Little Darling I (Thomas Shelby x Reader)

Summary: Birmingham has received a new club, one that is showcasing a exotic type of dance that is drawing in crowds, but it is one particular dancer that catches Thomas Shelby's eye... one that goes by the stage name: Little Darling

Part II

A new club in Peaky Blinder territory was something that always raised Tommy's attention; usually, he would pay no mind when they first pop up, but it seemed like this club was different.

The Scarlet Letter was what it was called, Tommy had been sitting in his office at Shelby Company Ltd. when John and Arthur had come in to report about this club. Apparently, the club was showcasing a unique type of dance with its female employees, one that involved the use of a pole?

"A bloody pole?" Tommy had scoffed at the mention. "How the bloody hell are these women dancing with a pole?"

"Have to go check it out to see", Arthur had replied with a cheeky grin. "From what we've heard, this club had been making money. No ties to any gangs either."

It was a sight to see inside The Scarlet Letter, women adorned in expensive lingerie, their hair adorned in pinned curls and lips painted a deep red, but what was interesting was they work masks that concealed half their face. Literal poles were scattered throughout the place, a barmaid and bartender maned two bars on either side of the place, both busy; sofas and booth seats surrounded some of the poles, paritions in certain parts of the building.

He noticed a few heavy built men guarding certain areas, Tommy realizing they were hired help for the women.

"Mr. Thomas Shelby", a voice boomed. "What a surprise to be seeing the Peaky Blinders in my establishment!"

Y/N ran the red lipstick over her lips, smacking her lips together to get the the color saturated onto her lips. The eyelash extensions she had glued on for the evening tying the whole look together as she made sure to careful wipe away any excess around her mouth just as the boss came in.

"Ladies", she boomed, "We got some big customers outside. Make sure to put on your best performances!"

Cherry Johnson was their boss, she was a woman of a tall stature with a loud, booming voice that commanded respect. But she was a good boss, always fair to them and making sure they were safe, she only had them dance or perform lap dances, never forcing them to go any further.

Cherry came over to her as Y/N was about to fix the mask on, "Y/N, do you mind taking on a particular client here?"

"What client?" she asked as she adjusted the mask and tied the ribbon to secure it.

She saw Cherry grin in the mirror, "Thomas Shelby. Told him I'd send him only the best of my girls."

Everyone had heard of Thomas Shelby, of the Peaky Blinders so she looked at Cherry with a little frown, her lips curled a little.

"He's an obvious big tipper, darling", Cherry said, Y/N sighed.

"Fine", Y/N said as she adjusted her corset. "But he better know the rules."

Cherry grinned even bigger if that was even possible.

Y/N waited behind the curtain, pushing her hair behind her shoulders as she waited for her arrival to be announced. They switched dancers every hour or so, changing sets and outfits, working the floor and private dances. She noticed that her two other co-workers, Babydoll and Lovely, were up next with her on the big stage.

"Hey there, Little Darling", Lovely said with a grin. "Heard the boss gave you some big fish to entertain."

"I just hope he isn't stingy with the tips", Y/N said as she heard Cherry begin to announce them.

"Look alive, ladies", Babydoll teased, "it's showtime."

Tommy leaned back in the plush velvet chair that was in front of the large stage, Arthur and John on either side of him as he inspected the area. Cherry, the boss, had told him that she was sending one of her best girls to dance for them, the crowd favorite, but Cherry had told him the rules and the biggest one was 'no touching'.

"Next up we got Lovely, Babydoll and your favorite... Little Darling!" Cherry announced to the eager crowd.

Tommy put his cigarette between his lips as he noticed the anticipation in John and Arthur, the eagerness in their bodies; Tommy wondered where Esme thought John was as she came out, a intricate corset and stockings piece with a garter on one plush thigh adorned her body. Pinned curls framed her masked face with those blood red, plump lips and sultry, bedroom lidded eyes that were just calling to him.

He didn't even notice his brothers be captivated by her or the other two dancers as she approached the pole, a sensual dance performed in front of him as she moved in a way he had never witnessed before. He noticed other patrons throwing... pounds? at them, the women sensually grabbing the bills and stuffing them into the attire.

