"See you soon?" Mary asked, hugging you. Camp was officially over and everyone made their way back to their clubs.

Mary about to go back to Manchester while you would stay in Australia, "yeah, yeah of course" you replied, still holding on to her. It was a known fact for all your team mates that parting you from each other was hard, you would not see one another until the next camp. As well it was a common fact that you were in love with the other yet not acting on your feelings. 'I don‘t want to ruin our friendship' or 'she doesn‘t like me the way I like her'

"Do you ever think they‘ll admit that they‘re in love?" Macca asked Caitlin as they watched you hug.

"End of the next season they‘re a couple, wanna bet?" the gunner asked smirking, aware of conversations between you and City.

"Do you know something I don‘t?"

As the months went by the details of your transfer were clarified, your move to Man City was confirmed but nobody really knew. Manchester City went to sign you under the radar, the only one who knew was your home club, not even Mary, your best friend, knew about your joining.

As you arrived at City a member of the staff showed you around the facility and told you about the club history. You did a photoshoot to announce your signing and some q&a videos so that the fans could get to know you.

The next day, you left your house to go to training. It was the official start for you at a new club, in a new country. You're nervous but very happy. You got to see Mary again, that's what you've been looking forward to the most the time.

You stepped in to the facility, making your way to the changing room, ready for your first session.

"Hi" - "Hello" many girls greeting you with open arms but the one girl you hoped would be there wasn‘t. The girls were nice and you enjoyed to get to know them but someone was missing, your someone.

You were talking to Lauren and Chloe whilst the three of you walked out.

And then there was your someone. She looked stunning as always. It was as if she could feel the familiar feeling of peace coming over her, the feeling of security she felt when she was close to you. She turned around, not knowing why she would feel that, you‘re miles away or so she thought.

What she saw made her heart stop beating. She saw you. In a city shirt. Her mind was blown: is this real? how come she didn‘t know?

Faster than you could say wow she was at your side with her arms around your waist, giving you a famous Mary Fowler hug which was only reserved for you. "What‘re you doing here? Oh my gosh." Her hands cupped your cheeks squeezing them. "I‘m your new team mate" you grinned, feeling more than happy. "And you didn‘t tell me? I don‘t know If I should slap you or kiss you" the striker whined not realizing what she just said. Your cheek burnt red, heart racing as you whispered "i would prefer the last" but Mary didn‘t hear it, already telling you some stories yet still having at least one arm around you.

All day the australian could only smile. she hated it not being around you, that you were in a different time zone than her but now? You‘re here. She was happier than ever.

As training finished the team showered and changed, Mary not leaving her eyes off you. There were so many feelings in her: joy that you were here. Heart racing because you were here. "Let me take you out on a date" Mary said as the both of you left the changing room after saying bye to the girls. "What?"

"A date. You and me. I want to take you out on a real date" she clarified, her fingers lacing with your own. You stopped im your tracks, was she messing with you? You waited so long for this to happen but where was this coming from? "Let me- Let me show you how you deserve to be treated"

"Okay." you answered, not trusting your voice or your heart.

"I‘ll pick you up at 7. Casual clothes" she pressed a quick kiss to your cheeks before running to her car "Ah! Text me your address" she added yelling.

On point at 7, Mary was at your house. Her hands were sweaty, she was nervous. There was no way she would to screw this up. This was maybe the only chance she would get with you. "You look great" the forward said smiling as you exited your home, "thank you, you look awesome" returning the compliment.

The date went on smooth, Mary showered you in compliments and treated you like a queen. She was truly amazing. It was like always when you were together, you laughed, joked around, were affectionate but this was more meaningful on so many levels.

"I had a great time, thank you" you told the girl who you‘d been crushing on since for ever. "Maybe I can take you out again?" she asked nervously, shuffling with her feet as she put a loose strand of hair behind your ear "I‘d like that" your cheeks turned red as well did Mary‘s. She scanned your face, not getting enough of your beauty.

"fuck it"

Her hands grasped your neck, pulling you in for a kiss. She had to bend down to reach your lips due your height difference while your hands rested on her chest. Not wanting the kiss to end, it still came to end as you both smiled so bright against each others lips "i’ve wanted to do that since I saw you the first time in an Australia jersey," she admitted, pecking your lips again, "see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah" you answered, completely dazed.

Your first days in Manchester were not only the start of a new chapter in your football career but also the start of a new chapter with Mary being more than just your best friend.

q!Cellbit just wants to give what he didn't have, because now he's living the life he never could: an analysis of his relationship with the Eggs

disclaimer: I wrote this long before the eggs disappeared so… MAYBE it's out of date, keep that in mind when you read it but this is my analysis of that time

q!Cellbit grew up in the war, that is a fact. His life has never been particularly peaceful since then and, considering that shortly after the war ended he was arrested, he was never able to truly live.

Survive. Your mind is always focused on surviving, on not dying to anything or anyone, on staying alive. His playground was the battlefield, his childhood games were to kill his adversaries. His "quiet time" was amidst the chaos of a field of blood.

Soon after he was arrested, living a few good years there before escaping in a miraculous way after threatening everyone and having a gun with a bullet and a dream. He had miraculous therapy, became a detective and is now living on an island; married; with a son; being friends with the people he threatened; leader of a resistance and constantly being manipulated - and trying to manipulate back - a cruel mysterious organization that has trapped everyone where they are.

Anyway, I've repeated these lines so much that they were simply written automatically without me even thinking straight. I may seem repetitive in the next paragraph, but it's something I want to emphasize: q!Cellbit didn't have a life.

q!Cellbit didn't live his life. He spent all these years before arriving on the island thinking about just surviving, he only had the chance to live a "normal" life NOW. On that island where he was tortured; mistaken; kidnapped; had his friend kidnapped; his son was threatened; his family broken multiple times; his nearly month-long investigation stolen; all this, for this damn place to be where he's probably having the best time of his life.

Understand? Do you understand how absurd this seems? And that's exactly why q!Cellbit does everything to protect the eggs: he wants all of them to have the life he didn't have. That they can play without worrying about having to survive another day; that they just be the children they deserve to be and not the killing machine he was when he was younger.

q!Cellbit wants his son to just do the pranks he does, for Richarlyson to enjoy his childhood and his paintings without him having to worry about who the person he will kill tomorrow will be. q!Cellbit wants his son to live a normal life. In fact, he wants all the eggs to live a normal childhood.

Even with all the dangers that plague the island, even though the eggs were forced to be little warriors like he was, he still always does his best to encourage them to play. He always joins in on their games, always falls for their pranks, always prioritizes talking to them and has always treated them like what they are: children.

And that's exactly what makes it 1000x worse that he was the one who found the report of the little egg abandoned at the adoption center. For me, he saw his reflection there in those dirty pages and desperate words of a child who just wanted to be loved by someone.

An egg that I'm sure q!Cellbit would have loved to give the love he so deserved, a love that overflows with his failures and setbacks.

A love that every child deserves.

