Which would also mean that Athena actually gets a case for herself, and that the fun dynamic between Athena and Apollo is expanded and deepened. I still think that Trucy would be the weird girl for this case, because she would end up inserting herself in anyways, she's keeping her bit of family close.

Trucy and Athenas dynamic would be so fun to explore, since Athena, while chaotic, is going to follow the law, she's going to go about things the legal way even in the most desperate of situations, whereas Trucy is not above breaking the law to protect what she holds dear, as shown by her giving Apollo the card and her faking her kidnapping. For Athena, the law was her only hope, for Trucy, the law slowly destroyed the lives of those around her.

And then obviously Athena would use the mood matrix, which would be incredible to see used on Apollo. I can also see Apollo being incredibly secretive about the details of the case, still not trusting Athena, but eventually giving in, possibly after some sort of "therapy" done by Athena unpacking why Apollo has trust issues, or by Trucy nudging it out of him.

Anyways, this would give a great chance for the WAA to actually,,, have established dynamics between them that are deeper than the few lines provided.

So, do you have any theory about why every time GulusGammamon appears there's a black variant digimon around? I admit this is making me super super curious and I can't stop thinking about it.

BOY HOWDY NOW AIN'T THAT THE QUESTION

Now, the thing is that right now, we have VERY LITTLE to go off of on What The Deal Is, right? Like there's near infinite possibilities to What The Deal Is, but there isn't much to indicate which option is the correct one, so like. I could theorize here for days on all the different possibilities and we wouldn't really get any closer to the truth because all we have is breadcrumbs to work off of rn

All we really do know is that: 1. There's multiple black/Virus variant Digimon (not a singular entity, this is a group of some kind) 2. They're monitoring (Gulus)Gammamon

Now we don't really know for sure if the Black Variants are following Gammamon from the shadows all the time, but between the Black Variants just manifesting out of thin air like a Final Fantasy Summon whenever Gulus appears, and them just stalking Gammamon in general (and we, the viewers, are only made aware of said stalking during Gulus' appearances), I'm more inclined to believe the latter. (Theoretically there could be some kind of a story here where every time Gulus appears some Digimon evolve/turn into Virus variants (lowkey kinda like Meicoomon infecting Digimon in tri.) but I feel it'd be kind of repetetive as far as plots go, and I can't quite see how that would tie into the rest of the story/what GG is going for, like I don't think it'd quite fit in here. Also if this was the case I think we would've seen by now at least one Digimon (side)evolve into a Virus variant and not just them stalking Gamma from a distance)

And this leads to the next question; why is this group (united by being Black/Virus variants) stalking Gammamon?

And here is where we could theorize on the possibilities endlessly

(Sidenote I think it's pretty safe to assume that, much like Agumon and co in Psi, (Gulus)Gammamon probably had a life before the series began, was either kinda reset or maybe even died and was reborn before getting sent off to Hiro by Hokuto. Gammamon doesn't remember his past, but Gulus probably does, whatever that may have been. At least that is my assumption of what's happening with Gulus, it is still possible that Gammamon was just Born This Way and Gulus is just deeply buried Naughty Side to Gammamon (kinda like Megidramon to Tamers' Guilmon). IDK, time will tell what the case here is)

Gulus could've been a like a cult leader back in the DW, leading hoards of Black/Virus variant Digimon, some of whom have tracked him down in the Human World and are watching, waiting for his return

The opposite; these Digimon have been tasked with taking down Gammamon (Gulus or not) if Gulus became a problem, them being Black/Virus variants is either a irrelevant or maybe they're the same type to avoid any power imbalances due to differing attributes

They're not like cult followers but Gulus could maybe hold some ~daaaaark pooower~ that the Variants could want to steal for themselves to take over the world or something and they're just waiting for the right time to do so

They could've been sent by Hokuto for the same unknown reasons as why he sent Gammamon to Hiro in the first place- reasons we will not understand until Hokuto gets his ass kicked

Something to do with Uver. IDK what but. IDK is it a coincidence that the Digimon seemingly returning DigiEggs back into the DW is a Black/Virus Tailmon variant? Like maybe the other Variants are also doing mail/egg deliveries, they just didn't get cute uniforms

Yeah. There's so many possibilities. And not enough of breadcrumbs to really work with any more than this right now. I'm definitely curious to find out what's happening behind the scenes though, like I can NOT wait for some more lore/plot to drop (I'd be begging Toei for some lore but honestly I got Piemon as a whole MotW so at this point I can't ask for anything more from Toei ever again)

Commentary

What was this six seven different takes, a dozen different attempts. I had a piece I was once happy with before I was reminded of my ethics and couldn't in good conscience post it (I had traced off a character to study it which is totally fine but posting it here wouldn't be.) So I doubled back to the stupid ideas and here we are. Inspired by Neco Arc mixed with a Lucky Cat. My goal this month has shifted to studying different art formats and trying to learn how to make them myself. I'm very tired and after half finishing a whole piece then starting again from scratch I could use a good lie down. I'm not burn out but I got some sparks coming off me. Here I gave her a fish.

