"Luisa!" Alma called out to her strongest grandchild. "The Sanchez's need help moving boxes of wine from their basement for the celebration tonight, if you aren't too busy could you stop by and help?"
"On my way Abuela!" Luisa called back to her grandmother, trying her best to remain composed and not sprint to your house.
You were new to Encanto, your family had moved to the small paradise just a week ago and although she'd never actually spoken to you, Luisa was infatuated. You were the talk of town, everyone wanted a chance to spend time with the sweet, pretty new girl and today was her turn. You we're waiting on the front steps when she'd arrived,
"Hola Luisa," you smiled as she approached. "It's so nice to finally meet you!"
Oh goodness. Your voice was like the harmony of angels, she thought it was impossible for you to be so perfect but here you were, defying her expectations. Her mind went into overdrive as you met her half way with open arms, she'd die if you hugged her.
"Sorry," you laughed, stopping when you noticed the petrified look in her eyes. "I'm a hugger and sometimes I forget that not everyone is okay with that! I'm Y/N, come in, please. I'll show you to the basement."
Luisa mentally kicked herself while you led her inside. She didn't have a problem with hugs in fact, she loved hugs! You were just something else entirely and she was scared that you'd feel her heart pounding against her chest if you hugged her.
"Thank you for helping out with this, I'm sure you have more pressing things to do, but it means a lot. Mamá and papá are getting older and I'd move them myself if I could, but unfortunately I'm not as amazingly strong as you are."
She blushed at your compliment, turning away in hopes that you couldn't see how red her face was.
"It's no problem really, it's my duty to help everyone in town and seeing as though you're in town now, it's my duty to help you too," she responded, rather awkwardly.
You turned on the lights when you made it to the basement. There wasn't much down there apart from several cases filled with bottles of wine that occupied most of the space.
"Wow," she whistled. "I've never seen this much alcohol in my life, you guys must drink a lot," she froze. "I mean- not that you seem like an alcoholic, its just that...it's a lot of wine so..."
You laughed as she stumbled over her words,
"You're funny you know that? My parents manufactured wine back home, so we've always had a lot of it in the house. Thinking back on it now, maybe we drank a little much. I'll lift one side you lift the-"
You stopped talking when she picked up two crates, one in each arm, with ease now you were the one wowing.
"I heard around town that you could lift a church, but I thought it was a weird figure of speech!" you exclaimed, eyes wide in amazement. "You're awesome Luisa."
She was blushing again, why did you have to say things like that? The Madrigal woman rushed up the stairs to avoid your gaze, finding you struggling to hold several bottles of wine when she returned.
"What are you doing?" she asked, biting back a laugh.
"I'm helping," you grinned, although still struggling with the bottles. "I'm not just gonna leave you to do all of this by yourself, super strength or not, you're doing me a favor, the least I can do is help you out."
Luisa's heart skipped, no one ever helped her with her chores before, they'd all just assumed that she was strong enough to do it on her own and she was, but your actions made her warm inside.
"You know I'm-" she lunged forward to catch a bottle that fell from your arms at the same time that you dropped down for it. She hadn't realized how close you'd gotten until she looked back up at you, your noses were almost touching.
"Hi," you smiled, prompting her to launch herself backwards, glass shattering between you.
She landed with a small thud as you looked at her concerned,
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, are you alright?"
She nodded frantically, trying to sound nonchalant as she spoke,
"I'm great, why would anything be wrong?"
She didn't miss the strange look you gave her before walking up the stairs, wine in your arms. She gave herself a mental pep talk, if she kept acting like this you'd think she was a weirdo and that was the last thing she wanted you to think. Picking up two more crates, she made her way outside, you didn't say another word when she passed. You were cleaning the wine off the floor when she returned, she scolded herself for staring at you for too long.
"I'm the one that dropped it, shouldn't I be the one cleaning it up?" she asked. "I'm sorry about that by the way, I don't know what's wrong with me today."
"I can clean it, there's nothing to worry about Luisa," you dropped the last shards of glass into a dustpan, ascending the stairs to dispose of the mess.
You didn't say another word at all until all the boxes we're outside, so it was too late, you already thought she was weird,
"Thank you again for your help," you finally spoke once in front of your house. "And I'm sorry again if I made you uncomfortable, it wasn't my intention."
"You didn't make me uncomfortable Y/N, I'm sorry I'm being weird you're just really pret- cool!" she corrected herself, startling you with her booming voice, "Cool, you're really cool and-and," she was spiraling, why did you have to smile at her like that.
"Luisa! The donkey's got out again!" Osvaldo whined, something she never thought she'd be happy to hear.
"Will I see you tonight?" you asked, grinning up at the woman in front of you.
"Maybe," she blushed, staring at you just a second too long. "I'll see you tonight Y/N!"
"Maybe!" you responded.
Luisa walked away with a dopey smile on her face, not even upset that she had to collect the donkey's for the third time that week.
"What was that?" Mirabel smirked at her sister, seeming to come out of nowhere.
"What are you talking about? Where did you even come from?" Luisa asked, collecting her first donkey.
"You're just really cool Y/N," she mocked. "Come on Luisa that's textbook what you say to someone you have a crush on!"
Luisa stopped, hoisted another mammal onto her back, and glared at her younger sibling,
"We've only talked one time Mira, I don't have a crush on her."
"So you wouldn't mind if I asked her out?"
"Don't be ridiculous, she's too old for you."
"Yeah, but she's perfect for you!"
"Mirabel please," another donkey on the pile. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for the party tonight?"