Fez uma terapia milagrosa, virou um detetive e agora está vivendo em uma ilha; casado; com um filho; sendo amigo das pessoas que ameaçou; líder de uma resistência e sendo constantemente manipulado - e tentando manipular de volta - uma organização misteriosa cruel que prendeu todos aonde estão.

Enfim, eu já repeti tanto essas linhas que elas simplesmente foram escritas automáticamente sem eu sequer pensar direito. Posso parecer repetitivo no próximo paragrafo, mas é algo que eu quero frisar: q!Cellbit não teve uma vida.

q!Cellbit não viveu a vida dele. Ele passou todos esses anos até chegar na ilha pensando em apenas sobreviver, ele só teve a chance de viver uma vida "normal" AGORA. Nessa ilha onde ele foi torturado; enganado; sequestrado; teve seu amigo sequestrado; seu filho ameaçado; sua família quebrada diversas vezes; sua investigação de quase um mês roubada; tudo isso, para esse lugar maldito ser onde ele provavelmente estar tendo a melhor fase de sua vida.

Entende? Entende o quão absurdo isso parece? E é exatamente por isso que q!Cellbit faz de tudo para proteger os ovos: ele quer que todos eles tenham a vida que ele não teve. Que eles possam brincar sem se preocupar em ter que sobreviver mais um dia; que eles sejam apenas as crianças que eles merecem ser e não a máquina de matar que ele foi quando menor.

q!Cellbit quer que seu filho apenas faça as pegadinhas que ele faz, que Richarlyson aproveite sua infância e suas pinturas sem que ele tenha que se preocupar quem será a pessoa que ele matará amanhã. q!Cellbit quer que seu filho viva uma vida normal. Na verdade, ele quer que todos os ovos vivam uma infância normal.

Mesmo com todos os perigos que assolam a ilha, mesmo que os ovos tenham sido forçados a serem pequenos guerreiros como ele fora, ainda assim ele sempre faz o possível para incentivar que eles brinquem. Sempre entra nas brincadeiras deles, sempre cai nas pegadinhas, sempre dá prioridade para falar com eles e sempre os tratou como o que eles são: crianças.

E é exatamente nisso que é 1000x pior que tenha sido ele a achar o relato do pequeno ovo abandonado no centro de adoção. Para mim, ele viu seu reflexo ali naquelas páginas sujas e palavras desesperadas de uma criança que só queria ser amada por alguém.

Um ovo que eu tenho certeza de que q!Cellbit teria amado dar o amor que tanto merecia, um amor que transborda de suas falhas e recaídas.

Um amor que toda criança merece.

(B) Boo! – How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?

Sanji loves buying gifts for his partner and planning surprises for them, so they receive them often. From the smallest of things to the most extravagant of things, if something makes him think of his beloved then it's theirs no matter the price. Of course it's not just about buying them things, their reaction to his gifts make him fall in love with them all over again. It's also his way of showing he was thinking of them. The same with surprises, whether it be their favorite food, prepping them a warm drink on a chilly morning, flowers on their bedside table, Sanji does it all. It's little reminders throughout their day how much he cares for them.

But Sanji receiving gifts and surprises is a whole other story. He's very rarely, if ever, been on the receiving end of them so it's no surprise he's a bit stumped and emotional. His partner gives him a coat when it's cold out? One of those key-chains with his initial on it? Hell, a cool looking shell they found on the beach? Not only has he fallen unbelievably more in love with them, but he's also... touched in a way no one else has made him feel. His Y/N gave him a gift, his Y/N was thinking about him. Now usually he's go off swooning as usual, but this was... different.

Arriving back to the Going Merry, Sanji was relieved to see no sign of his crew members. Finally, he could start dinner preparations in peace and quiet. Right as he sat down the food he bought earlier, a pang of annoyance hits him as the kitchen door opens with a squeak. He turns around and before he could tell whoever it was to go away, the annoyance quickly melts away and is replaced with adoration as his eyes land on his beloved. "Oh, Sanji! I didn't think anyone else was back yet." They say, allowing Sanji to take the bags from their hands once he snapped out of his daze. "Here, let me get those for you my love." His partner smiles lightly at his chivalry, watching as he takes the bags and set them down with the utmost care on the dining room table. "Oh wait, I almost forgot! I have something for you." Sanji does a bit of a double take as he watches his partner dig through the bags. Something for him..? Did he hear them right? He's pulled from his thought by his lover standing in front of him with a smile, holding a small, wrapped package in their hands. He stares at the packing, blinking in confusion for a moment before taking it with a gulp. Sanji pulls away the tape and paper with gentle hands and the utmost care, not wanting to rip a single corner of the wrapping paper his beloved had taken the precious time to wrap. His hands were unusually sweaty, heart thumping in his chest. Sanji's thoughts whirled so quickly in his brain he was barely able to process anything besides the box in his hands and his lover in front of him. His partner stood patiently, allowing Sanji to take his time to open the gift which was a simple act of affection from their part, but meant the absolute world and more to Sanji. After what felt like a millennium, the box was finally opened and inside lay a golden chain with a small, golden pendant of his lovers initial. "I know it's impractical for fighting, you don't have to wear it. With all of the gifts you give me I thought it would be nice t-" Their rambling is cut short by Sanji suddenly enveloping them in a tight hug, his chest felt tight with emotion. "I'll wear it till the day I die, mon coeur."

(Q) Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

Quiet moments with Sanji. Gosh, to say they're perfect would be an understatement. The crew is... loud. Everyone knows it. So the only time Sanji and his partner have quiet time is at night, or when docked on an island where the two of them can either stay behind on the ship or explore the island together. Whichever you choose, Sanji would be by his lovers side the entire time with his full undivided attention. If they're exploring an island together, they're the only person in the world that he's focused on and if anyone dares break that focus they're met with the nastiest glare known to man. (think the ones he gives Zoro.) But some of his favorite quiet moments (that he'd never admit) are nights where he has watch duty and his partner insists on joining him, despite arguing that it's too cold out or they need their beauty sleep. They'd give him the excuse that they couldn't sleep or thought he needed a blanket, which is just another excuse to cuddle close to him in said blanket. (like they would ever need an excuse for that) His partner would sit between his legs, curled up against his chest with the blanket keeping the both of them nice and cozy and Sanji would listen to whatever sleepy nonsense comes from their lips before drifting off to sleep. Sanji's heart swells as he's the happiest guy in the whole world, looking up at the stars and holding his lover securely... God help any marine or pirate ship that interrupts this moment.

(M) Melt – What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?

Unlike Sanji, Zoro isn't one to have those melty-swoony moments, at least not to that capacity. There's certainly times where he finds himself in his head about them, watching them do whatever it is they're doing or thinking about little things they do while he trains. They're almost always on his mind. Speaking of training, one thing his partner does that makes him somewhat melt is when he catches them training. Knowing that his partner can take care of themselves when need-be adds an extra layer of comfort and security in Zoro's mind, which is why their relationship flows so smoothly. He cant help the little smirk that tugs at his lips when his eyes find them in the midst of fighting whatever problem they found themselves in, or whenever he catches them training. Don't be surprised if he asks to join them, knowing full well that training together leads to sparring, and sparring leads to... well, let's leave that up to the imagination.

