On that note, according to my ATP, Medicare/Medicaid has started outright denying titanium frame chairs, which can pose a problem for Everyone since a lot of health insurances base their policies on Medicare model. So before, they would cover titanium, then more recently (past few years) it became covering the chair but Not the titanium upgrade price so you paid out of pocket for that part, and now they are apparently just denying the whole chair if it's titanium frame.

The plan was to Make Actual Lunch, and Do Laundry, but instead I used up literally my entire burst of energy on going down the street and buying a pumpkin pie of all things, which I don't even feel like eating??? Huh?? The first 20 minutes in like a month that I don't feel Completely Out Of It, and this is how I use my one decision-making braincell.

I'm making a farming sim game where the protagonist is in a wheelchair to prove that you can incorporate disability rep into any game genre and already the concepts and mechanics feel way more fun and interesting than stardew valley (although I'm very obviously biased and I already thought stardew valley was kinda boring)

Little update since I'm aware for a bit. I'm considering getting a wheelchair for the inner world, since it seems like my problems are manifesting as having very weak and mostly immovable legs for hours or days at a time. Lovely.
Well, if nothing else my army grows.
#Upgraded to crutches a while back since I needed more even support than just my cane#then this started happening (fewer pain flareups though so that's nice...) and my boyfriend's been transporting me around#yesterday he suggested hm maybe it might be worth getting a wheelchair in the inner world since I literally can't get around#unless he carries me#the funny thing is that up until that point I figured this was a perfectly fine accommodation that didn't require an aid#Not that he minds but it does sort of highlight my current ability to move around#unfortunately this isn't really a negotiable thing since it's psychological problems translated to internal problems#so whatever I do I will still have some sort of major problem#and frankly I don't want to know what our brain would come up with if I denied it this#I do not have the time for testing it

"This week, the Department of Transportation (DOT) announced a new rule requiring airlines to make bathrooms more accessible for disabled people. All new single-aisle aircraft will be fitted with fully-accessible lavatories.
Most flights inside the United States are single-aisle and as technology has improved, they are used more frequently for long flights, including coast-to-coast trips that can last as long as six hours. Double-aisle plans are already subject to the regulation but are primarily used for international flights.
Out Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg announced the new regulations, saying, “Traveling can be stressful enough without worrying about being able to access a restroom; yet today, millions of wheelchair users are forced to choose between dehydrating themselves before boarding a plane or avoiding air travel altogether.” ...
The secretary has made it a priority to improve service on airlines during his tenure. In 2022, six airlines were forced to pay millions of dollars in refunds to hundreds of thousands of customers and were also fined millions for causing the issues. The department’s firm stance on the side of customers has continued through this year after multiple companies have had meltdowns, stranding thousands of travelers.
All planes delivered to airlines starting in 2026 must include several upgrades. Planes already in service will not need to be retrofitted unless the plane is renovated.
“These aircraft must have at least one lavatory of sufficient size to permit a passenger with a disability (with the help of an assistant, if necessary) to approach, enter, and maneuver within the aircraft lavatory, to use all lavatory facilities, and leave by means of the aircraft’s onboard wheelchair if necessary,” the DOT said in a statement.
Accessible faucets and controls, grab bars, accessible call buttons and door locks, minimum obstruction to the passage of an onboard wheelchair, and an available visual barrier for privacy are also required upgrades."

I would very much like to hear your Vox headcanons
Takes a deep breath before opening my mouth cartoonishly wide.
Definitely was disabled during life but probably hid it pretty well. I feel like Vox was sick a lot growing up.
Having a body thats both mechanical AND flesh? Yeah that sounds like an actual nightmare to live.
The only upside is Vox using his electricity for weird electrotherapy. And sometimes he gets annoyed and overdoes it when he doesnt immedietly feel better.
Vox makes his own aids and equipment, and deals with most of his health issues by himself too unless its too bad.
Makes sure his aids are at least stylish in the VoxTek branding. But he doesnt sell them probably. Those are his. Made for himself.
Probably has arthritis and definitely Hypermobile and generally his body just HATES him tbh. Maybe EDS or even POTS. Chronic migraines too (you would too if you had a screen for a head!!!!!) Doesnt have a pinpointed diagnosis though. Vox just sort of Deals with his symptoms.
He didnt start having as much chronic pain until he really started focusing on upgrading himself and everything etc.
Hmmm....I feel like Alastor has arthritis so it was one of the things they bonded over when he were on good terms
I feel like it wasnt the root cause when he was alive but polio WAS kinda ....a thing...that was going on..
Teleports any chance he can get over walking long distances.
He wouldnt consider himself housebound but he kind of is? Not in a traditional sense, its more out of choice. He never really leaves the V tower unless he has to. Lives there, brought his work there so he didnt have to leave, literally moved his closest friends in, and then moved THEIR work in. Why would he leave he has everytbing he'd want.
Thats not even a headcanon Vox just. Did that.
I feel like he gets flare-ups pretty easily. Constantly overworking and getting generally just getting worked up over things (ALASTOR).
Probably prefers crutches and canes over a wheelchair when it comes to mobility aids. I feel he'd feel too short idk. but the idea of him in a wheelchair is very cool to me. Nerdy Evil Supervillian