"Luisa!" you yelled, causing both women to turn, but only one to smirk.
"H-hey Y/N," the strong woman stuttered, causing Mirabel's mouth dropped open as she pointed an accusitory finger at her sister. "What's up?"
"Would it be okay if I meet you before the celebration? I'm not very close with anyone in town yet and being at a big party surrounded by strangers doesn't sound like a very good time. I'd feel much better being with someone I know and like."
Luisa faltered, staring at you wide eyed for seconds that lasted hours, your cheeks warmed in embarrassment and you redacted your statement frantically.
"If you're not okay with it that's totally fine too! I just figured th-"
"She'd love to meet you!" Mirabel exclaimed, not allowing the chance to pass her sister by.
All Luisa could do was nod in agreement as she scoured her entire mind for the right thing to say. She couldn't make words happen though, so she just stared at Mirabel, hoping she'd save her as she floundered.
"She'll meet you in front of your place at 6!"
"Thank you Mirabel," you spoke softly, cheeks still hot with humiliation. "But I completely understand if she isn't comfortable spending her night with a stranger-" you were cut off once more.
"I'd love to!" Luisa exclaimed. "I'm sorry, I'm just shocked that you want to spend your night with me. I'm sure a lot of people in town would love to be in my position right now," she realized what she'd said. "Because...you're so cool."
Your eyes lit up and when you smiled, so did Luisa.
"You're so cool! I'll see you tonight?"
"6 o'clock, your place, I'll see you then."
The second you were out of earshot, Mirabel clasped her hands together in excitement.
"Luisa! Do you know what just happened?! You have a date!" she squealed.
Luisa rolled her eyes,
"It isn't a date, you heard her Mirabel, she just doesn't want to be alone."
"Yeah, that's what she said, but she's talked to me plenty of times! I was standing right here, but she wanted to go with you!"
"Mirabel please, I have to get the rest of the donkey's and I can't do that if you're distracting me. It isn't a date, I don't have a crush, and you should be getting ready for tonight."
"Sure it isn't," the younger of the two sisters winked before wandering off home.
--
Luisa was so nervous her head was spinning by the time she made it up to your door. She had just raised her hand to knock when it swung open, nerves leaving her the second she saw your bright, contagious smile.
"Hi Luisa," you spoke, stepping out and closing the door behind you.
"Hey, ready to go?"
The walk was quiet, Luisa just couldn't think of anything to say. She didn't know why, but her mind went blank when she was around you. All she could think about was how pretty you looked and how good you smelled and...oh no.
"Hey Luisa?" you asked, directing her focus back to you and away from her own thoughts. "You look really pretty tonight."
She choked on air at your words, unsure of what to say next, not that it was surprising anymore.
"Uh, thanks, you look pretty too."
The second you stepped into Casita, you were confronted by both of her sisters, Isabela gave Luisa a smug look.
"Hey little sis, who's your date?"
"Actually Isa it isn't a d-"
"I'm Y/N," you interrupted, excited to intoduce yourself. "It's nice to meet you! Hola Mirabel," you waved at the youngest sibling.
"Nice to meet you too Y/N," the flower powered sibling spoke in the sickliest, sweetest tone she could muster. "I'm Isabela and you are seriously gorgeous, what's your hair routine?"
Luisa glared as her Isa flattered you, she knew exactly what her sisters were doing and it wasn't going to work. The two of you spoke for minutes on end, well Isa talked while you listened, easily falling into her older siblings charm. When the music started, you practically jumped away from Isabela, turning back to the brunette,
"I love this song! Can we dance?"
Dancing? Together? Luisa's whole body caught fire at the thought of being so close to you, but she had to compose herself, it was just a dance between friends.
"I'd love to dance, let's go," she reached for your hand instinctivley, eager to get you away from her sister.
It didn't surprise her how well you moved on the dance floor, she felt everyone's eyes on you. Each sway of your hips, every flow of your skirt, everytime you spun around and looked at her with those smoldering eyes, she'd pass out if you kept looking at her like that. She kept you at arms length, too scared of what would happen if you got too close, but she was confronted with that scenario rather quickly, when you flew into her chest. She panicked as your body pressed against hers completely and took you by your shoulders, putting distance between you once more.
"I'm sorry that wasn't me it was-" you looked down at what sent you flying. "A flower?"
"I'll be right back," she huffed, marching up to her older sister and pulling her away from the crowd. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to help you win the girl! Because honestly, you're killing it out there with her, and not in a good way."
"I don't need your help 'getting the girl' I'm fully capable of doing that myself!"
"So you do like her! I knew it, your a nervous wreck around her! You practically threw her off of you when she fell-"
"You mean when you pushed her? Isa, I don't have a crush on her I just think she's-"
"You just think she's cool," Isabela mocked, giving her sibling deja vu. "Why did you come here with her then?"
"Because she asked me too, I'm just doing her a favor! Even if I did like her, she only wanted me to come with her because she didn't want to be alone. She doesn't see me like that."
"Oh yeah?" you spoke behind them, panic washed over the muscular woman. "Says who?"
Isa's mouth hung open at the sight of you, a wide, goofy smile on your face, wine glass in your hand. Luisa wanted launch herself off the mountains of Encanto.
"I'm gonna go," Isa spoke, rushing away from you pair after whispering 'good luck' to her sister.
Luisa took your hand, you couldn't talk about what you needed to here. She led you to her door, leaning against it as silence befell you.
