, nomare starting shit w his crab, shinobu when he's not paying attention, mb Sataka and Namoto when drunk etc, girlie just has alot of photos of everyone being goofy as hell that's it; everyone else just tries not to piss her off bc they know she could get more dirt if she wanted even though she wouldn't. Misane recommends to probably not to say anything Abt getting photos like that while as Nanase encourages her to keep doing it: Arumu listens to Nanase. /lh
HC C - Arumu has probably been a witness to other crimes due to being involved in press and new developments get made, though 1beat was the one that sticks w her the most due to it turning into a national tragedy by File 03, she says she's okay but with the stuff that happened in File 03, yeah that's going leave some mental scarring considering it was a variety of death causes so some would've been worse than others.
HC D - Arumu eventually joins the force w the help of Misane and Nanase due how much of her being willing to help: she still keeps her job as a reporter but she uses it as more of a side and cover up for investigations by that point. Arumu also has turned into that one friend that's always over at Toukai's place so she's practically in the family but not officially, Toukai finds her antics tiring but accepts her anyways since Nanase and Misane are very fond of her, Toukai now has 3 homosexual detective kids!! (A lovely silly happy found family :33!!)

That being said there are some patterns:
Some people like to give Fluttershy muted colors (brown hair) so she doesn’t stand out. Unfortunately, in a world of pastel ponies, this only makes her stand out more.
People like giving Pinkie vitiligo patterns, often with human skin tones. This is also strange for the world of pastel ponies but it’s Pinkie so she gets a pass.
Rainbowdash is often colored very dark and gray. This is cool as the more vibrant hues of her mane pop out

Hiii I did that thing where introjects edit source images to how they remember their friends bc I felt silly. So heres how I remember everyone as a Vanessa introject + some memories I have of them :3
(if u dont know what introjects are I made a post u can read here! Also note that these are my Memories and will be different from canon!)
I dont remember Adam being much different from source, I didn't hang out one-on-one with him much unless we were hanging our with the group and we were left alone with each other in a room. He was chill I just didn't have much to talk with him about 😭
-His hair was black, unlike how ppl draw him with brown (/lh)
-His eyes were a very muted brown, almost grey looking
-He had very faint freckles and moles above and near his eyes
Kai I remember very vividly because I always went to his place on Sundays to play video games and try to beat him. We would bond over our shitty parents, our interest in tech, and how our Tism[TM] effected our relationships, I saw him as a little brother.
-His hair was a darker copper instead of brown
-His eyes were a dark green
-He had cuts on his hands from dismembering tech (his ass was NOT careful /ref)
-He had so many freckles. So many.
Mira was easy bc we have a Mira fictive in the sys as well so she just edited herself 😭 not much to say abt her aside from how we're dating in headspace and have memories of going on double dates with Adam and Kai :))
-She has a mix of a jellyfish haircut with curtain bangs, it's also a Lot fluffier than in source
-Her eyes are light green (so pretty. literally could stare at them for hours)
-She has a faint scar on her cheek, as well as SH scars on her arms and legs, which is why she covers them in source
-FRECKLES <33333
Reeve is an easy one too, we'd game together and try to one-up each other every time. He helped me dye my hair whenever my roots came in bc he could literally not comprehend seeing me blonde. In Hollow Life we would have annual smoke seshes in honor of Skeet whenever his death date came around.
-His hair was dark brown with a tint of black (he dyed it but it faded LMAO)
-His eyes were dark blue
-He had scars from the game (as we all do)
Skeet is harder to remember, my memories of him are fuzzy. He was my oldest friend, met him when I was 11 and we just clicked from there. His door was always open and he was always willing to listen when I needed it, he was just a great friend in general.
-His hair was more of a dustier yellow instead of that weird obnoxious yellow from source
-He had heterochromia, his left eye was green and right was blue
-He had scattered freckles
-Some cuts on his arms/hands from skateboarding, always had bandaids on him bc of falling
And that just leaves me last! I'm the same as Adam I think, not too unrecognizable from source but still different.
-My eyes are amber and more goldish than brown
-I have dark circles bc Insomnia Is A Bitch
-My shirt is a solid color in headspace instead of patterned with different shades of purple
-I have SH scars as well and I am Not ashamed of them nor do I cover them up
-I have a snaggle tooth that sticks out the side of my mouth. Just think Cat Tooth and thats it basically

"James Eastwood's son? Yeah.." Jimmy muttered. "James Eastwood Junior. Y'can tell now why I changed my name." He tried to laugh. "That bastard is where most'a these scars are from." He explained. At Tango's concerned look, he elaborated and lifted up his shirt a bit. "These burn scars are from th'fire I set after I killed 'em... didn' want no one findin' the evidence.. unfortunately, I got caught up in some'a the debris. I will say, while I don't regret killin' the bastard.. I regret runnin' away. Instead'a facin' what happens.."
Tango placed a worried hand on Jimmy's arm and sighs. "Who knows what would've happened to you, if you did stay.."

