AU August - Day Two: Vampires

What do you mean I distracted myself, I did no such thing... also, I’m skipping Cyberpunk and Wild West to just do w/e I want. (I drew on Cyberpunk day, but those drawings would be better for my other tumblr if not for a ban) ANYWAY HERE’S DAY TWO!

Series: Genshin Impact Rating: T+ Genre: Suspense Pairing(s): Chongyun x Xingqiu Summary: All he had done was ask for a bite. Warning: Vampire/Modern AU, there is blood, there’s confusion, and there’s passing out.

“Please, just a bite…”

He’d asked in such an un-Xingqiu manner, and he’d been very Xingqiu just seconds before. And those seconds before, they had begun walking home in the relative quiet that came with night following another semi-successful day of studying. Chongyun would never admit it out loud, but he noticed Xingqiu had not been acting like himself since they’d met up. Somehow, he’d appeared paler and faint circles had made their mark beneath his eyes - and though he’d inquired, his concern was brushed away with the excuse of late night reading the previous day before.

Entirely plausible had it not been his growling stomach.

Chongyun had offered to purchase a snack from the Library’s café, but Xingqiu had insisted against the offer with a smile and a teasing prod that perhaps the offer was Chongyun’s attempt at procrastination - which immediately made him hurry them both on to their usual table. He’d also made a mental note not to offer again, but of course he hadn’t meant it.

If he’d at least gotten Xingqiu something to drink, perhaps he wouldn’t have almost collapsed on their walk. Fortunately for them both, Chongyun’s reflexes were considerably well trained, but damn, holding onto his amber-eyed companion (friend?), he was even lighter than he assumed - weaker than his appearance portrayed as he struggled to grab hold of Chongyun’s arms. Somehow, he managed a soft laugh and an apologetic smile. “O-Oops… looks like I fell for you.”

“Cut that out,” Chongyun replied, shaking his head, and trying to keep himself collected. That just made Xingqiu laugh again; until his face fell into a grimace and his fingers trembled as they dug into Chongyun’s arm.

“Sorry… I thought I had longer…”

“...?”

He’d spoken so softly that Chongyun wasn’t sure if he heard Xingqiu correctly. Not that it mattered; he had to get Xingqiu… er, he would take him home if he knew where the young man lived. And was this worth a trip to the University clinic? Or should he already contact the hospital?

A pale finger caught his eye and Chongyun blinked - Xingqiu was gesturing for him to come closer. He chose instead to lift the shockingly light man closer, ignoring how he seemed to latch onto his shoulders and the feeling of his - ? His skin, and Xingqiu wasn’t breathing, but he felt his head shift against his neck, and shivered at how cold he was. How was that possible? He was wearing long sleeves - and it was a rather humid night.

“Please, just a bite…”

So low had his voice been despite being so close, and suddenly, that weak grasp felt like talons digging into his shoulders, making Chongyun stagger back in shock, but not release Xingqiu. Maybe that was a mistake; or maybe that had been his decision because he could not just drop him. But the frosted feeling of lips against his neck, the frigid dampness of his tongue dragging against his skin, he felt numb and paralyzed on the spot that the sudden pricking on his neck was barely more than a pinch. Blood weld, but did not spill as Xingqiu’s mouth sealed against his throat and the fierce hold on his shoulders soon came to be his arms wrapping around his neck. His body pressed closer, his tongue flicking against his skin to catch what he assumed might be dregs attempting to escape, but Chongyun’s thought process ground to a halt in his shock.

His legs wavered as Xingqiu groaned and shifted, seeming to drink deeper. His back connected with a wall as his knees almost buckled, but he only felt jostled by the hit instead of the soreness that might come with it. Rapidly, his mind was becoming a haze and the world muffled - cotton or water, whichever metaphor was quickly breaking down as dots filled his vision.

And then… black.

Before you request, please read my DNI, these rules and make sure to check if requests are open in my bio (and for which fandom they are open).

Since I have a full-time job, I can't put too much on my plate so works that have been requested will be around 600 - 1000 words max. If you want something longer than that, refer to commission info.

First meeting

This is part of a longfic, Demon/Vampire AU and is part of a flashback for Chongyun meeting Xingqiu. ~~~ Chongyun lifted up another strewn branch, putting it to his face and squinting at the way it had been snapped off. The fresh strands of green of its insides still slightly damp reassured him, he had to be on the right trail. The demon he was tracking had to have come through here, in fact with how recent it was he should be right on-

The branches of the trees above him rustled, his gaze immediately turned up with a flicker of panic crossing his face before his gaze settled on another boy crouched on one of the branches of the large tree.