"I didn't just come with you tonight because I didn't want to be alone. I just said that because I didn't think you'd agree to come as my date," you confessed. "You've been acting like I'm some deadly disease since we met, but I'm just glad its because I make you nervous and not because your appauled by me."
She said nothing back to you, she was too busy reeling from your confession. You offered her the wine after moments of quiet usually Luisa didn't like to drink, but tonight was different, so she took the bottle and took a large gulp of its contents. The liquid was bitter on her tongue, but gave her the confidence boost she needed to break the silence that fell over you.
"You make me nervous because you're just so-"
"Cool?" you chuckled. "Luisa, you don't have to do this if-"
"Y/N please," she interupted. "I want to do this."
You stayed silent, watching her closely as she tried to regain her edge,
"You're so pretty," you sucked in a breath as she continued. "And sweet and caring. You helped me with my chores today, no one's ever offered to help me before. I know this is sudden and I'm probably freaking you out because we just met, but you're so special. I can just feel it, since the second I saw you you've been making me all stupid inside. I've never really felt this way around anyone, I'm usually so strong and confident, but you make me feel the exact opposite of that. I can't think right when you're around, when you smile at me it's like my brain is melting and pouring out of my ears. I'm helpless when you compliment me and I feel like I'm gonna explode when you touch me. I'm just so scared of messing up that I completely messed things up and-"
She was silenced by your lips pressing themselves to her cheek with a gentle kiss. She buried her face in her hands, not wanting you to see how bright red it was, although it was probably glowing in the darkness.
"You didn't ruin anything Luisa, I just didn't know you felt that way, I want nothing more than to become closer, maybe we can go out sometime?"
She smiled, standing and holding a hand out to you,
"How about right now? Do you wanna go back to the party...as my date?"
It was your turn to blush now, you turned away from her, the bright, contagious smile she loved to see spreading across your features once more. You took her hand and she pulled you to your feet, not letting go as you walked,
"Is this okay?" she asked, unsure if she was moving too fast.
"It's perfect," you smiled, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.
Isa and Mirabel held hands as they jumped around, the sight of their sister with her crush exciting them, first because she was happy and second because they were right (obviously). Luisa rolled her eyes but didn't pay them much attention as you pulled her back onto the dance floor. You grabbed both of the brunettes hands, placing them on your hips as you danced. She panicked internally, your skin was so warm even under the fabric of your clothing. You made her feel free, like a child with no worries in the world, the people around melted away as you swayed. Her mind wandered to where she would take you after tonight, unbeknownst to her, you already had your next few dates planned.

Luisa is so cute, I just want to protect her from everything bad in this world. ♡
Have your siblings or friends ever embarrassed you in front of your crush?

Come Back Home (A Kim Taehyung Mafia AU) // Part 7
Absolutely unedited, apologies!
Summary: You were dead. Or at least that's what Kim Taehyung thought. But love never dies. A myth, yes. And maybe that's why when he finds out that you are alive, he may have already lost you.
Pairing: Mafia!Taehyung×Reader
Tumblr media
You stepped inside the dainty pie shop, the smell of cake filling your nostrils. It was quite a contrast from the cold air outside, your eyes wide in amazement. There were multiple flower pots sitting along the window, basking in the little sunlight that came in through the glass. There were a few people occupying the tables in the middle, leaving the one by the window vacant. You glanced at Minho over your shoulder before moving to sit where you wanted to, the roses and the morning glorys all calling out your name.
You were taking a trip of all the places that you liked going to previously, you remembered some of them, Minho remembered some of them for you. You could say your day had been well spent so far. Surprisingly, it wasn't too hard to talk to Minho about anything.
No awkward sentences. No nervous glances.
For a while, your mind had danced away from the thoughts of your diary and you were living your life quite nicely. Yes, once in a while you'd think of Taehyung or Jungkook or even Yoona, but you weren't too keen about knowing the truth for now.
An old lady went around the eatery, asking people if they needed anything until her eyes landed on you. Minho was sat on the opposite side of the table, his back to the old woman with greying hair as she gasped and rushed towards you. Your eyes widened in confusion, an awkward smile placing itself on your lips, her eyes telling you that she knew you.
And you didn't.
A pang of sadness poured over your heart, your smile faltering even if it was for a millisecond. The woman was now standing beside your table, her hands clasped as a wide grin showed you her pearly whites. "Y/N, my darling, it's been so long." She squealed, her arms reluctantly stretching wide open for you to embrace her. You glanced at Minho, a simple nod from him told you that he probably knew her too. He trusted her with you. So you stood up and wrapped your arms around her back, her own going to the back of your head. Your eyes closed automatically, her scent giving you warmth and a sense of familiarity. Before you could comprehend your own actions, your hands tightened around her, making her laugh. It was nice. Her laugh was nice.
"How have you been?" She asked, pulling away. You bit your lip, tucking your hair behind your ear. Her question was simple, wasn't it? Then why couldn't you answer it?
Because you didn't know.
"So you missed her but not me?" Minho interrupted, narrowing his eyes at the old woman playfully. You mentally sighed, grateful for his interruption. The old woman turned towards him with a shake of her head, her smile still the same. You zoned out, your thoughts drifting away to the glass counter that had a number of pies aligned inside. Concluding that you probably won't be needed in this conversation for a bit, you slowly walked towards the counter and peeped inside, staring at the cakes and pies in awe.