Honestly, I think faralex is pretty cute :] I don’t really go outta my way to ship it bc I feel like Farah deserves more attention just as a character outside of ships, but I def love seeing the cute art and fics of them!! (Daily alex keller is where i get like 99% of my faralex, alex and gazalex fix. We love daily ak in this blog. /lh)
Now for farah hcs 😇
• 100% overprotective of people she loves. She knows better than to actually physically fight someone, but, depending on how bad the situation was, she knows how to absolutely destroy someone socially and never get caught. Like, you pick on one of her brothers/sisters and suddenly the next day everyone thinks you cheated on your husband and egged someones house.
• Def does art. Not necessarily like stylised portraits or anything, just tends to carry around a pen and a scrap of paper on missions and doodle pretty sights or happy moments in her free time.
• Doesn’t actually braid her own hair. She tried to learn in the past, but it never really caught on for her. She usually gets one of her brothers or sisters to do it for her, otherwise just puts it into a quick bun when she needs to.
• Has an absolute bleeding heart for animals. Will totally go out of her way to give food to stray cats and dogs wherever she goes, and if she settles down, the local stray animal population 100% crowds at her door every morning for snacks.
• Probably tried to adopt wild animals as a kid. Gave her parents a heart attack when her little 5 yo self walked in with a baby brown bear staring silently at them.
• Has a lot of scars. Obviously a lot of them are from missions and work, but surprisingly most of them are from stupid childhood stuff. Like, you could leave her alone in a padded room for a whole five seconds and you come back to at least three broken objects, something inedible in her mouth and a massive scrape across both of her arms. She wasn’t a stupid kid, just way too curious for her own good with absolutely no survival instinct.
• The master of gifts. Like, for birthdays and holidays, everyone just eagerly awaits her gifts because she somehow nails exactly what they want, even if they don’t ask her or suggest anything.
• Unintentional queen of gossip. She encourages people to come to her with info because she trusts herself to compile it and store anything important, but 99% of the time she only has drama being told to her. Like, sure, she could tell you the exact details of enemy movements to the centimetre, but she could also tell you about why Fatima broke up with her third boyfriend and how it was definitely his fault.
• Loves customising her appearance in little ways. She’ll have new nail designs and cute little hair bobbles and stuff like that pretty much daily. Def wants to dye her hair or do intricate makeup, but it’s just not practical or safe with her work.
• Hates ladders when they’re stood up by themself. She’s completely fine when they’re leaning on a steady surface, but otherwise put her anywhere above the second step and she’s shaking like a dog on a cat tower.
• Loves sleeping w people platonically. Just enjoys the safety of not being alone and trusts herself to look after the other person while they’re so vulnerable.
• Always doing something with her hands, from fidgeting with her hair, clothes, ect to just constant gestures while talking. Probably knows how to sew, knit, crochet, crack her fingers loud enough to wake the whole base, the lot.
• Is the kinda person who almost never get sick to the point where their immune system is a myth to their friends/family - until they get absolutely knocked out by the most vicious virus you’ve seen (and then bounce back after a few weeks somehow completely fine, like nothing happened).
• Just outright refuses to sleep with a blanket. Will tolerate a quilt, but absolutely refuses blankets. She loves to cuddle up in one while hanging out in the day or just unwinding, but literally can’t sleep at all with one.
• Can’t sit normally for the life of her. Put her on a chair and after maybe five minutes, her legs are each laid over a different end of the chair and she’s hanging from it upside down. /j
• Loves lego sets, just never gets to have them. Imagine that joke of giving guys that lego star wars falcon or sumt ship set and they’ll be completely distracted with it, just turn it up tenfold and add a little more rage.
• Has nightmares over the stupidest stuff. Like, there’s all that trauma nightmare material for her brain to feast on yet she wakes up in a cold sweat over a dream of serial killing cornflakes.
• Can’t massage for shit but is like the base’s personal chiropractor. You complain about your back aching? Five minutes later you’ve been folded perfectly over a table, each one of the joints in your body cracking with a decibel count similar to that of a volcanic eruption and your bones suddenly fresh as the day you were born.
• Holds really good game night kinda things. On an especially long stakeout, she’ll whip out a couple hoarded snacks and a deck of cards and it’s like a family game night all over.
• Surprisingly sentimental. She tries to avoid having too many, if any, personal objects just because she knows she’ll probably have to leave them behind eventually, even if her situation is stable at that moment. She totally has a favourite gun with a name that she treats like her firstborn child, though.
• Has no idea how to comfort people but is somehow absolutely amazing at it. You could be bawling your eyes out, experiencing literally the worst day of your life, whole world crumbling around you, and she’d just sit there in a too-long silence with a hesitant hand on your shoulder, awkwardly mumbling ‘there, there’, and it would inexplicably be the most comforting sensation you’d ever experienced. She just gives off a warm, cosy kinda energy.
• Gleeks on command. Just for funsies.
• Refuses to use any kind of non-manual toothbrushes (electric, sonic, ect). She just hates the feel of them in her mouth.
• Rages pretty easily but refuses to show that in front of her brothers & sisters. Likes to be a kind of role model to them so avoids being overly violent or rude like the plague (generally isn’t either of those without good cause, but esp not with them).
• Overanalyses things for fun. Partly as a bit of a military habit, but she also enjoys deep diving into the things she loves and explores loads of different ideas/meanings to them, and is really passionate about them. It also gives her a kinda fulfilled, safe feeling that honestly my girl deserves more of 😭 /lh

