There's something wild deep in my bones,
Deep in my soul,
A restless ache that keeps me awake,
Keeps me moving,
I'm a roamer,
A wander dear,
This free spirit will never settle,
You can't cage wanderlust hun,
All you'll get is a broken heart,
Because the road is my home,
And you're too sweet to have to see me walk out that door not knowing if I'll ever come back.

Olay so obviously it's bullshit anyway cause it's by "reddit standards" which can skew toward being yikes sometimes. But I hate hate hate the r/amiugly sub. I hate it to pieces
Nearly every single person who posts is a person who is so Conventional Beauty Standards (usually white skinny small nose makeup wearing) compliant they could be an Instagram model or brand promoter. I know the 1-10 beauty rating scale teen boys (or just Redpill yikes people idk) think about is stupid anyway. But like even within that ridiculous idea of people being 1-10 in good looking, every single poster on amiugly is a 10. If we are comparing to basically any normal person you walk past at the grocery store. They're all Model Looks Compliant. That's a 10 out of 10 in the sense of "they could get a job or at least a following from their conventional proportionate appearance"
And then the amiugly subreddit will rate them 4-7 out of 10. For a multitude of reasons. Usually anyone with dyed hair, unnatural looking makeup, or piercings, gets the lowest rating. Even though in some circles that'd be more beautiful, it's not "societal norm compliant beauty standards" so a lip piercing makes you "ugly." Anyway. The real reason everyone gets rated as ugly, despite clearly being more conventionally beauty standard compliant than most people I see in daily life? Because the people responding to such posts WANT to destroy someone's self esteem, put down someone so they feel less bad about their own horrible self esteem and low self worth, and the people posting their selfies have low self esteem too and want confirmation the hate they feel for themselves is valid and shared by others. It's just a lose lose all the way down. It's a mutual let's all feel shit about ourselves And/or cope with it in ways that hurt each other. Phenomenal. I fucking hate it. I hate it so so much
Anyway in short if you have any body issues or self esteem issues never click that subreddit, because it loves putting down absolutely anyone and everyone, and seeing that you are gonna feel worse about yourself whether you're the person posting getting shit on no matter what or the person responding and critiquing so much that pretty much no one will live up to the altered beauty standards you're enforcing (including yourself and anyone you meet in person) so you'll start feeling more inadequate overall. :/ not a good time

Captain Frederick Wentworth's letter to Anne Elliott 🍒💌 I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine. I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others. Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in F. W. I must go, uncertain of my fate; but I shall return hither, or follow your party, as soon as possible. A word, a look, will be enough to decide whether I enter your father's house this evening or never.