"Why would people eat something so sweet?" His deep voice rang in your ear, causing you to roll your eyes. Your nose was pressed against the glass, your breathing fogging it up for a second until it became clean again. You turned your head to the side, narrowing your eyes at him while he leaned against the wall nearby. His eyes bore into yours, his brown hair covering his forehead and an annoyed sigh leaving his mouth. You placed your hands on your hips, raising an eyebrow at him as if to challenge him. "Because unlike you, people actually wanna enjoy life. Do you not know how happy sweet things make you?" You asked, frowning when his lips stretched into a smile. He took one long step towards you, his arms immediately going around your waist. Your heart skipped a beat, blood rushing to your cheeks as your eyes frantically looked around for anyone watching you two.
"Taehyung…" You mumbled, his nose brushing against your cheek. He hummed, his lips moving right next to your ear. "I have this sweet little thing here who makes me very happy. So yes, I do know how amazing sweet things are." He replied, making you close your eyes at the way your heart swooned. You nuzzled your head in his neck, trying to hide your shy smile. You heard him chuckle, his hand caressing the back of your head before his lips met your forehead. "I love you…"
"Earth to Y/N." You gasped, your eyes darting to Minho who stood behind you with concerned eyes. You looked around the shop, realising that you had just seen the same thing in your dream. Dream?
Was that really a dream?
"Did you...say something?" You asked, rubbing your forehead on feeling a subtle ache beginning to settle. Minho pursed his lips, glancing at the old lady who now stood beside you. She placed a hand on your shoulder making you look at her. "You look pale, Y/N. Are you not feeling well?" She asked. You shook your head in response, mustering up your most genuine smile although her face told you didn't believe you.
"I was just wondering if I could get a slice of that blueberry pie." You stated, pointing at the delicious looking pie placed at the middle of the bottom row. You mentally patted your back.
Good save, Y/N.
But what now? You had to talk to someone about that ... dream, right? It felt too familiar to call it a dream. It could be real for all you knew. Maybe Taehyung and your relationship was much deeper than he let you believe. Maybe Jungkook was referring to Taehyung when he said that everyone around you was lying. You placed your hand inside the pocket of your jacket, the piece of paper inside making you calmer than before. Of course it did. It was his number.
"Is that it? Should have asked me sooner, darling!" The old woman chirped, making her way behind the counter and getting your order ready as she rambled on about something that you didn't want to know. It was sad that you didn't remember her at all. And here you thought you were having a good day.
"Tell me, Y/N, where is that hot headed lover of yours?" Your attention was back on her as she placed the slice of pie in front of you on a small pastel pink plate. Her words had you growing confused, your eyes moving to Minho who stood frozen beside you. Does this mean….
"You talk as if I'm invisible." He mumbled, gulping nervously. You could tell he was trying to hide something, absolutely failing to do so. Your eyes narrowed at him, your brain malfunctioning as you tried to figure out what the hell was going on. So everyone was lying around you? Great. You really needed to go and read your diary before someone tweaked that too.
"Nonsense. If it was you, I'd remember. I'm talking about that tall man with the deep voice."
It had to be Taehyung. Yes, Minho was tall but his voice wasn't deep at all. Your fists clenched unknowingly, your head throbbing as you glared at the floor. Did you not deserve to know the truth about your own life?
💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤
Yoona sat curled up on the couch, her eyes fixed on the fireplace as her mind replayed all the things that had happened since the morning. She really was a fool for falling for that bastard. He was good for nothing and she knew that now. Unfortunately, her temper wasn't the best either.
After Eunho had demanded Yoona to bring you to him, she had screamed and pushed him away, yelling that it would be over her dead body. That wasn't the best thing to do but she wasn't in her right mind. All the things she had done to bring you back, only for Eunho to take it all away? No. Never.
Eunho was a very egoistic man and he took everything seriously. Yoona's words hit him badly, his anger getting the best of him as he landed a sharp slap across her cheek. She could still feel her cheek throbbing but it was nothing compared to the fear that had settled within her. Eunho was truly crazy. Yoona had witnessed it all and she knew there was only so much she could do to protect you. Maybe she had to let Taehyung know.
With a heavy sigh, she stood up and grabbed her jacket. Switching off all the lights, she headed out the door, concluding that she needed to distract herself before her head exploded. Yoona was aware that you were out with Minho and she could only hope that you were having a good time. If by any chance you happened to like Minho then her lies won't have to be lies anymore. She could get rid of Eunho with Taehyung's help and soon he would be out of your life too. Yoona smiled, feeling her confidence grow as she made her way to her favourite club. Alcohol was her best friend when she was lost. Whenever she was drunk, her problems became easier to deal with. No, she wasn't an addict but she could definitely see herself being one in the future. Anything for her best friend.
💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤
Minho cursed under his breath, taking off his seatbelt and getting out of the car. He was going back home with you when he had gotten a call from someone, telling him that his sister had passed out after drinking too many shots at her regular bar. As if Minho had less problems, Yoona had to go and do this?
The entire car ride was filled with uncomfortable silence. You hadn't said a word to him since what had happened in that pie shop. Minho knew he shouldn't have taken you there but it used to be your favourite place. He still remembered how you used to eat a lot whenever you were upset. It wasn't really his fault for not knowing that you had shown that place to Taehyung, was it?
Minho glanced at you from the open door, frowning apologetically at you.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. Just stay here and I'll get Yoona, alright?" He rushed inside the building, not even waiting for your response. You were exhausted and you just wanted to sleep. You couldn't bring yourself to ask Minho what that woman meant. Mainly because you didn't trust him to be honest with you anymore. You sighed and pulled your legs up on the leather seat, tucking your knees under your chin as you stared out the window. It was dark outside, the cars on the road slowly lessening in number. That pie shop ended up being a little too far from your house, half of your day having been spent inside the car.