Dear purp anon, and any other anon who wants to learn how to write smut,
My personal pro tip that I’ve been using: don’t make it about the sex.
Like, for me, I take one aspect of the interaction, and that’s what I focus on. I make that the blueprint, the outline. That specific aspect is what the interaction is about, and the sex is merely the means of how it happens.
Being on multiple spectrums myself, when I used to try and just write porn, it always turned Out bad. It didn’t flow, I wasn’t invested, the spark wasn’t there. The sex wasn’t enough. So I shifted focus. I made it, not about the sex itself, but about the character dynamics.
Actually I can fully thank blame bluie and the other anons here for making me realize how to actually write porn. (/lh)
I think this is seen best in that first big post I did with mommy grian and daddy scar and sub mumbo. When I wrote it I purposefully wasn’t thinking about the sex, but how this affects their established dynamics.
This also translates into other kinds of fics too! Take angst for example. If you enter that fic saying “this fic is about scar and grian getting into a fight” ur not really gonna go very far. Instead, you think WHY are they fighting? How do their issues manifest? How does their dynamic as partners in crime affect what they do?
Does that make sense?? Fuck I hope so

This is part 2 of this said post by the way!!
Finally it's time to post some info about the little skinny legend that by himself is searching for a bigger, skinnier legend... (wait uhhh- that sounded wrong-)
-It is hinted at/implied that he could be on the spectrum (w what am I talking about hinted at/implied?! This is my OC for petesake!! Hell, I could very much make him on the spectrum if I wanted to! /lh)
-He was born in 1991, therefore he is canonically (if we say the movie takes place in 2023) 32 years old. (so don't even try to pair him with any of the young cast or I will throw you in a river)
-His main role model he looks up to is his late-grandpappy, who used to serve in the millitary as a sailor before retirement, and during his time in work he went to several places around the world through boat. When Ward was a toddler to a young kid he used to spend time with him, and eventually gained aspiration to be just like his grandpapps one day.
-He is not actually fully brittish (I lied, feel free to beat me up), his mother is (or uhhh, was) actually Russian while his father is (was) Brittish, therefore he is a Russian-Brittish immigrant (and somehow during his whole life he didn't learn to speak with an American OR Russian accent, but he does sometimes mix up spelling between the two languages and two spelling ways he knows)
-After the incident for a long time he was banned from ever taking foot off the town and onto the sea ever again, however after taking jobs working on cleaning boats this got slightly redirected and he did infact got the license to use a boat, however only as a fisherman, also he has to wear a electronic ankle-tag while doing it which will infact electrocute him if he goes within a certain radius away from the sea, and will call the nearby workers on the shore to get him away from the ocean (this unfortunately happens a lot due to mishaps to the point this has became such a common practice that sooner or later he might lose his job....d_d b_b...writes this down for ideas) -
-Especially after the incident both his parents grew a deep-disappointment towards him, and this caused him to never be able to reconcile with either of them. Sadly during his 20s, both of them passed away, which was another reason why he had to pick up the fisherman role by taking down the legacy of the job from the family. (Fatherless behavior, Motherless behavior)
-When he was 15-16 (the same age Ruby is rn), he took in the part-time job of being a obstacle-waxer and skatepark cleaner when skateboarding started becoming a craze around the town and they had to construct a park for it. He still has this part-time job as to this day to get more money.
-The reason why his coat is green is because he vividly remembers the incident so much that he could even recount what kind of hue the sea-monster was. This could be because of a way to cope and/or because he believes he became more monster in the process, so he must dress a bit like them in respect for gaining such knowledge of the outside world. (hmmm I wonder which character is green in the movie I wonder.......)
-His several jobs and his dream to find a kraken and to gain knowledge from it on how to be a correct monster might've lead him to be more athletically better and have a better balance but this is irrevelant and won't come back at all in anytime whatsoever.
-He honestly made up a belief that the mermaids in the movie that are told in legends are actually sirens due to their more devious and wrathful nature, while "true" mermaids are actually divine in form, a genuine pleasing to the eye and have the ability to heal one's mind from all the pain (And by "true" mermaids he actually means big shark men who he has like hundreds of posters of plastered around his house, all posing in awfully suspicious positions- Whoopsie doodle!!!)
-He still has the scar from the incident on his forehead, it's just concealed by his hair.
-He always has the stupid ass sailor-tie on his neck, and if he doesn't have it on, then that means something is wrong with him internally
-He watches Shape Of Water avidly.
-Ward collects all his research around his house and sometimes in documented books he created himself (out-of-movie merchandise potentiality!!! Marcy Wu style!!!)
-He still uses a big box computer despite the fact it's 2023
-His house compared to the other buildings in the movie is more outdated, representing how he's still stuck within his pasts beliefs while everyone else has moved on (his house gets destroyed during the climax btw!!!)
-He likes big harmonica music like sailormen do, 1940s to 1980s music and a little bit of 2000s songs