(Q) Quiet – How are the calm, quiet moments with them?

Quiet moments are actually quite common with Zoro, as spoken words isn't the swordsmans strong suit when it comes to love languages. The first time his partner accidentally walked in on him while he was meditating, rather early on in the relationship, they felt awkward about interrupting him. While trying to quietly trying to exit the room, without opening an eye he'll tell them "Don't just stand there, get over here and sit down already." He especially loves when his partner joins him in his naps. Whether it be to nap with him or read a book while he sleeps their company is always welcome. He'll wrap an arm around them and pull them close, then go right back to snoring away with them securely in his arms. He may me a man of few words, but they'll damn know they're always welcomed and wanted.

Being a singer has always been my dream since I was little so I worked tirelessly taking singing lessons for many years and now I've made it. I was lucky enough to have one of my songs blow up on tiktok and since then I have only grown in popularity. As much as this is something I wanted growing so much fame in such a short amount of time and only at the age of 18 is a lot to handle, I have had to grow up really quickly as everyone always expects so much of me and I don't want to disappoint. It all means I don't really have much of a normal life I am always away from home and I don't have any friends anywhere near my age as I just don't have time for them and don't even get me started on relationships my love life is literally nonexistent. 

As much as there is a lot of pressures in my life there are times that I really enjoy myself and the last few weeks has been one of those times. I have spent the last few weeks in Barcelona exploring, writing and recording songs for my next album. My management suggested that I go somewhere more peaceful than busy London to write so I chose to go to Barcelona as I've always wanted to go and I thought that being somewhere new and exciting would help inspire me. Being here really has helped I've never written such good songs so quickly it's like just being in the city has got my creative juices flowing like never before. I wrote so many songs I had to have multiple meetings to decide which ones to actually put on the album, which ones to save and other ones we could offer to other artists as there is no way I could use them all. 

Sadly now my quiet time has come to an end as I am doing a whole load of interviews to promote my new album and the new single from it which is due to come out first. As I didn't have any say the schedule is pretty hectic so my alarm woke me up at 6am this morning to be ready for my first interview on morning tv at 7. From there I had a few radio interviews before finally getting a bit of a break to eat lunch which I desperately needed. On my break I went on tiktok like I often do but my for you page was just filled with edits of Barcelona players. It is partly my fault as I keep liking them but still they started popping up as soon as I got here without me even doing anything. I must admit some of the players are definitely hot but watching the edits has got me into watching the games on tv at the weekend and I'm really enjoying them. 

My break didn't last long as I had to head to film a few videos with a company the first of which was just a little Q&A which I've done plenty of so I pretty much know what will be asked. When I arrived I was asked if there was anything they weren't allowed to ask so I said no as I don't mind sharing most things. They fit me with a microphone and then we got started pretty much straight away. To begin with it was all just simple things like how I got started in music and things about my life but then we moved on to more juicy questions.

"So everyone wants to know are you single?" The interviewer asked 

"Yes I am despite all the rumours I'm still single now is just not the time for a relationship as I'm so busy" I said

"Then what do you think about what Barcelona player Gavi has said about you?" She asked

"I haven't seen what he's said actually" I replied

"In an interview yesterday he was asked who his celebrity crush was and he said you" she explained 

"I don't think anyone has ever listed me as their celebrity crush so that's pretty cool and being honest Gavi's pretty attractive so it feels good that he likes me" I admitted 

"So can we expect to see the two of you together at any point?" She asked 

"Well I've never spoken to him but I'd love to go to a game before I leave so maybe one day we will meet each other" I said 

I was asked a few more questions but the whole time I was thinking about the fact that Gavi actually knows who I am and called me his celebrity crush. Out of everyone he could pick he chose to say me which makes no sense to me but I can't lie I quite like it. 

Gavi's POV

Just as I got out of the shower after training I had about 5 phones shoved in my face and all the boys were talking at once so I couldn't understand a thing they were saying. Eventually they stopped freaking out and Pedri handed me his phone so I could see what had them so excited. In front me me was a video of y/n being asked about me after I stupidly said she was my celebrity crush in an interview but to my surprise she said that she thought I was attractive too. That's when I started freaking out just like the boys I mean it's not every day that the most attractive girl you've ever seen says she likes you too especially not a famous one. All the boys were trying to encourage me to dm her and I wanted to but what do I say and what if she never sees it I mean she must gets thousands of dms a day. 

"Come on bro just do it what could go wrong" Pedri said 

"What if she never sees it and even worse what if she sees it and ignores it that would be so embarrassing" I said 

"You have to dm her this is your chance she's here in Barcelona and she just said you're attractive in an interview this is your chance to get the girl" Ansu encouraged 

"Ok fine I'll do it but what do I say?" I asked

Your POV

When I first saw the dm from Gavi I freaked out for ages before being able to think of a reply that didn't sound wrong but eventually I managed it. That weekend he got me tickets to their game and then afterwards we met so we could actually speak to each other for the first time. He was so incredibly sweet and even more attractive in person which I didn't think was even possible. After talking for a while he showed me around the stadium quickly before inviting me out to celebrate their win with the team. 

Since that day we have spent quite a bit of time together, when I can I go and watch his training sessions and then at the end of the day I go to his place and we spend the evenings watching movies together. I have had the best time but sadly it must come to an end as I leave to head back to the UK in a few days to continue doing more media. The worst part about it is that Pablo has an away game this weekend so when I leave he won't even be here to say goodbye which means today is the last time we will see each other until one of us has some free time. Even the thought of leaving him is making me really sad as I've really enjoyed every second I've spent with Pablo but that's not it I've really developed feelings for him over the last few weeks and to leave that behind and just forget about it will be hard. Part of me wants to confess my feelings tonight but the rest of me knows it's a bad idea because us being in a relationship could never work as we would never get to spend any time together. 

As it's my last days here I made sure I had nothing to do so I could actually enjoy my time plus Pablo has a free day too so we can spend the whole day together. Even though I wanted to sleep in I got up as Pablo said he wanted to go for breakfast together so I dragged myself out of bed and into the shower. By the time I was ready I already had a text from Pablo telling me he was on his way to the apartment I've been staying in. Having got to know Pablo I knew he would be forgotten to text me and would've text while stopped somewhere so he was probably almost here so I grabbed my bag and shoes and waited by the door. Just as I finished tying my shoes the doorbell rang and the second I opened it Pablo engulfed me in a hug. As he pulled away he quickly kissed my cheek which I learnt is just something he does as the first time it took me by surprise but it still makes me blush every time.