The boy stared back at him with wide amber eyes, his hair was dark blue and while it seemed it was supposed to be straight it had been heavily tussled perhaps by his attempts to climb the tree, in fact there was some sap clumping parts of the locks together creating an uneven look to what seemed like it was intended to be just below his chin. The attire he wore fared little better, an expensive overcoat that was now slightly soiled with tree sap and leaves. He was dressed in shorts that meant the bare expanse of his legs were also sticky with sap and dirt, a few small cuts about his calf on his left leg. He was clearly not experienced with climbing trees.

“Uhm-”

“Shh- you’re going to make me get caught!”

Chongyun blinked, before glancing around the expanse of woods. “There’s no one else around-”

“Really? I thought I heard-Ah-”

“Mmm-hmm! Who are you hiding from?”

“i’m not hiding!” Huffed the boy, “I’m... just taking a break from my classes. They wouldn’t let me out!”

“Well, yes, the woods are dangerous at this time of year. It’s a seasonal hunting peak for Wendigos!”

The boy scrunched his face up, moving to try and adjust his position on the branch only to nearly fall off it and end up clinging to it a little tighter. “No! I can take care of myself! And- and- Well, you’re out here! Why are you here anyway?”

“I'm hunting for demons! This is the perfect time to test my skills, while the wendigos are most likely to appear I can work to help exterminate them! I’m an exorcist!”

“Exorcists are weird, what if it’s a nice wendigo!”

“Wendigo’s can’t be nice they’re demons!” Chongyun replied, his eyes widening in panic. “Demons can only be bad! That's why they’re demons!”

The boy frowned, “That’s weird. Have you ever met a demon?”

“well- uh- well, not yet but- I-”

“Then how do you know they’re evil!”

“My mother told me!”

“and my mommy told me that carrots make you see in the dark! Uh-uh! Parents lie all the time!”

“Not mine!” Chongyun countered, looking rather appalled at the boy's accusation, he puffed his cheeks out pouting.

The boy waved a hand that was covered in more sap, dismissively despite wobbling a little on the branch. “Do too I bet! Everyone lies a little bit, parents do it the most though, my father thinks I don’t know but I do!”

“Nuh-uh, never. Mine don’t, I don’t!”

The dark-haired boy raised a brow at that but didn’t say anything. For a moment the two stared at each other in the silence, with only the quiet rustling of wind through the trees, and the fumbling of the dark-haired boy trying to wipe the sap from his hands with his shorts.

“I can come with you.” Chongyun said, breaking the silence making the other scrunch his face up.

“You want to play with me?”

“...Yes? That way no evil spirits will come for you!”

“Okay.”

“So...” Chongyun tilted his head, watching the boy wobble again on the branch, “Are you going to come down?”

“.... I don’t know how.”

Ah- hello! You came just in time! How are you, it has been a while~ I just laid out the snacks and drinks on the blanket and was just gonna get something from the house. I kinda forgot the sugar cookies haha... You go on ahead, the picnic blanket should be under the cherry tree.

Hello everyone! It is finally here, a little event for you guys as a small thank you for helping me hit 1000 followers I am so happy that you like the things that I post and hope you continue to read them! *sweats* The event ends at June 30 2022 so watch out for that! Well? get going now! Follow the path and maybe you will meet a certain fellow!

How to send an ask~

Silent, hard working, undyingly loyal chongyun, dutiful servant to xingqiu since his teens. He maintains the castle, tends to his lord and secures meals without batting an eye.

Chongyun who's completely uncaring of his own physical state, willing to let xingqiu feed off him when gullible humans are scarce.

Xingqiu whos oh so very possessive of this human, the only one who's ever seen chongyun's soft smile or tiny fragments of kindness, laying claim after claim on him because even with all his wealth and power, this is the most important possession in his life

everytime i see this immoralqiu-sadistyun au i cannot help but think about the Inevitable meeting between canonqiu and canonyun. xingqiu would probably be sputtering and flustered like “b-b-but what about JUSTICE? what about CHIVALRY?????” while shaking immoralqiu; chongyun would be horrified and thoroughly convinced that sadistyun is an evil spirit who’s taking his form like “FROM WHENCE YOU CAME!!!!!!!!!” while they duel it out

xingqiu x reader

you stare at the sword in your hand. it has grown heavy, but it can’t compare to the weight in your heart. your opponent didn’t spare you after your defeat, his words harsh and brutal to your already fragile heart hosted by an even fragile body.

you grip your sword tighter only to plunge it into the dirt, letting out a deep scream. you won’t let this get into your head. you will train harder, better, and you’ll come back proving your nothing he said you were. except your legs give way and your lungs feel so small — if not for your determined grip on your sword you would have fallen to the floor.

xingqiu emerges from the crowd, eyebrows knitted together and mouth pulled into a frown. he’s quick to pass you a bottle of water, his other hand drawing circles on your back.