A sudden ding caused you to flinch, your eyes falling on the phone that lay on the driver's seat. It was Minho's. You bit your lip nervously, slowly wrapping your fingers around the sleek metal as you lifted it up. To your surprise, it was unlocked. An idea nagged at you, your fingers itching to take out the paper from your pocket. You didn't have anything to lose anyway.
And what will you say to him?
You frowned, trying to come up with an answer. But there was none. What would you say?
'Hey, I just called to say good night.'
You winced in embarrassment. With a defeated groan, you held the phone loosely, giving up on the brilliant idea you had.
The overwhelming silence in the car was making you feel suffocated, your hands unlocking the door for you to get some air. You placed the phone in your pocket, saving it from the risk of getting stolen. It was getting colder with every passing second, the occasional slurring of drunk people stumbling out of the bar made you shiver. It was definitely not safe alone on the streets. You wondered what was taking Minho so long. He only had to bring Yoona back, right?
The blaring music from inside made you curious. You had definitely been to clubs before but it had been too long. You knew you shouldn't be going in at all, considering your health but you just wanted to take a look. Looking for Minho could easily be used as an excuse to go inside and look around. Before you knew it, your feet were taking you towards the large and intimidating bouncers who looked like they were not going to let you inside, no matter what you said.
You swallowed thickly, taking a step back when one of them glared at you before a look of recognition passed over his features. He nudged his partner, your brows meeting in confusion as both of them smiled at you and lost their intimidating posture.
"Ms Y/L/N! Would you like to go inside? Mr Kim hasn't shown up today but I'm sure he will do that eventually. He has been making his rounds here every night." The one with jet black hair stated, making you widen your eyes momentarily. What? Mr Kim? So you had been here before and they knew you well?
You were about to speak up when a loud BANG echoed inside the club followed by screaming. Your blood ran cold, the bouncers in front of you mirroring your wide eyes as they ran inside, leaving you to wonder what just happened.
That was certainly a gunshot, you could tell. And...oh no! Minho and Yoona. With bated breath, you rushed inside, tears pooling your eyes when you saw people running over each other in an attempt to leave. You could smell the blood, your mind taking you back to the basement. Your eyes frantically looked around the crowd, spotting a couple people who had been shot and a couple of them holding guns. Your hands trembled, your feet frozen in place. You just couldn't move until you saw one of the gun holders holding his gun against Minho's forehead, his head drooping towards the floor and a drunk Yoona passed out on the floor nearby.
The crowd was still there, making it hard for you to make your way towards your friends. The music had stopped and now it was just screams and cries of pain. The attackers were masked, the dark club not helping you identify them either. One of them was standing on the bar counter, searching for someone in the crowd. You were ready to go be a hero when his eyes stopped at you, his mouth stretching wide into a grin.
"I found her!" He yelled, alarming everyone in the room. Your heart picked up it's pace, Minho and Yoona no longer your concern. You blended into the crowd, ducking as the masked men jumped in the mass of bodies to find you. You glanced at a dark hallway, assuming that it was probably the way to the bathrooms. With a shaky breath, you lunged forward, hearing another gunshot booming behind you. You were quick to enter the bathroom and locked the door as best you could. It seemed as if no one had seen you since there was no one banging on the door for now. Your head was pounding and so was your heart. You looked at the long mirror, breaking down into sobs as you fell to the floor. Why were they after you?
You ran your fingers through your tangled hair, closing your eyes and trying to come up with your next move. After a beat of silence, you heard the familiar ding of Minho's phone in your pocket, your eyes lighting up with hope. You took out the phone with shaky hands and pulled out the piece of paper, a tear sliding down your cheek and onto it. You dialled his number, placing the phone next to your ear and praying that he picked up on time. A few rings later, a click sounded, indicating that your prayers had been answered.
"Taehyung, help me…"

Idol!Taehyung x Reader
Tumblr media
⤷ Genre: angst,fluff,humour
⤷Idol!Taehyung x Reader
⤷Summary: (Y/n) thought she could make it without having the world’s most favourite boy by her side even though she can call him officially hers. This wavy relationship always had its ups and downs.
Part 1, Part 2
Tumblr media
Being in a relationship with an idol was never easy and the whole world knows that obviously.(y/n) is anxious and terrified every time he takes her out for a date but with the paparazzis have their eyes on everywhere is harder than taking an entrance examination. In result she never got the relationship she always wanted- hold hands in public, taking on vacations together just the simple domestic lives, really. But all they can do now is just contacting through text messages, sees each other through video calls.
It was selfish of her of course to ever think of ending the relationship but she loves him too much to do it however her heart is aching so bad. This issue is always the major problem of their heated arguments, their endless fights until one day it happen again in unfortunate way.
"Be my girlfriend."
Ha?
(Y/n) almost choked on the milk tea she is having for a short break. She looks up to see Yuta staring right into her eyes with a smile but serious gaze along with it. She gulps the liquid whilst wiping her lips,
"What?" Was all she managed to choked,
"Be my girlfriend, you know i like you since months ago." The Japanese bluntly pointed out.
"Very funny,Yuta." She tries to brush it off, averting his gaze trying to play it cool.
"I'm serious,(y/n)" He leans in, propping his folded arms onto the table
"I mean-you're beautiful,funny and talented hells,you're a girl every guys wanted,this is my chance,isn't it?"
Her cheeks heated up,clearing her throat, "Thanks Yuta but you know—i uhm..."