From a thing to wear to an icon of culture 👘
Tumblr media
There is this hidden detail in Muzan that when I noticed I could not help but smile. Remember how he said that the thing he hated the most was change? Well coming from someone that had to live in 5 different eras is kinda funny, and it's even funny when you realize that he ended up adopting the Western fashion pretty fast. But that's the twist, if you look at Muzan's vest you come to realize that it's the exact same pattern as the kimono he used to wear. The best part? That was a thing that actually happened in history.
Tumblr media
Wanting or not, the clothing that the people used to wear represents the history they lived through. "To look seriously at art objects of the everyday, such as clothes - their discourse and practices, their meaning-bearing forms and their codes of internal and external interpretations - in an essential, and often neglected, component of any study of modern aesthetics." - Slade, 2009 Yofuku [Western Clothing] is a type of clothing that is now common all over Japan, but during a lot of time, it was a type of clothes that only selected few grew up with. The 1st contacts with these types of clothing [even if extremely different from what we now call western clothing] was in the 16th century when the Portuguese arrived in Tanegashima. With them came not only different shapes but also different fabrics. But the “true” introduction to western fashion would only happen with Commodore Matthew Perry, catharsis to the Meiji restoration, where Emperor Meiji would start to dress in a typical western military outfit, and soon after the empress would start to aper in the typical victorian dresses. In the Edo period clothing visually distinguished the social classes. "Certain articles of clothing visibly differentiated people of diverse social classes, and simultaneously distinguished an individual within a specific group. The materials, motifs and construction of military campaign coats, for example, marked their wearers as men belonging to the military class." - Milhaupt, 2014; Samurai ranked on the top, followed by farmers, artisans, and merchants on the bottom. What happen was that most of the times the samurai where poor while the merchants lived in economic success. But samurai had the privilege of using certain types of fabrics and patters, even tho most of the times they could not afford them, and so, the merchants would start to adapt the fabrics and patters they were allowed to were and would end up becoming the patrons of arts and fashion. The trends of fashion would later be documented in ukiyo-e, and not only in the work of art sense, but also in pattern books were people could browse the prevailing styles. After the 1st contacts with the westerners, what would start to happen is that slowly but surely the Japanese would start to integrate the western ways of dressing into their lives. The Japanese started to introduce some of its elements with the kimono, shoes, hats, gloves, glasses, umbrellas, etc. Then in the 19th century a full change would happen starting from the man in the highest classes to the man in the lowest classes. The emperor decided to cut his topknot in 1872 and started to dress in western clothing in official appearances, also changing some of the more cultural habits like eating meat and more wester kind of meals. In the official portraits he appears adorned with a French-style military uniform with ornaments in gold and ostrich feathers. Before this, the emperor was never a public figure, so when pictures of the Meiji Emperor became available, and he started to appear more publicly the nation would have their eyes on him and start to imitate him. Women would, for the longest time still dress in the now classic kimono, that would develop as a symbol of the old and traditional Japan. The idea of the western clothing being associated with a modernized Japan and the Kimono [that literally means “thing to wear”] to a traditional country came from the fact that the emperor would choose to wear western clothes in more formal, international events, and for religious national events would choose the traditional Japanese court dress. The western clothes will end up being a symbol of the modernization of Japan, and the Meiji government would use it as yet another tool of national control. For all the Japanese born after 1945 the western clothes became the norm. Most families would end up transforming their kimonos into western clothing pieces, and the patterns sold for kimonos would double for kimonos and western clothing.
Tumblr media
But it is funny to notice how despite it all Muzan is the one being presented in western clothing and Ubuyashiki is the one in traditional clothes, always being the contradiction of the other, but also it can also be interpretated as the Ubuyashibi family being "trapped" in the past since in hundred years the corps never killed an upper moon, the history never changed. And Muzan in his ever-changing cycle of his life, in the changing of eras and changing of personas he decided to reuse the only thing he could: his clothes. And just like him, they would adapt through the times.

WIFEY HOW’RE YOU ITS BEEN SO LONG
also I totally accidentally unfollowed you earlier today. I went to come check your account out (I did it at work) and when my manager came out I literally freaked and hit it LMFAO
how’s life been lately, any updates :)
alsoooooooo maybeeee wanna ask about your favorite aesthetic??? :)
hiiiiiiiii sweets I'm okayyyyyy
I saw you refollow me last evening and I was like "hey! where'd she go and for how long!"
life's been busy but I've been feeling better in general - writing is sucking ass lately though which makes me feel kind of useless but I'm working on it
how are you??
as for aesthetics.....idk that I'm actually one aesthetic? I like them all? for home stuff I'm like a mix of Scandinavian and maximalist? they seem like opposites but I love light and airy with a lot of colour and patterns
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[I have a lot of those faux sheepskin's around my house and apartment haha, and I have very colourful art/I am the trinket queen according to my friends lol]
for style/lifestyle hmmmm honestly I wear a lot of athleisure wear just because of my work and lifestyle lol, and when I'm not wearing that I'm wearing paint splattered clothes from the past three years of home Renos, but I think if I was living my ideal life, I'd probably be like... a mixture between .soft wester/granola western and whimsical aesthetic? I know for sure growing up - I apparently had a better sense of self and had a way better style and I was definitely whimsical in the way I dressed lol - and I think my friends would agree if you search "whimsical aesthetic" on Pinterest that it would fit me well.