"C'mon Tommy", John said, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him a little. "Let loose a little already."

His brothers were throwing notes onto the stage, Little Darling making a show of grabbing them and stuffing them into the corset with a wink. She was like a seductress on the stage, moving with the music, performing acrobatic moves on the pole, it amazed him so as he light another cigarette and placed it in his mouth, he reached into his inner coat pocket, grabbing some bills into his hand.

Little Darling gave him a seductive smile, moving from the pole and getting to her knees, begin to crawl towards him till she reached the end of the stage where he was; she tilted her head a little before she leaned forward, making a show of grabbing his hand that held the bills and guiding it to stuffing the bills into the front of her corset where her tits were.

She winked at him before blowing him a kiss.

Y/N made a good amount of money from her dancing on the stage, counting the pounds that were thrown before passing it to Cherry to take her part.

"Good show out there, N/N", Cherry said, handing her back the money she earned. "You got a private dance with a Mr. Shelby."

Y/N nodded, rolling her shoulders back before making sure her makeup was still good before heading to one of the private rooms.

Walking into one of the private rooms, she saw him there; the dimly light room only seemed to work in the man's favor, adding to the feeling of danger that already existed in the room. He had his cap off, it resting on one of the side tables in the room as he blew out a smoke of nicotine from his lips.

"Cherry tells me you're called Little Darling", Tommy said as she closed the door behind her.

"I am", she answered as she slowly walked towards them.

"Quite the performance you put on."

She moved to straddle his lap, draping her arms his shoulders with a lazy grin on her face.

"I could see you enjoyed it, very much."

She stared into his piercing blue eyes, she could see the lust swirling in his eyes as she begun to move her hips.

Arthur Morgan

He isn’t really too affected by your accent, spending enough time in Saint Denis got him used to Italian accents. One thing he never got a good grasp on was your language; English isn’t his strong suit either, so don’t be surprised when you speak Italian and he questions you.

After Sean nearly blew your head off, you screamed, “Impara a mirare, stronzo!” In an angry tone. Arthur looked at you as if you had two heads. “Say what now?”

Arthur likes hearing about the different dishes you’ve had in the past, how different the food is from the States compared to Italy. Of course, there aren’t many differences, but some dishes that are called the same thing aren’t too similar.

He listens to your rants; your angry ones, your confused ones, everything.

“Lasagna here is very different than the lasagna back home!!”

He sees your reactions to culture clashes in real time and he thinks it’s a bit funny. When you greeted him with a kiss on the cheek and then did the same thing to Tilly, he was confused.

After you explain the culture side of it, he understands. Arthur lets you do it to him as a greeting and a goodbye afterwards.

Arthur is used to hearing Italian, but he never learned it as a whole besides the basic phrases. I imagine he never learns how to properly speak it, but he learns to understand it to an extent.

John Marston

He thinks your anger is funny. He thinks your accent is funny. Very very funny. Your accent tends to get thicker when you aren’t thinking about it, so he can’t contain his laughter.

John is used to your accent, but still finds it funny nonetheless. He doesn’t understand a lick of what you say in Italian, but he tries to guess by your tone.

“Vai a farti fottere, Dutch…” “You said what now??”

John is a little dense, so he doesn’t care much about the conversation for food but your family is very big on the food; you can’t help but follow in their footsteps and force John to try some when you’re able to make it.

That being said, there’s a lot of food you grew up with that he didn’t.

“What the hell is.. Spaghetti??”

“Lasagna?” — He complete pronounces it wrong as well, somehow….

When you first greeted him in such a.. personal way, he short-circuited. He didn’t know that you did not mean it in a flirty way until Arthur smacked him upside the head, teasing him. “Those wolves truly did eat all your brains huh, Marston??”

He never learns to speak your language, nor does he learn to understand it. Except when you swear- he knows what that means because I can imagine a lot of your anger is directed towards him when he does something stupid.

John is stupid and he teases you, but overall he enjoys when you embrace yourself.

Charles Smith

He, like the others, isn’t really too affected by your accent. Him and Javier are naturally more respectful to your traditions, your language, your foods.