I already have a boyfriend
With his eyes staring intently at her waiting impatiently for the answer, she grew even more nervous, she have to look for an excuse!
"I'm not really..in the time to look for a relationship right now you see.."
"Hmm.." The male nod in understanding with a hum, "If you feel like one, give me a call, yeah?" He teased but meant it at the same time causing her to burst out into laughter
"In your dreams,Nakamoto."
"It's fine to dream then if there is you in it," He shrugs, "The guys next door are going out tonight and asked me whether you wanted to join us."
"You mean Lucas and Johnny?" She blinks at the sudden change of topic but thanking God too.
He nodded once more, "Yep, Taeyong and the others will be there too."
"Uhh," Her mind began to think, will he permit her to do so? I mean it is just a harmless outing with the gangs and her close friends.
"I'll think about it."
"Alright, give me a call whenever you changed your mind okay?"
"I will,thanks Yuta!"
That night again it was only a phone call she receives from her boyfriend, the only thing that hinders her from going out with her friends was just to wait calls from him.
"How are you today?" Was the same questions all over again ever since they were apart.
"Same old same old, are you still busy?"
"Well,our comeback's just a month ago so yeah,pretty much.”
Why doesn't he sounded sorry at all? a pain ache inside her heart
"The crews and Bang PD-nim wants to get a small dine out together tomorrow night to celebrate the awards yesterday."
"A dine out?" Her ears perks up.
"Yeah,probably just another drinking night."
"Uhm," She bit her lower lip hesitantly, "Is it possible for you to take the day off then?"
"What?"
"You know—we can celebrate it just the two of us..?"
She heard him hums in thinking, "I don't know.."
Her heart sinks, "Is it a must to go though?"
"Of course it does,(y/n)" He chuckles, "It's the boys' and the crews' hard work so it's duly for us to celebrate all together."
"What about me? I supported you guys from behind too,no?" She found herself frowning, her forehead wrinkled in slow anger.
"Yes,absolutely,but i can't-"
"It's been  three months,Taehyung. Three." She sighs heavily.
The other line was quiet for a moment, "I know,baby..just hang on a bit more,m'kay?"
"Until how long Taehyung-ah?" She runs her fingers through her hair locks
"Soon,i promise."
If he doesn't have time for her now, then was it fine for her to go out too with her friends? Supposedly it will be the same too as him isn't it? Not that she is thinking this is a revenge but the fact that her boyfriend is a global superstar  stops her from doing her free activities with her friends just to wait for him for at times he is asking for an impromptu dates. But now that she knows his plans for the next few days ahead, there must be no mistake in going out for a drink at night
"I was thinking to go out tonight with my friends."
"Oh? Who?"
"Erm.."
Okay,she have to think fast!
"Jisoo and the girls from next door, probably some guys too."
"And where to?"
"I don't know, she said probably the Viking bar or Fox's she said."
The other line went quiet again and she anticipated what's to come from him next,
"Taehyung?"
"Do you have to go though?"
Instinctively she almost scoffed,
"I'm not asking for permission,Taehyung. I am contemplating with myself."
"You're a girl—you shouldn't got home so late at night."
"News flash Mister, there's this thing called taxi." She huffs.
"And what about the guys? Are you sure it's safe to drink with them?"
"Of course, they're the one who will probably takes care of us,girls instead."
"Somehow i don't trust them."
"Oh my God,are you even listening to yourself? You just said you will be out drinking too tomorrow night!"
"With the boys!"
"And so am i! I'll do whatever i want!" She admits she sounded like a little child but the fact he forbids her from going out with her friends is just ridiculous. She hangs up the phone even before he could utter another words.
She is fuming and she uses that chance to determine getting full make up on and even the bestest outfit to be out and about on weekend night. The music blaring throughout the whole dim room, flashes of rainbow lights swept across the air, the dance floor are crowded so there is no way in hell she would squeeze herself in when she can just grab drinks by the bars.
Yuta, true to his words did bring the whole crew of his friends probably not knowing she have a boyfriend either tries to be a wingman or he flirted with her himself. The girls hit the dance floor leaving (y/n) alone with alcohol drinks in her hand, chatting with the guys especially Taeyong and another one of his pal named Jaehyun. It is so obvious they tries to get under her sleeves, their rag couldn't be more clearer than a day.
"How can a girl like you still single?"
"How can a girl like you still a virgin?"
Taeyong shot a glare towards Lucas, "Be more rude why don't you?"
She laughs, "Why not? I'm saving myself for the best."
"That's fucking tempting." Hummed Yuta beside her, wrapping an arm over her waist but only for (y/n) to slap his hands away,
"Hands off,Nakamoto."
"Oooh rejected bro!" cooed Mark from the other side,.
"It was hard to believe though, she must be lying. Who's the man?" Jaehyun interjected, and she faked a gasp,
"You don't believe me?"
"Well-you're the senior we all look up to. Hells how many guys were drooling over you in our class. All they talk about how Senior (y/f/n) passes by the hallways and all went nuts."
Well, the confidence that she have the looks does have it in her but she never expresses it outwardly. That is one of the reason why Kim Taehyung caught his eyes on her on the first sight;sure he said pretty face doesn't matter but she is having them just in case.
"That's sweet, but don't get your hopes up. As you said,i might already have a boyfriend." She smirks and some of the guys lets out a dejected howl, at this point she is on the brink of her drunkenness, the vodka comes repeatedly with the whiskey and cocktails as she lost track of time with the guys.