“you did great today,” he whispers — or it feels like it. your ears aren’t picking up much other than a flat incessant ring. “feeling better? do you feel light headed again?”

shaking your head, you avoid his gaze. he has a point. compared to before, your training with the guhua clan has helped with your breathing, so you were able to maintain a steady heart rate for longer.

however, no amount of training could have prepared you for the sharpness of words. will you always be the one left lying on the floor? the one people have to coo at? the burden, the undesirable. the weakling. titles you’ve silently carried due to your poor health.

“i’ve got you some herbal water. drink,” xingqiu commands gently, pushing the bottle water closer to your face. your shaking fingers barely have to strength to grab it, so he lifts it to your lips.

the close proximity probably helped him catch sight of your emerging tears.

“he's an opinionated young man,” xingqiu says abruptly, although it does comfort you a bit. after all, the person you challenged was none other than his brother. “he lives to share these opinions even when they are not solicited.”

“… he’s not the first,” you state after a few sips of water and past the bottle back to him. “it’s common sense, really.”

he places the bottle on the ground, both his hands on your shoulder as he adjusts himself for you to look at him squarely.

“i don’t see you that way. the guhua clan never saw you that way either.”

“everyone else does though,” you breathe out.

“should their opinions matter?”

more than mine? his unsaid question lingers.

xingqiu is an elegant man. posture perfect, hair never out of place unless it was intended; to hear a hint of desperation in his tone makes you unwillingly flinch.

“come, let’s get you to rest someplace more comfortable than the streets,” he says as he helps you up.

you know this conversation isn’t done. there’s more he has to say from the way he looks at you, but you know he’s more concerned to get you to the infirmary from his gentle touches.

(sorta late) Halloween Special! Taking Them Trick-or-Treating (+ Their Costumes)

Characters: Klee, Diona, Qiqi, Sayu, Dori, Nahida (all platonic or familial), Bennett, Fischl, Razor, Chongyun, Hu Tao, Kamisato Ayaka, Kamisato Ayato, Thoma

Klee is dressed as a witch. The costume was handmade for her and sent by Alice. It even came with a cute little hat for Dodoco!

Surprisingly she actually behaves herself while you're out trick-or-treating. Probably helps that you made sure that her bombs were, instead of her usual bombs, little firecrackers.

Diona is dressed as a hunter, just like her father. Either that or she's dressed as Diluc, much to the latter's amusement. She grumbles about it, though.

She lets herself be a little mischievous by the time trick-or-treating rolls around. You have to keep her from setting off Venti's cat allergies too much. She has fun, though.

Qiqi is dressed as a little ghost. She almost forgot to dress up, but thankfully you were prepared for that.

She wasn't too much of a handful, like usual. You did have to make sure to keep tabs on which houses you've already hit up for candy, though, given her poor memory.

Sayu... doesn't really change. At most, it's just into an outfit that's more clearly a mujina. She seems like the relatively low-effort type.

She always lights up whenever someone recognizes her costume as a mujina. If anyone confuses it for something else, like a tanuki or a bear, you're quick to politely correct them. She probably takes a nap the moment she's home. Walking around can get exhausting, after all.

Dori is dressed as a jinn. No surprise there, really. After all, why not go with something you know?

You have to keep tabs on her to keep her from bartering for more candy. Sometimes, though, when you look away from her for a moment, she somehow has more candy as a result of her trading with other trick-or-treaters.

Nahida's dressed as either a pumpkin or an aranara. Something plant-themed to fit her status as the Dendro archon.

Bless her heart, this is probably her first time going trick-or-treating. However, she knows what to do, thanks to her connection to the Akasha terminal, and her being the god of wisdom. She has a lot of fun, seeing all the decorations and getting compliments on her costume! Though, adults who see her aranara costume think she's dressed as a radish or some other vegetable. She doesn't mind, though.

Bennett is dressed up as a scarecrow. Though, after a while, he ends up accidentally losing a lot of the hay that was used for his costume and he ends up looking a little more like a raggedy doll. Not like that stops him from having a good time!

He's probably one of those poor guys that keep falling for pranks. Even obvious ones. He actually has a good amount of candy by the end, though. Lucky for him! (Though, you did have to make sure he didn't get hurt...)

Fischl is, of course, dressed as Prinzessin Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort. Just look at her and tell me she wouldn't. Either that or a vampire, complete with acting the part.

She loves, loves, loves Halloween. She can really be herself without judgment. What chuuni wouldn't love a night like this? She has an absolute blast going around with you, trick-or-treating.