Charles likes hearing your language. I can imagine he also has a problem, has a hard time grasping your language but it’s because of the environment you two remain to be in.

Like John, he begins to understand a lot of phrases. He learned a lot of Javier’s phrases as well. Charles can’t speak Italian, but he sure can understand you.. most of the time.

You have little patience for some people and it concerns him. Not your behavior, but he gets concerned for the people you get angry towards. (Except Micah.)

You two take some time to talk about dishes together and traditions. Due to how Charles was raised and how his childhood went, he isn’t the most educated on his own culture but he shares what he knows.

He takes the time to listen to your culture and traditions. Charles was shocked at your greetings, but he soon got used to it when you explained it to him. I can imagine you two spend a lot of time together, a unexplainable bond. As well as Javier.

After meeting Angelo Bronte, he joked that maybe you are also controlling Saint Denis. That’s when you explain the Mafia crime families that control different areas. (He’s concerned on how you know all of this, but he doesn’t question it.)

Javier Escuella

He is likely to have the least obvious reaction to your accent. Maybe a remark at first with a tease, but he knows how it is when someone makes it a big deal. Especially during these times.

Like Charles, you two get along pretty well. Surrounded by people who don’t speak your native language, who don’t share your culture and traditions, it’s pretty obvious why you and him flocked together; some sort of familiarity, even if you don’t share the same exact traditions (although they are similar).

Italian and Spanish are highly similar languages so I can imagine there’s some confusion surrounding some of the words. Your cultures are a bit similar which leads you to go down conversations of comparison and jokes about who’s is better.

Javier teases you a lot, purposely getting on your nerves. He knows when too much is too much, but in a way like John, he finds your anger funny.

He gets nervous when you get into it with Micah, but hearing your angry Italian after the fact is 100% worth it.

LOST

Sherlock was lost.

The packs they'd been given only contained a few items ... besides their basic survival kit. One was a flare. He stared at it. Deciding. If he was ready to give up ... ?

Not that giving up was a guarantee of survival. It was likely a death sentence.

But so was being lost in this hellscape! With no food left and a band of the most viscious, ganged up against him ... hot on his trail ...

The games were brutal. Pitting children against teens. It didn't matter who you were ... your station was not security. Lords, baronets, doctors, labourers, farmers, bakers alike - had to watch their children below the age of 18 be selected. All could be tributes. No one was safe.

And only one could win.

At first, Sherlock had been glad to be selected!

He had a better chance of survival than most ... or so he had thought.

He had brains. Ingenuity ... a deadly set of self-taught skills ... If he could just make it through one more night! Lead them to the cliff where he had prepared a trap!!! ... He might survive. He might make it ...

Sherlock heard a branch snap behind him, and turned. Watched in shock as he saw a spray of pink dust released. A toxin that attracted the rabid dogs in the area ... and hoofed it. Left to wonder ... and to thank the mysterious helpmate, who had likely just saved his skin! Throwing off the scent of his trail.

He knew the boy had just used up rare resource in the process.

He hoped whoever it was ... now also made it. Despite the knowledge ... he would still have to kill if they met again.

In His Name

John walked into Whitehall that morning ... seeking more. Seeking something to do with his time ...He walked out with a secret mission.

One handed to him ... practically falling in his lap!

He couldn't believe his luck!

But when Sherlock turns up in Whitehall late, to Mycroft's great annoyance ... They both find out that a mysterious - and apparently invalided - army doctor, has unknowingly taken the mission ... in his name!

Now Sherlock is on a mission to not only ensure the job is completed, but to also bring home a man he believes to be out of his depth and over his head!

What Sherlock doesn't realize ... is that he is the one about to be out of his depth ... and head over heels in love with his highly competent replacement!

In what it is, we learn a lot about dean/john through drunken confessions and sam's (somewhat twisted) view and interpretations. did you have any headcanons/thoughts about what it really was like from dean's perspective, like not the version he's willing to tell sam about, but the REAL version? 🙏

Amiiiiii sorry it's taken me a while to reply to this ❤ and ty for the question!