After breakfast Pablo took me to back to my apartment so I could get changed as he wanted to take me to the beach. Once we arrived we walked along the waters edge together until we found a spot to sit that was quiet and where we would hopefully not be disturbed at all. Just as I finished putting on sunscreen and went to lay down in the sun Pablo picked me up over his shoulder with ease and ran towards the water. Before I knew it Pablo had thrown me into the cold water but luckily my reflexes are quick enough to allow me to grab onto him so that he came down with me. As we came up from the water we were slightly further in than I anticipated so my feet didn't reach the floor which meant I went back under the water for a second but before I could begin to keep myself afloat Pablo put his hands on my waist to hold me up. 

Blood rushed to my cheeks in an instant and butterflies formed in my stomach as I felt Pablo's hands on my skin. Time seemed as if it was standing still as our eyes were locked together and a pink tint was evident on our cheeks. I have never felt so strongly for someone like I did in that moment it just felt right having Pablo's hands on me and I couldn't picture being in that moment with anyone else on earth. 

"Y/n" Pablo whispered bringing me back to reality 

"What is it?" I asked

"I know you are leaving soon and I can't let you go without telling you that I've really fallen for you in the last few weeks" he admitted 

"I've fallen for you too but it's never going to work out" I said 

"Why not?" He asked desperately 

"Because we are never going to see each other my management are already talking about a tour and you are always away playing and I don't want a relationship where we only see each other when we happen to both have a spare moment" I explained 

"Then it won't be like that I know any chance I get I would come and see you wherever and any breaks you get I know you would come and be with me plus we can talk on FaceTime everyday in the meantime" he said 

"Please I've never felt like this before and I can't just let you go you can't tell me you don't want to at least try and give it a go" Pablo practically begged 

"You're right I need to not be so scared and give this a go, so does this mean we're dating now" I said 

"Absolutely it does I don't want another second to go by where you're not mine" he said 

As soon as he finished talking Pablo pulled me in and pressed his lips against mine in the most magical kiss I think I've ever experienced. In that moment I knew I made the right decision as when something feels so right I don't see how it could go wrong. I trust the universe to make sure things work out for us and to help us get through the hard times that are bound to arrive. Who knows maybe soon I'll be able to write a love song that actually means something to me about the unexpected romance I have found myself in.

Ever since he decided to be brave, Alcryst had only seen wonderful improvements in his life. He Dever before, and he was able to forge stronger, more open and honest relationships with so many of his friends.

Best of all, though, it saw the arrival of peace in the four kingdoms. With that peace meant a beautiful, elegant and boisterous wedding that was full of joy and color. 

The event rang in the union of the second prince and his beloved, the Divine Dragon Alear. It was truly a moment for the ages, a week-long celebration that was one for the history books.

The six days leading up to the wedding were wonderful, each day more memorable than the last. 

But none were perhaps as important to Alcryst than the wedding day. Exchanging vows with you, and promising yourselves to one another. And your first night together was just…a beautiful blur.

Alcryst was the first one to wake up, staring up at the canopy that drifted lazily in the morning breeze, like he was in a living dream. He breathed softly and deeply, taking in the scent, the sounds, and the sensations. He had never been so happy in his life.

There was a deep sigh next to him, suddenly reminding him of the tender warmth radiating beside him. Alcryst looked over to where his wife slept peacefully beside him.

His heart skipped about three beats; his wife was sleeping next to him.

The youngest prince of brodia had married the Divine Dragon. It was too good to be true, and yet here you were, snuggled up beside him and sleeping without a care in the world.

A lopsided smile lifted the corners of his mouth. He reached out, cautiously, running his fingers along your cheek. You were so soft, and so veyr warm. 

There was surely nothing better than what he was feeling. His fingers slipped away, tucking a strand of vibrant blue hair behind your ear. 

He would have gone for another strand, had his hand not been caught by yours. 

Alcryst gasped, startled by the undetected motion. You inhaled deeply before your eyes slowly opened, revealing eyes that sparkled like sapphires and rubies. 

“Good morning, my love.”

Your morning voice sent shivers down his spine. He was sure his face flushed the second you spoke. 

“G-good…good morning, Alear.” He managed to eek out a reply, earning a sleepy smile. You leaned in closer to him, so that you might lean up and kiss him softly on the lips.

As if he wasn’t already flushed and rosy.

“How are you feeling?” You asked in a gentle and tender voice, which he knew he could easily get drunk on. 

“I feel…I feel great. Last night…yesterday, I mean, all of it…it was wonderful.” He said, sounding just as breathless as he did when he spoke his vows.

You were beaming at him, the joy illuminating your entire face.

“Did you…did you have a good time, too?”

“Of course I did.” You giggled, “You were wonderful. And such an attentive communicator, too.” 

“C-come on!”

“I’m just teasing.” Your fingers brushed along his ear, quite proud of your ability to change colors. “I’m just so happy that I get to wake up beside you every morning…that I finally get to have you in my life when things aren’t hinging on the end of the world.”

“It’ll certainly be a nice change of pace…” He hummed, letting you pull him to your chest. Alcryst was happily the little spoon, burying his face in your warmth and wrapping his arms around you. You squeezed him close, reveling in the tender joy that filled the Divine Dragon’s quarters.

“How long do you think we’ll have until someone sends for us?” You broke the silence once again, “I doubt they’d let us stay up here alone for very long.”

“It’s the day after our wedding, Alear. I don’t think there’s anyone brave enough to try.” He whispered back, relaxing against the sound of your heartbeat.

He did have a good point, you figured, relenting your worries and snuggling in with your dear new husband. Alcryst was limber and toned, and his frame was deceiving. He certainly wasn’t as broad as his brother or father, but he had a lovely body…and certainly one that you were happy to keep your arms around.

To be fair, though, everything about him was lovely.

The fawning would have continued longer, but about half an hour later you were greeted to Diamant boisterously knocking on the door and asking when you two “lazy bones” were going to get out of bed and train with him.

Mercifully, someone dragged him away from the doors before you had slunk out of bed and thrown on some clothes.

You took the opportunity to snuggle back in with your husband…who now needed additional comfort to recover from the embarrassment of Diamant almost barging in on you both naked.

It was the start of an interesting life.

Quackity is “buying milk” again, leaving Luzu watching his kid for the first time.

It’s a weird feeling, sitting on the couch watching cartoons with a slightly malnourished child wearing too-big clothes, especially when Luzu knows that Tilin doesn’t know he’s their dad. Especially when he knows that Tilin knows that the only reason they’re at Luzu’s house in the first place is because Quackity’s friend Wilbur has arrived back from his tour and has acquired a delightful little daughter, and Quackity has never been one to not play favorites. (And Wilbur, apparently, is the favorite.)

“Can we change the channel?” Tilin asks.

“Of course,” Luzu replies, reaching for the remote. “What do you want to watch?”

Tilin shrugs. “We don’t have a tv at home, so I don’t know what to watch.”

Luzu’s heart twists. He turns on Nickelodeon. It’s SpongeBob. Cool.

Tilin’s eyes light up, and they turn their attention back to the screen.

