The Disabled Billy and Steve Week Prompts are Here!

Hiya- we’ve been working on these for a few weeks but the disabled Billy and Steve prompts are now officially here! We’re not quite ready to decide on a week yet but hopefully people can get a bit more of a feel for the vibe of the event. The prompts are quite flexible so you can just work off the primary prompt and ignore the more specific prompt if they don’t really gel with what you want to do but hopefully you’ll all enjoy these! We tried to make the language as accessible and disability inclusive as we possibly could so that the prompts aren’t too confusing but if you would like some clarity, you can message @intothedysphoria or @hargrove-mayfields about any questions you have.
I think that’s it! If you didn’t get a chance to vote on the initial posts about the event and the server but want to be involved, you can absolutely take part when July comes or request a place on the server by messaging our personal tumblrs!

Yes!!! Okay, I have a lot, but I'll just share a few absolute faves right now:
Where the Streets Have No Names by alltheseghosttowns
Chrissy and Eddie take a road trip to California before Chrissy starts college. I have seriously read this fic so many times already, I adore it. It's got this perfect sort of layered intimacy to it, with Chrissy and Eddie circling feelings neither of them know how to articulate to one another, and the ending basically sends me to the moon. I love it a lot.
Warm, Solid Things by @carry-the-sky
Three times Chrissy takes Eddie up on his invitation to see his band (and one time she doesn't). Okay okay okay, this fic is just so, so magic. Their voices feel pitch perfect, as does this gentle and genuine uncertainty between them where they feel there's something there, but aren't quite sure how to navigate that yet. It's soft and intimate and just brimming with chemistry and charm, and I love it a lot toooo.
Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters by thefireplanet
Chrissy and Eddie are paired together on a group project where they have to try and figure out what art means to them. Another Chrissy POV fic that really explores her shaky sense of self and how Eddie becomes this sort of foil for that. It's a really sweet little fic, and I love the way the author uses art and music to draw out a sense of passion and identity.
Modern Medicine Falls Short of Your Complaint by sansbanshee
A pre-canon fic! Eddie stumbles upon a very drunk Chrissy at a party, and tries to get her home. This is SO CUTE. I love it when fics explore pre-relationship dynamics, especially these sorts of moments where a connection's made but it's not one quite set to last just yet. This fic captures that so well, and I love it a lot.
Stranger Than Kindness by pentaghastly
Chrissy always wanted a pet snake and her parents bought her a mouse. This fic really takes the dynamic of canon and builds on it in interesting ways, in particular by exploring the way that Chrissy's parents have tried to shape her identity into a sort of feminine ideal. It layers that up with this understanding of creatures with teeth, which just really works and creates something special.

OK but imagine Eddie as a rock star. Corroded Coffin is a legendary rock band. Eddies known for his crazy antics. The bands in between tours and albums and he's BORED when a major TV company approaches him to do a reality show about what ever he wants.
Chrissy is a cheer coach for a nationally rated college team and he's experienced first hand how crazy it gets and a new season is about to start....
Eddie Munson presents: Welcome to Cheer Hell is equal parts hard hitting sports documentary, Eddie Munson the Rockstar getting into trouble, and him gushing about how amazing and beautiful his wife is.
He has definitely almost been arrested for being a metal head with a camera crew following around cheerleaders. Chrissy's squad has also done a routine to at least one of his songs.

hellcheer fandom! 😍
The Hellcheer fandom might officially be the nicest fandom I've ever written in. You guys are so welcoming and kind, and I'm overwhelmed with the responses I've gotten for to get my soul known again already!
But, I mean, with Chrissy and Eddie as mascots, how could you all be anything but lovely people?
Anyway, I'm hoping to post Chapter 2 tomorrow, and Chapter 3 on Sunday. I'm going to be in Vegas at a conference next week (BOO) so I don't know how much I'll accomplish there.