if i wanted to i could make a whole analisys of Setsuna's outfits (because I actually believe they're mostly intentional in how they look and their relation to Setsuna's character). I will not do that but i think her post-redemption aesthetic is actually so interesting
Because the obvious choice of clothing for a character post-redemption is to give them a color palette that is lighter than what it used to be, yet for setsuna Fresh chose to, rather than keep up the fake Setsuna personality that was curated to befriend Love, lean into the Eas side of things a bit more. This makes more sense if you assume that Eas, Wester and Souler had some imput in what they wanted for their outfits to look like (since they're different from the usual Labyrinth uniform).
pre-redemption Setsuna outfits include both white and red, if i remember correctly black (or any darker color) is pretty much nonexistent in them. the opposite for her post-redemption, post-redemption Setsuna is actually more into darker clothes and, dare I say, more of an alt clothing style (the leather jacket adds a lot to that). it sticks out from Love, Miki and Bukki but that's kind of the point. she can be a Cure but she doesn't have to suddenly abandon her identity as Eas.
it's also fun because you can compare Cure Passion's outfit to Eas's outfit and it derives so much from it + it has an inverted color palette (main color red, black accent color, instead of main black, accent red) which
1. this is different from the other Fresh cures since for them it works as main color + same accent color just different shade (making their outfits much lighter in comparison to Passion)
2. accentuates Setsuna's past as Eas instead of ignoring it which makes so much sense considering Setsuna still feels tied to Labyrinth

Installation shots of “The Venusians” at Come Again in Berlin, pt. 2
The Venusians 9 Sept—22 Oct 2022
Artists: Jesse Bransford, Elijah Burgher, Oliver Coran, Keturah Cummings, Frank Haines, Sholem Krishtalka, Anwar Mahdi, David Anaya Maya, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Annie Sprinkle & Beth Stephens, Ryan M. Pfeiffer + Rebecca Walz, Timothy Wyllie
Organized by Berlin-based artists Elijah Burgher and carrick bell, The Venusians is presented by New Discretions, New York + Sean Horton (Presents), New York + Wester Exhibitions, Chicago.
Venus is thought by astrologers to influence those zones of human experience over which the planet’s namesake Goddess is sovereign: love, intimacy, attraction, beauty, pleasure, luxury and the good life. Alchemically, Venus corresponds to copper, which was used for mirrors in the ancient world for its high reflectiveness when polished. Indeed, the goddess is frequently depicted at her toilette, gazing at her reflection while tending her appearance. A mixture of self-care and vanity are amongst her attributes, as well then. The roman goddess and her Greek counterpart, Aphrodite, are not the only goddesses of antiquity identified with the planet: Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte and other Queens of Heaven preceded them. The Sumerian goddess Inanna’s journey into the underworld was a mythic translation of a visible, celestial fact: periodically Venus goes retrograde and appears to be moving backwards in the sky. (Interestingly, Venus spins in an opposite direction to the other planets in our solar system, so it could be said she rotates in a retrograde manner.) Inanna’s descent is not only instructive in terms of the planet’s rich history of religious symbolism, but also implicates the negative valence of these goddesses’ principal attribute. Love is not only a matter of joy, romance and sex but also jealousy, infidelity, grief and even murderous rage.
In bringing together this sundry group of artists and dubbing them “Venusians,” we highlight certain threads that connect them and to which the goddess holds the reigns: sexuality, beauty and magick. Venusians, as we define them, draw out the electrical potentials of the sexual body. Elements of sex magick and other rituals, both self-invented and received, find the body unfurling as a tether between cosmic and terrestrial spheres, fellow humans, and non-human and natural participants. Some works represent these practices. Others actively function as elements of ongoing ritual, or are remnants of previously performed ritual acts. Beauty is paramount whether it is a matter of esoteric order, aesthetic expertise or reconceived through challenge or negation. In any case, those electrical potentials must be circulated through an object that conducts those energies to viewers, recasting them as candidates for seduction or religious conversion or taunting them as suspiciously disinterested anthropologists. Those are the stakes. Venusians seek connection that goes beyond mere discourse.