They have Quackity’s nose, Luzu thinks, but they have his eyes. It makes him wonder how the whole dragon thing works, how the mother dragon managed to combine her DNA and Quackity’s and Luzu’s into one tiny little sad child. It makes his brain hurt.

“Turn the tv up,” Tilin demands, and Luzu does so, smiling to himself as he does. One day, either he or Quackity will tell them the truth. For now, he’s just happy to be here with them.

"What made you want to become an author?"

The question stopped you in your tracks and you can tell Jimin notices it. No one had ever asked you that before outside of interviews or fan Q&A's. Not even your beloved brother. It was a painful subject, to which the truth you've never revealed. Now however, after everything that has happened. It makes you angry, like you want to set the world ablaze with the truth one person at a time.

To the rest of the world, you are a normal daughter of a high class family who chose to pursue her dreams in writing instead of following in her parents footsteps. Who were you to take that illusion away from people when you so desperately wished it was the truth? 

So, you told a generic story of that exact narrative illusion with a smile on your face, the camera's flashing away as the memories were breaking you inside. 

You had your last public appearance three months ago when Do-Yun's trial start date finally arrived. You masked the fear, the panic, the desperation and the despair of knowing he may walk free within the next few months. Standing up on a podium in front of hundreds of fans and reporters you told another generic, illusory lie about taking a break from media to focus on your next book, and you were met with love and support, hate and curses, invasive questions, and thousands of bright flashes that haunted your nightmares for weeks. 

"...Y/N?"

Snapping your head up to Jimin's concerned gaze, you take a deep breath in, realizing you had stopped breathing in your dazed state.  

"Sorry, what did you say?" 

He purses his lips as he takes in your body language, "I asked if you were okay?"

"Ah, yea I'm okay." You avert your gaze from his and turn your attention back to your plants. "I need to run a few errands today; can you go ask who is available to go with me?" You deadpan.

He seems surprised you even want to leave the house at all, but slowly nods his head and begins to turn back to the house. "I'll go with you, but I'll ask who else can go. Your brother set a condition in our contract of at least two guards when leaving the property." 

You almost want to roll your eyes at that, doing nothing but giving a noncommittal hum in return. Finishing up in the greenhouse and heading upstairs to your bedroom to get ready for the day shortly after Jimin's departure. 

"No."

"Oh come on, he's the only other person available." Jimin whines at you, Yoongi standing awkwardly next to him at the bottom of the stairs. Looking at the two of them from halfway down the steps, an eyebrow cocked disapprovingly. 

"I don't care, find someone to switch."

Damn you were stubborn. 

"Look I know we didn't have a pretty start to this, but we all specialize in certain abilities and everyone else has tasks they need to complete related to these abilities. We can't switch." Yoongi deadpans, a nonchalant look on his face.  

God that was the biggest piece of bullshit Jimin's ever heard come out of his hyungs' mouth, but he hopes like hell it will work. When he came inside to inform his brothers that you were going out today, they all began to plan on how to fix the train wreck of a relationship you had with them. Beginning with the two instigators, Yoongi and Jungkook, with the elder volunteering to go first. They had to work with you for at least one year per their contract, and if they were going to do that, they needed to get along with you.

"Fine, but I'm driving today. No protests from the peanut gallery if you don't want to deal with my shit the whole day. Got it?" Your heels clicked as you descended the stairs and past the two of them, sliding Saint Laurent aviators over your eyes. You meant it when you thought about setting fire with the truth, and you dressed for the occasion, feeling more powerful than you have in a long time.

The two could see the shift in your mood, they had never seen you this confident. When you had lunch with Madame Versace, they could tell you were comfortable in your skin, you knew you were pretty without anyone saying it. But this was different, this was the kind of confidence they see in someone who's powerful and know how to use that power.

Following you out to the multi-car garage you press a code into a keypad to a hanger they hadn't been into before. Each of the doors to your garage opened to single hangers unlike most multi-car garages that were open all the way through on the inside. So as a result, they had only used and been into one hanger for the SUV, while all visitors parked out in the driveway.

The door whirrs as it slides up and reveals an iridescent blue Audi R8, shocking the two men as you remote start the car and it roars to life. When you look back to tell them to get in and notice their expressions, you simply shrug. "I bought it with the settlement money from my dad's trial, it felt good to blow his money on things he would rather die than let me have. I printed out and sent him pictures of everything I bought with his money, you should have heard the voicemails he left from the prison phones when he received them."

Smirking to yourself you glide into the driver's seat and put the key into the ignition, fully starting the car. Jimin slides in next to you in the passenger's seat while Yoongi plops into the back, fastening their seatbelts as you begin to drive out of the garage and the engine purrs louder.

The three of you make the thirty-minute drive back into the heart of Seoul, even rolling down the windows and flooring it on the highway with Jimin hyping you up. Meanwhile, Yoongi was white knuckling the handles on the roof, eyes closed and screeching in your backseat that you all were going to die.

After practically torturing your older bodyguard most of the way, you smoothly steer the car into the parking garage of your publishing label. Putting the car in park inside a space, Jimin comes around the car to open your door and Yoongi tries and fails at getting out of the car in a dignified way. The two of you laugh as the older man trips and almost rolls onto the concrete, stumbling his way back to a standing position.

"You are never allowed to go over the speed limit again with me in the car." He states almost pleadingly while looking you in the eyes, sending you and Jimin into another fit of giggles.

After getting yourselves together you began to make your way into the building with the two men flanking your sides. You swipe a key card to call the elevator and step through the doors, pressing the correct floor and letting the doors slide closed. You notice the way Yoongi and Jimin have slipped into their professional personas, steeling their emotions and squaring their shoulders to portray imposing figures to the eyes of others.

When the elevator dings and the doors open you step confidently into the bustling office space. A few workers notice your presence and stop to give you a bow, greeting you as 'Pandora Jakga-nim.'

"Why are they calling you that?" Yoongi questions out of earshot of others.

"You should really be more knowledgeable of your client Mr. Min." You fire back, "It's my pen name."

"Your brother didn't tell us that you had a pen name."

Choosing to ignore him you continued to make your way through the building until reaching Hwasa's office, knocking on the open door.

She greets you happily and the both of you fall into a comfortable routine after you sit on the visitors' side of the desk. The boys close the door behind them and stand on either side of it, watching over the two of you.

"I brought the final draft to the last book." You say, pulling a USB out of your bag and sliding it over to her.

"Already!? We haven't even released the second book yet and you managed to finish the last installment in less than six months!?" Her eyes are blown wide in shock as she picks up the drive.

"I've had lots of time to write since I stepped back from the public. Which is why I'm leaving this in your capable hands, I'd like to release a statement that I'm going to work on another book."

She looks at you incredulously upon hearing your intentions, "What do you mean work on another book? You haven't told me of any plans for after the 'Youth' series."

"I actually decided to go for it recently." Giving a small smile to the woman in front of you, "This book is something that I've actually been writing since I was young, and I feel like now is the time to show it to the world."