What Makes Your Muses Body Unique?

Features spanning across the ages: Past (bottom icon) and Present (top icon)

Heart shaped face seen in the detailing and relationship between the roundness of his face around his eyes and the angles of cheeks until they meet to form a pointed chin.

I've discussed it before, but I'm mentioning once more (as well as including an image) the fact he has what is known as clinodactyly. It is isolated to three fingers on each hand-- pinky, index, and ring-- with each one varying in severity from one another. All of which in that exact order. These fingers of his are also all double jointed. The bottom knuckles, however, in ALL of his fingers are bulbous in shape. They curvatures of them fit perfectly amongst each other like a puzzle. The same cannot be said about the top knuckles, though, as gaps surround his middle fingers on each sides.

He has a silly little scar at a place very few can see. One of which acquired from an injury sustained as a teenager as a result of doing something he had ought to not be up to in the first place. In an attempt to climb over a metal fence into an area he'd otherwise not been permitted into, and unsupervised at that, he managed to get comically stuck in his hurdle over it by way of his shorts getting caught onto a sticking out piece of metal. Rather than proceed with caution, he adamantly lunged downwards with all of his effort, slicing through his attire and that of the top of his gluteal cleft to the inches just above it. It isn't entirely noticeable unless one is truly looking in that area, and yet in knowing of it the male can't quite help himself from finding joy in its existence. Especially when considering the fact it acts as his nearly invisible tail each time he excitedly sways his hips as though he's wagging it via an energetic stim.

Another feature he finds to be a delight about himself is the fact he has an outie belly button. He's never wished to cosmetically change it in anyway as it has never caused him any pain or problems. He'll never be able to get a piercing there, no, but that's okay on account it looks cute as a button on its own already. It also rests perfectly within his softened stomach. It is where his fat cells deposit themselves most prominently, and has a tendency to consistently bloat forward due to a combination of stored negativity and a hormone imbalance. Muu always has, and always will, calls it his baby fat.

Speaking of body fat, Muu is otherwise rather lacking in that department as he is generally petite across the majority of his physique. Some of which is contributed to an active lifestyle dictated by consistently walking his dog, going on foot or by bicycle to places close enough to not require his vehicle, or public transport even, routine pacing in instances in which he's attempting to physically regulate out an intense emotion, a whole food diet centered on his entirely vegan lifestyle, and plenty, PLENTY of sleep. Muu's actively in bed by no later than 10pm an any given evening as he for one doesn't like to exist in the dark any longer than he has to, and also because he just is very invested in listening to his body for queues it needs an abundance of rest. Consider yourself lucky if you ever invite him to something taking place after eight pm, because by then he'd ideally like to already he in his jammies with the intention of unwinding and settling down for slumber. His slim frame is also a contribution of an underlying eating disorder centered on withholding food from himself whenever he's under the impression that he ought to be punished for his perceived failures of the day; however, he's growing more inclined to forget such a habit in favor of snacking on vitamin rich treats as hunger and hurt go more together than the version of himself who started up the habit in the first place knew about. He's also taking on the role of gentle parenting himself, which does sometimes mean sneaking himself vegan cookies to boost positivity while negative voice inside his head is distracted. All in all, he weighs an astounding 115lbs / 52kg. Already on the thin side, where one can notice it the most is in his teeny, tiny ankles. Them and his wrists are minute in their circumferences, which isn't entirely of any surprise as both his hands and feet are small for even a man of his stature. Fun fact: both his shoe size and his ring size are that of a size seven in traditional American sizing.

It is always „Why doesn't Hera just punish Zeus instead of his children and the women he sleeps with?” and almost never „Why didn't Demeter just punish Zeus instead of starving humanity?” or „Why didn't Apollo just punish Zeus when he killed Asklepios instead of taking revenge on the Kyklopes?”.

And for all that people complain about Hera not doing anything to Zeus, it is unclear what exactly they would even expect her to do, not to mention that they also seem to be unaware of the fact that she does, in fact, plot directly against him more frequently than any other Olympian: she participates in the binding of Zeus, is responsible for or involved in the birth of Typhon in two distinct variants of the myth for the express purpose of bringing about someone more powerful than Zeus, encourages the Titans to fight against Zeus and bring Kronos back to power, possibly tries to prevent Herakles from joining the Gigantomachy where his presence was necessary for the gods to win.

Just because her plots don't succeed does not mean that she doesn't try.