Shigaraki and Izuku meet at a young age. "Can I at least be a hero you would be proud of?" "I'll stay right here in Musutafu and protect everyone here! I won't leave anyone behind.”
[middle school] Shrapnel from a hero fights injures Izuku and paralyzes his legs. Shigaraki visits Izuku in the hospital.
Overwhelmed, Tomura runs away after learning the extent of the injuries
Izuku meets Kurogiri for the first time in the hospital.
"Have we not met before?" "Once. When you were little." Shigaraki: "He's still pretty little."
Tomura goes on walks with Izuku in his wheelchair. Izuku convinces him to ride the chair with him down a hill. It breaks the tension that Tomura had inadvertently not let go from the injury.
Tomura and Kurogiri are reported by nursing staff to authorities behind scenes
Naomasa, Aizawa and All Might question Izuku.
"I'm not sure how much I can help you. Everything I know is just… personal things. Not where he's going next." "Anything you can give us would be very helpful." "I'm not sure knowing his favorite foods is very good information."
"Did you notice him beginning to act strangely before the USJ?" "He was… more talkative I think? He's gotten quieter since I was injured. It was nice."
"Has he ever shown signs of aggression towards you?" "No. (Pause) Tomura has always hated heroes. I've always loved them, so of course we disagreed on that matter. But never more than that."
Tomura returns to the hospital to find Izuku's room empty
Izuku and Inko are taken into protective custody at UA. "No offense, but UA has already been attacked, is this really a good idea?" "The security was upgraded. Your only other option is Tartarus." "Right."
"I used to work so hard to get here." "You wanted to go to UA?" Aizawa makes an odd face "Right. I'm quirkless. Honestly that's insulting coming from you. You fight quirkless. Your quirk doesn't enhance your strength or improve your fighting at all. You had to train your body like anybody else with a decent gym membership."
"Even now I could technically still try to be a hero. There are many heroes that use prosthetics."
Hatsume persistently offers to make prosthetics, which Izuku refuses, sounding very put off by the suggestion
Mirio finds Izuku in the halls. "Are you lost?" "No. I'm looking for an elevator." "Have you found one?" "Obviously not." "Then doesn't that mean you're lost?" "I feel like you would be infuriating if you weren't so genuine." "Haha!"
"I'm going to Nezu's office." "Oh that's right up here!" "Elevator?" "Down there. I could help you!"
Mirio carries Izuku (still in the wheelchair) up the stairs. "Were you showing off?" "A little bit!"
Nezu "It wouldn't be fair to keep you here with nothing to do, so I've decided to give you access to our educational material during your stay here."
“That sounds like a roundabout way to say that you’re making me go to school without actually enrolling me.”
Mirio "replaces" Tomura's role in Izuku's life unintentionally. Izuku is perturbed when he notices.

i also hate quickies perhaps more than is sensible but it's like. why does this need to have so many parts, when tilite does it in less and i know i like it that way. hoping things work out for u to get w the best manufacturer for you :)
I suppose it's harder to manufacture a chair in Less parts? TiLites really are so good. I really wish Hands On Concepts took insurance because their chairs look So cool. Also the RGK Octane 4 being guaranteed to be under 8.8lbs is very sexy to me but it's definitely a chair where you Need to know what exactly you like. I don't think I have enough wheelchair exp to know For Sure and TiLites' adjustability is really nice for that. Like I have Notes about my current chair but beyond improvements I am not aware enough to be like "yes I want this exact degree camber for the next 5 years."
Thank you though! :) I really hope after all these bumps that it starts going smoother. At least I live in an area populated by enough disabled people that the local NSM office isn't my only option.