👗 (to all five of your muses, if you're up for it!)
(Oh heck yeah!)
Send "👗" and I'll show you what type of clothing my muse normally wears (can be a description, drawing or a reference image)
Wester tends to get hot easily, so he usually walks around in t-shirts even in the middle of winter. He doesn't like restrictive clothing and generally prefers a pair of sweatpants or shorts over jeans. These outfits come closest to what I imagine he would wear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Etienne goes for what could be considered "classy/smart casual." He enjoys button-up shirts with a few buttons undone but doesn't scoff at a good turtleneck either. A bit like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Benjamin dresses in a classy manner, lots of suits and dress shirts. He wouldn't be found dead in a t-shirt and jeans. He also has a lot of green in his wardrobe. The outfit on the right especially screams Benjamin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sylvester doesn't care much for his appearance so his clothing style isn't especially defined. Still, when leaving the house he does try to make himself look presentable. He leans toward the dark academia aesthetic (tends to make him look a bit like a history teacher or librarian), and he enjoys wearing multiple layers as well as natural colors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mary Ann dresses in Rockabilly style. She does like the silhouette of the dresses but the skirts are annoying when she's up to her usual bullshit, so she gravitates more towards jeans.

Best Indian Jewelry Designs You Need To Checkout This Wedding Season
The way weddings are celebrated changed over the years. It is not just the wedding day anymore but every festivity that counts in and if we have to talk about grand weddings, then nothing can beat great Indian weddings. Be it food, venue, celebration, or jewelry, every detail about their weddings is lavish.
Multiple stores for Indian jewelry in Charlotte, NC introduce a new collection every year dedicated to brides-to-be to add to their once-in-a-lifetime moment. This collection has a versatile range of jewelry covering multiple styles and patterns.
Here are some inspiring Indian jewelry designs that you can flaunt this wedding season.
Diamond And Emerald Necklace:
Diamonds and emeralds are counted among the most stunning and precious jewelers. You can imagine how these two beautiful stones are brought together in the piece of jewelry and how amazing will it be. Indians have been using emerald stone in their jewelry for ages. In this necklace, diamonds are placed beautifully creating an indo-wester pattern that can elevate your style instantly. Its traditional yet modern makeup is beyond stunning. The cherry on the cake is emerald stones, which are adding a lot more character to this piece.
Temple Jewelry Necklace:
It is that one piece that you all look out for in Indian jewelry shops near me. The tradition of adorning gods with jewels in India is centuries old. That is what served as an inspiration for this collection and today it is one of the most famous variants of Indian jewelry in demand across the world. Temple jewelry is graced with kundans, diamonds, gemstones, pearls, etc in the most beautiful way. Made in gold, this jewelry is also very durable. It is on the costlier side because of its intricate design and detailing. It is, however, worth every penny, since you will be the star of the show when you wear it.
Kundan Chokar Necklace:
The Kundan necklace is one classic piece of jewelry that has glorified many queens for ages and does the job for new-era brides. These chokers are aesthetically elegant that will add to your look flawlessly. Kundan jewelry is also known to be luxury jewelry since it was an important part of royal jewelry collections. Rajasthani jewelry artisans in India have preserved the art of jewelry creation for centuries. These stones are placed together creating a beautiful symmetry attached with strings of gold and pearls. The sophisticated display of uncut polkis, diamonds, and rubies adds a lot more serenity to this necklace making it a perfect bridal jewelry.
Every woman deserves an enchanting piece of jewelry for her wedding day, and these Indian jewelry pieces are indeed dreamy. You can add any of these options to your bridal trousseau. If you need to explore the further option, visit Malak Jewelers. They are the most celebrated jewelry store in Charlotte, NC, and exhibit a massive collection of Indian jewelry.