You watch as she looks you over silently for a bit, almost worried she would tell you no and to write a development plan first. However, she simply shrugs, "Fuck it, we'll deal with the fallout later. Write that shit, you know I've got your back." A full grin is on her face by the end of her reply, and you mirror her with excitement.

Turning back to the boys with a grin, you see a smirk on Jimin's face.

"Where to next, Miss Bang?"

When Jimin asked you 'Where to?' he was not expecting you to drive the three of them to a mansion in the inner suburbs of Seoul. Punching in a passcode to the drive gate, the wood panel slides back into the concrete walls standing tall around the house like a prison.

"What is this place?" He questions you, taking a good look at the abandoned home in front of him as you park the car.

"The Bang family manor." His head whips over to you as you stare blankly in front of you, hands gripping the steering wheel tight.

Turning to face him you take a deep breath and speak, "You asked me this morning what made me want to become an author. In my entire career my answer has always been the same, and it's also a lie. I've never told a soul the truth to that question, so tell me, do you truly want to know?"

Dark eyes pierce you as he ponders your response, and finally he gives a resolute nod. Turning to look back at Yoongi, you nod your head to the house with a simple, "Let's go, I'll need the both of you for this."

Stepping into the grand foyer, the crystal chandelier above your heads is draped in a dust sheet, much like the rest of the furniture in the home.

"I want you two to walk in and tell me what you see."

They look at you confused, but you simply nod them on to the task. Everything within the living room screams luxury, hand crafted ornate rugs, antique vases and crystal decanters, a large painted family portrait featuring younger versions of the Bang siblings. Nothing seemed out of place apart from the dust and draped sheets.

Yoongi speaks first, "I don't understand, what is it that you want us to see?"

A sad smile appears on your face, "It's not what you see, but what you don't see that I want you to notice. Tell me, do you see family holiday photos anywhere? Do you see photo albums on the shelves? Graduation Photos? Family movies or games in the entertainment center?"

The two bodyguards overlook the room a second time and find each thing you list missing, as if a family never existed in this space, and no one would know they did if not for the portrait. You tell them to follow you after a moment and lead them up the stairs to a closed room. You hand Yoongi the key, and he notes that you stand outside the doorway when they enter the office.

"This was my father's office; I want you to tell me what you see again."

The unease Yoongi senses from you makes sense now that he knows what the room is, and he studies the space carefully with the guide of the objects listed from the previous room.

"Why is this the only room without a rug?" Jimin questions, completely unrelated to the parameters Yoongi had thought they were under.

"Oooh, look at you go. Five points to Mr. Park for catching the subtle difference. But we'll come back to the answer to that in a second, there's a second half to it."

Putting your attention back on Yoongi, you give the next instructions. "Yoongi, inside that large red book on the shelf is a key to the safe under the desk. Take it and open it up."

The man moves as you said and finds the book is actually a secret storage box, taking the key and finding the metal safe embedded in the desk to look like a drawer, he opens it up.

The gasps the two let out are horrified, and they can only imagine the horror you must feel even being near this room again. Inside the safe sits bottles of cleaner with bloody fingerprints all over them and a red stained rag, accompanied by a half empty bottle of distilled water. The final piece of the ensemble a rolled up blood-stained belt, whittled down into a makeshift whip.

"I knew he was an asshole but this... How did no one know all these years?" There's pain in Jimin's eyes as he looks at you, and you don't want to tell him it's because you had to hide to survive.

You ignore the pain in your chest and his comment, "Coming back to your observation Jimin, tell me, why do you think this is the only room without a rug?"

It's silent for a second as their minds buffer the horrific possibility that they don't want to say, only to have it confirmed. Yoongi clears his throat, and braves to step in the darkness of your reality.

"You can't clean the blood out of the rugs."

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. How incredibly fucked up is that.

"Wow, look at what a smart cookie you are. He took out the rug around the time I entered high school, the stains were still there even after he made me scrub it for a whole day. I had to roll it up and carry it to the backyard to burn with my back split open from the buckle of his belt."

Yet again they have nothing to say at the despicable shadows that eclipse your past. They feel heartbreak, anger, sadness, and a want for vengeance.

"Come on, there's one last thing." Turning on your heels you stride down the hallway to your old bedroom, opening the door and plopping down on the bed.

The boys enter and immediately start looking for clues and it makes you want to giggle at their furrowed brows.

"This is my old room; you don't have to scan for clues here."

Getting up from the bed you walk over to the large bookcase against the wall. Patting it, you look over at the boys and instruct them to slide it over.

"Do either of you have a knife or something like it?"

Confused, Yoongi raises his hand slightly. "I have a pocketknife?"

"That will work perfect, these boards here are loose. Use it to pull them off." Pointing out several wooden floorboards where the bookcase sat, Yoongi wedges the tip of his knife in the worn spots he can see from where you pulled them up previously.

Inside the space between the floors and the foundation are drawstring bags that Jimin reaches in to grab and set them down in the room. Opening one he finds it full to the brim of dated white envelopes, some thicker than others and some of those rubber banded to other thick ones. The two sort through the bag and open the others in curiosity after finding nothing but the letters, every bag just like the first. Finally, they look to you for answers as you pick up a few and read the dates for yourself.

"Inside each of these envelopes are pictures of the abuse I experienced at the hands of my father, and a letter recounting what happened or what I could remember of it. Each one represents a separate event and they date all the way back to when I was twelve."

Yoongi drops the envelope in his hand like it burned him, it was a banded one with the same date on both of the hefty envelops. He can only imagine the damage that was caused to require that many photos to document everything.

"Jimin, you wanted to know my reason for becoming an author? This is it. I wanted to ruin everything he built, and I needed evidence to do it, so I started writing these and taking pictures so I could show the world who he really was."

The man nods his head, eyes trailing over hundreds of pieces of the puzzle that makes up you. Clicking each one into place within his mind to begin to see the picture of the truth.

"Do you really want a fresh start with me Yoongi?" Eyebrows raised as you question his determination.

"I do. I regret it and I wish I could take it back, but I have to settle for making it right and I want that."

Sighing, you let out a determined nod and pick up a bag, slinging it over your shoulder.

"If you really want to make it right with me, then help me take down that bastard from the inside out. Starting with these."

There's a smirk on his face when you say this, and he finds himself almost excited to deal some pain to the people who have hurt you. He picks up the envelopes he dropped earlier and place them back in the bags. Picking up one for himself and handing the other to Jimin, they share a look of wicked excitement, turning back to you simultaneously with their minds steeled.

"Yes, Ma'am. I'll gladly make this right."