Her head feels too heavy eventually, the drowsiness slowly overcome her body and sight, everything starts to spin in her eyes as she let her body swayed to the side to rest her head on someone's shoulder,
"You okay?" Ask the person, and she nodded with eyes closed,
"Yeah, i'm fine Taeyong.Just tipsy." That's a lie. Most part of her chooses to drown herself in alcohols was too ignore the aching feeling she have encroaches inside her heart; how sad she is when she could be spending time with her boyfriend now but he is too buys entertaining the world.
Is she making the right decision? Will this relationship last? Will he love her forever when he got all the loves from the fans countless more?
"(Y/n)," Called Taeyong, draping an arm over her back to let her fall on his chest comfortably,
"You can't be this adorable when you rejected everyone of us." She heard him sigh.
"Ouw-hey! What the hell man!?"
But his sudden outburst causes (y/n) to frown, pulling herself up to a straight sitting position and forcing both her heavy eyelids up to see what is all the commotion about. Through her half-lidded eyes, she saw a man stand right before her, trailing her sight up to see the very familiar young man ,glaring at the latter beside her. The others already stood on their horses, ready to defend their friend.
"Get your hands off my girlfriend." He growls, releasing the threatening grip on Taeyong's wrist before shoving him away.
"Who the fuck are you?" Yuta and Mark stood up defensively, their fists forms on each of their sides.
He ignores them, dropping to his knee to level the same face as her,
"I'm taking you home." He said and (y/n) frowns with a pout, trying to study the familiarity of his face,
"Excuse me sir, you look very alike with someone i know but...i couldn't quite put my finger on it." She slurred between her hiccups.
He heave out a heavy sigh, "This is why i never let you have a friends drinking night out." He grab her elbow, trying to pull her up from the couch, "Get up, we're going home."
"No!" She childishly retort, "I am waiting for my scotch!"
"You are having none, get up i said."
She threw tantrums then, "Well, fine! I am waiting for Kim Taehyung! So bugger off, mister!" She crosses her arms across her chest with a 'hmph!'.
The male curses underneath his breath, and when that name was heard out loud and clear enough for the others, they starting to recognises him even through the dim light of this clubbing.
"Holy shit," Johnny was the first one to gasp, "He is Kim Taehyung."
"What?"
"Impossible! As in from BTS group!?"
"Dude, look at him! In front of our own naked eyes!"
"Why..is he here though?"
"I'm here to get my girlfriend, mind to help moving her arse?"
"But, (y/n) told us she doesn't have a boyfriend." Yuta pipes in,still reeling from the shock.
"Yeah," He sighs this time, his gaze softens at her face, "I told her to."
Everyone then went silent, only took them a couple of seconds to understand the complicated situations between them.
"(Y/n)," Taehyung call her name again, she looks up sleepily, a grin then broke through her expression,
"Oh my! If it isn't Kim Taehyung! Ooooooh i must be dreaming~" She sang, poking her fingers on his shoulder.
"Alright, night's over." He hoist the drunk female up and threw her over his shoulder,
"I'm flying wheeeeeee~!"
"She is so wasted alright." Jaehyun mutters.
"I trust you guys could keep your words here unless you want your senior's life to be doomed." He darts his eyes around, each sending them a piercing glance as an indirect threats.
"Good." With that he left.
He lie her down on the back of the passengers' seats before then drove back to the apartment they are sharing.
"The elephant's moving so fast.." He heard her mumbling at the back,
"It's flying." Which he respond nonchalantly with a flat tone.
"Like me?"
"Yeah,like you."
She burst into a fit of giggles, "I can fly! Does that mean i can fly to see my boyfriend, mister?"
Taehyung's heart drop as her giggling subsided gradually, once in a while his eyes taking glimpses of her form at the back through the rear mirror,
"I can finally see my Tae then~! Do you think he will be happy to see me?"
He didn't answer,
"But he doesn't look happy whenever i visited him," She pouted before adding more complaints, "My boyfriend is toooooo handsome so it is no surprise the whole world loves him." She giggles again through her hiccups,
"He is always away so i rarely see him,the last time we had sex was 6 months ago!" That almost made Taehyung choked on his own spit.
"I miss him so muuuuch.." She sang nonchalantly, "Hey,mister. Can you drive me to Japan? Ah,wait never miiiind.... he will hate me if i show up unannounced again.."
Why is she making these assumption herself?
"I just—" He then heard her sniffling, a drastic change, "I just wanna see him...is that bad, mister?"
"(Y/n).." he softly calls her.
"Hey..." She toss around at the back, acting strange, "I don't feel so good..."
"What—OH MY GOD, (Y/F/N)!"
Tumblr media
He couldn't help but to mutter curses underneath his breath as he cleans the car's jock, wearing his black mask to avoid the smell wafted into his nostrils which made him almost vomiting too. He can't believe she would be throwing her last lunch out from her stomach right at the wrong timing and place!
After he was done, he made his way up to the apartment and into the room to find the female tossing on the bed with groans escaping from her lips,
"It's too hot.." She complaints, few buttons of her pyjamas where Taehyung had wiped and changed her into came off, probably pulling on them.
He sigh, "Don't take it off, you'll catch a cold."
"Hoooot~" She whines as he catches both her hands to pull her down and lay on the soft mattress beside him.
"Is it just me or the sun is looking at me?"
"Get some sleep, baby." He pull her close, securing an arm over her hips and back, his thumb caresses its length on her skin.
"Hmm.." She hums, when she bury herself onto his chest seeking for his warmth and comfort he finally relaxes. The next thing he knew was the soft snore from the girl.