The Hewitts weren’t accepting of you at first; they are extremely traditional. They wanted Thomas to fall in love with a woman, not a man. How was Luda gonna have grandchildren now?
The family will soon come to appreciate you when they found out you were a biomedical engineer and an experienced one at that. Good thing because the Hewitts have a serious problem of lost-limb-itis. Maybe you can make Monty two new limbs so Hoyt doesn’t have to push him around in that wheelchair. Seriously, it frustrates him to push that old fart around.
You make over $100,000 a year? Damn! To the Hewitts, you're hella rich. Why don’t you make good use of that money and use it to help provide for your family huh?
Anyways, remember when Erin Hardesty cut off Thomas’s arm at the end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003? Alright, flash forward, Thomas returns home, having lost a lot of blood. He’s weak and Luda is absolutely freaking out. Her baby boy’s arm had just been cut off for Christ sake! That’s where you come in.
You took measurements of his arm so you could create a new arm that perfectly fits comfortably on his shoulder. Once you got all the measurements, you went straight to work. You took out your special blueprint paper and skillfully sketched the prosthetic to look almost identical to Thomas’s existing arm.
It took several weeks to actually construct the arm. The Hewitts had none of the parts you needed laying around the property; you’d have either Monty or Hoyt go fetch the parts from the local junkyard. You’d spend long hours attaching and welding the parts together until you’ve got the arm exactly how you wanted it.
Once the arm was finished, Luda and Thomas were amazed. It looked just like Thomas’s arm, but metal! Thomas was reluctant to try it on. When you strapped it on his shoulder, he tested it: swinging his arm back and forth, moving his forearm up and down, wiggling his fingers, and any other stuff you can do with your arm.
Thomas was so thankful. He gave you the biggest hug and didn’t let go for a long time. You fixed his arm and now he can provide for his family again! He wants to return the favor for the kindness you’ve shown him. After all, you could've just got up and walked out on him, but you stayed and helped him.
Thomas wants you to teach him how to construct prosthetics and anything else that you do. He thinks it would be a good skill to learn. Thomas is a pretty fast learner so it won’t be too difficult to show him the ropes.
Overtime, not only is he a master chainsaw-welder, but he’s a master engineer as well. It’s his side hobby that he does whenever he has free time. He creates all sorts of stuff that helps the family with catching ‘food’. Also, he never comes to you when he needs to tweak his prosthetic: he does it all himself. He even upgrades it every once and awhile too.

Rating MILGRAM shoes because- what are those?!
Inspired by a post I stumbled upon talking about Kotoko's T1 shoes I decided to go to check all of them and rate one by one both the drip and how pratical they are for a prison. (This is satire please guys don't cancel me over shoe opinions)
1-Haruka Sakurai
T1 Shoes
Ok....bro has that psych ward drip. Honestly they look comfortable for a prison, I'll give him that. 7/10
T2 Shoes
He's not even wearing one of them- how did I never notice that.
He clearly doesn't know how to tie the laces either but anyways, still comfortable and to be honest, I like the shoes. He loses points for not wearing one of them so- 7/10 (Mu teach this poor kid how to wear shoes pls)
2-Yuno Kashiki
T1 Shoes
Typical school shoes, not bad but still boring, they also start to hurt after a while. I've seen how you dress girl, come on you can do better than this..... I'd say 4/10
T2 Shoes
(Why did she have to split her legs so much....have one of them)
There was an upgrade i guess, it's more stylish but still uncomfortable to stand on for days on end in a prison. 4/10
3-Fuuta Kajiyama
T1/T2 Shoes (man didn't even bother changing shoes)
What are these bulky ah shoes.....I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say they must at least be comfortable since they look like sports shoes. (can we talk about those socks tho-) 6/10

Now we are talking, the biggest glow up ever!!
They are literally just military security boots, go off queen, slay (perferably not literally, we've seen that enough)

@titans-trash suggested way for babs and damian to bond is damian getting interested in the engineering of barbara's wheelchair when she talks to him about it (which tracks for him b/c hes interested in designing the flying batmobile i think he has pretty strong interest in building things and how stuff works so anyway, and barbara is interested in gadgets and upgrades her own wheelchair with tasers and stuff so I think she's interested in it too)