[Tracklist] 1. renatured: disarticulating, evowelating (15:16) 2. renatured: improjection, de-emplacement (18:25)
Live performance recording by Leo Okagawa at Ftarri (Tokyo) on July 9, 2022 (Gretchen Jude, amplified voice; Leo Okagawa, electronics).
Overdub recordings and audio composition by Gretchen Jude in the Champion Mobile Unit during a Sou’ Wester Artist Residency (Seaview, Washington, USA) in October 2022.
[Comments from Gretchen Jude] renatured (body without image) for a singer +
1. disarticulating, evowelating 2. improjection, de-emplacement
I wrote this instructional score as part of my ongoing project to examine and explore habitual and predetermined forms of vocalization. The four words (+ title) call into question vocal technique as conceptualized within dominant Euroamerican voice pedagogy, which cultivates a culturally specific (often wrongly universalized) aesthetic approach to the range of human sounding. To me, virtuosity feels like a gilded cage. What if I instead try to blur consonants, loosen vowel shapes, allow resonance to wander, and let my placement be vague? Erasing physical and musical training is an impossible task. But efforts to resist the habitual can illuminate how deeply cultural and linguistic patterns are embedded in the body and psyche. Digging into the internal invisible instrument called “voice” brings to light moments of shining discovery – THIS is another sound I can make! HERE is a different sound I like! NOW I am vibrating with the world beyond my skin…
In this realization of the score, I started with live performance – following my score while my duo partner listened deeply and improvised freely. A few months later, I followed the score alone, recording close-miked vocals as I listened carefully to the recording of the first performance. The presence and proximity of the microphone as a key collaborator can be sensed through the distinct character of my vocals in the two different situations. Many of the organic sounds I made in the duo performance are indistinguishable from electronic sounds. Both recordings are woven together here. Thank you to Leo for inviting me and playing along with my experimentation. Gratitude to our small audience for patiently witnessing the rawness. As always, many thanks to Y.S. at Ftarri. Shout-outs to Curly Cassettes, and thanks to S.R. for your generous feedback.

7. Spring Reading Recommendations
Tumblr media
This list aims at giving a shoutout to longer, sometimes darker fanfics readers might hesitate to commit to due to their length or themes. But these are really GOOD adult reads and you should take a look.
If you have some recommendations for my summer list, comments or criticism, feel free to contact me.
1. The Replacement by @labextia
With Eli Vanto gone, Grand Admiral Thrawn needs a new aide. This new aide is Alemar Corrin who is forced to fill in the big gap, deal with the moody workaholic Thrawn, battle his own personal demons and solve a mystery. Includes minor mentions of sex, major mental health issues, drug and alcohol consumption, blood, etc.
AO3
2. The Way by @daughterofkaraya
Taking care of a force sensitive 50 year old toddler is hard work. Especially if you are a jedi healer named Li'ani who woke up from carbon freeze 30 years after the fall of the jedi temple. This story concentrates on the emotional turmoil of surviving and being alone, showing an actual realistic amount of effort taking care of a child, and refreshingly grown-up confusions about life & sentient interaction between Li'ani and Din Djarin.
AO3 Tumblr
3. I will soften every edge by @jasontoddiefor
Obi-Wan quickly discovers that raising the chosen one is hard. Especially since Obi himself is a rather young master still working through the emotions of loosing his own teacher Qui-Gon Jinn. Facing the homesickness and impulsivity of a kid raised outside of the Jedi temple is an especially tough challenge when things don't go as planned. A story about insecurity, anxiety and growing up.
AO3
4. Cabur by @cora-vizsla
Cabur is the story of a mandalorian warrior being forced to give up The Way due to unfortunate circumstances and choices made by others. It's not only a story about personal convictions, religious upbringing and the mandalorian creed but also about personal responsibility, love between the main character & Paz Viszla, and family.
Tumblr
5. Take me to Church by @frannyzooey
This roller coaster is essentially the lovestory between Din Djarin and an afab sexworker. Set in a Wester AU this smut heavy story goes from indulgent to emotional heavy hitter. Not recommended for sex repulsed readers since most of the story includes smut.
Tumblr
6. Conflicting Aesthetics by @myevilmouse
An art forger is somewhat voluntarily recruited for a mission by the art appreciative Grand Admiral Thrawn. Instead of copying paintings, Seta is tasked with studying rebel art now, acting as a spy and surviving the inquisitory gaze of the mysterious Chiss. The execution of the plot and style are immaculate, reminding me of the spy novel classic "The little Drummer Girl" in both its themes and grittiness.
AO3
7. Saved by Much_Ado_Abt-Novels on AO3
The infamous Boba Fett rescues a Twi'lek woman one day, laying the ground work for the obvious love story and pinning between the two. But the series does not content with just well executed character development and interaction. It also does not shy away from taking a deep dive into meta commentary about problematic aspects in the Star Wars Universe in a smart way.
