my personal belief is that hobbie brown had been plotting his little revolution for a while now

he saw Miguel and called BS

told miles to make his own watch as he ripped stuff from the walls and stole from other spider-individuals in the lobby

checked with gwen how much miles knew and if they were about to throw a fight

(there's this one line i didn't get when he was on the chair and miles pushed him out of the way and he said "you're not ready for us yet" but maybe it was about his secret sub-group of revolutionary anti miguel and canon event stuff, bc miles was clearly focused on his parents/his friends, which meant he didn't know about the risk Jeff was under nor the betrayal from Gwen and Peter B.)

he went to give Gwen's dad a watch for his daughter (he knew she was going to end up back in her universe) and likely gave it after the fight broke out in the HQ, so with his own watch

hobbie is a super nice guy who believes in freedom and equality, to have miguel telling him his own experience are nothing but meant to be, and then forcefully impose his recruits to ignore others/not help them, yup, called BS

i bet he got an entire group ready for this shit, like Spider Noir is def in it, man fought nazis, hobbie fought fascist, they won't let any of this freedom stealing crap go on

i also believe he told Gwen's dad, to be captain, the fate of the usual Captain Stacy in the multiverse and the lack of help he would receive even if people knew he was in danger. i didn't feel remorse and guilt, more uneasiness and nostalgia in the way he behaved when Gwen came back and announced he quitted. he would have tried to arrest her again but he can't, cause he's not a cop anymore and he can't be a cop cause he's gonna die and he doesn't want to. not bc he tried to arrest his daughter, not because they lost their closeness once peter died. he still believe she's somehow guilty but Gwen still loves him and hobbie stopped his death, changed the "canon event" and went to round up his squad

Aka the we-love-miles-and-dont-always-fit-the-canon-events-bs

which Jess, Ben and Miguel don't fit either since they didn't get bitten by a spider to begin with

btw i love punk culture, and i love hobbie, like the way he just wants to help, mainly the one who are rejected, the marginalized and everything