So most of what Dean tells Sam makes it sound like this idyllic, perfect relationship. From my perspective he's doing that for a number of reasons - partly because he *is* genuinely idealising it and putting it on a bit of a pedestal now John is dead. He's only remembering the good times and he's missing those moments, and John, horribly. Plus a lot of what he says to Sam where he's making out that it was like this beautiful thing where they were actually in love and had all this amazing sex is almost performative? He's saying it out of defiance in some scenes because Sam won't let it drop/keeps doing his damnedest to make him feel like shit about it, and out of almost reassurance/damage control in others - he doesn't want Sam to start hating John all over again and he wants Sam to think that it was a good thing, that nothing bad happened and both of them were totally okay and happy with it and that Sam is overreacting. Which only makes Sammy more mad and unhinged heh heh heh.

But Dean knows that none of this is accurate. He knows that it was an on/off thing, he knows that John had a really hard time with it, he knows that it was only good *sometimes* and mostly it was just strained and lonely. What he tells Sam in I think the second to last chapter, when they've made things up a bit and are sitting out on the Impala, is a pretty accurate reflection of my headcanon of what things were actually like between them. John blew hot and cold. He may have wanted it just as much as Dean did, but he couldn't deal with the guilt of it and would always eventually push Dean away. Sometimes there'd be months of nothing before he couldn't help himself and gave into it again. The whole time Dean was holding on and hoping and being patient and feeling confused and despite the occasional good period, things were actually pretty miserable. So he's not only left with John's death and the loss of both his father and that relationship, but he's left with all that heartache.

For what it's worth as well, and deviating from what you asked, I also wrote it with the idea that in the background, Dean was also in love with Sam. Maybe moreso, maybe with John being the next best thing almost, but Dean's famous lack of self awareness didn't really enlighten him to this. That's why he clung to John and gave into whatever was between them as soon as Sam left. That's why the despair over what happened between him and Sam, especially with John making him promise before he died to *never* to go there with Sam. And after that conversation Sam kind of realises all this even if he can't really process it all, he understands it somewhat better and he gets a very vague, loose sense of closure. Or at least enough for them to sweep it under the rug and never ever talk about it again. :)

I know that this isn't a novel take by any means but god you just realize how brutal that power dynamic really was and how that ties into other lyrics on other songs on the album. as for songs I'm excited to hear rerecorded... I'm actually going to cry when I hear tim mcgraw tv. god. dear john... a place in this world... last kiss... mainly things from debut and speak now because of how long ago it was and how different her voice is now!!

The real reason Meghan Markle is going to the US Open

Meghan Markle will be attending the US Open to watch best friend Serena Williams play, but we’ve learned that’s not her sole motivation for her trip to New York.

A source told Page Six on Friday that Markle is doing some image damage control following outrage over her use of a private jet for a family vacation this summer and the kerfuffle she caused by banning people from snapping photos of her at Wimbledon.

“She’s coming after the scandal over people taking photos of her at Wimbledon this summer and will come with at least two police protection officers,” the source said, “but they won’t be able to stop gawkers from taking photos.”

Other sources claimed that Markle’s last-minute trip to the tournament was a “PR stunt” after she and environmentalist husband Prince Harry created upset when they opted to fly in a private jet for a trip to Elton John’s home in France, despite the flight’s carbon impact on the planet. John defended the royal couple after the backlash, saying it was necessary for their safety.

The palace confirmed to Page Six Markle will be attending. The British Embassy says it is alerted to any VIP making a private visit and is there to help.

Williams will be competing against Canada’s Bianca Andreescu in the finals on Saturday for her record-tying 24th Grand Slam singles title.

Reps for the royal couple didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Williams also has her fashion show scheduled for Tuesday night, though we’re told it’s unlikely Markle will attend.

This will be Markle’s first trip without 4-month-old son Archie. The last time the Duchess of Sussex traveled to New York was in February for her highly publicized baby shower, which Princess Diana’s former aide, Patrick Jephson, told Page Six “alienated” the palace.

“Nobody objects to Meghan having time with friends . . . [but] dignity and privacy are consistent with her primary role as a British duchess,” Jephson said. “That fact that her friends seem to fail to understand this is deeply worrying for her future royal career.”