"good morining" kristen and Phil can be heard saying to the little workers so far in the casino. everyone exchanges there hellos and small talk before the two hotshots walk up to start there own day. "Tommy!" wilbur can be heard screaming from the card station. Tommy's is near the bar table laying his head slowly falling asleep. Tommy groans before lifitng his head back up and starts to fix his tie. Tommy always complains his tie is choking him. "here" tommy jumped at the sight of techno standing there hadning him a water bottle, "since you can have any of these drinks you know" tommy grabbed to drink and took a sip, "thanks-". "Quackity!" willbur said as he ran over to quackity who walked into the buillding with charlie. Will pulled big Q into a big hug only making quckity push him away. "you smell like cigars-" will just laughs and takes quackitys beanie, runing away making big Q yell at him and chase him. Charlie just stood there and exchanged a wave to tommy with a big smile.

afternoon

"look who finally arrived" Dream laughed as he shook the mixer in his hand beforing pouring it into a glass. George just looked at Dream befor flipping him off and starting his shift. "Im telling you tubbo he hates me" tommy ranted in the break room to tubbo about how dream hates him. Tubbo sat there listening as he did his work on his computer. Ranboo smiled and walked into the break room waving. "RANBOO" tommy yelled as ranboo laughed and sat next to tommy. thats when tommy started to rant about dream to ranboo as ranboo actually gave some pretty good advice. A bit later Karl walked in for search of someone, "ranboo we need you, rush hour" ranboo got up and said his goodbyes before leaving with karl. Tommy left soon after to work as well leaving tubbo in his peaceful mind space.

Purpled laughed at to sore loser walking away from the pool table throwing the stick thankfully purple moved out the way. "your so stupid mate" purple heard as Jack walked up to him and ruffled his hair making purple squirm. "fuck off british" Jack just laughed and started to put the pool balls in the triangle, "one round?" purple nodded as he handed jack a stick and soon they began to play.

Purpled scoffed as he lost and just laughed, "whos the sore loser now" purple rolled his eyes as jack turend his head seeing niki from afar. "HEY LEAVE HER ALONE" jack said running over with the pool stick ready to kick some guys ass for messing with niki. Niki laughed softly as Jack got the guy away and hugged niki, "you ok?" she nodded gently as Jack stood next to her making smile talk making sure not to leave her side.

Closing time

"everyone out" sapnap said as he pushed the decent drunk people out. Punz on the other hand was arguing with a guest, "GET THE FUCK OUT" punz screamed getting all close onto the person with obvious anger. Before punz exploded sapnap quickly handled it. Fundy sighed in an amused manner hearing another fight break out between punz and a guest. "alright everyone im leaving!" Wilbur said as Tom put his jacket on after giving tubbo a hug. "bye shortie" dream teased to tom who just flipped him off as both the brothers walked out the building. One by one everyone left the building saying there goodbyes or getting a ride from others.

“Firestorm”

This is ... somewhat well-researched. Less than for an academic paper, but I am trying to be historically accurate. 

Author’s note one: This is really f*cking heavy. Even by my standards. Also, I am intentionally not using Rudolf’s name. It is supposed to be a bit confusing as to who is Rudolf and who is Tod. It is also supposed to be a bit confusing between the angels and the bombers.

Q: I wonder, sometimes. What was the deadliest day of the Second World War?

A: You could make esoteric arguments for any number of days. You could argue planning or intent or latent deaths or some such. But ultimately the simplest answer - the 24-hour period in which the most human beings lost their lives - is on March 10, 1945. And it isn’t really close.

He had been watching Italians execute other Italians when Tod arrives. The angel doing the kissing had just departed, leaving him alone with two dozen bodies.

“My prince.” Tod greets him with a kiss.

“My friend.” He returns the kiss. 

Tod holds out his hand and he takes it. Tod pulls them through space. 

The city they land in is so clean compared to the shattered cities that are Rudolf’s usual haunt. Unblemished. He can smell the paper, see the wood.

Tod sits them in the shade of a cherry blossom tree and looks to the sky. Dusk is approaching. They don’t have long the wait.

A few of Tod’s angels are the first arrivals, curling up in his lap, in Tod’s. They will need their rest. 

He looks around - the area is familiar enough. They were here before, amidst fire and rubble. But that had been of the earth’s doing. This would not be.

He thinks back to the little models - to the men who had planned this. How best to burn a city? Perhaps long ago he would have felt sick at the prospect. Now he accepts more and more angels as they tuck in around him and Tod. Preparing.

The clock strikes midnight. They are close.

The first angels of death appear overhead. Pathfinders, after a fashion. His eye is high above in that moment.

He snorts, a flicker of humor still remaining. X does indeed mark the spot.

A few angels begin to depart from their vast flock. Their duties have begun.

He can feel the panic already permeating the city. The gunners are shooting high. The gunners are shooting low.

The rest of the angels arrive, high overhead. 

And fire reigns. Their flock, grown even larger in the meantime, disperses. He takes the last angel’s place across Tod’s lap, letting his thoughts take it all in.

Men screaming in panic. Fight! Fight! They cried. He turned toward the fire. It was warm, even from the distance. Their efforts were futile.

The people flee to little holes in the ground. They are safe from the flaming tongues, but fate is cruel. The flames draw the very air to them. The people in the little holes suffocate. 

He thinks of other peaceful bodies, hidden in their shelters below the ground. Fire is an insidious foe. She kills in many ways, not only with her flames.

Others jump into the canals. The flames cannot reach them, but the air is stripped from them as well.

Tod finally rises, offering his arm. He takes it and they stroll through the inferno. The angels are working faster then Rudolf has ever seen them before. 

Tod halts them by a bridge, full of people, and tilts his head up. There is a an angel, high above. He watches as its gifts fall to earth, spellbound.

The screams come as the bombs hit the bridge full of people. They both finally spring into action, passing out kisses left and right. He kisses and kisses and kisses. There are always more.

Somewhere in the back of his mind he notes a few of the angels high above do fall to earth, their guides taken by Tod’s angels. It is nothing compared to the flames.

He departs briefly, when dawn finally breaks. To see the angels as they return. Their undersides are streaked black by the evidence of hellfire.

He returns to the city - still aflame. There is more work to be done.

I am not trying to diminish the horror of any of the other events, merely to make comparisons to events that are better known for the unfamiliar. I’ve been to Dresden. You can still see the scars in the city today. If Chimes has a message then it is war is hell. I won’t ever sugarcoat that.

The worst affected part of the city had seen catastrophic fire damage during the great Kanto earthquake of 1923. The worst single incident of the entire night occurred when a full bomb-load landed on the Kototoi Bridge over the Sumida River, burning many to death. The first bombs fell at 12:08 am. The firefighters were overwhelmed within half an hour. The fire burned itself out by midmorning on 10 March after reaching large open areas. Thousands more of the injured died in the following days. Most of the bodies which were recovered were buried in mass graves without being identified. Many bodies of people who had died while attempting to shelter in rivers were swept into the sea and never recovered. Most historians agree that Japanese casualties were between 90000-100000, though some have suggested much higher numbers. As of 2011, the Tokyo Memorial Hall honored 105,400 people killed in the raid, the number of people whose ashes are interred in the building or were claimed by their family. As many bodies were not recovered, the number of fatalities is higher than this number.