Razor is dressed as a werewolf. You had to get the components of the costume for him yourself, though. He absolutely loved it when you presented it to him. Good luck getting those ears and that tail off of him after, though...

He's a bit awkward, but he's got the spirit. I can see him having a good time going out and getting candy with you. He sticks by you for most of it.

Chongyun... actually almost forgot to get a costume. You had to wait a few minutes for him to dress in the ice elf costume you brought him to match yours, just in case he forgot.

He's another one of those poor guys that's constantly getting pranked, but he doesn't fall for them as often because of his experiences with Xingqiu. It's admittedly still kinda funny seeing his reactions, though. If you like cinnamon candy or anything else that's spicy, he ends up giving you all of the candy he can't handle in exchange for stuff he can handle.

Hu Tao is a grim reaper! She even got you and Zhongli the same costumes to match. I can see her absolutely loving Halloween.

She's probably the one pranking everyone, let's be real here. Chongyun is probably one of her favorite targets to mess with. Not even you are safe from her festive mischief.

Ayaka probably dresses as a yuki onna. Something to fit her snowy, elegant vibes.

I can see her having fun going out and trick-or-treating. It's a good chance to go out and make sure everyone's having a good time this year, while also having fun!

Ayato dresses as a prince. And you're absolutely matching with him. He makes sure of it. Probably had Thoma deliver your costume.

He's probably more content to simply watch over you as you go from house to house collecting candy... but he will grab anything milk tea flavored from you. With your permission, of course. Don't worry, he leaves some for you too. He is a gentleman, after all.

Thoma's dressed as a werewolf. Or a weredog, rather. Something simple and non-intimidating so as to not accidentally scare the local kids.

He helps give out candy, even while the two of you are out trick-or-treating. He even has treats for the animals you two come across! You end up taking a while longer than anticipated, but you two enjoy your time together all the same.

Welcome to the Monster Mash!

...If you couldn’t tell, I could not think of a better way to introduce this weird, hidden village monster AU. Based off a roleplay with a friend, this is me taking some extra time to spend with some of the villagers!

“Oh? Were you looking for someone, little one? Hehe, I’m Miss Yae. Want to have a chat?”

Meet Yae Miko, the owner of Yae Publishing Agency and village leader! While this foxy woman may appear normal at first, her demeanor makes her a clear leader among the monsterfolk. From publishing and exporting new books to organizing annual festivals, Miko has expertise in far more fields than one might expect.

“Hiya, I’m Xiangling! Nice to meet you! Want some food? Wanmin Restaurant’s daily special is half off right now!”

Xiangling is one of the brightest teenagers in the village. Known as a junior culinary genius, she is very popular among her peers. Being a “were-bear” Xiangling will turn into a bear on nights with a waxing moon phase. This doesn’t discourage her from cooking, and often her friends will be recruited to help clean the damages afterwards...

“Hi... I am Qiqi. What are you here to purchase?”

Qiqi works at Bubu Grocery and Pharmaceutical Goods, the local shop. The shy zombie can often be seen sipping coconut milk while she mans the front desk. Qiqi does not have many friends in the village, since most of them grow up when she doesn’t. But she has learned to accept the coming and going of friends, and quickly forgets the older ones. At least right now she can stay with Dr Baizhu and his snake Changsheng.

So how can you come into this? Well... I’ll be opening my asks so people can request interactions between characters and the reader.

Introducing, the Reader. They are a mage and will be referred to with gender neutral pronouns. Reader has lived in the village for the past few years and already knows all of the village members.

Along with requests for interactions, you can also suggest things for the reader to do. You can suggest they visit a location or talk to a certain character. They are in your control, basically!

Location List

The Hidden Village: Surrounded by tall cliffs, a wide plaza is interspersed with canals for aquatic monsterfolk to swim through.

The Apartments: An apartment building owned by Miss Yae. Most of the people in the village live in the large complex.

Bubu Grocery and Pharmaceutical Goods: A grocery and pharmacy owned by Doctor Baizhu. Most of where everyone gets their groceries and occasional prescriptions.

Wanmin Restaurant: An open-air eatery. I already introduced Xiangling, so I don’t really have much to say about the restaurant. Haha... Um...

The Library: A small building where books are kept. The librarian Miss Ganyu also keeps a schoolhouse there during the spring and summer seasons.

Yae Bookstore: Did I mention Yae Miko owns like, 80% of the property? Well, welcome to the bookstore! (Where Xingqiu gets his little fingers worked to death while writing...) The bookstore owns a printing press and exports many original books.

The Channels: Where the sirens and mermaids hang out. This is also used as a transport sidewalk for most aquatic monsters.