Hello!! It's Wheelchair Annon again!! ^^
When designing the electric wheelchair for Leo, how does Donnie deal with the problem of battery life, especially considering all the super cool extras? Does Leo have any problems remembering to plug it in? (<- this one gets me regularily) Has it ever run out of power while they were out and about? (Portals would make this WAY easier to deal with - no need to get someone to push your monsterously heavy chair for miles). How far is the limit of his chair? (for example, mine should go for 18 miles on one charge, but the more extra weight I have the less far it will go). Does Leo ever find himself in that extremely annoying situation where you have JUST enough battery life to get to where you need to go, but your chair is stupidly slow because its so low on power?
Also, and this is the REALLY important question - how long does it take the chair to gain sentience?
Rise itself doesn't really care too much about the real-world feasibility of Donnie's tech and I don't, either; realistically the chair Donnie designs would probably be too power-hungry to be actually useful in everyday life, but he builds jetpacks and massive tanks and machines that turn his brothers smart so I'm fine with handwaving how exactly the chair manages all the stuff he crammed into it haha
THAT SAID imagining Leo in various instances of power-loss is fun! I'm sure forgetting to charge it is something that happens pretty often, especially at first. I feel like Leo is also the kind of person who is bad at remembering to charge his phone so he's always walking around with it at 18%. Good news: even if the chair is heavy, Raph has no issue moving it lol. And yeah, eventually having his portals back means he'll just be able to get back to the lair that way.
The chair going too slow because it's low on battery would drive him absolutely crazy though. He will beg Donnie for rocket boosters. Raph says no to this one (Donnie says they'll try it in the next upgraded model).
As for sentience, well, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N can interface with it directly, so maybe in a way it already has ^^

rainjoy is one of my favorite Klaine fanfic authors. Their first Klaine fanfic was published on LiveJournal in 2011, their last in 2021. Health issues have become more intense over time. Their most famous works, All The Other Ghosts and Grey, were published in 2012 and 2013. Hello, I do mean it, hello anybody around to see this, I really hope you’ve been well, I’m sorry I haven’t been around, I *haven’t* been well. But I have, over a course of fucking months, actually written something, so I’m writing *this* here so I don’t need to leave a novel-length author’s note on it, as some kind of explanation of where I’ve been.
Largely, I’ve been in bed, I’m likely going there again after posting this, they need to invent new words for how tired I am so much of the time, my upgraded wheelchair is worth about as much as my *laptop*, my life revolves around Can I? Probably not. and lots and lots and lots of ‘resting’. I’ve not been well, but please don’t worry, I’ve not been unhappy. This is the golden age of being ill, the sheer quantity of stuff out there to amuse the bedbound – I have books and podcasts, all of Netflix, I practically live on Sky: Children of the Light, when I’m too dopey even for that I have Animal Crossing, when I am genuinely such a puddle of not-human lethargy that all I need is for time to pass until I feel just slightly better again I have videos of other people playing video games on YouTube and I’m sorry my darling baby moths I will pick you up and help you every single time but it will never not be funny watching someone go through Eden for the first time on YouTube, it just never will not make me laugh, oh my gods I’m so *sorry* my loves <3
So anyway, there’s all that, that’s where I’ve been, life really does not work out the way you planned it to, huh? Because outside of my bed, I know I have messages and emails and someone got a tattoo?? You got a tattoo and I’m just really sorry I haven’t been in touch, my energy has to be paid out like a miser, if I want to wash my hair then wow the world is really not getting anything else out of me, you know? But I am still here, and I do still love the things I love. I still think all of it is worth it. I think the world is a *lot* of fun, though I bear in mind that still, and always, we live through very frightening and distressing times. Which actually makes me think we need to cling to the things we love *more*, not less, love makes better people of us, when we let it.
So I did watch the new season of Good Omens when it came out, and safe to say I was not impressed, but it did jog in me the memory that didn’t I write a sequel to it? Yes I did, and it involved *all* that blood. But I reread it – it’s like reading a stranger’s writing after so long – and that jogged the memory: Didn’t you start a sequel to *this*?
Yes I did! Two thirds written, actually, hurrah for my past self. The last third took, I don’t know, when did the new season come out, it took that long. I used to sneeze out this sort of thing. This, now, is getting at my arms, it’ll be another lie down soon. But anyway, the point of all this: I live yet. In the next few days I *hope* I will be formatting and posting a sequel to But Thou Readst Black because of course everyone wants *that* back in their heads again, my gods. And I hope hope hope you’ve been well, I do think of people while I’m stuck doing nothing but pooling my brain out of my ears on YouTube. Look after yourselves, take care of each other, my gods you tattooed yourself I mean more power to you but it alarms me when things I make turn out to be *permanent*, you know?
