I'm not in 100 years reading wind, so what's the nightstar stuff as well as the harelight execution scene?

The Nightstar Stuff is that they're constantly making it clear they KNOW that cats can lie about getting the 9 lives, they KNOW that a murderer can receive the lives, and they KNOW that StarClan has never rejected an evil cat before... but then they handwave it away because they don't wanna do anything.

Nightstar/Nightpelt gets namedropped six times and vaguely alluded to a dozen more, but it means nothing to the story. You could have just forgotten him entirely and the plot would happen the same way.

Most of this book is the leaders finding excuses to sit on their butts, but I really only need to share one exchange to demonstrate just HOW stupid this is,

Okay, can we take a minute to talk about how gay Dr. Henry Jekyll is? Like seriously this man literally created an entire alter ego by some mad science just because of some 'dark urges' he felt, that he refused to elaborate on even in his own 'let me tell you everything before I die' note to John. That is peak queer behavior for the 1800's.

Even if he wasn't his staff probably thought he was. Just put yourself in their shoes. Your master has this secret male friend that comes at all hours of the night, only has a key to the back door and at least once slept in the same bed as the doctor before sneaking out said back door in the early morning. And you were told to obey him and he often comes over by the back door when the doctor is 'away' even though you know damn well he went to his cabinet, reachable by the back door, and didn't say anything about leaving. That is so queer coded behavior. Like baby doll, doctor, you dumb dumb scientific genius you're making it so easy to call you out.

i know we all love to think of runa as someone who is just as sweet and lovely as yachi but what if she's a little unhinged. she's the manager for what's essentially a team of frat bros. what if the first time she met terushima she burped in his face and he was so impressed that he dragged her to the gym and was like "hana guess what i found us a new manager!" meanwhile runa's like wtf is happening did i just burp in an upperclassman's face.

any other asian/poc sunny fans in awe of how popular the "solves the north korea situation" episode still is. not rcg perpetuating the infantilization of asian women (as if an asian child looks the same as an asian woman right?) and the tiger mom stereotype, having a scene where an asian person just happens to know martial arts, and having the asian characters speak in super exaggerated accents all in one episode (listen to tania's/sun li's real accent here). and then when it came to talk about it in the podcast they were half apologetic but mostly embarrassed/awkward for like 2 minutes and then kinda just moved past it. "our hearts were in the right place." it's all so different from when they portray the gang doing racist things because in this case they're portraying asian people as though they're Like That (in this universe).