He stare down at her profile, her eyelash casts shadows over her pale cheeks and he couldn't help but to run his thumb over the soft skin of hers.
"I'm sorry," He apologizes though he is sure she is sound asleep, "I thought by hiding our relationship is the best way to have it between us but..i didn't knew this'd hurt you."

Forgotten Power
Tumblr media
I believe there are a few simple exercises that will always be valuable to us. There are a handful of ideas that (if they really speak to us) will develop our emotional and intellectual understanding better than any others.
Here I turn to the words of Bertrand Russell. From the 1959 program Face to Face, Bertrand Russell was asked to give a message that he believed could benfit future generations. His two-part answer is as filled with wisdom as is possible; I consider it one of the most important pieces of knowledge we ever recorded because it holds instructions for not only the head but also the heart of humanity. Regardless of the generation or the culture, these words will always help us.
From Face to Face, The word of Bertrand Russell:
“I should like to say two things, one intellectual and one moral.
The intellectual thing I should want to say to them is this: When you are studying any matter or considering any philosophy, ask yourself only what are the facts, and what is the truth that the facts bear out. Never let yourself be diverted, either by what you wish to believe, or by what you think would have beneficent social effects if it were believed. But look only and solely at what are the facts. That is the intellectual thing that I should wish to say.
The moral thing I should wish to say to them is very simple. I should say: Love is wise; hatred is foolish. In this world, which is getting more and more closely interconnected, we have to learn to tolerate each other. We have to learn to put up with the fact that some people say things that we don't like. We can only live together in that way. And if we are to live together, and not die together, we must learn a kind of charity and a kind of tolerance, which is absolutely vital to the continuation of human life on this planet.”
No one has ever or will ever reach a point where that knowledge is not useful to them. And because of that, if there is ever supposed to be some kind of grand book that educates us all, I believe this piece should figure prominently.
I'll end this with an idea I had a few years ago that I truly wish I could work to develop. The phrase I use is Word Wall, and I'll give just a quick description of how the idea came to me.
I was watching a debate during the national elections, and on one particular night there was a backdrop that featured text from the Declaration of Independence as its decoration. And, as always, my mind raced with different degrees of cynicism:
I like that as a background, it reminds us of what's important. But actually, do I need a 50-foot tapestry of the Declaration hanging in front of my face to remind me that it is important? I love that document, don’t get me wrong, I have a copy that still hangs on my wall. But if I need large copies of documents hanging in front of my face to remind me of their importance, my entire life would be plastered over with endless documents. But it is a nice thing to do, and it shows that they consider it important. And besides, what else would it be? Just a plain backdrop?
That cynical exchange is usually how it goes when I'm first questioning something. Thankfully, (like we always should) I did not end with the overly-cynical assessment. With the above story came the idea of a simple background that could significantly raise the level of discourse on this planet - a claim I do not make lightly.
The best way to understand it would just be to hear a description of the ideal form:
During a debate it can often be difficult for an audience to follow all the points being argued. Not only are many subjects covered in a short period, but the topics discussed are often complex and issues we have been dealing with for years. On top of that, it is important to never forget the skill of oration.
The person with the best ideas is not guaranteed success; a large part of a public debate is winning over the audience, and often the one with better oratory skills will win - regardless of the merit of their points. This is clear evidence to the power of rhetoric, or the art of winning an argument. The problem has been with us for thousand of years, the idea that a great speaker can overcome logic and reason, yet now in the modern age we are reaching a point where we have a chance to overcome it.
The best way to combat this power of rhetoric over fact is an informed public. unfortunately, many people (myself included) can find it sometimes difficult to be well-versed and up to date on every global isue that is affecting our society. I mention this, because all it takes is one audience member to be unfamiliar with one topic, and then the skill of a speaker begins to matter more than the facts at hand. We must agree that this is a terrible situation that must be avoided whenever possible.
As I mentioned, the best way to deal with the problem is an informed public; however, I believe the easiest way to deal with this may be by developing a Word Wall, as I call it.
Imagine a large stage with two podiums and two people. Behind them is a large screen, but instead of displaying images or stationary words, it is continually keeping a transcript of the debate. It is however doing much more than just keeping a running transcript. The size of the screen (at least 40ft x 100ft) allows it to display the past 1-2 minutes of conversation in readable text on the screen. And within seconds of the transcript being put on the screen, an advanced program will begin fact checking every word they say.
This is the most important part of the machine. It can sound ridiculous to imagine every single word dissected and fact check, but that is where the color coding helps everything.
How many times have you heard a politician confidently make a statement? And how many times have you wondered if they were lying to you? Even the process of fact checking things online has become difficult due to manipulative forces. Imagine a speaker makes a bold claim about the problems facing our country. Those words carry unbelievably heavy meaning, they should be held up to criticism. A statement is made and behind them, 20 feet high above their head is their claim. the audience then waits to see if those words hold true; the statement becomes a pleasant green, we know they are speaking the truth, the phrase becomes red, we know there is an issue.
As I mentioned, this is not the best way to handle the issue - simply the easiest. In a way, we are turning it into a video game, a passive experience we only slightly interact with. I will always wish for an informed public that dissects the claims of the speakers in real time, but I believe that for many this is a good starting place. At the very least, this would make it more difficult for people to make ridiculous claims. If I could imagine a plausible machine that would create an unceasingly inquisitive public, I would be describing that instead. Since that isn't the case, I believe that something like the Word Wall could make it more difficult for liars and anyone else that wants to manipulate people in order to spread their own deceptions.