Alhamdulillah that we live Allah's mercy with every waking moment, now with your Nana and Nanu. Ya Shakur that we empathised with each other like never before! Bismillah to this past week's inspirations...

#1. In my past, I had always felt that Sufism places too much emphasis on overcoming one's nafs / ego. Shaykh Nishaat continued with his gentle provocation where it is not only me but most people that don't truly acknowledge it. However, our Nabi SAW wisely identified the struggle against the nafs as the greatest. The struggle against oneself is incumbent upon every single human being.

It is one struggle that we cannot delay, ignore like many like me in my past, by being blissfully unaware of its role or even bluff ourselves by downplaying it! Only we know the truth about our position in relation to Allah. And only when I couldn't hide with worldly busy-ness as an accident survivor, could I earnestly reflect on it! My accident proves that life is short and Allah gave us free will to be able to discern who the boss of it is, and who isn't!

#2. The struggle of the nafs is incumbent on us so that we know ourselves and for what reason we were created for ... as a representative (khalifa) of Allah. We are therefore representing Allah in life. Everything belongs to Allah and we simply have to surrender through Islam and the Sufi path, ended Shaykh Nishaat's deep echo!

#3. We finally arrived to the profound yet simple insights through Shaykh Taner's appearance on IQRA, a virtual global conference on the translation of the Qur'an. From the onset, he appeared as a natural being un-immersed and un-scripted by presentation notes - which we mureeds, were accustomed to as - relaying "heart-language" ! In fact, he jolted the audience awake by instructing them to smile, by reminding themselves that Allah is loving and soft as Ar-Rauf. Because the plenary were getting lost in the semantics of the infamous difficulties of Qur'an translation; Shaykh Taner reminded the audience that Allah is not stern and vengeful, He is our best friend and means well for us!

This was followed by a description of the decade long and elaborate steps undertaken to achieve this Qur'an translation. He emphasised that what is in thie Qur'an is positivity, love and a belief in Allah's softness and forgiveness. During Q&A, he was able to gently respond to a challenge regarding a chronological presentation of the Qur'an. Shaykh Taner emphasised that it made more sense to instil the awe and love of Allah, as originally revealed, over the spiritual rules that ought to govern humanity.

When asked for an opinion on how Allah through the Qur'an professes that it's simple and easy to relate to, Shaykh Taner proclaimed something that even took me aback:

Allah is simple Himself!

At one point, an audience member conveyed interest in helping Shaykh Taner to distribute his translated version of the Qur'an, and after gaging his intention, Shaykh Taner proclaimed:

I love you man!

#4. Was a serrendipitous encounter by Yasmin Mogahed again! At some point, she said that when we question Allah, it's because we are human. What really took me aback was her identification of a spiritual shortfall of mine, that we should stop expecting perfection. Being close to Allah doesn't mean we are perfect and being perfect is in fact, a toxic myth that we have. Nabi SAW said that all the children of Adam will sin, but the best of them are those that will repent! We can always fix our dis-ease through repentance. We ask Allah for forgiveness because Allah is the most forgiving. We must also ask Allah to help us to do better the next time.

Once we understand that Al-Hakim (the Wise Judge); is planning for us, it's easier to bear difficulties because there is an absolute reason for the way things occur. A little "misfortune" could, in fact, be Allah's saving grace! We ought to be content with Allah's decree, and we must remember that there is wisdom behind everything and there is ease with difficulty. We must assume the best of Allah SWT. Subhana'Allah for the sweet music to my ears, resounding haqq / truth!

#5. It was a peaceful farewell to Spirit who coloured our hearts with possibility thinking; in that we can communicate with animals, Insha'Allah. Alhamdulillah for a life well lived in Spirit's final years, a particularly long lifespan for his kind, Ya Shakur for him perishing as a free spirit!

We also end with gratitude that your Abbu is safe and sound with your Yaaseen Bhai, in George. Insha'Allah they stay that way as they assume my artsy inclination on their shared exploration.

Courthouse Ceremonies is some of my favorites!  Sure it can save a buttload of money going this route but what always strikes me when I ask my couples why they chose a Courthouse Wedding, is the common response isn’t about saving money, it’s “because it’s our day and we wanted it to just be about us”.  To be clear, the same can be true about traditional weddings but in my experience, there is something unique and intimate about eloping.  The couples are almost always void of stress and their time and attention are just on each other.

In doing my research for this blog post I reached out to one of my favorite Judges, Honorable Nicholas Chu, to ask him a few questions.  He was crazy quick in responding and was so incredibly kind and helpful.

INTERVIEW WITH JUDGE CHU

Q: How long do the ceremonies typically last?

A: Generally, the ceremony itself last about 5 minutes. During the pandemic, my court has restricted indoor ceremonies to have only the judge and the couple present. Sometime we will do ceremonies at the steps of the courthouse with guest socially distant (and following all local pandemic orders). When someone is taking pictures or recording, I always check to make sure we are setup the way that will produce the best pictures for the couple; and that may take some time to setup. Usually the whole event takes about 15 minutes.

Q: What’s your favorite part about performing the ceremonies?

A: Getting to hear wonderful stories about the couple and their plans for the future. I really like meeting people, and when the pandemic is over I look forward to having larger courthouse weddings and getting to chat with their families/friends as well!

Q:  Tell us a fun memory or experience you’ve had.

A:  I’ve had several weddings where family members joined by teleconference from all over the world, including one with a family member serving in Afghanistan. Those ceremonies are really special because I’m just glad physical distance didn’t prevent someone from being a part of the couple’s special day.

Q: What is the process for a Courthouse Ceremony?

A: For Justice of the Peace, Pct. 5, if a couple is interested in my court performing the wedding ceremony, they can call (512) 854-9049 or email (which is preferred) [email protected]. Let us know what date and time (or time range) you are interested in and we will let you know if that works on your schedule. If you have any special requests, like a photographer is going to be involved, let us know. Sometime during the work day, another judge may officiate the wedding ceremony because of my court schedule, but we’ll always have a judge available. If your ceremony is schedule during non-business hours or on a weekend/holiday, I’ll personally give you a call a day before the ceremony to go over some of the logistics. If you are scheduled for the workday, we won’t call you before the ceremony (but we are always happy to answer any questions if any should pop up). Other courts may have different procedures so check with the court that you are scheduling with about their processes.

Q: What are some things couples need to think about or plan for?

A:  We try to do all the hard parts so that the couple can just enjoy the day. The biggest thing is to make sure you bring your wedding license! Most couples prefer me to take care of submitting the wedding license to the County Clerk’s office and I’m happy to do so. Other than that, try to arrive on-time or a little bit early, sometimes we have multiple weddings scheduled for the day so I want to meet my obligations with each couple.

Q: Any advice or words of wisdom you’d like to pass on?

A: I’ve officiated over a thousand wedding ceremonies since being a judge and it has been a tremendous honor to officiate each one of them. Enjoy the day and live in the moment. This is one of the happiest days of your relationship, but when a marriage is successful there will be many more happy days to come!
